I’m actually LOVING how Rick Riordan, and the other writers of the show, took his initial concept of a Percabeth rivalry fueled by that of their parents and kind of turned it on its head?

Now, instead of Annabeth being wary of Percy because he’s a son of Poseidon, he’s wary of her because she made a callous impression on him. They get off to a rocky start even before finding out who Percy’s father is, and when they finally do, Annabeth doesn’t care. Instead of them fighting because of who their parents are, they’re fighting over their own opposed worldviews.

Then, instead of them arguing over which of the gods is cooler and who was right in the story of Medusa, they realize that, just like Medusa, Annabeth is a victim of her mother and that, unlike Medusa, she is a far kinder and stronger person, unwilling to repeat the cycle of hurt. They realize that, like his father, Percy often acts without considering potential consequences and that, unlike his father, he is a far kinder and stronger person, willing to step up for someone he wronged and whom he cares about.

Instead of Percy and Annabeth’s rivalry being focused on that of their parents, it’s focused on who they are, themselves. But the path to friendship is still the same: a realization that they have each other’s backs, no matter what, because they’re not their parents after all.

I think the reason why I almost cried over the boy and the heron's animation is because it's hand drawn in a world full of 3d animation that tries to impress you at every stage.

(Minor spoilers for the boy and the heron, no plot points tho)

Encanto's animation was impressive for the first few minutes, then it looked every other animates movie from the 2020s. The boy and the heron does a lot less than western (and 3d) animated movies for most of the movie (excluding the backgrounds because those were paintings. Like, actual paintings.) But when it needs to, it can do more than you thought possible. They clearly spent more time on making the movements human than making it colourful and flashy.

This subtlety is also extended into the character designs. In anime especially, but to some extent pixar as well, they make regular people look like humans have sexual dimorphism, but I couldn’t tell what gender Kiriko was supposed to be until she started to speak and until my suspicions were confirmed that the clothes she wore were in fact the same ones she wore in the other world. I am also a big fan of old wrinkly people so I'm glad they were once again present in a ghibli film. I think they have a knack for portraying people from different stages of life realistically. Also a big fan of how Mahito had so much personality, especially for a 12 yo protagonist of an adventure movie. Those tweens are usually given the cookie cutter hero personality, but robbed of actual humanity.

I've been into podcasts lately so I'm curious what podcasts you guys like and if anyone has any recommendations for podcasts. I like ones where you don't have to listen to every episode, you can just pick up ones that sound interesting or maybe ones where a story is told over 2 or 3 episodes. Preferably not ones with a continuous story over dozens of episodes or something you need to keep up on. I like both fiction and non-fiction. I especially like anything horror themed. However I'm open to whatever.

Also if you have something that doesn't fit my criteria but you want to recommend anyway it 'cause you love it, please feel free.

Malleus with a fat/chubby/plus-size MC

Warnings: none other than that this is not proofread! this is just complete fluff because I'm utterly in love with this dragon fae. I feel like I could totally write a part two to this if anyone wants it.

This man is irrefutably in awe of everything you do. Malleus would be a bit surprised if you ever told him you were insecure about a feature of yours because while he knows everyone has their insecurities (and he's well acquainted with his own for sure), he has always thought of you as absolutely breath taking.

Malleus definitely has a staring problem. Sneaking glances at you when you're oblivious to the tender eyes of love directed solely your way. You're so beautiful in all that you are.

When you're showing him your outfits, this man is your ultimate hype man. If you're going out with your other friends or running around NRC doing work for Crowley, Malleus always makes sure that he gets to see you because he never wants to miss out on seeing you. He always asks to see your outfits, especially when you dress up, and all he does is shower you in compliments

That color looks nothing short of heavenly on you, MC. When you prefer to wear super baggy clothing, he is equally as obsessed and in awe.

Your soft jawline? It's like something out of a classical painting; in fact, he wants to commission thousands of paintings of you. The graceful flow of your arms, that are nothing short of loving when you embrace him. your whole person that is joy incarnate. Days spent with you - loving you, showering you in praise, to feel this ardor and to have it returned by you - is bliss to Malleus.

It doesn't matter how being fat looks for you - he's in love with you in every way. From the tips of your fingers, to your hands and your wrists, the soft roundness of your shoulders, the stretch marks - Mr. I'm-in-love-with-mc-and-wish-to-never-be-parted-from-them-Malleus can go on and on about everything about you.

He likes to hold your hand and kiss your knuckles. Sometimes, he'll lift your hands up to cup his face and looks at you with a level of reverence that would frankly put Sebek into a coma. Malleus is also a fan of helping you put on/remove shoes; he likes to pepper kisses to your ankles and lift his head to lay in your lap. Oh? Are you shying away, MC? Does his boundless devotion fluster you? Good, you should know he's crazy over you

If you have boobs - the man is first of all, beyond respectful. He's a true gentleman and an absolute sweetheart. Secondly, he adores the stretch marks you may have around them. They look so soft and beyond perfect - the epitome of beauty really

Hip dips? Malleus like trailing a hand over them and up your waist. He believes Aphrodite couldn't hold a candle to you, that yours is the beauty people write poems about.

The elegant folds of your back, the soft plush of your thighs, the gentle strength your stature exudes - he literally can't get enough of you. And he lets you know that, and that's not just when you're feeling down about yourself.

Seeing you light up with confidence and take up space without any shame is so beautiful to him. He thinks you deserve to be happy more than anything, to believe in your own beauty and the irreplaceable place you have in the lives of everyone you allow into your space. There will never be another you, and Malleus always wants to be around you. He won't let you or anyone else downplay the space you have in his life in any capacity.

The amount of joy he feels just by being in your presence is adorable to see. Every part of him buzzes with love for you.

If you have trouble finding stuff in your size or ever tell him about the experience of being a fat person trying to find cute things in your size, Malleus will literally feel for this issue so much. Anything that has bothered you or made you feel like there isn't a place for you in the world - let alone a place where you can be happy and yourself - is something he takes issue with. So, he helps you out and personally makes a list of inclusive brands to check out with you.

He's there for you. He listens to when you're insecure or when someone says something about you or fat people in general that doesn't sit right with you. Malleus comforts you like a champ - he holds you and wipes your tears away with the sole desire of wanting you to feel how loved you are.

Ignoring the pathetic racists, an Indian rendition of Rapunzel would literally be the most gorgeous thing ever. Like y'all never seen a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie? Pushpa? Countless others, which showcase how visually stunning the culture is?

In my opinion, The Little Mermaid (2023) being set in the Caribbean was such an upgrade from the original - I much preferred the scenes on land rather than underwater BECAUSE it have us something other than generic European village #4. People are so damn afraid of the idea that fairytales can exist outside their snowy-white bubble, and I think they should be publicly shamed.
