After a quick day off, we're back. And One Day One Shot December continues.

Today's figure was a clearance find from a few months back - Marvel Legends Cyclops, from the Age of Apocalypse line.

A cyclops from an alternate reality that dares to ask "what if cyclops drank redbulls and punched holes in his walls"

I'm not a huge Marvel Legends collector, but I couldn't pass this one up. The price was a huge factor, but also love this one-off story redesigns. And I have a huge soft spot for Age of Apocalypse.

Great sculpt, especially on the hair and the asymmetrical armor. Incredible colors on this (mostly unpainted) plastic. I love the scuffing and bronze tarnish effect they got on the gold armor.

Found this Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse Magneto on sale with a Rogue and had to get them.

I'm satisfied with quality/price I paid for but one does notice the difference with more recent models. The joints are stiffer and I worry I'm being a bit too rough when posing him and Rogue. I did appreciate the little effects they added to the box. :D

Added the '97 Magneto head to the AoA body and liked the look. I probably should get myself the other '97 variant...

He is fun to pose though! Makes for good drawing reference.

Generation X is an oddity. It came out during the peak of X-Men's popularity, illustrated by a rising star artist (Chris Bachalo), ran for seven years, had a crappy TV movie (which whitewashed Jubilee), but has more of less been forgotten about. Unlike other X-Tiles from that time it has only been revived once, and while the cast is still used regularly in other books, they never seemed to develop an unbreakable, ride or die bond like other X-Teams.

I swaer to god it's like every month or two some bitchless anime jerking off to 1000000+ years old underage-looking women fan starts talking about how DC or marvel comics are dead or how they don't bring them any money.

Like there should be a moment where you stop and go like "Huh, maybe these soulless companies are still making comics because they are selling and I'm saying this because I think manga selling better than comics is gonna make my dick bigger :0"

Shut the fuck up, comics are gonna continue to exist fucking cope with it.

sometimes comic writing is silly in that “they’re all shooting off one-liners while they punch each other” but the thing is when its done badly you NOTICE. the reaction isn’t "oh yeah i guess this is media for children but also this is spider-man.” when its done badly the response is a) about five seconds trying to understand what the joke is meant to be, b) a slightly baffled “is that meant to be... funny?” and then c) they would NOT say that they would NOT
