got my ears pierced today and instantly regretted it. i don’t like them and they make me dysphoric but i’ve already got several pairs of earrings as a gift from my mom so i can’t exactly try to close them asap. which sucks because apparently the longer they’re open the less chance there is of them closing.
i guess the takeaway is: GO WITH YOUR GUT. i tried to back out at the last second because i had a really bad feeling about the piercings and i was right
Hey kiddo,
I'm guessing from the way this is phrased that you are transmasc? If I am incorrect, then I apologise and feel free to let me know.
People of all genders can have their ears pierced! I even know a few cis guys with piercings, and they look hella masc. If you want tips to present more masc with piercings though, I recommend round studs or those little thick loop ones. I personally think black earrings look super masc, but honestly it's completely up to you as guys wear gold and silver too.
As for healing, after they've healed properly they won't close but sometimes they do if it's been less than a year.
Honestly, I think people look really cool with piercings and it's a great way to add to your personal style. Hope this helps <3
Made this a while ago and never posted it online. There is a lot that could be said about the topic but the fury and pain make it hard to really express anything beyond well...the urge to protect our own.
There’s a far right organization masquerading as a health organization called the American College of Pediatricians. The page is horrifying. There’s a section dedicated to parents trying to force their kids to be cis. The section for teens is pure scaremongering. I’m not even getting into the part for doctors. The purpose of this is to ruin the lives of trans youth and, directly or indirectly, end those lives.
I will emphasize, I would not be here if this existed when I was outed.
The teens section also states you will be in lifelong pain after transition, this is not true. You will be happier as you. I can attest, after I accepted I was non-binary I was happier than I was before.
Erin Reed made a video on this which I highly recommend you watch, it goes a bit further into what this is. This organization is promoting and enabling violence, sentencing transgender children everywhere this website is used to death or a life that is not truly living. Act like this is the execution device it is.
Hi. You. Yes you reading this. I'm proud of you. You haven't done anything wrong. You can let go of the thing you're worried about. You can breathe and take a break. You can rest. Love you <3
hiii! I wanted to share a really good thing that happened yesterday and I didn’t have anyone else to tell so I hope you enjoy hearing about positive trans experiences :D
my birthday was yesterday and after almost a whole day of being “the birthday girl” and growing into a fine young “woman” I got a text from one of my friends who know. They said “How is the birthday boy doing?” I don’t know how they knew I needed to hear that but needless to say I much appreciated it and started crying bc I realized that it was the first time I’d been called that
Anyway this all goes to say that you will get there!
Someday you will be able to safely be out and you will find those friends who care how you are doing on your birthday 🥳
Hey my boy!
Firstly, happy late birthday :)
I love positive experiences, so your experience is totally welcome here. It seems that you have some awesome friends, who see you as a boy which is great. And you are completely right when you say that it gets better, because it does and some day we can all be out and proud.
“Oklahoma has released one of the worst anti-transgender bills I have seen in any state legislature yet. This bill, HB1011, would make it a felony for a doctor to provide gender affirming care for transgender patients up to the age of 21 years old. Not only would this bill forcibly medically detransition transgender youth, but it targets transgender adults as well. We are witnessing the Overton window on gender affirming care move in real time - whereas just a few years ago, all of the transgender bills were about bathrooms and sports, now they have become increasingly eliminationist in attempting to forcibly detransition all transgender people.” - via ErinInTheMorn
The reason calling women “females” isnt okay is the same reason calling black people “blacks” or trans people “transgenders” isn’t okay.
Notice how the missing word is “people”. When you take off that word and change the term from a noun to an adjective, you strip the humanity from the term.
“Female” isn’t a noun, just like “black” and “transgender” aren’t nouns. Female what? Female human? Female frog? It could be anything.
You aren’t calling women “females” because it’s sCiEnTiFiCaLLy aCuRaTe. You just don’t see them as people whose humanity is worth acknowledging.
But I know this little grammar lesson will probably go right over the heads of anyone it’s actually targeted at - seeing as y’all can’t grasp the concept of pronouns I don’t really expect you to understand adjectives.
