Trans-women & cis-women can't be told apart.
So tired of people saying they "aren't attracted to trans-women" or "aren't attracted to intersex women."
You cannot tell who is cis or trans by looking at them. You cannot tell who is intersex or dyadic. You can have genital preferences, but you can't know what's in someone's pants by looking at them.
Intersex women can be cisgender. They can be AFAB. They can appear fully female externally, while having "male" or ambiguous organs internally. Or they can be fully female internally and externally, with only their chromosomes or hormones being different. (If you want to actually learn what it means to be intersex, read our post on it and reblog to spread awareness.)
And even if a cisgender woman is female, they can be altersex. They can choose to have their genitals altered. They can choose to go on hormones of some kind.
Equally, trans women can be intersex. They can have a vulva. Or they can be transsex, and have a vaginoplasty or vulvoplasty.
A cis woman could be intersex and have atypical genitals.
A trans woman could be intersex and have a vulva.
A trans woman could have a vulva from bottom surgery.
A cis woman could have been born with a vulva, but due to being altersex, have their genitals changed through bottom surgery.
A cis woman could be bulky, have a deep voice, have lots of body or facial hair, and a prominent Adams apple, due to being intersex, altersex and using hormones, or just straight up genetics.
A trans woman could be petite, have a light voice, have very little hair, and no Adams apple due to being intersex, altersex/transsex, or just straight up genetics.
A cis woman could have no uterus and/or ovaries, due to being intersex or having a hysterectomy or oophorectomy.
A cis woman could have testicles due to being intersex, or being altersex and having prosthetic testes.
A trans woman could have a uterus and/or ovaries due to being intersex.
Saying you are "only attracted to cis-women" is just ignorance, transphobia, intersexism, and altersexism. You don't know what you are talking about. You are implying that trans or intersex women look "less feminine" or "less like a woman." You are WRONG if you think that.
Yes, transphobes and intersexists unfortunately can sometimes clock a trans or intersex women, but cisgender dyadic women are also being accused of "not passing" constantly by transvestigators. That's our point. PASSING AND NOT PASSING IS CISNORMATIVE AND RIDICULOUS.
This goes for people who claim not to be attracted to trans or intersex men too. But its more often seen for trans and intersex women.

I'm fucking terrified that if I don't pass I'll still be a disgusting evil male just pretending to be good enough. I need to be good enough. But if I look in the mirror and see anything even a little bit male then I don't know what I'll do. I want to be good enough, I need to be good enough.
I don't know much about HRT, but if I still look disgusting and evil and male then what's the point? The nice woman I'm talking to says it might take up to 10 years to look perfect but I don't think I'll be alive by then.
I don't know much about surgical options to make me look human. I know hair removal exists but I need to be good enough and there aren't any real options for biological morality. I need to be perfect like every woman is and I need to be good enough for myself too.
I don't care about bottom surgery that much because the current options aren't real and I hate my maleness too much to look down there and I doubt anyone will ever see how much of a failure I am. And it's really complicated for me and I hate it I hate it but none of the options are good enough.
I don't care what other people think of me (I very much care what they think of me but about this it's just what I want for myself) because even if they all think I'm a person instead of a male, if I have ever existed as a male then I fundamentally lack all value and will never be worth anything. If I can't get my memories taken away then I don't think I'll ever be happy. If I can't lie to myself that I was always a woman and I don't notice anything evil in the mirror then what's the point??? I only want to be good enough.

part of the reason i chose the surgeon I did is his approach to vulvaplasty is basically "putting the skin parts back where they should be. and he uses like-for-like skin for each.

One thing I don't see discussed enough when it comes to grs for trans women are the options available - specifically one surgery type.
It's called vulvoplasty, aka dimple-depth or zero-depth. And I don't see it talked about nor often hear of it being offered by many surgeons to their patients.
Even though she may want female genitals, not every trans woman wants penetrative intercourse for a variety of reasons. She may be asexual or just lesbian or just averse to the prospect of it. She may not be able to handle the extreme invasiveness of a full vaginoplasty, either physically or mentally. She may be averse to the prospect of having to dilate. There are many reasons why someone may not want vaginoplasty but still want vulvoplasty, and they are all valid.
But the point I'm trying to make is that vulvoplasty needs to be in the conversations around grs for trans women and it's not often talked about.

So... I found out about genital nullification surgery yesterday and I am deeply intrigued. Probably won't ever pursue it for the same reasons I'm probably not going to get vulvoplasty, but damn. I really wish this shit was hot-swapable

i dont know why more people dont talk about this stuff and im a dude not a woman, but if any trans women following me need to hear it, vaginoplasty/vulvoplasty look indistinguishable from natal vaginas and anyone who tells you different is an idiot who doesnt know what vaginas look like. i think its difficult for trans ppl to recognize that bottom surgery outcomes r like super fucking good for whatever their gender is for a lot of reasons (the transphobic way ppl talk abt bottom surgery is a big one) but also i dont think it helps that even a lot of cis ppl dont rly know all the different ways genitals can look and function. especially that r different from porn
make the srs decision on ur own based on ur own needs and goals but i saw a woman say she was waiting for a vagina transplant the other day and it surprised me a lot cuz bottom surgery outcomes look so fucking good. u dont rly need to do that no one would be able to tell u werent born with ur vagina or anything. anyone who tells you that theres some massive difference is just bullshitting you to make you feel bad. even if u cant self lubricate (im pretty sure they can do that now but idk im not a trans woman, in the instance u Cant) there r tons of ppl born w vaginas who cant self lubricate. needing lube when you have penetrative sex is super normal. it doesnt make u less of a woman for it
trans communities can be kind of gender segregated when it comes to medical stuff cuz we tend to have different needs so i think its just hard for ppl to be aware of stuff like this if ur only talking to ppl who share ur experience w it. its useful for ppl to point out how great results of things like vaginoplasty or phalloplasty are (cuz they r crazy good and cool). u kind of need people like that there cuz its easy to get in ur head abt it and a lot of ppl dont even rly understand how genitals look or function anyway. i mean we're all adults we know porn isn't really accurate but but vaginas and penises have a rly huge range with how they look anyway. get a good doctor and everything but like genitals post-op look great and work great. phallo and meta r super fucking good too while im here, this isnt relevant to transfems but its important ppl know this on a bottom surgery convo. stop being shitty and acting like the far-off future of genital transplants is the only way trans people can possibly be happy comfortable and dysphoria-free. post-op vaginas and penises r real vaginas and penises

You aren't "transitioning wrong."
If you are intersex and desire surgery or HRT, and you desire surgery or HRT that will make you "perisex-passing", you aren't a traitor to the intersex community, and you are not the reason why doctors medically abuse other intersex people. You are allowed to experience dysphoria or disconnect about your intersex traits, or euphoria at the thought of having different traits.
If you are a perisex cis woman or perisex cis man who is altersex or transsex, you are not appropriating trans and intersex healthcare by seeking sex reassignment surgery or HRT. Sex incongruence is just as valid as gender incongruence.
If you are a trans woman or transfem who desires to keep your "masculine" sex traits, or a trans man or transmasc who desires to keep your "feminine" sex traits, you are not a "faker" or any less transfem or transmasc. Whatever makes you most comfortable is all that matters, and socially transitioning has its own sets of challenges.
If you are a transmasc or transfem who desires to transition in an "androgynous" or "neutral" way (penile-preserving vaginoplasty/vulvoplasty, simple-release metoidioplasty, phalloplasty without vaginectomy, genital nullification, etc), you are not a "faker" or "transandrogynous/transneutral in denial." Your genitals don't have to fit into traditional standards of masculinity or femininity to reflect how your gender feels to you.
If you are transandrogynous, transneutral, transxenine, transoutherine, or transaporine, and you desire a "feminine" or "masculine" physical transition, or don't desire to physically transition at all, you aren't a "transtrender" or "transfem/transmasc in denial." Gender is complex, and all that matters is that you feel androgynous/neutral/xenine/outherine/aporine in your body.
If you are multigender or have a mixed gender, and you only want to transition in one particular direction (ie; being transmasc & transxenine, but only transitioning xeninely), you aren't "betraying" or "faking" the other part of your gender/your other gender(s). You are allowed to express whatever aspects of your identity that you want.
If you are genderqueer or altersex and incapable of physically transitioning due to a disability (physical or neurological) or financial status, you are not any less valid, nor does it take away from your identity.

what do u even do first for bottom surgery? (letters/consultation/hair removal)? and how difficult is it to get it covered by insurance? also do u have tips on picking a surgeon (and i have to travel because the couple of them in my state have several year wait lists just for consultations)
my first step was getting referred to my surgeon by my primary care doctor. he specializes in trans healthcare so i asked for a list of recs in the city and he gave me one and then i chose one on the list and he sent the referral. once they got the referral, the clinic required that i have at least one letter sent in before scheduling the consult, so i got my first one and went from there. i got vulvoplasty instead of vaginoplasty (no hole) so i didn't need any hair removal
my insurance is pretty good and covered it without much hassle, but i know the clinic i went through did a lot of the work once i had both my letters.
and as far as picking surgeons, i live in a big city so i had a lot of choices right here, i just looked them up off the list my doctor gave and read their like about pages and stuff and saw if anyone had posted like i guess "reviews" on reddit or other websites. it was still almost 2.5 years from referral -> surgery though, even with choosing to swap surgeons to another in the clinic to get in faster (she was just starting to offer the surgery, but she was working directly under my first choice and the first choice was assisting on the surgery and i NEEDED surgery so i took the chance)

I got bottom surgery (vulvoplasty specifically), I was worrying about the appearance of my vulva until I came to the realization that I don't know what the fuck a vulva looks like.
I've only seen one in my life and I don't watch porn really (I'm ace LMAO) SO HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT ONE LOOKS LIKE
Anyways cue 6am freakout and I figure out my vulva looks normal because I had to look up AFAB anatomy to understand what exactly the fuck a vulva was comprised of
ANYWAYS IF ANY AMAB ACE TRANS FOLX OUT HERE COULD LEARN FROM MY BLUNDER, LOOK UP AFAB ANATOMY SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE FUCK A VULVA LOOKS LIKE BEFORE FREAKING OUT
