Baptisms symbolize the forgiveness of past sins (his life as Robin), initiation into the church (joining the LoA), and new life (literally being brought back).

Batfam but it’s things said at my school (pt. 1)

Tim- And the murderer murdered her sister.

Steph- Hm… That’s not very nice.

Babs- No I can fall down the stairs all on my own.

Dick- It’s fine, nobody drowned.

Barry nearly shits himself when he sees THE RED HOOD crime lord of Gotham, heads in a duffle bag, built like a brick shit house bolting out of a building.

Bruce doesn’t sink into the shadows or apprehend Red Hood —who the JL had been hunting for the better part of two months— when it would’ve been so easy and so smart. He just runs the second he hears the familiar, all intentional pounding of reinforced boots.

Hal wants to ask what on Earth is happening because Batman just did something that couldn’t possibly be planned —He let THE RED HOOD get away. He acted without thinking.— But goddamnit Batman is already bounding across rooftops.

Bruce doesn’t even realise he’s running until Diana is calling after him as she follows. At least she was smart enough to understand that when he runs they should run too. Why had he even started to run? He wasn’t chasing Red Hood and he was right there, so easy to catch but Bruce wasn’t thinking he was acting off his base level training. Bruce trained every Robin to walk silently unless otherwise necessary, one such occasion being when everyone else needed to know they were running away from something.

Jason didn’t know why he intentionally made his footsteps land with enough force to make sound, he could easily silence himself. But something deep down told him that when he was running from the bomb he’d just set off he had to make enough noise to be noticed if you paid attention.

Bruce Wayne is not the smart guy who sees people running and also starts running. No sir he is white guy confirmed, that boy sees people running and investigates if he weren’t Batman he would die first in horror movies 100%

However- Bruce/Batman is the guy who sees his kids running and runs as well. He knows his kids, and if they’re running, he’s running. They would not run from a threat without viable reason, so he’s following. It’s an instinct honed by partnership, something you have to do in the field. He needs to trust them, instinctively, and if they run, he run. As partners they have to trust the others movements, fluidity, doing what they do without a seconds hesitation because in that second you’re dead. 

Batman hits all fours and you better believe Nightwing is kissing the floor. 

Red Hoods finger twitches toward his left side and Red Robin moves because that’s where he has his grenades and you better know that or you’ll be a casualty. 

Spoiler yells “jump!” And Batgirl is jumping no questions asked or she gets sawed in half.  

So if Batman sees Signal running- he packs up his shit (Robin) and is hightailing it after him.

Damian Al-Ghul Wayne who has literally no concept of love outside his parents’ very complicated relationship.

Damian has no concept of sexuality because that stuff never mattered in the LoA. In fact attachments such as love were seen as a weakness; something to hinder his assassin skills.

When Damian first arrives at Wayne Manor he believes he’s being tested because why on Earth are these people so enthusiastic??? Eventually Damian grows and learns to recognise familial love, but he still doesn’t know romantic love or anything about sexuality.

At a gala some rich socialites encourage their daughters to go speak with the only blood son of WE who they’re sure will be the heir. Damian is very uncomfortable when a flock of girls his age are following him throughout the gala like he’s the most interesting thing to cross their paths. They’re batting their eyelashes and asking him to do things he’s sure they could do on their own and he couldn’t be more frustrated by the incompetence.

The other Waynes find it hilarious to watch Damian resist the urge to start fighting the girls off in one to ten combat.

While Damian is worried thinking about why those girl could possibly want his attention so desperately he can’t help but feel a warmth in his chest whenever he sees Jon. Each time they hang out Damian can recognise that he feels differently for Jon than he does for family or anyone in the JL.

It isn’t until Tim comes out to the family that Damian learns what sexuality even is. He’s had no reference outside his mother and father who couldn’t be a worse example of a romantic relationship. He doesn’t ask any questions despite his curiosity because why would he let Drake know something about him that even he wasn’t fully sure about.

With weeks of contemplation Damian reaches the conclusion that there is maybe a chance he has what one would call a “crush” on Jon. This isn’t a bad thing in his mind, just something that has occurred. He’s pushing past years of abuse surrounding his upbringing and believes that his clouded view of love is just one more thing to conquer.

Again, Damian had no reference for sexuality up until Tim came out and therefore no concept of homophobia. He doesn’t know these feelings aren’t socially acceptable, he just knows the League would disapprove of him liking Jon as much as they’d disapprove of him liking any of those girls from the galas.

When Damian decides to come out to Jon and confess his feelings he doesn’t plan on it going anywhere but he also doesn’t see a point in hiding this from his best friend. It isn’t until Jon is hugging him and confessing his shared feelings and how he was scared Damian was homophobic that Damian even hears that word. He asks what “homophobic” means because yes he understands word parts but the concept is new.

Jon is clueless until Damian’s pulling away from the hug and asking what that word means. Only then does he realize that Damian had quite literally no fear in his confession. It’s then that Jon takes it upon himself to grab his brother so he and Kon can teach Damian everything there is to know about being queer.

Consider a story with the prompt based off I Know The End by Phoebe Bridgers.

The main character is kinda depressed and gets stuck in a time loop of the day she dies. At first she’s really upset about the time loop, but eventually she’s able to make this day her perfect life. Of course she knows she’s going to die at the end but that doesn’t matter because she gets to die happy. The last day in the time loop she has the best time she has ever had with the friends she has and is finally able to fully accept her death.

Jason LoA Angst

What if when Talia introduced Jason to baby Damian he felt this inexplicable pain deep inside him. What if Jason recognized the infant’s face but couldn’t place where he knew it from. As Jason watched Damian grow he couldn’t help but feel as though he already knew those sharp eyes that held a stare too long.

What if when Jason returned to Gotham and saw Bruce for the first time he couldn’t help but see his brother. What if he saw his little brother staring back at him through the eyes of a man he once knew every time he fought Batman.

What if when Jason made his grand reveal both his father and little brother were there, staring at him with the same eyes but completely different expressions. Damian wore Bruce’s knowing look while Bruce wore the hurt and lost look that was Damian’s.

Robins

Any of the vigilantes who have ever held the title of Robin have the inexplicable ability to vanish at any given moment. The Robin costume is all bright colors and that’s the very opposite of what one would want when they’re meant to disappear, so they all adapted.

It took Dick a while to learn how to adapt but once he got it nobody ever saw him when he didn’t want them to. Even now in his Nightwing suit with the bring blue against the deep black he vanishes from plain sight.

Jason had an easy time disappearing, being a scrawny kid who could slip around alley corners not being noticed. Even as Red Hood nobody saw him until it was too late.

Tim had the easiest time learning to adapt to the bring outfit. He had been following Batman and Robin for years without being noticed. He accidentally sneaks around all the time both in and out of costume.

Steph was the hardest to train to disappear. She was too herself, but eventually she got into using her exaggerated self to disappear. One moment she’d be all smiles and bouncing around, the next you couldn’t find her no matter how hard you tried.

Damian showed up knowing how to disappear. His mother and grandfather had been training him to be impossible to find no matter what. Gotham believes he might be a shadow rather than a boy.

Bruce will never admit it but all the kids have scared him at least once, whether that’s because they went missing without him noticing or because they showed up where they hadn’t been a second before.

Batman Angst

How many rooms in the manor were left untouched after Thomas and Martha died? How many rooms were cleaned once a year because they were never touched? How bad did it hurt Bruce to see his once lively house a ghost of itself? How often did Alfred clean the already spotless rooms just so he could be doing something?

How many of those empty rooms were suddenly used again once Bruce started adopting? How hard did it hit Bruce the first time he heard his kids running throughout the manor, opening doors that hadn’t been opened since that night in the alley? How big was Alfred’s smile when he was finally cleaning up the messes of children like he had so many years ago?

Robin!Dick: Is that a child? Like an actual child? Oh fuck the child wants to kill people.

Nightwing!Dick: Did that guy just bend himself in half???

Robin!Jason: That’s another child… Oh at least this one is happy and not out for blood.

Red Hood!Jason: You’re telling us the guy with a duffle bag full of heads is the Bats’ kid???

Robin!Tim: We need to talk to Bats about his issue. Holy fuck that kid is smart.

Red Robin!Tim: Does that guy sleep? Why is he smarter than Bats what it happening?

Robin!Damian: That one has a sword. Why does that one have a sword? Oh and he’s a little shit.

Damian hasn’t slept in two days and is high off pain meds. Everybody else is either having the time of their lives or freaked out because he’s being a normal kid.
