Theyfab Flag!
Tumblr media
Image ID: A 7 striped flag. Colors, in descending order, are: pink; salmon; light gold; white; light purple; violet; pink. End ID.
Theyfab is a slur/insult thrown at AFAB nonbinary people, especially feminine-presenting AFAB people. I am reclaiming it. This flag is for other people who reclaim it. The reclaimed theyfab stands for celebrating femininity when freed from girlhood, being connected to your AGAB, body, femininity, and/or she/her pronouns without that invalidating your identity, separating gender from presentation, transmasculinity and transneutrality, detaching oneself from girlhood, and acknowledging the transmisandry and the misogyny that AFAB trans people face. Not all theyfabs will relate to all of these, they're just possible experiences that might effect why someone would identify with theyfab as a term. It stands against reducing trans people to their AGABs, destroying the norms that trans people must be traditionally masculine, feminine, or androgynous to be valid, supports pronoun nonconformity and gender nonconformity especially when done by trans people.
Anyone who is AFAB and nonbinary and/or transmasc and/or uses they/them pronouns and/or neos can reclaim this term. Additionally, anyone who's been derogatorily called "theyfab" can use it, regardless of actual AGAB, identity, or pronouns. It's my belief that slurs can be reclaimed by the people they hurt and the people like the ones they hurt.
If you cannot reclaim theyfab, but you support what this reclamation stands for, support people who reclaim it, and wholeheartedly support transmascs, transneutrals, and AFAB trans people, you can use this tf ally flag!
Tumblr media
Image ID: A diluted version of the theyfab flag with an ally symbol in the colors of the theyfab flag, not diluted
Why I reclaim theyfab:
I have not personally been called a theyfab, but I feel I am the person they'd want to mock the most. Of course, I hit the basics:
• AFAB
• Nonbinary
• They/them
But also, I am:
• Bigender, with my primary gender being hypergirl
• Feminine presenting
• Cisgender, fully identifying as cisgender, and sometimes cistrans but usually just cisgender
• Don't want to transition
• She/her
If I wasn't above working for transphobes I could have been their theyfab mascot. I want to reclaim theyfab because despite being feminine presenting, despite still using she/her pronouns and still describing myself as cisgender, and despite being a girl, I am aporagender. I am nonbinary. I am all of these things and me being a girl, a girly girl, doesn't invalidate my gender and just because I prefer she/her pronouns doesn't mean I don't wanna be called they/them quite a bit. I am not any less valid for how I present or for the rest of my identity than any other nonbinary people, even those who fully medically transition.

Transneurainian & Transneufieldian
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transneurainian (left) || Transneufieldian (right)
Transneurainian:
1.) Identifying with your AGAB, which is AMAB, while viewing yourself as transitioning towards a masculine and neutral identity, having a primarily masculine and neutral identity, or presenting muscularly / neutraly.
2.) Not identifying with your AGAB, and viewing your gender as being masculine and neutral, while being trans.
3.) Being fluid between or both of these definitions.
4.) Simply being both Transrainian & Transneutral.
Transneufieldian:
1.) Identifying with your AGAB, which is AFAB, while viewing yourself as transitioning towards a feminine and neutral identity, having a primarily feminine and neutral identity, or presenting femininely / neutrally.
2.) Not identifying with your AGAB, and viewing your gender as being feminine and neutral, while being trans.
3.) Being fluid between or both of these definitions.
4.) Simply being both Transfieldian & Transneutral.
.
These terms were posted sometime vaguely before or on June 25, 2021. That's the date I found these terms reblogged on, so unfortunately I currently cannot find the original posting date due to the one wiki these being on is down.
These terms were created back when the vast majority of people viewed Transfem as AMAB-only and Transmasc as AFAB-only, and I jumped on the "AGAB means nothing in transitioning" (for the lack of better words) bandwagon at the time. These terms are pretty similar in function as Admasculine and Adfeminine. That being said these terms aren't exclusive to anyone.
Also, adding this now but Transneurainian can also be called Transrainianeu, Transneurai, or Transraineu. Transneufieldian can also be called Transfieldianeu, Transneufie, or Transfieneu.

i know this is not by any means an original concept, but i made some pride flags. the top ones are transfeminine and transmasculine; the bottom ones are transneutral/transandrogyne/etc. the designs consist of the regular trans flag with an extra stripe inserted in the center (pink, blue, purple, yellow, and green) to represent the user’s femininity, masculinity, androgyny, gender-neutrality, genderlessness, etc.
when i say “transmasculine” and “transfeminine” i am referring to self-defined and self-created gender, not assigned sex; these flags represent a person’s trans-ness being entwined with their masculinity, femininity, androgyny, etc, regardless of their chromosomes, natal genitals, or anything else.
i also made a transfeminine flag with the outer stripes swapped, for higher contrast:

stop associating periods and menstrual products with “women’s products”
periods can be in any gender (which is also why we’ve really gotta see gender as more than just man or woman) and in addition to being dysphoria inducing for many transmasc and many other trans individuals, especially of whom aren’t fem alligned, this labeling also hurts intersex individuals. from afab transmascs and transneus, to intersex people with conditions like Persistent Müllerian Duct Syndrome (PMDS) [many of whom are assigned male at birth as this condition involves a intersex variation of otherwise endosex male biology] and even those who have their period in general, infrequently or not, intersex or not. it hurts trans men who might still be having it, along with intersex people, nonbinary people, and just transpeople in general. another issue with this labeling of menstrual products as “women’s products” is because it mostly just takes cis women into account, but not trans women, such as those on E who experience periodlike symptoms without bleeding, or who’ve gotten a vaginoplasty. those who experience endometriosis and adenomyosis, two conditions that can cause heavy bleeding, also face barriers to treatment and menstrual related care.
this stigma with those having their period while not being a woman, or needing it for chronic illness, or other medical reasons besides bleeding, perceived or otherwise, hurts pretty much anyone who isn’t an ablebodied endosex cis woman

VENTURE IS TRANSNETURAL
i saw someone on twitter saying that they headcanon venture as transmasc and like… bruh they’re transneu??? and they tried to argue with me and others about it??? like wtf???
“transmasc non-binary people exist,” okay, that is true… but venture is not one of them.
everything about them is extremely neutral and blizzard took great care — for once in their goddamn existence — to make sure it was going to be that way.
saying they’re anything other than transneu is straight up erasure. full stop, point blank, period.
like yes, i will be the first one to say that we need more transmasc (and especially transfem) non-binary representation in media, but venture isn’t one of them. they’re transneu. end of story.
and this has nothing to do with me personally headcanoning venture as amab. i am not biased against afab venture, people can have their headcanons all they want (/gen) but the fact is that they are transneu, it is just the truth. blizzard doesn’t need to hold our hand and explicitly say it when the proof is right there in front of us.

Trans Flags
[pt Trans Flags /end pt] So we decided to make our own variations of the trans flags, since a few of us weren't huge on the originals [nothing against them, just not for us] and I wanted to share them! They'll all be below the cut, anyones free to use them however for us we prefer transfemmasc & transfemmascneu are only used by intersex people, there are other flags that aren't exclusive so we do ask this is respected <3 Each flag does have a purple for the first and last stripe, this is meant to be "androgynous" and not specific to any one AGAB. As there can be AFAB Transfems or AMAB Transmascs in the case of intersex individuals and we wanted to try and not limit these flags based on AGAB. The Transfem & Transmasc flags are also designed for Transwomen & Transmen respectively! We often use the words interchangably [noting we understand there is a difference however for us we often use both]
Transfem or Transwoman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transfem or Transfeminine, is often used to state transitioning to femininity, this can & does include trans women! We used pink, like what's commonly found on "feminine aligned" gender flags such as Transfem, Female, ect.
Transfemneu or Transwomanneu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transfemneu or Transfeminineneutral, is often used to state transitioning to femininity & neutrality, this includes trans women as well. We used the same pink as the transfem flag, mixed with a yellow color used to represent neutrality.
Transneu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transneu or Transneutral is used to state transitioning to neutrality or androgyny. We used a yellow-tone as we often see that associated with neutrality / neutral flags.
Transmascneu or Transmaleneu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transmascneu or Transmasculineneutral, is used to state tranistioning to masculinity and androgyny, this does include trans men as well. We used the yellow from transneu along side the blue from transmasc.
Transmale or Transman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transmasc or Transmasculine is used to state transitioning to masculinity, which includes trans men. We used blue as it's commonly found on "Masculine-aligned" genders, such as Transmasc and Male.
Transfemmasc or Transmalefemale
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transfemmasc or Transfemininemasculine is used to state someone whos transitioning to femininity and masculinity, which for us is specific to those who are intersex. We used both the pinks and blues of transfem and transmasc in order to represent both identities.
Transfemmascneu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transfemmascneu or Transfemininemasculineneutral is used to state someone who's transitioning to femininity, masculinity and androgyny/neutrality. We used the first blue from transmasc and first pink from transfem, mixing them with the yellow tones from transneu to try to capture each of the 3 identities, I won't lie however this one was very difficult to do as it originally felt like a rainbow.

i like randomly stumbling across this blog when im feeling bad and looking around the afab transfem tags .. its very nice
i'm not intersex myself but i've gone through a lot of labels. i used to think i was transmasc/masc nb because i was so forced into a boy role, and in some way i still identify with that part of myself, i'm still a *boy* in some fucked up way! but. its complicated
i was bullied my whole life for being masculine, i look like my dad, i was fat (something that, growing up in the 2010s, would get me called a man), i had masculine interests, got called slurs specifically for trans women etc. i felt so disconnected from being a girl that i think i duped myself into thinking i was entirely not
i'd define myself as a "girlthing" personally. i'm not a trans girl but i am transfem, i plan on getting hormones (its complicated) and transitioning in the way that makes me happy!! whatever femininity i connect to doesnt feel very cis, conventional, or binary, and i think thats okay
admittedly i dont even use she/her .. which ik makes people mad LOL
i get nervous talking about it though. because most people wont take "i was raised and treated like a boy despite being afab" as a reason to feel like your femininity is inherently trans, its real scary and i cant explain that i feel kinda like all of the three broad terms (leaning transfem/transneu, ovi) at least a little
i wish the trans community didn't hate itself so much. i wish we were nicer to people who are weird

Hi, how do I get rid of internalized exorsexism in myself. I myself am AFAB transneu/neutrois, but sometimes I feel like I have to be a boy since I'm not a girl, and sometimes I'll read about a nonbinary person here on tumblr or look at a picture of a nonbinary person and realize I am internally binarizing them. How do I stop thinking this way?
hi!
this isn't actually an advice blog but i'll answer this anyway.
i don't have much personal experience with exorsexism directed at myself, so i can't give much advice on that, but as for binarising other people... don't beat yourself up over it. you sound like you're already aware enough not to do this out loud, which is already an important step. gendering people is very much a learned behaviour and i think i've seen a study somewhere that said that this happens automatically within milliseconds. it takes conscious effort to unlearn this. and to be completely honest with you, i've been out for nearly 7 years and have been thinking about this stuff for just as long and i still struggle with this as well. i highly recommend basically consciously correcting your thoughts when they happen, like when you find yourself calling a nonbinary person a man or using she/her for someone who doesn't in your head, correct yourself and repeat your thoughts with the right pronouns and terms. i find this to help quite a bit, when i compare how i think about people now vs. 4-5 years ago.

general intersex-related questions
hi so i recently had a discussion with my mom, discussing the high likelihood i have pcos and hormonal imbalances seeing as it runs in my family like crazy, and while researching it on my own i found some stuff about how in some cases pcos is considered an intersex identity and some people with it identify as intersex so i just have a couple of questions relating to this discovery seeing as i've never been entirely sure i'm perisex (i believe that's the right term) myself !! i just never had any leads on where to go with it, so now that i do, i'm curious
i'm assigned female at birth and tme (transmisogyny exempt), so if it does turn out that i'm intersex, would i be allowed to identify as transfem? or because i'm afab regardless, i can only identify as transneu or transmasc? (i'm not sure if it ties in to this at all, but while looking at resources i saw that some people with pcos felt as if they weren't "woman enough," which i totally feel at times considering the symptoms of pcos i show)
is it up to you personally whether or not you choose to identify as intersex if you have pcos?
if any of this is at all offensive then please please please let me know! i'm not very educated with this stuff seeing as i'm not close with many intersex people, i try my hardest to be respectful

Quirky pride flags
[Plain text: Quirky pride flags]
These flags are for people who reclaim the idea of "only being (gay/lesbian and/or trans) to be quirky". These people will be happy calling themself 'quirky' and take pride in such. These flags are exclusive to those in the LGBTQ+ community who reclaim the term, if someone does not identify with this, please don't call them "quirky because they're gay", that's disrespectful. ❤️
I didn't know if this existed yet or not, if it already does, these can serve as an alternative flag.
Quirky pride flag (generally for gays/lesbians, etc. I didn't have spoons to make individuals)
Tumblr media
[Flag ID: A flag with eleven horizontal stripes, the colors in order being pastel pink, brown sugar, moss green, ebony clay, stonewall, winter hazel, sandy yellow, wattle, reef gold, dolphin. End ID]
Transfem quirky pride flag (inclusive of afab transfems)
Tumblr media
[Flag ID: A flag with eleven horizontal stripes, the colors in order being classic rose, thulian pink, dark raspberry, thunder, stonewall, winter hazel, sandy yellow, wattle, reef gold, cloudy grey. End ID]
Transmasc quirky pride flag (inclusive of amab transmascs)
Tumblr media
[Flag ID: A flag with eleven horizontal stripes, the colors in order being tropical blue, moody blue, chambray, ebony clay, stonewall, winter hazel, sandy yellow, wattle, reef gold, shuttle grey. End ID]
Transneu quirky pride flag (non-binary, neurogender, could also be xenine, neutrois in some cases, etc)
Tumblr media
[Flag ID: A flag with eleven horizontal stripes, the colors in order being snow flurry, pale olive green, fern green, heavy metal, stonewall, winter hazel, sandy yellow, wattle, reef gold, hazel green. End ID]

btw if you're an AFAB that gets freaky with their gender and like calling yourself transfem i love you so much and you should keep doing it. And if you're an AMAB that gets freaky with their gender and like calling yourself transmasc i love you so much and you should keep doing it. 2 put it simply: if you're trans and your gender is feminine, regardless of what gender was assigned 2 you @ birth, you are always allowed 2 call yourself transfem. The same goes 4 transmascs. And if you disagree, then doesn't that say something about how you think that assigned gender at birth is something you can't change, reclaim, or reshape 2 fit your own personal gender perception? You know, like how trans people very often do? 2 cling on2 the AGAB is inherently transphobic, and so is locking off how some1 feels about, expresses, and labels their gender. If you were born a man but through various hoops and reasonings find that your gender identity is far more complex than just "cisgender man", where your identity isn't just man but you choose manhood rather than accepting it, you can call yourself transmasc. It's okay. Gender freaks i love you, AGAB deniers i love you, transfems and transmascs and transneus and everypony i love you <3 you can do whatever you want 4ever.

i rly didn't want to drag flag discourse onto this acc bc 9 times out of 10 it's stupid and pointless (and also it seems like every queer discourse on this site ends up attracting the worst people on planet earth + being blown out of proportion) but i feel like this is different because it's a genuine problem with the flag in of itself and not with the creator or whatever people get upset with nowadays
i would like to let you all know that these transfem, transmasc, and transneutral flags exclude intersex people
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
if it doesn't click for you immediately i want you to pay attention to the outermost stripes on the flags. interpretation aside it's kind of clear it's painting a picture of strictly afab transmascs, strictly amab transfems, and strictly afab/amab transneus. which... obviously, besides excluding amab transmascs + afab transfems, also excludes intersex trans people of any kind.
i would offer alt flags to use but there are so many i'm sure just a quick google search will show you tons that aren't linked to assigned sex at birth. obligatory "i'm not forcing you to stop using these flags" but it would also be nice to be accepted in a community that barely acknowledges intersex ppl's existence except when they're using them to prove a point in an argument 💛
