I would be fair with any other movie, but this one wasn't salvageable from a purely conceptual point of view. Not even the most cutting edge visual effects in the world could've made this movie work, you'd need a complete re-write.

It's shameful they took one of Ray Bradbury's best tales and bastardized it in such a ludicrous and despicable manner, a pile of cinematic excrement that insults the audience's intelligence by merely existing.

You'd think I'm about to do some twist on ya and recommend it in the end, but no. Don't bother. It's not even "Ha-ha funny" bad. It's bland and boring bad. It's uncharismatic bad. It's like being stuck in a room with the most boring person in the world as they tell you all about their favorite tones of white noise.

Don't bother. Skip it. Movie bad. I'm done.

Editing Tips: Watch Out for Tautology

When you say the same thing twice with different words, it's a "tautology". They make manuscripts wordy.

Examples:

He shrugged his shoulders. -> He shrugged.

She clapped her hands. -> She clapped.

Her feet stepped back. -> She stepped back.

He hand picked up the knife. -> He picked up the knife.

If a movement is necessary for an action, the movement is included in the action and doesn't need to be spelled out separately.

He reached out his arm and took the book from her -> He took the book from her.

She lifted the glass to her lips and drained it. -> She drained her glass.

Am I too late to the breath taking jokes?

You guys know I love ya, don't you? But yeah, movies! These movies are like these protagonists, absolutely wild. They're proof that, even if you have a silly and goofy concept of a movie, you will just ride it if you have very likeable characters to accompany you. These guys are so likeable, and Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter truly love to play these characters.

I may have a bit of a hot take, say that as the movies go on they get worse in quality. The first one is very tight and uses set ups and pay offs better than I've seen any modern movie do. The second one is really goofy, but in doing so it also gets kinda lame in parts. The third movie came a bit too late and you can feel that on the energy of it all, but it's still got enough charisma to stick the landing.

There's really no wrong way to enjoy these movies, but if you wanna check them out, tamper your expectations, grab a bowl of popcorn, and chill.

I am never inclined to make fun of tumblr's cheesy attempts to make money and generally support them even if you consider them cringe. Websites need money to operate and tumblr needs to find a way to make money consistently or it will cease to exist. I do not want tumblr to cease to exist, and the most common alternative method of making money is to collect and sell all of our personal data, which I do not want either. Websites that can support themselves via people willing to spend $25 bucks to commit to a bit is a sign of a brighter and more sustainable version of the internet.
