Funny how my top two GSR fics are named the same thing, but hey, they're both amazing. I was apprehensive because of the "calling Soap Roach by accident" trope, however they really diverted my expectations and made these three really feel like equals in a relationship. Really love how they made sure to establish a strong dynamic between Soap and Roach instead of pitting them against each other. And Roach isn't just some 2D character here, he's very nuanced and I love it!

Prowl starts drinking additives that are supposed to help with fertility, tarantulas uses science to track when prowls spark is more fertile. Crazy shit that they do not communicate to each other at ALL.

And then Prowl does finally get pregnant with springer. And now they've got this whole weird domestic partner ship going on bc tarantulas needs to provide transfluid for the bitty obviously so prowl has to stick around more often. Just for springers sake. Not because prowl cares or anything. Baka.

sue me but I’m actually a sucker for fics that have Eddie and Steve meet before the shitshow that is S4… this fic mingles the Steddie plot with the actual plot of the show so masterfully and so beautifully and I think every time that I get to experience Steve’s reaction to Eddie nearly dying in the Upside Down is a blessing from the ao3 gods… so many beautiful Steddie moments in this one and when I tell you, WHEN I FINALLY REALIZED WHAT THE TITLE OF THE FIC IS REFERRING TO… besties I started bawling

2. The Edification of Steve Harrington by ChronicRabbit

realized while reading this one that I’ve read a bunch of ‘Eddie takes care of Steve’ fics, but virtually no fics where it’s the other way around… after this one, you can rest assured I will be reading every single one out there because WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK 😭 also, anyone else out there weak for protective Steve? like, I want that mf to obliterate anyone who so much as looks at Eddie the wrong way… also Steve forgetting he’s got a date with a girl because he’s too distracted by Eddie might be my new favourite Steddie trope phaha… anyways, loved this

3. To Be Loved For No Reason At All by @beetlesandstarss

another ‘Steve takes care of Eddie’ fic… idk but there’s something so hauntingly sentimental about reading fics that were being written as S4 was still coming out… we were different humans back then fr… anyways, this fic… WOW… the song recs at the beginning of every chapter, *chef’s kiss* (tbh I’m sold anytime I see Sex by The 1975 phaha, easily convinced and all that)… also, I love me a slightly angsty Eddie, can you blame me… also, HE BROUGHT HIM FLOWERS, NO ONE SPEAK TO ME FOR A WEEK AHSGSFXAHSG… the smut in this is so gorgeously intimately written, the characterization is on point… and don’t even get me started on “CAN I KISS YOU?” “WILL YOU STILL WANT ME IN THE MORNING?”… yeah, I need to go touch some grass 🥲

Since I've seen many posts about people missing how common asks used to be, I have been trying to send to more asks to engage more. AHHH never apologize for sending asks, and any kind of ask is welcome here! I don't reply to all of them, obviously, mostly because of time constraints and sometimes because the topic might be too mentally exhausting for me to deal with. Honestly I love getting asks so that I have NEW content daily for everyone... asks are the lifeblood of this blog, and I don't get many of them these days, not nearly as much as I got in the past. It's the only reason the content is less here, because I don't have the engagement much anymore.

As for types of asks, I like asks that can be answered in 10 to 15 minutes, because those are my fave ones on weeknights when I just want to get off my computer after a LONG day at work, but my obsessive need to ensure I have at least two new posts daily won't let me NOT answer SOMETHING. But HONESTLY, I've been really enjoying the ones you've been sending me, I just haven't a chance to sit down and get to all of them because, as I said, some require more thought than others.

I like fic rec asks because it gives me content on Sundays. I'm running out of them. I like asks about me, because I'm lonely but my shit self esteem won't allow me to... be a bother to anyone, so I just keep everything bottled up. I like the advice asks that allow me to be a big sister, because that's what I'm good at.

I like asks that ask my opinion on movies and TV shows, meta-style asks, and just.... getting to know me, I guess :)

I don't like TOO personal asks, hate asks, passive aggressive asks, pushy asks... just standard asks that "if you wouldn't like getting this ask, why do you think I would like it?".

But yeah, my blog pretty much lives on asks, so if I'm not getting them, then I'm not posting as often.

the other day I tried to start this book and the first page was a content warnings list which, yeah alright, fine. (I will say, despite the fact that I am ideologically in support of content warnings, seeing them in a published work does automatically ping my "oh I'm gonna hate something about this work" geiger counter.) but then the next couple of pages was... a book playlist. as in, every chapter got 1-3 songs and it was all shit I was entirely unfamiliar with or familiar enough with to get a Vibe, ykwim

but I pushed past the alarm bells in my head and tried to read the book itself. because it was a romance about two serial killers! I mean, come on, of course I'm going to give it a chance! I barely made it through the first chapter before hittin the "delete from library" button.

idk what to call this particular narrative voice except the "this used to be a fanfic and it reads like one" voice, and I call it that because of Fifty Shades of Grey, because if you are in any way familiar with how that book reads then you know exactly what I mean. this book had that. and the male serial killer had "golden retriever vibes", which, okay, trope subversion, I guess? but... ew?

this is a shame, because the content warnings were pretty damn good (as befitting a book about murderers, yknow). I did consider skipping ahead to find to the sex scenes but instead I chose to wisely assume that there are hornyposts on my dashboard that are way hotter than whatever that book could have given me

anyway all this to say, anyone got any good bad-people romance recs

Coming in at #5, I've got Rebel Black Boy! It's a pretty good one, I think. I've been thinking of reposting it as an x reader rather than an x OC just because people seem to like those more so yeah :)

Next at #4, we've got my The Linguist series (I say series but it's two parts and still unfinished lmao). I actually quite like this one but the reason it only gets 4th is because it's unfinished so yeah

It's a fantastic premise and beautiful execution: two people forced to get to know each other under extreme and stressful conditions, supporting each other and eventually becoming friends and family. Humor and angst and a happy ending :3
