Genuinely I think headcanon edits are extremely fun, I just think people should stop trying to fight against the original art style like their life depends on it. Some great ideas get absolutely ruined when this happens. Like at least personally, I think drawing a semi-realistic nose on a cartoony face just won’t look good or make sense no matter how nice that nose looks disconnected from the whole drawing because it doesn’t suit the proportions of the original art.

Like be confident, make your own fanart! Your style is great, and trying to glue it to a different one does not do it justice at all! I understand drawing is hard, trust me I’m ass at it, but like, yall have talent, stop weighing yourselves down by the limitations of the original piece. Fuck it, redraw the face entirely, you can do better, I know you can :)

that charlie redesign wanted me to redesign some others so here are some others, i was going to do husk, nifty, and sir pentious but i didnt feel like doing that

individual characters and design notes below

i wanted to give her this soft color palette, making her stick out from the rest of hell, like an "angel" in hell

gave her a pink suit like her pilot design

gave her gold accents to give that royalty feel

her hair is now more curly/swirly to giver her a sheep look, along with the ears, kind of like how lucifer is associated with goats charlie has sheep

i also gave her ears to maker her not look like just a human

the darker pink-red color is supposed to contrast with her softer colors but not that much, it's supposed to convey that she is still a demon, the horns were also added to give that feel

bigger cheek makeup (?) and those gold "chains" were added to giver her a circus clown/ring leader look because hell is supposed to be like a circus

gave her tap shoes to convey shes likes music or someshit

darker color to contrast with charlies, a sun and moon thing going on

made her more moth like by making her hair look like moth wings, fuzzy leg warmers, and antennas (are those even antennas do moths even have antennas)

added a silver like color in her design to match with charlies gold

gave back her stocking from her pilot design and made her hand warmers mirror them

wanted to giver her a hot topic employee look

made her more look like she died in 2014 by giving her the red and black stocking + hand warmer, leg warmers, and making her x asymmetrical

her worm out shorts are suppose to give a 2014 feel but also are like that because moths just eat clothes sometimes

gave her the ribbon on her waist to mimic one of her old designs

her red is the same red in charlies pallet, they match +]

made him purple because i think limiting the main colors to each character is nice also because i think purple is a much more lust full color and to look similar to his old design

made him more spider like by adding an extra pair of eyes, fangs, two more legs and a spider butt lol

made him more fluffy and rounder to giver him a more effeminate/gnc look

gave him eyelashes for the same reason above

gave him a scar on the side that he has the golden tooth and different eyes because i think it would be cool is that was from an injury he had when he was alive

the coat was added so that it looks similar to his suit but still different enough so that not everyone is wearing one

the design on his pider butt and coat are suppose to look like a stylized spiders web

the hearts at the end of his heels are suppose to replicate the end of spiders feet

still kept him relatively skinny because i think he would have one of those arcs were a character starts off skinny but gets fatter to show that they're happy with life

still kept his suit because its such an important part to his character tbh and also so he can mirror charlies pink soft light pink suit with his dark dulled down red suit

gave him a tie so he looks more professional compared to charlies cutie bow tie

dulled down his colors so make him see older and stuck in an era

made him looked aged by giving him grey hairs, stubble, and eye bags

made his deer features more obvious by making his antlers bigger, more deer like ears, giving him a nose pike charlie, and giving him hooves

still kept him skinny to give off that sickly skinny look

Part 1

5. Space Zebra Print:

Some more top tier pattern mixing. Neither of these are zebra print and yet to me they both read that way? Odd. I LOVE the colors on this one. My only major problem with this one is I oddly want MORE trim? I just wish there was some more detailing down the center front of the vest piece, and maybe something on the sleeves? We hardly ever see it full length from the back (bc like why would we?), but I LOVE the shape of the tails.

4. Red and Blue:

I like the yoke/stripe through the sleeves and the chest a lot, and I like that their contrast is the wrong side of the fabric. Love the little highlights of green and yellow in the bias trim. Love that the sleeves are super short to reveal the sleeve cuffs. The light colored shirt is very nice because it creates nice contrast right next to his face (this is why traditionally your shirt is the lightest part of your suit). It also looks great with the Klingon marriage fur robe thing.

My only real problem with this outfit is that I think cutaway coats in general are a little unflattering tbh. This is the costume that he wears the most without the jacket and he looks like such a little businessman 😭.

3. Mondrian:

Quark is really demonstrating some high-level pattern mixing here but he's following the rules - different scales and similar but not identical color pallets. I love love love the texture of the shirt.

In fact I think this is my favorite of his shirts, and I like that it bears pretty much no resemblance to a modern dress shirt. I love the little double trim on the collar and it's echo on the sleeve.

And I love the weird little Space Fashion shape of the front hemline.

2. Red Striped Tails:

Love the color palette on this one, I'm a suckered for red and pink and purple together. Love the little bias panels down the front.

And look at the pattern matching at the back of the collar!

I also love that the tails go all the way down to his ankles!

Cons: Once again it's a little too Earth for Quark. He looks like a regular Terran ringmaster. He also looks like the Mayor of Munchkinland, but I'm pretty sure the Mayor of Munchkinland is on Quark's fashion inspo mood board so that's fine.

1. Aztec Cherry:

Aztec Cherry my beloved ♥️. I love her. Love the fabric. Love the shape of the lapels. Love the lovely soft roll line. Love the trim on the seamlines.

My only quibble is that it's a little close to his skintone, but they balance it out by putting the blue right next to his face. I love how there's like eight fabrics in this costume but they all balance so nicely.

I started fully re-designing the Nejiten kids. YEARS ago (like 10 years ago) I made designs that didn’t make much sense. Even the names were a bit out there. But, I wanted to try again and this time take more effort into pulling character traits from both Neji and Tenten into their kids; appearance and behavior wise.

So, the twins are a modernized alternative to Neji’s design. I swapped the over pulled jacket for a side zipper and a cowl neck. Under the jacket, there is a black spandex tech top to give a nod to the green pander tech suit Lee wears. Their hair is also tied back in the low pony tail, however with their bangs out. In order to tell the twins apart (more for myself LOL) I changed the location of the bandages, just as Neji would wrap on side of his body as a gennin.

Meiten’s outfit is a modern crop and high waisted cargo pants in brown. I think I will change the coloring to the top to red and white to match Tenten and give a nod to her current/Shippuuden look. She wears pink elbow pads as well and sandals instead of shinobi gear. These designs would be about two or three years before the Boruto gang became gennin. Meiten is the same year as her cousin Boruto, and her brothers have been active gennin already.

These are sketches of fully flushed out designs for Boruto Next gen. If you read my head cannons for Neji and Tenten’s kids, you’d see that the twins would be chunnin around this time as their cousin Boruto started running a muck. Their styles are heavily inspired by Chinese street fashion and mixed with some Neji and Tenten touches. I wanted their color palletes to be simple and opposite. The idea of these two wearing white didn’t fit well in my mind so I let it as red and black. I also changed the narrative to where Nozomi is on Team Lee and Hizashi is on Team Inuzuka. Both Lee and Kiba had to deal with Hyuga’s on their team growing up, might as well keep it pushing lol

I also loved the idea of Meiten and Metal being super close friends/ “cousins” (since they address Lee as “Uncle”). If it were up to me, they would’ve made the next gen Team Gai. Keeping with Tenten’s gennin color combo, I also modernized Meiten’s outfit to high waisted shorts. I was debating on giving her weights as well for her wrists, but I’ll keep thinking about it.

For present time Naruto/ Boruto Next gen, Tenten’s design does not change she’s perfect in my eyes, however, I did think of a design for Neji;

I wish the dc did more color theory in their comic tbh, and it’s not like i look for it too much or like try and find the symbolism, but it’d be nice to see like Dick in vivids Bruce in a more dulled down grey scale, maybe like tim in earth tones, and steph in like purples and blue, or like just have different styles for them, because i’d love seeing their color pallets because i think they are so interesting

im assuming this is the case but were jesse / lukas / petra’s admin designs having similar palettes / overall color schemes to the original three on purpose ??? i remember you doing admin jesse art before so im not 100% sure but i think its a really cool detail unintentional or not :)

actually no not at all. i didn’t even realize that until now 👀

i kinda wanted their color pallets to all stay similar to the colors that really make each character stand out like jesse’s green suspenders, lukas’ magenta shirt, and petra’s red hair.

jesse’s design is based off your classic hero look with the onesie and the cape. the straps around his suit are supposed to represent the suspenders, and they, along with his eyes, are the only parts of him that glow. his colors are supposed to be calm and comfortable, yet dark and intimidating to look at because his admin self is honestly pretty sad. he’s eternally grumpy and wearing a smile is rare for him, so the colors also represent his gloomy mood. (he’s absolutely in no way evil though he’s still the same happy little jesse we know and love, it’s just very hard for him to take on positive feelings while in this form)

lukas’ design is supposed to look like someone of high authority. he’s a leader after all, and i wanted his design to be so anyone who takes a look at him knows he must be a person of high caliber. kind of imagine a pokemon antagonist and how they’re always decked out in attire that kinda makes you think like oh yeah that must be the boss, meanwhile look at all the grunts and they wear something similar, just not as ✨extra✨. yeah like that’s kind of what i had in mind for lukas, but instead of his magenta, i gave him purple because i personally really feel like purple is a powerful color. he’s the most like his original self compared to petra and jesse and he’s far more capable of staying calm and collected. also a good boy. looks intimidating but has the sweetest smile and the softest distorted laugh.

petra is… far more unhinged. her design is not entirely based off of her original appearance, but more around the energy and emotion she gives off. i kinda had a volcano in mind for her because it’s easy to spark a fuse in her and she can erupt and explode at any time really. she’s the most chaotic of the three, and if you read the details of jesse and lukas’ admin experience, petra’s is far less happy. she absolutely had to deal with becoming an admin all alone, and while that does sound sad for her, it’s honestly for the better. she would have been too worried about her appearance being so similar to romeo’s if she were around anyone else, and she gets to cope with that realization by herself and in a way that is honestly much better for her. like she goes down into a massive cave and destroys everything lol. uses her powers to destroy so much and take out all of her anger and aggression on mobs and her surroundings. she’s actively exploding, and once she gets it all out, she feels much better and theeen gets to really sit down and think it all over and cope with this newfound identity crisis

but yeah no the similar themes/pallets to the original admins was a complete accident 💀

Rating All of The Howlters New Outfits (except the randomized ones)

Some of you actually asked for this, so here's my review of the Howlters new outfits!

Starting with Dils Formal:

I honestly don't know how to feel about this. It's just not Dil. It doesn't go with his nerdy dad vibe at all. It makes him look older, it doesn't fit him right, and the color is really weird. If they had gone with the blue and some different shoes I think I would have liked it more, but since they didn't put much effort into it it's just bad. Objectively it's an okay suit, but for Dil it just doesn't work. So yeah overall just a no 4/10.

Next His Sleepwear:

Why did they like this so much? What is actually wrong with them? If it was just the pants and the slippers it would have been fine, but the pants, the slippers, AND socks...it's just too much. No no no bad. 2/10.

Next His Party Wear:

What are they doing to him?? Who is this? I'm kind of just staring at this not knowing what to say, because I think if, minus that UGLY HAT, this was on a different and younger sim it would look okay. This looks like Dil is going through a midlife crisis. I like that the shoes match the shirt, thats nice, and I like the overall color pallet, BUT NOT ON DIL! So I'm weirdly torn, but since this look is on Dil I don't like it. Again it's not that bad but on Dil it's just horrible 4.5/10. I hate that fucking hat.

Next His Swimwear:

You don't get how relieved I am that they didn't put him in a fucking speedo. I like this a lot. This looks like a father, which is perfect for Dil. It's cute, it's simple, and I like the colors they chose. 9/10

Next His Hot Weather:

Meh. They didn't change much, they just made it worse. I prefered the original because I feel like the green looked better. Also wearing slippers on a hot day sounds absolutely HORRIBLE! 3/10

Next His Cold Weather:

I absolutely LOVE THIS! It's so fun! Dil in the horrible 80s dad aesthetic works perfectly! It's still nerdy as well! I feel like this is perfect. If they had made his whole wardrobe this over the top ugly neon nerdy look I would have loved it! 10/10

That's it for Dil. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I feel like they should have gone for nerdy Dad than whatever the hell they actually did. Next up is Tabitha.

Tabitha's Everyday:

This is just an upgraded version of her original outfit. I like the new hair color, though I wish they looked through different hairstyles cause the one they chose is not giving what it needed to give. I LOVE her new tattoo, I think it's fun that they gave her it. I also do like the shoes matching the hair. This is cute! 8.5/10

Next Her Formal:

I like the dress, but the outfit looks unfinished. They should have changed her makeup into something more dramatic to match the dress, and they also should have put some bracelets and necklaces on her. They did good on picking the main part of the outfit now they need to go back and finish it. 6/10 (I couldn't get a good screenshot with the tattoo sorry)

Next Her Sleepwear:

Slay queen. I love this honestly. I like how lavender has become her color. The sunglasses are iconic. The only thing I hate is SOCKS WITH SLIPPERS! THAT LOOKS LIKE IT FEELS HORRIBLE! Other than the sock and slipper combo this eats. 9.5/10

Next Her Party:

I beg your pardon? What is THIS and WHY was Dan so obsessed with it? This is horrible. I'm glad they remembered that necklaces and nails exist but I'm upset they exist on this monstrosity. Nothing about this goes together. THIS. IS. THEIR. WORST. LOOK. 1/10.

Next Her Swimwear:

It's kind of a mess but I kind of love it. I feel like it suits this new Tabitha. I don't have much to say other than it strangely works. 7/10.

Next Her Hot Weather:

Fuck right off. Daniel you know NOTHING about goths. This is horrible. This poor woman is going to feel so sticky and sweaty, and it wont even be worth it because this outfit is trash. Just no. 1.5/10.

Next Her Cold Weather:

I really like this. I love how throughout the outfit pink pops up, and I like that it makes sense for the category it's in. Good job Dan and Phil 9/10

That's it for Tabitha! For the most part her new outfits aren't bad. I like that they (unintentionally) gave her a pastel goth sort of vibe, I like that she does look like a streamer now, and I think the new tattoo is really cool. I will never forgive them for her party wear though. Moving on to Dalien.

Daliens Everyday:

This is fine. I wish the pants were the skinny jeans because those were more emo, and I wish he had black eyeliner. Overall it's not bad, but I prefer the original. Also they should have stuck with the purple highlights instead of changing them to red. 7.5/10

Next His Sportswear:

Ew ew ew. This is rancid. The hoodie makes him look bald, and I despise the ripped socks they gave him. I actually like the shorts though they remind me of something Phil would have had back in 2010, but even then working out in those shorts sounds like a nightmare. Other than the shorts this whole look is a wreck. 1.5/10

Next His Party Wear:

The outfit itself is okay but this is NOT Dalien. This looks like Dalien stole from a skater boy. They had the opportunity to go absolutely insane with this outfit. They could have given him crazy black makeup, a sheer shirt, some fishnets, and platforms, but instead they did this. It's lazy. It's not emo or goth or whatever they want him to be. 4/10

Next His Swimwear:

Jesus Christ. NO. Just NO. 1.5/10

Next His Hot Weather:

Why didn't they give him FISHNETS? Why did they choose those grandpa socks??? Why is EVERYTHING GREY BUT THE DRESS?? I think the idea of Dalien wearing a dress is cunty, but not like this. I feel like he would be a long skirt kind of guy. Also the cuff like glove things in the summer sounds horrible. 4.5/10.

Next His Cold Weather:

Again this is just a no. Nothing about this is emo or goth or whatever they want him to be. I like the jacket and the boots a lot; if they had put Dalien in some skinny jeans and removed that fucking hat this would have been okay. I mean this in a derogatory way, this is something Dan would wear. 5.5/10

That's it for Dalien. Overall it's just not good. Most of it makes no sense, and they also should have given him black eyeliner.

In conclusion, they really did the Howlters dirty. This is probably the ugliest dressed family I've ever seen. None of these outfits gave what they needed to give. Also this family is a sensory NIGHTMARE!

It was, once again, time for Kafka to leave off for a mission.

You’ve gotten used to this schedule, but you got to keep her a little later today. She didn’t have to be at the banquet hall until 9:00 at night, giving you two the whole day. When the clock hit around 8:00, she hurried into your shared room to put on her dress of choice. 

It was a plum colored dress, very similar to her hair. Instead of the updo her hair was usually in, she decided to leave it down, but she wanted help styling it while she did her makeup.

“Dearest, would you come here?” She called, your footsteps taking you from the other room into the bedroom.

“Yeah? What's up?” You asked, tossing your phone onto the plush bed before standing behind her. “That dress is gorgeous. Suits you well.”

She smiled. “Thank you. I just need help styling my hair for tonight. I don’t know if it should be flat-ironed or curled.”

You hummed, going into the bathroom to grab some supplies. You grabbed both the curling iron and the flat iron, taking some heat protectant so her luscious hair doesn’t fry. 

“How does flat ironing sound? I think it’ll look nice with the dress style. Pair it with some gold eyeshadow and gold jewelry, too,” you stated, running your hands through her hair, applying heat protectant.

She nodded, applying a light coat of foundation while keeping her eye on the time. “Straightening it sounds fine. I barely do it, anyways.”

So you got to work, taking fine care of each strand and going over them a couple times to make the look perfect. She was applying makeup, occasionally chatting with you about little things, or joking about her look. 

You were going over her hair a second time, making sure that all ends and pieces were not missed. 

“So, what's this mission even about anyways? Or is it top-secret?” You smiled, lightly prying. “I won’t tell a soul about it, I swear on my whole life.”

She giggled, looking at you through the mirror. “Jail worthy, as usual. But I won’t get caught. It’s to steal a jewel that Elio needs and wrote in the script. I know exactly how to be successful.”

You nodded. “As long as you don’t kill too many people… but anyways, who’s going with you this time? This seems too nice to have Silver Wolf assist you. Is it solo, or is Blade going with you?”

“Just Bladie. He’s going to be there for a distraction, anyways. I’ll throw him in the middle so everyone will pay attention to him,” she joked, pulling a laugh from you. “But, in all seriousness, he’s necessary to complete the job.”

You were still paying attention to her hair, careful not to leave any strand under the heat for too long. 

“Which gold would look better? The one from this pallet, or this one?” She held out two pallets, one with a more glittery gold, and one that’s a lighter, more toned down version that doesn’t have all of the sparkles. You took another look at her dress before picking which one would look the nicest. 

She nodded, applying the shade of choice. You liked times like this- times where you both could be with each other without conflict waiting to arise, times where she’s not trying to keep away from bounty hunters, and times where there's no tension or anxiety coursing through her veins. This was a moment of peace, where you could both drop your worries and relax for even just a few minutes (in this case, a system hour). 

“Finished! How do you like your hair?” You stepped back, shutting the flat iron off and unplugging it from the side of the wall. She ran her hands through the strands, nodding in approval before smiling at herself through the mirror. 

“It looks nice. It goes well with the dress style. Good call.”

You smiled, happy that she likes the look. You put everything back, allowing her to finish up her makeup. 

When you re-entered the room, you pulled out a couple pairs of high heels for her to pick from. There were varieties of colors- white, nude, silver, gold, black, you name it. She stood up, looking over the selection.

“If you’re going to wear gold jewelry, and you have gold eye makeup on, wear the gold pair of heels. Trust me, it will balance out everything just perfectly!” You advised. You sounded so passionate, leaving a gentle smile painted on the stellaron hunters face. She picked the heels up and put them on, spinning around in the mirror to make sure they fit nicely and feel good to walk in. 

You took some jewelry out of the jewelry box, presenting her with a couple of nice gold necklaces and rings, topped off with a pair of pretty earrings that match the same theme. She chose one of the necklaces and two rings, sliding the rings on and having you put the necklace on. She put the earrings on before toying with her hair, throwing it over her shoulders to hang off her head, spilling onto her back. 

“You’re beautiful, Kafka,” you mumbled, in slight awe of how gorgeous she looked right now. She giggled. “Thank you, dear. I wish you could come with, but it’s too dangerous. I wouldn’t want to risk you being kidnapped, hurt, or killed.”

You nodded, sitting down on the bed. The time hit 8:45, and she walked over to you.

“I better head out now, but I should be back by tomorrow morning,” She said, smiling. “I love you.”

“I love you too, Kafka,” you replied, giving her a long kiss on the lips before escorting her out the door.

You'd known that loving her was so dangerous, so disastrous and threatening to the core of your very being, that you'd resisted at every turn... but like everything when it came to her.

You'd given in.

And let her consume you.

And you hadn't regretted loving her for one single second.

You lean heavier on the cane at your side and shift under the umbrella that your assistant holds over you. You know she'd call you spoiled for it, roll her eyes and make a comment about how delicate you must be.

But then again, she'd also be tucked into your side. Not six fucking feet deep.

The patter of rain muffles the squelch of wheels on grass and you don't even both to look to see who has come to settle in beside you.

You don't care because they don't matter.

Nothing matters. Not anymore.

Because every time you breathe, it feels like you're losing her all over again.

"Would it help if I said despite the decrepit state of you, you were somehow the hottest widow I've ever seen?"

You sigh without blinking, still staring at the perfectly lined writing of your favorite name.

"Fuck off, Raven."

You miss your love so much in that moment, that you know you must sound eerily like her.

Raven's chuckle hits your ears like fingernails on sandpaper, and you regret having even invited her to begin with.

"There she is," she says through a sniffle that you know has more to do with the wet autumn air than anything relating to your loss. "How are you holding up?"

You feel yourself frown at the question, both for its stupidity and its intention, because when the hell has she ever cared about anyone else's feelings?

Much less yours.

"I'm fine," you say mechanically. The same way you've been saying it to everyone who's asked for the last 76 hours, 39 minutes, and however many meaningless seconds.

But the truth is... you're not fine. And you know you'll never be fine again. Because you stare at her name etched into freshly cut marble and loathe how it does nothing to convey the sheer force of nature that your wife is.

How her hair feels when it tickles your collarbones as she inevitably leans in for 'just one more kiss'. How it smells like her favorite shampoo mixed with just a touch of your signature perfume. Because for decades you've been in the disgustingly domestic habit of letting her rest on your shoulder while you read to her, tucked warm and safe in the haven of your oversized bed.

Or how she'd gone soft in her old age, in all the right ways, always so warm and pliant in the weakening of your fingers.

None of it tells how she could make the world burn with only a flick of her elegant wrist, and sigh the softest sweet breath across the dip of your neck. How she'd rage at you with her fire. Make the earth shatter in her fury. A thousand pieces of her love spilled out at your feet, because she trusted you to collect every one.

How the lipstick of her goodbye morning kisses always left your mouth just a single shade a redder. How she'd never noticed that you'd changed your color pallete just to suit that, because having her on your lips always made your day better.

At least... you don't think she's ever noticed. You know you've certainly never told her, more enchanted with idea of it being your little secret of just how much you adore her.

Outfit Breakdown:

Here's a look into everyone's outfits and makeup! I might break down these scenes in the future as some of them will be incredibly relevant to certain arcs.

✩ Starting with Dan, I wanted to go with a really laidback attire. Dan is seen in a pair of vans, a cropped tank top and loosely styled hair. However! Since she is hosting, she threw on a tie and some slacks to look presentable. Meanwhile with the the makeup, I opted for a 60s style eyeshadow and eyeliner combo, I felt like it brought a lot of attention to the eyes, something I'm sure Ares could appreciate. As for Kai, I kept the green color scheme as I resonate that color with him. His cross is seen loosely around the neck with a nice button up opened just enough to show his chest. As for his makeup, there was some flecks of blue and green sparkles as well as two lines of blue and green intertwined. That was more of a symbolism of him and Atlas being two threads connected. After his evening with Alex, the colors blend to a teal until finally he rubs it all off before his conversation with Taryn.

✩ Gum and Syx's hair colors feel complimentary to one another as one is pastel pink while the other is a pastel blue. Gum really speaks through her clothing as she feels most confident in alternative attire. Meanwhile, Syx dresses in much more pastel clothing, she really likes to show off her fit figure. Gabriel (looks v pretty here btw) came in a comfortable streetwear attire. He likes to save a lot of the flashier outfits for gigs and bar hoping but is typically seen in casual yet stylish clothing. Ares on the other hand came in a very sleek outfit as well as some chromatic eyeshadow to match. Too bad those pockets didn't hold a lighter in there.

✩ BOOF! I opted for warmer colors for Icarus, picking a comfy leather jacket and some broken in jeans. I wanted it to feel down to earth and inviting. Meanwhile for Frances, there were a lot of textures in their clothing as well as sparkles reminiscent of tears on their eyes. Their whole scene in this arc did not go as planned, originally there was supposed to be a misunderstanding and while at the time it worked (their kiss at the arcade wasn't cannon at that point) the more I read it, I was like this doesn't suit them in the state that they're in. I love the way things played out, the more it sat with me, the more bittersweet things felt and I just knew I made the right choice. Icarus throughout the scene tried to help ground Frances in the present whereas Frances felt incredibly overwhelmed by the distress of it all. So I really wanted to reflect that through their clothing.

✩ Ah, hello Rowan. There's a lot of symbolism to Rowan's attire. I'll probably touch base on it more in the future but some key items! He has not kept up with bleaching his hair that stark white he's normally seen with. His charcoal eyeshadow with the two lines intensified his eyes while his clothes had a bit of a mesmerizing patter to it. He understands how to use his appearance to pull people in. Meanwhile, Atlas's was what I like to call fashionably disheveled, his eyes covered in messily applied eyeshadow and glitter. His shirt had pins as if it was barely holding together the seams, sorta reminiscent of his mental state. Seeing Rowan definitely added to that. We probably won't see Atlas for a while as I'm sure he has plenty to think about. Putting the two together, they're incredibly similar with the pallets and patterns chosen. If Taryn and Atlas are two separate, parallel lines, Rowan and Atlas are two people sitting on the opposite side of the same line.

I really hate being in the Hellaverse Fandom sometimes

it’s basically just finding new ways to hate on the show and finding new ways to cancel Vivsepop. it’s exhausting when every fandom interaction is basically walking into a room of horse manure on a 104 degree fahrenheit humid day with a blazing sun at noon.

“oh noooooo everything is red and everyone wears bows and suits” damn how dare a show have a mostly monochromatic color pallete and have characters wear similar attire that was popular across the many time periods they lived in. god forbid the person who created the show make it the way she envisioned it to be (also not to be that guy but i counted 39 characters from the helleverse and only 11 actually had bows on their designs, 8 of which being hazbin hotel characters and 3 being helluva boss characters. do with that info what you will)

“She thinks cursing is good humor!” Viv as been open about the fact that the humor in the show is inspired by seth roland (can’t spell) and Brandon Rogers also does a lot of the jokes on the show, but all talk can focus on is viv and god forbid she try the same humor others have

“oh nooooo, female characters are badly written” are they badly written or are they side characters? are they badly written or is the show you’re watching confirmed to be focusing more on male characters than female characters? hell, hazbin hotel is a female centered show and people tend to focus more on the guys than the gals. idk about yall but i find a lot of the female characters to be written quite well for the time they have in the show i.e verosika mayday, sallie mae, vaggie, carmilla carmine, charlie, lute, velvette, etc.

“vivsepop is racist!” shss literally a woman of color, works with multiple POC, and has multiple characters of color including but not limited to: vaggie, alastor (white passing probably for plot reasons), carmilla and her daughters, velvette, sera, emily, barbie wire, coco, tex, verosika mayday, etc.

“oh noooo vivsepop hired someone with a problematic kink!” last i checked, you can’t fire people for having a kink. Viv is not responsible for what her employees are into. it would be a lot more concerning if her interview process came with questions asking in detail what future employees are sexually into.

“Oh noooo a victim of SA and abuse sings about his abuse” god forbid a character sing about their struggles in a musical. plus it’s straight up said in the song that the character is dissociating and thinking about the life they wish he could’ve had. i’ve seen people listen to entire musicals about guys lying about how they were besties with a suicide victim to get close to his sister and i personally listened to a musical about dead kids fighting for a chance to come back to life after a gruesome roller coaster accident. One song that can be skipped isn’t that bad, i promise. as an SA victim, it’s actually pretty good and accurate to the experience without fetishizing or glorifying it. Also, y’all were perfectly fine with Addict when it came out despite it having similar themes in its music video.

“Sallie mae is a transphobic character!” the trans woman… voiced by a trans woman… written by a trans woman in a short dedicated to the character… a trans woman who was also consulted for the merch designs to make sure that the pinup and bathing suit designs didn’t fall into transphobia or fetish territory (btw no adult character is safe from the pinup or beach outfits, stop with the trans fetish accusations)

there’s so much more but i’m sleepy rn and don’t feel like typing every grievance this fandom has against the show despite actively watching and interacting with it. goddamn just leave this show and the people involved with it alone. how about instead of finding new ways to make this fandom even more of a cesspool, yall find ways to make it actually fun and safe and nontoxic again? wouldn’t that be nice???

HELLO TO THE PEOPLE, I AM DONE WITH THE DESIGNS!!.

So I did go a little bit much with some details (but I think they are fine) here they are in their full glory and I will also give a small rundown of the theme I went for each (mixed with some small headcanons of my Au, so that you guys can get to know them a bit) :)

Here is all four of them together, to let you know Nugget and Lily are together on my Au and Billy is together with Kid!. All 4 are young adults at the age of 23, all of them are in college.

With Lily, I went with a flower design, (lilies just like her name), mixed with a navy blue color that reminded me of her hoodie in Kg2. Lily in my mind also was one of the more elegant one I guess and this dress screams it to me! (Fun fact, Lily really likes the color pink but doesn't normally wear it)

With Nugget though, I went with the anubis theme as he is part egyptian in my Au (I do have another sketch of him which I made for practice, maybe I could show that in another post) with the anubis theme, of course, I went with a black and gold color pallet with some slight dark blue accents on the mask. The red lining was done for me to separate the colors.

With Billy I decided to have him in a black suit and a mask that most referenced the cthulhian type monsters from Kg1 as it would be fun to kind show case that with his white marks ( which most are covered except the ones on his neck!)

With Kid i kinda went more of a mythical being type theme and for some reason the dragon stuck to me. The dragon mask design is actually inspired by one sketch of a tattoo I was thinking of giving him (which he might still get, I just haven't finished it, maybe upload it sometime soon!)

I think they turned out pretty good ( I have never done a masquerade them on characters before btw)

I am excited to interact with all of you and i can't wait to see you, I have already seen some of the designs and they look fantastic!

Playing around with Alastor’s design a little bit. He would still wear most of the same outfit he wore back then, don't fix what's not broken, but with an added suit jacket that's a bit too big for him. I need to make a bit of to at some point, but after his break up he draws on a pencil mustache to add on to his emphasis of having a new appearance while still staying in his time.

A post depression mustache if you will.

As for some of his creepy aspects I'm cutting out the voodoo elements of his character, and instead using the uncanny and analog horror elements instead (I am a simple creature).

I need to actually remake the color pallets for him and old Vox, but essentially they both start off as black and white or with grey like colors, and gain new ones after they split up. Vox becomes more saturated and Alastor becomes sepiatone, as while it's more colorful it's still is reminiscent of the past.

Now time for some of the silly rivalry bits:

I’d image they would have casual debates on the radio and tv that would soon devolve into insults and eventually nothing but 30/50s slang and Creole French that would last for hours.

I need to finish writing this bit, but basically Charlie sees it as a good idea to go on Vox’s talk show to promote the hotel and herself. There’s some lil rivalry moments between Vox and Al, but ultimately Vox doesn’t fully let his grudges get in the way of hosting a good show.

Even though they mutually broke up they still each regret ending the relationship, and as such covey their loneliness in their respective mediums. Vox making sad, gay movies and being so worn out after that when he watches them he doesn’t even know what he made.

And Alastor having a late night audio story about a turtle and a hare going on adventures. There are times where he’ll just start describing crushing regret and isolation, and he’ll realize that he may have gone a bit far and try to steer it towards more of a happy ending with Vox listening in on all of it.

Something something relationship meme with a sketch I’ll probably never finish. Also surprising, but also not that surprising, to me that in "Stayed Gone" they didn't go with the obvious joke on what to call his late night talk show.

The grrls r fighting!! But for real this time.

Been playing with the idea of Vox turning into pure energy when he's overly stressed, or just becoming a weird robot creature as form he can take as an overlord. It's probably going to result in a lot of sketches where I 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 won't use Videodrome as inspiration (lie).

At some point I need to get a good animation program and just start making a bunch of animatics or animations cause I have so many song inspirations for these two.

Specifically one that I want to make a whole animation for is “(They Long to Be) Close to You.” Basically it’s just going to be them fighting interspersed with moments of them waltzing together. I think you can probably parse out the metaphors and connections I'm going for here.

Also me and a friend were talking about song inspirations and after I continually listened, watched, and worked (at least for me) on Hadestown we just replaced Hades with Vox in some of the songs.

One stanza that I need to make an animatic for is in Chant Reprise, specifically 2:33-3:18 with the “I conduct the electric city” line.

This is going to become a bit of promotion for the show cause I love it so much. Probably my favorite musical ever! Also highly recommend listening to this version of "Chant," cause there’s a verse for Persephone and Eurydice that provide some cool reflections that reflect the original “Chant” in their verses.

There’s no direct references to any of the other characters, although you can add your own interpretations.

On that note here’s another song that reflects them. “How Long?” mainly with the “your pity won’t fit in my bed” lines, and when Hades and Persephone are actually singing to each other turning it into being about their relationship instead of the fates of Orpheus and Eurydice.

trying to mess around with his masquerade outfit a bit... I'm going in a different direction with it? going with a dress instead I think. I was hesitant to because I didn't want him to get misgendered by anyone but also. if they're wrong they're wrong 🤷‍♂️ I'll just do what I want. got a few color pallets

I think a big hangup has been "I want the outfit to represent his patron" and it doesn't necessarily have to 100%. look at Muriel's suit or Portia's dress alone and tell me it gives "bear" or "cat" without the mask. it's not that big of a deal. with that said I do wanna incorporate more symbolism because I find it satisfying to put thought into it but for right now this is a step in the right direction

I like you *Peacocks your Lucifer*

So, I just want to say that this is all fun and games, and nothing should be taken to heart. I do not mean to imply that I can somehow make a better version of Lucifer, or the over all show, this is just a fun thing for me to do! Now that that’s out the way, I have something I need to confess. I did not like Lucifer’s design.

I mean, I guess it was, fine? Like the ringmaster vibe was a cool idea, but it was kind of overshadowed by the fact that most of the things that would signify that was shared by a lot of other characters (ahem, bow ties, suits, etc) I saw somewhere that Lucifer (and by proxy, Charlie) was based off a doll/goat, but again. I don’t really see it. So… redesign!

I decided to trash the goat theme, because as far as I’m aware that’s more related to Satan. Sometimes Lucifer & Satan are interchangeable, but that doesn’t seem to be the case in HH. Instead, I went with a peacock as my main inspo, because they are associated with pride and royalty a lot of the time. I tried to base the outfit off of a ringleader, though I’m not sure if its obvious enough.

I also decided to make two separate color pallets, one that matches Hazbins color scheme (Mainly warm colors, not a lot of bright reds though, there is enough of that in the show) and another that I would use if I made my own universe with this character, you can see it here:

I decided on purple for the clothes, because it often signified royalty, since it was considered an expensive color way back when. I used blues and greens for the 'feathers' and mask so that it reflected more peacock traits.

I think Lucifer has a lor of wasted potential, it said that Charlie has daddy issues, but Lucifer seems nothing but supportive, if a bit distant. He tries his best to accommodate his daughters dreams and doesn't strike me as a 'bad' dad, or one that could cause daddy issues.

I think it would be better if he was shown to be outright hostile to the idea of the hotel, and redemption as a whole. He could be against it because it would mean he was wrong.

In a lot of versions of the Eden story, or at least the one I was taught, Lucifer tempted Eve & Adam with the apple to prove that humans where flawed, and beneath the angels since God had claimed them to be made in their image. Lucifer was prideful in his place as 'the best' and refused to change his views.

This could be a great arc for him in the show about redemption. He could come in saying that humans would never change, being too prideful and stubborn in his actions, only for Charlie to convince him otherwise over time, simultaneously showing the sinners progress and changing her fathers mind. Then, he could learn that being wrong, and admitting to mistakes isn't a bad thing. That he too was flawed, and that didn't make him lesser.

Or something idk. It was a fun challenge to redesign Lucifer, and I just wish that there was more time taken to show personal development in the cast, instead of the time skip. Uhhh, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk lol.

EDIT! forgot to add, but Lucifer is meant to look more ‘angelic’, because he believes he didn’t deserve to be kicked out of heaven, because he ‘did nothing wrong’. In fact, in his eyes, he was right. Adam & Eve were easily seduced to eat the apple, so they obviously aren’t made as the perfect reflection of God. He doesnt think that he did something wrong.

how do u choose ur color palletes?

As for how I choose my color palette, I basically just pick colors I like based on my mood at the time. If the colors end up being too all over the place, I copy and paste the colored layers, use a gradient map to create a mood I like, and adjust the colors using layer effects. The type of layer effect I use depends on the atmosphere or mood I want to create, but I think 'Soft Light' is what I use the most. After that, I add more colors I like and adjust them to suit my preferences.
