anon asked for a term like azurgirl but for queer masculinity, so i figured i'd do a rosboy term as well!

the flags are based on the rosboy and azurgirl flags with the top three stripes of each adjusted to represent queer femininity/masculinity. for lavenboy, i added a shade of mint and adjusted the pink and purple to be closer in shade; for violegirl, i added a shade of soft orange (since that's in both the butch and bear flags) and adjusted the blues to indigos.

since 'ros' and 'azur' were inspired by both flowers (roses and azures) and colors (pink and blue), i used the names of flowers associated with queerness whose names are also used as colors, lavender and violet!

These Magical Kids were requested by Anonymous and were first seen in this sketchbook post!

Rosboy and Azurgirl are terms and flags coined by @neopronouns describing a feminine boy/someone who considers themself male but has a significant connection to femininity and a masculine girl/someone who considers themself a girl but has a significant connection to masculinity!

Both of these Kids share a Circus theme- specifically, the Rosboy Kid has a Tightrope Walker/Trapeze Theme while the Azurgirl Kid has a Ringleader/Magician theme! Rosboy uses He/They Pronouns while Azurgirl uses She/He Pronouns!

Azurgirl’s name is Carolina, after a shade of blue! She can summon ropes made of light, which are usually used by her partner to tightrope or trapeze. It takes a lot of trust!

Rosboy’s name is Schauss, after a shade of pink! He can disappear and reappear somewhere else- he usually does this at Carolina’s direction, so he’s essentially a Magician’s Assistant. Their favorite trick to do together is to appear in locked boxes and kick it open.

Carolina’s Magical Girl weapon is a pair of handcuffs that are inescapable unless Carolina likes you, while Schauss’s Magical Boy Weapon is a tiny parasol that will inexplicably allow the holder to float downwards.

A useless fact about this pair is that their relationship is completely unexplainable. They met in college. They’ve known each other their entire lives. They’re in love. They’re best friends. They’re awkward. They’re flirty with each other. It’s all over. Common consensus is that they’re crushing on each other but think the flirting the other one is doing is just a bit and don’t want to say anything in case it ruins their friendship.

Rin is an azurgirl and hyperromantic, and Len is a rosboy and hypersexual. I assumed base Virtual Singer versions for this.

Don't come at me for headcanoning Len as hypersexual. This has a lot to do with his songs, and teens can be hypersexual.

A genderqueer woman.

A woman who has a complex relationship with gender.

Being a woman but feeling as if your gender is maingender/mingender.

Being a woman but refering to yourself as a man.

Some may use masculine pronouns, bind, or take hormones.

It is not specifically exclusive to woman who have some sort of connection to manhood or masculinity but can be used by any women who has no connection with feminity or little to no connection with womanhood (that includes women who are connected to androgyny, neutrality, or anything else), or (as said before) goes beyond what would be considered typical of a tomboy, or just has a complex relationship with gender.

It is not specifically for any gender modality in particular so anyone can use it as long as they are a girl/woman in some way.

It can also be used as a gender on its own.

It may be similar to femil and butch, however unlike butch it is not lesbian exclusive and can be anyone with any orientation.

It can also be used by women/girls who are neomasculine or neo-boy-aligned.

since 'ros' and 'azur' were inspired by flowers (roses and azures), i wanted to reference flowers in these terms as well. 'alba' is from 'ipomoea alba', the moonflower, since the moon is commonly associated with femininity, and 'annu' is from 'helianthus annuus', the common sunflower, since the sun is commonly associated with masculinity!
