“Danny was supposed to be in class today.”

There was a round of sighs in the coms. See Danny didn’t react in the same manner as the rest of the population when exposed to fear toxin (or in general, but they were mostly used to that). See Danny didn’t scream, he didn’t cry, he didn’t get violent. He got unnervingly paranoid.

He got so unnervingly paranoid about being watched, specifically by the government if the muttered and whispered words were to be believed. His eyes tracked nothing while he slowly moved around invisible people. It wasn't like dealing with someone in an active hallucination experiencing a psychotic break. It was like dealing with someone in a paranoid delusion. He wouldn't let any of the bats near him and often took off, disappearing into the chaos.

Four months into seeing this kid everywhere and their suspicions were confirmed when he literally disappeared after the second time being poisoned.

Danny was a meta and he was afraid.

That’s not the reason for the exasperation felt by this family though. It was what always happened after. The first time he ignored every vigilantly when they tried to bring it up. After the second time he attempted to avoid everyone, extended family included.

(He had asked Kate if she was also Batman’s kid. “More like their aunt.” “Oh okay so it really is a family business. Like that show Unnatural. You don't happen to have also lost your parents at a relatively young age and now go on to fight a dark presence in their honor, do you?.” Kate had stared passively at him, the others had warned her. “….. okay… are you more of a Zuko honor type?”)

However, it was like the universe conspired against Danny. Even Bruce agreed that there had to be some god or being doing this (nothing is ever a coincidence). They kinda felt bad for him. He was very obviously trying to avoid them and he was either really bad at being evasive or a deity was laugh at him. Once he had thrown himself behind a lamp pole smaller than himself and closed his eyes to avoid Stephanie.

(It was very awkward. He could turn invisible and knew they knew so why…..? She had politely continued past so not to embarrass the poor guy further. Cause this was embarrassing and they both knew it.)

Finally it was Duke who pulled them all out of limbo. He had come across Danny on the roof of another bank. A lesser known capital union closer to crime ally this time.

Danny hadn’t been avoiding Duke in the same manner as everyone else. He still stopped to give Duke food but he never spoke and he ran after. Duke thought it would be weird to chase him but it was also weird to turn around, have an orange shoved into his hands then watch his friend run away.

However, this time Danny didn’t run as Duke approached so Duke sat next to him. Pulling out a granola bar, he handed it to Danny, “that’s why you feed me all the time right? Cause you know how many calories we need as metas.”

Danny had laughed, “no actually, that was a bit that morphed into a habit. I just thought it was funny.”

“….what.”

“Don’t get me wrong, now that we’re friends I am more than happy to feed you but yeah. The first candy bar was a thank you and then the second time I thought ‘I have fruit.’”

“….. wow… okay.” There went his plan of empathizing. They sat in silence as Duke tried to reorganize his thoughts.

“I’m sorry for avoiding you all.” Duke turned his head to face Danny, who kept his eyes forward, “you know no one cares that you’re a meta.” “Obviously. It wasn’t the invisibility that I was upset about," Danny said.

“The muttering. The paranoia.” Danny grimaced and didn’t say anything.

“You don’t have to tell us till you’re ready, man. Just let us know if you need help. Please, are you safe?”

Danny nodded and Duke nodded back and they had both continued to sit. When they parted ways Danny handed Duke a small bag of chips.

Danny had apologized everyone one at a time even though they had heard it from Duke. Danny never explained nor did he want to talk about his it. His power of invisibility was also a subject off limits. All of them were worried but they didn’t want to force him to talk about it. They had to trust that he would one day feel comfortable doing so with any or all of them. (Still, it was hard seeing their friend so paranoid that he flinched back from them. )

The Fine Print part 1

Danny was bored. There wasn't much to do as Ghost King of the Infinite Realms. Every Realm of the Infinite in existence were fairly self sufficient. All Danny had to do whatever he wanted, and some official things every few thousand years.

He could see why Dark went mad, boredom does a number on you.

It was boredom that sent Danny digging through old rituals and ancient magic. It was boredom that made it seem like a good idea.

And so, the Ghost King reincarnated himself into a randomly chosen Realm, to live another human-adjacent life.

Danny rolled a lollipop between his teeth as he read over the contact. The demon, a minor one who would be lucky if they made any noticeable impact in their own Realm, never mind being noticed in the Infinite Realm, was kneeling on the ground.

"So, my father...John Constantine...sold me to you?" Danny asked. "This whole firstborn son thing,"

"Yes you little whelp-" Danny pulled out the lollipop, stabing the glowing green hard candy against the Demon's neck. they screamed, falling forward onto their hands. Danny shook off his candy, then climbed onto the Demon's back to sit.

"Manners," the six year old said.

The contract was simple. The demon would never impregnate an unwilling body, and in exchange Constantine would abandon his own firstborn son.

"It doesn't stipulate I've been abandoned to you," Danny said. "Just that oh father dearest has abandoned me, which he has fulfilled quite throughly."

Danny was amused, honestly. What a way to find out who his new father is!

"You have no power here," Danny said. "Leave."

And the demon did.

Danny Phantom but he's just,,,,,there.

He doesn't have the portal accident, his parents get the portal working but everything goes wrong and the portal is way too unstable and it's just fucked up

Ghosts are making their way through the portal all the time, and not all of them have good intentions. The portal is unstable and keeps expanding and nothing the Fentons are doing is helping.

Danny still goes vigilante. He has to. He can't just ignore it when there's ghosts hellbent on destruction stepping out of the portal in his basement. He can't ignore it when the portal won't stop growing.

And so he goes. He straps in his ghost fighting gear and his fenton blaster and his thermos. He tries talking to any and all ghosts, even Plasmius, to figure out what's happening.

He steps out of class when his spook detector goes off, even when he knows it means he won't be passing his classes. He gives up sleep, he gives up Nasa, he gives up his friends.

It isn't enough.

Ghosts keep coming through. Bigger and bigger each time and he knows that he cannot fight whatever's coming next. It'll be too big. It'll be too powerful. The ghost portal is more of a gash in the universe now, encompassing his whole house and neighborhood. Amity park is at its breaking point.

And everyone knows it.

And maybe that's why Plasmi– no, Vlad. Maybe that's why Vlad finally told him how the first portal accident went. Maybe that's why he told him how he had to suffer to appease the portal.

Because that's just how it is, isn't it? The portal needed a sacrifice. The portal needed a stabiliser.

They try animals first. All kinds of animals, from lab rats to cats to chimps. All thrown to the portal, one by one. Shoved in by the desperate hands of all the Amity parkers.

It's a bit like insanity, he thinks. Maybe this is how the people of pompeii felt when they prayed for salvation.

It doesn't work. He isn't surprised.

The portal needed a person.

His parents and Vlad had made the prototype portal way back in their college days. Vlad paid the price. His parents made this one too, and who does that leave?

Who does that leave? Not Jazz who raised him when his parents wouldn't, who hadn't ever cared about their parent's insane work. Not Tucker who hacked into GIW files, who helped him hunt ghosts even when he was nearly crying from fear. Not Sam, who went out on patrol with them every night, who patched him up when he couldn't.

No, not them.

The portal needed Danny.

so I’ve talked about what if Danny meets spiderverse before but this time what if he or clockwork senses a major red flag in the spiderverse and so he goes in with all his glory just as Miguel is doing the whole thing right befor the chase scene.

so he goes in looks around senses that Miguel is actually messing up MILES timeline by trying to stop him, so Danny just pick up miles like a cat and the spider people DO try and chase him but a lot of them and in shock and he just .. walks away…….

A dpxdc universe travel fic

Instert Danny meeting members of the JLD featuring domestic Madame Xanadu

Madame Xanadu is the youngest sister of Morgaine Le Fay and Vivienne, the famous 'Lady of the Lake' from Camelot. Madame Xanadu had a son, Kon-Sten-Tyne, the ancestor from whom the Constantine family got their name.

Danny found out this oh so interesting bit of family history after breaking into the Justice League Dark headquarters in Metropolis and finding his grandmotherly ancestor doing paperwork, because she's magic and immortal and the founder of the Justice League's Dark division.

The JLD Metropolis hq had a nice kitchen, Danny thought. He didn't make it very far before he was caught, so he couldn't say much about the rest of the building, but it could probably use more windows.

"Have you had dinner?" Grandma Xandau asked, mixing sauce and ground beef into a skillet. "We can go over your Infinite Realm contract after you eat. What on earth were you thinking? There are much easier beings to fool for power than the Infinite King, kids these days."

"I wasn't, it happend when i was a baby," Danny said, then sipped on his glass of lemonade as the woman who would probably get carded at a bar went all motherly on him. Knowing what this world would expect or assume from a magic adjacent mortal would be good for his 'normal adjacent ' life. How lucky, that Grandma Xandau was willing to teach him.

DPx DC AU: Danny learns that he can change his summoning ritual and decides to go chaos mode with it i.e. A viral tiktok trend.

Danny ascends the throne and it's honestly pretty alright as far as new jobs go. He states a few opinions, makes sure no one goes to war and is slowly integrating a community service sentence to Walker's prison. It's not a bad gig, and considering the troves of gold he's now owner of, it doesn't pay too shabby either.

His main problem with the job isn't even his constituents (he likes to think they would vote for him over pariah), it's all these loony death cults! They keep summoning him with Pariah's old cold sign and it's driving him insane- After a very unhelpful smirk by CW, a long study session in GW's library and some help from Ember (she knows drama like no one else) Danny finally has a new summoning ritual.

Of course he swapped out the blood and bone for like, sour gummies and random shit he had in his backpack at the time. A TI-84. And yes, the Latin chant is that one super-fast bit of Rap God preformed to a BTS dance at speed.

But rather than keep this to himself, he gets Sam (who has a thriving plant and protest community following) to record her completing this ritual and Danny being summoned. Why? Cause it was a very specific to Sam skill that they didn't know if people could replicate and it gives Danny some plausible deniability that he tried to make it difficult when CW asks.

Posting it makes it very quickly go viral as people attempt to call it fraudulent but sure enough, Danny is now traveling the world at a moments notice.

Which is great cause it's summer and he's bored in Amity anyway (He's going to change it before he starts university in September, duh), and its even better because the second a lame ass death cult brings him forward to, like, destroy the planet, a slumber party or influencer has already summoned him away. Shit, he even met a few celebrities this way! Plus, turns out that most death cultists aren't able to rap!

Reality hit him pretty hard when he got summoned to an office space that is clearly a base of operations and the summoning spell locked him in. Literally, he has no idea how to get out of this binding spell- Danny definitely hadn't realized that was an option. Taking in the Justice League members in front of him, plus one trench coated menace, Danny groaned for a moment before thinking to ask:

"Wait- Which one of you was able to do Rap God? And the dance? Please tell me someone thought to film that!!"
