If I could go to college without debt I would make it my job to get a degree in every little thing that interested me. I'd get a doctorate in film studies. I'd have a bachelor's degree for every science I like. I'd try to learn at least 5 languages with varying results. I would learn something "useful" like coding and then follow it up with a ""useless"" degree like art history. I'd be the world record speed run holder for getting every degree possible.

But I can't afford college without going into massive debt, so instead I spent the last 5 years trying to figure out what I am passionate enough about to consider going into debt over, because unfortunately being passionate about everything is extremely expensive to pursue.

Hello, I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening.

As some may know I go by Mars and I'm a black trans woman who is struggling to keep some stability in my life whether FINANCIALLY, MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY, AND PHYSICALLY. I'm currently doing the best I can to provide myself and my pets, 3 cats and 2 dogs with food, comfort, water, and better housing conditions.

okay but like, as much as I am a fervent proponent of “not every ship should get married and in fact some of them would Never” - especially in context of enemies-to-lovers - I hope that everyone who sees me posting like that knows I am not talking about Spuffy. in fact, I would go so far as to say they are the two characters most willing and even desperate to get married that I’ve ever seen.

one of Buffy’s most persistent struggles is her right to girlhood and the inevitable expiration date she faces as the Slayer. she’s forced to fight and claw for every possible milestone that other girls around her take for granted - trying out for the cheer squad, running for prom queen, going to college, etc. one of the nightmares she has after killing Angel is about being unable to be a bride and get married. in Something Blue, she throws herself into wedding planning with a passion that speaks to her having daydreamed about it. in most cases, her commitment issues veer toward clinging rather than avoidance, and marriage is absolutely one of those beautiful, unreachable things that were ripped away from her when the Powers chose her. it haunts her.

Spike is probably even more obvious - he’s a man from Victorian England, a society that held marriage on a pedestal. furthermore, he is fundamentally a creature of devotion, never straying from Drusilla for over a century, and then from Buffy even after she was dead. their desperation is also quite similar - Spike’s original community had considered him undesirable, barring him from a love match; and while a union may have been arranged for him as a human, his vampirism took that option away entirely, in the same way that Buffy’s becoming did it. during Something Blue, he is just as committed to planning the minutiae of the wedding as Buffy is, even though they could’ve just decided to do it at the courthouse and get it over with under a shoehorned pretext. he’s been dreaming of a wedding for 150 years, let’s be real

Spuffy would’ve gone insane about a wedding. they would’ve fallen in love worse. they would have threatened each other with divorce constantly but stayed married anyway for however long they lived. hell, they should’ve done it just for the CPS reasons in season 6, just imagine having to hide it from everyone except the government, lest Anya thinks they’re trying to steal her thunder

Last night Tiny Tim was showing signs of a cystitis flare-up, so I stayed up until after 4 AM so when Jon got up for work I could ask him to help me medicate the cat.

We gave him some anti-inflammatory meds, and I kept him in the main room with me the rest of the night/morning, and kept Leon and Jill in the hallway so they wouldn't bother him. Whenever Tim is feeling sick, Leon seems to think it's his chance to go all Starscream on his ass and try to become the Alpha Cat or whatever.

Anyway.

Tim does seem improved this morning. He was excited for breakfast, is getting around fine, came to me for snuggles, and hasn't been unusually vocal like he was last night (he makes a certain noise when he has discomfort/pain) and the other cats are treating him normally

I'm still keeping an eye on him. Will likely give him another dose of medicine when Jon gets home from work, but hopefully the worst of it has passed 🤞🤞

Update on 7/17,

I've received some much appreciated help and thank you so much!

Now, my oil pressure in my car is gone and the warning light is on constantly not just when I start it.

I still have an hour drive to and from work, 6 days a week. Gas and car maintenance are needed and EXPENSIVE and im not doing okay.

Everything happens at once I guess.

I've been homeless since the end of March, and FINALLY found a place to live!

The security deposit is quite a lot at once and im still $2000 short. If I can't come up with that by July 20th I lose the place and the 1k I already put down to reserve it.

Plus my catalytic converter fell off my car and its currently in my trunk. But priorities.

I can't lose this place. Its perfect. Its the only one I've found near work. Im out of options.

I think, during the Carnivale Lecroux days, Frost wasn’t a showstopper or anything. He didn’t perform in the Big Top (if anything he probably just had a booth), unlike Gideon and Gricko, who did.

And I mostly say this because of episode 5–Big Top Bop. Gideon and Gricko knew what to do—almost as if they have done this countless times before. They know what makes the crowd happy, they perform a bit of a show. And sure, Frost knew what he wanted to do, but he fumbled. Like he’s not used to giving out these big performances like Gideon and Gricko.

Help Us Recover After a Serious Car Accident & some financial woes Hi friends !

I know I've been on hiatus for a couple months due to student teaching. And I don't make posts like this lightly. But I'm reaching out during a really difficult time. Just a few days ago, my partner, Randy (@0fbabylon) was in a scary car accident that left the car badly damaged and her dealing with painful whiplash. We’re beyond grateful that she’s okay and healing, but the emotional and financial toll has been heavy.

Right now, I’m five weeks away from finishing student teaching, which means we’re living off of savings and student loans—with essentially no income coming in. Between medical needs, car repairs (or replacement), and just keeping up with essentials, we’re stretched thin and feeling overwhelmed.

We’re hoping to raise $1,300 to help us bridge this gap (I know that's a steep number but it's ballparking the expenses to fixing our transport, our current financial disposition, and other nickels and dimes that this fix will amount to). But truly, every dollar counts and helps us breathe a little easier as we get through this.

This is super embarrassing but we’ve run out of options, my partner is in the UK on a student visa, and we have a final payment to make to his university. The uni have given us a deadline of April 13th, and after that they will report him to immigration services, meaning he could get deported back home. He is gay, and being sent back to his muslim home country, puts him and his family in danger. If anyone can help at all, so we can get at least some of this final payment made to show his university that we’re seriously trying, it would be extremely extremely appreciated.
