I shared an Ea-Nasir meme elsewhere, and someone brought up that there's this other copper guy we only know of because of a long preserved complaint about him, in the Bible:
A mundane day in the life of running a ministry.

[CODY seemed to pause before tacking on a "thank you" at the end, as if they had to remind themself to say it. As if they were trying to discipline themself upon realizing they hadn't been saying it to you nearly as much as they should be. They give you a pained smile that you can tell they're only forcing to be polite, but you knew that underneath it, they were sincerely grateful for the gesture.]
[You take them outside, giving them a moment away from everyone else. And, if you were being honest with yourself… You needed to get away from them, too. You were absolutely livid that someone would have the audacity to threaten CODY's life right as you were making a breakthrough with what was really going on inside their mind, and you needed to take this time to cool off.]
[That one singular death threat had only served to push CODY even further away from you, and would make it all the more difficult for them to open up about themself again in the future. You felt obligated to do some form of damage control. You wanted to say something, anything to alleviate the tension, but the words die in your throat.]
[You suppose you felt too guilty to push the subject after hearing what BLASTOISE had said. The idea that CODY might wish they'd never been born was enough to tie knots in your stomach. While it was true that if you had met RED and LEAF instead, you'd never know what you were missing out on… You couldn't imagine what life would be like without CODY now.]
[Despite the circumstances it happened under, you're grateful that CODY was born, because it means you got to meet them. You wanted to say that to them, but couldn't bring yourself to vocalize it, out of fear that it might invalidate how they were feeling.]
[Instead, all you could think to do was wordlessly show them how much you appreciate them. You're determined to keep caring about them for the rest of their life, no matter how much pain they're in.]
[Maybe after a lifetime of you going on walks with them, they might learn to love themself the way you do. You can only hope.]
