#TRYING TO INTIMIDATE COLIN
plumeriacosmos · 1 month
Text
Kinda want a Polin AU where Finch and Dankworth thinks it is now their duty to be the men in Penelope’s life, and becomes overprotective brothers to Pen, so they try to intimidate Colin and “assess” him, but like Colin, who grew up with two insufferable older brothers, only raises an eyebrow with an amused smile. He’s mildly intimidated but like, this is also quite funny

When the others inevitably find out about the warped dynamic between Tim and Bruce they decide to completely take advantage of it and tell Tim that they’re planning on going out
And tim sees them as his siblings or distant relatives so he doesn’t really think that he needs to give them permission or that he has any authority over them so he just nods and tells them to be safe
When they get caught by Bruce they just immediately throw Tim under the bus by saying that he said they could go and Tim is realizing that his siblings are exploiting the loophole that is Tim and must work his way out of this blunder
Alright. Brilliant. However, here's how I'm imaging the scene to play out:
~~~
Damian has been glaring at Tim for the last thirteen minutes. Tim has been steadfast in ignoring whatever weird intimidation technique the kid is trying to pull with him. As he's taken to most of the batkids, he sticks to the motto, "it's not my business until it is."
The best part about that motto is how vague it is so Tim can shape it to whatever aim he pleases. It works for him, and it works against everyone else (unless it's Duke. The teen ruthlessly utilizes the loophole of making whatever situation he needs Tim for into Tim's problem).
Regardless, Tim has been clacking away at Neon Knights paperwork while Damian stares at Tim without blinking. An idle thought of Tim's almost makes him navigate to LoA servers to check their training programs (thirteen whole minutes without blinking???), but his willpower is strong enough to ignore it.
"Timothy."
Tim immediately closes his laptop and whips around to Damian.
Did the little gremlin actually refer to Tim by his first name?
Tim's fingers twitch with the urge to perform an injury check on the kid, but he refrains. Damian seems fine.
Well... besides the unblinking stare for thirteen minutes and the first name. Maybe Tim should perform tha-
"Colin and I would like to go to the zoo on Saturday, Timothy."
Tim's thoughts snap back to present at the confusing series of events that are playing out. He clocks the kid's clenched teeth, his hesitancy to even utter any words, the delayed conversation, the first name usage, the way Damian's eyes betray irritation and anticipation, his strict posture, and the way Damian's hands are clasped behind his back. It's a confusing set of clues laid out before Tim, and he can only come to one conclusion.
Damian is reaching out and offering an olive branch. He's offering random information in his socially stunted way of bonding.
Tim allows a soft smile to appear on his face as he nods. "Are there any animals in particular you want to see?"
Damian's eyebrow furrow, but he does answer the question. "Richard has prattled on about the elegance of elephants. Colin is partial to the tigers."
While that didn't necessarily answer the question, Tim offers him a nod. "I particularly enjoy their bird enclosures. They allow you to walk inside some of them as they fly around you."
Damian's eyes gain a concerning gleam to them, but Tim just hopes this bonding exercise brings them closer together. It's been hectic in the Manor ever since the other Bats found out about the true nature of his relationship with Bruce. It's not as huge of a deal as they seem to be making of it.
Tim grabs his laptop, places it on his lap, and pries it open again. "I hope you guys have fun at the zoo."
By the soft and intentional putter of feet, Tim can hear Damian walking away. "Thank you, Timothy."
"You're welcome, Dames."
Tim finds out Saturday night, when the batcave is filled with 3 tigers, 6 elephants, and so many birds, what Damian actual meant by him going to the zoo. Bruce is furious, several of the Batkids are laughing, and Tim is quietly hiding his amusement as well.
Or he was until Damian explained that Tim had given him permission to do it and even told him to grab all the birds.
Its spooky season!!! Any chance for a continuation of the gryfindoor draco?
a continuation of 1 2 3 4
Colin Creevey is an ickle firstie and extremely annoying - no matter what Harry says, he couldn't have been that bad as a first year - and Draco feels sick to his stomach thinking of him lying petrified in the hospital wing.
Of course his house is being targeted. Of course they went for a muggleborn, of course whoever is doing this went after an eleven year old muggleborn who hadn't the first clue on how to defend himself against whatever the hell this asshole thinks he's doing -
"Calm down," Harry says, his grip on his shoulder just a shade away from painful.
"I am calm!" he shouts.
Calmly.
Neville pats his back, apparently less interested in leaving finger shaped bruises on him than Harry is. "It's okay, he's going to be fine."
"He will," Draco says darkly. "And what about the next victim? I am done. Hogwarts doesn't need another student death ruining it's reputation."
"What are you planning to do?" Ron asks, but he sounds more curious than derisive.
"Please let it not be something stupid," Hermione says, the first time she's spoken since they've gathered together.
Draco doesn't blame her. If Gryffindor muggleborns are the targets, she's next on the list, regardless of her friendship with him and Neville. Maybe even because of it. Certain people, like idiotic teenagers emulating Voldemort, consider it a sign of muggleborns not knowing their place when they make connections above their assigned station.
"I'm writing my father," he says. "Kids are in danger, and Dumbledore clearly has no idea how to stop it. So I'm going to do what none of the mugglborns' parents know to do or even can do."
Hermione and Harry just look confused, which is to be expected, but he expected better of Neville. Ron, depressingly, just raises an eyebrow. "You want to get aurors involved?"
"They won't interfere in Hogwarts unless they're requested, Dumbledore's influence and reputation gets in the way. No muggle would know that, so I'm going to have my father push it through instead."
"Dumbledore could still block it," Neville says slowly.
Draco doesn't like to think of himself as having a temper. He decides to blame it on the influence of his house. "Then he should be thrown out of the school! Children are in danger, someone is walking around the halls trying to kill us, the aurors should already be handling it!"
Ron grins at him. "I'll talk to my father too. He might not have the scary reputation of yours, but he is a department head, and he knows a lot of the aurors. Anyone your father can't bribe or intimidate, my father can likely bring around."
Draco looks at him in surprise, but just inclines his head. Ron's probably right - his parents fought in the war, just like his father did, only on the opposite side. They probably do have connections to the entire department between them.
His dad will likely be put in a mood with having to work with a Weasley, but Draco's already gotten over it himself so it's time for his father to do the same.
thinking about Colin Provolone's relationship with his father, about how Colin had to do everything Aaron wanted him to do, and how Colin described him as horrible and a piece of shit, and how Colin hated him so much he went to kill him on sight
...and about how Colin was accommodating and gracious when Cleva wanted to hit and intimidate someone simply because it would make her feel better to take her frustration out on someone and make them fearful, someone who was nearly Colin
...and about how Colin always phrased advice and counsel to Deli in a way that was highly aware of Deli's pride and ego and was generally careful to avoid suggesting that Deli was wrong or made a mistake or had any personal shortcomings
...and about how Colin, no longer fearfully protective of his life, watched Deli try to intimidate him with an unimpressed boredom, as if it's all familiar and old
...and about how Colin learning his father belonged to this group that manipulates and forces others into doing what they want, seeing him oversee the fearful Saprophians as they work, "seeing him in this space, wielding that kind of power over people again, just fills him with rage"
...and about how his father said "You were always a problem" as he threw a knife at Colin
...and about how his father said "And you've made us proud" when that "us" forced Colin to murder and said "I'm still proud" as his final words when Colin murders him too
...and about how Colin's most notable and useful skills—narratively and mechanically, when it comes to mechanics it is literally what he was built to do—are in arms, in violence
Fire And Flame - Anthony Bridgerton
Word count: 1716
Summary: New arrivals always cause a fuss, but when you catch the attention of rather three brothers, it is not, right?
Tumblr media
The air was thick with anticipation as if the very fabric of Bridgerton society was waiting with bated breath for the moment your carriage would roll up to the estate.
 Even the servants, usually so reserved and proper, couldn't help but whisper amongst themselves about the latest gossip regarding your impending arrival.
You knew why they were all so interested, of course. After all, you were Daphne's well-known friend, and everyone in the ton was desperate to catch a glimpse of the new girl on at the ton.
 Little did they know that you had no intention of becoming another pawn in their social games.
As your carriage finally came to a stop, you took a deep breath and smoothed down your dress, trying to steady your nerves.
You hadn't expected the butterflies to be this bad, but then again, this wasn't just any ball.
This was the first event since the news of Daphne's betrothal to Simon had spread like wildfire through the ton.
 Everyone would be watching you, waiting to see how you interacted with the Bridgerton brothers, speculating about who among them might have a chance with you.
You took one last look around the carriage before opening the door and stepping out, your heels sinking into the soft grass of the estate.
 The sound of a violin drifted through the air, accompanied by the gentle hum of conversation from the guests.
The setting sun cast a warm glow over the lawn, making it seem as if the entire world was bathed in gold.
 And there they were, the Bridgerton brothers, standing at the top of the stairs, their eyes locked on you, as you made your way up the steps.
Anthony, the eldest, towered over his brothers, his expression unreadable.
Beside him, Benedict looked nervous and shy, his hands fidgeting with his cufflinks.
And then there was Colin, the youngest, who looked as if he'd just been caught stealing sweets from the pantry.
 He gave you a crooked grin and winked, making you feel a little more at ease.
As you reached the top of the stairs, your heart raced as you took in the scene before you, hundreds of people dressed in their finest, all of them watching you with eager eyes.
You forced yourself to smile, to stand tall and confident despite the trembling in your legs.
 This was your first step into the world of the Bridgertons, and you refused to let anyone intimidate you.
 As the violinist began to play a waltz, Anthony stepped forward, his hand extended toward you.
 "Shall we?" he asked, his voice smooth as silk.
You hesitated for a moment, glancing around the lawn before finally meeting his gaze.
 "Yes," you said, placing your hand in his. "Let's dance."
As you began to move across the dance floor, Anthony's strong arms wrapped around you, pulling you close.
You could feel his heart racing beneath his vest, could see the determination in his eyes.
He was going to win this, you realized. He was going to make you his wife.
And whether you wanted it or not, whether you could resist him or not, you knew that this dance, this night, was only the beginning of a journey that neither of you could escape from.
Benedict and Colin watched us from the sidelines, their expressions a mix of envy and amusement.
They knew as well as anyone that their father's expectations were weighing heavily upon them, but they also knew that they couldn't let it consume them entirely.
They were still young, after all, and had their whole lives ahead of them.
 As the night wore on, you found youself growing more and more fond of them both, despite the constant competition between them.
The music shifted from waltz to a lively reel, and before you knew it, Colin had swept you off your feet, his laughter filling the air.
He spun you around and around, your skirts fluttering like wings, your heart racing with the thrill of it all.
For a moment, you forget about Anthony and the pressures of the ton, and you let yourself simply enjoy the night, the music, and the company of your new friends.
But as the evening progressed, you couldn't help but notice the way Anthony's gaze followed you, the way he seemed to be everywhere you went.
 It was as if he was willing you to give in to him, to admit that he was the one you wanted.
And despite your best efforts to resist, you found yourself growing more and more aware of the connection between you both, the chemistry that sizzled whenever you were in the same room.
Finally, as the last rays of sunlight disappeared beyond the horizon, the music faded away, and the guests began to file out of the ballroom, you knew that the time had come to make a decision.
Anthony was still watching you, his eyes burning into yours, daring you to say no.
And as much as you wanted to deny it, to hold out hope for something more, something different, you knew deep down that he was the only one who could make you truly happy.
So, with a sigh and a shaky breath, you turned to face him, ready to give him your answer.
He took a step forward, his expression unreadable as he waited for you to speak.
 The air between the both of you crackled with tension, and you could feel the weight of the world on your shoulders.
"Anthony," you began, your voice barely audible over the sound of your breathing.
"I cannot deny that I'm drawn to you, that there is a connection between us. But I must ask you, can you promise me that our marriage will be different? That you will let me be myself, and not just some possession to be won?"
For a moment, his expression softened, and you dared to hope that he understood what you were saying.
 But then the familiar determination returned, and he nodded solemnly.
"Yes," he said, his voice firm.
 "I can promise you that our marriage will be different. I will love you, cherish you, and respect your independence. You will always be my equal, and together, we will build a life filled with love and happiness."
His words washed over you like a warm summer breeze, and for a fleeting moment, you allowed yourself to believe that perhaps, just perhaps, he was telling the truth.
Perhaps there was a way for you two to navigate the waters of the ton together, as partners.
And so, with a shaky breath and a fluttering heart, you reached out and took his hand, feeling the warmth of his skin against yours.
 "Then I accept," you whispered, your voice barely audible even to yourself. "I will marry you, Anthony."
As your hands clasped together, a spark seemed to ignite between both of you and for a moment, it felt as if the entire world had disappeared, leaving only the two of you standing there in the center of the empty ballroom.
He leaned in, his lips mere inches from yours, and you could feel the anticipation building within you, the desire to feel his touch, to know what it would be like to be his wife.
But just as you were about to close the distance between you both, he pulled away, stepping back to look at you once more. His expression had grown solemn, almost somber.
"There is one more thing I must ask of you," he said quietly.
 "Will you allow me to court you properly? To show you the sort of man I am, and the sort of life we could have together?"
You thought for a moment, considering his words. It was more than you had asked for, more than you had dared to hope for.
And as you looked into his sincere eyes, you knew that you could trust him to keep his word.
"Yes," you replied, a small smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. "I would like that very much."
Anthony smiled back, and for a moment, it was as if a weight had been lifted from both of you.
 He took your hand once more, this time leading you through the empty ballroom and out into the hallway beyond.
The soft light from the sconces cast long shadows across the polished wood floor, creating an intimate, almost secretive atmosphere.
 As you walked, he began to tell you stories about his childhood, his family, and his dreams for the future.
And as you listened, you felt a connection growing between you both, a bond that transcended mere attraction or social obligation.
You continued to walk and talk for what seemed like hours, lost in your own little world, oblivious to the hustle and bustle of the party going on around you.
 And when at last you heard the butler announce that it was time for you to retire to your rooms, you knew that this was only the beginning of a journey that promised to be filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.
As you turned to face each other, your hands still clasped together, you felt a thrill of anticipation run through you, and for the first time in your life, you knew without a doubt that you were making the right decision.
"Thank you," you whispered, your eyes never leaving his. "For giving me this chance, for promising me that our marriage will be different."
He smiled down at you, his eyes soft and tender.
"Thank you, my dearest y/n," he replied, using your name for the first time. "It is my greatest honor and privilege to be your husband."
And with that, he leaned forward, his lips meeting yours in a tender, loving kiss that left you breathless and wanting more.
As you stood there, lost in the moment, you couldn't help but wonder what the future held for you both, and whether your love would be strong enough to survive the trials and tribulations that surely lay ahead.
But for now, as you stood together in the dimly lit hallway, the world seemed to fade away, and there was nothing but him and you, and the promise of a lifetime of happiness together.
More humorous takes about the Bridgerton brothers that make me laugh is that I cannot stress enough, how much I love their 'unhinged for wife' energy. Because it's just so funny
Anthony, like, you can see it, he's not even trying to hide it, he can and will be a meanie to his nemesis Kate who he also happens to love more than life itself, and to everyone if they don't fall in line. that's his whole mojo. People meet him and know at first glance that Anthony Bridgerton will not hesitate to use a gun if the occasion calls for it, because he outright intimidates people into submission. So good luck trying to mess with him or with his wife. He will end you. Have you seen him play against his wife in Pall Mall. He loves her, but he will not lose to this woman! She will one day respect him!. He's the boss of the house dammit (he's not, it's Kate, but she lets him think he is)
Colin is my favorite. because he looks nice and he looks friendly, and he would totally sink to the deepest of the low to have Penelope the moment he kissed her. This man is absolutely as unhinged as Anthony possibly more so, and he hides it so well, that everyone thinks he's the most charming brother. In fact the only person who knows how crazy Colin really is, has to be Penelope. Colin can talk his way out of anything (even a murder sentence. Do you ever wonder why nobody has ever sued Penelope for defamation? Because I sure don't), he's a people person. It's maddening, I want to convince people that Colin is the worst of the worst, and people are still like 'but he looks like such a harmless guy, just look at him eat that eclair' yeah! I know! that's how he got to Penelope! he was all cute, pretending to be nice and by the time she discovered he was the devil in disguise, he already had blackmail material on her!!. Men like Colin scare me, because I know he's bats*t but I just can't prove it.
Benedict and Gregory are just the same version of unhinged, just in a different font. Because they actually believed themselves to be the sane ones and then they met their true loves and you see that sanity? it went out the window.
Benedict used to think he was such a gentleman, who respected ladies and would never dishonor one, and guess what kind of obsessive idiot he turned into the moment Sophie said 'no' to his seduction tactics, be my mistress this, be my mistress that, Sophie ( and I) just knows Benedict's thought process alone should be landing him in jail instead of her, but he gets away with it, because apparently annoying her to death doesn't actually count as a crime. And the thing is, that she's the only one who triggers the crazy in Benedict, he's perfectly sane with everyone else, but it's her and only her who has him going all naked swimming in the lake, and obsessive paintings of her face plastered on all his sketchbooks (and his home, actually I'm pretty sure Benedict has a secret Lady in Silver shrine somewhere in My Cottage, that he took down before Sophie could find out about it) , not to mention his whole 'F society if I can't f Sophie' love at first sight excuse that somehow everyone swallows without questioning how crazy Benedict actually is.
And then he had to go teach that to Gregory! And Gregory was such a sweetheart, I actually thought he was going to make it to half of his book without going unhinged and then Lucy tells him the name of her fiancee and he goes ' wait, I know the guy, he's super gay, I can't let you marry him... ' my brother in the force what is your problem! Leave the girl alone. She's your friend, stop stalking her, she's got her own problems to deal with!! Lucy did nothing to deserve how Gregory randomly went from nice guy she was super supportive of in the courtship of her best friend, to kinda obsessive dude who won't leave her alone and wants to ruin her arranged marriage (let's ignore that said arranged marriage needed to be ruined and it might as well be by him). Guy was a green flag for Hermione but the moment he began fixating on Lucy, homegirl kinda saw the light and was like ' he's crazy, yup, totally mad.. about me sure, but this guy... He's never been told no in his life and it shows, it shows for miles'
And I just laugh so hard because people look at Anthony's fed up face and somehow think that he's the worst to fear in in the Bridgerton family. But nobody knows just how crazy his brothers are, except their wives. At this point Anthony's resting B face has to be some sort of defense mechanism because he had to grow up with Benedict and Colin while trying to raise Gregory. He may look intimidating but he's actually a reasonable man if you think about it. But his brothers, those three are just hiding their unhinged for wife energy a lot better. And you just don't want to know what kinda chaotic crazy thing they're capable of doing if they think it would impress Penelope, Sophie and Lucy
And that's the tea.
Uncovering the unreleased Far Cry 5 in-game Encyclopedia
The almost complete but unused in-game encyclopedia, reconstructed thanks to the oasisstrings file.
Please note that it’s still cut content, so some information might not be relevant anymore.
You can read the oasisstrings file here. Pictures from this encyclopedia were also extracted and posted by @xbaebsae here.
Part 2: Locations - Holland Valley
Gardenview Packing Facility
The last facility added to the Hadlers' apple empire. They shipped their apples throughout Hope County and beyond. When the cult went red state, the Hadlers stopped their legal threats and resorted to violence.
Silver Lake Trailer Park
A community of people just trying to do their best.
Gardenview Orchards
A part of Doug and Debbie Hadler’s apple empire. After their ciderworks facility, they expanded to a second, larger orchard: Gardenview Orchards. Then they opened the Gardenview Packing Facility.
Rae-Rae's Pumpkin Farm
Fiery matriarch Rae-Rae Bouthillier cares about two things: Prize-winning pumpkins and her dog Boomer.
Gardenview Ciderworks
The first major facility owned by Doug and Debbie Hadler. Ten years ago, they had a dream: an empire made of apples. They nearly achieved it too, until the cult forcibly took over everything they had worked for.
Bridge of Tears
It was called the Mišihrew Bridge when the railroad was still active. It’s now a rickety old train bridge and John Seed's ideal location to send a warning message to all sinners.
Frobisher's Cave
In 1970, a cougar, named "Frobisher" by the locals, killed the star pitcher of a rival baseball team. The Hope County Silver Foxes won that year and changed their name to the Cougars in Frobisher's honor.
Howard Cabin
Home of Niesha Howard, an extreme rock climber from Canada who moved to Montana to be a prepper.
Copperhead Rail Yard
Copperhead Rail was created in the late 1800s by Emmet Reaves. It was shut down in the early 70s and a lot got left behind. It became a place for kids to get drunk or bums to find shelter, then the cult bought it.
Lincoln Lookout Tower
It’s the last working fire tower in the county. A man who worked here promised to help the Strickland family fight off the cult if ever their farm was under attack.
Sergey’s Place
A hobo historian calls this place home. Nobody's seen him in a while though.
Boyd Residence
Will Boyd lives here, or at least he did. No one in the valley talks about him. And for good reason.
Strickland Farm
Property owned by the Strickland family of farmers. No friends to Eden’s Gate.
U.S. Auto
A scrap yard containing trashed cars, broken farm equipment, and even a few busted planes. Eden's Gate uses the garage to build and maintain their convoys.
Doverspike Compound
Les Doverspike was a militia nut and he built himself a bunker. Nobody in the prepper community liked him. Despite that, he was anti-cult and pro-Resistance.
Harris Residence
Mike and Deb Harris were preppers with a cunning plan to keep themselves fed after the end of the world.
Reservoir Construction Yard
Deep North Water wanted to build a new reservoir for the Holland Valley. The company ran out of funding and was chased away by Eden’s Gate.
Dodd’s Dumps
Colin Dodd used to run garbage disposal for the whole Holland Valley, and his business lot shows it. The cult intimidated him into leaving but has yet to sort through all he left behind.
Davenport Farm
The remains of a run-down farm. Local farmers let their cows graze here. Can't let good land go to waste.
Hilgard Electric Power Station
The Holland Valley's power supply is reliant on this transformer station which is controlled by Eden's Gate.
Golden Valley Gas
Once the kind of gas station that gave out free bubble gum to kids, Golden Valley is now a strategic point of gasoline and auto maintenance for the Project at Eden's Gate.
Green-Busch Fertilizer Co.
Facing a decline in business, the Green-Busch family said “yes” and sold the place to John Seed on the condition that locals could keep their jobs and work alongside Eden's Gate.
St. Isidore School
Once a religious boarding school, it was forced to close its doors by Eden's Gate.
Dodd Residence
Home of Colin Dodd, hoarder and DIY enthusiast. He never throws anything out. His granddaughter Nadine's been known to lurk here.
Roberts Cabin
Home of Joe Roberts, a hunter. He's gone missing. He loved hunting deer above all else.
Hope County Clinic
Dr. Kim Patterson provides medical services to Hope County's farmers and low-income residents, many of whom would never receive care in such a remote area.
Holland Valley Station
In the days that it was up and running, Copperhead Rail used to stop here. Eden’s Gate uses this station to catch people who try to escape the region.
Grain Elevator
As the farmlands started to collapse, the grain elevator was the first casualty. Too expensive to maintain.
Henbane River Rail Bridge
Copperhead Rail was created in the 1880s during a mining boom, and shut down in the early 70s after the industry collapsed.
Flatiron Stockyards
Bobby Budell established the stock yards in 1946, and has proudly provided farm and ranch auction services since. The economic and community base employed over 25 people at its height.
Fillmore Residence
Home of Doug Fillmore. Not much is known about him.
Dupree Residence
Home of Tommy Dupree, an idiot who used to work at Green-Busch Fertilizer Co. He got fired by Eden's Gate because he was as dumb as the crap he bagged.
Catamount Mines
Fall’s End owes its existence to the gold Orville Fall discovered here in 1865. The mine brought a generation of prosperity to the region until a suspicious accident entombed 100 men within it, forcing its closure in 1912.
Sunrise Farm
Sunrise Farm was going under, so owners Mike and Chandra Dunagan reluctantly sold it to Eden's Gate. Big mistake.
Deep North Irrigation Reservoir
Originally designed to irrigate farms, the reservoir became a liability when the cult began putting Bliss in the water supply. The Resistance sealed it up to buy themselves time.
Red’s Farm Supply
The Redler family has run this place for 4 generations, and earned a reputation for honest business. Wendell did his best to keep it out of cult hands.
Purpletop Telecom Tower
In the 1950s, Purpletop Telecom built this tower, blessing people with the wonders of AM radio. As time and technology marched forward, they were also given the American splendor of a local TV station.
Woodson Pig Farm
This place has been in the Woodson family since 1943. Current owners Andrew and Frances Woodson used their wealth to try to stand up to John Seed and fight him in court. They lost, and joined the Resistance.
Sawyer Residence
Don Sawyer came from out of town to join the Project at Eden's Gate. He restores canoes, but isn't very good at it. Visitors have sworn they've heard him swearing in Russian over those boats.
Hyde Barn
Kenny Hyde's a poor man in Holland Valley, but that doesn't stop him from loving deep fried balls. He's the proud keeper of Fall’s End Testy Festy decorations, stashing them at his barn until they're needed.
Kupka Ranch
Zip Kupka's the only one who really knows what's going on in the Holland Valley.
John’s Gate
A missile silo long decommissioned and abandoned. The locals used to call it "Area 68." Eden's Gate bought it in secret and turned it into a bunker that is in John Seed's safekeeping until the Collapse.
Security Gate
Formerly the entrance to the missile silo, it's now the gateway to John Seed's bunker. Everything taken in the Reaping passes through this checkpoint.
Steele Farm
The Steele family managed to get their kids out of Hope County, but stayed behind to try and defend their home from Eden's Gate.
Lamb of God Church
A Lutheran church. Its elderly priest was overshadowed by Pastor Jerome’s charismatic sermons. John once asked the priest to say “yes.” Not a chance. Then, the priest was gone. He had taken a “long vacation.”
Lamb of God Sacristy
The Project at Eden's Gate has turned the Lamb of God Church's sacristy into a holding place for everything they need to baptize people at the water's edge.
Armstrong Residence
The Project at Eden's Gate targeted the Armstrong family early, burning their home to the ground when Grace Armstrong refused to devote her sharpshooting skills to the Father's cause.
Bradbury Tractor Shed
A shed for tractors.
Hope County Jail Bus
Prisoners hijacked this bus but were run off the road. The wreck was left to rot in the woods. When Eden's Gate brought prohibition to Hope County, some enterprising moonshiners set up shop behind the cult’s back.
Parker Laboratories
Home and workshop of Dr. Laurence Parker, and the origin of many mysterious noise complaints.
Seed Ranch
The power of yes gave John Seed this dream ranch overlooking the Holland Valley. it has commanding views, a private air strip, and secluded soundproofed rooms for his most invigorating religious pursuits.
Bradbury Farm
The home of the Bradbury family, hay farmers for generations. The strange pattern of dead hay in the field does not impact the quality of the final product. That's the Bradbury guarantee.
Bradbury Hay Field
Bradbury Farm's hay is baled and stored here before being sold to clients looking to feed their livestock with quality hay.
Laurel Residence
Laurel family honey was a local market favorite until their bee colony collapsed and jeopardized the business. It also spooked the Laurels who sunk money into a bunker and became preppers overnight.
Eden’s Gate Greenhouse
Bliss plants are found throughout the Henbane River, but they're also found here. John Seed takes the flowers he receives by boat from the east and plants them in his greenhouse.
Seed Boat Launch
Once a favorite spot for summer frolickers, this boat launch is used by John Seed for receiving shipments of Bliss and other supplies from elsewhere in Hope County.
Rye & Sons Aviation
This plot of land was first settled in 1920 by Willard Rye. He started a crop dusting business. His sons inherited both and it now belongs to the current generation of Ryes: Nick & Kim.
Kellett Cattle Co.
The Kellett family supplied beef for 3 generations. These proud Republicans thought they recognized the American spirit in Eden’s Gate, but when John Seed asked them to serve the Project, they said “no.”
Fall’s End
After prospector Orville Fall struck gold, his small mining camp quickly grew. Decades later, his rival, rail baron Emmett Reaves, shot him dead in the streets, giving the town its official name.
Old Silo
Welcome to the middle of it.
Kay-Nine Kennels
The owner, Kay Wheeler, loved her dogs more than life itself. She bred and trained hunting and guard dogs. When Eden’s Gate showed up, the local demand for guard dogs tripled. John Seed noticed and took action.
Sunrise Threshing
A silo and shed complex attached to Sunrise Farm. Rumor has it that Mike Dunagan's stashed a lot of cool shit around here somewhere.
Redler Residence
Home of Wendell Redler, local businessman and Vietnam veteran.
Adams Ranch
Jules Adams lost her husband in an "accident" after saying no to John Seed. Her family's struggled to keep the cattle ranch out of cult hands ever since.
Miller Residence
Despite financial hardship, the Miller family refused the cult’s invitations, prepping for doomsday all on their own. When the reaping came, Jerry Miller was out working.
Wellington Residence
The Wellington family mine is an urban legend, supposedly stuffed with gold, explosives, or both depending who you ask. Generations of Wellingtons (possibly inbred) have tried and failed to strike it rich here.
Some misc ghost au stuff 💕
Masterpost
(ID in alt and under cut)
ID: 1a. Ghost Guillermo slumped over, leaning an elbow on his tail with his cheek resting in his palm, doing a talking head. There is a small mic on the table in front of him, text nearby explaining he can't wear a lapel mic. Guillermo says, "My unfinished business... I really don't know. There's too much I missed out on in life to even narrow it down. I'm not that invested in keeping the house clean or anything. Besides, like they said, I'd be here forever." 1b. Guillermo lifts his head up, horror crossing over his face as he whispers "What if I'm here forever??" The table mic slowly lifts itself up, surrounded by Guillermo's ghostly blue glow and unnoticed by the spectre himself.
2a. Talking head with Colin, looking a little annoyed as he explains "Yeah, I can't feed from ghosts, which is super frustrating since they're basically pure energy. It's like having a can of Pepsi with the tab clipped off. Or trying to suck a super thick milkshake through a coffee stirrer. 2b. B roll of Colin licking his lips hungrily and staring at Ghost Guillermo as he drags a body past. Colin's voiceover continues, "Guess this is how the sanguinarian vamps have always felt around Gizmo. The forbidden snack! Haha, so tempting..."
3a. Talking head with Guillermo - the producer asks offscreen "You implied before that your unfinished business may have...something to do with Nandor?" Blushing and forcing a reassuring smile, Guillermo waves his hands in front of him and replies "Oh! No. No. No, no, no. That would be...that can't be it. I was never planning on telling him anything." 3b. Guillermo drops his hands and his smile and looks away with a grimace, reddening further as he mumbles, "Like he didn't already know... Besides, that's all in the past! I may be single again, but that doesn't mean I'm going backwards."
4a. Nandor ducks into the room wearing his travel cloak, chin raised imperiously, and announces, "Guillermo! I am going out to track your useless sire and save your mortal soul. No need to thank me or anything." Guillermo immediately whips his head around to give Nandor an adoring smile, obediently saying "Thank you, Master!" with a heart. Nandor replies "Of course." 4b. Guillermo turns back to the camera with a glare, cheeks red and the ghostly blue glow intensifying behind him in an intimidating way. He points a finger at the camera and snaps "Shut. Up." /end ID
Colin and Damian's dynamic and each of them as individuals really intrigues me, so I wanted to continue my "Damian Wayne HC's", with their relationship and my intrepretation of things.
(By the way, I already made a post about explaining Colin's character within the canon. He is a character who is very misinterpreted and most of the time written as a Jon Kent 2.0. So if you want to understand my hc's for him more, you can go into my 'Colin Wilkes' tags and see my posts about him.)
Colin is a stoic kid. Damian is a stoic kid. So they make a pretty intimidating duo.
They both are considered 'cold' but Colin is more 'silent-cold' while Damian is 'unhinged-cold'.
Colin has always admired and loved superheroes ever since Batman saved him from Scarecrow, so his stoic persona slips away whenever he comes across one. He also does not have a 'least favorite' hero. He loves all of them.
Since Colin grew up in an orphanage and every night went out as Abuse to save people, he is very protective. Damian, naturally, is very protective. So sometimes it gets in their way when they're trying to save the other during fights and they end up just messing everything up and fuck off.
Although Colin is very stoic, before he became Abuse, he was a very shy child. He had a closed-off sadness inside him since people mostly adopted babies or toddlers. He just knew that he was too old and would be without a family.
After becoming Abuse, he first hand realized how dangerous Gotham could be to the people and the children. This filled him up with a new type of feeling, so he ended up following his heroe's foot steps and became a vigilante.
Colin (canonically) found out Damian was Robin from a single back flip. His ability to stay calm in situations and assess really helps him on the field.
Colin and Damian never go to school together, never meet up as Damian and Colin. At least not at first. Their friendship is built upon duty and mission. The realization of them being friends come to them years later.
There is only one person Damian would not hesitate to tell any sorts of secret, and that's Colin Wilkes. He just knows that no matter what, Colin would never judge him or admonish him for his flaws and mistakes.
Colin rarely sees Damian's other siblings, but Damian feels like Colin isn't very interested in them despite being a superhero fan. Which in return interests Damian. He never really understands why.
Colin is not very interested in Damian's siblings because they are so unlike Damian, it becomes very uncommonly common. Sure he likes them and admires their work very much. But they simply don't fight, think, joke or understand him like Damian.
What really intrigues Colin about Damian is that his character is exactly opposite of what a hero 'should' be. He is brash, agressive, hilarious in a fucked up way, dangerous, scary, theatrical, uncaring and scarred. He is such an uncommonly uncommon person that Colin just can't help but be his friend.
Best part of being Abuse to Colin is branding criminals' faces. He isn't sadistic really, but it gives him a deep pleasure doing it.
Damian thinks branding criminals is genius, although he refrains from doing it. Branding isn't really a Bat type of thing.
Colin doesn't really get along with Jon. Jon tries to befriend him and Colin knows that he is a good kid. But befriending Jon (or any other friend of Damian) means patrolling the streets as a trio rather than a duo. He can't really explain it, but it just feels wrong to imagine Damian in a three person group. He isn't jealous or anything, he is perfectly fine with Damian patrolling with Jon. It's just that he feels like, with Damian, it's supposed to be a duo. Bringing a third person messes up the dynamic for him and Damian.
After Alfred's death, Damian (canonically) ends up leaving the Manor and continuing on his own. And for a while Damian and Colin end up living together. These are the times where they really see what they mean to each other.
Damian sometimes really struggles to see or understand what really Colin is to him. A friend, ally, rival, lover, brother? He really doesn't know. What he knows though is that Colin means so much to him and that he will keep being at his side as long as he's allowed.
When someone hurts Colin, he will hurt them as much as they hurt him. An eye for an eye.
When someone hurts Damian, he will hurt them ten times more and they'll regret ever touching him.
Although Colin is a Batman fan, he doesn't have his moral code. He won't go out of his way to kill someone, but if they do end up dying he won't care as much as he should.
When Damian was a kid and would kill someone, he wouldn't feel anything. After Bruce's influence, in those rare times that he kills someone, all he hears is his father's voice in his head. So sometimes he wonders whether he is a bad person for feeling remorse because of his father and not for actually killing someone.
Both Colin and Damian aren't touchy people.
Colin isn't a touchy person because he rarely got them when he was little and now he just doesn't find the appeal in it. He doesn't really care or desire for it as much as other kids.
Damian on the other hand basically has haphephobia (fear of touch). He doesn't trust anyone to get that much close to him. Although he doesn't feel pain from touching, he feels lightheaded and reflexively presses his arms into his body as close as he can. This of course makes him uncomfortable. And in extreme cases, flashbacks and bad memories fill him up.
So these were some of my hc's for Colin and Damian. I don't know what you guys think of their relationship (whether it's romantic or pure friendship) so think of these as anyway you want.
Hi!! I love your writing so much!!
When I saw number 5 on your Drabbles list all I could think of was the team trying to figure out what’s going on with reader and Jamie and coming to the most wild conclusions like they did with Zava and Trent LMAO
AHH! This means so so much to me! Thank you!
I love this prompt so I hope you enjoy!
5. “Idiots. They are all idiots.”
Colin and Isaac peaked around the corner to stare down the hall as (Y/N) walked up the stairs. Surely she was going back and forth between offices, delievering messages and what not for Rebecca.
Since she'd come on the team as Rebecca's personal assistant, everything at Richmond had run smoother. (Y/N) was some kind of assistant extrodinare, memorizing Rebecca's needs in an instant and helping her to focus on the really important things.
She'd also fit right in with the Greyhounds. While her extreme A-Typer personality was intimidating at first but soon they warmed up to her and she softened for them.
But what was really getting the boys in a tizzle recently was her somewhat odd behavior around one certain Greyhound. Jamie Tartt always seemed to be missing right around the time that (Y/N) took her breaks, and during lunch, the both of them would disappear all together.
But the team was not one to back away from a mystery and made it their job to figure out exactly what was going on between the two of them. Right now, Colin and Isaac were on (Y/N) duty.
"What chu lookin' at?"
Jamie's voice from behind them caused Colin to jump, hitting his head on Isaac's chin. The two men cursed and grabbed their respective body parts.
"Fuck! Why'd you sneak up on us like that, bruv?" Isaac groaned, rubbing his chin.
"I didn't do nuthin'!" Jamie defended, walking over to sit in front of his locker. "It was you twos who were being weird."
Colin frowned as he rubbed his forehead, a red mark appearing right in the middle. "We weren't doing anything, were we Isaac?"
"Nope, nothin.'"
Jamie shrugged and whipped out his phone. Isaac looked down at Colin and nudged his head in Jamie's direction.
"So, Jamie!" Colin opened, standing up.
"Colin, I've told ya a million times, you don't need to keep askin me to use my lynx, just take it," Jamie dismissed, messing around with a filter on instagram.
"No, that's not- wait really?"
"Obviously."
Colin nodded, happy with this information. Isaac grunted, reminding Colin of the ask at hand. "Oh! I was wondering if you wanted to get lunch today. Roy told us about this new Kebab place down the road."
"If it's got anything to do with that old fart, I'm not interested," Jamie responded, standing up to grab his fanny pack.
"Oh, so you have plans then?" Isaac interjected, his gaze burning into an oblivious Jamie.
"Uh, yah? Eat lunch?" Jamie rolled his eyes. "Get away from you, twats for five minutes."
"Where are you goin then?" Colin boxed Jamie in. Isaac on one side of Jamie, Colin on the other. Jamie frowned at him, before nudging him out of the way.
"None of your fucking business, is it boyo?"
With that, Jamie was off down the hallway, walking past the same stairs the (Y/N) had climbed just a few minutes prior. Isaac and Colin looked at each other for a second before racing off down the hallway. They reached the boot room where seemingly the rest of the team was waiting.
When they entered the room, they were bombarded with questions flying at them.
"What did you learn?"
"Are they getting lunch together?"
"What lynx does Jamie have now?"
Isaac let out a bark to silence the crowd.
"Jamie didn't take the Kebab bait!" Isaac grunted, crossing his arms. "But he also wouldn't tell us where he was going."
"AH! So (Y/N)/Jamie lives," Dani exclaimed, looking around in exctiement.
He was met with shouts of disapproval and outrage.
"There is NO way that (Y/N) and Jamie are together," Bumbercatch argued. "(Y/N) is just too serious for him."
"Exactly, that's why it's clear they are starting a side hustle!" Jan Maas stated, raising his hand. "We should look to support them in their endeavors."
Again, there was cries of outrage as the boys all shouted their theories of what was going on with the two.
"Jamie is looking for a surrogate!"
"(Y/N) is his long lost sister!"
"She was actually hired to be Jamie's nanny to make sure he doesn't get into anymore trouble."
The theories went on, each more outrageous than the last. Unbeknownst to them, unoticed in the corner was Will. He'd been in there the whole time. He pulled out his phone and sent a message.
...
(Y/N)'s phone lit up in the cupholder between her and Jamie. Jamie was driving down the road, his sunglasses blocking his eyes. He had a hand on the wheel and the other was rubbing up and down her thigh gently.
(Y/N) reached over and grabbed her phone, letting out a giggle as she read his message.
"'the boys are properly distracted, have a good lunch' smiley face'" She read out, leaning over to show Jamie the photo of the boys arguing.
Jamie chuckled, glancing down at the phone. "Idiots, they're all idiots."
(Y/N) planted a kiss on Jamie's cheek before leaning back in her seat. "Yeah, but so are you."
Jamie smiled, content at the though of being (Y/N)'s idiot.
Hope you enjoyed!
I love that after treating Colin as less than an equal and trying to intimidate him prior to their parting of ways, Deli is clearly the one more affected by meeting again and seeing how Colin has comfortably moved on and found comradeship (or at least allyship) with Raphaniel. Like Colin was a little salty about the skald comments, but in that wonderfully understated "i care just enough to say something because you're wrong" way, a minor injury compared to how Deli is "thrown" by seeing Colin and Raphaniel fighting together
Do you ever think about how Colin told Deli about his past because he didn’t care what happened to himself after what they’d done? Or how even though they were fighting, and Deli had been yelling, trying to intimidate his skald into staying, there still hasn’t been any mention of Deli telling anyone Colin’s secret? That even though they fell away from each other and there was obvious animosity in their final moments together, Deli still didn’t reveal that information, knowing how it would hurt Colin if he did? Yeah.
I'm a huge fan and I know ur furry characters quite well. But I know nothing abt ur human characters. Quick introduction?...
gladly
you can read more info about them on my toyhouse, but i'll be doing a short intoduction for 4 of em specifically
---------------
Tumblr media
colin is the strict, "adult" character of the group, the one who'll ask "have you drink water today" kind of a guy
even if he seems bit intimidating, he deeply cares for others close to him, especially barry as they've been close friends since they were young and he's bit concirned about his lifestyle
he's currently living on his own (his parents send him money monthly but he try not to rely on it and make it out by his own by working on part time jobs) and is taking a break from law school to seek out his true passion.
-------------
Tumblr media
joie is unmotivated, passive, but still is somewhat is the "logical" type of the group
with his quiet,"try to avoid people" behavior and his "mean eye" gets people to think he hates them. sure he can communicate and clear the air, but he just....gave up, he simply dose not interect with people cause his social bettery is small
after he droped out from uni, he don't get out from his place (his bfs place that he moved in with to be exact) unless his friends gets involved and just keep persuing his passion of writing
his fantasy romence shorts and writing commissions are doing good at least, people seems to enjoy his way of writing that makes them feel soft.
-------------------
Tumblr media
barry is the flrity, "batshit insane" friend that seemingly live in a different world from the rest
he's super easy to get along (as long as you're ok with dirty jokes and friendly flirting) and have a strong social bettery going, basically a "people person"
he currently lives a quite comfy life at a roomy apartment complax, getting paied from a club thats built on his name but also hosting some fancy events in general
might have a crush on his childhood friend whos still very close, but thats a story for a another day
--------------
Tumblr media
vincent is also an introvert, but a differnt breed from joie
he's the "gets real nervous when need to talk with people,fucks up midway and makes some real dumb comments" type introvert.
for example, he will go up to a employee to complain about his drink order being wrong, ask for more salt on his fries instead and just eat the salty fries and mcdonalds sprite cause....he fucked up and he knows it fully
other then this, he's an ok guy, he's trying.
he's a animation major student who took a year break cause he don't have money. currently he's taking commissions from "suspiciously rich furries" and actually doing pretty aright
--------------------------
these are the main gang of my human characters!!!! the four of em are just 20s something guys whos struggling with life (who don't 😂😭) but trying to make the best of it
i mean yeah sure theres the craving of human flesh, murderous tendencys and the distortion of a mind and body caused by its own act of preservation under very specific circumstances, but thats not very importent right now
TMAGP EP 18 REACTION (SPOILERS)
TEDDY??? Okay no this man has shown up too many times he's going to end up back at the OIAR.
HELP ME WHAT IS THIS CONVERSATION ALSO TEDDY BISEXUAL??? But also she didn't mention Colin??
"Irritating yet faintly erotic" I LOVE YOU ALICE
"She's really weird but like in a hot way" ALICE YOU'RE DOWN SO BAD PLEASE
"She'll make you forget all about your embarrassing obsession with Sam" GIRL UR PROJECTING SO HARD THE PROTOCULE IS PROTOCULING HELLO?????
Alice my love. You're so. Hhhh. She cares so much but like. Hides it behind humor. I love you sm
Lena is so awkward god I love her she's like genuinely trying to be nice to Sam but she only knows how to be intimidating because of Gwen akdhsjfb.
My God I love Lena too "consider my silence a compliment" GIRL
"Is that it's name" LENA KELLEY YOU ARE THE FUNNIEST MOTHERFUCKER ON EARTH NO ONE KNOWS YOU LIKE I DO
AUGUSTUS???? ITS A JONAH CASE???? HOLY SHIT???? I THOUGHT WE WERE NEVER HEARING THIS OLD PRICK AGAIN
Oh my God shut up. SHUT UP. IMMEDIATELY AFTER ALICE HAD A DROWNED PERSON START TALKING TO HER. This is interesting because that person was drowned but this one seems to be dehydrated???
THE FUCKING CHANGE IN TONE DURING THE TRANSCRIPT????
Wait wait spiders??? And confusing passageway and locked doors??? Hmm interesting. I know we'd classify this as The Web and The Spiral but I don't think those classifications exist in this world?? Additionally, all the talk of "Mother" makes me this of The Web being called "The mother of puppets"
I also see a bit of The Lonely. The weird filter om "laugh" bothers me.
Sam telling Alice about this being same as her experience ALSO YES SAME HES GETTING IT "sounds like she was trapped in her greatest fear which then actually killed her"
Alice come on sweetie you really shouldn't ignore this come on. You know this.
Okay I can see why Alice and Sam didn't work out in the past. Like in a way, I just don't think they could have been compatible during the time after Alice's parents death because Alice does not handle trauma well and lashes out a bit without noticing it. I'm only saying this because I do kind of feel bad for Sam, he's trying to help Alice to keep her safe but she's shutting down every idea he has.
I do get Alice's side though, in her place, she wants to put it behind her and not think about it. But it's not good for her especially not in the genre she's in lol
"Trouble in paradise" there is ALWAYS going to be trouble in paradise with those two IN FACT I highly doubt there IS a paradise.
Oh boy. What's the next monster Gwen is gonna have to deal with.
GWEN IS TELLING THEM SHIT???? OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD I GENUINELY AM IN SHOCK. I NEVER THOUGHT SHE'D TELL THEM.
Oh no. Oh no poor Gwen, she's never going to open up to anyone again. I mean I understand them thinking she's fucking with them but Jesus. She's traumatized from that.
Okay yeah Alice my girl I love you. But you keep ignoring these things and someone you care about is going to really get hurt.
GEORGIE????? OH MY GOD WE'RE HEARING GEORGIE MY GIRLFRIEND GEORGIE OH YM GOD HOLY SHIT HOLY FUCK
JACK SOUNDS SO CUTE (who keeps taking Georgie's face) AKBDKSBF
Oh dear. Okay so I'm absolutely sure Celia woke up in the middle of bumfuck nowhere again and called Georgie to watch Jack but said that it was because she went to grab baby food. Georgie knows she's lying.
Celia I like you??? Oooo????
GEORGIE AODHAKFBSB SPYING ON HER FOR THE GOVERNMENT THATS HILARIOUS. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WOULDNT BE SPYING FOR THE MASONS.
Okay interesting interesting I just feel really bad for poor Gwen now. She's never going to trust them with anything again and she's probably going to be even worse to them. Which like they do kind of deserve but also like I get why they wouldn't believe her immediately? But they should have read the room she seemed genuinely distressed. And I think Alice knows it's real which is why she didn't say anything. But at the same time, she didn't stop Sam and I think it's partially because she wants to pretend it's not real.
Hooo boy lots to think about.
I think we underestimate Jamie's charisma sometimes too, even when he was at peak prick mode. Like in S1 he is awful, yet he shows up and somehow gets both Isaac and Colin to follow along with him and try and impress him. Hes younger than both of them, hes not physically intimidating, and other than being great at football, he can't exactly hold that over their heads to gain anything from them (its not like it gives him power over the team) but he still gets these two other grown young men to tag along after him
Definitely!! Roy mentioned how much "influence" Jamie had over the team, so I'm sure it was more than just Isaac and Colin who looked up to him. I do think it was partly because he's so talented, but he definitely also just has a gravitational personality. He's extroverted and funny
I also think this is part of why Roy resents him. He's the captain and he's been playing football longer than Jamie's been alive and he's a legend and he's spent his whole life deliberately commanding respect via ruthlessness and yet he's stuck in this power struggle with this obnoxious disobedient disrespectful twenty-three-year old who people just naturally gravitate to because they like his ugly outfits and stupid one liners. It's like "who the fuck do you think you are" but more importantly it's like "do people really respect me less than they respect this horrible child. I mean nothing it all means nothing"
