"Do the thing!"

It was a sudden squeal, almost as if you'd been holding it back for a while. Not to mention, the walk back to his place had been comfortably silent the whole time before, your hand in his with both stuffed off in his coat pocket in order to shield them from the cold, winter weather.

Although, the squeezes you would give occasionally should've been somewhat of a warning sign. Billy just figured it was a silent, "I love you" of some sort, returning the action every time with butterflies in his chest that kept him warm.

He never would've guessed them as a sign for an incoming fangirl moment. And so, to be sure...

"What thing?"

Not that he wasn't genuinely confused, of course.

"Ya'know... the thing that I like?"

He looked down at you, met with your beaming smile back up at him that brought on one of his own. Still unsure, though, merely repeating the words you had jingled to him all of the sudden back to you in a tone of skepticism.

"The thing you like?"

"Yeah!" You chriped, waiting for him to catch on excitedly, only to be mildly disappointed when that moment never came and he shook his head in dismiss.

"...I don't know, I'm still lost."

"Billy, noo..." You whined, nudging him a bit with your side as the walk continued. "Pleaseeee?"

"What thing?!"

And before you could fully explain yourself, you saw a look in the emerald of his eyes that told you he was faking, the boy having caught on by this point and leaving you to huff and turn away.

"...Stop, you know what I'm talking about, you're just being mean."

Deep chuckles came from his chest, Billy nodding to himself in amusement after you had realized he was teasing you. And, because it was in his nature, he continued to do so until you would ask properly.

"You're right, I do know. I just wanna hear you say it."

"Mncht." You clicked your tongue but didn't give in to the vexing feeling of your boyfriend complicating the process, keeping strong at your pleads in hopes to simply just wear him down.

"Billyyy...please do the thing? Please?"

"C'monnnn..." He urged, nudging his shoulder with yours, and was satisfied with the roll of your eyes and his implied directions followed.

"Hmff... Can you pleaaase say the word? Please?"

"You want me to say the word~?" He repeated, this time with a tone of flirtatiousness that you willingly succumbed to, snuggling up to his arm almost too cheesy for your own liking as you gave an eager, "Yes!"

"Mmm, I dunnooo'..."

This boy and his need to taunt, you swore, would be the death of you...! And yet, it was charming enough for you to let it slide.

No, he was charming enough for you to let it slide. Shaggy brown hair and gorgeous green eyes and those cute dimples whenever he flashed you that winning smile...

Plus, you had been on the verge of geeking out the whole day out with him. Your boyfriend is a superhero for Christ's sake! Of course you'd want to randomly see the magic of it all from time to time! And it's not like you ever knew him to shy away from amazing you whenever he could. So...

"Please-please-please with a lot of maraschino cherries on top?"

Billy laughed at your specifics, already in the midst of guiding you towards a secluded area away from crowds and bystanders.

"Okay, okay, but only because you asked so nicely."

"Yes, yay-yay-yay...!!"

Your cheers and giggles of excitement went hushed by your own hands, waiting in anticipation as Billy took some safety steps back away from you and gave one last look around the area. When he was sure he was in the clear, he granted you your wish. Did just as you asked...

He said the word...

"SHAZAM!!"

...and with a thunderous crash of lightning and a blinding light for only a moment, he was transformed into his older, super-self, and you were laughing wildly through jagged gasps of amazement.

"AHAHAHAHA!!!"

A little bit of a crazy laugh, you'd admit later, but not the point-

"Yeah? How was that?!" Billy-... Shazam asked, his arms spread wide open as he walked closer to you.

"Super loud and scary!" You squealed, hopping around like a little girl who was seeing a fireworks show for the first time, the glowing emblem on his chest casting you and the entire alleyway in gold.

"Yeah?!" Shazam nodded in confirmation with a grin just as wide as your own.

"But it's so hot!!"

"Yeah, it is...!"

Billy's ego? Boosted.

Your fangirl levels? Off the charts.

Hotel? Trivago.

"Okay, now do it again, but back to you-you." You demanded requested, doing a small spin move with your index finger while Shazam dropped his arms to his side.

"Dude-"

"-Please?" You cut before he could provide any light scolds or reasons as to why he shouldn't. You were his girlfriend, and you were so cute looking up at him, expecting to see her boyfriend, now, and not some grown man version of him she... liked... but didn't truly care for.

"...Okay."

"Yay!" You clapped, moving yourself back this time to avoid a second lighting strike.

"SHAZAM!!"

And with that, he was back to himself, your Billy Batson, standing with his arms still open in hopes he'd impressed you the way you had assumed he would.

And god, did he go above and beyond.

"AHAHAHA, YOU'RE SO COOL, I LOVE YOU!!!" You nearly screamed, voice rasping over from the sheer amount of pressure you were putting on your throat.

"I love you, too! C'mere...!" He laughed, admiring your excited figure and the way you were already running towards for him to catch you in his arms in a warm hug.

It lasted for longer than you both expected, but was clearly needed as you enjoyed each other's presence and touch.

"You know what you reminded me of, lowkey?" Billy murmured, no need to be any louder when he was right by your ear.

"Hmm?" You hummed, face pressed into the crook of his neck, cold nose tickling his skin.

"...Do the roar."

You pulled away very slowly. Your face went about as cold as your feet were right now, staring deep into Billy's eyes with a look of pure disbelief.

He stared back. Grinning, head nodding as if to say, "Yeah? Right?" like a puppy.

"You know what?" You hummed gently, returning the smile softly while your vision trailed his features and then down to his chest.

"Yeah?"

You pointed directly to his heart.

"You...are amazingly talented..."

":D!?"

"...at ruining nice moments between us."

":0..."

You nodded, satisfied with yourself at the light tease.

"Mhm, yeah :)."

Sleep | Billy Batson

A/N: Takes place sometime after the first movie, interesting how superhero movies never discuss the trauma of literally almost dying lol this was requested - hope you enjoy!!

. . .

You're in that delirious state of dozing off; not quite awake, but not fully asleep. Sleep is beckoning you and you'll soon fall into its sweet embrace--

You shoot up, blankets getting tangled around your waist, arms swiping through the air.

"Hey, hey, hey! It's me. Freddy. It's Freddy. Geez, you almost took my eye out."

In the dark of the room you squint as your awareness seeps in. Freddy hovering by the bed with his hands held up.

"What the heck-" you look at Darla's sleeping form on her side of the room, "-the hell are you doing?"

Freddy quietly groans into his hands. "What do you think? It's Billy of course. Now scoot."

You contemplate kicking Freddy out of your room, turning over and tugging the blanket over your head. But then your traitorous brain forms an image of Billy in his room alone and you're getting up with a sigh.

"I hate you." You mumble as Freddy takes the spot on your bed, switching out your pillow for his.

He grins. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

The house is dark and quiet but you've made this small trip enough times that you could do it in your sleep, or sleep-deprieved as you currently were.

Billy is sitting on his bed, eyes blank as he stares at the window. He briefly looks over when you open the door, creeping through.

Immediately he objects, the guilt on his face clear. "Just go back to bed. I'm okay seriously."

"I almost believe that." You shake your head, climbing into the bed with him. "Same dream?"

He hesitates, fumbling with the blanket. "Yeah..."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No."

"Okay. Come here." You manage to snag some of the blanket, sinking down until you're comfortable enough to open your arms. Billy wraps himself around you, tension leaving his shoulders when you start to comb your fingers through his hair.

"Goodnight Billy."

You look down to see his eyes shut, breathing steady.

This was becoming routine. You didn't mind, even though Freddy complained about how it woke him up you knew he was worried about Billy. You all were.

Billy had been waking up from night terrors, waking up with the feeling of Dr. Sivana's hands on his throat as him, Billy, not Shazam. He had been embarrassed, seeing as no one else seemed to be suffering through the same thing but you always reassured him.

You kind of liked being able to soothe him, being the one to help him sleep through the night. And, it was funny seeing Freddy's annoyed face every night.

Sleep is calling your name once again when the door creaks open, Darla's sweet face popping through. She tiptoes to the bed, accepting the hand you offer to her.

"Is Billy going to be okay?' She whispers, snuggling up to your other side that isn't weighed down by Billy.

You look down at his face, completely relaxed as he starts to snore. It makes you smile.

"Yeah, Darla, I think so. He's Billy."

She mentions going back to bed, but her eyes are drooping shut with every second and she's quickly passed out on your shoulder.

Billy would be okay eventually.

[Extra]

"Hey, notice how everyone ends up leaving the room once Freddy gets there?" Billy says to you over breakfast.

You laugh. "Yeah, because it's Freddy. He's so weird."

"I'm literally sitting next to you. I can hear what you're saying." Freddy cuts in, rolling his eyes.

You share a look with Billy, an agreement flashing between you. He picks up his plate and grabs yours while you get the cups.

"Didn't realize he was in the room."

"Yup. Gotta go."

"I hate you both!" Freddy calls to your retreating forms.

Anyways I was wondering if you could do a fic with Freddy x reader where reader is popular and asks him out and they started dating but Freddy’s family think reader is so paying a joke on him (cause she’s popular and he’s not) so they’re not really nice to her. Then reader gets upset cause she really likes Freddy and wants to make a good impression so Freddy gets like mad at his family and u choose the rest

Looking Through Your Window

Billy had decided to follow you home. 

It wouldn’t be the first time he had done so but it was the first time in which he was this angry while following you. Normally he would be content with following you and watching you from your bedroom window. He had to hide himself well because your apartment was small and your family seemed to be everywhere. Even your room held no privacy since you had to share it with your brother. 

It didn’t matter though as long as he could see you.

There were days when he was lucky and he would hide outside while the house was almost entirely empty with you being the exception. On those days he got to see sides of you no one else would ever see. 

Some days it was you singing songs off-key while cleaning, others it was you dancing along to songs you played on your phone. His favorite days however were the days in which he had to actively hold himself back from barging into your room. The days where you closed your curtains and he had to get as close to the window as he could so he could sneak a peek.

The days where he caught you touching yourself. 

He can’t exactly pinpoint when his infatuation with you started. He just remembers taking notice of you after some chance encounters. The time you offered to help him with a math problem. Repentinamente um bipe alto surgiu e então a criatura explodiu, criando um grande buraco na área que seria ombro e pescoço, desorientado momentaneamente. Nesse momento, mesmo o lanterna verde confuso pela situação aproveitou a brecha encerrando o adversário com seus poderes.

Os heróis na sala se entreolharam e Batman reproduziu um clipe apenas dos momentos que a sombra surgiu, notavelmente em vários momentos da briga antes mesmo de ter sido mais notado nas costas do maior de todos.  — Mas então a pessoa estava ajudando, certo? — Flash pontou.

— Eu sinceramente não pensei muito nisso no dia, mas agora — Hal, moveu um pouco a mão apontando para a tela. — Faz sentido. Batman seguiu com os clipes de momentos por várias cidades, alguns eram seguidos no mesmo local e outros apenas de um outro incidente menor, entretanto entre atitudes diretas durante ataques também havia capturas de criminosos procurados, onde no vídeo melhorado e editado era possível ver a pessoa no fundo saindo de cena, mas sempre conseguindo evitar as câmeras de uma luta completa. Os clipes se estenderam até mesmo a cidades onde não haviam heróis trabalhando oficialmente e câmeras captaram as similaridades. 

O jovem recostou na cadeira intrigado, mesmo nos clipes mais trabalhados digitalmente a figura era dificilmente muito reconhecível, no máximo sua silhueta e nos dois que foi mais visível a forma era borrada e distorcida por algum motivo que o herói de Gotham disse não saber como ou porque. 

A situação foi passada adiante com algumas discussões do que poderiam ser o objetivo do meta-humano assim pontuado por Batman e Flash que desconfiaram do deslocamento anormalmente rápido da pessoa. Os próximos tópicos da reunião foram mais comuns e repasses de horários de vigia e trocas de turnos solicitadas. — Espero que todos fiquem atentos ao movimento dessa pessoa e qualquer tentativa de contato direto da parte desconhecida, reportem imediatamente. — O homem moveu os braços por baixo da capa. — Suas atitudes podem estar sendo benéficas, mas podem estar acobertando um plano mais elaborado. — Naquele ponto Billy não queria presumir, mas acenou com a cabeça como muitos, ele não precisava de mais um inimigo e nem seus amigos considerando quantos eles já tinham. As conversas seguiram para fora da sala, com planos para o resto da semana, histórias sobre seus dias e até lutas recentes. Enquanto Capitão se divertia com uma das histórias contadas por Hal sobre uma das aventuras no espaço e desastre quase embaraçoso, nada perigoso, se não para o próprio homem, ele passava sua segunda xícara de café. O velocista olhou para ele interrogativamente, mas o maior apenas deu de ombros, afinal aquela era uma boa marca de café, de primeira se pudesse opinar.  — Eu sinceramente sei que eles tem que por uma trava de segurança naquilo! — Hal pontuou fortemente movendo as mãos.

— Imagino que sim, não queremos que outra pessoa caia lá, certo? — O rapaz comenta com humor terminando de servir a caneca, o aroma da bebida subindo no ar.

— Capitão, você tem bebido café ultimamente? — Desta vez a pergunta veio de Diana, que passava na cozinha e observou a conversa e risadas altas.

— É tão estranho assim? — Indagou ele quase fazendo um beicinho, o que arrancou uma risada baixa do velocista próximo.

— Não, apenas diferente. — Respondeu a outra de maneira leve. — Quantas você já bebeu até agora? 

— Está é só a minha segunda. — Apontou rapidamente.

— Quinta. — Hal disse entre uma tosse olhando para longe. O rapaz afastou a caneca do rosto e encarou o amigo com os lábios abertos.

— É mentira! — Exclamou, mas não parecia ter nenhum pingo de irritação em sua expressão. Alguns heróis ali pelas mesas riram da interação observando a cena divertida.  — Apenas a sua segunda do dia? Você sabe que nunca para na segunda grandão. — A cozinha repentinamente se tornou silenciosa. O homem piscou um pouco confuso, antes de perceber uma alteração suave no seu ombro e então a caneca foi tirada das suas mãos grandes. 

— Ei! — Ele virou e encontrou bem ao lado da sua cabeça certamente a alteração que sentiu.  Duas pernas cruzadas passavam pela frente do corpo dele mexendo os pés no ar, rapidamente ele olhou para cima procurando o rosto da pessoa com as sobrancelhas franzidas. Tinha uma pessoa literalmente sentada no ombro dele. Ele vasculhou a pessoa acima, a postura relaxada e a cabeça um pouco inclinada para trás, bebendo seu café, antes da pessoa abaixar o item e estalar um som satisfeito após um longo gole. 

Duas coisas ocorreram neste pouco tempo, primeiro: A cozinha que mal era escutado um som além de respirações se tornou um alvoroço de heróis pulando e afastando-se ligeiramente para analisar a pessoa totalmente desconhecida, exclamações e poderes ativos defensivamente e armas em punho. Entretanto, a segunda coisa foi um sorriso completo, ao estilo brilhante e genuíno no rosto do herói musculoso que sorriu para o rosto.  — Bunny! — A cozinha caiu em silêncio novamente, alguns heróis piscando quase simultaneamente, outros simplesmente estagnaram ou sacudiram a cabeça.  Capitão usou a mão do braço ocupado para segurar a canela da pessoa com o sorriso inabalável. — Bunny?? — Barry tinha o queixo caído com uma expressão exasperada e confusa passando muito rápido pelo rosto dele.  Como se voltasse a lembrar das demais pessoas, a figura piscou algumas vezes e virou o rosto quase encapuzado para os demais na sala. Um sorriso leve recebeu os heróis, junto às sombras feitas pelo capuz e uma máscara de dominó customizada. A indagação exasperada do velocista também pareceu acordar o herói envolvido que voltou a cabeça para os amigos e corou um pouco com a situação à frente. Ele teve que engolir o xingamento que borbulhou.  — Olá a todos. — A figura acenou com a mão que segurava a caneca.

— Capitão, você conhece esse pessoa? — Diana que observava tudo com o laço em punho indagou firmemente ao outro.

— Sim! Por favor não precisamos disso, isso é um mal entendido-

— Então qual significado disso, Capitão? — Batman observava a cena com um olhar reprovador. — Você autorizou um desconhecido a acessar a torre da liga da justiça?

— Não, eu não fiz!

— Claro que não. — Billy afirmou primeiro seriamente e um pouco confuso, enquanto a figura negou levemente com a cabeça e balançou o líquido na caneca lentamente, ambos em uníssono. 

— Então me esclareça, quem é você? — Batman olhou para a pessoa. — E o que isso tem haver com você Capitão? — O rapaz reconheceu aquele olhar desaprovador, ele já recebeu antes e nunca conseguia se acostumar com ele, mesmo com o passar dos anos. O rapaz estaria suando naquele momento, seriamente nervoso, afinal ele não queria que fosse assim. Nada deveria ser dessa maneira conflituosa, mas como sempre as coisas tendiam a sair um pouco dos eixos. — Cap! Você não contou sobre mim! — A pessoa levantou a mão livre com um punho fechado e esfregou no alto da cabeça do homem bagunçando os fios pretos para todos os lados.

— Bunn- ah. J, por favor não. — A pessoa desviou o olhar enquanto bebia mais da bebida. 

— Responda. — Batman pediu novamente em tom mais sério. 

— Bem, já que alguém nunca contou sobre mim. — Bufando para o maior logo abaixo de si que resmungou, a pessoa limpou a garganta. — Olá, de novo, vocês podem me chamar de Jumper, sou uma heroína novata. — A jovem cumprimentou educadamente. 

— Isso não nos explica nada. — Superman comentou estreitando um pouco os olhos, enquanto isso Billy suspirou antes da pessoa sentada no ombro dele erguer uma sobrancelha. 

— Achei que nessa altura vocês já soubessem quem eu sou ou no mínimo estivessem me procurando. — Dando de ombros, a outra retornou ao café com tranquilidade.  Um pouco confusos os heróis se entreolharam, mas Flash parecia pensativo olhando a cena enquanto o herói usado de banco, além de não se importar negava levemente com a cabeça, mas ainda mantinha uma mão segurando a pessoa. — Você é a pessoa dos vídeos de segurança. — Batman atirou a notícia. 

— O que?!

— Mas como eles estão aqui? 

— Capitão?  As perguntas se embaralham antes do cavaleiro das trevas dar um passo à frente. Desta vez analisando seriamente o indivíduo a frente, que voltou a ficar neles após outro longo gole. Nenhum sinal significativo de tensão, guarda baixa e expondo pontos vitais, além de estar permitindo o toque deliberado do herói e isto em primeira instância sem adicionar as análises mais profundas que o outro fazia.  — Você conhece o Capitão Marvel e são próximos. — A figura riu um pouco antes de abaixar o capuz, deixando a máscara e feições mais expostas. 

— Próximos, hein? — A jovem olhou para baixo. — Conte-nos mais, Billy. — Sim, certo ele esqueceu como a outra podia usar o nome dele naquele tom. A liga não reagiu muito porque o herói já tinha contado que poderiam chamá-lo pelo seu primeiro nome. Ela sorriu balançando os pés, parecendo ligeiramente irritada.

— Eu queria contar de uma maneira mais tranquila, não pensei que você fosse invadir a torre da liga. — O rapaz soltou a perna dela para apontar o lugar. — Além disso, é você nas gravações? Sério, J? 

— Bem, eu disse que queria achar uma cidade para atuar e você parece estar lidando muito bem com Fawcett, não ia me intrometer — Explicou ela. — e eu estava treinando também. — Pontuou rapidamente bagunçando mais os fios escuros.

— Eu ainda estou totalmente perdido. — Flash moveu as mãos no ar, mas certamente já tinha abandonado a posição de luta, como alguns heróis, apesar de estarem claramente desconfiados.

— Sério, nem uma pista? — A jovem indagou um pouco indignada erguendo as mãos no ar. — Eu sou a namorada de Billy. A cozinha caiu naquele silêncio novamente enquanto o herói mencionado corou um pouco esfregando a nuca, tentando usar toda coragem de Aquiles para aquele momento. Antes do local explodir em exclamações, algumas interrogativas, outras em suspeita, aquelas que eram até felizes e assim por diante.  — Certo… — Superman levantou uma mão para segurar a ponte do nariz. — Isso ainda não explica como você, Jumper, entrou na torre sem permissão. 

— Existe nenhum lugar na terra que eu não possa entrar se estiver nas condições adequadas. — A jovem explicou breve, mas sem detalhes. 

— Jumper, você não apenas invadiu uma instalação de alta segurança da liga da justiça na presença de muitos dos membros presentes, o que por si só já acarreta em sérias consequências, como também tem agido de maneira suspeita em diversas cidades pelo país com suas ações recentes. — Batman tinha um dos seus famosos olhares penetrantes do morcego e Capitão Marvel segurou a canela da jovem com alguns tapinhas.

— Por favor, Jumper, explique tudo. — Pediu o maior levantando o olhar para a namorada. — Até porque, eu também estou seriamente confuso com as filmagens, você não me contou nada disso.

— Sim, claro. — Começou a heroína. — Me desculpem pelo susto, eu considerei que vocês já poderiam estar me procurando de qualquer maneira, então decidi tomar uma abordagem mais direta. — Levantou as mãos em rendição. — Realmente não estou procurando problemas. Foi uma brincadeira, aparecer aqui, o que eu vejo agora que pode ter deixado tudo mais confuso do que já parece, sinto muito. 

— Nós aceitamos suas desculpas, Jumper. — Superman sorriu um pouco, claramente bem menos tenso, mas ela podia notar que ninguém ali realmente estava despreparado. — Mas, como Batman apontou, queremos explicações sobre a situação. — O homem continuou um pouco mais sério. — Sobre sua viagem pelas cidades e a invasão. 

— Estou disponível para responder o que precisar — Mas ela rapidamente levantou o dedo. — que não envolva minha identidade secreta. — Sorriu negando com o dedo indicador, isso claramente acertou um nervo no herói de Gotham que estreitou as lentes brancas para a outra.  Os heróis então decidiram que voltariam à sala de reunião e chamariam os demais que se dispersaram mais cedo para uma reunião de última hora. A heroína já tinha se separado de Capitão, mas ainda assim atraíam olhares constantes dos demais que ainda estavam estupefatos ou descrentes com a notícia dita na cozinha. De certa forma também receberam olhares um pouco mais sérios e questionadores.  Por outro lado, você, jumper estava notando e supondo alguns olhares que recebia de muitos heróis ali. Desconfiança, curiosidade, até nervosismo ou seriedade. Billy bem que avisou sobre as tendências de Batman, porém também não é como se você não soubesse do histórico dele, é o cavaleiro das trevas afinal. — Jumper, você poderia começar nos explicando sobre suas ações nas cidades e o motivo? — Superman estava sentado numa cadeira próxima a jovem de pé, em outra cadeira próximo Billy observava tudo de perto. 

— Como disse anteriormente, eu estava treinando meus poderes e demorei um tempo para compreender como eles funcionam, — Começou a explicar. — faz pelo menos um ano que realmente consegui achar uma maneira eficiente de melhorar minhas habilidades e evoluí-las, foi quando eu comecei a ajudar das sombras. — Sorriu um pouco, olhando para Billy. 

— Um ano? — Batman tinha os dedos cruzados próximo ao rosto, observando. 

— Eu fui mais discreta no início, — Sorriu um pouco, fazendo a carranca do outro franzir um pouco mais. Antes de estalar o dedo no ar. — Sabem aquela explosão no laboratório do Lex Luthor que tentaram pôr a culpa nos heróis? — Lembrou apontando a mesa. — Eu tirei duas baterias das três bombas, elas deveriam criar uma reação em cadeia, mas eu já estava de olho no Luthor e foi fácil sabotar o plano dele. Infelizmente, por tempo curto não consegui desarmar todas. 

— A explosão foi grande o suficiente. — Superman pareceu confuso.

— Mas não tão catastrófico e nós realmente achamos três indicativos de origens de explosão, simultâneas. — Flash moveu um pouco a mão no ar. — Se ela realmente tirou essas baterias de alimentação que quebrou a reação em cadeia, então tudo faz mais sentido. 

— Uhum. — Acenou positivamente. — Algumas invasões aqui na terra eu mandei coisas para longe dos invasores, baguncei equipamentos, troquei informações por dentro. — Deu de ombros. — Não foi um trabalho tão direto. 

— E ainda assim não sabemos como você fez tudo isso. — Diana lembrou, levantou os olhos para a amazona. Ela não parecia tão cética quanto à sua presença.

— É minha habilidade, — moveu um pouco os ombros. — Você precisa de um pouco de neve do Himalaia? — Indagou a sala, fazendo com que vários heróis piscassem confusos. — Grandão, me empresta seu comunicador? Essa coisa tem vídeo chamada, certo? — Perguntou a Billy, com um pequeno sorriso e o rapaz tentou não rir enquanto estendia o item, sendo observado por vários heróis.

— Capitão. — O morcego advertiu.

— Eu devolverei inteiro, exatamente como está — Mostrou o item. — Olho na tela — Apontou o objeto logo atrás de você. — e me deem um segundo. — Piscou antes de sumir em pleno ar com um zumbido fraco. Houve exclamações pela sala. 

— Confiem nela, por favor. — Pediu Capitão Marvel com um pequeno sorriso, tentando tranquilizar os amigos.  Então, repentinamente a tela da sala de reunião piscou e a identificação de chamadas mostrou o capitão marvel chamando. O homem sorriu e voltou seu olhar para o homem mais velho. Batman aceitou a chamada.  — Alto do Himalaia. — Você acenou para a câmera e os ventos fortes quase abafaram sua voz, os heróis encararam a tela surpresos. Girou no lugar mostrando a paisagem branca, meio enevoada. — Eu sei, vou levar uma lembrancinha. — Agachou fazendo uma bola de neve e acenou para câmera. A ligação se encerrou. Em seguida, menos de um piscar de olhos e você apareceu sacudindo o corpo, flocos de neve saindo. Alguns heróis entreabriram os lábios, mas não souberam exatamente o que dizer com isso. — Vou dizer, muito frio, nada divertido e pouco oxigênio. — Estendeu a mão mostrando a bola de neve e botou em cima da mesa, Barry apareceu logo ali pegando a esfera.  — É de verdade. — Pegou a bola de neve com ele antes de sumir novamente e voltar em um novo piscar de olhos.

— Oh, eu só fui deixar na pia, pode ir conferir se quiser. — Explicou batendo a neve das mãos.

— Você é uma velocista? — O guerreiro de marte, até o momento silencioso, se pronunciou em um tom neutro. Sinceramente você quase podia esquecer que ele estava lá. 

— Não. — Você sacudiu as mãos e Barry fez um beicinho, ambos negando em uníssono.

— Ela não se move rápido, eu poderia ver. — Flash explicou antes de voltar a sua cadeira em um vulto. — Não, ela simplesmente some no ar. 

— Exatamente. — Sorriu para o outro. — Por isso o nome, Jumper. — Pontuou. 

— Nesse caso, você pode se teleportar. — Batman concluiu. 

— Basicamente, — Trocou o peso do corpo para outra perna enquanto se sentava próximo a Billy. — eu posso ir e voltar de qualquer lugar, me dê o necessário e eu faço o trabalho. — O herói de Gotham ergueu uma sobrancelha, esperando você continuar. — Assim eu vou tirar a graça, mas eu preciso de qualquer uma das coisas: ter estado em um lugar, ter acesso a uma foto recente desse lugar, vídeo ou ver com meus próprios olhos, independente da distância no mundo, para que eu possa me teleportar. — Explicou com tom mais sério. — Locais de memória também funcionam, é o que eu tento fazer.

— Então foi assim que você teve acesso a esse lugar. — Superman concluiu com um suspiro.

— Sim, sabe você deixam várias fotos da torre passar na mídia e entidades governamentais, — Respirou fundo. — um pouco de edição e um programa de refinamento eu consegui uma sequência de pequenas partes da torre, me deu uma clareza quase total da área comum que vocês tem — Deu uma pausa, respirando. — Depois disso foi só esperar a rotação correta da torre estar na mesma que as fotos e fazer o pulo.  A sala ficou silenciosa, os heróis se entreolharam um pouco mais até que o lanterna verde deu uma boa gargalhada, seguindo um pouco por Flash.  — Temos que rever esse filtro das janelas. — O herói esverdeado ergueu o polegar no ar, rindo. 

— … — O cavaleiro das trevas suspirou, adquirindo alguns quilos de cansaço quase instantaneamente. — A localização geral da torre nunca foi um segredo total, mas a exatidão dela é secreta. 

— Continuará assim vindo da minha parte. — Prometeu seguindo a seriedade do outro. — Eu realmente só quero ajudar, — Explicou com um sorriso calmo. — Desculpem pelo susto, sendo sincera eu pensei que encontraria talvez um ou dois heróis junto com Billy. — Riu um pouco nervosa olhando o rapaz. — Nada de olhinhos de cachorro. — Avisou ao outro.

— Você poderia ter me avisado, você nunca disse nada. — Billy suspirou e você entendeu, ele sabia das suas habilidades é claro, mas você sempre disse que não se envolvia diretamente com nada.  No fim acabou se tornando um acordo não dito entre ambos, você nunca perguntava demais sobre a contraparte herói dele a não ser que ele quisesse desabafar, o que é a maioria dos casos, enquanto ele nunca perguntou muito sobre sua contraparte. Além disso, você queria fazer uma surpresa para o outro, já que faziam quatro meses que estavam juntos e queria ter certeza que ele estaria bem quando você anunciasse que é uma heroína ativa como ele. — Era para ser uma surpresa. — Deixou alguns tapinhas na mão dele, não querendo deixar os demais desconfortáveis pela demonstração, mas claramente foi o contrário já que os demais pareciam surpresos. 

— Cara, isso é uma coisa que eu não via chegando. — Flash comentou esfregando os olhos. Alguns riram com isso, afinal era Cap de quem estavam falando e ninguém tinha jamais visto ele no mínimo dar atenção diferente a ninguém. Então descobrir que ele já estava namorando, apesar de ainda não saberem o tempo, foi uma surpresa que ainda estava sendo processada.  A situação continuou sendo debatida, os dois fundadores da liga foram bem diretos em seus pontos e você compreendeu plenamente. Sabendo que a sua intromissão nas missões não foi ruim, na verdade sendo de grande ajuda depois que você continuou dando detalhes e promete voltar com algumas informações que estava juntando de casos ocultos. Entretanto, você não foi chamada para liga, porém você também não esperava que fosse, então acenou e disse que não precisava estar lá, qualquer ligação a hora que fosse e talvez até sem uma ligação, você estaria mais do que disposta a ajudar todos eles. Billy permaneceu próximo a você durante a conversa, mas diferente do que pensou ele não estava tão tenso. 

Quando tudo finalmente foi esclarecido, você se levantou junto com Cap e saíram conversando baixo e sorrindo um para o outro. Os demais heróis observaram a troca com diversas reações diferentes.  — Você não está chateada por não se juntar a liga? — Escutaram Billy perguntando para você, mesmo sabendo de uma pequena plateia e afinal de contas pelo menos metade dos heróis ali tinha super audição. 

— Não, Billy. — Sorriu um pouco para ele. — Eu ainda vou ser uma heroína mesmo que não me junte a liga. — Segurou o braço dele enquanto caminhavam.

— Não acredito que você realmente foi no Himalaia para pegar neve. — Ele riu baixinho ao seu lado. 

— Eu deveria ter ido até a Torre de Pisa. — Comentou pensativa. — Vou guardar essa para a próxima vez, quem sabe com os titans. — Virou um pouco para ele.

— Você não tem jeito. — Billy sorriu parando perto da bancada e você colocou as mãos na cintura. 

— Pronto para ir? Você tem que ir patrulhar. — Lembrou. 

— Sim, espero que Silvana não tenha preparado um ataque duplo. 

— Bem, ainda posso deixar ele no Grand Canyon. — Cruzou os braços antes de revirar um pouco os olhos. 

— J, você não pode espalhar os vilões pelo mundo toda vez que eles atacam.

— Bem, foi engraçado quando eu fiz isso com Adam. — Riu inclinando a cabeça para frente. 

— Ele chegou segundos depois.

— O ponto não é esse, a graça é confundir eles. — Explicou juntando as mãos, pontuando.

— Cap, já está indo? — Superman veio caminhando até eles. — Gostaria de lembrá-lo da troca de turnos. — O kriptoniano olhou entre ambos. 

— Tudo certo. — Bill acenou confirmando. 

— Vamos, temos que apostar corrida pela cidade depois da patrulha. — Apareceu sentada no ombro dele novamente. — Você ainda me deve por roubar da última vez. — Cutucou a bochecha dele, antes de acenar para os outros se despedindo. 

— Tchau pessoal. — Foi a última coisa que o rapaz disse com um aceno antes de os dois desaparecessem da área.

— E é claro que ela pode levar pessoas com ela. — Hal ergueu as mãos no ar e saiu caminhando.

— Por incrível que pareça, eles combinam. — J'onn comentou observando alguns dois heróis acenando. 

— Espero que isso apenas não queira dizer mais problemas. — Batman contemplou. 

— Não acredito que seja o caso, apesar da pequena tendência caótica, a jovem parecia verdadeiramente interessada em ajudar. — Diana observou tranquilamente.

— uh. — Murmurou o morcego por fim.

Sim, para quem pegou, a reader é uma referencia ao filme Jumper, sei que existem livros e eles estão marcadados para eu ler hehe. Sempre achei o conceito legal e na minha opnião é um poder muito forte se usado corretamente :D.

Para quem não me conhece, devo confessar, eu adoro cenas de luta. Claro, eu posso tentar escrever coisas romanticas, engraçadas e angst, mas eu tenho uma coisa pela ação, sabe? “And they posted ANOTHER Tik Tok! Can you believe that?!” Damian rants as Jon pours himself another bowl of cereal.

“Uh-huh.” He reply’s, hoping Damian will realise how ridiculous he sounds.

“I can’t believe this. It’s like we aren’t even friends anymore. Like she’s forgotten us and we are the background characters!” Damian continues making Jon roll his eyes in silence. “Did you just roll your eyes at me Kent?! This is serious! Look at her account, they already have 11 videos together, isn’t that just weird?!”

Jon mutters an agreeable hum now rinsing his bowl in the sink. “That’s cool Dames, thanks for calling me just to talk about Y/n and Billy for…” Jon taps his phone screen and sees the video call timer showing 56 minutes. “An hour…”

“Don’t call me Dames! And it’s been 56 minutes Kent. Perhaps summer school is in your future.” Jon groans at Damians semantics. “I’ll come pick you up, I’ll be there in 20 minutes.”

“Wait what?” Jon sputters as he rechecks the video call to see Damian sitting in a bat ship. “Dude, no, I have to help my mom with the farm.”

“TT, you should’ve told me that before I got in the batship! It’s too late, I’m coming over, picking you up and we are going to Y/n’s house to film Tik Toks to show that intruder who her real friends are.”

Opening the front door you see non-other the Damian standing with a glare and Jon standing sheepishly on your families front porch. “Dames, Jon? I wasn’t expecting to see you guys.” You announce surprised, waving them through to the lounge room where the intruder is found lounging, as if this was normal, as if he was here regularly.

“Batson.” Damian greets coldly, his nose turned up.

“Bat’s son.” Billy greets with a grinning smirk at Damian’s expression. “Jon! Good to see you man! It’s been so long!” Billy greets enthusiastically pulling Jon into a quick hug.

“Like wise.” He reply’s before pulling back and taking a seat next to Damian, avoiding his unspoken accusatory stare.

“Enough fratinising with the intruder!” Damian yells, making you scowl.

“The what? Damian-“

“No times for lectures!” Damian interrupts, “Whoever uploads the most Tik Toks with Y/n by end of the month, is crowned her true best friend!”

“Wha-“

“You’re on!” Billy agrees, fully bemused by Damian’s antics.

“This is stupid Dames.” Jon grumbles.

“What the hell Damian! You can’t just-“

“The winner will have an all expenses covered holiday of Y/n’s choosing paid by Wayne Enterprises.” Damian quickly adds making you shut your mouth instantly.

“… well best of luck guys.” You yield.

Diana really thought the end of September couldn’t come sooner.

Diana thought this whole scenario was harmless shenanigans. But considering it involved the Teen-Three, she really should’ve known better.

Diana was getting non-stop phone calls from the school and other parents with concerns and complaints at the inappropriate conduct, especially with Damian speeding dangerously through the parking lot in a super car to pick up her daughter to film Tik Toks and with Billy just randomly showing up in her daughters classes to film Tik Toks was really getting out of hand.

Diana resisted the urge to kill the kid’s fun at the request of her husband.

“Let the kids have their fun! When I was Y/n’s age, I was day drinking, smoking like a chimney and sleeping with…” Diana stares down her husband, daring him to finish his sentence. “… moral of the story, let the kids be.”

The winner turned out to be Jon, who came over last night and spent 1 minute recording a video, and proceeded to continuously reupload that video until mid-night.

Diana and her husband watched arguments and debates ensue whilst sipping their newly imported wine.

“These kids and their shenanigans, I swear.”

Billy Batson had been in the middle of stuffing your pillow with a freshly frozen icepack before both of your attentions had been pulled towards your TV, watching in alarm as some beastly creature continued to mutilate downtown Philadelphia. You couldn't quite make out its features, nor what it was exactly the reporter was saying, her newscaster-like tone and the picture on the screen all just a blur to you.

Too ill feeling to put some clarity on it, all you knew was that it was certainly dangerous and was definitely a call for superhero duty. Mildly delirious or not.

"Let me come with you...!" You boasted rather confidently for someone with flem still stuck in your nose, throat, and chest, and your head pounding so hard you regretted the act of shooting up in bed.

"Absolutely not." Billy rejected your demand immediately, turning back just to shake his head at you while you attempted at more protests.

"*cough* - But I can- I could help-"

Your voice strained terribly while more coughs interrupted, proving Billy's unspoken point more than enough. And even then, he'd still use the perfect timing of your sickly hacks to double down on it.

"And that's exactly why you're not coming. You need to rest so you can get better."

"Oh my god, it's just a cough. I'll be okay, I can do this."

Again, you were shot another shake of the head, along with a deadpanned look of disbelief as he made his way closer in order to stop you from pushing your blankets and sheets away.

"You can barely get up fast without feeling dizzy, but you think you can stop that?"

He pointed back at the TV, the monster actively knocking into buildings and wreaking havoc amongst crowds of running citizens.

You nodded as though you were an eager puppy, wide eyes staring back into his along with a lazy smile as if to fake like you were all better.

Unfortunately for you, Billy wasn't buying it.

"Yeah, no, lay down..."

"But-"

"And with luck, we'll have it all handled before dinner. I'll come back to check on you, 'kay?"

He hardly acknowledged your pleas, informing you that with help from his siblings, things would go smoothly. Without you.

Pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead before replacing it with a cool, damp rag, you tried a final attempt at convincing him to let you come along, fight the good fight rather than wallow in bad health.

"Billy..."

The simple call of his name and a pouty look during his urge into laying you down.

Pushing at your shoulders, he succeeded, smiling above you while you gave in to the warmth of your bed once more. He tucked you in and then backed away towards your window, opening it with the intention to jump while you watched, fighting sleep.

"I love you, (Y/N). Rest. Please."

With a pained sigh, both of disappointment and from the literal ache of your body, you did as told and heeded his words.

"Fine. I love you, too."

He smiled, and then, he was gone. A crack of thunder after a loud, "Shazam!!" the last thing you heard before forcing yourself not to worry any longer.

You'd trust your boyfriend and his siblings. Like he said, they'd surely have everything done and cleaned up by the time you finished your nap. No need for your appearance, taking some much needed recovery from the cold that ravaged your normal body.

"Look, ma'am, that's real sweet of you, but I-... You should really get outta' here!"

"But if I could just have you answer a few more questions, I mean...! I'm sure the public would love to know!"

"Who are you, Lois Lane? You've gotta be the most persistent reporter ever, lady...!"

It was the muffled shouts of adults that brought you back from your sleep some thirty minutes later. If you could even call it that. It was more like a delirious limbo, a point between consciousness and dreamland, all while a fever brewed and festered regardless of the now warm rag that coated over your forehead.

Hell, your pajamas could easily pass as the small towel on your head, drenched in your sweat while you groaned and pushed yourself up weakly. Your body continued to ache, nose stuffy and running at the same time, and god, did you want nothing more than to drink a gallon of water to soothe your sore throat.

Instead, you forced your eyes to open, squinting at the TV in hopes of gauging the situation that Billy assured you would be solved by now.

"bAcK tO cHecK oN y0u bEfOre dInNeR!" He had said, or something like that, which left you rolling your eyes now in the present. Half an hour later, he and his siblings were still struggling to clear out civilians from the scene! Had they even begun to tackle the beast that still roamed free on top of your beloved city? You figured not, considering you could quite literally feel the ground shaking due to its thunderous steps and loud roars.

You had to go. You couldn't not. It's very obvious they needed your help, at least with crowd control or as distraction, something! Whatever you could do to help, to save lives, you'd be more than happy to do it. Even while sick, even if it meant giving up some of your resting time to help those in need. It was what being a superhero was all about, wasn't it?

All of this power... there was no way you could just sit here and do nothing with it! Besides, it's not like anyone would really even notice that you were sick. Sure, you did get dizzy when you rose from the bed, standing on your own two feet. And yeah, your head pounded, and your nose caused your voice to dawn a nasal tone. But you could still fight, couldn't you?

You had to, with only one way to find out...

You went to your bathroom, scanning your medicine cabinet for the bottle of Cold & Flu medicine, and recklessly drank a few swallows straight from the bottle. You did so in hopes it'd hold you over for the next couple of hours, at the very least, curing your symptoms just enough to where your sickness wouldn't affect your performance.

With haste, you were back in your room, preparing yourself for the transformation from your regular self to your super-self, all with the use of the simple, magic word...

"Sha-...ahchoo...!"

Okay, that was gross.

Wiping your nose from the snot and clearing your throat with several "ahem"s and rough coughs, you tried again, moving yourself towards your window just as Billy had and checking to make sure there were no bystanders or any members of your family around to see you.

"Shazam!!"

"What about the monster?!" Darla shouted amongst the sea of endless screaming people and loud roars of the beast ahead, floating towards her brothers nearby with a look of concern dawning her adult features.

Billy's face mimicked hers, looking up at the beast and then back towards helpless people running in fear in all sorts of scattered directions. It was confusing, to say the least, but he'd do his best to make up for it as long as no one got injured on his watch.

"Uhh... I think we should keep clearing out people! They'll get hurt if we don't protect them!"

"But-!" Eugene started, though Billy clearly wasn't having it. One could even say the stress had gotten to him, this event definitely taking longer than anticipated with more public property being destroyed by the minute. Which meant longer clean-up duty. Which meant late dinner, which meant no time to check up on you, and-

"We'll get there when we get there!" Was his final (and pretty lax) answer, only for Freddy to swoop down and point out the next impending tragedy.

"Well, if we're gonna get there, we should get there now because it's gonna destroy the town hall!"

And it was true, the grotesque being merrily on its way towards arguably one of the most important landscapes in the city. Of course the townhall, of all buildings ever...

"Gee, thanks, Captain Obvious...!" Billy huffed, Freddy merely giving a two-finger salute in order to further solidify his frivolous behavior.

"You're welcome, Captain You-Obviously-Don't-Know-What-You're- Doing...!"

Pedro was next to return to the scene, his face twisted in oncoming question as his eyes shifted between the monster, the building, and back again.

"I mean... Do we really need the town hall? 'Cause it's super white and boring-"

"Pedro...!"

"I- What?!"

And finally, Mary. The wisest of the siblings, surely, and growing increasingly harrowed by the current events and the fact that her brothers and sister were not aiding in the fight whatsoever.

"Yes, we do need the town hall, and us standing around talking about it is not helping anything...!"

"What're we thinking?" Freddy murmured, having leaned over to Billy in hopes of their older sister not being able to hear them.

"Captain Bossy."

"Definitely."

A sudden battle cry caused their heads to snap up away from the monster and towards an incoming ball of lightning and fury. Your eyes glowed the same color as your supersuit, fist cocked back with the intention to slam every last bit of force and power you've accumulated onto your enemy. With a loud, cracking sound, it was safe to assume your hit had connected, your entire body colliding with the beast with so much force that the both of you went toppling over onto-

Oh...

"See? Told you we didn't need it." Pedro smiled and nodded, admiring your bravery and the fact you had managed to subdue the monster with one nearly fatal blow.

Mary, though unamused, marveled at the scene just the same before Billy gave a harsh sigh and a shake of the head.

"I told her to stay in bed..."

A mere moment had passed where you were in and out of consciousness (for the second time today, might I add), the only thing filling your vision being clouds upon clouds of smoke? Steam? Whichever the case, it caused an eerie, foggy atmosphere that didn't really seem to help your already mildly delirious state. Although, you had to admit, you were quite proud of yourself for taking down the threat in one go, having been pretty unsure of the amount of damage you'd be able to deal in your current state.

You slowly brought yourself to your feet, trying your best to squint through the "fog" in order to make out your whereabouts until you had looked down, taking notice of the weirdly textured road you stood on. It was a deep, deep maroon color. Rough and scaly, almost like a raisin and... moving?

You could've sworn that it - whatever you were standing on - was rising and sinking just the slightest. But, then again, you couldn't exactly trust your vision right now, the effects of your medicine kicking in with a weird, head-spinning affect that caused you to almost miss the loud shout of your name.

"(Y/N)!!" Billy called into the clearing mist, hands cupped over his mouth and very grateful in the moment that his adult voice was loud and deep. He was sure his calls could be heard from miles away, let alone a few feet, his worry growing when he still didn't receive a response despite that fact.

"Baby, where are you...?!"

A smile creeped onto your face at the pet name, turning and looking towards the sound of his voice. It was when the golden glow of his lightning emblem came into view that you allowed excitement to swell in your chest, calling back out to him with a squeal laced in your raspy voice.

"I'm down here, I'm okay! Did you see what I did?! I literally took it out with one punch!"

When Billy was finally able to catch sight of you, another breath of relief left his throat, hurrying towards your wobbly figure and steadying you once he felt your grip on his biceps.

"Yes, I saw, and I'm concerned because I thought I told you to stay in bed."

"Aww, c'mon, dude...!" You practically whined. "I'm totally fine, I literally feel fine! Plus, it was obvious you needed my help, so-"

"We had it handled, (Y/N)."

"Oh, is that why I-..." Harsh coughs cut into whatever attitude you were about to dunk on your boyfriend, stepping away to cover your mouth as he nodded knowingly.

"It doesn't matter when you're still sick and should be resting."

"It's *cough* fine, I'm *cough-cough* I'm fine."

He didn't have time to offer up more lectures with his deadpanned look, his siblings swift to join you two with gracious smiles of their own at your appearance and quick take down.

"That was sick, you know how sick that was?! If I could do an instant replay, I would because that was awesome!" Freddy gushed, blowing your ego higher than need be as Pedro offered up a fist bump. You returned it eagerly, only to pout again when Billy didn't hesitate to inform them all of your unfortunate status.

"You wanna know what else is sick? Her. She is. She's sick and really should not be here-"

"-But I am, and I did my part, and now everything's fine and you're just mad 'cause you're a hater...!" You huffed, being exaggerative with your arms and hands that caused Billy to give you a weird look.

"What are you, drunk?"

You took offense to the half-joking question, unsure as to why he'd ask such a thing when you felt perfectly fine and dandy. Like, cloud nine, hazy eyes, and the weird urge to run a marathon yet so, so sleepy at the same time.

"Am I drunk or am I sick, Batson, which is it?"

A pause, attitude dwindling.

"'Cause...'cause I dunno', either..."

He pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head once more in what could only be a mixture of dissatisfaction and worry.

"You took too much medicine before you got here, didn't you..."

Barely even a question, the obvious answer being yes, you could only scoff and toss your head to the side.

"No, just half the bottle..."

"That's way too much." Mary commented, nodding her head solemnly.

Before anyone could continue the odd conversation, the ground they stood on began to rise and fall a lot heavier than before.

"I knew it!" You shouted alarmingly loud, startling the siblings as they struggled to keep balance on the surface that was now beginning to rumble.

"Knew what?!" Freddy exclaimed. "What do you know?!"

"I thought I was hallucinating, but I'm not! We're not on the ground!" You informed, the shaking growing more violent by the second.

"What?!"

"(Y/N), please explain...!" Mary further urged, and before you could, a coughing fit stopped you from doing so and left everyone else in the dark, Billy trying his best to come to your side for comfort only for everyone to lose their balance the higher the "ground" rose.

Without second thought, Eugene flew upwards to get a better look at the entire scene, the rest of you quickly following in suit until you were all high enough in the sky to see that the monster was not yet finished with its rampage.

"(Y/N), hit it with another falcon punch!!" Freddy urged, Billy already shaking his head while giving an answer before you could.

"No, no, do not do that, she doesn't even feel well enough to be flying, look at her...!"

And it was true, your flying abilities suffering majorly from lack of health and increase of the medicine taking full affect making you drowsy and unfocused. You struggled to stay steady in the air, using Billy's arm as a crutch in case you were to suddenly drop from the sky. Hell, even the lightning emblem on your chest was dimming in and out as if you were literally on the verge from powering down while you spoke nasaly.

"He's...he's right, I feel- I'm pretty sure all of my power went into that one attack."

Freddy, dramatically, tossed his arms up into the air before dropping them at his sides.

"Oh, great, so we're screwed."

Protests from his siblings swiftly followed, all of them coming forth at the same time that left Freddy lifting his open palms up into the air in surrender.

"Oh, real nice, bro..." - "We're right here, y'know." - "Don't say that, we can do this...!" - "Okay, (Y/N)'s not the only one who can throw a punch, man!" - "Maybe if we spent less time talking and letting the sick girl do all of the work..."

"Sorry-sorry, my bad, I didn't realize you guys were so sensitive about this...!"

Fortunately, amongst the chaos of their words and the beast slowly rising from the ruins of Philadelphia's town hall for round two, your brain managed to fumble through half of a thought. An idea that could possibly work if executed correctly. A real plan, something that would help, which is what you came here to do, after all.

And sure, maybe you were too weak to carry it out alone, but the entire reason Billy had shared his power with you in the first place was because he trusted you. The same goes for all of his siblings. Because all of you together made a great team.

Besides, a half-assed plan was better than none at all.

So, without further ado...

"What-...What if y'all just... what if we stayed on the monster and then we just used our hands and then...boom. Right?"

You gained looks of concern and confusion at your nonsensical murmurs, the group making it known that whatever had just left your lips made zero sense to them even though you had been pretty confident in the fact that you came across perfectly clear.

Freddy was the first to prove otherwise, though, a barely audible, "...what?" leaving his throat as Billy gave you a look of sympathy and care.

"You're delirious, babe..."

"No, stop, I'm being serious...!" You croaked while pushing him away, which in hindsight, wasn't in your best interest when you were doing good just to stay afloat as well as dealing with an oncoming migrane. You fought to ignore that as well.

"Sounds like someone needs a nap." Eugene quipped, leaving Freddy and Darla to snicker to themselves while you gave what should've been a scoff, but what ended up coming out was more of a weak cough.

"Shut up, Eugene, I'm-!" Taking a second to gather your words, you tried again, doing your best to convey your plan once more.

"We all have lightning powers, don't we? We could land on the monster... and-and boom! Y'know?"

With the movements of your hands and fingers, you nodded as if to confirm that they understood this time around. Unfortunately, no one seemed to catch on, Mary the only one staring ahead rather than at you in confusion until something in her brain seemed to click, and she was suddenly coming towards you with a smile.

"Wait... Wait, I think I understand!"

"You do?!" You jinxed with your boyfriend, your words laced with a tone of relief and excitement while Billy's held more of a shock and surprise.

Mary nodded briskly, taking your hands in hers upon delivering her praise.

"Yes, (Y/N), you're a genius, oh my gosh! Why didn't I think of that?!"

With the two of you giving relieved laughs in understanding of one another, Darla was the first the point out the obvious for the rest of the group, leaving room for Mary to explain your plan much better than you had twice before.

"Am I the only one really confused right now?"

"Guys, we have to electrocute the monster, that's the only way it's going down. And I think, what (Y/N) means is, if we all use our powers together as much as we can like she did when she knocked it out, we'll generate enough electricity to do so."

"Yes!!" You confirmed with a mix of exasperation and relief in your hoarse voice, leaning your head against Billy's shoulder as if just the act of talking about your plan tired you out.

It made you wonder if you'd be strong enough to participate in executing, the feeling of letting down those around you much worse than any monster attacking the city or illness attacking your body.

Billy could sense this, raising and dropping the shoulder your head rested upon to grab your attention before delivering playful encouragement.

"Huh. Remind me never to doubt your sick-brain."

Sniffling, you nodded, appreciating his efforts and gaining back some of that lost confidence.

"Damn right."

It wasn't long before your plan had been put into action, one sibling distracting the monster long enough for another to land on it unsuspectingly until, one by one, all of you had your hands firmly planted on a part of its body. Counting down the seconds, you guys generated any and all electricity your bodies had stored into your hands and finally, found yourselves practically frying the beast to ash.

For the last time today, it fell. And thankfully, not on top of any more buildings. You were happy to witness it all, let alone be a part of it, nodding as if to pat yourself on the back for doing good. You certainly deserved it, you felt, seeing as all of your power went drained, and you were even too sick to stand. You convinced yourself to sit, leaning up against a large wall of rubble in attempts to recuperate.

"Just need to catch my breath..." You reasoned with yourself as though your eyes weren't half a blink away from fully closing.

"Need a second..." You coughed, head spinning with the urge to succumb to the cold that left even super-you ill-advantaged.

. . .

"(Y/N)...!!" Mary called into the debris, only having run into her own siblings rather than you. This worried her, especially once it had been revealed that you were fighting while sick. It also made her wonder why such mystical and magical abilities couldn't cancel out such a common flu or virus. She'd definitely be found reading up on the matter later, that's for sure...

But, until then, the search continued, Billy joining his older sister's side with a familiar concern he always harbored for you.

"(N/N)...!! Where you at, babe?!"

"You don't think she got crushed, do you?"

Mary rolled her eyes before lightly slapping the arm of her other brother, Freddy never one to learn to keep his badly timed jokes to himself.

"Don't say that, we're already worried enough...!"

"Agh-! I didn't mean it...!"

"There she is...!" Darla cheered, pointing up ahead to where you had peacefully laid yourself to rest.

Okay, that sounded a little morbid, but it's meant in the literal sense, not to worry.

Although it's not like they could tell the same, the view to them more of an alarming take on what should've been a more joyous reunion.

With super-speed Billy had almost forgotten he possessed, he was by your side in an instant, crouching down and allowing a giant wave of relief to wash over him when he was granted a clear look of your rising and falling chest. You were still breathing (thank god), and pretty heavily, he noticed, his gaze trailing upwards to inspect your face for any marks or bruises.

He found none, only the beads of sweat on your forehead and your eyes sunken in while you lightly snored, unable to breathe through your nose even in slumber.

"She's okay..." He had spoken to himself at first, a final act of reassurance he hadn't realized he needed before pulling himself together and turning back to shout.

"She's okay...!!"

Naturally, this woke you, your eyes fluttering open and a smile gracing your features at the sound of his voice.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." You apologized, fighting back a yawn as you placed a cold hand into Billy's warm one. "I was just...sleepin'. Tired."

"That's what you get for pushing yourself." He half-joked, granting you a smile of his own that brought some heat back to your cheeks.

"You should've stayed home." He reiterated for what seemed like the millionth time this late afternoon.

You laughed weakly, thankfully using Billy for support as the rest of the siblings approached, glad you were okay, up, and even trying to walk.

"That's all I wanted."

"Say the word." Billy coaxed, and for once, you heeded his advice and muttered it with the hopes that you'd suddenly return home. Safe, sound, and in your warm, cozy bed.

Alas, that was wishful thinking. Instead, you were transformed back to your regular self, gently held in Billy's adult arms with the warmth exuding from his lightning emblem lulling you back to sleep much faster than expelling large quantities of magical power ever could.

"I'm taking her home." He announced, sure of himself this time around before swiftly adding, "And she's gonna stay there...!"

As if you could actually hear him and his directive attitude, he looked down at your figure cuddled against him before going on.

"And hopefully, she'll be better soon enough for people to thank her."

"Hey, I think my sinuses are finally staring to clear up...!" You sniffled, basking in the glory that was a full, clear breath of air. Oh, how you missed air. How you missed breathing without issue, and-

Normally, you'd apologize for spreading your germs, possibly passing on your sickness to your boyfriend. But, right now, cuddled up against him and finding solace in his care was all you concerned yourself with, having already thanked him a million times as he let the news channel run on your TV.

You got lucky, able to see that your selfless acts hadn't been in vain and that it really was for the best that you had gone out and helped when you felt needed.

"Feeling better?" Billy inquired, placing quick chaste kisses along your temple and forehead upon seeing the tiny smile that graced your features. You nodded against him; though not in regards to your sickness, you certainly did feel better about yourself, drifting off to sleeping knowing your city was safe and to the sound of your boyfriend's heartbeat.
