I had a curiosity. What if Cinderella was helped by the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio instead of the Fairy Godmother? And Cinderella nose grew whenever she lies as an effect of the Blue Fairy's magic?

This is literally such an interesting prompt omg. But anyway, here’s a Cinderella retelling!!!

It was ruined. All of it was ruined. What was once a flown pink dress was now rags covering Cinderella’s body. Women she couldn’t even believe were her stepsisters tore her dress apart as her very own stepmother watched and smiled condescendingly.

She laid her head on the garden bench as she cried, her cheeks burning from embarrassment. It was only then she began to realize that she would never be able to escape the grasp of her stepmother and stepsisters cruelty. “I just wish that I could go to the ball,” she cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. She wondered- would she have to be a servant for them forever?

Suddenly, she felt a soft hand stroking her blonde hair. “My, my. You have given so much to others. You deserve your wish to come true,” an unfamiliar voice spoke, making Cinderella immediately stop crying. She looked up to see a woman- but she didn’t seem like any other woman. She was…angelic. Maybe even heavenly. Her presence calmed Cinderella immediately. Then she noticed the wings behind the woman, making her realize that she was a fairy.

“You wish to go to the ball, my dear?” The woman spoke, a softness to her voice Cinderella was far from familiar with. Without a second beat, Cinderella nodded her head. She knew the ball was her one escape from the prison she called home.

“Then a ball you shall go,” The woman smiled, before twirling her wand. Cinderella’s dress was suddenly replaced with a blue gown in the flash of a second. It was beautiful, prettier than the dress before. It was big and made a statement, immediately replacing Cinderella’s frown with a smile.

Before she could ask how, with another flick of her wand the Blue Fairy made Cinderella a carriage from a pumpkin. “Now, you don’t want to be late, do you?” The Blue Fairy asked, ushering Cinderella into the carriage.

And so, Cinderella was off to her very first ball in a dress where she felt more than just beautiful. However, there was one thing the blue fairy failed to mention.

For every lie Cinderella told, her nose would grow an inch.

The kingdom was lavish, unlike anything Cinderella had ever seen before. She could’ve spent hours wandering around the castle, marveling at the great architecture that people generations before her built from the ground up.

While wandering, Cinderella found herself in the actual ballroom. Girls lined up, preparing themselves to meet the prince as they do quick changed to their appearance such as adding more blush.

But instead, he walked right past every girl and walked straight towards Cinderella. He took her hand in his, and before she knew it, the lights were dimmed and music began playing as they danced on he ballroom floor.

Not a word was exchanged between them, but the way they looked into each other’s eyes said enough. Cinderella couldnt my believe it- but she was really dancing with the prince.

He lead her into the garden, which was three times as big from her garden back home. He brushed a piece of hair behind her ear, instantly making her blush. He thought she was beautiful- something she thought no man could ever think of her.

“Where are you from? How come I’ve never seen you here before?” He asked, peering into her eyes as if he wanted to sweep her off her feet and marry her on the spot.

Cinderella paused before answering. She didn’t want to answer truthfully in fear of getting in trouble. Besides, if he had truly fallen in love with her a little lie wouldn’t hurt.

“I moved here from the next village over,” she replied, slowly leaning in closer to the prince.

However, his face contorted in a look of disgust. Cinderella began to internally panic as he looked at her. Was there something wrong in her teeth? Was hair out of place? Millions of thoughts ran through her head in just a second.

“What happened to your nose?” The prince asked, his eyebrows furrowed as he stepped away from Cinderella. She ran to the fountain a few feet from her, and looked into the water’s reflection.

She screamed as she realized her nose grew an inch longer than how it was. She had no idea why or how- but the humiliation was enough to make her run.

Daughters of nobles looked at her in disgust as she rushed out the kingdom. Heat filled her cheeks as she pushed herself to run faster.

Cinderella continued to run, her glass slipper coming off as she did.

“You’re burning up,”

Corey removed the back of his hand from Oscar’s forehead, watching as he continued to shake even with his dangerously high body heat.

Oscar frowned as he sat up, holding his forehead as if he didn’t believe his own fever. “I’m fine. No need to take care of me,” he said, his voice hoarse as he spoke. Corey could only sigh. It wasn’t the first time Oscar tried to act as if everything was normal even if his body forbade him from walking. Or the last.

“For the last time, lay back down,” Corey said, gently pushing Oscar back down. The last time he tried to say he was fine, he nearly fell down the stairs trying to prove a point.

“I don’t mind taking care of you, you know?” Corey reassured, running a hand through Oscar’s hair. He seemed hesitant to Corey��s touch, but eventually gave in to Corey’s surprise.

He kind of expected Oscar to swat his hand away and for the fourth time that day to declare that he was perfectly fine. But instead, he seemed to lean into it. Soon enough, he began to drift off to sleep.

“Will you be here when I wake up?” Oscar asked, just above a whisper. Corey continued to stroke his hand through his hair.

“I will, and that’s a promise,”

Person A was always considered the “caretaker” in their relationships. They never admitted when they were in pain in fear of being a burden. They always felt as if they had to suck it up in order to protect those they had to care about.

So when they began dating Person B, they expected themselves to continue being the great caretaker they were.

However on one late evening, the weight of keeping their emotions in came crashing down on Person A. They were tired of putting on the stone-serious facade, even to protect the ones they loved.

Suddenly, warm arms wrapped around their body, and they looked up to see no other than Person B. Person A quickly wiped their tears to cover their crying, but more sobs erupted instead.

“I got you, you’re okay,” Person B reassured as they wiped Person A’s tears and kissed their temple. Person A had never felt such comfort coming from someone else, and laid their head on Person B.

Person B’s hands ran through Person A’s hair as the continued to cry, their built up emotions finally letting loose.
