applied mindfulness
mindfulness as a concept is something easily graspable - observe, instead of reacting. but applying observation practically is another beast entirely.
a good first step to living more mindfully is through journaling. and yes, you’re busy and it’s way too much to sit down and write a novella when you wake up or before you go to sleep.
start slow. start small. write one sentence down at the end of your day, even if that sentence is something along the lines of “fuck this shit.”
i highly encourage everyone participating to get a journal and follow along. to assist you in kickstarting your mindfulness practice, I’ll be publishing writing prompts each day. they’ll be linked in the navigation for easy browsing and pick-and-choosing.
don’t be discouraged if it takes time to develop this habit - creativity and mindfulness are both muscles to stretch, strengthen, and retain. start once a week if every day is too much. build it up!
