Feet fitted with Louis Vutton boots, you tapped your foot in the passenger seat of Tom’s car. His hand was gripping your leg softly, your own fingers placed over his. You had a matching Tiffany & Co. jewelry set, your Chanel bag sitting in your lap. Your necklace was once your mothers, the part of the set she used to wear before she died. You didn’t want to bury her with it, so you wore both for the two of you. Your Chanel bag was a recent purchase in celebration of completing a large project at work and getting a raise because of it.

You tried not to seem too nervous, but Tom could read you better than any script. He glanced at you, offering a small smile which you returned gratefully. Tom never really brought girlfriends home for his entire family to meet, so you were a bit nervous on leaving a first impression.

After parking in the driveway and ringing the doorbell, you were standing next to Tom’s broad figure, hand intertwined with his. You were greeted by Dominic when you arrived, but you heard Nikki’s voice around the house. With a smile and a handshake, the three of you were making your way out back. Tom said it was an outside lunch date, and because it was nice out for the first time in London’s history, you agreed.

She was setting up the table, and with newfound courage you offered to help. She looked up with a smile but it vanished just as quickly. Yours momentarily faltered but you paid no mind to it. No words were exchanged as you assisted her, and you got the feeling she was purposefully being cold towards you.

When you met up with Tom again, he was just finishing a round of rugby with his brothers. Harry waved when he saw you and you returned it. Tom’s arm wrapped around your middle and he kissed the top of your head with a soft grin.

After a few minutes, lunch was served. Conversation ran smoothly, and the boys made you feel very included in their little yet large family. Nikki stayed silent when you spoke, sipping her beverages and only passing food when she absolutely had to. You made weary eye contact with Tom, but he shrugged it off, reassuring you that everything was fine.

When everyone had eaten to their heart’s desires, Dominic and Tom had decided to clean up the dishes, sending you off with Nikki to watch the rest of the boys play rugby. She was sitting in a patio chair beside your own, your Chanel bag propped on the table next to your lemonade.

“Tom didn’t tell me he was bringing home a gold digger,” she spat out, sipping water. You nearly choked on your lemonade.

“Excuse me?”

She scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Please. You think I don’t see what’s going on here?”

“No…” your brows furrowed. “I don’t know what’s going on. What are you asking me?”

She shrugged innocently. “You don’t have to act like you like my son just because you want a few fancy designer products.”

You gasped, standing up quickly. Your breathing quickened, head feeling heavy as your vision blurred with tears. You tried so hard to be good enough, to live up to standards you didn’t even know of. Before you could run out, however, Tom was coming out, taking long strides with a determined expression.

“What’s going on here?” His hand took the small of your back and for the first time in your relationship, you flinched at his touch, taking a step back and sniffling, looking down to conceal your tears.

“Mum?” He spoke harshly, desperate for any answer or explanation. The sound of the rugby ball being kicked around faded out, and you realized everyone was watching.

“I’m just being realistic, Tom.” His mother smiled a wicked one. “It seems pretty clear why the two of you are dating.”

“Oh yeah?” He glanced at you and then back to his mother. “And why’s that?”

She eyed your boots and then your purse and then your personal necklace, the one you had told Tom about, history and all.

“You think she wants my money?”

“Look, it just seems a bit suspicious.”

“What looks suspicious is you making my girlfriend cry! Of all the people in this family, you were the last person I expected to do this,” He fumed, nostrils flaring, jaw clenching as you stood feet away from him, tears slowing but not stopping.

“She’s covered head-to-toe in designer brands, Tom!” She makes a point at gesturing to you. “And that necklace! God knows the vintage ones are even more expensive.”

You gasp, clasping the small charm in your hands. Tom puts an arm in front of you, halting whatever move you were about to make.

“That was her mothers, if you really cared about knowing, mum.” His expression grew angrier with every passing second. “And she’s a production manager for a very popular fashion designing brand. Which you would know if you took the time to talk to her instead of judging her.” He grabbed your hand, slipping your fingers in between his own as he pulled you away from the patio chairs, helping you maneuver around items and leading you inside protectively.

The backyard stood silent for minutes as Tom brought you into his old childhood bedroom to calm your breathing and stop your tears. You were practically sitting in his lap, mattress small but comfortable. He held your face in his hands, thumbs moving back and forth across your cheeks as new tears fell. He kissed your nose and then your forehead before settling on your lips. You inhaled deeply, grasping him tightly, his shirt scrunched in your hands.

“It’s alright,” he murmured into your ear, delicately kissing your skin. You nodded in his grasp, breath still shaky.

Five minutes passed and you grew quiet, tears subsiding as you sat in Tom’s embrace, holding him close and closing your eyes, imagining you were anywhere but here, imagining it was any day but today.

“I’m… I’m so sorry.” He finally broke the silence. “I didn’t think she’d ever say something like that.”

“She called me a gold digger,” you sniffled. You heard Tom’s breath hitch. “I don’t care as long I have you,” You grip him tighter, seemingly answering the questions floating through his mind. He smiled softly, pulling you into his chest again.

He spoke into your hair, rubbing your back. “I just… I hate that anyone in my family treated you that way.” You nod from within his chest. He sighs. There’s a knock at the door, but neither of you are damned to answer it.

You decide to stay connected to him, wanting him to hold you for as long as possible before you heard any apology his mother could have. Tom didn’t make a move to get up either, and you sighed again, nuzzling your face into his neck, bringing him a little closer and holding your charm a little tighter.

What is the Harry Brother's Relationship with the Peter's and Others?

(Split it into parts, No stress)

They have a pretty good relationships everything considered. I bit scattered, good luck understanding.

Jr and Peter are best friends. The twins, Theo and Harold, Benjamin Anderson and Gwen Stacy are also besties. But the twins are both in love with Benji while he's still confused about his sexuality. He's considering all three of his best friends as future partners but is also afraid of ruining their friendship. Gwen is not sure if her loyalty to those idiots comes from love or her idea of a perfect relationship. She's very confused too. Especially since she has some problems with her dad. They might be in a poly-relationship in the future. They are all just hormonal teens with problems, what can I say.

Ozzie, Thomas and Ned are close. Tom and Ned are best friends, Ozzie is content with being just friends, maybe acquaintances, his trust issue and prejudice are standing in the way of a good relationship with people outside his family. Harry is closer to them, but he doesn't hang out much so. Harry met Ned and Tom on one of his brother's school ceremonies and Michelle Jones later joined them when she changed schools.

Things between Michelle and Jr are strained because of the way Mary Jane treats him and Peter, but he finds the younger sister to be much more bearable. Still, they are not close in any way, they just tolerate and ignore each other.

Miles Morales joins the friend group a lot later when he moves to New York with his father. He is quickly accepted into the group though. Ozzie is the last to warm up to him.

Mary Jane and Flash Thompson are dating like in the original movie. They are the popular kids and the older MJ often gives her (unwanted) advice to the younger MJ. She's not very well liked by Jr and the other brothers don't really care. Harry is the most accepting of her since Michelle is one of his friends and he doesn't like arguments and enemies and all that jazz.

Flash is Flash, his self from practically everywhere before his redemption and Spider-man obsession. Doesn't bother Ozzie and Harry much since he doesn't see them on a daily basis and is afraid (though he wouldn't admit it) of what Jr and the twins would do if he ever bothered them. He bullies only the older brothers and their best friends e.i. Gwen, Peter, Benjamin, and whoever else he deems a nerd. He grows up eventually and apologises though.

So, uhhh, that's the school relationships and friendships. Let's call it part 1?? I was thinking of adding Ursula, but I dunno how I can fit her in. So I guess she's just there????? But like, in a different school????? Dunno... I'll post the other characters soon, probably.

Sorry it took so long to answer. Hope this is enough of an answer for now

An AU where Voldemort never existed (Tom Marvolo Riddle was good) but the Golden Trio still became a thing.

Harry James Potter isn't the boy-who-lived, but he's still quite famous, how? Because he is the son of Lily and James Potter. Harry was a natural in magic, he is gifted and grew up with a loving family leading him through the magic world, because of their support he became an expert.

Harry knew Ronald "Ron" Bilius Weasley before Hogwarts they became an inseparable duo, he also knew Ginevra "Ginny" Molly Weasley, Ron's younger sister. Ginny has a HUGE crush on him, even at a young age, she believed that they will end up together, but that changed when the duo met Hermione Jean Granger. Hermione is a muggleborn witch who was INSANELY gifted at magic, an overachiever though sorry to say the opposite of Ron. The three of them became a trio after the sorting of houses ceremony, all of them getting sorted in Gryffindor.

If Hermione was the Brightest Witch of her age, then Harry was the Brightest Wizard of his age. They were perfect for each other, so when they were 12 years old, they began dating. Ron developed a HUGE crush on Hermione like how Ginny crushes on Harry, that explains how them dating made the two youngest Weasley jealous.

Harry and Hermione's relationship lasted for years, started at 2nd year then ending after their 7th year or after graduating Hogwarts. They realized their relationship started only because they're the Brightest Witch and Wizard of their age, not because they have feelings for each other. They lasted because they liked each other throughout the relationship, but ended when it wasn't going anywhere.

A year after graduation, Ron started dating Hermione, he asked his mate if it's alright considering they've only broken up months ago. Harry confirmed and said it doesn't affect him since their relationship was nothing to him but puppy love, Hermione kind of felt hurt.

Weeks later, Ginny dated Harry, did the same thing as Ron and asked Hermione, Hermione was still her friend even though she felt jealous at their time at Hogwarts. Hermione also confirmed and said the relationship was nothing to her because it felt forced, Harry felt similar to Hermione when he said the same thing about his and her relationship, he felt hurt.

December 1999, Harry and Ginny were having a date at Hogsmeade so they decided to have butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks. Harry missed it there, Ginny did too but Harry was remembering something.. oh right, Hermione. His and Hermione's dates here drinking butterbeer, ahh memories.. He remembers Hermione's favorite drink, Hot Butterbeer it's also his, drinking it while talking and reading, it was good. Harry was still deep in thought when Ginny found them a table, she ordered Frozen Butterbeer, now that's new. He can't imagine ordering frozen butterbeer with this cold weather in Britain especially now it's December, but whatever it's not bad to try different things.

"Harry, you okay?"

When Ginny said that, it interrupted Harry's deep thoughts, he realized he was thinking about Hermione again, even remembering the small things. He quickly snapped out of his thoughts, why would he think about her? She's not even that special anymore.

"Ah yes, no worries." Harry replied finally out of his thoughts.

"Okay.. what do you want?" Ginny asked referring to the menu.

"Hot Butterbeer." Harry replied clearly feeling cold.

"Hm, that's new." Ginny commented like it's uncommon for her to order hot butterbeer.

After ordering, Harry and Ginny talked about their future and stuff while waiting for their drinks. Suddenly, two familiar people entered the pub.

"RON! HERMIONE!!" Ginny squealed walking towards the couple.

"Hiya Sis!" Ron exclaimed.

"Hey Gin!" Hermione squealed.

As they walked closer to Harry and Ginny's table, Ron and Hermione noticed Harry squinting at them.

"Oi mate! I didn't know you and Gin will be having a date here." Ron said.

"Yeah, I didn't know you would too!" Harry replied with a grin on his face.

Harry then noticed Hermione, she looked and felt cold, she was quiet.

"Okay, since the four of us are all in here.. WE GO ON A DOUBLE DATE!"

Thank Merlin Ginny's in here, she always interrupts awkward situations which is a good thing for now.

Hermione finally spoke up since she saw Harry, "That would be a great idea Gin! What should we order?"

"Harry and I already ordered butterbeer just earlier, you two should order now." Ginny replied.

Ron and Hermione took a seat opposite the other couple, with Ron facing Harry and Hermione facing Ginny.

Ron ordered his typical butterbeer, then there's Hermione who ordered of course hot butterbeer. Ron was so touchy of Hermione, you will immediately know their relationship was affectionate. Damn you Weasley, how in the world did their relationship become so intimate with only a few months of being together, Harry could never.

While Harry was eyeing on the other couple, him and Ginny also rested on each others arms acting really close. Then there's Hermione also eyeing on them, Bloody Weasley with only six months of being together they've become so close compare to her and Harry's past relationship that lasted five years and didn't became that intimate, Hermione could never.

The four of them finished their drinks and have done talking, Ron and Hermione wanted to stay so they could eat fish and chips.

Harry and Ginny sent their goodbyes to the other couple then exited the pub. Harry felt relieved, even though he's happy that he met his best mate and had a drink and talk with him, he still felt awkward around Hermione. Him thinking Hermione might have felt the same, he was right.

Ron and Hermione ordered fish and chips after the other couple have left. Hermione felt relieved, with her ex of five years, the best friend of her current boyfriend, and also her best friend in this place (other than Hogwarts) where they made so much memories, it now felt cold.

Now that they're fully alone with their partners, Harry and Hermione kept thinking about each other. No, they don't want each other nor their bodies, they missed the memories. They were so young and innocent but they just didn't realize the relationship will never work out, now their younger selves acting up and feeling jealous of Ron and Ginny. How could Ron/Ginny do that they thought. Let me guess, they're in love they thought again, real love.

Imagine Harry and Hermione did not clearly moved on from the past and memories, they just try to forget it but then they will look at each other's current relationship and think:

I don't want your body but I hate to think about you with that Weasley.

Our love that never truly existed had gone cold, now you're intertwining your soul with that Weasley.

Every time I look through you while you're smiling, it hurts that you're not just with somebody else but with that Weasley.

I wished those memories didn't exist, so that I won't have to feel wistful.

I wished we never dated.

I wished we stayed as best friends.

They could only wish now, there's no turning back.

The only way to get rid of the feeling is to move on.

Move on.

It was just another regular morning when you woke up next to Tom, admiring his freckles and the little adorable snores that left his mouth, but no, you didn't give in, you had to focus on your mission. Getting out of the bed you picked up one of Tom's shirts which was discarded on the floor last night and carefully made your way out of the room, to find out what he's behind and take him down.

Walking down the empty hallways you admired the various paintings and artifacts just lying around, when a certain door caught your eye. There was something about that glossed wooden door that pulled you towards it; the room looked more posh than the hallways which was a given since he had a "company" of his own. Rushing towards the desk drawers you quickly began to search for something, some file, that could be potential evidence against them. You were so engrossed in searching for it you didn't notice someone standing near the doorway.

He caught your attention by clearing his throat, getting up quickly from your squatting position you meet the blue eyes of the man standing, hands across his chest, "Looking for something?" Harrison asked sternly.

"I see your thumb's all better," You retort back avoiding the question. He scoffed, looking at the injury you gave him. "you're pretty bad for a marksmen though, you missed your best friend."

"I wasn't aiming for him, and I know you're trying to avoid the question."

"Maybe," you shrugged, "what are you going to do about it? Tell him? He won't believe you, I have him wrapped around my finger, and you can't do anything about it."

"You think you're so smart-"

"I know I am." You cut him off.

"But just you wait," he laughed, "soon enough he'll realize how you're playing him and we'll take you and the government down." He threatened.

"Ooo I'm scared." You say blankly. Harrison knows what he's doing and he knows that you've gone soft for his best friend, he just needed some more time to execute his plan.

Tom spending more time with you resulted in loosing is focus and responsibility to the mob, It was yet another afternoon when he came back after a date with you.

"Where the hell have you been?" Harry yelled at his older brother who just entered, "I've been calling you for hours!"

"Okay calm down dad," Tom smirked, "What's wrong? You seem tense."

"Come on." He said leading him into his office where Harrison and Sam were already seated.

"It's about fucking time you showed up!" Sam barked.

"Ok what is up with you people why are y'all mad at me?" Tom asked as he took his seat in front of them.

"Here," Harry said as he shoved a file in his hands. Opening the file, the first thing he saw was your beautiful face and then read the paper attached with it, Y/n L/n aka Jane Bond aka 007 . His eyes went wide and then he looked at the three boys sitting in front of him, and then he turned to Harrison who was giving him a 'I told you so' look.

"Well what do we do?" Harry interjected.

"I have a plan," Harrison said getting everyone's attention,"but lover boy here must agree." He said as he stared at Tom's panic stricken face.

"So what do you think?" Harrison asked everyone in the room as he elaborated his plan.

"Honestly, I think its great! Tom?" Harry quipped. Tom was sitting back in his chair still thinking if it was the right decision.

"So lemme get this straight," he began as he sat up straight,"you want me to get closer to her, make her fall in love with me and then take her and the government down before they take us down?"

"Precisely!"

"Looks like that's what we're gonna do." He sighed, but deep down he didn't want to show the boys that he's already in love with you and is scared of hurting you; he still wanted to prove he was tough and doesn't go soft for the most beautiful girl he's ever seen.

"So 007, what do we know so far?" M asked.

"Well we know that on the night of the gala, Harrison wasn't there to take Tom down but he's coming for me."

'What is he playing at?' M thought to herself, "007, we need new information and we need them fast!" M ordered. You, Moneypenny and Q exit M's office, when Moneypenny pulls you aside to talk to you,"Y/n, I need to ask you something, but you have to answer truthfully," You nodded, "are you falling for him?" You didn't say anything, instead you hung your head.

"Is that why you've been so distracted? This is not professional 007, you could be in trouble."

"I know that, but its just that," you sighed,"I can't get him out of my head, and yeah its unprofessional, but he's different."

"Yes, because he's England's biggest mobster!"

"His job doesn't define him, he's really nice." You admit. It was true what Moneypenny asked, but you weren't just falling for him, you were head over heals for him now and was he. The two of you thought the other was faking it so neither of you wanted to admit how you really felt, for Tom it was the fear of his best friend where as for you it was M.

"Now where are you going?" Harrison asked, exasperated.

"Calm down I'm just going doing what you asked me to do." Tom answered.

"Well just try to be a little quieter when you two get back." He winked at his best friend, as his eyes went wide and cheeks red in embarrassment.

"Guys, I'm worried, she hasn't texted me back" Harrison says to the guys, who were too engrossed in the game of fifa to pay him any attention. "Guys, GUYS? Help a bro out here would you?" Haz yells, finally getting the attention of the guys in front of him.

Harry finally pauses the game "Haz, it's not like we don't want to help you, but what do you want us to do man? You didn't give us any details about the date, how it went. Give us something" Haz rolls his eyes at the guy's obvious attempt on fishing for details.

"Hang on; what are we talking about here?" Connor asks, seemingly obvious.

"Our dear Harrison here went on a date on Thursday night. And now he is panicking because the girl is not receiving his calls or replying to his texts." Tom explains the entire matter with a flourish.

"Maybe she doesn't like you; maybe she didn't like the date?" Connor offers the solutions.

Harry snickers at the suggestions. Harrison shoots the guy death glare. "It's not that. If she didn't like me, she wouldn't have gone on four dates with me, and she is the one who planned the last date and it went smoothly. And she was replying to all my texts, and I even talked to her on the phone Friday night. But from Saturday morning, nothing. She is completely off the grid. What should I do?"

"Go to her house then! See if something is wrong." Haz had to admit that he too had thought of what Connor suggested. But it still seemed too soon for that.

"Alright, you know what?" Tom got up and took Haz's phone from him, "You're over thinking this. Just forget about it, play a game of fifa with us, and then we will see what happens. Just chill man" taking his advice Haz follows him to the couch.

After three games of fifa, he finally remembers his earlier dilemma about the calls and texts. "Tom, give me my phone." Taking back his phone he checks for texts, but he finds a voice mail.

"Hey Harrison," you say, "I'm so sorry that I didn't receive your calls or reply to your texts. I just have a fever and headache and cold so I was pretty out of it and didn't check my phone. I swear I'm not ignoring you, I was just sick so yeah, sorry."

Hearing the voice mail was enough for him to put on his jacket and go out to the car, simultaneously dialling your number.

"Hey," you receive his call, feeling a little relieved that he didn't decide on just moving on.

"Hey, are you okay? What happened? How did you get a cold?" he sounded worried.

"I guess I just ate too much ice crème. So I got a cold, and cold invited its two friends, fever and headache." You laugh, trying to lighten the situation, and making sure that he doesn't hear how ill you felt from your voice.

"Okay, I'm coming over" you could hear the car in the background. "No you're absolutely not coming over" you all but yell into your phone. Not only you felt ill, but you looked horrible, your flat was a mess, and you definitely did not want him to come to your flat for the first time and see it messy "Really Haz I can handle it. My fever is down and I don't really have that much of a headache, you don't need to come over" you plead.

"Too late, I'm already at the medicine store; I'll pick up a few things and come over." He says in a determined voice. Realizing it's no use trying to talk him out of it you give up "Spare key is under the doormat, let yourself in."

"I'll be there in thirty minutes. See you" you hear the line go dead. You wanted to clean up the mess a little and make yourself presentable, but you couldn't, killer headache and tiredness from being so sick made you want to curl up in a ball, so that's what you did, not even realizing that you were about to fall asleep.

"Hey babe, wake up."

You wake to someone slowly calling your name. Opening your eyes, you stare at the blue ones staring right at you. You groan and shove your face deeper into the pillows, "Not so close Haz, you'll fall sick too."

Chuckling to himself, he helps you sit up, your entire body protesting against the action. "Here, I got you soup, just eat it and then you have to take your meds, then you can sleep again." Harrison directs you.

"You really didn't have to come over you know." You say, taking the bowl from his hands.

"If I hadn't come over, then I wouldn't know that all the medicine you took was a few Advil. I'd also not know that you were burning up. Because you wouldn't tell me." He picks up some stray clothes from your bedroom floor and puts them away. "You could've called me when you felt ill you know." He says, taking a seat right beside you on the bed. You say nothing, choosing to look into the depths of the soup bowl, as if it contained the secrets of universe. "Why didn't you call me?"

Taking a deep breath you begin "well, the reason is three fold, you sure you want to hear?" you ask, hoping that he'll say no, but of course, when do you ever get what you want.

"Yes, I want to hear them."

"Alright, well, firstly, um, sometimes when I fall sick, I completely go out of it, like stay unconscious for day, or day and a half, before coming back again. But only sometimes, not all the time." You add quickly, seeing him getting more worried. "It only happens once in a blue moon." You try to assure him. "Secondly, and it is kind of a problem with me, I just don't like asking for help." You peek at him, scared now that you were revealing a part of yourself to him. "I just want to do things by myself, and it has backfired on me more than once, but I am too stubborn to learn my lessons, so yea, that's why."

"And the third reason?"

"It's just, we have only been on four dates." You start mumbling, hoping he would not catch it, "And I just didn't think I could call you on such a small thing, you know, I just didn't think we were there yet." You squirm around a bit, sensing his intense stare.

He lets out a deep sigh. "I don't even know where to begin." Hearing this, your shoulders slump down.

"I know, I'm just weird. You can leave if you want to." You say, even though you didn't really want him to leave.

"Don't be stupid. I don't want to leave. Just, what if it was more serious?" he asks, "What if it was something really serious and you needed to be admitted to hospital, only you wouldn't be, cause you didn't tell me that you were coming down with cold, before it got serious? Did you even think of that? His voice a mixture of anger and exasperation, making you feel guilty, but at the same time, a bit warm and fuzzy on the inside.

"Second of all, I don't know what to tell you, but you can always ask for help. It does not make you weak. You can always reach out to people and ask for help, you don't have to do everything all by yourself." He says, trying to sooth you. "And about the third reason, well, we have to start getting there some time don't we? So why not now?" he finishes, taking the now empty bowl from your hand and taking it to the kitchen. Coming back he hands you your meds, "Here you go," handing you a glass of water, "Take your meds, go to sleep, and get better soon. Otherwise I can't take you to that fifth date." He smiles cheekily at you. You couldn't help but let out a laugh at him flirting with you even when you felt like death. You take the meds and go to sleep, hearing Haz hum you a song under his breath. Right before you slipped into sleepy unconsciousness, you ask him, "Would you be here when I wake up?"

"Of course love, I'm not leaving. I'll be here."

A/N: Chapter two is here. Tensed situation arising between our ex lovers. Hope you like it. Feedbacks and suggestions are always welcome.

Summary : It's been more than five years since you and Tom have gone their own ways after a heartbreaking breakup which had left both of you shattered. Both of you thought that you were finally over with each other and were happy in your respective lives until you meet again at a reunion trip planned by your best friend and you realise you are still not done with each other.

You leaned on Tom's shoulder as he drove the car. Your hot breath falling on his neck as you start kissing his sweet spot behind his ears as he lets out a soft moan. Your hand intertwining with his free hand resting on his thigh. "Stop it love" Tom mumbled softly.

"Tom" you said softly "Tom!" This time you called his name loudly and Tom suddenly broke out of his trance and was brought to reality it wasn't you but it was his beloved fiancee Eleanor . She straightened herself to look at him with concerned eyes "is anything wrong Tommy?"

"No love everything is fine" he reassured her

His attention went to the song playing. He frowned and said "just this song irks me, not a fan actually of such kind of songs."

"Seriously Tom, how can you not be a fan of Y/N, her songs are too good." El started gushing over you.

"Yeah I know you are a huge fan of hers but I prefer old school hip hop." Lies.

He was your biggest fan since childhood though he doesn't admit it now but he is very proud of you. Seeing you grow into such a big star makes him admire you more. After so many years he still adores you and your songs. He was nervous to meet you and be in close proximity to you for so many days. Yes he still had feelings for you and that is why your songs wreaked havoc in his mind making him feel your presence even if you were far away from his life. He sometimes feels guilty that he isn't being true to El as soon she is going to be his wife and you still reside in his heart. He can never love anyone as he did to you. El was a very humble, sweet, understanding and smart person whom he got to know through one of his friends. Soon both of them found they had a lot in common, small chats turned into dates and then to a full fledged relationship for 2 years. Dom and Nikki approved their relationship and wanted their son to settle down and finally see him happy. Tom wasn't much excited about the wedding so all the planning he left on El.

It was around noon when you three finally arrived at the beach house. You were filled with nostalgia as you had lots of fond memories connected with this place. There were a total of 5 bedrooms in the house. 2 were reserved for the couples, one for Tom and another for Harrison's other two friends Ed and Chloe, the others had to share. You liked the sea facing rooms and there were only two on the first floor. You immediately ran upstairs. You suddenly stopped in front of the first room and glanced at the empty room which once belonged to only you.

Sounds of laughter "Tom stop.. Please oh I can't breathe" you said giggling as Tom tickled you even more. You both laid on the bed and laughed. You took out your phone to take a selfie to capture this moment. Tom kissed your cheek as you clicked the photo. You threw the phone on the bed and climbed on top of him straddling him around the waist as you planted soft kisses on his forehead, his cheeks and lips. You sat back to admire him " I love you so much Tommy" . He rolled you over to be on top of you

" Love you too princess." As he connected his lips onto yours.

You brushed aside your thoughts as you went to the adjacent room and placed your luggage on the floor. Zendaya came with her luggage afterwards. It was a nice room with a queen sized bed and thankfully an attached bathroom.

"You don't snore right?" Zendaya chuckled

"Don't know about snoring but I do kick in my sleep." You laughed.

"Okay let's freshen up first then we can start unpacking our things." Z said

"Yeah you go first I need to make a call to my second mom." you chuckled.

You had three missed calls from Alex which left you wondering what was the matter. You put your airpods on and called him. You came out of the room as you started strolling in the corridor.

"Seriously you don't trust me do you? I have barely spent a day here and you have already called me three times."

"It was important the company wants you to do a concert at the beach carnival there."

"What! Dude I'm on a vacation and they expect me to do a concert."

"Yeah it will be nice for the promotion, kind of a tour actually and I think it's good only for you to keep you distracted from, you know what I mean"

"I don't know I need time to think"

"There is nothing to think the concert is on the last day of your stay so you will get to enjoy your vacation as well as do a little interaction with your fans good for your rep."

"Still I need to think Alex . I have to go for rehearsals then I need to know the whole schedule of the event. It's a lot of work."

"I'll handle those things and get you in touch with the event manager, don't worry."

You were walking backwards through the corridor as you were talking, you suddenly bumped into a solid sturdy figure, you lost your balance letting out a light shriek as you thought you were about to fall, instead you felt two strong arms catch hold of you, one hand on your back and one wrapped around your waist. You fluttered opened your eyes and your eyes were met with those familiar hazel brown eyes and loose brown curls falling over his face. Tom looked at you with concerned eyes; he himself couldn't stop admiring you. This is the closest he has come to you in the past few years. Your familiar lavender scent was intoxicating for him, he also noticed that your hair is longer than before which made you look more beautiful. You two were so lost in the moment that the whole world hazed out for you. Both felt a warm feeling inside.

But you were brought to reality as Alex started talking.

"Y/N are you there? what happened?"

You pulled away from Tom's hold as you stood straight and stuttered

"yea…Yeah I'm fine can I…Can I talk to you later? I'll think and tell you okay"

"Okay honey bye take care love you"

"Yeah bye love you too Alex"

As you turned back to Tom you both blurted out "I'm sorry"

"No no it was totally my fault I wasn't looking where I was going" you said eagerly.

"It's okay" Tom said

You purse your lips and smiled as you were about to turn to go to your room he spoke again

"By the way Hi! meeting you after a long time."

You sheepishly looked at him "yeah Hi"

"So how have you been?"

You were a little taken aback by his warm gesture because he had almost stopped talking to you after the whole breakup "I'm fine, how are you?"

"I'm fine too" . Tom was about to say something but you were interrupted by a loud shriek

"Oh My God!!! I can't believe this Y/N Y/L/N" excitement in her voice. "I'm such a huge fan of yours." She pulled you in a tight hug you didn't get the time to process what was happening as you looked wide eyed first to Tom and then to the girl.

"Oh sorry Hi I'm Eleanor you can call me El I'm Tom's fiance nice to meet you." Your eyes immediately went to the big shining rock adorning her ring finger. A tinge of jealousy creeping inside you.

"Hey! nice to meet to you too"

She turned towards Tom and asked "you guys know her ? Why didn't you ever tell me?"

Tom fumbled at his words "umm.. Yeah we have been together since childhood." He looked at you as he continued speaking "then she left and we lost touch" the last line was obviously directed to you.

"Uh ah correction it was you who lost contact because I was always in touch with the boys. By the way where are they? Can't wait to meet them."

"They will be here in any second I guess" El said

"I can't believe you know each other since childhood, he always says that he doesn't like your songs"

"Oh does he?" you looked at him quirking your eyebrow

"No I didn't say that I don't like her songs I just said it's not my type"

"Yeah yeah I know you're an old grandpa you prefer old school stuff." you said sarcastically

"You are coming to our wedding right?" El asked

You looked at Tom "umm I don't think I'm invited besides I may not have time to attend it. When is it by the way?"

"Next year in March"

"Great!! Wish you both a happy married life."

"Uh ah.. I'm not accepting your bland wishes. You are invited to our wedding and you have to sing at our reception."

"I would love to honey maybe I'll compose something specially for you guys but I don't think your husband will like that as he hates my songs" you looked at Tom

"Oh leave Tom anyways he has given me all the responsibility of planning the wedding so you are coming and that's final."

"Okay dear as you wish" you placed a hand on her cheek and smiled.

" Let's take a selfie. I really want to capture this moment," El insisted. You stood in the middle one hand on Tom's shoulder and the other on El's. You all smiled as she clicked the picture.

Suddenly there was a lot of noise of people laughing and shouting and you immediately ran down the stairs. There stood Harry, Sam, Paddy, Tuwaine in the middle of the living room. As they saw you they ran towards you and circled around you for a giant hug.

"Hey!! Y/N missed you so much so happy to see you again"

"Me too guys"

"We are going to have lots of fun this time gonna do everything we used to do when we were kids." Paddy said beaming with joy.

You smiled and you all hugged again. Your eyes went up the stairs to find Tom staring at you. You looked away as you started chatting with them. Jacob, Ed and Chloe also came in later.

Zendaya and Harrison were sitting on the couch as you kept pacing the room

"Seriously Y/N it isn't a big deal. It was just an accident stop stressing out about it."

"It is serious for me Z . The first day on my trip I fell into my ex's arms and had a moment don't know about him but it was definitely a moment for me. And then there is his fiance who is such a sweet and humble person who doesn't have any clue of what relation I share with her husband.Why did I give into your plan God only knows uggh!!!" You sat between them on the couch holding your head.

Harrison wrapped his hands around your shoulders and tried to comfort you.

"I know it's a bit weird for you to be around El due to your past with him but please for my sake try to tolerate just for 10 days."

"You have vodka right?" you asked

"Uh yeah why?" Haz looked at you confused

"I'm exclusively reserving it for me because I'm gonna need it for the next 10 days if I have to stay here." You smirked

"Tom, are we there yet can I open my eyes?"

"Patience love patience" Tom said, covering your eyes as he led you towards the beach.

It was your 16th birthday and your families had decided to celebrate on the beach house. Tom had told you that he has a surprise planned for you and you were growing impatient to know what it is. You both finally reached the spot Tom removed his hand from your eyes and you slowly opened your eyes as you saw the sea in front of you, waves thrashing on the shore. You looked around to see that he had decorated candles around you in the shape of a heart.

"Seriously this is your surprise?" you asked him confused.

"No love, the best part is yet to come."

He kneeled on his right leg as he took out a box from his pocket. He opened it to reveal a sparkling ring. He took it in his hand. He took your left hand and slid it in your ring finger and said

"Y/N Y/L/N will you be my girlfriend forever?

I liked you since childhood but didn't have the courage to say because I thought you were just a passing crush and you are my best friend and didn't want to ruin our friendship. But now I know that I feel happy when you are around, I like to spend time with you, that I love you. You don't have to say yes but I really wanted to say this to you.

Your eyes were filled with tears, you bent down and kissed him to stop him from talking anymore .Tom gets a little shocked at your sudden act but then he kisses you back. You pull back after sometime as you cup his face with your hands.

"I liked you too Tommy and yes I will be your girlfriend for lifetime.

You looked at the ring to admire it.

"I know this isn't a real diamond because I can't afford a real one right now" Tom said scratching his head

"Your love is worth more than a thousand diamonds." you said as you kissed him again

You were standing at the porch leaning on a pillar as you sipped into your cola can. You looked at the ring on your finger that Tom gave you. Out of habit you used to wear it everyday but now it's time to let go of it you thought.

"So you finally had the courage to come here." Tom said grinning.

What?! You frowned

You previously thought maybe he's over it and now you two can be on good terms but you were wrong as here he is in front of you again being all cocky.

"I mean after all these years you finally came here"

"Firstly, this is my best friend's 30th birthday so couldn't afford to miss it. Secondly stop prioritizing yourself Tom, not everybody's lives revolve around you, not mine, at least" you scoffed

"Yeah because your life's current priority is Alex right?"

Was he jealous after he heard you talking to Alex you thought in your mind.

"What? Seriously Tom" you smiled and shook your head. He is my manager and he's like an elder brother, a mentor to me. Why even am I clarifying to you? You don't owe me anything so just leave if you don't have anything else to say."

"I just came to say that stay away from El. She is my fiance."

"Yeah I know she is your fiance you posted it on Instagram dufus. I even congratulated you and I had expected a thank you from your side but never mind. "

It was three months ago you were at your LA residence enjoying an off day. You were scrolling through your Instagram. When you saw the post with the caption she said yes❤️💍. Even after your breakup you guys followed each other to avoid any kind of gossip by the tabloids. You both were very private person so you never went official with your relationship but there were rumours of you two being together which eventually died down. For the first few minutes you didn't know how to react to the whole thing. The life you once imagined for yourselves he is living it but you are no more in it. Your eyes welled up but you overcame your emotions and felt happy that at least one of you is finally going to be happy in life. You liked the picture and commented congratulations🎊❤️❤️❤️.

"And I also know that she doesn't know about me. Why didn't you tell her about me? Scared of the feelings you still have for me huh?" You smirked

"Just shut up Y/N. I hate you and that's never gonna change. And you are not gonna tell her anything okay!"

"But I love you Tommy." You grinned

Tom scoffed, rolling his eyes and frustrated he started to walk away.

You called him back "Oi!! Don't worry I'm not gonna tell her anything but I'll still advise you to go and tell her. It will be better and less awkward if she gets to know it from you rather than from anyone else. Trust is the foundation of a relationship, don't break it."

"Look who is talking about trust and relationships. It's our matter, we can handle it, don't need your advice."

"Okay cool" you gave a thumbs up

You really felt exhausted after the whole conversation putting up a no care attitude was really hard as you were totally bothered by the whole ordeal.

After you and Zendaya finished unpacking your stuff she was exhausted and so decided to get some rest. You on the other hand decided to go for a stroll near the cliff. It was one of your favorite places to go. That place gave you peace and tranquility. You slid your sling bag around your shoulder and put your lyrics notebook inside it. You used to always carry that everywhere whenever you get an idea you note it down in it. You walked along the seashore feeling the cool sea breeze all over your body. You reached the cliff and took a deep breath standing on the edge. You looked over the sea the sun was setting with a golden and orange hue spread across the horizon. It was enchanting. Suddenly some ideas started coming in your head so you took out your notebook and started scribbling on it.

"What'cha writing?" You were startled by the question you looked back to see Tom climbing the cliff towards you

"What came to push me down the cliff?" You asked sarcastically

He rolled his eyes "no seriously what are you writing?"

"It's none of your business "

"Come on you can tell me about your new song"

"I can but first tell me what happens in Avengers 5?"

Tom shook his head and laughed

"What?! I'm serious I really can't wait for the movie. Are you bringing back Tony Stark or not. I still cry watching endgame."

"Marvel still doesn't trust me so can't say" he laughed as he took a deep breath and said "I really like this place".

"Yeah me too"

"I'm really happy that you came Y/N everyone missed you for the past years"

"And what about you?"

"Yeah I also did a little." You both smiled.

You are still confused at what Tom is trying to do. A few moments ago he was being all so mean and rude to you that you were almost about to have a breakdown and now he is here telling you that he missed you. What game are you trying to play with my mind Holland you thought.

You were looking away as Tom stole a glance of you. He really felt guilty, he wanted to apologize for his behavior but showing his anger towards you he thought was the only way to stay far from you. He had a lot of things to say to you but didn't know how to say he missed the time when he could say you everything without any hesitation but now things seemed very complicated for both of you.

"By the way you look beautiful with long hair. It suits you. "

You felt a warmth rising in your cheeks as you blushed. You tucked in the stray hair strands flying in the sea breeze behind your ear.

"Umm thanks you look handsome too as always." You smiled awkwardly

Both looked at each other for a moment then you broke the silence "umm okay then I think I should get going see you around"

"Yeah sure" Tom nodded

You turned to go as Tom called you "Y/N! I'm really happy for you. I really am."

You turned and smiled softly "the feeling is mutual Holland".

Pairing: Tom Holland x Reader

Word count: ~3.6k

Summary: Will Harrison's engagement party solve things between Y/N and Tom?

Warnings: N-O-T-H-I-N-G!

A/N: PART 3 IS HERE!!! after struggling a lot I finally did it. Part of this was inspired by the engagement scene in 'set it up' also know as my favorite rom-com ever so think about that vibe! I hope you guys like it. I really liked.

Three months ago, at 3 am, Tom stood in your kitchen and said the words you wished for months to hear from him. And yet, you felt your entire chest hurt, and you couldn't look at him. You sent him home, and since then, you didn't see him again. But now, the inevitable was coming. Anna and Harrison's engagement party is in one day. You're the maid of honor, and Tom is the best man. Anna asked you if you would be okay seeing him again and, to be honest, you don't know, but it’s her engagement party. You won't deny the presence of her fianceé's best friend and best man.

"Ready for the party?" Anna asked while you two looked at some dresses in some store.

The party would be something small, just family and friends, in Tom's backyard. You wanted to help, but going to Tom's house, knowing he would be there, wasn't in your plans.

"Yeah! I'm so happy for you. And Harrison. Since your first date, I knew you two would get married," you said with a smile. "I remember I said I would be a shitty maid of honor," you said with a laugh. "And Tom said he would be a great best man," your smile faded a little when you thought about Tom.

"Did you talk to him?" Anna asked, already knowing the answer.

"No," you said simply.

"Harrison said he's feeling better, but still misses you," Anna said with a weak voice.

You cleared your throat. "I miss him too," you said almost in a whisper.

"Why don't you talk to him?" she asked.

"I don't know. Things got pretty bad between us. I'm still sad with him, and I'm sure he is sad with me too," you said, and the sadness in your voice was almost palpable.

"I'm sure he forgave you. And I think you already forgave him. You're just afraid," she said.

"Maybe. Let's see how mad I'll be when I see him tomorrow," you chuckled, but your voice was still sad. "D-do you...hum...do know what happened...to the girl?

"Oh, please! He ended things with her the morning after your fight, and never saw her again," Anna said.

"What you think of these?" you asked, putting a black floral dress in front of you, and changing the subject to hide how happy that information made you.

"Loved," she said animatedly.

"I'll try it," you said, going into the dressing room.

You didn't wanna think about Tom and all the situation now, but the talk with Anna got stuck into your head. 'He still misses you'. Her voice was louder and clearer than when you talked. You decided to buy the black dress for Anna's party. Thank God she chose a very casual party, so you could go with comfortable clothes.

"I see you tomorrow," Anna said goodbye, leaving you in front of your building.

You got into your apartment, still thinking about your talk with her. You missed Tom, more than anything in your life, but every time you thought about those pictures, and the fact that he did all that even though he liked you, you felt a strange and bitter feeling in your stomach. All you wanted was to talk to him and solve things, but you felt so afraid of what he would do and what he was willing to do to make things better.

You used the rest of your night writing some essays you had to finish this week and watching some comedy on TV.

'Hey. How are you? I just wanna say that I can't wait to see you tomorrow. And I want you to know that I'm cool if you decide not to talk with me. I just want you to be okay 🙂' Tom's message took your attention away from the TV. You stared at the text, not knowing what to say. Of course, you wanted to see him, but talk to him would be the best thing? You really didn't know.

'Hi. I'm great. And you? I'm okay talking to you tomorrow,' you typed, throwing the phone on the other side of the couch like it was a bomb ready to explode. "Fuck!" you said, noticing the smile that appeared in your face.

'I'm good. That's good. I miss talking to you. How crazy it is that our friends are getting married?!@#$' The bleep from your phone made you smile again, and you reached for it, reading his text.

'Crazy as shit! We're not old enough for this,' you ignored the first half of the text on purpose. You missed him, but you weren't ready to let him know that yet.

'I keep saying this to Harrison, but he doesn't listen to me lol. But they love each other very much. Harrison showed me his speech, and I cried like a baby,' he said, and you laughed, remembering how easy it was for him to cry. He had a playlist just for that.

'Well, It's not that hard to make you cry lol. I chose not to hear Anna's speech. I wanted to be a surprise,' you confessed. She told you it would be very emotional, so you decided to enjoy with everyone else at the party.

'I don't cry that easily. I didn't even cry in my last movie,' he said, and you remembered you didn't watch the movie with him because the release happened when you were not talking.

'Congratulations on the movie, btw. I heard it's very good,' you said, confessing you didn't watch it. The real reason for you not to watch you weren't confessing. You didn't wanna hear see him or hear his voice. It was too painful.

'You didn't watch it yet? 😱' he asked, and you could see the shocked and offended look on his face.

'I'm sorry. I didn't have time,' you lied.

'We need to change this! This is unacceptable!' he said, and you wanted to invite him over to solve things once and for all. You wanted to sit in front of the TV, with Tom by your side, like you always did, and watch as many movies as possible.

'I'm going to bed now. See you tomorrow at the party,' you cut him off before he could ask anything else, and Tom noticed that. Because in one minute he was smiling at his cellphone, just about to ask you to watch a movie with him, and now he was staring at your last text, questioning everything he could've said or done to make things different.

"Hey, mate. Are you okay?" Harry asked, entering the TV room, and seeing his brother with a weird face, ignoring the TV.

"Yeah. Just...talked to Y/N," he said, pointing at his phone.

"Really? How did it go?" Harry asked, genuinely interested. He saw his brother whining and moping around the house for the last three months. After the pictures got released, Tom freaked out. He had to go to therapy, you stopped coming to their house, and he wasn't that cheerful guy anymore. Now, he was in a good place. Not like before, but he was getting there. And talk to you was the last step to make everything go back to normal.

"It was going back to normal, but then she shut me down. Not aggressively. She just didn't give me the opportunity to make things as normal as before," he said.

"Oh! I'm sorry, man. But that is better than nothing, right?" Harry shrugged. "And you are seeing her tomorrow. Who knows what can happen?" he smiled, and his brother did the same.

To say that this night was hard was an understatement. Tom couldn't sleep. He scrolled through his entire timeline on Instagram, watched a movie, then another one, ate, played video game, and when there was nothing else to do, he decided that 5am was a good time to go to the gym. But not even that helped him relax. He could feel every fiber in his body suffering from anxiety. Tea with his mom after lunch was the only thing that kept his mind calm for a few hours. After that, he went home to get ready for the party.

There was no set of clothes in his closet that worked. Nothing was good enough. "Hey..." Anna called him from the door. "Want some help?" she offered.

"No. I know you have other things to do. I don't wanna bother you," he said with a smile.

"Not a chance. Everything is settled and I'm ready. Harrison is the one taking forever," she rolled her eyes. "I can help you," she said, getting into his room, and sitting in his bed. "What are your choices?" she asked.

"I don't have any," he scratched his neck, a little embarrassed.

"I think I know what to do," she said, getting up and going through his closet. "It will be simple..." she said, picking up a black pair of jeans and throwing at him. "But very cute..." she picked a black shirt.

"How can a black shirt with a black pair of jeans be cute?" he asked, looking at the clothes she gave him.

"Please..." she rolled her eyes. "You'll look cute," she picked a black cardigan, that he rarely used, and gave it to him. "And will match with the maid of honor, cause she's wearing black too," she finally gave him a white sneaker and a pair of glasses that he liked to use as a fashion statement.

"I'll match the maid of honor?" he asked, biting his bottom lip, trying not to smile.

"Perfectly!" Anna said with a happy smile.

Tom looked at the ground. "I talked to her yesterday," he said, putting the clothes on the bed before Anna could leave.

"And?" Anna said expectantly.

"I was just telling her she didn't need to talk to me today if she didn't want to. But, she said she was okay talking to me," his shrug was trying to sound like he didn't care, but his smile was showing the truth.

"I think you two will work things out," Anna said with a smile, leaning in the doorway.

"I hope so. I miss her so much, it's physically painful sometimes," he confessed with a sad voice.

"I know. I'm rooting for you," Anna said, going to him, and giving him a hug.

"Thanks," he said, and she smiled, leaving him alone.

Soon, the house was getting crowded. The backyard was decorated with fairy lights and wooden furniture. The waiters and waitresses walked around the house, serving beer and pizza.

Tom tried to distract himself, talking to as many people as he could. His mom, dad, and brothers were there since they were practically Harrison's family. His mom was feeling his son's anxiety.

"Are you okay?" she whispered to him.

"Great," he said, but his voice sounded anxious. He kept moving his weight from one foot to another. "She'll be here soon," he said.

"I know. And you'll let her be. Otherwise, you'll scare her," she said.

"Yeah...sure," he agreed. He glanced at the door as he did at least fifty times in the last hour, and for his surprise, this time you were there, taking off your jacket, revealing the black floral dress Anna said you would wear. And you two were matching. Tom's smile grew wilder unconsciously. You talked to some guests that were inside the house and then went outside, joining Anna and Harrison. You looked like an angel. Tom couldn't believe he survived all this time away from you. You looked at him for a second, and he saw Anna whispering something to you. You smiled, widely, and Tom felt like he had won the night.

You walked toward him, going to talk to his family. You didn't see Nikki for so long. You missed drinking tea with her, talking about your life, asking for advice.

"Hey, Ms. Holland," you greeted her.

"Hi, sweetie. Long time, no see,' she said, hugging you.

"Yeah. I was...busy," you said, looking at Tom for a split second and then to her again.

"I imagined. How is everything going? College. Work. Life?" she asked.

"Pretty much the same. I meant to call you a few times in the last months, but I didn't wanna bother you," you said sincerely. You really thought about calling and talking to her.

"Don't be silly. I would've loved talking to you," she said with a kind smile. "Let's have lunch this week. What do you think?"

"I would like that very much," you said, relieved that she didn't hate you after all the drama.

"Dom, look who is here," she said, calling her husband's attention. He said goodbye to the person he was talking to, engaging in conversation with you two. Sometimes your eyes met Tom's, and he noticed a sparkle in them every time you did. He didn't say anything while you were talking to his parents. He didn't want to upset you. "If you excuse us, darling, we're gonna talk to some friends," Nikki said, caressing your arm.

"Sure, go ahead," you said with a smile. They left, and it was just you and Tom.

"Hi," he said softly, trying to contain his excitement.

"Hey," you said, scratching the label of the bottle you were holding, anxiously.

"You look really good," he said, drinking a sip of his beer after.

"Thanks. You too," you were avoiding his eyes.

"Anna helped me choose this," he pointed to his clothes.

"It looks good," you smiled, finally looking in his eyes.

Tom couldn't hold it anymore. His mind wanted to keep it cool, but his mouth was faster. "I miss you. Everyday," he said. You looked at him, and all your worries were dead. All you could think was how much you missed him and how much you wanted him back in your life.

"I..." you started.

"Okay, everyone...it's toast time," Anna said clinking her glass with a fork. You and Tom looked at each other. Tom was afraid he had ruined his only chance. You were sad cause you couldn't tell him you missed him too.

"I'll go first," Harrison said, and some people cheered. "So...Anna. What can I talk about Anna?" he joked. "I'm kidding. I'll just say that the first time Y/N brought you around," he looked at you, raising his bottle, and you smiled. "That day, I knew I would marry you. I didn't say anything cause we were all friends, and I didn't want to scare you. But then, we were watching England's game at the 2018 World Cup, and when we lost, you cried. At that moment, I knew I had do something to make you mine, cause we were made for each other. Two months later I asked you out, and we started dating. Now I'm happy to say that we're gonna cry over the English team together, forever," he said the last part, looking at her. Everyone around cheered and applauded them and Anna gave him a quick kiss.

"Okay, now it's my turn," Anna said, taking a step forward. She was a showoff. "Are you ready to cry?" she asked, looking at him, and he smiled, nodding. I thought I would never find someone that I loved enough to ignore their flaws and accept spending my life with them. Unlike from you, when we first met, I thought great eyes, great body," she laughed, looking at him. "We could be friends. I mean, Tom and Y/N were always together. It wasn't like we could ignore each other," she said, and you and Tom looked at each other. A bit of sadness in your eyes, thinking about how that part wasn't true anymore. "But then, I got to meet you better, I started to see your flaws, and yet, dislike you wasn't an option even if I tried. My grandma always said 'we like because...we love despite...' I like you because you're nice to me, you are my best friend and you always search for me in a room when someone tells something funny, just to see my reaction. And I love you despite you being the last one to get ready, your gym schedule, and all the times you yell 'Wonderwall' in my ear, even though you know I hate this song," she finished. Her eyes were glistening with tears, just like everybody else. It took a few seconds for people to start cheering and clapping them. Harrison hugged her, with a wide and bright smile.

"Great speech," you said, going to her and Harrison, and hugging them. Tom following right behind you.

"I almost cried again," Tom said, hugging Harrison.

"Almost?" Anna asked, her thumbs brushing the corner of his eyes, cleaning a tear that threatened to fall.

"It was a really good speech," he defended himself.

"Thanks," she smiled. "We're gonna talk to...some people. We see you guys later?" she said holding your hand, and you and Tom nodded.

"We're gonna eat something," he said, resting his hand on your lower back, and they left. "Can we talk?" he asked, once Harrison and Anna left.

"Yeah, sure!" you said, and he noticed the anxiety in your voice. At least he wasn't the only one that was afraid.

He walked to his room, opening the door so you could go in first. You walked to the window, looking at the party that was happening downstairs.

"It looks really good from here," you said. "They are so happy," you smiled, watching Harrison and Anna dance together.

"I'm happy to see you," he said, cutting you off. "I've missed you. Everyone did," his hands were in his pockets, and he was trying to stay calm even though his heart was loud in his ear.

"I missed everyone too. It was good to see your mom," you said, fidgeting with the fabric of your dress. The room went silent. Tom didn't wanna push you, but he wanted to be with you and talk like before. Maybe he didn't think this through. The only noise was the music from the party. "I'm sorry," you said, taking a step forward, and Tom looked at you, waiting. You were nervous. "I'm sorry for pushing you away the way I did," your voice was heavy. "We were both sad and broken-hearted, and I was selfish. I only thought about the pain I was feeling. I'm sorry for ignoring your feelings," you said, and Tom felt his heart beating faster. He never thought about that night this way. He always thought about how much pain he caused you and how guilty he was feeling.

"I should've talked to you. I was so focused on the reasons why we couldn't be together," Tom said, taking a step in your direction. "I never thought about the reasons why we could," he confessed. These last three months he thought a lot about what he did wrong, and not talking to you sooner, giving you the chance to decide if you two could work, was his biggest mistake. "I was a coward. With you, with me, with that girl," his voice was trembling. "And I regret every day for what I did," he finished. You were looking at him, and your expression was unreadable. Even for him, that knew you for half of his life.

"I love you, and I," you started, but then you stopped. Your eyes blinking heavily. "I love you," you repeated after a few seconds, touching your lips with your fingers, looking away from him. It was like you could touch every word. "I...I love you!" you said like you just realized that. You had told him that before, but you were so hurt that you never let yourself feel that completely. Now, standing here, with nothing in your way, that was all you could feel. "I love you..." you smiled, looking at Tom that still had a lost look in his face. "I love you!" you said one last time like you were declaring your feelings for him.

Without giving you a chance to say it again, Tom walked the two steps that were keeping you apart, holding your face in his hands, and kissing you. It was urgent and frantic at first, but then you felt your heart slowing down and it was like the entire world was in slow motion. Your hand went to his waist, holding his sweater, while his fingers tangled in your hair, one of his hands holding your neck, deepening, even more, the kiss.

"I love you too," he whispered against your lips, breaking the kiss. He smiled, looking into your eyes. "And I really think we should go on a date."

1 year and 7 months later...

"Lunch is ready," Sam called from the kitchen, and soon footsteps and a door closing were heard upstairs.

"Y/N! You're cheating!" Tom yelled.

"Stop whining. I just closed the door!" you yelled back, running down the stair.

"Racing again?" Sam asked, seeing you enter the kitchen breathless.

"He said he would clean the room if I won," you shrugged. You yelped, feeling Tom lifting you up by the waist. "NO! PUT ME DOWN!" you yelled.

"You cheated!" he said, carrying you to the backyard and locking you out. He pointed and laughed at you through the glass door.

"I can't believe you are doing this. Let me in. I'm hungry!" you said, crossing your arms on your chest.

"If you wanna get in you'll have to do three things first," he said.

"They are being idiots again?" Harry asked entering the kitchen and seeing you two.

"What's going on?" Harrison asked, and Harry pointed to the glass door.

"Idiots," Anna said sitting on a chair around the dinner table.

"What three things?" you asked.

"First, you'll apologize for cheating," he said and you rolled your eyes. "Second, you'll help me clean the room. And third," he put his hand on his pocket, taking out a black velvet box. He opened the box, revealing a ring, and your eyes grew wider, noticing what was happening. "Marry me?" he said, and you covered your mouth in shock, just like everyone else behind him.

"Yes!" you said, feeling your eyes burning. "Yesyesyes!" you repeated, nodding frantically, while he opened the door, pulling you into a hug.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Salt and vinegar

First of all, thanks to everyone who read my first attempt at the first person writing, I always struggled with that.

I must say I didn't plan to write a second part to Cakes and accidents because I am a sucker for one shots with open endings, but I actually had a clear idea in my head about how it should continue, and I found a spark of inspiration so here is the part II.

One shot

Warnings: Fluff, cursing, poor table manners.

The message was bright and clear in your cellphone screen, but still you had to look at ti three more times to make sure what it says, and once the idea had sink in your head you tossed the device away in the laundry basket you were supposed to do that night as if it had somehow offended you. That wasn't real, it was a cruel joke of destiny that Tom Holland, actually Stanley, said the voice in your head, invited you to have dinner with him.

And of course you didn't want to read much into it, you have been talking in an amicable way for the last three days and he was probably trying to be friendly with you. But if you had to sit next to that charming smile and those breathtaking eyes that make you smile like an idiot just by thinking about them, for more than 20 minutes you will end up making an awkward mess of yourself and he would probably feel uncomfortable and would run away scared.

You pick up the phone and ignore the text to call your sister, she may be younger but the list of broken hearts in her past made her the perfect person to give advice, and since it was almost 8 at night she may be free in her new home all those mile away.

"Well he clearly enjoys your company" The voice of your sister told you in the phone after you briefly summarize how you meet him "Y/N why are you doing this? This Holland guy is clearly interested in you, what the hell if he said is name is Stanley or Lucas or Wenceslaus" She made a pause to let you laugh, she always did that, even when she was angry, making jokes was a second nature for Y/S/N "If anything it only means he wants to have a more normal discret experience as a young adult, and trust me it that is hard to find, you should see the blokes out here, they feel like just because they have a couple thousands followers in IG I should be kissing the floor they walk on"

"I suppose you are right, but I haven't done this in so long what if I mess it up?" You said with a voice a little more desperate than you hoped for.

"Then at least you have had dinner with a handsome lad, and you will move on. Look you are not sure if this is a date right? Then take it that way just two friends eating, a normal conversation, maybe a beer and please big sister put on a bloody dress" she said before you start lecturing her on how little you cared for gender specific clothes and she talked some more about her new school. By the time you hung up it was 9:00 and you sent the answer to his text.

Sorry, busy doing laundry. Sure mate! 6 works for you?

"Oh Y/N why did you say mate?" You asked yourself outloud, you really were bad at this.

And here I am, being useless. You are such an adult. 6 works perfect, I'll pick you. Sweet dreams mate! 😉

His text came in within minutes and you let go a relief sigh, before start thinking about what you should wear, but Y/S/N was right, you had to take it as calm as you could, and he was in fact a charming friend, worst case scenario you still were going to have dinner with Tom Holland, that couldn't be bad, and with that in mind you finally went downstairs to do the bloody laundry.

"Looking good Bristol" he said once you open the door at exactly 6:00 pm the next day. "Good thing Tessa is not coming today, will be a shame to get grass and dirt on that dress" he add pointing down to the skirt of the flowy summer dress you finally picked, looking at you for one second to long. So maybe it is a date your mind said happy.

"Oh that's too bad, I actually got her something" You said picking out something from your purse "So she won't be out there chasing innocent british pastries" You said giving him a chocolate cake plush toy. And following him out to his car.

"This is adorable" He said again smiling with his whole body, and you wonder again how does he do that? "Sorry I forgot to tell you to don't posh up, I'm actually just coming out of the gym" Actually never mind. Your mind told you since he was wearing again a simple black tshirt and dark blue jeans, and then you could notice his hair was wet, he probably had just taken a shower ... don't go there. "And I'm actually starving, chips sound good?"

"Sure, I actually didn't like the ones in Bristol so it would be nice to eat them here." Yo said trying to shake your thoughts away from the danger zone and putting on the seatbelt "Isn't it late for being at the gym? I hope you are not an excercise addict"

"I don't think I am" he said with a little laugh "But what do you think is this too much" He said with an obvious pretend innocence flexing up his arms making the tshirt rise on his abs. That's obscene sir, sorry girl you are on your own. Said your inner voice shutting down all logical thinking

"No, you look quite... healthy" You said finally looking to the left, never finding a review mirror so interesting.

"Good I would hate to be too big" he said and you could hear the amusement in his voice, and somehow the fact that he was aware of your obvious crush on him make you confident enough to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

"Obviously, period pieces never look good on beefcakes and you can't be spiderman forever" you said casually and he turn at you a bit astonished.

"When did you knew?" He said and thankfully his tone was not anger nor embarrassment just genuine curiosity "And I would love to do a period piece, what about Heathcliff ?"

"Well I don't believe there is many Staffordshire bull terriers around named Tessa" You started "But I actually recognized you when I saw you" You finally confess, feeling the pressure lifting off your shoulders "But I thought since you were not comfortable giving out your own name it wasn't my place to say anything. And Heathcliff is overrated Linton on the other hand is more of a challenge"

"Oh don't be so harsh on yourself, I didn't mind giving my name or not, it just seemed something funny to do at the time, and Tom or Stanley I actually enjoyed talking to you" He said while he found a place to park. "Do you mind walking from here? Is a nice place but doesn't have and actual car park".

"Not at all, as long is not more than 5 blocks, I am getting hungry" you said with a smile while he maneuver to park his Audi.

"O'Neill's Kingston upon Thames" He said once you were both on the ground and he once again offered you his arm "Have you ever been there? Great food"

"I actually never been there, but sounds fine, let's go" you said gladly taking his arm and walking by his side and a couple blocks later you were finally at the Irish Pub.

"A pint of Guinness and cod and chips" He said returning the menu to the waiter.

"And the lady?" He asked while you struggle to not take forever to decide what you wanted, an old bad habit that your mother have tried to change constantly.

"The Bacon cheese chips and a pint for me as well" you said finally putting the menu away.

"My kind of girl" He said and winked at you, clearly not realizing that your legs will stop working because of it "So when do you go back to bristol?" He asked and that honest interest encouraged you to speak.

"By mid September, my mother is actually about to toss my train ticket in the trash since I didn't came back for spring vacations, but I had so much work that I couldn't."

"I totally get it, whenever I'm away my dad makes such a big deal about it" he said letting go a little laugh "I mean is not the same since I didn't go to college but is sweet"

"Oh but you cross the Atlantic, they have reasons to be worried. I'm just one train away" you said and a small spark of pride shine in his eyes, was he self conscious about you being in college? No that was ridiculous. "Anyway I actually needed this, my friends from uni are in their houses and my friends from high school are too happy with their boyfriends and girlfriends to hang out with me." There I'm a loser now we are even.

"And your sister is gone, been there. I have the feeling Harry is going to break up with me when he gets a real girlfriend" he said and make you laugh, a bit louder and more nasal than you wanted.

"That's some laugh" he said laughing too but instead of making you shut up or get embarrassed you laughed louder causing the waiter to look at both of you like you were crazy while holding your food.

"Yours is no better sunshine" Yo said finally and giving a I'm so sorry look at the guy that kept looking at you and he finally put your food on the table. "This looks delicious" You said taking out one of the chips making a cheese string to extend from the hot plate.

"That's like too much cheese" He said making a funny disgusted face, and then proceeded to add more vinegar and salt to his chips.

"And that's like too much vinegar" You teased back at him, and then taking a big sip of the Guinness.

"No darling, this is too much vinegar" He said taking one of the complementary pickled eggs on de table and giving it a big bite.

"That's actually fucking disgusting..." you started but ironically and unplanned you were betrayed mid sentence by the beer and a loud and horrifying burp came out of your mouth, and the shame and the look on other people faces made you want to be swollen by the floor "Oh shit, I'm so sorry, that was so awful, I'm so gross..." The apologies start bubbling in your mouth while your face turned red and you dare to look at him, and the serious look on his face could have broken your heart in the very moment because you could almost hearing him say how you should end the dinner for once.

"Oh you wanna get tough" He said instead and took a sip of his beer and let go an even bigger burp and then looked at you with the brightest smile yet and add "Beat that baby" and he raised his opened arms as if he had won. You only smiled and nodded and you kept talking about other nonsenses until two beers and a order of onion rings later he was waiting at the door for you to came out of the bathroom to walk back to his car.

"Sorry I take forever, I went back to give a bigger tip to the waiter, we were so awful" You said at him.

"You were awful, I was being completely charming" He said and this time he didn't offer his arm to you instead simply took your hand without saying a word and before you noticed you were already walking holding it tightly.

"Of course you were, the guy put two more picked eggs at the table for you and kept looking drooling" You said and he laughed.

"Sorry sweetheart I can't turn off this pretty face" He said pointing at him when you reached the car, you couldn't agree more.

"Of course, my speciality is reheated pizza in the microwave" You said and he laughed, there was a narcissistic pleasure about being able to make him laugh.

As a perfect gentleman he walked you at your door, there was so much that you wanted to tell him, but the idea of going out with him again soon was so powerful that you almost didn't mind watching him leave.

"That was the funniest and more amazing date I ever have"

"Oh stop it" You said blushing again "I'm going to start believing you and it would get to my head"

"Believe me, I almost run to the drugstore to buy a toothbrush" He said and give you a devilish wink that make you thank your door for being behind you holding you still.

"You know how unfair this is when you look like that?" You said desperately looking at your feet "And for what is worth I have an amazing evening too, and if I'm honest I wouldn't have mind at all too" You said and dare to touch his arm softly before turning your back at him to get inside.

He suddenly grabbed you by your waist and turned back to him, planting a quick soft kiss on your cheek, and you could see the fun grin on his face, he was not being considered he was torturing you with anticipation, and you love it.

"Goodbye then" He said and with one last wink he walk away and got in his car.

You stood ther for solid five minutes touching your face where he had just kissed you and watching the street, then you finally get inside thinking about how happy and uneasy this force of nature of a man made you feel, he would be the end of you, but you wouldn't change it for the world.

And by not terrible I wonder if they mean ‘Hey look it’s the Chameleon and his whole history with Peter Parker is being ignored so we can imply he’s raping a woman’ and ‘Here watch this woman take advantage of Peter when he’s drunk before turning on a dime into a racist and sexist sterotype of Latin American woman’ or ‘Let’s ruin the Lizard and Kraven’s Last Hunt for everybody’.

Mary Jane dates a loser cleberity because she’s out of character whilst Peter Parker invades people’s privacy which is even MORE out of character and here comes Mysterio alive and well ignoring everything we knew about him for the past 10 years isn’t a Golden Age. Its just hot trash.

“But, what of Mary Jane? She was Peter’s wife and the mother of their disappeared baby. Would we ever get some sort of closure? Hell no. What was more surprising was how little it mattered.”

WTF does ‘it didn’t matter’ even mean in this context?

It mattered to most of the readers hence they kept teasing us with reconciliation to spike sales over and over again before just giving us an AU book...then bringing them back for real!

“ Does that say a lot for Mary Jane and her defined role in the Spider-Man universe. I venture to say that it did. But, why are now realizing the futile nature of Peter being married and its importance to Mary Jane?”

Yeah. It’s so futile to have character development for the lead and second biggest character that was the bedrock of 20 years of stories that by and large were better than the objective trash that followed int heir wake and fundamentally damaged both characters going forward.

“Mary Jane has always never made sense for Peter Parker or Spider-Man. It was wish fulfillment for a guy that went from puny nerd to crushing multiple samples of poon in a three year period.”

This sexist bullshit again.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and even if that wasn’t true Peter is himself attractive and even if he was ‘average looking’ someone as attractive like MJ would marry someone like Peter all the time in the real world.

It was their personalities and shared histories that made the relationship make sense.

To dismiss MJ’s backstory and the inter-personal emotions between them that made the relationship happen is ignorant and a clear sign of either not having read or not having paid attention to the material.

The hard truth is MJ pretty much ALWAYS made sense for Spider-Man. She wasn’t wish fulfilment she was her own well rounded character who organically developed in tandem with Peter, as Nick Spencer himself has corroborated.

“Gwen was his equal,”

How?

Gwen was more financially affluent than Peter, had a higher social standing afforded by her father’s job and their comparative wealth to Peter.

If we are talking her brains, Gwen wasn’t anywhere close to Peter’s league. Peter was the kid whipping up web-fluid in his bedroom as a teenager. Gwen was...someone who was in his science class. A statement that could apply to Harry.

“ Betty was the older woman and Mary Jane was the neighbor’s niece thrown upon him. ”

Betty was younger than him canonically Stan lee said so in a letters page but even if she wasn’t in the context of the times she wouldn’t been a few years removed from high school and Peter would’ve been a senior. Big whoop.

Betty’s place has little to do with her age but more to do with just being his first romantic experience.

As for MJ putting aside how she was retconning to not be his neighbour, that assessment for her character applies to the Silver Age and literally no other period of time beyond it. That was NOT her role in the Bronze age in the 1970s, the DeFalco run of the 80s and obviously not the time during the 1990s or 2000s when they were married.

WTF is with his toxic notion that a character is not allowed to develop FFS!

MJ hasn’t been the nieghbour’s blind date for him for the majority of her existence.

“Mary Jane doesn’t even show up until the classic final page of her debut issue. Sure, it’s one of the best entrances in comic history. However, Mary Jane already feels like a put on intruder into a world that she doesn’t understand.”

Correct and Norman Osborn wasn’t revealed as the Goblin until 4 issues before that, Gwen Stacy didn’t die until 7 years after that and Venom never showed up until 22 years after that.

I guess all that shit is irrelevant to the character and mythology of Spider-Man and is just totally optional and superfluous.

I’m sorry I never realized only the first 4 years and few months of Spider-Man mattered.

I never realized Venom, Hobgoblin, Carnage, KINGPIN and all the OTHER shit from after ASM #41 were ‘intruders’ in Spider-Man’s world.

Give me a fucking break.

No, he and MJ over the course of 2 years of masterful stories by Conway gradually grow closer organically.

That’s YEARS later. Gwen dies in 1973. Peter and MJ hook up in 1974. They break up in like 1978!

Oh dear god this is a quintessential example of buying into Marvel propaganda.

That isn’t the sequence of events.

First of all MJ showd up DURING his relationship with Felicia.

THEN she revealed she knew he was Spider-Man and became his confidant.

THEN peter and Felicia broke up.

THEN he and MJ began growing closer and closer.

THEN he had one last fling with Felicia following a seeming rejection by MJ.

THEN he proposed to MJ.

All that shit played out between approximately 1983-1987. That’s about FOUR YEARS of publication with THREE titles running simultaneously!

“Parker gets rejected, then MJ accepts due to a pending marriage in the Spider-Man comic strip.”

Again no. Yeah the wedding we got occurred due to synching with the newspaper strip but the build up to it was in the works for years by DeFalco and Frenz who were in charge of the book and embellished by Peter David and other people on the satellites. It wasn’t intended as actually leading to them crossing the threshold as man and wife but the build up to make that happen and for it to hypothetically happen anyway still existed.

“That’s right, kids. Peter and Mary Jane only got married because Marvel wanted to tie it into an unrelated storyline in the national newspaper comic strip.”

Again that’s true but the build up for to nevertheless make sense in story was still there and still paid off 4 years of character development.

“The key point of Peter and MJ’s relationship was based on editorial interference. ”

Peter and MJ’s relationship began in 1973 nearly 15 years before they got married and it occurred out of a sincere desire by the writer to tell a story about grief.

“Tom DeFalco had actually spent a storyline early explaining how MJ figured out Peter’s identity, but kept it to herself. ”

Er...no he didn’t. He explained she knew his identity but never explained how.

And...this kind of egregiously undermines the central argument right here.

“Then, made a very reasonable argument for why she could like Peter as a friend. ”

And then along with Frenz his collaborator and Peter David spent the next 3 or so years developing their relationship as clearly much more than friendship so why is this fuckwit taking one line from ASM #259 totally out of context and ignoring all the stuff it led to.

Oh right....in order to support the argument via lying.

It was more than 2 years.

“forced attacks and a second rejected marriage”

Forced attacked? Alastair Smythe made the natural presumption that MJ was affiliated with Spider-Man based upon his encounter with her in ASM Annual #19.

No. MJ has a change of heart after resolving her commitment issues directly connected to her estrangement from her sister and her bad blood with her father which Peter helped her to resolve in the course of the story where she accepts his proposal.

Learn to read the damn stories!

You have a supporting character...they are important...they are used within the narrative...this is bad because why again?

The sexism and hypocrisy is strong with this point because half the time MJ gets shit because she didn’t do ENOUGH in the marriage. But when she is involved within the super side of things in some capacity it’s forced and bad.

How?

A super villain knows Peter’s identity and invades his home, targeting someone clone to him who he maybe lives with. That’d been happening since the silver age with Aunt May, Betty Brant and Gwen Stacy.

As for her getting kidnapped by a stalker, this happens in real life especially to women and famous people and famous women. Spider-Man is a reflection of real life so WTF is the problem with this? HOW is this forced.

“For next decade, everything became about MJ’s pregnancy, habits and constant fears for Peter.”

Again, ‘everything’ would need to mean 100% of stories.

MJ was pregnant for under 2 and a half years, not a decade.

Not every story revolved around her fears for Peter.

Her smoking habit lasted for less than 2 years too.

And there was after all a period of time when Peter wasn’t even the main character of the damn series.

And of course the notion of ‘everything’ or even ‘most things’ REVOLVING around MJ is bullshit because hate to break it to you but MJ was never the main character, Peter was.

Everything revolved around him and since she was his wife a lot of stuff revolved around her which is called ‘Godd Wrting’.

Notice how a shitton of screen time and subplots revolve around the wives of the main characters of drug dealer and mafia boss Walter White and Tony Soprano in the 2 most critically acclaimed TV shows of all time, Breaking Bad and the Sopranos.

USING supporting characters and giving them screen time is IMPORTANT!

It’s also the reason people hated Aunt May for decades until JMS started doing this in 2001! That’s near damn 40 years of Aunt May being mostly underutilized and useless to the point where people hated her and wanted her to die. THEN a lot of stories or story moments began involving or revolving around her and opinions changed.

“The comic was quickly becoming a relationship drama, when we weren’t dealing with fake robot parents, clones, the Superhuman Registration Act or Aunt May getting shot. ”

a) The dumbass who wrote this referred to events across the decade following the marriage and then included 2 things AFTER that point in time

c) God forbid there be relationship drama in a book that heavily involved soap opera elements and also the real life of the hero who could be you, i.e. someone who has to deal with relationship drama a lot because most people in real life do

“Enough was enough, as the time came to re-evaluate what MJ brought to the team. ”

A grounding for Peter. Character development for him. Strong female representation. A human hero who didn’t need to fight villains to be heroic. A realistic flawed and complex human character in a series all about that? A confidant for the main character? An exposition device?

“The answer was that she is a party girl who worked better as an X Factor.”

Get fucked and read some comics beyond the Silver Age hack.

MJ STOPPED being a party girl or an X-Factor in 1973!

Peter put MJ on the spot with an untenable position then she sweetens Mephisto’s deal. Mephisto made the offer though. MJ didn’t make anyone do shit, especially Mephisto. She just complied with his wishes.

Fuck this article even fails to accurately represent the events of the bullshit storyt hat supports their claim.

MJ’s whisper to Mephisto takes places before he changes time and Peter forcing MJ to remember (more like he forces her to not forget) occurres for unrelated reasons after time has been altered. The two things aren’t directly connected.

Moreover the duo don’t CHOOSE to split, MJ leaves him.

At least represent the bs you are defending accurately.

It’s not tricky it’s hacky.

It didn’t lead Spider-Man back to the promise of the 1980s because things weren’t written as well.

Moreover the early 1980s were when O’Neil was writing Spider-Man and the series sucked shit, why would you want to go back to that?

In fact even if it didn’t suck why would you want to go BACK to something antiquated as being 25-30 years old FFS!

Spider-Girl suffered in sales because it was a female led book at a time when that wasn’t something the market was kind to. It suffered because it was a mass market book sold on the direct market. It suffered because it underined Marvel’s desired narrative and was spearheaded by a former EIC, people who traditionally generate a lot of bad blood courtesy of consequent editorial regimes who throw them to the wolves. It suffered because they wanted to promote another character with the name. It suffered because it was an out of continuity title.

It has shit to do with anything related in this dumpster fire of an article.

In summary:

This article is hot trash peddling sexist propaganda in line with a false narrative Marvel wants.

Kill it with fire.

But what can I expect from a writer who doesn’t even know Eddie Brock wasn’t a photojournalist or thinks Ned Leeds was ‘tricked’ into becoming the Hobgoblin.
