♡ if u dont already, make sure to allocate time to get ready because getting ready sets the pace for the day and when u look glamorous you feel glamorous so its a rly amazing way to start ur day
hot tip 🗒️ - make a get ready playlist that makes u feel confident and feed ur self confidence and self concept. some songs that are on my dolling up playlist are "never lose me" by flo milli, "sweetener" by ariana grande and "promiscuous" by nelly furtado
♡ put some time aside to be active in the morning as a way to get ur blood flowing and just wake u up in general + you'll feel 10x more productive and it also sets the tone for ur day
♡ do something for ur wellness, whether thats simply lemon water or taking some supplements, just do something good for ur body
♡ cartoons/ur favorite show while u enjoy breakfast
♡ go on a hot girl walk and listen to some affirmation tapes or some music and just think in ur favor

I've been watching a lot of productivity videos lately as in trying to be more productive with my time. Most of them have been really interesting and helped a lot.
But there's a whole area of morning routine videos where I swear they don't have real jobs because their routine is like this:
6am wake up, do 10mins of journalling
6:10am yoga on the balcony/outside
6:30am cold shower, beauty regime
7am make coffee with a coffee machine with more features than the lunar rocket
7:15am ridiculously healthy breakfast
8am do emails
Whereas mine is:
6am alarm goes off. Have existential crisis for fifteen minutes
6:15am undignified flop out of bed. Brush teeth, sunscreen, deodorant. Get confused by socks.
6:30am feed guinea pigs, take meds. 10mins of existential crisis.
7am rush out of door in a panic only to discover train is late/cancelled.
What do these people do which makes them morning people? When do they have their existential crises?

Ok, this got me thinking a little and it's become a morning routine description, oops? xD Alyra on top and the rest under the cut!
(hi, if you're reading, feel free to ask me about my blorbos! :3)
Alyra: Grabs the knife under her pillow better. Just to be sure, she checks she's alone in the room. She found out three assassins this way, don't blame her. She gets up, get dressed, has a quick breakfast up to her room as she reads her mail and reports. Cleaning up takes longer, she has a very precise routine (she's the one that in a modern AU will go fully Korean routine), carefully braids her hair so by the time she walks out she's in pristine condition. If she's with Morrigan, the first thing in the morning is greeting Kieran and teach him to wield a dagger. Mages can use some self-defense too, keep that dagger straight, you don't want to cut yourself. (it's a real dagger? Yes. He'll pay more attention like this). If she's with Alistair, the ritual includes waking him up when she's done with her hair. "You can't braid anyway, why would I wake you up sooner?" "You're so romantic, my heart is melting." "Don't let it trickle on the carpet, please."
Raina: Rolls over, groans loudly, begs Beowoof to let her sleep and to go to her brother (but scratches his ears anyway because he is a good boi). When said brother arrives and free her from the dog, she falls back asleep for some times more, if she's not particularly stressed or anxious. Stays in bed anyway. When she wakes up for real, it's a kiss to Merrill and one to Bela, and then she goes kick Fenris out of bed (he's very happy about it, yes, only besties threaten each other of very painful deaths. "Yes yes you can take my uterus first, please do if it'll free me of periods. Here, I'll raise my shirt for you, suit yourself.") and get some exercise together. He was the one to train her with some better form with her daggers, they kept the habit. By the time Garrett is back, everyone is ready for breakfast.
Garrett: Stretches and smiles to the new day, kisses Fenris good morning, dresses, retrieves Beowoof from Raina's room. Goes jogging as he walks the dog, enjoys the city in the hours of dawn when just the bakers and fishermen are up and about. He won't really miss Kirkwall, but he will remember fondly running around with the dog, greeted by the early workers and enjoying the sky painting in nice colours, enjoying the quiet and be able to think better than in the house. Plays some with the dog, buys some baked goods for everyone and then heads back home for breakfast.
Aisling: Rolls over and cuddles the person she sleeps with as she rests for 5 minutes more. When she's alone she fights her maid, Frida, that gets her out of bed each morning and scolds her because she stayed awake to the wee hours again and she is surly and groggy now and she left her room a mess. The scolding task was officially left to Cullen with a relieved sigh when he moved over to her room. A pity he sleeps as little as her, so poor Frida now has to wake up TWO people who slept to little and are groggy. After then it's breakfast time. Post Trespasser, she'll walk the dogs and go feed the animals as Cullen cooks breakfast for them.
Radha: She wakes up naturally each morning at the same hour. Doesn't stand too long in bed and gets up. She's very grumpy when she's just awake, and the first thing is always going to get some tea to wake up, which she sips while reading. After she has her tea, she is functional and can be spoken to and can properly start with her morning activities. The clan knows she's even less talkative in the morning, she makes herself scarce in Skyhold until she's functional. Solas learnt quickly that every greeting before tea is only met with a "No." (he finds her cute).
Max: Switches off her alarm clock, wakes Liara up if she's there with a horribly cheesy pet name. She uses a new one each day. Feed the fishes and hope they won't die, feed the hamster and then some light exercise, a shower, get dressed and fix her make-up. Then she goes to the kitchen to brew some coffee herself because nobody is allowed to touch her moka pot anymore after Gardner washed it with soap, and coffee is the only one thing her petty-italian gene will run strong about (she eats pineapple on pizza and breaks the spaghetti, would live on junk food and fizzy drinks, but coffee? Espresso or death). A cup of coffee, some biscuits as she reads the news, and she's good to go to.

A List of Ways to NOT Avoid Journaling in the Morning
If you are avoiding writing because you have a new person sleeping over at your place, get out of bed, grab your notebook, and go into the kitchen. Make some coffee and write while doing it. Three pages of single-spaced writing takes about twenty minutes. When you return, two coffees in hand, they will be none the wiser and impressed that you were so thoughtful! GO, YOU!
If you are avoiding journaling because you are sleeping over at a new person��s place, that is stupid. Sorry, but it is. Tell them you have Pilates, spinning, or brunch with your sister, and get to your notebook! Or bring it with you and tell the person the truth: You are a goddamn adult with a goddamn ritual. If the person is weirded out by this: NEXT.
If you are avoiding journaling because you DON’T HAVE TIME, none of us has time. Beyoncé has no time. She has three children but still manages to be Beyoncé. You can find the time. Set your alarm to wake up ten minutes earlier tomorrow. Try to do that for the rest of the week. Then next week set it for twenty minutes earlier. Start small. You can do it. I know you can! I forced myself, ten minutes at a time, to carve out an hour of alone time in the morning. It took me months (maybe more like a year if I’m being totally honest) to make it stick, but now I have an hour to journal, light a candle, hang out, and daydream every morning. It’s fantastic and gives me something to look forward to when my alarm goes off.
If you are avoiding journaling because it’s “dumb” or “self-centered” or because only “broken narcissists” keep journals, let me tell you this: Mark Twain kept a journal. Frida Kahlo kept a diary full of illustrations and her thoughts. Charlotte Brontë kept a diary, and Leonardo da Vinci kept around fifty notebooks. Ida B. Wells crusaded for civil rights in America and still found time to keep a diary. Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Susan Sontag—they all kept journals. Do you think you’re above Mark Twain, Frida Kahlo, Charlotte Brontë, and Leonardo da Vinci, Ida B. Wells, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, and Susan Sontag? No? Then get to writing.
If you are avoiding journaling because you think you will fail and it seems hard and you would rather not start something you might mess up, know this: It’s okay to fail. I write my pages most mornings, but I skipped them yesterday because of item two above (sleeping over at someone’s house). I forgot to bring my journal with me, and when the boy offered to take me to breakfast (yay!), I caved and went with him. And ya know what? That’s fine. I did feel a little uneasy for the rest of the day, but I understood why. When I opened my nightstand this morning and saw my new journal, light blue and with navy ribbons, I felt a deep rush of happiness. My notebook waits for me.

After someone asked me how my morning was going, I thought I’d give some tips on how to make mornings better. Better yet, how to make your day better by just starting it off with a few things. Starting your days better is a step to healing, progress, success and much more.
Will you try any of these? Which ones?
So here are 10 ways to make your mornings better:
1. Do 15 minutes of stretches.
Right when you wake up, stretch or do some yoga for 15 minutes. This will naturally stimulate your body; it’s like an espresso shot right to your brain. And unlike coffee, this natural energy boost could last you all day.
2. Stay away from electronics.
When you start your day by checking your email or social media, you’re immediately putting yourself into a state of stress. Instead of doing this, try reading a book or doing something creative.
3. Make a plan for the day.
If you didn’t write out a to-do list the night before, do it in the morning. This gives you a game plan and purpose for your day. It also helps you stay focused and productive, ensuring that you get more done.
4. Listen to upbeat music or read an inspirational book.
Start your day by listening to positive music or reading a motivational book. This sets you up to have a better day because you’ll have a positive mindset and a good attitude.
5. Eat a healthy breakfast.
I know you’ve heard this before, but breakfast is very important. Ever since I started eating a healthy breakfast every morning, I’ve found that I have more energy, I’m more productive, and I can focus better. Some people just can’t seem to stomach food first thing in the morning, though. If that’s you, at least keep a quick (and healthy) snack with you for when you do get hungry.
6. Do something that makes you happy.
Give yourself a little treat or do something that makes you happy. This will be different for everyone. Maybe you want to go get a coffee from your favorite coffee shop, maybe you want to write in your journal, maybe you want to do a workout. Just be sure to give yourself a little “me-time” and do something that you enjoy.
7. Drink some water.
After you’ve been sleeping for 8 hours, you usually wake up feeling dehydrated. So drink a large glass of water in the morning to re-hydrate yourself and help yourself feel more awake and energized. Putting lemon in the water is an added bonus. Lemon helps boost your immune system, aids in your digestion, makes you feel energized, and more.
8. Get ready, even if you’re just sitting at home.
Unless you want to have a lazy day (which is okay sometimes!) take the time to get ready for your day. Even if you’re not doing anything, getting dressed and ready will help you feel more “put together” which can make you feel more energized and lead to a way more productive and enjoyable day.
9. Wake up at the same time.
I know you may want to sleep in sometimes, but you should really try to wake up at the same time every day. This helps put your body on a schedule, which will make waking up easier and easier for you. If you stick to this schedule, you might even eventually be able to wake up without an alarm.
10. Tackle your hardest to-do first.
When you’re ready to start working, tackle your hardest to-do list task first. This helps you have a better day because you know you’ve accomplished at least one big thing. Doing this can also help you be more productive because it might motivate you to tackle the rest of your to-do list as well.
