In the next moment, Subaru is pulled back by the scruff of her collar, a sharp squeek making it's way out of her throat as she is suddenly brought against someone's chest, nails digging into her shoulder, a low, frustrated growl filling her ears.

"Why the mirror would choose to put you there," the man hissed, nails digging deeper into the cloth of the ceremonial robe, and by extension, her skin, clearly unamused, "is beyond me, but I trust that it does not make mistakes, thus I suppose you will not make a habit of this."

The following thirty-seven minutes is a mess of getting through the rest of the sorting, making sure people are unharmed, and, ultimately, foisting the fire-type cat-Pokèmon into her arms with some sort of magical sedative.

Honestly, by the time she's face to face with the fuming half-fae, she's kind of out of it, simply going through the motions of surviving the rest of the day, so really, while his anger is something of an expected thing, the cornering her while they're on their way to vaunted 'Diasmonia Dorm' is, decidedly, not.

"I hope you understand the absolute humi-"

Pulling the tiny demon of a Pokèmon closer to her chest with one arm, Subaru raises the other with a half-hearted swiping gesture, making him back off a bit.

"Yell at me tomorrow, I have a monster to corrall and a bed to sleep in."

And with that said, she takes the lead, leaving the poor boy to splutter out half-formed sentences in a language she doesn't recognize.

F!MC: The father of my child passed away recently and we got kicked out of our house.

Professor Trein: Well, the headmage and the others are still discussing on what to do about this situation.

F!MC: *is obviously worried*

Professor Trein: Anyway, has your child already eaten?

F!MC: Ah, yes! *chuckles* I always make sure he gets to eat three meals a day with enough nourishment.

Professor Trein: What's his name?

F!MC: Riddle.

Professor Trein: ...

Professor Trein: Did you know that we have a student here that has the same name as your son's?

F!MC: Oh? Did you hear that, Riddle?

Toddler Riddle: *nods* But Mama... You not hungry?

F!MC: Mama has already eaten.

Toddler Riddle: Really?? I did not see you eat.

Professor Trein: Oh. What a smart child. And if you haven't eaten yet, we should go to the cafeteria.

F!MC: N-No! I'm fine!

Professor Trein: I insist. *smiles kindly at her*

Lilia: Is that the lady with a child from the Orientation earlier?

Silver: Yes.

Sebek: Isn't she too young to be a mother?

F!MC: *curiously looking at the ghost who's serving food*

Toddler Riddle: *trying to high five with the other ghost*

Professor Crewel: Professor Trein, there you are.

Professor Trein: Have you reached a decision?

Professor Crewel: It depends. *turns his attention at MC*

F!MC: I'm... 17.

F!MC: *gives him a troubled smile*

Professor Crewel: I shouldn't have asked.

F!MC: It's alright. Haha...

Professor Trein: So....?

Professor Crewel: She will be staying here.

Toddler Riddle: Yay, Mama. We're going to have a house.

Professor Crewel: ...

Professor Crewel: Is he happy or sarcastic?

F!MC: This is his happy tone.

Silver: Father, that would be rude.

Arms fell away from his head, with one hand settling on his shoulder and the other tipping his head back so that she could look him in the eye.

Yuuki Subaru was scrawny, with too wide eyes, and a pretty shitty dye job, she was small and rather hard to spot, but unfathomably bright despite it, what a strange paradox.

"You're pretty weird," he stated, matter of fact, grim beginning to take shape, "I think I'll call you Goby."

And then he let go of her all at once, causing the hand on his shoulder to tighten and yank at his blazer, a yelp escaping her that made him grin wider, as she stumbled backwards until she was only being held up by her grip on his uniform.

"Yeah, Goby fits you."

"Upperclassmen Leech," she snapped, voice harsh, righting herself to the best of her ability, "as lovely as this has been, I think I should take my leave."

"You could ditch."

"And I could be homeless."
