Everyone knows Dick is blind when it comes to his little brothers.

Jason rarely calls, so whenever Dick hears the special ringtone he set for him, he drops everything to answer. He listens as his brother rages and soothes him through the phone. Whispering kind words and reassurances that “everything’s alright Little Wing” and “of course you won’t be alone forever, you’re a wonderful guy, anyone would be lucky to have you”. Dick doesn’t realise that the huffs and whimpers on the other end of the phone aren’t from Jason crying, but rather him trying to stifle his moans as he jerks off to his big brothers sweet voice.

Tim has always been a fan of Dick Grayson, and so he doesn’t even bat an eye when he hears the click of a camera shutter. To him, Tim is just showing his appreciation in the only way he knows how. Dick doesn’t seem to put together that the noise always comes from behind him. He doesn’t know that his sweet younger brother, his precious Timmy, his little baby bird is using them as spank-bank material, or that almost every one of Tim’s friends have been given pictures of Nightwing’s ass.

And Damian, oh Damian. Such a brave boy, always knowing how to convince Dick to give him what he wants. He doesn’t know what its like in the League of Assassins, so when Damian tells him that he had slaves who bathed him his entire life, Dick is quick to help him get clean, not even batting an eye when Damian’s little dick gets hard, simply brushing it off as a normal reaction to the warm water. They sleep together every night, but that’s only because “Little D has been having lots of nightmares lately, and he’s just not used to Gotham’s low temperature”.

Dick Grayson, who can’t imagine his brothers as anything other than innocent little angels.

Sometimes I forget how angry people get about ships that aren't harmful 😅

Tim Drake is canonly bi and he has a boyfriend. People ship him with his ex girlfriend. Both of those ships are completely fine, I think timbern is cute and I don't ship timsteph but I get they were together a while and people like them.

That being said I made a poll to see which Tim ship is most popular (I enjoy seeing what people think yk, it's entertaining) and Steph was one of the options but so was Bernard and someone rebloged it saying if timsteph didn't win it would be misogyny?

Neither of them are winning btw lol, connor is which is its own weirdly controversial thing

The thing is-

Timsteph isn't a bad ship. They were together a while, they were cute. Lots of people grew up with timsteph and like them.

Timbern isn't a bad ship. Just because Tim's dating a guy now doesn't mean he hates Steph or anything, he just moved on (and so did Steph!) and he's bisexual, he isn't just suddenly gay. They're cute too, and it's nice to see representation.

Timkon also isn't a bad ship. They're close friends which is the base to a good relationship, if they got together it'd also be good.

You know what is a bad ship? Tim and Jason. Or Damian, or Dick, or Bruce. And yet I see more people mad about shipping Tim with his boyfriend or his ex girlfriend or his best friend than I see people mad about shipping him with his siblings and his dad.

So, you've seen the words "anti" and "proshipper" thrown around in people's bios and "batc*st dni" on people's posts. Maybe you want to know what all the fuss is about, maybe you have a particular opinion about all this fuss. In any case, this informative post is for you.

Using Samantha Aburime's paper "the cult structure of the american anti", I'm going to explain the issue.

First of all what is an anti even? It's a term people use to self-identify within fandoms. As the name anti implies, they mainly identify with being against things.

Which leads us to our problem of the anti mentality.

Most antis are minors or under 24. People who left the anti community have explained their experiences in the following manners:

Maybe you have felt the pressure to join in anti behavior as well. If any of the following feelings are familiar to you, then you are experiencing anti indoctrination:

If the shame and guilt instilled in anti members isn't bad enough, there are more consequences for the targets of the antis. In the batman fandom these are blogs that may or may not describe themselves as proship, meaning they ship characters that are (adoptive) members of the wayne family (Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne) with one another.

Essentially: this is how anti action works:

Beyond the aggresive nature of the anti mentality, the problem is that the people it targets are overwhelmingly vulnerable minorities.

And I have often seen antis justifying their harrasement by explaining that they are themselves queer or non-caucasian, which is an example of moral licencing and does not actually excuse targetting other minorities or people of the same minority as you.

So what do antis specifically do? The anti community of the batman fandom will often throw around accusations of incest ("batc*st") and pedophilia.

Let us examine those three concepts, disinformation, virtue signaling and legitimate abuse.

We can find disinformation in the prectise of denying reasonable arguments for tolerance of proshipping. An anti will not engage in any attempt to understand why people ship something they find morally apprehensible. They will label proshippers as degenarates, thereby misrepresenting who it is they are targeting. Furthermore they will misrespresent the amount of influence that proshippers yave on influencing people.

Virtue signaling describes the practise of labelling things as problematic without delivering reasonable arguments for doing so and instead using strong emotional language to explain their judgement:

Virtue signaling also represents the practise of self-describing the anti as morally pure and the "enemy", the proshipper as morally degenerate.

Both disinformation and virtue signaling allow for legitimate abuse. Depersonifying and villifying the opponent gives the anti a feeling of being legitimized in their abuse.

For followers of my blog, I would like to raise awareness of this side of anti culture. Emotional and shame-inducing language can easily sway us. I plead my case for reasonable and distanced evaluation of what you see online. Condemning pedophilia and incest will seem perfectly natural on face value, which is why it is so hare to understand that often time what is labbelled as such is misrepresented, and really all the time the anti myth will equate preference of fiction to beliefs of real life morality (see first image)

To finish my informational post, I leave you with one last essential quote from Samantha Aburime's paper:

"The anti movement perpetuates archaic systems of judgement based on personal disgust and region-specific morality, punishing powerless people for their fannish interests and tainting their online communities. Their work does nothing to dismantle harmful systematic institutions; rather, it embraces them, even going so far as to actively harm and destroy members of their own community."

back on my oblivious Dick Grayson and pining Damian Wayne agender. his brother is so hard for him and he aint even know it.

When Dick comes over to visit, the first thing he does is pull Damian into a hug, just like always. Except Damian recently had a growth spurt, and now his face is perfectly lined up with Dick's chest, so he gets a face full of pecs every time. He loves it. Dick keeps squealing to Bruce "that Dami's finally gotten over the idea that affection equals weakness! I'm so happy that my baby brother feels safe enough with me to initiate hugs now!" Bruce just sighs and wonders how his eldest is so oblivious despite being trained to be a detective.

Batcest warning!! Look away if uncomfy

One of my favourite convoluted love triangle headcanons is Tim likes Jay who likes Dick who has had an unrequited crush on Bruce for years who just thinks of his boys as...his boys. Dami also has a crush on Dick AND Tim but will never admit it.

I like to think Tim confessed to Jay and Jay was like "fuck off" but started looking at him differently. Perhaps they meet up for a makeout session every now and then but Jay's feelings are with Dick who he refuses to confess to.

"I will bury this feeling under multiple layers of snark and disdain until I die-for reals this time."

Dick knew lil Jay had a crush on him but didn't think post-lazarus pit Jay still held the same feelings so just treats him as a brother. He's still pining for his father/mentor after all. Dick was so obvious with his feelings as a kid but Bruce never picked up on it and eventually Dick gave up, burying his feelings in redheads and work. Part of his leaving Bruce so dramatically was realising his crush would never come to fruition.

Damian's crush on Dick developed after Bruce's death and Dick took such good care of him. He slipped it into conversation a few times but Dick didn't take it seriously, thinking he was just confusing familial love with romantic love. His crush on Tim on the other hand is something he refuses to admit but most of his bro's have caught onto it. Even Tim knows but refuses to acknowledge it, weirded out by it enough. He's grateful when Jon comes into the picture and takes Dami's attention away from him.

Now Bruce may be the greatest detective but he is shit when it comes to romance and even more so when it involves his boys. Selina knows pretty much all of it but doesn't want to out the boys before they're ready-and besides who wanted to break the news to such a love-adverse, awkward man like Bruce?

I didn't mention Duke in the intro but that's because he's not part of the triangle (hexagon?) and altho he knows a lot of who is crushing on who there is absolutely no form of torture that could get him to talk about it.

Steph and Cass are the only ones who have it together because they've been dating for a while and are pretty open about it. Even Bruce knows and acknowledges them. He will protect his girls if anyone says anything homophobic to them and u can quote me on that.
