i’m finding it so difficult to detach myself and cut off a person who i am very much still in love with but who has repeatedly hurt me and strung me along only to dump me when reality hits and they remember im a real person with flaws and emotions and not some fantasy they created

i’m about to be really mean but this person doesn’t give nearly as much of a fuck about you as you do about them. you’re probably romanticizing them, playing a highlight reel of their best qualities in your head, rewinding all the good moments you might’ve shared w them. meanwhile they weighed your best qualities, replayed your best memories in their head, considered the value you add to their life as a person—and still decided it wasn’t enough and chose to dump you.

this was my biggest blind spot when i was going through things like friendship fallouts or my breakup w my ex. i was like but how can i live without them now!! as if they didn’t choose to severe our connection w their whole chest. you might be like “but they might’ve really struggled to do it” and it’s like okay, but they still chose to go through w it. their reasoning to them was more important than having you in their life, regardless of the tremendous energy and emotion that got expended into the decision. that or it took no energy at all, which just means that they were playacting their care for you and never actually gave a fuck. far more sinister.

from the way you described them, they’re still not mature enough to realize that love is hard work. that it’s not just convenience and feeling good all the time. why do you want someone like that in your life? someone who always goes into fight or flight whenever push comes to shove? not sustainable whatsoever. they literally did you a favor by walking out of your life. they saved you more wasted time and effort and pain that would have no doubt stemmed from their avoidant, erratic, wishywashy nature.

also do yourself a favor and don’t fill the gaps for them or try to guess what’s going on in their minds. they dumped you? okay they don’t care about you. they cut you off? okay they don’t care about you. they’re not trying to send you subliminal messages on their ig story about how much they still care—and on the very small chance that they are, you shouldn’t want that. you shouldn’t want someone whose peak effort when it comes to you is posting a sad quote about how lonely they are without actually putting the effort into approaching you, apologizing, owning up to their mistakes. until they actually act on it, their feelings pretty much irrelevant & it’s best to assume they just don’t give a fuck. you don’t want someone in your life who always prioritizes their comfort over maintaining their connection w you. ruthlessly remind yourself of that and move on to someone who doesn’t just give you breadcrumbs, if anything at all.

it’s also not like the championship game was that sudden. like, it was a surprise to mike & dustin bc they don’t give a shit about basketball and aren’t aware of the ongoings of the team - regardless of the fact that lucas is on the team and most likely mentioned it. but no one else was surprised by this.

it’s the fact that not only do mike & lucas not care that lucas is on the team, but are actually upset with him for the overlapping events. he asks them to convince eddie to move the game to any other night. to which mike tells him to “talk to his coach. and get him to move the game.” lol. which is. clearly not realistic.

dustin says, “this is the end of eddie’s campaign and we need you!” then mike adds, “yeah and the tigers don’t. you’ve been on the bench all year.” which may be fine points & lucas isn’t that offended but the emphasis of the scene is put on this moment right here, when lucas says,

“i’m asking you guys, as a friend, just talk to eddie. get him to move hellfire. come to my game. please.” to which he’s met with silence. because it is made clear the significance that this game - and them being there means to him. to have their support. and then realising that they would rather choose eddie & dnd (yes, the super cool senior they all look up to but…) over lucas? their supposed best friend?

this is not just a poorly timed double booking where an “oh shoot, well i agreed to this thing first, so sorry!” serves as a reasonable response. these are two important events both involving lucas’ participation. one of which, is non-negotiable, it’s a championship game, if he doesn’t attend he misses an opportunity to play and maybe get his talents recognised & risks possibly being kicked off the team if they found out where he actually was.

the other, although also planned in advance, is an event made up of and controlled by his friends. eddie had complete power to move hellfire to another night at the cost of…literally nothing? the anticipation of waiting one more day but having lucas’ presence and making a small sacrifice to show solidarity/support?? and eddie says absolutely not because?? because it’s lucas’ fault for being in basketball? as punishment? i love eddie with my whole heart but it was not that serious.

what about max? she’s grieving, she’s depressed, she’s going through it. she doesn’t realise that she’s the only other friend he can ask to come. but still he says, “i know you never want to come to any of my games, but this one is kind of a big deal.” implying that he’s asked her to come before and she never has. and while, yes, he could’ve worded it a little differently- do you know how fucking hard it is to try and convince someone that you care about to come to an event that’s really important to you that would mean the world to you if they were there and for them to just…not care? it’s really fucking disappointing.

he tries to reach out to her and to tell her that he knows she’s not okay and that he’s there and she just. shuts down and hands the ticket back. and then later he is STILL the one apologising for not doing enough!! for not being there for max. i get how hard it is to let people in when you’re struggling and not wanting to go to events like that but, fuck he just looks so put out. she also didn’t seem to question/put together the fact that dustin asked her to play dnd that same night (bc lucas couldn’t be there.) but i wouldn’t really expect her to know why.

i do credit steve for being there/cheering him on, though i’m sure part of it was robin being there in band. and nancy was there as well, but for the paper. and sure, i’ll give dustin & mike credit for at least trying to convince eddie to move it. and it is sweet that max at least was listening to the game.

but at the end of the day, lucas is looking out at the crowd and seeing the absence of his closest friends. he finally gets his moment to shine, but they’re not there cheering him on, they’re not there to celebrate with him. and then he sees them leaving their game, not only cheering about their own win that he missed out on, but also that they asked his own sister to act in his place?? when she also probably would’ve gone to his game?? bc in ep. 7 he literally says “you still come to all my games though” ?? and again, just with the emphasis on lucas’ perspective in the episode - the look on his face as he’s leaving with jason and the team just says everything. we should absolutely be empathising with him. we’ve all been there.

all this to say, my post was in no way meant as “they suck” all the time!! i truly, dearly, love them all. but i do think every single one of them played a part and that everyone failed lucas that night. and it says a lot that none of them even realised or apologised to him and ig it especially bothers me because lucas tries so hard to be there for his friends, he’s always the first person to apologise when he says the wrong thing and he’s unconditionally loyal. even after all that you bet your ass he’s still gonna lead jason + co. off on a false lead and bike 8 miles to find & warn his friends. so yeah, i think lucas deserved & deserves better than that.

As your not a big fan of fantasy books in general. What drew you into loving asoiaf? What got you hooked?

now that I'm invested in asoiaf I do genuinely like the fantasy elements of the story, but the stuff that really pulled me in was the human drama and political intrigue etc. I love the character work, almost all of the POVs feel fully realised and subvert typical tropes in really interesting ways (imo). I like the inter-generational drama (the reasons I like succession are v similar to the reasons I like the Lannisters), like if I want to understand Jaime and Cersei and Tyrion I can look to Tywin, and if I want to understand Tywin I can look to Tytos, and if I was to understand Tytos I can look to Gerold, like it's a russian doll of intergenerational trauma what more could a girl want.

and on that note I really like the scope! GRRM obviously feels this need to account for all details minor and major, so that even with everything that's already on the page there's room to extrapolate so much more. i mean here I am writing who knows how many words about a fake 20-episode long robert's rebellion tv series lol like this all happened before the series even starts and yet I hardly need to make anything up bc there is so much to draw on just based on all the random little details we've got here and there from characters reflecting on the same events from different angles, and trying to piece together portraits of the people who died based on the recollections of those on the page who remember them..... it is so fun)

and yeah usually I prefer to read about that kind of thing on a smaller scale but the drama that plays out in AGOT is so engaging that upon initiation I didn't find it so much of a chore to keep track of all the various houses and lands etc in order to understand the full implications of each thing that happened - it felt like it was worth the effort. generally it's the 'keeping track' of it all that I find grating about fantasy bc I really want to just get on with the story rather than keep on top of a hundred magic systems and sub-species of pixie.

and obvs asoiaf is low fantasy rather than high fantasy, i.e. there aren't intricate systems to the magic and or complicated genus for each of the creatures, so that made it feel a lot more accessible for me as someone who just isn't very interested in those kinds of details. Dany's magic is made up as she goes along, it's never explained, and that's the same for pretty much all the fantastical elements - it's very show don't tell. and even though when you count it all up there are quite a lot of fantastical features and subplots, taken together with the rest of the story it's more like.... seasonings I wouldn't usually choose but ended up liking just fine in this overall dish lol

and finally asoiaf just really appealed to me from a fannish perspective! I really hate when you're trying to dig deeper with a work and you quickly start to realise that the writer(s) just weren't thinking that hard. it feels like striking concrete with a spade, like it's a one-sided conversation rather than something both the writer and the reader are participating in. I think some fans are perfectly fine with that and good for them - who cares if the author built the work to sustain your analysis if you're just having fun doing it - but for me it's a complete killjoy, I end up v frustrated and like the work isn't worth my time

so here's GRRM who is so fixated on the finer details that he's churned out a history book like 700 pages long and a bunch of short stories and also another history book just to add a bit more texture to the main story. and I don't have to worry about network input or co-writers or actors' intentions or whatever other external conflict or influence cos for better or worse it's all his story. and that just suits me better lol, it's one guy and his shitty computer, and me reading the shit he wrote with it. pure and simple living in the moment no phones in sight

I've been into loa/loass for some years now and succesfully manifested things such as friends, boyfriends, easy jobs and looking hot. I'm generally pretty content with my life and don't dream about bigger things than having it easy and living in the moment.

Rather than wanting to add something in my life I usually have things I want to manifest away, such as other people's annoying behaviours towards me. Especially my mothers, who's behaviour I won't be affirming here but let's just say she's been a bit toxic in the recent past. I was stressed to meet her this week bc I was already imagining all the stupid shit she would say and do when we spend time together.

But then I realized my negative thoughts about her won't make it any better. It ruins my day even before I meet her AND keeps her acting like that in the future, since I continue to choose that version of her again and again.

Affirming that my mom is suddenly all nice doesn't work for me yet (since I find it hard to believe lol), so I came up with a more general affirmation that has been powerful so far. Everytime I start to ruminate on our meeting ahead, I cut myself right there and affirm that my mother has no power over me. No matter how she behaves, she can't affect my thoughts or feelings. This has instantly made me feel better and more neutral about her.

I don't know how her 3D self will be today but honestly I don't even need to care. In 4D she is already the best and nicest version of herself and my time with her is chill and easy 👏🏼👏🏼

Tulio is autistic as shit (to me) here's why

Kinda a long thing I have many thoughts. I understand he's an exaggerated character and all that and I don't think he was actually intended to be autistic. I am just very autistic especially for this moron

-Okay so he seems to have a hard time realizing people's feelings and if he's hurt them. He will say what's on his mind to people even if it would seem mean to the average person. This gets him into trouble sometimes and usually rightfully so. He's not bad for not having the greatest social awareness, he's just an asshole bc he's tulio. Whenever he realizes that he has hurt someone he cares about, he ends up genuinely caring and wanting to make it up to them. Implying he didn't want to really hurt them, he just has a hard time figuring out the impact his actions have on others. This is a common experience some autistic people have. Autism is a big spectrum and one of the symptoms is low empathy. (Whether it be emotional, cognital, or other forms of empathy) Low empathy does not make an autistic person bad, nor does it mean they'll steal candy from babies or some shit, it just means they have social difficulties with people and they can be a super nice or normal person or however else. However, this is tulio, he's an asshole bc he chooses to be. Also note that there are times where he is mean on purpose. This is also tulio just being tulio.

-Adding on to the last point of social difficulties, he is very impulsive and says the first thing he's thinking to people. Even if it comes off as super mean and blunt. Which gets him into trouble. Being very blunt is another symptom and can add to social dysfunction.

-Tulio can be oblivious with people making fun of him, especially with sarcasm. This happens often when Bodoque is with him and he starts being sarcastic. Tulio doesn't always catch on to Bodoque's tone and can think that Juan Carlos is genuine with his words. This also happens with other people and can lead to embarrassing moments for him. Not only does he have trouble with tone but misunderstanding phrases. He also has trouble understanding people's intentions, whether they're good or bad. Which can lead him to thinking someone innocent is deceiving him. Or even thinking someone clearly shady is trustworthy. Which has led to trouble for him.

-Another thing is that he has very exaggerated movements, tone, and emotions. Just like having a monotone voice and being unemotetive, the opposite is true. He has big reactions to things that arent that big and exaggerates his words a lot. Tulio chooses to speak with formal language too. He speaks with his hands and even body.

-Stims a lot. Sometimes he will mimick and repeat others. If he sees something bouncing or moving around, his eyes will follow and his head will sway to the movement. Quick example off the top of my head was when Mario Hugo was swaying on that noose (very specific example I know) he swayed along to it. He also taps his fingers on surfaces and adjusts his tie. (Ik that's more likely attributed to his vanity, but it's a common stim so)

-He has a very limited interest in very niche things. He really likes ties. To a point it seems excessive to others. He tends to get bored with things that don't interest him and has trouble paying attention to them. Which can cause him to ignore others. And even forget someone or what was going on in the situation. With his interests, he really likes to talk about them whenever he can. Similar to info-dumping. Even to people that don't care to hear about his interests. He possibly might not notice they don't care.

-He does not like unconsented minor changes. Check the entire show.

It was Christmas time in Kanto, and every human and Pokémon in town was making their final preparations for the holidays.

You, Steven, and Mike had just finished decorating the outside of the brothers’ home, so now there were a few more things to add inside to get you all hyped for the season.

Of course, with both of your Charizards falling in love, it’s no surprise that you’d eventually develop your own feelings for Steven. 

But the truth was that he also had a die-hard crush on you..one that Mike knew very well.

He’s been trying to motivate his little bro for a while to make the first move--to no avail. Despite being quite charismatic with his fans, Steven faltered on genuine romantic things, even though he fell for you because you were the only one who treated him like a person instead of a celebrity. It’s you who he could envision a future with.

He simply didn’t know how to take things further from here.

However, with tonight being Christmas Eve, Mike may have just discovered the perfect plan.

While you were taking cookies out of the oven, the Charizards were playing in the snow, and Steven was adding finishing touches to the tree, the brunette had strategically placed some mistletoe above a gift his brother accidentally left on the sofa. It seemed just as happy to be your companion as it uttered a joyful “vee”, before wriggling out of your arms to curl around your shoulders instead. There, it nuzzled its nose against your cheek. You grinned and rubbed its ears. “It’s so cute. Thank you, Steven!”

You hugged him tightly, feeling him tense up for a moment before he returned the hug, smiling lightly. His heart was hammering in his chest at the closeness.

‘We fit perfectly in each other’s arms..’ His smile grew softer, wondering if this was now the right time..

But his eyes wandered up to the ceiling, and that’s when he realized...

There was mistletoe directly above you both.

Another brain moment….. (I formed a thought) I think that in a poly relationship with stsg a lot of problems that would occur in regular relationships with only one of the boys would become much easier to work around and figure out. For example, One of these things, I think, is satorus dislike for emotional vulnerability and sincerity because it makes him uncomfortable and/or scared, since those things can be used against him (which he knows is irrational because you and suguru would never use those things against him, he knows). But then when you add suguru into the mix, communication about these things would become a lot easier — because it means he’s there to step in when he knows satorus usually endearing childishness isn’t necessary in the situation and is most likely upsetting you. Because emotional vulnerability, I think, comes a bit easier to suguru than it does to satoru and he’s there if you really want to have a serious conversation about things that either of them do that might be upsetting you. Obvi not hate to my gorgeous babygirl princess wifey satoru! But he’s got trauma and trauma comes with trauma responses that make things like showing his emotions to people (even if he would hang all the stars in the night sky for them) hard and suguru is just the perfect man to help both him and you with that. and i think this bottling up of emotions is something toru would be good at managing. because he would push suguru, maybe a little too much, maybe they’d argue for a while — but suguru would open up. for sure. i think he’d benefit from that push. and if you’re there to be a kind of mediator, to soothe him while satoru takes the more assertive role, then i think things would work out well. you just balance each other out!!

Okay going more into it:

1) Commissions

Beginning next week I will hopefully have my commissions opened. I didn’t go as much into detail on my Twitter but essentially what’s going to happen is I will set up a Google form people can send in whenever they want. However, I’m only working on 5 people at a time. Therefore, the first batch of 5 will be messaged with their place in the line, and then once I’m done with that the next 5 who submitted the form will be messaged etc etc. 

I’ll be making a longer post with prices and how it’s all gonna work etc. next week — but just wanted to let you know that I will be opening commissions soon! I’m really excited! 

2) Ko-fi tip link

Also beginning next week, you’ll start to see [in smol font] on my art posts on here and in the replies of my Twitter posts a link to a ko-fi account. This isn’t for signing up for exclusive content, but is just a tip jar for like $1. 

I debated for a long while if I wanted to set up a bigget paywall with exclusive content but I decided against it simply bc I just don’t want to do that. I don’t have the resources to provide a lot of incentives but also — our wallets are really strapped right now [I know mine is]. I don’t want y’all, even if anyone was interested, having to choose between me or someone else.

4) Redbubble overhaul

My Redbubble is kind of a mess at the moment with older designs that may not work as well, designs up before I realized how to really color with CYMK, and not a lot of themes or anything like that. 

So, I’m hoping in the next few weeks to get some designs up for Halloween/Spooky season as well as start to work on Christmas things so they’re available on time and before Christmas unlike last year. 

Redbubble won’t be a high income earner for me since I don’t up my share by much since I still want the price to be affordable, however I want to still put some more current designs up for anyone who may be interested.

write what you want to read 😂 it's like, the backbone of everything I do

7. How do you choose which POV to write from? OMG!!!!!!!!!! It depends!!!!!!!!!!!! Because sometimes the POV is like baked into the idea itself, so I don't have to decide. But sometimes I think of the idea first and then I have to like, start dissecting elements of the story and try to figure out what exactly I'm trying to write.

Like using Gallows Bird as an example bc it's my most recent fic; I struggled getting the ball rolling on that one because I was going to try to write Armand's POV and it wasn't really speaking to me. BECAUSE LIKE, IF YOU RECALL, I WROTE THAT FIC FOR THE PERVERT ZERO GAME ON DISCORD LOL where the concept was "how did Armand learn about the voyeurism thing in Devil's Minion?" so it makes sense to write it from his POV to like carry it forward into the 1980s, I guess.

But for me I'm also wondering like, as a porn fic, what's the appeal here? Sometimes there's directionality to kinks, so for example with voyeurism, you can ask "Is this about watching or about being watched?" And like, without getting into a side essay about writing porn as an asexual LMFAO sometimes when I'm making creative decisions I do fall into "I'd rather watch" mindset and then it becomes sort of meta, imo. Like, you're reading porn, and the thrust of the kink in the text is about watching. I find that kinda fun!!!!!!! And basically when I thought maybe I should write it from Marius's POV it all kinda came together.

I think it's important to ask like, what is the story you're trying to tell, and figure out the advantage to the different POVs to see what it adds or removes from the story, right? Like Gallows Bird from Armand's POV would be "I'm so hot for the monster daddy I live with and I want him to murder my rapists" which like IS THERE in the fic, but it puts the burden on like, the daddy kink and the feeling of being protected and being watched. (We also already have that POV in greater detail in canon, vs Marius kinda skims over it.) From Marius POV it's a story about trying to do right by your little pet that you desperately want to murder. They're just two very different vibes. And like for VC fics these questions are always gonna be "Do I want to be preyed upon?" or "Do I want to prey on someone?" and it can make the same concept feel completely different. So I like thinking about what that adds to what I'm trying to say, and decide which is more fun to engage with or which I have more to say about or which just feels right for that exact moment in time.

Personally I enjoy writing third person limited so like, I always sorta pick one POV and stick to it, but VC is fun because as long as one of them has the Mind Gift you can also include the other POV. Like in Gallows Bird there's plenty of Armand POV because Marius knows what he's thinking---OR IS THERE? IS IT RELIABLE? IS IT MARIUS'S INTERPRETATION OF WHAT HE THINKS ARMAND IS FEELING? hmm.

(also insert similar conversation about my Sheith gangbang fic Galactic Runway LMFAO where I knew I wanted to write an elaborate gangbang but when I was trying to make it click in my mind I decided that watching is more fun for me than doing, so I had it Shiro's POV of Keith getting gangbanged. :D )

OMG I feel like, I can ignore bad advice so easily I can't even remember. Like I think I'm an experienced enough writer that I know immediately if something isn't going to work for me and I don't even let it sink in. I remember recently reading about Chuck Palaniuk's feeling words or something and I disagreed so hard I just didn't let it stay LOL. Starira Weapon Name Ratings...2!

mostly bc my opinions have shifted a little after 3.5 years and to add in seiran and the carseats. also bc ppl have been reblogging the og one so.

SEISHO

Karen: Possibility of Youth. Basically Karen’s childhood promise to Hikari and Karen’s limitless potential wrt that stage. I think she’s outgrown it a bit now, tho she is still young. What possibilities will she bring Now after her goal has been met? 6/10 Hikari: Blossom Bright. Has to make her brilliance bloom again after losing it. And shows how she CAN regrow and regain her brilliance and i Like it A Lot in ways I can’t quite articulate. 8/10 Mahiru: Love Judgement. Judging with Love. which honestly Mahiru does very a lot. I feel like most of Mahiru’s active Judging is firm and hard hitting. She wants what’s best for you and sometimes that’s scaring the shit out of you. With Love. Honestly fits her very very well imo. 10/10

Claudine: Etincelle de Fierte. Spark of Pride. I think claudine has more than just a Spark of Pride lmao. in french bc ofc it is. gets points taken away bc French. 4/10 Maya: Odette the Mavericks. So FUcking SILLY and honestly so fucking Maya. Got ur Swan Lake reference for Maya’s swan motif and ofc her Attitude of being Above the Rest and bending the stage to Her Will, not conforming herself to it. HOnestly it’s very fitting but GOD. It’s so STUPID. 6/10 Junna: Jade Bow. Boring. Junna you’re gifted with words and you couldn’t come up with a better name. You have different glasses for different moods and I bet you have ‘named’ them by those moods but all you can name ur bow is. Jade Bow. 1/10 Nana: Rondo. Symbolic of how Nana time loops herself, and generally dances around the others in terms of skill. But also she can’t break out of the cycle she’s put herself in, always falling back into it. it’s a bit bland tho. 7/10 Futaba: Determinater.  Girl is gonna Hack her Way Into Being As Good as Kaoruko and You Can’t Stop Her. Very fitting for someone who never intended to go into performing tbh. She won’t Lose even if she didn’t originally Choose to be here. 7.5/10 Kaoruko: Daffodil. I mean flowers Are part of her whole schtick, but i feel like daffodil is an odd choice. I do suppose they could look like stars though? It’s also very simple for Kaoruko. Though for all of Kaoruko’s bluster and whining, she is very straightforward when she’s serious. Hmmm 5/10

bonus Sakura: Sakura Shield’s Beauty. beanie baby. honestly idk it’s not that exciting. she’s not an actor tho so i’ll let it slide. prob has something to do with her big sis Koharu. 3/10

RINMEIKAN

Tamao: Scattering of Petals. Gonna fuck Kaoruko Up. Blood Splatter Symbolism. The moment of Death and goodbye. Also a display of Romance. Honestly Much more resonant now than at the beginning. 10/10 honestly i love it. Ichie: Ichie’s Fan. BORING. ICHIE YOU ARE A LET DOWN. -100/10 Fumi: Kingfisher. a type of blade meant to break other swords. which i suppose is why she can’t beat Akira. akira’s got a big ol’ jousting lance. She DID break a big promise to Shiori, who wields a sword. so Asshole. Asshole who was fishin to be king and failed. loser. fitting tho 9/10 Rui: Shooting Star. You know, I gotta respect Rui for being the most Straightforward with her weapon name. SHe’s already a fuckin star people are watching shoot by. For all the top star symbolism, i HAVE to commend the shyest baby with stage fright for just Claiming Immediately that she’s a Shooting Star. 11/10 Yuyuko: Yumin Rinmeitei. dunno what it means. Probably something related to rakugo. Has part of rinmeikan in the name so points for school spirit. also Actually Sounds Like a Name. 8/10

FRONTIER

Aruru: Heavenmaker. honestly still 100% the coolest name here. Gonna make everyone a star shooting into the heavens. Will make a heaven for herself and her family. 100/10 Misora: Wild Punch. Honestly makes 0 sense you have a SPEAR, Misora. you cannot Punch with a SPEAR. However the idea of her fighting with the spear and then just sucker punching you when you get too close is hilarious. I’ll add a point for that. 4/10 Lalafin: One Millionth. Sounds like she’s only using one millionth of her true power. a very Hero Show sounding name. Do I Understand it? No. Must I give her points for being true to herself. yes. 6/10 Tsukasa: Dust Devil. Very frontier sounding. Also her choosing to ditch her strict japanese upbringing for masquerading as a gyaru for the funsies. Disguisin herself in the dust. idk it sounds cool and i like it 8/10 Shizuha: Unicorn Maiden. once again a VERY. SILLY. NAME. BUT DO I LOVE IT? YES. It’s such a weird name and i suppose as like frontiers first ‘star’/face she does have to appear to be the perfect rep. But also with her scythe, and unicorns horn,  she’s got that Edgy Evil Side to her. nerd. also what is a scythe but a very pointy stick horse. stick unicorn. 8/10

SEATBELT EDELS

Akira: Platinlanze. Platinum Lance. Even more boring than Junna’s Jade Bow, because at least junna’s image color isn’t jade. no imagination 0/10 Michiru: Saphir Bestrafung. Sapphire Punishment. Very Fitting for the secret manipulator of the edels. you Will do as she says, Akira. well mostly. she scary. prob the best of the edel names tho. 6/10 Mei Fan: Rubin Hellebarde. Ruby Halberd. girl your spear isn’t even a halberd. what are you doing. this is even worse than Misora’s Wild Punch. 2/10 Shiori: Jade Angriff. Jade Attack. thank god it’s not jade sword. angriff also sounds like angry so. Shiori WILL attac. and i love her for that. Despite being the baby and the softest-spoken edel. Go nuts and call Fumi out. You deserve it baby girl. 8/10 for the vibes Yachiyo: Perlenpfeil. Pearl Arrow. gets points for not SOUNDING like Pearl Arrow, removes points for just being her image color and weapon. 3/10

CARSEATS

Stella: Anastrophe. defintion: inversion of the normal order of words for rhetorical effect. ex ‘the greatest teacher, failure is’-Yoda. usin that example since it’s pretty relevant to Stella’s story of just clamming up on stage. Also since she’s the founders granddaughter but didn’t grow up at Seigfeld. Honestly a cool name 9/10 Shiro: Schnee & Glockchen. most likely a reference to the waltz. also a name for snowdrops, the flower. listenin to the waltz i do feel like it’s very stella/shiro relationship vibes. Also like, bonus points for naming it after classical music i think that’s cool. plus it sounds cool. 11/10 Ryoko: Wild Chaser. Are you related to Misora, Ryoko. i suppose you both have a lotta siblings. But also kinda brings to mind the idea of someone struggling to catch up to the rest of a group with a single-minded determination, which suits Ryoko very well. 8/10 Minku: Circle of Connect. i mean u sure do have a circle weapon Minku. she’s also the one who kinda ties herself and Kuina to the other three. since Kuina’s pretty aloof to their more fun shenanigans thus far. also brings to mind friendship bracelets and that’s very Minku. awkwardly phrased tho. 6/10 Kuina: Swear by Heaven and Earth. VERY related to her and Minku’s promise atop Mt. Fuji. Straightforward, serious, but also deeply sentimental and i like that a lot. it’s fuckin cool. 15/10

SEIRAN

Koharu: Rosso Primavera. Red Spring. aw that’s kind of a mix of koharu’s image color and when sakura blossom’s bloom for her little sister. that’s cute. also Italian for seiran apparently. Also kind of like new beginnings but the redness is more intense than sakura pink, which could relate to koharu’s inability to chill. it doesnt really bring to mind koharu tho. 6/10 Suzu: Verde Vento. Green Wind. lame. i mean she is green. and she sure is full of hot air. and ties to the summer sky drama between her an mahiru. and alliteration is nice. 6/10 Hisame: Giallo Ghiaccio.  Yellow Ice. oh honey i know you’re yellow and your name means ice-rain and you and nana’s drama was in winter but- what an unfortunate name. you’ve added color to the cold past prob also related to nana’s hair n warmth but god its just. Unfortunate. the alliteration is also nice, and at least you can’t really tell what it Means beyond probably yellow. 5/10 if you don’t know what it means, 2/10 if you do.

Edit: before people choose to call me a bitch again, this was written after ep5 came out. Any inhuman act of ADULT Alicent’s is not taken into consideration here. I know what she’s gonna do. Just open your fucking eyes to the backstory she’s given IN THE SHOW and shut up. Thanks.

Why are people hating on Alicent for marrying Viserys like it was her choice and then use that as a baseless foundation to hate on her? Is she the picture of perfection in this story? No, absolutely not, but literally no one is. Alicent is as much a victim in all of this as Rhaenyra is. They’re two different women in two different situations who both try to break out of the wheel of patriarchy. How can you sit there and defend Rhaenyra for her completely whacky choices while Alicent makes due with her LACK of choices?

I was on team black when reading the book, but I have a feeling the show is gonna make me a green precisely bc Alicent is so much more fleshed out. We get to see so many things from her perspective and I think it takes incredible bravery to face all of these issues and actually deal with them. Being subjected to a loveless marriage where she’s only used as breeding stock, losing her best friend bc of it, trying to placate her father despite all her unvoiced objections…

Alicent’s animosity towards Rhaenyra is valid in ep 5. She’s tried to make amends with Rhaenyra and it backfired. From the moment Viserys announced his marriage to Alicent, Alicent has been alone. Rhaenyra wanted nothing to do with her bc she felt betrayed and Viserys… well, it doesn’t need much explaining why Alicent doesn’t want to talk to him. The only person she had left was her father, and despite all his flaws, he is still her father whom she loves and cares for. Perhaps also the only person she could confide in, to some degree. Now she’s truly alone. And it is Rhaenyra’s fault, partly.

So far, all Alicent’s done is obey her father. She married Viserys, she gave him heirs, she semi-cooperated with voicing Aegon’s rightful claim to the throne. The one time she directly goes against Otto is when she defends Rhaenyra’s virtue, losing her father in the process. But in the light of rekindling her friendship with Rhaenyra, this was a worthy sacrifice, one she didn’t make lightly. It clearly hurt her to see him go, but she at least had Rhaenyra.

When it turns out that Alicent defended Rhaenyra over a lie, that Alicent lost her father over a lie, that Alicent has been played a fool, it makes perfect sense that she turns bitter. With her friendship with Rhaenyra now officially broken and her father gone, Alicent doesn’t have any internal allies at court anymore, no one to confide in, hence why she strikes an alliance with Ser Criston. He’s hurt too by Rhaenyra’s actions. It makes perfect sense why he’d join Alicent in her plans. In the books it always kind of seemed like backstabbing Rhaenyra, but even a princess has to deal with the consequences of her actions.

I don’t think Alicent is in the wrong to cut Rhaenyra off as a friend. Do I agree with all that she’s about to do? No, but with, again, her lack of choices, Alicent can’t and doesn’t want to do much more than secure her own position and that of her children. Not only does this explanation justify Alicent’s actions, but it also adds much more complexities to the conflict between two former best friends. Neither of them wants to fight the other, but to protect themselves, both have to do the unthinkable. It makes it actually kind of hard to pick a side in the war to come.
