Today has been hectic, I have had a course of the worst everyday luck it's possible to have in a while. Got home and renewed my protections which to be fair it had been a while. I'm not a paranoid person, when bad things happen I generally assume it is not down to fate or spiritual causes. But the amount of things that went wrong today forced me to consider the possibility that there may be some malignant forces surrounding me. That is not to say I think I've been cursed, but something more like lingering ill will. A reminder to keep my affairs in order when it comes to witchcraft, certainly.
To that end, I thought I'd share some super simple tips and tricks for spiritual protection. Save this post, if you'd like, I find it may come in handy when you least expect it.
1. Oil and water spell
This is good for drawing out negative energies. I personally use salt water paired with oils I've infused myself, but you can just as easily use cooking or olive oil, even animal fats after cooking. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work.
The process is simple:
Pour water and salt into a jar and concentrate on it for as long as necessary. Then pour on equal parts oil, or at least enough to cover the surface of the water.
Place the lid firmly on and shake. Shake as much as you need to for as long as you need to. Once you're done, say a few words and as the oil and water separate, so too will you be separated from negative energies.
2. Simple knot protection spell
Simply tie seven knots into a length of red or black thread, yarn or leather string, focusing on building up protection as you go.
3. "Fuck off" with chilli powder
Going with the simple theme, for this one all you need is some salt, chilli powder, and cloves as well if you want. All banishing tools.
Open a window in your home, I do this in each room in my flat, and pour into your hand: Salt, Chilli powder and ground Cloves. Then, blow them away from you and out the window, focusing on pushing negative energies away.
Careful of the wind for this one or it could get messy and get chilli in your eye, and if you're using salt make sure you don't blow it over any plants as this will most likely kill them. You don't have to use much to get the effect, but still be cautious if there are any pets or animals around.
I make a little bottle of this combination of spices to have ready for when I need it, it can also be great as a bed for a black candle to give an extra protection kick.

The Evil Eye🧿
Tumblr media
Time puts into perspective all things. This is why symbols change meaning over the course of generations.
As a born and raised Catholic in the American South, I was exposed to a lot of symbolic beliefs that I’ve had to unlearn and/or change my relationship to. I’m always learning as a result. One of the most recent examples to come under my radar would be the Evil Eye. This bright blue bauble synonymous with the people derogatorily known as “g*psies” was a wicked warning that you’ve been cursed by one of them. Of course, Catholicism comes with a lot of dangerous stereotypes, and I know I’m not the only one who was under the impression that Eyes were wicked because Catholic forums are still asking questions about it.
After doing a little thinking for myself, it wasn’t a deep dive to find research on the real meaning behind the Evil Eye. It’s not a curse, but in fact a talisman against the curse. The curse of the Evil Eye comes from the Mediterranean, and is bad luck wished on those who become too proud of themselves. The amulet image of a blue eye is protection from that dangerous gaze.

War Water
Tumblr media
War Water (also called Iron Water) is a powerful tool in witchcraft used for protection, hexing, banishing, and warding off enemies. It originates from Hoodoo, Appalachian folk magic, and other mystical traditions.
Uses of War Water:
• Protection – Sprinkle around your home to create a spiritual barrier.
• Banishing – Throw it where unwanted people have walked to remove their influence.
• Cursing – Toss onto an enemy’s property to bring discord and bad luck.
• Warding Off Negativity – Add to floor washes or sprinkle near entrances.
• In Spellwork - Use in rituals for breaking curses, creating wards, or calling upon warrior spirits.
Needed:
• Rusty nails (or iron shavings or railroad spikes)
• Water (preferably storm or river water for extra potency)
• Salt (black salt for cursing, sea salt for protection)
• Cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes (for aggression and strength)
• Vinegar – Used to sour relationships in cursing spells.
• Mugwort or Rue – For added spiritual power.
Instructions:
Place the rusty nails or iron in a jar. If your nails aren’t rusty, leave them in water for a few weeks to oxidize. Fill the jar with water. Use stormwater for aggressive energy, river water for powerful flow, or tap water if necessary. Add salt and herbs and let it sit for at least a week. The longer it sits, the stronger it becomes. Some witches let it develop for months. Shake or stir when using, the rust, herbs, and salt should be well mixed before application.

Stiles: "So what—you’re the cursed prince and I’m the fool who fell for you?"
Derek: "No. I’m the wolf, and you’re the only one who never ran away."
Stiles: "Damn it, why is that kinda hot?"

massages forehead So Ambessa hid Mel away because she was a weapon in the literal sense, a mage. But Ambessa came to Piltover for Hextech? And Ambessa had nothing to say to Mel about her powers having visibly awakened? Even when Mel offered to go with Ambessa, giving her the ultimate opportunity to make Mel a weapon for real? And Ambessa made no attempt to find or retrieve Mel - not just her daughter and the remnants of the family Ambessa professes to love, but also her ultimate weapon - when she disappeared? And Ambessa trusted Singed and Viktor on their home turf - neither of them hiding how insane and self-serving they are with every reason to take over Ambessa's soldiers or just blatantly turn on her as soon as it benefits them - more than she trusted Mel? While Caitlyn (and by extension Piltover) was visibly and clearly falling away from Ambessa's teachings before Ambessa's eyes? (as if getting rid of certain people allows piltover to get rid of fascism but we won't get into All That)
Not only do I struggle to be hyped for Mel's powers beyond how amazing and beautiful she looks, but I can't help but feel like Mel is somehow less powerful in season 2 than she was in season 1, and not in an interesting way. As if Mel's ability to bend all of Piltover politics and economics to her will in season 1 now means nothing in season 2? You can argue that Jinx's attack led directly to Mel losing ground in Piltover - because I expected Mel to have to claw back that power without being able to rely on people who are too easily seduced by Ambessa and authoritarianism, and she would have to get creative to go toe to toe with her mother. I expected pushback to her mage identity that she would have to navigate. But instead this went either unwritten, or was ignored or discarded. Instead Mel is removed from the main plot, cutting her off from what made her the most interesting - only for all of Mel's very real talents, her very real powers and abilities, to be not only translated but REPLACED with magical powers she doesn't know how to control, and by the finale, those magic powers are the only powers that are considered real. Mel takes a backseat to Piltover's governing and decisions, a backseat to Jayce of all people who was not only new to politics mere months ago but made poor governing, strategic, and diplomatic decisions when he had that power. In season 1 Mel stayed off the "throne" but she did pull its strings one way or the other, and she makes no attempt at this in season 2
In my least generous suspicions, Mel was gentled and quieted to capitulate to an agenda for other characters who had to be correct and heroic - or wrong and villainous - no matter what the leadup narrative said, given her powers to help sell the game and set up future shows, and was effectively ejected from the Arcane story with faceless soldiers and a role she doesn't want because she was inconvenient there

Page 42 of my Miraculous Mentor AU comic A Matter of Trust! In which Felix might have lost his magic, but everything he learned from balancing Misfortune could just pay off... ☯️✨
Also, I'm aware there's a slight layering issue with the text in the first panel - unfortunately my tablet broke this week so short of delaying the page there's nothing I can do right now! I hope it's not too distracting and I'll replace the image when I have it sorted! 💕

Weekly updates each Sunday! You can also read ahead early on Patreon, and/or buy me a Ko-fi if you'd like to support my work (or help me afford a new tablet! ; w; )! 💖

Okay so I absolutely do hate the Joker but this popped in my head and won’t leave so *throws at your face like a wad of paper and runs*
————————————————————————
Danny had decided to visit Jazz in Gotham. He had tried to convince her to go somewhere else but she had been too stubborn. He dejectedly got off the bus with his bags and looked around.
His scowl got even deeper. How could Jazz stand this place?! There were way too many shades everywhere, the ecto in the air tasted funky from all the chemicals, and just standing there he could feel someone dying in the near vicinity.
Shaking his head he followed directions to Jazz’s apartment. He had only gotten a short way there when someone swore and yelled out “Joker attack nearby!” and people scrambled to go hunker down. Closing his eyes briefly Danny dropped his head, took a deep breath, before he straightened and started moving faster.
He wasn’t surprised (due his normal luck) when he turned a corner and there was the infamous rouge himself facing the Bats. He was about to turn back when he froze. Being a halfa, and the Ghost King no less, he was able to see a lot of things others couldn’t.
The first thing he noticed; the Joker was not alive. Danny wouldn’t call him a ghost but he was a being under his rule. Then there was the fact that the Joker was not doing anything of his free will. He was absolutely chained like a puppet in a multitude of curses.
He swore under his breath. This had now become his problem.

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare
Tumblr media
Combat magick is the practice of using metaphysical and energetic techniques for defense, offense, and strategic advantage in spiritual or psychic conflicts. It blends elements of protection, attack, and counterattack, often drawing upon personal will, energy manipulation, and ritual magick to influence outcomes in battles—whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.
Principles of Combat Magick
• Energetic Warfare – Combat magick works by manipulating energy to shield, attack, or neutralize threats. Practitioners learn to harness their own energy and direct external forces to achieve victory.
• Intent and Willpower – A strong will is essential in combat magick. The practitioner's intent determines whether their spells are defensive, retaliatory, or aggressive.
• Cleverness and Intellect - When it comes right down to it, your mind is the single best weapon in your arsenal. The practitioner should possess a some level of mental prowess before attempting combat magick.
• Ethical Considerations – While some use combat magick for self-defense, others employ it for baneful purposes. Some witches mayfollow guidelines such as the Threefold Law or personal codes of conduct that forbid the use of such workings.
Tumblr media
Forms of Combat Magick
Defensive Magick (Shielding & Warding):
• Shielding: Creating energetic barriers around oneself or others to deflect attacks (psychic, emotional, spiritual).
• Warding: Placing protective symbols, sigils, or enchanted objects around spaces to prevent intrusion.
• Cleansing & Banishing: Removing negative influences through smoke cleansing, salt, sound, or sacred words.
Offensive Magick (Curses & Hexes):
• Curses & Hexes: Directing harmful energy toward an opponent to weaken, confuse, deter, or harm them.
• Energy Manipulation: Sending concentrated bursts of energy to disrupt an enemy’s balance.
• Elemental Combat: Calling upon fire, water, air, or earth to aid in magickal attacks.
Counterattacks & Reversal Magick:
• Mirror Spells (Return to Sender): Reflecting an attack back to it's source.
• Unbinding & Curse Breaking: Severing unwanted energetic ties or removing hostile spells.
• Reversal Magick: Redirecting negativity away from oneself and sending it elsewhere.
Tumblr media
Tools & Techniques Used in Combat Magick
• Sigils & Symbols – Used for protection, strength, or attack. Examples include Algiz (protection), Mars glyphs (aggression).
• Herbs & Crystals – Protective plants like blackthorn, vervain, or dragon’s blood; stones like obsidian, hematite, or black tourmaline. Baneful components include herbs like datura, calamus, belladonna or Spanish moss and stones like opal, sardonyx, and garnet.
• Blood & Personal Energy – Some warriors of the craft may infuse spells with personal essence or their own blood to strengthen the magick.
• Chanting & Incantations – Words of power can amplify intent and activate spells more effectively.
• Astral Combat – Fighting in the spiritual realm through visualization, dream work, or projection. This can help you catch your target in a vulnerable position and quickly gain the upper hand.
Tumblr media
Who Uses Combat Magick?
• Witches & Sorcerers – Those who practice both light and dark magick for protection or justice.
• Psychic Warriors & Energy Workers – Individuals who engage in spiritual defense against negative entities or forces.
• Shamans & Spirit Walkers – Practitioners who deal with hostile spirits or supernatural threats as well as those performing exorcisms.
• Chaos Magicians – Those who employ sigils, servitors, and energy constructs for their warfare.
Combat magick is not for the faint of heart—it requires discipline, mastery of energy work, and deep self-awareness. While it can be a powerful tool for protection and justice, it should always be wielded with wisdom and responsibility. Whether defending against psychic attacks or engaging in mystical battles, combat magick remains an essential part of the spiritual warrior’s arsenal.

This scene has been in my head for two years and needed out. So a quick comic it is. More space fairies. The Monarchs are called Sol and Nox. They belong to the same circle.
Sol is very polite and while disappointed, they do accept a 'no' from the human. But you do not say 'no' to Sol while Nox is around. It's not healthy for you or the rest of your crew. :)
Seriously, if Sol didn't like the humans Nox would've reduced the ship to metal scrap upon the first encounter. Nox is a fiesty powerhouse, but soft to their circle. If they want to hang out with the weird beings then they'll begrudgingly let them.
