every time queer discourse surges on this site everyone is so quick to jump to “it was actually the evil lesbians who divided us” because y’all heard the term “political lesbian” and never bothered to figure out what that meant

I'm sure he'd realistically be the quiet kind of drunk guy but can you imagine ghost being all lovey dovey when he's drunk?? clinging to you (who stayed sober to witness him like this) and kissing you through the mask, probably forgetting he has it on. I still think he'd keep his monotonous tone and blank slate expression because he's got a reputation to uphold!!! but his actions are very all over you. That's all
oh my god anon EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS!!
Simon is without a shadow of a doubt a quiet drunk, but I also know that his inhibitions are going to be so much lower than usual. So much more than his usual subtle brushes of his fingers against yours when he's sure no one's watching. Soap and Gaz would be sat at the other end of the bar staring at Ghost like he's grown two heads as he wraps his hands around you from behind and nuzzles (fucking nuzzles?!) his masked face into the top of your head.
But also YES!! His clinginess would absolutely be the only way you could tell he'd had too much to drink. He wouldn't slur a word, could play darts in the dingy corner of the bar and still get a bullseye with every throw (cocky motherfucker knows it too, i just know he'd make eye contact with you every time the tip of the dart sinks into the red fibre of the dart board, watching for your open approval at his skill). So until you came around, the team didn't even know if he could get drunk. They just assumed he had a tolerance of pure fucking steel.
And the kissing with the mask on shut UP. Him humming confusedly as you just laugh at his expense, him trying to figure out why the fuck your lips felt fuzzy instead of the soft skin he's used to kissing. It'd take him entirely too long to realise that the skull balaclava was still very much in place, mumbling profanities under his breath at the sheer audacity of the black material to be in his way in the first place.
I like to think Johnny goes to tease him about the way he's playing with your fingers in his gloved grasp, about how weirdly, adorably innocent it makes this 6'4 absolute killing machine look, but then he gets the signature Ghost Glare™ and realises that you're very much the only one he will ever be soft for, sober or drunk.
GOD ANON, I have so many thoughts about Simon, but drunk affectionate Simon is a whole new ball game and I am very much suffering, so thank you for this <33

fascinating that the biphobes, who say that BG3 companions are not accurate as bisexuals/pansexuals, literally haven’t played the game!! they don’t know the characters or who they flirt with and choose to sleep with.
a textpost said that everyone is allowed to play the game as they want and romance characters with a character of any gender and one person commented that OP is a homophobe and Astarion “would be the biggest gay if not for making everyone playersexual.” I clicked on the username and they have a post stating “will buy that game just to play as the furry albino elf and have homophobes watch him get fucked by every dude” ok. sounds fun, I will do the same, I’ll simply also fuck every women. but no.when not everyone is playersexual, 80% of them just end up straight. the remainder mostly still bi and they would deny the bisexuality of those few as well. why do they feel so comfortable attacking bisexuality that they will even comment on bi characters when they are unfamiliar with a given piece of fiction
#if I never watched a tv show/read a book/played a game I sure don’t go on people’s posts#and make accusing statements towards fans how they are wrong to interpret characters AS THEY ARE IN CANON#also this is typical rhetoric that bi men are actually just gay (and bi women are just straight because everyone only wants men)#biphobia#anyway they don’t care what it’s like for bi people to hear this#that a person got called a homophobe for pointing out that bi/pan character IS bi/pan and bi people do sleep with women#they literally say they haven't bought the game yet#wtf#why have an opinion?#when I want to engage in conversation about characters/story first I watch/read/play that story#my post#my posts#tumblr bullshit#bisexual#characters#text post#Baldur's Gate 3#BG3#textposts#also there is definitely an element of misogyny in this...#after all I haven't seen anyone demanding that the bi female companions should only be paired with women#no it's the typical fandom thing where only male/male pairings are allowed and female charactes are treated like shit and pushed to the side#female characters not allowed in male/female pairings not even when both are bi/pan and potentially poly#and female/female pairings are just so rare they almost never show up...#and like I always say bi people get shit from both sides#the conservative side of this DOES exist... people who are annoyed that larian showed him making out with a man#it's just that they are an extreme minority on this website#but just because those conservatives and homophobes exist doesn't mean it makes it ok to deny a bi character's attraction to women#both are wrong and both are biphobic#both are a form of erasure

You are valid.
To asexual alloromantic people, you are valid.
To aromantic allosexual people, you are valid.
Even if you're heterosexual or heteroromantic, you still are valid.
If your romantic and sexual identities don't align and you are allo, you are valid.
If you're trans, you are valid.
If you're non-binary, or any other gender that can't be described as man or woman, you are valid.
If you use neopronouns, you are valid.
Don't let anyone tell you you aren't. The LGBT community shouldn't exclude anyone that is queer.
I can't believe this isn't obvious to some people. I can't believe how many queer people are hateful to other queer people. Don't do that.
Just because you don't understand someone's identity, doesn't mean it isn't valid. You don't even have to understand it, just respect it.
It's literally so much easier to not hate on people.

This has probably been said before but I really hate/get a laugh out of when people say shit along the lines of:
“Well yeah the Fire Nation was bad and all but they employed female soldiers so at least they weren’t sexist yk 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️”
Like,,,,, my brother in Christ,,,,,
I feel that I don’t even need to explain this but I will.
The Fire Nation from 1-100AG was an imperialist selfish conquest. They committed genocide over one nation, leaving a single survivor. They killed and tortured and traumatised millions of innocent citizens just at the notion that they were ‘spreading their glory’. It was a mass regime that took away culture and community from what was a beautiful and peaceful place to live. The Firelords from Sozin up until Zuko were cruel and autocratic and only wanted what their twisted view of love and fame was from the world. This all continued for one hundred motherfucking years and only came to a stop when the Avatar finally returned, only came to a stop when someone was brave enough, had nothing to lose, was so shamed and guilted by a genocide of their people that wasn’t even his fault. That’s what the Fire Nation was.
So to hear some people say shit like ‘well at least they weren’t sexist’….
Maybe they weren’t. Maybe they did employ female soldiers and treat them like people. But you know who they didn’t treat like people? The rest of the entire fucking world.
They dehumanised the airbenders, made them seem violent and warped their citizens views of them to make sure there was no empathy. They discriminated against the Water Tribes, thought them weak and inferior and didn’t even bother with the South after they’d wiped them out due to their own cockiness. They destroyed and damaged the Earth Kingdom, forever traumatising and devastating so many citizens to the point where some resorted to robbery and murder and crime.
So maybe the Fire Nation itself didn’t treat women unfairly, but they did to the rest of the world. It’s okay to make that as a general statement, but to use that as a justification for everything they did?
Completely fucking insane.
To bring some light to this, one of the responses I could’ve come up with when I saw shit like this was just:

watching someone's children is work, and people aren't entitled for asking to be paid for working. where did you get that idea /genq
I got that idea from actually learning about other cultures and breaking the hold western capitalist individualism had on my ideas of how the world works
I'm not saying put up a sign on the street saying free daycare, I'm saying that if someone trusts you enough to ask to watch their kids, that has the potential to be a great friendship if you like, actually help them out. I'm not saying never say no or that you are necessarily an asshole for asking to be paid, I'm saying that they aren't entitled or selfish for asking for help from people they trust.
I just don't get this modern entitlement and individualism where like, a friend confiding in you and seeking advice or a listening ear is seen as 'emotional labor' and shit like that. Like. Humans naturally want to help each other and it's so weird to me seeing people just refuse to like... be nice. It's about building community.
Children are raised communally in sooo many cultures and have been throughout most of history, the modern western idea of the nuclear family is so unhealthy for both parent and kid.

Torn between wanting to speak and encourage other women to speak about abuse and trauma they've suffered from men and living in a misogynistic society but also not wanting them to do that too publicly because men are unempathetic monsters who harrass, dox and threaten women who do so.

I'll never understand women who joins group that are hell bent on taking away their rights. I just don't get it. They align themselves with people who are taking away their bodily autonomy and refuse to act to keep their children safe from mass shooters. Why?
