The former prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, was shot. It looks very serious.  Abe has always been very friendly towards Taiwan. The two countries are friendly allies. I hope everything will be alright.
Consider current world news, I hope people who aren’t familiar with Asia international politics can resist any improper jokes or making this whole situation all about the English-speaking world again (I don’t want to make any example, but, you know those kinds... If you want to joke about your own government that’s fantastic. It’s not necessary to bring every other countries with it.)

When the daughter of THE Martin Luther King Jr. tells you not to spread propaganda in his name, we think it’s best to just stop.
It’s time to cancel the Hollywood experiment that was Amy Schumer.

Something that Americans (and also other Western people, but especially Americans) need to understand is how much US hegemony affects non americans, and how much power you guys hold over us.
The only problems we talk about are the ones that the west notices, because all of social media, and honestly, all of power, is held by America and the west. We don't talk about genocides that have been happening for centuries and problems like caste that pervade south Asian and the treatment of indigenous populations in different countries because Americans don't talk about it.
The only reason the world is noticing Palestine is because the west decided to take interest, and the only way Palestine will be free and all these problems will be brought into the world's eye is through the west's (and Americans') continued interest.
Look into these problems, talk about these problems. We wear jeans and watch American shows and eat from American food joints. The kind of soft power you guys hold is unimaginable. Use it.

saw this tag re: malaysia banning israeli ships and i just want to note that the gov has not just banned israeli owned ships but ships registered in any country that is travelling to or from israel as well as any ship carrying cargo that is meant to end up in israel, and banning ships from picking up cargo in malaysian ports that they intend to sell to israel. whoever owns the ship is irrelevant in that situation, because it will be banned from docking in malaysia.
another thing to note is that malaysia controls the strait of malacca which is the primary shipping route through southeast asia, particularly when shipping routes cross from the south china sea to the indian ocean and onward (and vice versa) and if ships can't dock in the strait of malacca they have to take a much longer route through indonesia. this decision essentially disrupts most trade through asia that is meant for israel, which is significant.

even KURUK was done so dirty by natla too - you know, going it alone in the spirit world was probably his greatest regret (though at least his animal guide was probably with him)
yeah my friend pointed out that the way roku was portrayed as uncharacteristically playful and charming while kuruk was just kind of flat and serious was not only mischaracterizing both of them in a way where if they had just reversed their personalities it would have made sense (what are they, zukka??) but indicative of anti-native racism by playing into the stoic native leader/elder trope even though that’s truly not what kuruk is at all, whereas roku is kind of the sage old asian man mentor, but you know, they do think to subvert THAT. no offense to ken leung and danny pudi who are innocent but this show was largely made by the most annoying asian americans, and it shows, such as in the fact that a single fire nation boat looks 100x better than the entire northern water tribe, or the fact that they uh. idk. cast a white guy to play sokka and didn’t even give a shit. justice for kuruk but also justice for every single water tribe character truly

RIP, Abe Shinzo.
It’s not in Taiwanese people’s nature to ever forget every kindly, friendly, helping hand from any corner of this world. That’s just not in our blood to do so. Especially when other countries were mostly talks no action. Japan has been standing with us, and we, you. We are always grateful for every support Japanese people ever offer. This friendship is important. We remember.

Absolutely heartbroken (but not surprised) about this.
The Supreme Court of India has refused to legalise same sex marriage in india on the basis that it should be up to the parliament to create laws and not the judiciary.
The parliament of the country comprises of the ruling and the opposing parties. For any bill to be passed, a majority members need to discuss and vote on it. Even if the ruling party is not in favour, the bill can be passed and turned into an act.
However, the current ruling party, does whatever the fuck it wants, surpassing the procedures mandated by the constitution to pass a law so it’s highly unlikely that the current government will be passing any laws for LGTBQIA+ marriages in India for the next few years.
This is a major setback for all of us as the Supreme Court is the highest court of law in the country and it has the rights and authority to make decisions that have to be adhered by the Parliament.
If the Supreme Court is not on our side, this is a losing battle for us all (for now). I had really high hopes from this judgement because Chief Justice Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud had raised some really valid points in our favor during the arguments.
I am deeply saddened by this.
To all my queer babies from India, I wish you all a kind day. We will not stop fighting. We will never quit.
Here’s to another day 🌻❤️

This is a few months old, but I haven't seen Asia Jackson’s complete response to Amy Schumer’s Islamophobic tirade on Tumblr yet, so I thought I would post it here.
