I'm morbidly curious about what happened on Crowley's end in the Rain series. Did he feel regret for what he didn't do?
I may or may not have a part planned that'll be focusing on him. . .😈

HIIIIIIIII sooo do you like... write for yuuka hirasaka?.. 💃🏼
Not currently, but that's mostly because I don't know much about the manga. I may when I learn some more though!

Hiii! Can I make art of your series of ramshackle breaking down? If you’re comfortable I’ll do it with my self insert! If not I’ll just add a generic yuu
OMG, I'M SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO REPLY!!! (my inbox is swamped) Absolutely!!! If you do, could you tag me so I can see? I love seeing people's Yuusonas!
(Also, if you end up drawing it, I may reblog w/ a drawing of my yuusona or my yuu placeholder with yours if that's okay with you! <333)
Edit: That goes the same for anyone btw! I love seeing people's art 😊

Midnight Visits

Part ten of The Rain series
Synopsis: Rook and Che'nya sneak into the infirmary on two separate nights to visit the recovering Prefect.
TW: Broken bone, entering without breaking, Rook Hunt
A/N: Writing block sucks. Sorry it took so long but I was finally able to form words how I wanted to again!
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10 (here), Part 11 (coming soon), . . .

Waking up the next morning you were undoubtedly better rested than you had been in a long time, but you were also a little peeved at a certain fae for spelling you to sleep in order to avoid your topic of discussion.
And boy were you happy you slept so good because the rest of the morning was a blur of tests and Styx staff. A good portion of your bandages had been removed by now. Your stomach, head, and select spots on your arms and legs were now freed from bandages. The staff decided you were far enough along in the treatment and that your body was reacting well enough to magical treatments, despite them being foreign to you, that they could do some more intensive procedures and repair your broken bones. The casts were removed, and while the bones were definitely healed now, the places where the cracks and splinters used to be were unbelievably sore. According to the doctors, this soreness would last about a week. And, over this week, you wouldn't be allowed any visitors.
The first couple days passed unbearably slowly. Nothing to do, nobody to talk to, you couldn't even play the games Idia left you because you were too sore. The TV (a gift from Idia as well) had timed out and so you were left to stare at the ceiling and hallucinate patterns in the grain of the stone.
"That spot looks like Roi du Lions."
You nearly jumped out of your skin. Your body ached in protest and a pained yelp ripped from your throat. You could barely see a mop of blonde hair out of your peripherals. "Rook?" you winced.
"Oui" came his unbothered response. Likely understanding how sore you were at the moment, Rook moved to sit on the edge of your bed so you could properly see him. He looked the same as usual except for some very distinctive leaves in twigs that were tangled in his hair. They were from a tree of which there was only one on campus. That tree was outside the window to the room you were now sickeningly familiar with.
You didn't bother asking how he managed to get inside the room, the slight breeze you felt tickling your cheeks answered that question rather clearly. Instead, you asked: "How long were you in the tree?"
Rook gave you his signature cryptic smile. "Only three days this time. Worry not. I packed myself rations for my stay in the canopy."
You ignored the absurdity of his statement mostly and asked: "This time?"
"Oui!"
You stared at him.
His face remained in a close eyed smile. He looked like a fox.
"Rook-"
"Oh! Do not look at me with such an expression! I simply could not simply allow my beloved Trickster to lay all alone whilst they battled so valiantly!"
You managed to decipher his flowery words ad essentially being him saying he had been in the tree for some duration between the time you first got admitted and now in order to keep an eye on you. You didn't bother asking if it was an occasional thing of if he was up there the whole time. You weren't sure you wanted to hear the answer.
Despite everything, Rook seemed to be at his usual level of weirdness. You were just about to wright him off as being the one who took all of this the best when a phone screen flickered before your face.
"My first stint was for 4 weeks! I was in such a rush to be by your side that I hadn't even brought rations and supplies with me! I had to rely on Monsieur Crabapple and Roi du Poison to bring me food and water in exchange for information on your condition." On his phone screen flickered an image of an unruly and wild looking Rook. His hair was far from its usual neatness, dirt and mud dirtied his clothes and complexion, his usual cleanshaven face was prickly with stubble, and he overall looked like he had just survived a month living like a beast in the forest. "Roi du Poison was quite cross with me when I finally returned, but his heart was not in his scolding."
"Wait. . .were you out there throughout the entire storm?" you croaked, memories of the storm conjured from Malleus' emotion flashed through your mind. How had he survived that?
Rook simply smiled and reached a hand up to brush the hair from your face.
He didn't stay much longer after that. He left declaring you needed rest. As he left you realized. . .his hair was much longer.
The next few nights after Rook's visit were peaceful. Your soreness was now just a dull ache of a memory of its prior intensity. You were absentmindedly staring up at the TV across the room, watching some old cartoon professor Trein had brought over CDs of saying his sons loved it when they were younger and perhaps you would too. It was the last night of your recovery period. Tomorrow you would get to see another of your friends.
You finally decided to turn off the cartoons and go to bed for the night when you began to see flashes of pink and cartoony looking smiles out of the corners of your eyes.
You flicked off the television and were about to lay down when- "Aww. I liked that one."
You surprised even yourself by not being startled by the voice. Perhaps you'd had a suspicion in the back of your mind that you hadn't been simply hallucinating.
"Well it's no fun if you don't jump" a floating head materialized above the mattress beside you and huffed.
"Hello, Che'nya"
The mattress beside you dipped as a body materialized to go along with the head. "Hello, Little Prefect." Che'nya grinned back. "You really have set the whole island into a uproar, you know."
"I'm sure that's an exaggeration." you sigh. NRC was understandable since it's the school you go to and therefore you knew a lot to the people there and they knew you. RSA was too to an extent since you had a couple friends there. But the whole island? Maybe the press was annoying the townsfolk?
"Oh, but it's not" Che'nya coos. "I don't think you realize it, Little Prefect, but you've wiggled yourself into lives and hearts of many people here." As he spoke, his tail flicked lazily around. "Neige was nearly inconsolable."
Your eyes flick over to the bouquet on your windowsill. You received it pretty soon after the incident and a spell had been cast on it to keep the flowers from wilting.
"And I was hardly in any shape to do any consoling myself." Suddenly his soft tail coils around your leg while his fingers intertwine with yours.
"Che'nya" you sigh. "Stop joking."
The beastman laughs at your blank expression but tucks his head under your chin. "I'm not." he pouts.
You open your mouth to reprimand him once more but stop and close it again when you feel his grip on your hand tighten ever so slightly.
The room falls silent and you soon fall asleep. When you wake up in the morning Che'nya is gone but the side of the bed on which he laid the night before is still warm.
You can't help but remember how the way he clung to you last night felt more. . .desperate than usual.

You were absentmindedly staring up at the TV across the room, watching some old cartoon professor Trein had brought over CDs of saying his daughters loved it when they were younger and perhaps you would too.

Everytime I get a notification of someone interacting with "The Rain is Especially Loud Tonight" (pt 1 of The Rain) I pray for their soul.
(Seriously though, not about the praying part, but I know they're in for a wild ride that I'm responsible for 😭)

Who needs true love's kiss when you have a deity!

Summary: Deity reader makes Lilia their familiar to revive him.
TW: Reader kisses Lilia while he's asleep (I swear it's not as weird as it sounds. It's to revive him), Chap 7 spoiler, thing happens to Lilia that I can't specify here cause it's a chap 7 spoiler
Pairing: Lilia x Deity Reader
Note: I'm basing this off of a variety of different media but you'll probably be able to tell that a lot of the inspiration for how everything works and whatnot comes from Kamisama Kiss. However, some of it is also just me bullsh*ting. Also, the pacing is really bad and it's all pretty rushed, but to keep this note short I'll explain more in the note at the end. So, for now, sorry in advance!

The overblot was over, but it appeared that Lilia was as well. That was, until the overwhelming love from his family restarted his heart and whispered air into his lungs.
You watched on as his breathing started once more, but his eyes did not open. His body was revived, but his magic was still weak.
Before you knew it you began walking forward, ignoring Idia's quiet warning that this wasn't the right time. Of course, you knew this was a family matter.
You breezed between Malleus, Silver, and Sebek's forms that were still hunched down over Lilia's body. Before they could ask-
*Kiss*
Malleus and Silver were too shocked to speak, their jaws hanging open. Sebek, however quickly snapped out of his daze. The action was maddening enough, but what was worse was your nonchalant expression as you sat back up on your knees from leaning over Lilia.
In a flash, Sebek had tackled you, pinning you to the ground with fire in his eyes that somehow stayed alight despite the tears trying to drown it.
Chaos erupted once more as people tried to pull Sebek off of your still calm form.
A cough.
Then a groan.
Sebek's fists immediately released your collar as Lilia's form finally came alive.
Lilia shakily tried to sit up and Silver immediately reached behind him to provide support. Sebek rushed over to do the same. The two, joined by Malleus, bawled around Lilia, clutching him tightly as if scared he's slip away again if they let go.
It was a good while later that you finally stood up from where Sebek had had you pinned. You stretched your limbs before wincing slightly and rubbing your lower back. The motion drew attention from the little huddle and Sebek once more got up. He stomped over to you and grabbed your collar, lifting you up slightly.
"YOU-"
"What? Did you want me to let him die again?" One of your arms came up to grip Sebek's wrist just tight enough to make him let you go.
He blinked before his face turned enraged once more, but, before he could lunge at you once more, Malleus spoke up: "Child of man. What was the meaning of your actions? What is this about 'not letting him die once more'"
"Surely you are not arrogant enough to believe that a kiss from you would be one of true love!" Sebek once more barks.
You ignore him and move to kneel next to Lilia. Sebek seems to want to stop you, but Malleus gives him a look and he reluctantly stops. You bring a hand up to Lilia's face and brush his bangs from his forehead, slightly narrowing your eyes as you examine it. Lilia blinks before giving a weak smile and, in an attempt to lighten the mood, jokes: "What? Do I have something on my face?"
"Not that anyone here is capable of seeing"
Silver finally speaks up "Prefect. . ."
"Right, sorry. Explanation." you hum, removing your hand from Lilia's forehead "I forged a familiar contract with him." You raise a hand before anyone can freak out "By doing so I transferred a significant amount of my own power to him. He will not die unless I do or the contract is nullified. And, worry not, I will not be facing death anytime soon."
Malleus gives you a doubtful look you'd never seen him direct at you but asks: "Child of man, are you not but a magicless human?"
"I may have never corrected anyone, but I also never said I was- I mean *ahem* no." you clear your throat and clarify properly when you get a handful of agitated looks directed at you. "Anyway, I won't actually expect you to act as a familiar," you look back at Lilia "you will not be forced to do as I say either. That only happens if I put strong emotion and intent behind my words, and I don't plan to do that."
The room falls quiet, the only sound being Idia's quiet, panicked murmurs to himself as he debates if he should leave or not.
"So you kissed me?"
"That's what you focus on-!"
"Yes. That is how the contract is sealed" you cut off Silver's uncharacteristically exasperated comment. "I do apologize for doing so without asking, but I figured it was best to give you the chance to choose."
"Choose?" Malleus mutters.
"If he would like to take my offer, but, also, if he'd like to continue on living."
Malleus, Silver, and Sebek all seem to choke in unison. "What is the meaning of your statement, Human!" Sebek once more grabs your collar, making you sigh.
"You may wish for him to live longer, but, ultimately, it's his choice. I have known many who did not wish to live on after they got a taste of eternity. A long lifespan sounds great until you are actually made to experience it." You once more direct your gaze to Lilia "I will not force you to remain in this existence if it is not what you desire."
"You would kill me?" he ask bluntly, his face somewhat curious and. . .smug?
"No, but I would break the contract. You wouldn't have long after that."
The space around you is unusually quiet and the realization of such makes Lilia scan the room curiously.
"I froze them." you explain "They can hear us, but they won't be able to move or speak. I wish to hear your uninfluenced feelings, Lilia. Of course, if you need time-"
"I accept."
". . .huh?"
"I would be lying if I said I hadn't wished to pass on at points, but. . .I think I can endure a while longer. Afterall, I have yet to see some parts of this world. Nor have I had the chance to see my children finish growing up" his serene and soft expression almost causes a pang in your heart, but then he opens his mouth again "And I have also yet to see them give me grandkids." Lilia cackles.
Despite their frozen states, a blush noticeably creeps onto Silver and Sebek's faces.
"But I have one more question."
"Go ahead."
"If you aren't a human," Lilia smirks and leans in "What are you?~"
With a snap of your fingers the space is unfrozen "It wouldn't be as much fun if I told you." You hum, standing up. A playful pout forms on Lilia's face and you laugh "Alright, Alright. I'm kidding"
A cloud of smoke explodes from your form and when it clears you're attire has been replaced with extravagant silks that drape over your form and drag on the ground making you look nothing short of ethereal. However, what's more alarming are the fox ears now protruding from your head and the nine tails swaying behind you. "I'm a god, of course~"
Perhaps you should have waited to reveal your form so the shrieks of surprise didn't kill your now much more sensitive ears.

Note: I don't think I did very well on the pacing of this one, but I didn't want to make it a whole 50 page manuscript. Anyway, I know the ending is unsatisfying, so if enough people want to see more I'll make another part <3 (I kinda wanna make this a series anyway)

Trey finds this mildly annoying at first till it dawns on him. The pc totally scolds him for late night baking. Then he pretty much realizes he's scolded his younger siblings the same way with the same words. Now he finds it cute and funny since the pc is treating him as family. Now trey texts the pc to check if they brushed their teeth or shows up in person.
I love domestic fics!!
Synopsis: Trey likes to bake in the middle of the night and you nag him to stop.
TW: None
Pairing: Trey Clover x Reader

The oven light illuminates the kitchen in a soft, somewhat comforting glow. It's the kind of comfort that one really only feels on those late nights when they're unable to sleep and their stomach, being conscious for once during the long night, lets them know that they must eat now or face the wrath of 1,000 hangry butterflies as they frantically try to escape their stomach.
And oh, are those butterflies pissy tonight.
Ramshackle got a hole in the roof again, and, because the gods love you so much, they made sure the hole was opened right above your bed! As much as you would love a skylight to gaze out of at the stars in the most ungodly of hours, you don't like rain, bird poop, debris, and a surprising amount of mice (and a single racoon you named stupid idiot in a fit of rage one can only feel when they're woken up at 2 am by a racoon cannonballing onto their face) falling on your head and jolting you awake with the fear that the building really is coming down this time. And so, it was decided that you'd stay in Heartslabyul for the time being. Luckily, you managed to totally-not-blackmail the headmaster and he scheduled repairs proptly.
And thank sevens for that because you were tired. The floor is about as soft as your mattress back at Ramshackle, so you have no problem sleeping on the floor, but Ace and Deuce (mostly Ace) have been making it absolutely impossible to sleep. If they aren't away and pelting you with pillows, they're snoring loud enough to put Ramshackle's janky dryer to shame and kicking crap off their beds and onto you in their sleep.
When the butterflies in your stomach start rioting you decide you might as well get up and search the dorm's kitchen for a bite to eat. You excavate yourself from the pile of pillows and blankets unceremoniously kicked onto you and quietly slink out of the room.
The hallway is quiet and somewhat eerie in the dark, but that's the least of your worries as you're doing your best not to go tumbling down a flight of stairs or run into a wall. And you thought the dorm layout was confusing in the day.
By some miracle, you make it to the hallway where the kitchen is located. It's still rather dark, but a soft light spills from the slightly ajar door to the kitchen and provides you with some light. You hear pots and pans in a volume so quiet you didn't realize those metal jerks were capable of.
When you stumble into the kitchen you aren't all that surprised by who you see. "Trey?" you yawn, leaning against the door, your robe wrapped tightly around you for warmth.
"Ah. Prefect. Did I wake you-"
"Why the h*ll are you baking at-" you squint your eyes and look at the microwave clock "-3 in the morning"
"I couldn't sleep" he admits bashfully, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Drink tea, take a supplement, count sheep." you sigh, feeling around for one of the stools to the kitchen island to sit down.
"I know, I know" he sighs, sitting across from you, his gaze on the stove timer ticking down.
". . .so. . .can I have some?"
"Will you rat me out to Riddle?"
"Not if you share."
"Deal."
From then on, you made him set a alarm for himself if he was baking so he finished before 3 in the morning. You initially were going to try to convince him to from the hobby of baking by moonlight entirely, but he bribed you with the spoils of his labor and you were simply too broke to refuse the free food.
On Trey's end, he initially found the timer annoying, only agreeing to it to keep you from snitching to Riddle. However, after a trip back home on which he had to scold his siblings, he began to draw a comparison.
Every morning and every night he started texting you to make sure you remembered to brush your teeth. Honestly, he was touched once he realized how similar your scolding was to the scoldings he gave his little siblings and wanted to repay you for the care you showed him. Yeah, it's kinda weird to text someone twice a day to make sure they're brushing their pearly whites, but he hasn't heard you complain yet (mostly because Ace and Deuce's stories of the nightmarish Trey that appears at the foot of your bed when you don't brush and floss scared you out of it).

That moment Floyd or Jade have Azul made fake adoption papers to make the pc their sibling. Floyd says he always wanted another sibling so now he's not the youngest.
You sat there, staring in shock at the paper in front of you and the three mermen watching you expectantly.
One moment you're sat in the fountain in the botanical gardens, waiting for Professor Crewel to finish the antidote that'll make you human again and next you're sat in Azul's office with a pen in hand and adoption papers in front of you.
Reader: "This can't be legal-"
Azul: "The documents are official."
You give him a look. Avoiding the actual concern, but okay.
Reader: "We'd need their parents' permission-"
Jade: "Worry not. Floyd and I already called them to tell them the good news and they were elated."
Reader: "Well. . .Don't they need to be here or something!?"
Floyd: "They're on their way, Shrimpy~"
Reader: "FROM THE CORAL SEA?!?!?!"
You are now sat in the same position as earlier, but now with 5 mers watching you eagerly.
Reader: "I-. . .I technically don't exist in this world. I have no legal documents! Documents you'd. . .need. . .Azul, how did you make those and why do you know my blood type?"

Leona flood incoming!
Leona with a f!reader who can read people super well, very gifted in body language and reading between the lines.
So, hear me out ...it's cannon he likes to work for his success, not just have it easy or instant. There's no fun in that. Make him sweat dear reader!
He is getting away with nothing. Nada. Poor lion has met his match. Talks a big game, he's a strategist, used to being the one who can see between the lines. And boom, he's blind sided and suddenly He's the one stumbling. He's met his match. And worse, she's subtle about it. Checkmate. 💘
So, this took me way too long to get to. . .SORRY!!
Anyway, love this idea! Leona doesn't talk a ton, so someone who can read him is a perfect match!
Synopsis: Leona mentally kicks himself as he finds himself becoming more and more partial to the prefect with the piercing gaze he swore to avoid. The Prefect thinks he's just terrible at flirting (he is).
TW: Leona yells at one point but it's quickly glossed over (his anger is quelled by a lil smooch)
Pairing: Leona Kingscholar x Reader Who Can Read Him

It started just before Leona's overblot. Your friend had been taunting him but just as he was on the verge of snapping, you, out of nowhere, dragged them off. That wasn't all that odd, what was; however, was the look in your eyes. He only made eye contact with you for a brief moment, but when he did, it felt like your eyes saw into the very depths of his soul.
Leona DIDN'T like that.
The Next time it happened was as he was overblotting. Just as the viscous black ink began to surround his body, he made eye contact with you.
There was that feeling again.
After his overblot, he decided it'd be best to avoid the little magicless prefect with the unsettling stare.
That didn't happen.
In fact, he was forced much closer to you when your dorm was seized by Octavinelle and that left you to have to stay in the same room as him.
You seemed to predict every movement, change in emotion, and even thought. It's not like you were using this ability maliciously, quite the opposite actually. You used it to help him out more than anything else.
But Leona wasn't used to being seen. Not like this at least. As a prince he was used to being looked at, but never truly seen.
One evening the two of you were sitting in his room doing your own things when he started to feel hungry. Just as that feeling struck you walked into the room (when had you left?!) with snacks. You handed him one. It happened to be his favorite.
A shiver jolted through his spine.
"You good?" you look up at him.
He just huffs and rolls in bed to face away from you.
He thought he had gotten rid of you when you got your dorm back, but it appeared the gods simply hated him.
Crowley instated you as the spelldrive club's manager.
And, of course, you somehow managed to always carry out his orders before he could even give them.
It was after a spelldrive game that the next incident happened. The team had won an overwhelming victory. Everyone was in high spirits and Leona's smirk was cockier that ever.
You approached him in a moment when he was away from the rest of the team and gave his a detailed record of the game. That was pretty normal. What was strange was what you said "The team we face next week will be much tougher than the one we just faced. If we go in with this game in mind we'll be crushed. I set up a practice match with a team on a slightly higher level than the team we face next week so we don't get too comfortable."
And with that, you walked away. You just casually walked away after telling Leona exactly what was on his mind.
A chill.
This continued to happen over and over again. It was to the point that Leona was now questioning his lifelong dream of becoming king. Being seen by someone was just too unsettling.
It was family day at NRC and while Leona's family had promised to come, there was royal business they had to attend to last minute.
Most assumed Leona was elated as he wasn't exactly shy about expressing his distaste for his relatives. His face didn't show any clues that the assumption was false either as it was as stoic as always.
So why was it that when he came back to his room from begrudgingly greeting all the families who came to see his dormmates he saw you? Why did he see you sitting on the edge of his freshly made bed with freshly fluffed pillows, his favorite meal, and a set up chess board?
Why did the chill feel less unpleasant this time?
This was Leona's nightmare. No, not being up at 1:00 in the morning unable to sleep. Leona realized he liked you romantically. Out of all people, why did it have to he the one person he knew he couldn't hide anything from?!
For weeks after this realization he did his best to avoid you. When you greeted him he just gave a short huff. When you sat next to him during joint lessons his tail would flick and he would refuse to look at or talk to you. To everyone else, it looked like Leona had finally had enough and was shunning you.
It all bubbled up when he was leaving the locker room after spelldrive practice and saw you waiting for him on a bench. "Ah, you're done-"
"Would you just leave me alone?!" you weren't sure if it would be more accurate to compare his tone to a roar or a growl, but whatever it was, it sent all the nearby birds careening out of the trees.
Leona panted as he watched you agitatatedly.
Sure, you winced a little when he yelled, but you didn't run. In fact, after the initial shock, you didn't look scared either.
You casually stood up, stretched, and approached him. You stopped a few feet away before speaking: "Why would you ask me to do that if you have a crush on me? Is this some new weird confession tactic?"
He froze.
"What?"
"Whaddya mean 'what?' You've been really obvious, you know."
Leona started pacing, his tail flicking violently as he muttered to himself. "Why didn't you say something!?" he finally paused his ranting and pacing to yell.
"I thought you were just bad at flirting."
His eye twitches at that comment.
However, as he's about to open his mouth to speak, you grab his collar and pull him down to your level. Before he can react, he feels soft lips meeting his. He only realizes what's happening when you begin to pull away and he tries to chase your lips.
"Well, that's my confession" you yawn. You YAWN. You just kissed him and now you're yawning.
He's not even surprised when you read his shift in mood instantly "It's late and chasing someone playing hard to get is tiring."
Leona's eye twitches once more before he throws you over his shoulder and starts marching towards his dorm "I guess we should take a nap then, shouldn't we?" it wasn't really a question as much as it was a passive aggressive remark.
"Sure."
From that position, you couldn't see the blush rapidly creeping onto his face.
"So, we're dating now?"
"The h*ll do you think, Herbivore" the lion grumbles into your chest as his tail swishes agitatedly. You might have even thought he was upset if it wasn't for the way his arms wrapped tightly around you and his face pressed deeply into your chest. Just to test it, you slowly began removing your hand from where it was tangled into his unruly locks only to have him growl at you until you put it back.
Sure, sometimes it was impressive that you could read him, but other times he really was just too obvious.

AAAH UR REQUESTS ARE OPEN ?!?!?
Could I possibly ask for a Leona x trans man reader?
Some dysphoria hurt/comfort for the soul, reader overhears someone being transphobic after a bad day and spirals, Leona helps him out :)
I can't say I'm super knowledgeable on the topic of being transgender, but I'll try my best to depict it well! If anything is inaccurate or offensive please tell me so I can fix it! <3
Synopsis: Leona comforts trans male reader after they overhear another student making a nasty comment when they were already having a bad day.
TW: transphobia (I try to keep it light); Leona tells reader to strip (not in that way, ya nasties (thought about it tho)); deep talk; ooc Leona?; Leona calls reader a "bott-" but gets elbowed before he can finish (I wonder what he was trying to say 🤔)
Pairing: Leona Kingscholar x Trans Male Reader

Some days really do just suck, and today was one of those days. You had woken up late this morning and forgotten your bag in your rush to get ready. When you did get the chance to go get your bag during lunch it had been raining and nobody had an umbrella you could borrow so you had to run back to the dorm in the pouring rain. Once there you found out that your bag had been set right under a leak in the roof and had gotten completely soaked, ruining an assignment that was due today in the process. You had to walk umbrellaless on the way back as well because, as it turns out, your umbrella was actually in your locker. And, of course, to make things worse, you got after-school detention because of your ruined assignment. Even if Trein offered to still give you full points if you could finish the assignment that evening because he knew it wasn't your fault, it still sucked. By the time the day was over, you were still damp and entirely peeved.
You were standing under the awning outside the main doors to the school: staring at your broken umbrella and remembering why it was that you left it in your locker, but too tired to get any more upset, when you heard it.
A couple of students that were walking by were not-so-silently whispering to each other. What were they snickering about? Well, because your uniform shirt was wet you could see your binder. However, that was just what seemed to start them. After the binder comments they moved on to talk about how you'd never be a real man and make other comments that were entirely unoriginal.
Yet, no matter how many times you hear those words, they're still hurtful, and, after the day you'd had, that was all it took to push you over the edge. You walked out into the rain, trashed umbrella in your hand hanging at your side, and trudged through the flooded walkways (because of course the drains were clogged) and cried. The rain disguised your tears as you exhaustedly made your way to Ramshackle: mentally preparing yourself for the state it would be in from the rain.
Soaking wet, you make it to the last stretch to your dorm when CRACK! A branch fell a few yards in front of you: completely blocking your path home.
Before you knew it, you collapsed to the ground. You sat there crying for what felt like hours before finally tiredly standing up and stumbling to the botanical gardens. At least you would be able to take shelter there.
The door swung open with so much force you thought it would fly off the hinges or shatter when it hit the wall due to the wind that had picked up substantially since you started toward the glass structure. Luckily, neither happened and you somehow managed get the door shut behind you.
The gardens were dark, lit only by solar lights stuck into the ground on the edges of the paths and a few hanging lanterns. The structure creaked and moaned all around you and the wind and rain pelted it violently. You weren't sure where you were going, but you trudged further into the gardens with a gait that could only be described as zombie-like.
It was only when you reached a large tree near the back end of the gardens that you finally collapsed. With your back against the trunk, you pulled your knees to your chest and let your face fall into them. You were too tired to cry, but you weren't too tired to think. And think you did.
You only realized you'd been muttering to yourself the whole time when the bushes next to you started rusting and a pretty peeved looking Leona stepped out.
"What dorm?"
"Huh?"
"I'm asking you what dorm those *sshats were from." Leona sighed as he squatted in front of you.
"I di-"
"And don't say you didn't see"
". . ."
Leona sighed once again but didn't push you further. Instead, he sat in front of you and untied his uniform jacket from his waist. "Strip"
"WHAT?!" You suddenly bolted up and shrieked so loud the thunder was put to shame.
"Sevens, Herbivore! Stop screamin'! You'll get sick if you stay in those soaked clothes." Leona's ears are flat against his head as he speaks. "You can wear this. It should cover ya enough" He extends his uniform jacket to you looking away from you.
He realizes you're hesitating and drops the jacket on the ground in front of you before turning away from you fully. A deep sigh escapes his lips once more "Look, bein' a man ain't about lookin a certain way. I. . .I know it probably sucks lookin' at your body and seein'. . .well. . .not what ya want to, but I know that I for one don't see you as any less because of it. . .Bein' a real man, a good man, means being a good person. As far as I'm concerned, you've got that covered."
There's a few moment of silence before he hears the rustling of clothes. After a few moments of silence again he figures you're done and goes to turn around only to be stopped by you launching yourself at his back and holding him in place.
He seems to understand without having to ask and readjusts to once more sit facing away from you. Your arms slowly release from around his waist as you hesitantly sit with your back pressed to his.
"I'm sorry," your quiet voice speaks up from behind him "I just. . .I don't want you seeing me like this."
A gruff huff reverberates through his chest but it's not out of frustration; rather, it's out of understanding. "Like what? Looking like a bott-"
A swift elbow back shuts him up pretty quick. "No! Looking. . .well. . .feminine"
"Whatcha mean feminine? You're wearing the manliest guy in school's jacket. Ya sayin' I'd look girly if I wore it?"
You take note of Leona's wording and a hint of appreciation blooms in your chest. You know Leona isn't trying to say looking "girly" is bad despite how it may sound to someone listening in. He's trying to give you an affirmation that you can believe you look how you want. And, at the same time, he's not asking you "what's wrong with looking feminine" as so many others have in the past. He understands the state of mind you must be in right now and that it's not that you think feminine is bad, but, rather, that you need to feel secure in your identity.
"No." a soft, breathy laugh leaves your throat at the absurdity of, in your mind, the thought of Leona Kingscholar ever being perceived as "girly" is.
"Then why would it make you look like a woman?"
"Because it's swallowing me and I'm wearing it like a dress? Not to mention, . . .my thighs and most of my chest are visible. And they don't exactly scream 'man.'
Leona sighs at your words but it doesn't sound impatient or fed up. "You always tell Epel he looks manly and he has a pretty similar build to you. You need to stop using such wildly different standards for yourself."
"Leona-"
"I know, I know. That's not something you can change just by me saying it, but you need to practice to make it a mindset you can in."
You're silent. You neither agree nor protest.
"Next time ya think ya look girly or whatever, imagine me with whatever it is that makes ya feel that way."
"Huh?"
"I'm a pretty 'manly' guy, aren't I? Would I still look like a dude even if I had plush thighs, tits, or wore an oversized shirt?"
"Well. . .not exactly. But your face-"
"Nope. If I could still pass as a man with those features then so will you. I'm not saying to believe that or stop thinking negatively right this moment. Work on it."
The space falls silent of your talking, the only sound being that of the wind and rain pelting the building.
"Leona. Do you see me as a man?"
"I already told you my standards for a man, but even if we're goin' off the ones old hacks use, you got the majority. You're determined, respectful, humble, aren't bound by what other herbivores think you have to be, and you're capable."
"Then why don't I feel like it."
Leona sighs once more "I can't say, but to me it seems that at least part of it is because you don't like yourself enough."
"Of course I don't like myself, Leona" it's your turn to sigh.
"Yeah, and if ya wanna be who ya wanna be some day, ya gotta give yourself the space to."
". . .Since when did you talk so much, let alone about such deep stuff."
"Wanna see how far I can throw you?"
You sit like that for a while in silence: backs pressed against each other's in the grass.
You're the one who breaks the silence: "Leona?"
"What is it now, Herbivore."
"You can turn around"
"Eh?"
"I know I said I didn't want you seeing me like this: didn't want you seeing me the way I see me, but. . .I think I want to see me the way you see me."
Leona huffs but turns around just enough to look at you with his signature smug grin "So, are we racing to see who can influence the other first?"
"I. . .I guess so."
"Great, but I'll have you know: I don't lose."
"What about that time at the spelld-"
"Herbivore" he cuts you off "My non violence policy only extends to woman and children. You aren't either. Watch it."
That elicits a genuine laugh from you.
Within the week news comes in that the boys who had walked by and made nasty comments about you were suspended for 2 weeks. You never told Leona who it was. . ..

Pls I knew the minute it said it was raining all the time before reader had visitors in your rain series that it was Malleus. My brain told me “bro I bet it’s Malleus lol”
It's for the best he skipped the line. Otherwise the island probably would have been flooded 😭
