#...does this classify as executive dysfunction?

i feel like it's such a cruel joke from God that everything that makes me better also makes me feel worse.
#the attitude of 'no one else will do it if not you' along with 'you need to put in more than the bare min. because--#--this bare minimum does not make an effect on people tf is this'#was things i started thinking to motivate myself to draw more than headshots all the time & actually start putting the ideas i had onto--#paper and at least trying to tell my stories in anything more than a meaningless ramble#(i still ramble sometimes but i at least try to think of how to do it now)#and it worked#and im doing actual things now#but now this same logic is hurtful because it pushes me to make more&more&more#just to get my ideas out there#bcs just saying the idea out loud isnt enough. people will not be interested in just listening to that#i need to like make a drawing or something#and theres so many ideas and i cant make something for all of them but IM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THAT.#im the only one. and i should be the only one because getting someone else to do so is 1. not possible 2. shameful.#like oooohhh can you make this idea i had real because i cant. jesus christ id rather fall into the ground.#please dont internalize this btw. this isnt a good attitude to have. not at all!!#but now im stuck in this hell because its the only way i get to keep going#the only way im capable of doing anything and being productive is by forcing myself to do so. by pulling myself up by strings#and beating myself up into what i want to do#i will not do it if i wont force myself to.#...does this classify as executive dysfunction?#i never thought it did but#now that i phrased it that way#god i wish i had the balls to ask my parents for therapy#BY THE WAY TO CLARIFY#'DOING THINGS'? IN THIS CONTEXT?#MEANS LIKE. MAKING SHITPOSTS.#SOMETIMES MAKING COMICS OR WRITING A ONE SHOT BUT I STILL STRUGGLE WITH THAT TO THIS DAY.#IT WAS MOSTLY LITERALLY DRAWING A DOODLE COMIC INSTEAD OF WRITING SOMETHING IN A DIALOGUE FORM#BECAUSE DIALOGUES DIDNT CHANNEL WHAT I WANTED TO SHOW RIGHT AND SHITPOST COMICS MADE IT MORE INTERESTING TOO.#oh yeah and theres a thing to be said about how so much for this if not all is just so that other people would look at it.

Beau is Afraid is the movie I have been waiting for
!Spoilers Ahead! *LONG POST*
TW: Child Abuse, Gaslighting, Narcissistic Abuse, Strangulation, Discussions of Severe Anxiety
Like many people I knew Ari Aster as the guy who made Hereditary and Midsommar. Weird and trauma focused horror and that is definitely what Beau is Afraid is classified as, but it is nothing like his previous films.
To summarize, Beau is afraid starts off with Beau meeting his therapist (well it literally starts with Beau being born but i digress) and here we learn that Beau has a severe and crippling anxiety disorder. From the moment Beau starts talking about his mother I knew exactly what this movie was going to be about(though i don’t think anyone could guess the plot). We see that he is planning to visit his mother the next day because it’s the anniversary of his fathers death. Due to unforeseen circumstances Beau oversleeps and as he is rushing his keys get stolen out of his door along with his suitcase. Beau calls to tell his mom just wanting to tell her what’s happened and as she began to speak I got immediately triggered. You can see him sink into a shell of himself as she tries to make him feel guilty for thinking he should stay at home since someone has access to his apartment. She hangs up on him and Beau begins to lose it a little bit.
A lot of things domino fall and this leads to Beau getting locked out of his apartment (this also leads to the first time we see Beau experience something i’ve never seen so perfectly portrayed in a film. executive dysfunction. and it happens multiple times, he simply freezes in place even though he knows he should move. Part of it is definitely his anxiety as he is afraid to move because thats a decision and he doesn’t want the responsibility of what comes after a decision)and learning that his mother was killed by a falling chandelier. Then we see him get hit by a car. He ends up in the care of a family and long story short he has to run from them and ends up in the woods with a theatre troupe.
Tumblr media
This is important because we learn that Beau’s biggest dream is to simply have a job and home of his own with a family that loves him. That’s his perfect future, but even as he’s seeing it playing out his kind can’t help but conjure up the worst case scenarios. We also see it repeated here that Beau can’t have kids because he can’t have sex because of a genetic heart murmur that killed his father. After Beau is separated from the theatre troupe he makes his way to his mothers house(though he should have been healing after being hit by a car and being stabbed his ONLY CONCERN was his mother not being humiliated by not being buried). When he sees her body he isn’t at peace yet but he lays down and gets his first night of good rest in days. When he wakes up he is greeted with his old friend Elaine who asked him to wait for her and he did. Long story short, Beau and her have sex. He is under the direct impression he is going to die when this happens.
But he doesn’t. However, Elaine does. He is rightfully terrified and cowers in fear until the music Elaine was playing suddenly shuts off and he looks up to find none other than his mother staring back at him. She faked her death to get him home and then tries to turn this on Beau saying he couldn’t wait for her to die, when Beau admits he knew she was alive because of the birthmark on the hands on the body. But she’s not done. Out of the shadows steps Beau’s therapist as his mother begins playing a recording of one of his sessions where Beau admits reluctantly that he felt his mothers love was conditional. Since he feels like he has nothing to lose he chooses to finally confront his mother about the dream he has where he sees an identical version of himself ask about his father because Beau isn’t brave enough and he asks where his father is.
His mother takes him to the attic from the dream and tells him to go up there telling him it wasn’t a dream, it was a memory. There Beau meets his twin brother and his father(it’s a lot more batshit than this but that’s the gist of it). He begs to go back down and his mother finally lets him and he LITERALLY KISSES HER LEGS telling her he’s sorry. But she’s still not done. She goes on a whole tirade about how her mother blamed her for her mothers mistakes completely missing how she’s doing the same to Beau. She continues to berate him until she finally says what she means. She hates Beau. And at that point Beau puts his hands around her throat, strangling her. He eventually comes to his senses and lets her go, shocked at his own actions, but the damage has been done, she collapses and dies.
Beau leaves the house the look of shock frozen on his face and he reaches a motorboat on his mothers private little beach. He starts the motor and begins to drive the boat towards a cavern. For the first time the whole movie Beau seems like he might no longer be afraid. Until the motor mysteriously sputters and here’s where shit gets VERY REAL. SERIOUSLY IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE GO WATCH IT BEFORE CONTINUING.
Tumblr media
Beau is sitting in darkness for a few seconds and suddenly this cavern is flooded with light and he sees no, it’s not actually a cavern at all. It’s a stadium filled with people. They are all watching him. Through his (and the audiences) confusion a voice booms from a microphone. When Beau finds the source he is shocked to see that it is coming from a man on a mini stage high in the stadium sitting next to his mother. From a giant 4 sided jumbotron video plays of moments from Beau’s life dating back to when he was NINE. YEARS. OLD. All of of which is taken out of context. Beau’s only “defense” is a shitty lawyer who has yell because he wasn’t given a microphone and even when he is heard and things his lawyer says are reasonable his mothers lawyer simply writes it off and moves onto the next thing he’s “done wrong”. (To me this represents all of the times Beau tried to reason with his mother and make her see his side before he just had to succumb to her will for survival, because you can’t reason with a narcissist.) When his defense is literally thrown from his stage and dies on a steep rock Beau is left to defend himself. Through his anxiety and fear he still tries to make them see his side, but Beau is found to be guilty. He never really loved his mother, he was a manipulative child who took from her and never gave anything back.
As this is all coming to a close the motor on the boat begins to flame and the boat begins to sink. Beau is begging, pleading, screaming, for his mother as she watches him in distress. As the entire arena of people watches him struggling and does nothing. We can see the exact moment Beau succumbs to his fate, he says nothing and for the first time in the whole film his shoulders droop. All of his anxiety is gone. He knows his mother won’t help him, that no one will. And the look that crosses his face is one I understood so deeply. One of anger that he dedicated his life to this woman, one of realization that he couldn’t trust anyone, one of sadness that he was truly alone. And I relate to that so deeply.
I remember people talking about the relationship between Joy and Evelyn in Everything Everywhere All at Once and while I definitely relate to their story somewhat there was something missing and I didn’t know what it was until I saw Beau is Afraid.
On the one hand there’s the constant twisting of Beau’s actions that is particularly triggering to me. Him living in one of his mothers apartment buildings and using a card with her money is turned on him when for one thing the apartment is shitty and he is constantly in fear for his life. Number 2 the card was given to him by her to use, because Beau is literally agoraphobic because of HER ACTIONS. He can’t hold down a job even if he wanted to. His whole life is his therapist and his home. I find it so strange that mothers like this will stifle any interest their child has that falls outside of what they want for them and literally block them from opportunities to advance, but then get upset when their kids aren’t able to function on their own as adults.
Tumblr media
But that’s not the main thing that stuck out to me and made me realize I had been carrying this massive weight with me I couldn’t explain.
This ever present fear I felt living with my mother that just never left. This feeling that she was always watching me even when I wasn’t with her and that I couldn’t trust anyone because they would turn them against me eventually. That I couldn’t say bad things about her because the words would find their way back to her. When I was actively going to therapy I would triple check my phone to make sure I didn’t accidentally dial her and she could every word I was saying. That’s how terrifying it feels and I’ve never seen that captured on screen. Tears were streaming down my face as I watched Beau’s cries be ignored and as people just let him die. In the silence of the theater I simply stared at the place Beau had been and thought “you have to leave, you have to get out.”
!End of Spoilers!
It’s a great movie and I think you should definitely go see it if you have 3 hours to spare. I’ve personally seen it twice and I relate so much to Beau it’s kinda scary. Sorry for this long post I wonder what anyone who saw it thinks though, i’d like to hear new perspectives. Now time to watch Queen Charlotte for something lighter 😭

hi! i'm getting into writing safe vore oneshots and i was inspired by a few of your works and reblogs. for years i was really discontent with my writing, but when i revisited some of your stories today, i noticed how similar your writing style is to mine, and the fact that people enjoy your content made me confident enough to complete a draft and plan a new story. i wanted to know if you make drafts and revise them? do you just publish the first draft? do you get help writing or editing them? 1☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WAAAAAAAAAAAAH I;M SOBBING THIS WAS SUCH A NICE SERIES OF ASKS TO COME TO YOU'RE SO NICE TO MEEEEEEEE omg gomgo gomgomgomgklgkgfkjngfjbjdk i've never been complimented LIKE THIS or asked extensively for my process, this is new to me!!! you're wonderful and kind and i appreciate you.
i'm gonna have to make a readmore here as to not clutter up everyone's dashes to tell you my process/thoughts so HERE WE GO!!!!
i actually have only one fic i get edited and it's a non-vore fic, a very close friend of mine edits a fn.a f fanfic i'm writing based on w/illi.am a/f.to/n. i don't ask them to edit my vore stuff, but they do know i'm into vore. i actually write all my fics in a google doc!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'll typically actually write as i go entirely. i have a rough idea of how i want the fic to go (who's in what, who does what, an event i need to happen, etc) and write along that rough guideline in my head. i write completely in order, or else i can't make it flow well together. sometimes i'll write what else may need to get done or else i may forget.
i'll consider things i decide to change as i go along "the first draft," since i went with something entirely different. for example, in one of my drafts for a wip fic, i chose to have luke, in the serial killer, panic and size-shift to half size and have the fic end with a half-size hurt/comfort vore from luke and rowan. instead, i changed it so luke is dazed but has time remain his current size and pull rowan out of his pred instincts taking over and have cuddles afterwards and vore when they got home, luke still the same size.
though adhd and autism get in the way at times—executive dysfunction is a bitch. a lot of things i have written, like a luke and rowan serial killer fic, as well a a fugue state william fic have been a WIP since February of this year—literally when i BROKE MY FOOT and was stuck in a reclining chair for a month. i keep telling myself i need to get to them, but then i see ffxiv and hanging out with friends and just decide that's a better way to spend my time at the moment. i've been in a huuuuge brain fog for a few months bc of this, the recent one shot i posted was actually made because i was speaking vore feelings i had with medli.
i definitely have an easier time writing when i'm specifically fixated on vore, luke and rowan, william, mike, etc.
i'll write when i'm hyperfixated, and my brain pushes me to write more when i'm at work rather than at home, because adhd classifies work as something i need a distraction from, and home as chill time. i'll write on my breaks or when i have a moment to myself to sit and hide.
i'll tell you right now, i get SOOO many ideas and have at least 10+ wips, including f./n/a,f, luke and rowan, and ffxiv characters.
when i write, i'm mostly writing from my heart. exactly what i'd expect to think, feel, and hear. i put myself into the perspective/mind of the characters i'm writing and can get deep into these fics as i write them. i get so interpersonally connected to my writing as i'm writing that i physically feel my character's emotions, and see them in my head exactly how they play out.
honestly, i'm not too sure about tips on how to get out of making yourself write when you don't feel like it. i've gotten frustrated with myself for staring at my documents for too long and not being able to write anything. i imagine the scenario in perfect detail, and then i'll sit down, stare at my work, and i'm like ....???????????????????
i'm actually trying to open up to my therapist about getting medicated so i can have an easier time writing/creating for you guys! hopefully soon.
i hope this kind of gives you some insight to my process, please go forth and create and never be afraid to share. <333
this ask means a lot to me!

Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder (DPDR)
Hello, my beautiful people, and welcome again to another long post in my Truth About Childhood Trauma and CPTSD series. As always, if you see the stars (☆☆☆☆) that means there is a break in information and you can step away without getting lost.
⚠️TRIGGER WARNING- READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION⚠️(researching this was extremely triggering for me, so if you have DPDR or CPTSD, please be careful)
!!This should in no way be used as a diagnostic tool!!
Where It All Begins:
Tumblr media
***this is a severe form of dissociation. To learn what dissociation is, read here***
Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder is when you feel as if you are living outside of your body and/or unable to connect to your sense of self (Mayo Clinic, 2017). While most people experience this at some point in their lives, it becomes classified as a disorder when you persistently and repeatedly experience these feelings of being unreal. DPDR often interferes with daily life, and those who have this disorder have a difficult time functioning with it.
This disorder often manifests in the late teenage years or early adulthood (Mayo Clinic, 2017). This is often because the fight-flight-freeze coping mechanism of dealing with stress/trauma often wears off around this time, leaving the brain to crumble as it tries to rebuild itself and recover. Those experiencing this often believe that they are ‘going crazy’ because it is so hard to describe exactly what is being felt, but this disorder is very real and those with it often suffer for years before it begins to resolve-if it ever does (this disorder only has a 2% diagnosis rate, meaning that most who have it never get the treatment they need, thus never recovering). It often goes hand and hand with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) (Campbell, 2021).
⚠️A SCARY STATISTIC⚠️ (this is part of what triggered me. Read at your own risk, my loves): There is only a 5.8% survival rate for those who are formally diagnosed with DPDR. The people with this condition feel as if they are unreal, and it is a soul-sucking feeling of emptiness and loneliness that most do not understand. This isolation causes those with this disorder to feel extremely ‘crazy’ and alone, driving them towards suicide.
☆☆☆☆
Causes:
This disorder's cause isn’t completely understood, however there are many risk factors that have been proven to have a correlation to those who experience it:
a personality that makes it extremely difficult to adapt to different situations (not introvertism, etc., but rather debilitating inability to give something a chance; wanting to but being unable to)
severe childhood or early adulthood trauma, when the brain is still developing
EXTREME and SEVERE toxic stress
depression or anxiety
the repeated use of recreational drugs and/or alcohol
☆☆☆☆
Symptoms:
some of these I have personally experienced while others are ones I have found in my research
Depersonalization symptoms:
feeling as if you aren’t in control of what you are doing, but rather just watching your body go through the motions
memory loss
the loss of time
numb to all sensations and feelings
emotional numbness
struggling to define who you are (constantly searching for labels to identify yourself, only to find you don't connect with any of them)
feeling as if your arms and legs don’t belong with your body
feeling like your head is wrapped in cotton
feeling like you are not in control of your thoughts and words
emotional dumbness to the world around it
second guessing whether your memories are real
having a sense that your memories lack emotion
second-guessing if you are even here/if you are even real
NUMB. SO MUCH NUMB. FEELING AS IF YOU ARE TRAPPED IN YOUR OWN CHEST, SCREAMING AND CRYING AND BEGGING TO BE LET OUT
unmotivated (executive dysfunction)
comfort spaces (extremely overprotective of them)
voice sounds separate from the body
disconnected from own reflection (anxiety)
Derealization symptoms:
feeling as if you are moving through a dream/deep water
struggling to remember where you are/recognize your surroundings (for example, I was laying in my bed one night and rolled over to my stomach and immediately started freaking out because I had no idea where I was/nothing was familiar to me at all. it was a split-second thing, but it scared the fuck out of me and still shakes me up thinking about it)
confused on passage of time
mixing up the sequence of how events occurred
feeling as if you are a bystander of the world, not actually living in it
feeling like your surroundings are unreal/disproportionate
feeling emotionally disconnected from the people you care about
vision problems (2D vision, black and white vision, shaky vision, the sense of looking in a fun house mirror(here are 2 tiktoks that show what it looks like: savi613 and priyalylaa))
lightheadedness
light sensitivity
eyes not focusing in general
believing the people around you are actors/not real
sound sensitivity (superhuman hearing one minute, then being unable to hear anything the next)
existential crisis
crisis of faith
hyperaware of surroundings and pain
panic attacks
unable to recognize family members and friends
Statistics can be found here
☆☆☆☆
Healing from DPDR:
psychotherapy
medication
grounding techniques
tell others so that they understand what you are going through, and they can accommodate as much as possible
nature walks
make a playlist full of songs that make you feel something (here are some of my playlists that help me feel things: I don’t belong here; IM IN A MOOD; Main Character Vibes; Floor is Lava; Beep Beep Sad Fuck; crying and throwing up simultaneously)
writing (I don’t care if it’s a journal, diary, sticky notes, horror stories, satirical articles, whatever)
try to have a schedule/balanced life
☆☆☆☆
Resources:
suicide and crisis lifeline: 988
NAMI Helpline: 800-950-6264
We Level Up Hotline: 855-505-1991
☆☆☆☆
Quizzes:
I could not find any online quizzes to put into this post that weren’t sketchy. If you believe you are experiencing DPDR Disorder, talk to a mental health professional or a supportive person you trust to see further help/treatment.
☆☆☆☆
Relationship to CPTSD:
As someone with Complex PTSD, this is one of the major symptoms I experience on an almost daily basis. DPDR is a coping mechanism that is used to disconnect yourself from your body in moments of extreme trauma to protect your brain and emotions, and while it may be helpful at the time, if you are dissociating in this way outside of harmful experiences, the protective measure becomes the thing you need to protection from.
DPDR is the ‘freeze’ portion of the fight-flight-freeze response associated with the trauma that causes someone to have CPTSD. And even if you are no longer in those situations, the dissociation can haunt you for the rest of your life.

About that controversial music opinions post. What is it about rap that makes you write it off as a genre entirely and not even classify it as music. Like i get not liking it,but no one can really solidly define what is and isnt music. Like whats your criteria for "real music"? (not being argumentative just wondering because i see people say that a lot)
Hi and sorry for the delay, executive dysfunction got out of hands again lol
My answer to this is probably very boring one: I just grew up in a house where my dad did and still does actively hate rap, and always has kept saying that it is not music. So I kinda picked that up from him.
Then to my own thoughts: I said so because the post was about controversial music opinions, and sometimes I still think that way but I try not to shout it too much because I know I have loads of people to disagree with me :D But it's again just opinions, not facts.
But yeah, mainly it's just my dislike towards the rap "singing", which I again wouldn't call singing when it's more like. Talking. I'm just all about melodies, and I cannot enjoy something when it lacks the melody. Sometimes rap for me is like... why don't they go to stages to read poems out loud, why do they have to have some very repetitive annoying beat at the background to go together with it? That's also another reason why I don't like rap, because the so-called music there is often very very repetitive and often computer generated. I have no idea how much work they maybe put in the songs, maybe some actually work really hard and I just don't know it. But most of what I have heard, it all just sounds the same to me. And annoying.
(A little bit) more under the cut if you're interested in hearing more of my thoughts:
Still, I'm not someone to hate on others just because, so sometimes there are artists (not just rap, but of just any genre) whose music just is not my cup of tea, but I still notice their skills and have respect for them. As a kid, I often hung out with my cousin who got into rap and still is a fan of some artists/groups, and we often listened to certain rap artists with her. Somehow I still never got into rap despite all this... but anyway, that was the early 2000s and Eminem was a huge name back then. I've never liked his songs either because, simply, I just don't like rap, but he's one of those people I mentioned in this part of text: I might not like nor listen to his music, but I've heard enough of him (thanks to my cousin who's still a fan) to respect him and his work.
This same goes to all music actually. I'm so picky with music that I could write the same thing about e.g. pop music too. Just no my cup of tea and so many aspects that annoy me, but some artists have talent and skills and it's unfortunate that they just happen to like the kind of music what I don't like :D

whats the ice cream bar approach ?
So, @bipolarings has a post talking about this a little already, but I'm always happy to be given an excuse to blather about brains :D
The ice cream bar/sundae bar metaphor was originally created to describe the autism spectrum, but it works really well for other things too, including bipolar disorder. I'mma adapt it a lil bit here, in fact, to make it work even better. Yay me.
The principle is this: instead of trying to divide up bipolar disorder into I/II/NOS/etc, or classify it as 'severe' or 'mild', picture it as a sundae bar.
Tumblr media
Now, every day, you make yourself a sundae. You can take as many toppings as you 'want' and as much of each topping as you 'want'.
There are some toppings that go well together, so, for instance, if you take a lot of euphoria there's a good chance you'll also get some hypersexuality, some delusions of grandiosity, some creative drive, some ambition, some psychomotor agitation. And that would be called a 'manic episode'. You could get somewhat less of each, maybe leave off the delusions of grandiosity, and people might call it a 'hypomanic episode'. Even less and people might call it 'euthymia'.
But the thing is, you don't have to get it that way, and you can take any amount of each! So you might get low mood but a lot of psychomotor agitation, irritability, and disregard of consequences. Or you could get a huge amount of emotional numbness but combine it with the stuff other people like to put with euphoria. Or you could get just a bit of low mood but spice it up with hallucinations and delusions (other). Or you could get a lot of delusions of grandiosity but only a tiny amount of euphoria.
And what you get one day doesn't determine what you get the next. You could spend years getting nothing but the 'hypomania combo' and the 'depression family-size' and then one day decide to dump the entire bowl of euphoria in your cup and top it with so many delusions it starts to spill over the sides. Or maybe you've only ever gotten small, carefully curated sundaes with a healthy amount of two or three toppings but today you just tell the server 'fuck me up' and get some of absolutely everything.
Without all the metaphor:
While certain sets of symptoms commonly appear together, and are then labeled 'mania', 'hypomania', 'depression', or 'euthymia', symptoms don't have to appear in those particular combinations. (Also the DSM isn't necessarily even right about what combinations are common.)
You could also have different proportions of symptoms than someone else does. (And that doesn't necessarily make your disorder or theirs automatically more 'severe'.)
Even if you do only get common combinations of symptoms, that says nothing about how 'severe' it is. If you get an enormous amount of emotional numbness, lack of motivation, executive dysfunction, suicidality, paranoid delusions, and disregard of consequences, continuously for 98% of your adult life; and someone else gets one (1) single 3 day long episode with a medium-sized serving of delusions of grandiosity, hallucinations, and disregard of consequences; they'll probably be diagnosed with Bipolar I and you with Bipolar II, but your life is probably being affected a lot more.
What symptoms you get can also change, which can include changing from what a psychiatrist might call 'Bipolar I' to 'Bipolar II', or 'BP-II' to 'BP-NOS', or whatever. You haven't magically gotten a new disorder. You just got a different sundae today. You're still eating at the same sundae bar.

ADHD is an Executive Function Disorder
ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder which is actually a bit of a misnomer. Not all people who have ADHD experience hyperactivity (or their hyperactivity is internalized) and people with ADHD don’t have a deficit of attention so much as they struggle to regulate their attention.
ADHD would much more accurately be described as an Executive Function Disorder. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder which is a difference in the way an individual’s brain develops. There are observable structural differences in the brain’s of people with ADHD, specifically a deficit of the neurotransmitter dopamine and weaker structures of the prefrontal cortex. Dopamine is the brain’s ‘reward system’ for accomplishing tasks and the prefrontal cortex is the primary center for the executive functions of the brain.
So what is executive function and how does executive dysfunction affect individuals with ADHD?
Executive Function is really more of an umbrella term that refers to several essential brain functions. The specifics of executive function is debated and different models include different functions. Generally, most experts agree it includes the following: planning/organization, goal-directed behavior, attention regulation, working memory, cognitive flexibility (controlling what, when, and where you think about things), and self-regulation. If this list of brain functions sound familiar it’s probably because it almost directly corresponds with some of the most common symptoms of ADHD.
People with ADHD....
Have trouble prioritizing, planning and organizing tasks (planning/organization)
Often forget things (working memory)
Often lose things (working memory, planning/organization)
Have trouble starting and finishing tasks (goal directed behavior, planning/organization)
Struggle to focus (attention regulation)
Hyperfocus (attention regulation)
Hyperfixate (attention regulation, cognitive flexibility)
Struggle to switch between tasks (cognitive flexibility)
Struggle with regulate their emotions (self-regulation)
TLDR: ADHD is an executive function disorder. Many common symptoms are directly related to deficits in the main brain functions classified under the umbrella term ‘executive function’.

This is gonna sound so 'first world' / 'middle class' problems , but when you have the combo of OCD and ADHD, or even one of the two, these things totally fuck with your productivity.
So my laptop took a dive two weeks ago. Thankfully after my last gaming laptop eventually gave out at the ripe old age of 3 (as they tend to do), I'd made the move to gaming desktop for gaming and editing, and a basic laptop for writing, general internet use, and portability.
So basic laptop is out of the picture, but I still have my gaming desktop.
It has been hard for me to write on my desktop (because I like to write while sitting in bed) or try doing anything that my mind has classified as a 'laptop task' on my desktop.
Like, it shouldn't be an issue, especially since this computer is so much more powerful, but my mind is just like *this is uncomfy* or *does not compute* and I just stare at the screen or scroll.
I'm also trying to switch to docs so that my new cheap laptop can be even cheaper - a chromebook. My OCD is in the way of that because it doesn't have all of the features word has, and what about sync and offline.
I just have to get used to it; that's just hard for me to do sometimes.
Like, I want to write but it's like I functionally have writers block (from executive dysfunction) because I'm at a desk instead of in my bed.
That was the point of this post. To write something at my desktop to help me get past that. I think it's working. Fingers crossed.

There are two types of melanoma injections available today. Intra-oral and sub-dermal. Intra-oral is more effective than sub-dermal although it does have some of the same side effects as the latter. If you are considering either procedure, you should consult a dermatologist who can advise you on which one is best for you. number one solution is particularly important if you are at risk of developing skin cancer or other serious medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, blood clotting or are undergoing other medications or hormonal therapy.

As it is an unlicensed medication while it is not illegal to buy it, it is prohibited to market and also offer it in UK. 'This might be a quick solution yet is absolutely not a risk-free option as well as might have significant long-lasting health and wellness repercussions.
In Australia, Melanotan use is the most commonly prescribed treatment for impotence. Impotence is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient to engage in sexual intercourse. The effects of melanotan use are experienced primarily during the first two weeks after initial treatment. This is because the nausea that some patients report during the first few days of treatment limits their ability to perform normally. This can make it difficult to get an erection and, if the patient does get an erection, there are high chances of it lasting several hours, which significantly reduces the chances of pleasure for the patient and his partner.
Sub-dermal melanotan-ii consists of a collagen gel, a bronchodilator, an anti-inflammatory and possibly an anti-wrinkle compound. These ingredients are usually combined in a formulation that is designed for the application under the skin. You will need to discuss your personal requirements with your dermatologist before choosing a product. As melanotan-ii is a topical medication, its effectiveness depends greatly on the type of skin and what is available in the market. Some common ingredients include tyrosine, lecithin oil, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and others.
The other type of melanotan-induced therapy is intramuscular injections. This is often used in combination with the first but only for individuals who suffer from serious acne, extremely dark pigments or very sensitive skin. This treatment involves injecting a small amount of melanin directly beneath the skin where it helps to block the production of melanin in the pigmentary cells.

The use of Melanotan as a bleaching agent has been largely debated, and even though some scientists claim that the pigment in the skin being changed by Melanotan, others claim that any effects are not long-term or permanent. However, since it has the advantage of being a drug, there are no restrictions whatsoever on the amount of Melanotan that can be administered, as long as it's not abused (i.e., taking excessive doses for non-thermal effects). One of the advantages of Melanotan treatment is its availability, since it is manufactured in controlled quantities that ensure potency and purity. Also, Melanotan can be administered in an oral spray, as well as through plasticintactile implants that plug into the skin (injected into areas that have not responded to topical treatments).
What Is Melanotan 2?
There is also concern regarding the lack of long-term safety data. Melanotan is a relatively new medication, and the long-term effect on the health of individuals is not known. It is not known whether there are any serious side effects of Melanotan use in children or adults, and whether long-term use will reduce the risk of melanoma (a type of cancer) in these individuals. Despite the lack of long-term safety data, there are other available treatments for erectile dysfunction in Australia, including the use of approved medications that are approved by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Administration.
Melanotan II is consequently classified as an unauthorised medicinal product within Europe, the United States and Australia, making all advertising, distribution and marketing illegal.

Little is known about its long-lasting impacts, although unfavorable impacts may include the immune and cardiovascular systems amongst others.
In fact it is this very action of melatonin in the skin that makes it an attractive option for cosmetic use. Melanotan injections can be performed anywhere on the body including the skin, chest, back, face, buttocks and even hands. In general, they are used to improve facial skin tone, facial skin texture, remove freckles, fade acne scars, fine lines, reduce underarm sweating and dark spots and hyperpigmentation of the skin. For these reasons alone, melanotan injections are increasingly popular and are now one of the three major classes of cosmetic procedures used by plastic surgeons.

Because of these potential side effects, Melanotan injections have been regarded as a safer option for treating erectile dysfunction. As an alternative to Melanotan II, injectable melanotan products include lecithin, a compound known to promote healthy blood flow to the genital areas. Although it is not entirely clear how lecithin helps in the promotion of healthy blood flow, it is said that it is capable of making blood flow more efficient, thereby increasing the chance of a sufficient erection being maintained during sexual activity. There are also other compounds that are used in the formulation of injectable melanotan products, such as vitamin C and magnesium. Although these substances may contribute to the improvement of a patient's condition, they are unlikely to cause any immediate side effects.

Melanotan is an interesting hormone responsible for many different processes. It is a highly essential hormone to the skin, hair and nails. It also has an important role in reproduction. The primary function of melanoma is to act as a mitogen, meaning it stimulates growth and makes cells grow. In addition it is also responsible for the maintenance of skin tone and pigmentation in both humans and animals.
Intravenous drug use has not been found to lead to long term effects. However, it should be noted that intramuscular injections are not suitable for all cases. A Melanotan II trial is normally carried out under medical supervision, and in the rare case where there are no responses, then other avenues should be explored such as laser treatments, photodynamic therapy, electrosurgery or collagen replacement injections. Another option is to treat patients with vitamin E as a topical formula, however, there are case reports of this treatment being ineffective. The possibility of Melanotan use for the treatment of cancer is still being researched, and more case reports and extensive analysis need to be carried out in order to determine the possible long-term effects.
Some Melanotan users argue that there are side effects associated with Melanotan use, however. Because Melanotan injections cause a temporary blocking of blood flow to the penis, erection is impaired while waiting for the medication to take effect, a side effect that Melanotan users often report. Further, men who take Melanotan for erection enhancement must continually be exposed to an environment that they believe offers adequate exposure to Melanotan, because the drug is flammable and dangerous.

Modafinil is a medicine that can just be legally acquired by someone with a prescription. Sildenafil is a medicine, not controlled as a drug, that is available to acquire over-the-counter of a pharmacy, or online, without prescription. There are several threats from taking IPEDs, consisting of unfavorable side-effects for both physical and psychological health and wellness. Modafinil can cause severe skin reactions and psychological injuries, including anxiousness. IPEDs are considered all type of reasons and used by various groups of people.
Melanotan has its uses when it comes to treating skin cancer, particularly melanoma, which accounts for the prevalence of Melanotan products in the market today. Melanotan can inhibit the growth of malignant melanoma cells (melanoma) in two ways. First, it inhibits the formation of new cells (two specific types of melanoma) in the area of the mole. Second, it prevents the release of a chemical called melanocorticadenosine. Melanocorticadenosine is responsible for the pigment changes that come with melanoma, and its excessive production is believed to be the cause of the spot on the skin known as a tan.
Both procedures are done under general anesthesia and are carried out by dermatologists who specialise in this type of cosmetic surgery. Most doctors use a prescription cream before administering melanoma or intramuscular injections so that you can be sure that there will be no adverse side effects occurring later on. Melanotan treatment is most effective if used early enough and in its most basic form, the procedure is simply a shielding of the skin from the harmful effects of the UV light that reaches our earth's surface. Melanotan helps to prevent melanin production by helping the skin absorbs the UV rays before they have time to reach the epidermis.
What Really Happens When Japanese Scientists Produce Medicines?
Melanotan II has been in use since at least the 1970s and is known to be one of the best hormones to use to treat hormonal dysfunctions such as hypopigmentation of skin-darkening pigments or melasma. It has been mainly used as an oral medication, but it also acts well as a cream, gel, and liquid, which can be applied topically to the skin for treating such dysfunctions as age spots or melasma. While clinical trials have recently begun on melatonin's efficacy as a natural hormone, there are certain doubts on its efficacy as a bleaching agent because of its ability to stimulate platelet adhesion and aggregation. Also, although Melanotan II has been found to be effective in promoting the growth of new cells, it has not been found to be efficient in inhibiting the proliferation of existing cancer cells.
Melanotan is a naturally occurring hormone that is made by the tyrosinase in the body which helps in the production of melanin. Melanotan II is an artificial analog of the natural peptide hormone, melanoid, that increases sexual desire and stimulates melanization in the body. This hormone is found in large quantities in the dermis layer of skin, hair, brain, and heart. Melanotan II does not cause any side effects and is used by both men and women to treat such conditions as acne, enlarged breasts, acne scars, dark underarms and rosacea.

how much executive dysfunction do you have to experience for it to be classified as a symptom of your autism? like i just spent 30 minutes scrolling on my phone while screaming at myself mentally to get ready for bed - things like this don't happen very often though, i'm usually able to just mAke myself do things and push through it. Also how dO you push through it when it's difficult? i could have been in bed 35 minutes ago and it's almost midnight :(
It’s really hard to define how much, but what you described there does sound like it would count as executive dysfunction (in fact what you described happens to me a lot)
And for me, I push through it by trying to force myself to do the task the moment it comes to mind. No 5 minutes, no 10 minutes, just do it now! I have to admit it’s not always effective, but it does work at times

Hi!! So I have a question about mental health- is it possible to just be a naturally anxious person or does being anxious often always mean some kind of generalized anxiety disorder?
Hi! That’s a great question. The main difference between regular anxiety and anxiety disorders is how long the anxiety lasts and if it keeps you from living your life. Normal, adaptive anxiety is beneficial, often occuring before something important (like school presentations or a test) or when meeting new people. Anxiety becomes an issue when it starts to get in the way of you living a productive and fulfilling life. A “disorder,” or “psychopathology” as it’s called in psych, is clinically defined when some aspect of your anxiety or etc. is keeping you from “functioning” at a normative level. What this means is that if you feel that you can’t leave your house to hang out with your friends, if the thought of participating in class makes you wanna throw up, if you’d rather do absolutely nothing instead of something fun, if you constantly feel like something is wrong, etc., then the anxiety is impeading your life and it may classify as a “disorder.” Simply put, an anxiety disorder is really just an imbalance of chemicals in your brain. Therefore, it’s physiological, just like a common cold or cancer. And this goes for most other psychological disorders, too. Whether or not treatment is recommended really depends on how severe the symptoms are, although I always recommend that everyone attend therapy (it’s great!! I love therapy). For example, my OCD is germ related and “perfection” related. I dont really talk to my therapist about the germ aspect because it doesn’t stop me from living my life (i just sanitize my hands a lot haha). I do talk to my therapist about my perfectionism, though, because it makes doing my job and doing school very difficult. Same thing with my generalize anxiety disorder (GAD). There are some aspects of GAD that I can deal with, but others that I have trouble with. It’s vey individualistic, meaning there are common symptoms but everyone’s can present differently. Example: my boyfriend has trouble with executive dysfunction, I don’t. But it’s still a symptom. I’d be more than willing to answer any more questions you have, too! Mental health can be confusing and scary, but once you start to understand it, it gets a lot easier.

Being autistic in an allistic world.
Its like trying to talk but no one wants to listen. Anyone who does accuses you of making excuses. Even when you have proof that you're not making excuses and its not just you. And every autistic is different, but you all understand each other. When you speak, its like you're making no sound because no one cares to listen. All allistics want is to cure you of a disability that can't be cured. And instead of helping you manage, they all tell you to act like them. And everyone sees your disability as a curse. And even if you have a professional diagnosis people still think you aren't autistic if you're "high functioning" enough like me. Or everyone classifies you as "high functioning" or "low functioning" even though you clearly don't "function" (in society that is) well at all. And everyone tells you to stop stimming even though its keeping you from having a meltdown. Then they tell at you for having a meltdown.
Just. Fucking. Listen. I'm so tired of not being heard. I may be able to make eye contact and fake looking "normal" but you don't know how my brain functions.
Autism isn't just having learning disabilities. Its missing social cues. Its executive dysfunction keeping you from your dreams. Its dispraxia making you fall and break things. Its echolalia being annoying for everyone else. Its meltdowns and shutdowns that embarrass us. Its auditory processing issues making you hear wrong words. Its language not making sense. Its restless leg syndrome. Its stimming when you're upset without realizing it. Its happy flaps when you're too happy to contain it. Its anxiety. Its depression. Its loneliness. Its suicide.
Every autistic is different so not everyone feels the same way I do. But I had to say it.

Enhancing Team Creativity
According to Naiman (2019), “Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality” (para. 1). Creativity is the key to problem solving and adaptability; it is therefore essential to the success of project teams. This blog post will discuss how creativity can best be measured, as well as the four conceptual domains into which new ideas may be classified. In addition, we interviewed twelve professionals to obtain their input on how creativity and teamwork are related, potential threats and roadblocks to team creativity, and ways in which it may be enhanced. Our findings are summarized below.
Measuring Creativity
There are many ways to measure creativity, four of which will be explored here: the Guilford measure, the taxonomy of creative design, the requirements model, and Csikszentmihalyi’s model.
Guilford’s method measures the creativity of an individual based on a response to a multiple-choice question (Silvia, et al., 2008). Based on the chosen response, creativity may be measured in terms of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Taxonomy of creative design measures the creativity of a work compared to others. The work may be classified in one of five categories. Imitation refers to a replication of previous work, while variation represents a the former with only minor modifications. Combination brings together ideas from two or more works, while transformation translates a work from one medium to another. Original creation, as the name implies, is a unique work. These classifications reveal how much originality creativity of thought and execution went into each bit of work (Brookhart, 2010 & Nilsson, 2012).
The requirements model measures the results of work against specific requirements. If there are criteria to be met on the project, then the work that has been done is compared to these criteria to determine the level of creativity displayed. Though it may seem difficult to measure the level of creativity achieved, when one considers that creativity is a requirement to achieve the required value, it is not difficult to measure (Nilsson, 2012).
Csikszentmuhalyi’s model is used to measure social value of the creative work. The creative value of a work is determined by the relationship between the person (individual, group, or body of work), the domain (the area of knowledge), and the field (the authorities who will judge the work). Creative strength is marked by the value that the field assigns to the person within a given domain (Csikszentmihalyi, 1997 & Nilsson, 2012).
The principles of measuring individual creativity also apply to measuring the creativity of teams, insofar as the team’s creativity is determined by that of its members. However, a successful team achieves synergy: its overall strengths exceed the strengths of the sum of its parts. A team’s ability to adapt to new situations and challenges with unique solutions can be used to measure its collective creativity.
Classifying Ideas Within the Four Creative Domains
New ideas may be classified as realistic (rooted in current knowledge) or idealistic (disconnected from current ideas or knowledge). They can be further classified into four domains (Thompson, 2003).
Creative realism: Ideas are highly original and imaginative, yet firmly connected to current ideas.
Conservative realism: Traditional ideas strongly connected to current ones.
Creative idealism: Highly original, yet unrealistic ideas (connected loosely or not at all to current ideas and structures).
Conservative idealism: Unoriginal ideas which are also unrealistic.
Teams should strive for creative realism, since it results in inventive problem-solving with achievable results. It is rooted in collaborative work and expediency, rather than individuals working alone at a slower pace. In addition, teams that exhibit creative realism tend to work incrementally, building on their ideas in a dynamic project environment. According to Tsue (2017), “Creative Realism is a process of small strategic and creative increments done together” (para. 4). Shared drives and cloud platforms are excellent tools for encouraging creative idealism. These platforms allow team members continuous shared access to files, enabling them to stay up to date and collaborate effectively. This boosts productivity, allowing for faster results.
Many fields, such as engineering and law, are still largely rooted in conservative realism. This is understandable given the structure required. However, as conservative realism is lacking in imaginative variance, it is unlikely to lead a team to excel in a project environment (Rughase, 2006).
 Threats to Creativity
There are several factors which can threaten team creativity. The first is the makeup of the team itself.  In the case of dysfunction (where the members drastically think differently), they will likely be unwilling to accept new ideas; this will inhibit the team’s ability to collaborate, be productive and efficient.  Another threat to creativity is complacency. Fear of the deviating from the comfort of the status quo may result in a lack of creative ideas. Of the project professionals interviewed for this piece, most cited conflicting ideas within the team, risk aversion, resistance to change, and fear of judgement of ideas as major roadblocks to creativity. In addition, poor communication or communications limitations can be a major inhibitor of creativity.
Project leadership also has a major impact on team creativity. Project managers who attempt to exert excessive control or micromanage can severely curtail their teams’ creativity. As the Forbes Coaches Council (2017) stated, “To learn to fly we have to test our wings, and give a chance to test and try new things.” It is important that team members have the freedom to explore their creative minds, and be empowered to achieve their own successes. Failure to allow this can hinder future creative sessions. Curiosity must be encouraged, as the curious mind may open doors to a world of options. Those who play it safe and aren’t open to new ideas will stifle their team’s creativity.
 Recommendations for Enhancing Team Creativity
An organization’s values and culture should encourage and inspire team members to think creatively when solving problems or making decisions. There are many practices an organization can adopt in team environments to promote cohesiveness. Learning from the past is an excellent way to identify the positive and negative impacts of past choices. Building upon lessons learned allows for the development of creative solutions, as does bringing in resources with the expert knowledge to teach more efficient methods. In addition, team building activities are essential to forming interpersonal bonds between colleagues and developing team dynamics. Clear communication and comprehension amongst team members promotes an overall cohesive and understanding environment.
Teams often face issues or problems which require creative thinking to resolve. When assembling a team, it is important not only to select those with the proper experience and skill sets, but to ensure diversity. People have different perspectives determined by their background and experiences, which naturally provide unique approaches to solving problems. Once the team has been assembled, a culture should be established to persuade the team members to think with analogical reasoning, or “thinking outside the box” using non-traditional ideas when necessary. Diversifying the team and encouraging this type reasoning is likely to elevate the level of creativity significantly.
When we asked our twelve project professionals for their thoughts on how to enhance creativity, they emphasized the importance of encouraging the sharing of ideas – for instance, with brainstorming sessions or open-forum meetings. Several noted that it is vital not to pass immediate judgement on any idea, and to reward successes. In addition, some interviewees recommended using an iterative approach to continuously build on creative solutions.
 Conclusion
Fostering creativity is perhaps the single most important action that organizations and project leaders should take to enhance the performance of project teams. Creativity is directly related to both individuals’ and teams’ ability to solve problems effectively and adapt to new challenges. Team creativity can be measured in a number of ways, and project leaders should aspire to foster creative realism. Awareness of common threats to creativity, as well as effective ways to enhance it, equips a project manager for success. The organization that makes nurturing creativity central to its culture will have happier and more productive project teams, as well as an increased rate of project success.

ADHD is not a ‘learning disability’, it’s much more complex, both a separate neurotype that often has learning disabilities accompany it, and a disability in a unique catagory.
ADHD on its own does not impair the brain from the act of learning though, the existing schools and education systems are just not accommodating to neurotypes that are less common. Calling it a learning disorder or learning disability is inaccurate and falls short of the full scope of what it really entails and covers.
ADHD people struggle in school, not because we have a learning disability* but because our neurotype is not accommodated and helped, and neurotypicals refuse to listen to what our needs are.
ADHD people still experience disabling symptoms caused by ADHD, and it is indeed a disability. But calling it nothing more than a learning disability is inaccurate and does everyone a disservice in understanding what the full scope of it is.
(*Many of us also do have a disability in either language or math, but we still struggle across the board in fields we actually excel in when not allowed to learn the way our brains learn the easiest. ADHD is still a disability in many regards, certainly in the field of executive dysfunction, social development, emotional regulation, and cognitive abilities. Classifying it as a learning disability simply over-simplifies and misidentifies the full scope of this incredibly complex disability/neurotype combination)

Clinical testing is usually administered by clinical psychologists working with abnormal behavior and mental disorders. Clinical Testing is an excellent way to clarify and diagnose the nature and scope of a person along with the possibility of discovering whether or not they have any disturbances and dysfunction.
How To Take A Psychological Test for A Job

It can be helpful for a small business to understand how an applicant would take a psychological test for a job. In other words: What would be the process of taking such a test from the job applicant's perspective? A psychological test for a job, often called a psychometric test, is a standard, scientific method used to measure a person's mental capabilities and behavioral style, says the Institute of Psychometric Coaching. These tests are designed to measure candidates' suitability for a role based on the required personality characteristics and aptitude. In other words, a psychological test for a job is designed, as noted, to see how well a candidate would fit in a business organization and how well she might be expected to both perform on the job and fit well into the company's culture. Korn-Ferry, the world's No. 1 executive recruiting firm, says psychometric assessments, or psychological tests for a job, offer a deeper understanding of job candidates and identify the right person for the job. Gary Burnison, Korn-Ferry CEO, says in his 2018 book, Lose the Resume/Land the Job, that the best way for a candidate to take a psychological test for a job is to prepare ahead of time by taking his own self-assessment tests. In the final chapter of the book, called Know Yourself, Burnison offers four self-assessment tests that allow a candidate to assess herself in term of traits (such as leadership or a desire to follow and take direction), drivers (such as factors that motivate a person to work and succeed), an competencies (such as resourcefulness as well as an ability and drive to plan, work hard, and be accountable). Burnison says the best way to take a psychological test for a job is to first understand your strengths, drives, motivations, and weaknesses to see if you are a good match for the kind of position the company is offering. Self-assessment, ahead of time, is the key to being successful on a psychology test for a job, says Burinson. For example, if you know, after doing a series of self-assessments, that you prefer to show up at 8 a.m., take directions from a higher up, do your job competently and accurately, and then clock out at 5 p.m., you would likely not be the right candidate for a high-level executive position. If, however, you wake up at 4 a.m. and can't wait to get the job by 6 a.m. — as Burnison does — and you enjoy creating a vision, delegating tasks, helping others to grow and succeed, and being committed to implementing a successful vision and mission for a company, then you might well be a good candidate for a high-level executive position.

What Are the Types of Psychological Assessment?
The types of psychological assessments companies can and should use fall into five types of tests, says Molly Owens writing on Tech.Co, a technology news and resources website. In an article titled, "Personality in the Workplace: Why It's Important and 5 Tests to Measure it," Owens notes the basic types of psychology assessments: Myers Briggs: This well-known tool for mapping employee personalities is widely used by businesses as psychometric assessments administered to candidates during the pre-hiring process. The tests measures many of the traits discussed above: extroversion vs. introversion, intuition vs. sensing, thinking vs. feeling, and judging vs. perceiving. "Results from these tests place the employee into one of 16 personality types, which each have their own strengths and weaknesses," says Owens. Big Five: Similar to Myers Brigs, this test measures five "dimensions of personality" that organizations look for in employees — extroversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness and neuroticism — to try to provide insight into how a new hire or current employee interacts with coworkers, and manages work-related stress. Occupational Interest Inventories: Businesses use these psychological tests to put employees into the right roles. An example of an Occupational Interest Inventory (or OII) is the Holland Code Career test, which measures how interested a job applicant, new hire, or a candidate for promotion is in different roles and tasks.
Disc Behavior Inventory: Also known by its acronym, DISC, this psychology test classifies candidates into four “styles” based on questions about their behaviors at work. "It helps organizations find out more about a candidate’s tendencies toward: dominance, influence, support, and control," says Owens. Situation Judgement Tests: Also known by the acronym, STJs, these tests try to see how an employee interacts with customers or handles pressure in common difficult situations. Going beyond the other tests, STJs put prospective hires or employees in "realistic, simulated situations to find out which pre-loaded responses the employee feels are most or least effective," says Owens.
