Voldemort: Severus, how long do you estimate this task will take? Snape: By myself? probably around 25 minutes. Voldemort: And if I made Bellatrix and Lucius help? Snape: Oh an hour and a half at least!

Canon: Both Sirius and Voldemort mention Bellatrix and Rodolphus together in Goblet of Fire, as a married couple. They torture the Longbottoms together and she defends him (alongside Rabastan and Barty) during her trial. She and Rodolphus are paired together in the Department of Mysteries. In the Battle of the Seven Potters, Rodolphus takes a curse meant for Bellatrix. In Cursed Child, Delphi refers to him as 'Bellatrix's loyal husband'.
Rowling: She took a pureblood husband, because that was what was expected of her, but her true love was always Voldemort.
Somehow, fanon: Bellatrix hated Rodolphus! She was forced to marry him! He was...abusive.

Prompt 6 - Scent
@jegulus-microfic March 6 Word count 886
Previous part First part
Regulus pulled his sleeve up to reveal the snake and skull tattoo wriggling sickly on his skin.
“This has to be a coincidence. Right? He can’t possibly know.” Evan looked to Regulus.
“I don’t know. We need to get to him fast, though.”
They raced out of the tunnel and up to Dumbledore’s office. Dumbledore had opened the floo network for them so they could get back to Rosier House after they had finished what they were doing.
He appeared out of a side door and asked for a debrief. Evan and Barty shuffled uncomfortably. They hadn’t actually seen Dumbledore yet since they’d joined Regulus.
“Evan, Barty and I have been summoned. We will have to debrief later.” Regulus told Dumbledore before stepping towards the fireplace.
“We’ll stay.” James offered.
“So will we,” Pandora said, stepping forward. “That way, I can tell those three what was said.” This was acceptable to all parties, so Regulus smiled sadly at his brother and kissed James quickly before he disappeared into the emerald flames.
They checked each over quickly, especially Regulus, as any sign of blood would be a dead giveaway. They arrived barely half an hour after they had been summoned. Regulus glanced around. They weren’t even the last ones to arrive.
Evans's father came storming over when he spotted them.
“Why has it taken you so long to arrive? I have been asked where you were.” Regulus watched as Evan shrunk under his father’s glare. Barty’s jaw tensed as he held back what he wanted to say to Rosier Sr. There were very few people that Barty was careful around, and Evan’s father was one of them.
“Sorry, Father, we were gathering potion supplies with Regulus, but it was in an anti-apparition charm on the area.”
“And it took you half an hour to get here?” Evan’s Father sneered. Regulus moved to Evan’s side.
“Sorry, Mr Rosier, that was my fault. I travelled a bit further in than we had originally planned, and we got rather muddy in our search for the ingredients I required. So we returned to your beautiful home to make ourselves presentable before we arrived.” Mr Rosier smiled a sickly smile at Regulus and bowed his head slightly to him.
“My apologies, Lord Black. If I had known Evan was with you, I would have said take all the time you need.”
“Thank you, Mr Rosier. Next time, we will endeavour to arrive in a more timely manner.” Regulus replied.
The wolves arrived after that, making a lot of noise and disturbing the quiet chatter of the Death Eaters. Remus broke away from the others after asking permission from whichever wolf was in charge of them.
Regulus heard one of them say.
“Sure, Lupin, you can go play with your little friends, but remember, when we say come, you obey.” Remus had dipped his head in submission before he limped over to Regulus.
Regulus looked him over. He was so bony.
“Hi,” He smiled at them, happy to see them. Barty reached up and pulled a twig from Remus’s hair.
“Is forest chic in this year, Lupin?” He asked with a snicker. Remus shook his head but chuckled. It turned into a hacking cough that alarmed Regulus.
“That doesn’t sound good, Lupin.” All Regulus could think of was how worried Sirius would be when he told him if he told him.
Remus sniffed the air, his nose crinkling, as he inhaled a scent.
“Regulus, why do you smell like blood?” He leaned closer, sniffing at Regulus to confirm he was correct.
“I don’t know what you’re on about Lupin.” He shot a worried stare at Evan and Barty. Remus came closer.
“Are you hurt or something?”
“Thestral.” That was all Regulus said, and Remus stepped out of Regulus’s space and stopped asking questions.
Voldemort walked in, followed closely by Bellatrix, Rodolphus and Lucius. The room fell silent as they waited for him to start talking.
“Welcome, my dear friends.” He began, opening his arms wide in greeting. “I hope that you are all well. I have called you all here tonight to tell you we have dealt a devastating blow to the Order. We have destroyed multiple drop zones for much-needed supplies.” Bellatrix began cackling and dancing about. Regulus rolled his eyes, unable to restrain himself. “I have also been informed that Sirius Black is still alive and well and has been hiding like the coward he is.” Regulus felt Remus stiffen at his side, and the few people who knew about his relationship with Sirius turned to stare at him, including Voldemort.
Remus looked around at the eyes fixed on him and spat on the floor.
“Please, master, let me kill him. Let me kill Sirius Black.” Bellatrix crooned in her scraping voice. She flung herself at Voldemort’s feet. “Please, My Lord.” Voldemort looked down at her with a sneer.
“Patience Bella. I am sure you will get you’re chance at him.”
All Regulus could think was that someone had mucked up. Someone had told the spy that Sirius was alive because they’d been so careful with keeping him out of sight. Sirius always hid under James’s invisibility cloak if he left the safe house. Which meant someone had let it slip that Sirius was alive. And Regulus thought he knew who.

Lucius: I have a bad feeling about this... Bellatrix: What do you mean? Lucius: Don't you ever get that little voice in your head that tells you if you're going to get into trouble? Bellatrix: No? Rodolphus: That actually explains so much.

imagine rabastian and rodolphus, who are watching the prisoners at the malfoy estate. the girl with pale blond hair and blue eyes catches their eyes. she's so familiar, reminding them of hot summer nights in Greece
reminding them of sneaking into their parents rooms to play with their mothers make up
reminding them of tiny footsteps in the hallway, loud laughter
reminding them of long talks about things they couldn't care less about
reminding them of potions blowing up
...reminding them of a sister long forgotten. of a face erased from the family tree

A short little ramble about the black sisters cause I'm bored and I'm not writing fanfics:
Narcissa: Narcissa was always stuck, she was always in the middle, never on one side, never on the other. While Bellatrix was hopelessly devoted to Voldemort, Narcissa stayed silent and enjoyed a mostly quiet life as a barely present Death Eater. While Andromeda was free and married a muggle-born, and did what she truly wanted. Narcissa was on Voldemort's side of course, she wanted to be, but she didn't agree fully. She thought it might be a bit wrong, but never really voiced her opinion. She loved Alice, so much, but again Alice was a pure-blood. She was friends with purebloods and some half-bloods, not any 'mudbloods'. But her sister had left her for a muggleborn and this had made her detest them most of all. In the end she was the half-half. Stuck in between.
Bellatrix: Bellatrix was devoted, she fully believed in Voldemort, well for the blood-purity and everything like that. She knew it was 'wrong' she didn't care. She was very extreme. She loved the thrill of it, for her it was thrill, killing off those 'pests' was enjoyable, like playing a video game, or watching a movie. This hatred of ‘mudbloods’ increased to a level unknown and probably bigger than Voldemort when Andromeda left for a stupid muggleborn, her Andromeda, her sister. She vowed to never let Narcissa leave, even if she had to kill that stupid pure blood she was friends with who was on the wrong side, she needed her sister to stay. If she loved someone (like Rita Skeeter) they had to be just like her. Bellatrix’s life always revolved around being a Death Eater and her life as a pure blood, she showed off her status and her power. Of course she still fully fufilled all her 'Sacred 28' Pureblood needs like her family expected, but her main priority was the cause. Above her own life. Over anyone’s life. Above her husband whom she only married to keep up appearances. Above everything but Voldemorts word.
Andromeda: Andromeda knew what was wrong, and couldn’t keep silent about it. She knew everything was wrong, she had stayed for her sisters, and then left for Ted, a muggleborn. She ran from the family, ‘tarnishing’ the Black name, but she was free. Free of the abuse, free from their lies, free to live as she saw fit. She knew it was the best, though she missed her sisters, and occasionally her cousins, she loved the freedom. She knew Voldemort was doing bad, her husband was fighting against it all day, but she couldn’t bring herself to in case she died and left her daughter all alone. Everything she did in the end was for who she loved and who she had made her family.
In the end Bellatrix was just a Death Eater, Narcissa was just a Death Eater, and Andromeda was the one who escaped. That’s all they were to people who they didn’t know, people were unknowing of the differences, of how those three sisters could’ve done everything, but were just apart forever.
