A few days ago I woke up bleary eyed, sat down at my computer, and spat this out.

Mostly just a bit of goofy sketching but here's magical boy (magical man?) submas

I'm not gonna flesh this out a whole bunch since there's not much I can really do with it, but some rough notes:

Both of them have two soul stones, one in the hat and one in the staff. In their base uniform, the staff's stone is on the back of their gloves, separating when activated

They're only able to activate their abilities when they're with each other. Though they can both separately fight and return to normal, they need each other to begin the reaction and use their powers. Should one of them go missing, the other will not be able to use their abilities

The stone can be removed from the staff, returning to the hand if it is. The purpose of doing this is to replace it with a pokeball, allowing the staff to channel the pokemon's moves along with its standard attacks (electricity for Emmet, fire for Ingo)

Ingo and Emmet can trade (or steal) clothes mid transformation, switching pieces or entire uniforms. Emmet will typically borrow Ingo's darker gloves and boots if he expects to get particularly violent in battle, while Ingo usually takes Emmet's white accessories since he finds them more classy than his full black uniform

They are able to float in their magical forms, mostly using the levitation to run loops around their opponents and pressure them from all sides

The only opponent is literally Team Plasma, this power is reserved solely for beating grunts, sages, or Ghetsis should they ever cross paths (technically the code is to defend the world from evil but for any other issue they'll either settle it normally or with pokemon battling)

i think it's funny that bruce presumably has covered up at least two people damian killed (spook and nobody) in main continuity and probably did it in the the boy wonder continuity too with the random thief bruce is like i'm sorry but we are NOT sending him to baby jail it was just a little mistake. he already looked incredibly sad when i wasn't proud of him for the murder is this not punishment enough?

What's so interesting to me about Kelvin is that, yes, he is very self-absorbed and attention-seeking. I mean, season one established that he has/had a full blown god complex comparing himself to Jesus. But he makes that comparison in part because he wants to do good and be Christ-like. Out of his family, he is probably the most altruistic and compassionate, and it's a fascinating dichotomy.

Making your own version of the Bible and putting your name on it is extremely egotistical, and he has very personal motivations of wanting acceptance from the public and from his family. He's quite literally rewriting his own faith to fit his view of the world, rejecting anything that doesn't serve him. He's also very clearly doing this for all of the people who have felt ostracized by their faith. He's creating a safe space for himself, but it's equally as important to him that he's doing this for other people. He's accepting people that would be turned away from so many other communities, religious or not.

It's so interesting to see the contrast within the Gemstones and Evangelicals as a whole where they bend their religion to themselves. What we typically see is the Gemstones being ignorant/ambivalent of scripture that dictates humility, modesty, forgiveness, etc. Kelvin is actively denying the parts of his faith that are used to harm him and others, and we see that road to unlearning some of his prejudice in season 3 especially.

Kelvin's story is so much about how finding inner peace and embracing others are intertwined paths. His entire relationship with Keefe is Kelvin continuing to make the choice to challenge and improve himself in order to help Keefe. The whole reason he came out and became successful with Prism was BECAUSE of Keefe! Keefe is his follower, Keefe's life unquestionably improved when he met Kelvin, but he's also giving Kelvin strength to live more earnestly in turn.

I'm really excited to see where the rest of the season goes with Kelvin's journey, and I'm hoping that we see Prism become a stronger part of the church/a bigger community as Kelvin likely will become more confident with being himself in the public eye.

The entire fandom probably agrees that Aizawas logical ruse thing on the first day of school was some first class contrived BS that only made him seem erratic and untrustworthy

But I was just thinking about it and. there's no way he was actually lying here

Because later he tells Izuku straight to his face that he has zero potential and isn't going to make it as a hero. Bakugou even lampshades that he is going to be expelled. Aizawa tells him this before he even has a chance to use his quirk and injure himself, confirming that he'd already made up his mind before the exercise even started

When Izuku shows that he can use his quirk without completely incapacitating himself, Aizawa is visibly surprised and suddenly, even though there's a clear last place, the threat of expelling a student is off the table

Honestly the panels are vague enough that I have no idea whether this is the intended read, but i could totally see him setting up the situation to put Izuku on display as a bad example and then dramatically expel him. It's a similarly asshole - y approach but at least he's not randomly lying to the kids for shits and giggles
