Merlin said, looking at the chained up dragon with an unpleasant look of disapproval. Arthur was standing next to him, like always, glaring at the dragon.

Kilgharrah raised a brow, I mean really!?!? Can dragons even do that? And gave an amused laugh with an unhelpful smile.

“Oh but young warlock it quite is.”

In witch Merlin’s magic goes haywire in the last ditch attempt to save Arthur who is currently dying in his arms. Because please, he’s the greatest sorcerer to ever walk the earth, magic incarnate!

In this Merlin’s time magic amplifies and ends up sending him all the way back to the day he met Arthur.

It also turns out Arthur remembers.

So, ten years worth of memories in younger bodies back in time?

What could go wrong.

Planning the scenes for a potential fanfic. Try and guess what it'll be about!

So for those who may or may not know I was planning on writing Bark & Leaves first, except I got to a point after 14—bloody—k words where I was dissatisfied with the progression and overall how mundane the fic was. I will likely get back to it for many reasons, including the fact that I am attached to the relaxed world I've created and the dynamic between characters — just not now.

Instead I have delved into this other fic, which is definitely more along the lines of what I usually write/like to write (so fantasy, quests, magic...), and so far so good. We'll see how that goes, I haven't been able to write a lot recently, though I'm hoping that will change very soon.

And finally, my true love, Dark Eyes Stained Light, has not had a single. new. word. written for it. I'm a little worried I might never have time to properly finish it, and it's always in the back of my mind, begging to be done — it's just that I want it to be really good, everything planned out, character dynamics fully understood, world-building that makes sense... Basically I want to deliver.

And I haven't been delivering at all, due to simply not having time for it! It's definitely my greatest fear for when I finally start proper studies again: will I have time for such time-consuming hobbies? Especially since I don't want to fall into a situation where I start a fic only to never complete it, so even if the above has many words, as long as I'm not 100% sure I can finish it I might never post it.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Hope this makes some people feel better about their own productivity, at least! Thank you for reading!

I've never been so optimistic to actually finish writing a fanfic like I am with the Top Gun fic I'm writing at the moment (-> You Can Be My Wingman Anytime)

I've written about 16k words so far (which is more than I've ever written for any other fanfic) and I'm still going strong.

Today I've also taken some time to actually work out the plot, bringing all my loose ideas into a proper order (which I've never done for any other fanfic before because I've never had so many ideas). And miraculously, it all aligns perfectly!

I'm just so proud of myself and happy that I had to share this!

They spoke life into a story of self reliance and resilience, unwilling or unable to comprehend that such a life was nothing but a death sentence to a wolf - mundane or magical in birth. Wolves lived and died by the pack. A packless wolf was a dead one, or as good as. To wander alone, untethered to a community or family, was the greatest shame of all. It painted you as unlovable. It painted you as untouchable. It painted you as other. Gary Sanderson had never had a pack.

Thinking about modern!Aemond's tattoos for Burnt Over And Over Again and I feel like these are so fitting!

Like super detailed art, black&white sketch styles, the Greek/Old pagan mythology themes, LIKE IT FEELS SO RIGHT!! 😳 I'm sure he'll have a few actually coloured/colourful designs somewhere on his body, but I imagine a lot of simple black ink patchwork-esque tattoos scattered across his arms, a few on his chest and neck, and his back. Maybe something on his hip and thighs too 🤔🤔

ALSO I'm thinking, at some point, probably near the end of this fic, Rhaena's going to get one! I'm imagining Aemond goes with her to get her first tattoo, and she chooses something like this:

Like something floral, and pretty, and dragonfly seems cute! Or maybe a butterfly, with her favourite flowers behind it...like it'd suit her! Hers will definitely be super bright and colorful though, like all pink, purple, blue, green with gold and shit. Like definitely something really suited to her bright artistic style. Idk I just love the idea of it being a thing they do together once they're officially together 🥹😌

Chapter Summary:

Kim starts meeting with his father to provide a distraction. Chay redirects a tense conversation to define his relationship with Kim a little better. Kinn starts to feel more affected by a trauma from his past than he ever has previously. As for Namphueng? She just wants to know what DTF means.
