I'm aroace, but I'm also aplatonic, and it breaks my heart a little every time someone says that aspec only includes aromanticism and asexuality

same :( aspec includes aplatonics/aplspecs, and not just acespec and arospec, and i very rarely see people including them in aspec stuff!

i have seen many say that aspec also includes agenderspec folks, and i agree, but this blog is only focused on aspec attraction :3

i'm an agender aro(spec?)-ace going to homecoming with an agender aroace friend, my brother is aroace, my aroace friend's mom is just ace, my dad's aro but not ace, i have 2 agenderspec-arospec-ace friends, and i spent an hour on the bus realizing i am surrounded by a lot of aspec. i've heard that people tend to gravitate toward similar people but i didn't realize how true that was until today

Undertale Headcanons

Day 3: Talk about a character you headcanon to be aroacespec and agenderspec

People familiar with Undertale will probably be able to guess who I’m going to be focusing on for this post, but, for anyone who isn’t sure, I’m going to be focusing on the gender-neutral protagonist, Frisk. Thanks to the gender-neutral pronouns and androgynous appearance they have, a fairly popular headcanon is that Frisk is non-binary. Personally, I headcanon Frisk to be agender as well as aroace. The second part of the headcanon is a bit less common in the fandom and can vary depending on the age people see Frisk as and who they are shipped with.

They seem to be a child in canon if the parallels between the stripes and age are anything to go by, making the ‘dates’ that take place in the game… interesting, to say the least. But since both official ‘date’ scenarios involve the other person assuming that Frisk suggesting it first or Frisk actually suggesting it first, it can at least be assumed that Alphys and Papyrus were mainly going along with it to spare Frisk's feelings.

Anyway. I got a bit off track, but I read something which involved the concept of platonic dates, which I very much support the idea of Frisk being fond of. Sure, a lot of people would hear the term “date" and assume it would be a romantic endeavour, but, other than some instances of flirting, none of the actions on either date would solely fit into the romantic category. (Plus the idea of a character being AAA is always fun).

While I’m at it, I would like to talk about another aro-spec character, who has already been mentioned: the Great Papyrus himself. Anyone who's played through his date can probably see where I’m going with this. Though, he's one of the few characters I have split opinions on. Initially I headcanoned him to be quoiromantic and asexual, because he didn’t really understand romantic attraction and the way he tried to push it anyway kind of reminded me of myself when I was questioning. However, I also think he could work well as being gray-aromantic and asexual, considering he still seems to have solid concepts of what platonic and romantic attraction entail and can apply them to his own emotions at times. I think either one works well, though other people may have other ideas too.
