In short. This woman, Naima(@naiemasblog) is struggling beyond what many of us could ever imagine.

You don't need to be a mother to imagine how desperate to save her children she is. Her family has 17 members. Would you not go to the ends of the earth to help your own family in this position?

If you would, then you understand why we need to help her do the same!

We can do this by donating to her campaign, linked on her account.

However- if you can't donate, there are other ways to help.

• You can make a post -like this one- promoting their GoFundMe. I myself don't have much to offer, but it doesn't take money to show you care and do your part, ANYONE can do this. You don't need a big account either. Reaching ONE person is better than NO ONE. What if the ONE person who sees your post has the funds to help?

•if you know someone who can help, ask if they'd be willing to donate. It can't hurt to ask. They might be educated by your request, and you're still doing your part. Even minors, you can ask your parents.

•repost their posts. If you're not willing to make your own post, or if you wanna get their account more revenue, reposting can help aswell. You can also add tags when you repost, which helps boost.

This is not meant to substitute research, but instead catch people briefly up to date so they can comprehend the urgency of this very troubling reality that people face and understand why we need to help. )

People in Palestine have been under the thumb of Israel attacks because of the war against Palestine and Israel. Israel's side of the war is using lethal force against Palestinian people and bombing towns full of citizens. This has been going on for months and months. So much bombing has taken place that almost everywhere is destroyed. The Gaza Strip is one of the last places people can go for any kind of refuge, and even now, there's still bombing taking place. There's hardly any refuge or food, the hospitals are suffering due to limited power, and many people do not have the money to leave. That is why they need our help. Outside of Gaza, there are refugee stations and help centers to help shelter the escaped Palestinians, but they have to get there first. And in order to do that, they need someone to help get them the money, that's where we, as people outside of Gaza- many of us living in America which actively funds Israel- come in! It's our time to do something, and all of us are able to do something even if it's small.

Perception not matching reality, what is/is not a monster is a huge theme throughout SNW.

Ghost of Illyria – Those light monsters didn’t murder the Illyrians, they are the Illyrians and were trying to save Pike and Spock all along. Everyone (except Una ofc) learns a lesson that Illyrians can’t be lumped in with the Augments and need greater understanding Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach – Turns out that nice lovely civilization is literally torturing children. The terrorists are actually trying to save those children. The Serene Squall – Surprise the counselor is a pirate Ad Astra Per Aspera – Continues with the Illyrians deserve understanding theme. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow – That helpful reporter is actually a Romulan. Even notorious tyrant and mass murderer Khan Noonien Singh was once a scared child. Lost in Translation – Starfleet is the monster, accidentally torturing and killing a life form they didn't know existed. Under the Clock of War – Turns out the lovely ship’s doctor is actually the Butcher of J’Gal and capable of murdering someone in cold blood. War can make a monster of anyone.

Yet so many people seem to think they’re not going to pull something similar with the Gorn? Even though the show has taken time to establish that the Gorn are intelligent and have a religion?

The thing about the Gorn is that people have died - La’an’s family, Hemmer, some other members of the Enterprise crew, nearly the entire crew of the Cayuga, multiple colonies - and possibly Marie will be added to that list before the two-parter is done. That creates an environment where it’s understandable that the SNW characters would not want to have their perception that the Gorn are monsters challenged, because the harm they have caused is so personal.

It creates a really interesting conflict for the crew, because how do you find understanding, how to you fight the will for revenge, when there’s been so much pain?

I could be wrong about this being the route the SNW writers are going down, but I’m really excited to see if they do.

oh wow! You are so sweet for sending this, and you genuinely made my day. I didn't think anyone was really reading those! Certainly not to the point that they would be missed if I didn't do them. I'm going to try and type up some thoughts today, cause the last few episodes have given me a lot of them! To be honest, my enthusiasm can make me feel like a bit of a pest at the best of times if I don't have some reassurance that it's not obnoxiousness, and with engagement here being so low, I'd lost some drive to organize my thoughts or put time into making so many things here. I really do try to manage my expectations (a small fandom + with a lot of fans not happy with current storyline choices + my own probably unpopular takes on what that show is doing and how well it's doing it + of a show that airs in a language I don't know + general changes to how and how often people interact with each other on this website + different people vibing with different things + my own skill level at expression or creation = very, very low🤣 ) but it has been a bit discouraging, I'm not going to lie. I wasn't planning on stopping, either with my obsession with the show or with posting things here, but it had changed how excited I was to come scream into the void a bit to not have much of a response back in a sadly pretty dead tag. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate so much everyone who has reached out, either through tags or reblogs or likes. And the other people making stuff in this fandom are literal rockstars in my eyes. You in particular have been a highlight for me, both with your beautiful gifsets and tags with commentary and actual narrative analysis. Be still my heart, that is exactly what I look for most in fandom, and it's been really hard to find! Every time we've spoken has been a delight, and your lastest thoughts about HalZey in season two inspired me to check twitter for more, and while I'm not sure I found your account, I did find a lot of people who are still really invested in the show and talking to each other about it in depth, and that has be game changing. I'm more inspired than ever right now, and you are a huge part of why, so I really can't thank you enough!

How fortunate am I to have so many Things to love and be excited about, to appreciate and look forward to?

Things I feel so strongly about that they stumble into my mind, univited, at random times of the day? Things that spill into my speech and vocabulary without me noticing? Things that impact my vision to the point where everywhere I look, everywhere I go, I see ghosts of them?

How lucky am I to have so many Things I love and cherish enough for them to reshape my very person, change my beliefs and make me grow? Things that make my own loved ones see the Things out in the wild, and go out of their way to make sure I see them too?

How wonderful is it that I have Things that I love so much that the very act is deemed and dubbed "not normal", making my love for them seem like it's more than they are supposed to recieve? An out-of-the-ordinary and above-the-norm appreciation for the Things that make the people around me shake their heads, call me "silly".
