♡ Characters: Ryomen Sukuna x GN!Reader ♡ Warnings: Yandere themes, obsession, possessive behavior, intrusive thoughts, gore (?), violent impulses, intense psychological conflict, inappropriate touching (nonsexual but unsettling), power imbalance, emotional repression, Sukuna being a freak in denial lmao ♡ WC: ~800 ♡ Notes: Part two of Ordinary (you don’t have to read it first, but like... you totally should bc I’m cool and my fics slap). A single look becomes a single touch, and Sukuna spirals even harder. He’s angry, unhinged, and worst of all—he’s feeling. Proximity is breaking him, and he can’t stand how much he wants more. Part 3? Probably. I’m feral.
𓏸⋆。˚☁️˚。⋆𓏸
The day had been dragging its feet, a dull smear of routine—training with Yuji, dodging curses, the usual grind. You’re in some abandoned warehouse now, the air thick with dust and the faint reek of mildew, sparring with the kid to keep his reflexes sharp. He’s mid-laugh, dodging a lazy punch you threw, when it happens. His grin freezes, eyes widening for a split second before they darken—brown bleeding into crimson, pupils sharpening to slits. The shift is instantaneous, like a light snuffed out, and the body in front of you isn’t Yuji’s anymore. It’s Sukuna’s.
He doesn’t say a word at first, just straightens up, rolling Yuji’s shoulders like he’s stretching into a new skin. His presence fills the room, heavy and suffocating, and those red eyes lock onto you with an intensity that makes your pulse stutter. You should be scared—anyone else would be—but you just square your stance, chin up, watching him right back.
“Brat’s too soft with you,” he says, voice low, a growl threading through Yuji’s lighter tone.
He steps closer, barefoot on the cracked concrete, and the air turns sharp, electric.
“Lets you get away with too much.”
You tilt your head, unfazed.
“And you’re here to fix that?”
His lips twitch, a snarl masquerading as a smirk, and he closes the distance in two strides, looming over you.
He’s still in Yuji’s body, but it doesn’t feel like it—every move is too deliberate, too predatory, the way he tilts his head, the way his gaze rakes over you like he’s peeling back your skin.
“I could snap your neck between two fingers,” he growls, one hand darting out, claw-tipped even in this borrowed form.
His index finger hooks under your chin, tilting it up with a pressure that’s just shy of piercing flesh, the sharp edge grazing your pulse.
“Twist it right off and watch you flop like a broken doll.”
You don’t flinch. His breath is hot against your face, smelling faintly of copper and something darker, and you can feel the tremor in his grip—anger, maybe, or something worse.
“But?” you prompt, voice steady, daring him to finish.
His eyes narrow, crimson flaring, and his claw stills, pressing harder for a heartbeat before he speaks again, quieter, rougher.
“But I’d miss the way your voice sounds when you say my name.”
The words slip out like a confession he didn’t mean to make, and his jaw tightens, teeth grinding as if he could bite them back.
Your lips part, a retort halfway there, but he moves first—his free hand brushing yours, accidental, just a graze of knuckles as he shifts his weight. It’s fleeting, barely a second, but the contact hits him like a jolt.
Your skin is warm, too soft against the calloused edge of his borrowed flesh, and it sticks—clings to him like damp blood, seeping into his nerves. He freezes, eyes flicking to where your hands almost met, then back to your face.
“Your skin…” he mutters, low and guttural, like he’s tasting the words. “Tch. Filthy.”
But he doesn’t pull away. Doesn’t wipe his hand clean. His claws curl tight instead, digging into his own palm until black blood wells up, and you catch the flicker of something in his gaze—disgust, maybe, or hunger.
He steps closer still, chest brushing yours, and for a split second, his other hand lifts—like he might touch you again, softer this time, trace the line of your jaw with something less than violence. But then his eyes widen, a snarl ripping out of him, and he snaps it back, fist clenching so hard the tendons creak.
Like you burned him.
Like he can’t trust himself.
“Why do you care?” he snaps, voice jagged, leaning in until his forehead nearly touches yours, his breath ragged against your lips.
“You look at me—him—like that, all soft and worried, and it’s fucking disgusting. Why?”
You don’t back down, meeting his glare head-on.
“Why does it matter to you?”
He goes still, deadly quiet, and the warehouse feels smaller, the air thicker, like it’s pressing in around you both. His hand—the one that brushed yours—twitches at his side, and you’d swear he’s fighting the urge to grab you again, to dig those claws in and see if you’d break or bend.
“You’re a plague,” he says finally, voice dropping to a hiss, but he doesn’t move away.
Doesn’t retreat. Just stands there, too close, staring like he’s trying to carve you into his memory—or carve himself out of yours.
♡。゚☁︎。♡゚
Later that night, when Yuji’s back in control, laughing off the spar like nothing happened, Sukuna’s silent. Buried deep in that shared skull, he’s seething, replaying that touch—the heat of your skin, the way it lingered, the way it branded him.
He dreams of it, a fractured, furious haze of red light and soft flesh, your hand brushing his again and again until he wakes, claws tearing into Yuji’s sheets, black blood staining the fabric.
He’s pissed—livid—at you, at himself, at the way that fleeting contact won’t leave his fucking fingers.

Jason finally giving into affection re: Bruce but he does it Mandalorian style. which is to say he headbutts Bruce so hard he breaks his nose and then presses their foreheads together while Bruce bleeds everywhere. somehow this is cathartic for them both.
#bonus points if this is right after some large fight together#love how in mando culture#a headbutt is basically the same thing as a kiss#a platonic kiss sometimes for the record!#so sometimes#when you break someone's nose with a headbutt#it can be construed as a very violent but genuine gesture of affection#anyway#back on my mando bullshit#bruce wayne#batman#dc#batfamily#jason todd#red hood#and like#bruce LETS him break his nose#and just lets him headbutt him#like if jason's affection is only done this way#then that's fine with bruce right

"Are the Robins child soldiers" It depends. If the story is super serious and into exploring complex morality and grounded from reality's standards, then yes. If the story is lighthearted, made for children, fluff, etc., then no. If it's somewhere in the middle, it might depend.
If an author wants to write a story seriously delving into the fucked up-ness of children fighting criminals, they can, and if you don't like it, you can read something else.
If an author wants to write a fun story about villains and heroes featuring Robin in a world where that's not an issue, they can, and if you don't like it, you can read something else.
If an author wants to write a serious story but not apply IRL-logic to Robin, they can, and if you don't like it, you can read something else.

Demon Twins AU that focuses on the discrimination and bullying that Danny faces from being a kid who appeared out of nowhere, evidently adopted, and is impacted from his reactions to the world as a former League Assassin and the culture shock that would come from it forever imprinted on the minds of his peers and fellow Amity Parkers.

gonna be real dudes sometimes writing batman stuff while having a working knowledge of high-acuity mental illness is So Fun and i can do so many cool things with it but sometimes its like.
there's no mental illness that makes people act like this or do these things, and if I assign a diagnosis to them (or conform to the canon 'diagnosis'), i will either have to alter fundamental aspects of their character to fit it, or it will only perpetuate harmful, reductive, and WRONG stereotypes about that illness
#like i've worked with violent offenders i have WORKED with people who are not guilty by reason of insanity#they are not like that bro!#and it's not gonna be realistic#you can't write realistic villains with mental illness and still have them do the things that batman villains do#but saying they do this because of some vague schizo-affective disorder is. well. hm#sorry i just have lots of THOUGHTS#i get so annoyed with the like. but they're insane and evil~~~~ ooooooo~~~~~~~#except for you borderline jason todd hc i hold you close to my chest and will defend you to the death#aster spreekt#anyways trying to figure out my pyg character decisions is gonna be the death of me#better halves (and other such falsehoods)#dp x dc

Every time I watch the cold open of Memorial and B'Elanna tells Tom about how she ASSEMBLED a 50's television set from SCRATCH just to surprise him (there's no reason beyond that - just an incredibly sweet and thoughtful gesture) and replicated popcorn for him to eat while he watches and Tom says "They didn't have remote controls in the 50's ♥ Also where's my beer?" I contemplate murder ESPECIALLY because B'Elanna responds cheerfully to it - GIRL!!! LEAVE HIM!!!!!! IS HE SUPPOSED TO BE CHARMING IN THIS SCENE????
#AND THEN SHE TRIES TO TELL HIM ABOUT HER DAY AND HE DOESN'T EVEN LISTEN TO HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#-KILLINGHIM-#also a line that always makes me smile is in the mess hall scene#a group of crewmen enter all laughing and one person says 'that's the best joke I've ever heard!' it's so on the nose and I love it#also I LOOOVE the scene with Neelix Chakotay Tom and Harry all bouncing off each other in the briefing room#AND HARRY GETS TO SHIIINE~!!!!#anyway Tom is a shitty enough partner he does NOT need violent war ptsd#ALSO!!! Seven & Neelix are a severely underrated friendship they're really sweet to each other#'Memorial' is a really good episode I love the sci-fi concept and the intensity from everyone <3#Chakotay's dry: 'Fascinating.'#I also love Neelix's resistance to turning off the memorial - it fits so well with his character (and backstory)#and I love the tried and true 'every alien planet is just some park <3'#I forgot Janeway made them recharge the insta-ptsd memorial and was gonna be like WHAT???? WILD CHOICE MA'AM#but then she put a content warning in space and I waslike OK...ok!! That I can accept v_v hehehe#I 100% understand both sides of the 'do we leave it on or turn it off?' debate bc it DOES instantly give you debilitating war ptsd#so it's not like it's a heartless or un-empathetic choice to want to turn it off - I think Janeway's solution is the best of both worlds#I am interested in how being spontaneously afflicted with severe ptsd-causing memories of brutally murdering almost a hundred people would#mm....affect almost the entire crew (I say 'almost' bc it doesn't seem like it was EVERYONE: Naomi - Seven - and Tuvok are all fine for#example)#like what if someone (and this is dark but in a real-world way a real concern) kills themself because of that guilt??#what if the ship gets in a battle and around half the crew starts experiencing flashbacks??#Again - Voyager not having a counselor/therapist is HORRIFIC

I know this is just a silly bad quality random screencap of a screencap that I found on facebook lol, BUT it's a succinct enough image to easily describe the concept in a quick/accessible way hopefully :

-
(and of course, feel free to elaborate in tags, etc.! (especially elaborating about other senses as well.. can you "hear" in your mind just as well as you can "see"? taste? etc.) It's an interesting topic to me, as someone who's like a 4.5 at MOST lol. I'm curious what option will be the most common :0c )
#tumblr polls#hrmm... a little poll perhaps.. about a subject I find interesting.. since this image came across my facebook today#still really not feeling that well. no longer shaking violently and such but I still feel weird and weak much more than usual#They did say my markers for like infection or inflammation were elevated but that they werent sure of the cause so hopefully#it's nothing too serious. they did also say a lot of different things can cause that thing to be higher than normal but didn't go into spec#fics of what. maybe some of them are relatively benign or something. I still havent felt much back to normal since#I got really sick that one time though. I feel fine on and off but then little bouts of feeling weird and sick happen. hrmmm#ANYWAY.. looking for small ways to be productive. such as little doodles on evil ipad or editing game videos#or posting polls or cat pictures or some other like not very labor intensive things#I WISH I COULD FOCUS on writing HHRGGhh... I need to finish my game.. it would be so freeing.. a project that's been looming#over my head for like 5 years even though througouht that 5yrs I've probably spent a total of 3 months working on it lo.. ANYWAY#I still partially really cannot beleive that people CAN see stuff in their heads. There's always part of me that's thinking like. well mayb#e everyone DOES see the same exact thing but we just describe/conceptualize it so differently that we think we're talking about#different things when we're really not. But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see#stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I#can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud..#but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone#said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects#the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm

"I dreamt that you died." Aventurine says, apropos of nothing.
Veritas lifts his gaze from the book he'd been reading, across the first class cabin they're sharing, and to his colleague. Nothing in his expression betrays any emotion or thought about the statement he let out into the world, as is customary for the gambler. Veritas takes a moment to study him more thoroughly.
Aventurine isn't looking at him. The chip in his hand is dancing faster than usual, he's wearing his tinted glasses despite there being no need for them on the transport, and his other hand is hidden in his coat. Veritas has learned to look for that left hand whenever he suspects something is amiss with Aventurine.
He considers his next words carefully. "In many cultures across the galaxy, dreaming of someone's death is believed to produce the opposite effect. It is considered a good omen that brings longevity and prosperity."
There's a long moment of silence, then the chip suddenly stops. Aventurine had been looking at him from the corner of his eye, an indicator that he was listening as Veritas spoke, but he looks away again now.
"Not in mine," He says lightly, almost sings it.
It sounds like mockery, like Aventurine's typical attempts to get a rise out of him, like contradiction for the sake of it, but Veritas knows him better than that. The gambler may seem frivolous on the surface but he always speaks with purpose. The trick is figuring out what that purpose is.
Closing his book, Veritas leans forward, almost into Aventurine's space. The other does not lean away, and finally looks him in the eye, but he can see his shoulders are tense. His left hand is still hidden in his coat. Perhaps, instead of a non-sequitor, his opening statement was a damning admission, Veritas thinks.
"We both know this upcoming mission will be dangerous." He says quietly, he doesn't expect Aventurine to interject, but he pauses anyway. True to expectation, Aventurine stays silent, watching him intently. Veritas continues. "However, we also both know that your role in it is much more perilous than mine. I believe you made sure of that yourself, no?"
The gambler still remains uncharacteristically silent. Gauging Veritas' reaction to his grim statements no doubt. Veritas has passed many a test in his university days with little stress, so it is a new feeling to experience, this uncertainty. He feels like there is a right and a wrong thing to say in this situation, yet he does not know exactly what it is.
"It is my opinion that you should be worrying about yourself, gambler, instead of me, but if it eases your mind, I shall promise to stay alert on Penacony. Not that I wouldn't otherwise be, as you should well know by now."
Perhaps he's revealed too much, shown his hand, as the resident gambler would say, but he's found himself much too invested in said gambler's emotional wellbeing as of late, so he doesn't mind. Especially as that wary glint fades just a little from Aventurine's vibrant eyes, and he wrestles his signature grin back onto his face.
"True to form as usual." He teases. "I can always rely on you to bring rationality to the table, Doctor."
#ive got many thoughts about these two#one of which being aventurine dreaming of ratio's death#and waking up in a cold sweat#scared of how badly it affected him#because it means he cares too much and everyone he's cared for in the past got taken away from him#often in a violent manner#his luck does not extend to those around him#and i absolutely need to explore that further#aventurine#honkai star rail#hsr#dr ratio#raturine#aventio

i know armands feelings towards the theatre coven were complicated and while i dont think theres any reality where he wouldve saved them. i do think he mourns them sometimes. bc quite frankly i dont think anyone could live with a group of people for 150ish years and not feel some sense of loss when they all die
#better question is does he recognize it as grief (probably not) and actually engage in the process of grieving (absolutely not)#but i think it does affect him. i think sometimes he thinks about it for a lil too long and gets a pit in his stomach#and then goes and kills someone in a particularly violent manner. and tells himself those events are unrelated#the vampire armand

Danyal Al Ghul's missed potential - this kid is not gonna behave like his canon self if he's with the league of assassins until his late formative years, and my reasoning why
(feel free to take this all with a grain of salt this is just my thoughts on it, this is all mostly amusing to me and isn't trying to be negative towards anyone else)
similar to how i was talking about how danny growing up in crime alley would affect him, demon twin aus with danyal al ghul make me laugh a lot (affectionate) because... whose teaching danny to unlearn all the ecofascism he picked up from the league of assassins? whose teaching him to be kind? to be gentle? Not the LoA thats for certain.
(you could plausibly say Jazz but she's only 2 years older than Danny and do you really expect a fellow child to properly explain why X is wrong to another child and have it be 100% effective? i don't doubt it'd help to an extent, but not in the same way an adult explaining it would)
plus a ton of other things, like whose teaching him to value human life? not the LoA. Whose teaching him how to adjust to living with American society after he ends up with the Fentons when he's 8-9-10? Who teaches him that killing is wrong, whose enforcing that?
(not the Fentons if you're going the neglectful parent route, and Jazz can try but i really don't think Danny is going to listen to her, a stranger who isn't even part of his grandfather's league)
How do you teach a child to value human life when the greatest development window for that opportunity has closed and he's already formed his own opinions?
You're not gonna get a Danny whose exactly like his canon attitude if he's staying with the league during his formative years (0-8 years old). you're not. You could get someone LIKE it, potentially, or someone who has traces of it or is similar -- like danny's wit and jokes and sarcasm, and on some level his kindness. but you're not gonna have a carbon copy. Development doesn't work that way. "nature" can only do so much in the face of nurture.
If anything, it doesn't even have to be a major change -- in the league he cans till be kind, but it's probably going to manifest in a different way than what is considered normal. Tough love, for one. But there's gonna be something that affects him negatively. Why make him 'always good/kind' when you can make him a brat who develops into a kinder (if spikier than in canon) person?
TLDR: Danyal Al Ghul would not be like how he is in canon if he's with the league until his late formative years -- not without any lasting pr permanent impacts from the league at least. Missed potential to make him an absolute nightmare like damian was -- especially in his early years when he first arrived to the Fenton house.
(this doesn't apply to danyal al ghul aus where he's either given to the fentons as a baby/is reincarnated/etc. this is mostly aimed for danyal al ghul aus where he fakes his death at like, 7-10 and somehow ends up, personality-wise like his completely canon self by 14 without any differences.)
(and even then if he's five or four, or even three, he would still be traumatized and influenced by the league. he'll just have more time to adjust. the sooner he leaves the league the more likely he is to be like his canon self, but not like an exact copy)
(more under the cut)
Anyways what I'm saying is that there is prime missed Danyal al Ghul potential to make him an absolute NIGHTMARE to the Fentons however way he ends up with them, just like Damian was with the Waynes! Cuz why does Damian get all the fun? Danny got the same training and endoctrine as him! He is also an ex-assassin! Why is Danny the only one who is 'well adjusted and non-violent' hm? Hmm?
Why can't he also be mean, and stabby, and a total stuck-up in some way or another? Have fun with his characterization, its prime opportunity to play play-doh and clay with him! If he starts out as X how does he get the personality traits of Y, and thus become XY?
Like take this with a grain of salt if you will, but make him arrogant. Make him an asshole! Make him a bad person at first! Because he will be! He's the blood son of the batman and you mean to tell me that damian is the only one arrogant about it at first? Make him stabby and mean even at 14 when he's begun to chill out! Have fun with it! If he's with the Fentons at any point past the age of four or five then he's gonna be a nightmare to handle because he still remembers the league and his time there.
(and while it gives him more time to chill the hell out, his time at the league is still gonna leave an impact on him.)
also what im saying as well is have him and sam potentially get along like a house on FIRE. Again, Danny grew up under the views of an ecofascist cult and nobody to challenge those views to him until he got to amity park at whatever age in late formative years he was at. He could be about as intense or even MORE intense about environmental awareness/rights than Sam is!
(also him being supremely unimpressed with Sam's wealth. he gave up a palace in the mountains for this town. because that's funny to me - like let his past have more influence on him! it'll be fun!)
you could have a danny who doesn't kill but doesn't fully understand the value of human life because jazz is like two years older than him and isn't that good at explaining why people's lives are important. he won't kill but he's not morally opposed to it. there's very little chance he actually gets bullied at school because he nearly killed Dash the first time he tried anything.
Danny could have scars, physical ones, because its implied in multiple canon that training starts at toddling (my best bet is 3 at minimum and ~maybe~ 2 but only on the later side of 2. Good fucking luck getting any infant under 2 to do anything you ask, ESPECIALLY assassin training. They're gonna stick the weapon in their mouth sooner than they're gonna do katas. This is coming from a daycare teacher.)
there's more examples of how danny being at the league during his formative years would affect him, but those are just some of them. he could have a sword! An appreciation for weaponry and nature. Maybe he still speaks all shakespearan and formal, does he still make bodily threats to people? If Damian is still threatening people at 14 why can't danny?
#dpxdc#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#tldr danyal al ghul has a ton of missed potential of what his behavior would be like if he left the league mid-to-late formative years#this post is specifically directed towards those danyal al ghul posts where he ends up with the fentons when he's like. 8#like great. who taught him to unlearn all of the LoA's programming#how is he exactly like he was in canon despite being with the LoA during his early childhood#source: i've taken multiple child development classes#this isnt to bash those aus at all its just me thinking its hilarious that danny would even remotely be like his canon personality#especially if he's in the league long enough for damian to remember him#like i love danyal al ghul aus i just think there's not enough being taken into account about how the league would permanently impact him#especially if he leaves later on in life#people are not ponds they are puddles of mud. if you drop a rock into it it's gonna change its shape#its also good creative exercises on how to flesh characters out better and better understand how things in a story may impact a character#good thought exercises with the additional bonus of making danny a violent gremlin like damian is#i dont wanna say this is bashing but i guess it is kinda a criticism on the writing in those aus because you’re telling me this had NO#affect on danny on his personality beyond just ‘oh league bad. league scary’?? cmonnn have some fun#like you mean to tell me that being a child assassin had no lasting impact on him or his personality?? like at all???#he doesnt have an ounce of self-importance/arrogance/anger like damian did?? like none of that *stuck?* he’s just the normal and sane#sibling right off the bat??? five years with the fentons turned him into a complete blankslate?? he has no lasting impact from the league??

I’m gonna miss LAES but I’m happy it got a satisfying conclusion and it feels good for it to end where it is. The ending isn’t abrupt or leaving any massive plot lines to the abyss
The channel existed in the lore as Earth’s way of helping Lunar start getting back to some sense of normal and overcoming his past trauma and in the end Lunar got to that point. He’s moved past his own past and moved on with his life joining the Astrals and moving to space and Earth is now in the perfect place in her life to just live. Her dad is gone, she has her family, her friends, her partner.
It was fun while it lasted but hey all good things come to an end and I’m grateful that the show happened. I actually saw a lot of myself in Lunar from the first time he was introduced in SAMS and found myself relating to Earth a lot throughout LAES so in a kinda goofy(?) way I guess the show ending this way, with a fulfilling happy ending (although bittersweet but what ending of a beloved piece of media ISN’T bittersweet), sorta helps me really think that “hey if these fictional animatronics I weirdly relate to a little too much can have happy endings maybe life isn’t so sucky”
I don’t usually do personal rants on my tumblr because this is just kinda my place for my silly goofy thoughts and writing and whatever else but eh, the feels are kinda hitting me with this one just a tad. I will say I thought I’d be WAY more upset today after Earth’s goodbye but it genuinely left me kinda hopeful and excited for the future of the channel.
And pushing aside fear of sounding cringey thank you Kat and Reed for bringing LAES to life and putting in so much work, it really was amazing to watch the show.

Some of the above is SO RIGHT. So in this response, please remember OP ( @cruxofitall )has banger analysis. I am kicking my feet, I love when you guys put on your thinking hats.
Tango still has a life after Jimmy. He does focus on how much he (and his family) sacrificed for him to go to school and use his big brain, and because of that he knows his purpose.
The thing here, is that Tango would willingly give up his friendships if it means Jimmy gets to keep them. He would continue with his life and keep his one friend (Zed) (and lets be honest, TIES are not letting Tango go. even Tango's worst case senario is impossible. His friends have big enough hearts to love both Tango and Jimmy), and his degree and keep going. He would survive after Jimmy.
Tango is used to making sacrifices. That's his thing. He gives up parts of himself so he can succeed. He doesn't play about his education. Even if he and Jimmy break up, he has his education. That's the only constant because it's one he built himself.
Also on this: Tango has shown in just these four chapters that Jimmy is different for him. Jimmy is something worth sacrificing for.
Tango's views about love stem from his parents. His parents and their perfect love story. His parents that value love just as much as other things in life.
There is a very high chance that Tango would throw everything away for Jimmy. The question, is if Jimmy would let him.
THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TEK TALK!!! BACK TO THE ESSAY GRIND (9 more if I don't care so hard about my grade ahahaha!)
