summary: Rafael comes home angry and frustrated with your mom, so he decides to use you to relieve some of his stress.

Being Olivia Benson's kid had never been easy. Between angry criminals seeking revenge and never-ending cases that kept your mom away from you, you'd experienced more than your fair share of turmoil.

But even then, nothing compared to the night your mother and Rafael Barba came home and announced they'd gotten married down at the courthouse.

Somehow, taking care of Noah had always fallen on you. It didn't matter that you were working and going to school. Even though you were now in college and Noah was a bit older, you were still expected to be the responsible older sibling.

It had never been much of a secret that your mom and stepdad favored Noah over you. After all, they doted on him and told him how much they loved him all the time. You were practically invisible compared to him. Even though you were the one actually genetically related to one of them.

One night while you were doing schoolwork at the kitchen table, you were startled by the front door being flung open.

"Jeez, dad, what's wrong?" you ask, looking up at him and setting down your pencil.

"Elliot Stabler is back," Rafael grumbles, dropping his briefcase on the floor. It fell to the ground with a thud.

"I thought he was gone for good. Lizzie didn't tell me anything so she probably didn't know he was coming back, either. Poor kids," you sigh.

"Where's Noah?"

"A playdate with Amanda's girls. I'm picking him up later," you explain, looking up from your work briefly.

"Ah. Well, your mother is having a drink with Elliot. She'll be home later," Rafael spat.

"Damn. Jealous much?" you laugh, then realize it was the wrong move. You swore you saw fire rising up in Rafa's eyes as he stormed away to his and your mom's bedroom.

"Get in here, now." you hear Rafael growl from the other side of the bedroom door just a few minutes later.

A shiver runs down your spine. You were almost never allowed in your parents' bedroom. Only when you were being punished or scolded.

Even though you were in college, your parents still had absurd rules and acted like everything you did was wrong. Even though you weren't rebellious at all and spent most of your time watching your little brother.

"Dad, whatever I did, I'm sorry," you offer.

As you crack the bedroom door open, you notice your stepdad undressing himself, only his shirt, suspenders and pants remaining.

"I had a shit day and you sure aren't making it any better. Your mother and I have decided you need to learn to be more independent. I'm not even your real father, and you're not a little kid like your brother is. Grow up and stop relying on us for everything," he sighs, not even looking at you as if ashamed by your very existence.

"B-but you're the only d-dad I've ever had," you sniffle, tears welling up in your eyes.

"Stop getting emotional, don't be jealous over your brother. He didn't do anything wrong. Now get out, please. You're stressing me out," he says, rolling his eyes at you.

"What do I have to do to make you love me again? I'll do anything, please, dad."

"There's nothing you can do, I already have your mom," he states, laughing at your helpless desperation.

His words puncture your heart like a knife. He had your mom and Noah, so why were you still here? You'd always known you were useless, unloved, but now your stepdad had confirmed it.

"I can give you affection, anything you want. I-I can be better than my mom, please... please give me a chance!" you blurt, barely processing your words before you say them.

"Get out of my room. OUT!" he bellows, voice echoing through the walls. You leave, trying to preserve at least some of your dignity.

You sweep your homework off the dining table and drag it into your room. Your small, dark room. Somehow, even as the oldest, you'd gotten the worst bedroom. Of course. You flopped down on your bed and sobbed into your pillow, wishing fruitlessly for someone to make you feel wanted.

You couldn't remember when you had fallen asleep, but you hear a soft knock on your door some time later.

"Huh?" you rasp, eyes widening as your stepdad enters. Now clothed in a sweater and flannel pajama pants, he looks so much softer than before.

His sympathetic gaze fixes on you before saying, "c'mon, out of bed, sweetie."

Rafael leads you to the master bedroom once again, your mother still nowhere to be seen. Probably still out with Elliot Stabler.

"C'mon, sit in my lap. Don't worry, your dad's got you, okay? " you nod, so touch-starved as you climb onto the bed and into his lap.

"You were right earlier, we haven't been paying enough attention to you. Even big kids need love too. C'mon, cuddle with your dad," he says warmly, allowing you to climb under the blankets with him and snuggle up close to his warm body.

"I missed this," you hum, feeling his warm breath on your forehead as he wraps his arms around you.

You lean into his touch as his arm moves down your back, eventually stopping so his hand is resting on the small of your back.

Your breath hitches when you feel your stepdad's thick fingers reach down towards your underwear, gently teasing the waistband.

“Dad, w-what are you doing?” you hiss, writhing around gently to try and shake him off.

“Shh, just let me touch you, okay?”

You look at him with wide eyes, terrified at his uncharacteristic behavior.

Now, Rafael was sniffing your hair as he pressed a finger against the edge of your hole.

You tried to shake your head, or open your mouth, or do anything, but you were paralyzed with fear.

“Don’t tell your mom about this, alright kiddo?” your stepdad says with a breathy whisper as he plunges two fingers deep into your hole, nudging your pleasurable spot.

You try to muffle a shriek as your stepdad clutches your body close to his so you can’t get away. He was older and bigger than you and doesn't hesitate to exert his power over you.

The change was like night and day. You'd always considered Mr. Barba to be your own father, as he was the closest thing you had to a dad.

"Da-ad— please, please stop!" you hiss, feeling his thick fingers plunge in and out of you, working to pleasure you like he knew you deserved.

"Nuh, uh, baby. I want to apologize for neglecting you. And all this time, I've had a cute little stepchild right under my nose just waiting to be used. I'm sorry it took me so long," he says with a chuckle, like this is all some sick joke.

"I-I think I'm g-gonna—" your breath hitches and Rafael immediately knows, can feel your orgasm about to hit you.

"Mhm, just focus on my fingers, mi amor. Daddy's gonna make you feel really, really good," he coos.

You gasp and suddenly you can feel your little hole throb, trying hard to push your stepdad's fingers out. You clutch him even closer and he pulls you tight into his chest. His scent filling your nose just as his fingers were filling you.

PERSONALITY

-He is arrogant and stubborn, and the first time he met Jackson and Noah, it played against him and caused problems with most of them. But when he left that on the side, he's really responsible, intelligent and, as well as Luke, analytic.

-During the conjoined missions he stays a bit away from the other team, usually because he doesn't consider them an intelectual challenge. Francis stays near him, though, the cartographer is the one who smack some sense into him.

-Elliot usually overthinks almost everything, trying to understand all the variables, but ends up stressing himself. Maybe that's why people compare him with a surly cat when he's stressed.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Fort Worth, Texas. His family are mainly veterinarians, on the other hand a cousin is an economist and the other one is a photographer. As a kid, he grew up surrounded by animals and ended up loving almost any kind of animals, to his parents delight.

Elliot thought of being a veterinarian as well, but during his school life he discovered that he is amazing with the math and the physics. For many years he investigated about some branches of engineering, and found about the combat engineers, which called his attention. He talked with his parents, who were worried about him, but asked to take a year or two to think about it.

A year and half later, he enlisted into the Army and engineers school, and he studied until he almost fainted as he was on basic training. As he finished his training and title as engineer, it was known he was the best on his class, which helped him at the moment to be accepted on the special forces. From then on, he became arrogant, mostly because all of his superiors were amazed with him and praised his abilities insted of his co-workers'.

During his deployments, he perfected his tecnique and his speed on the field, which only boosted his ego. When he was on a deployment on a mountain range, he met Luke as a Sergeant, who at first was also reading his file in awe, but they lost contact after two missions more. And when the rumors about the new team were flying around, he knew they would look for him, considering the pattern.

And he was right, but he got slightly offended that the Captain sended the Sergeant and the Corporal instead of come herself. But when the reunion started, he felt in danger for a second, the Corporal was ready to beat the shit out of him and the Sergeant looked at him with something near to hate. Soon he went to Black Tomb and the day the Captain arrived again, he shivered and surprised to see how Michaelis was now the Lieutenant of the team.

And Luke was dissapointed...

Elliot spoke with Alicia and felt so little, like never before, and also he walked outside that office feeling regret for his own comments. Soon Luke walk to him, this time without a trace of the awe of before, just telling him one think with a harsh voice. Nowadays, he thanks that he said that during his first time there, but at the moment it affected him.

"Listen, the time has passed and I noticed something. You aren't as special as you think, everyone here are basically geniuses on their fields and if you continue thinking that you're some itty-bitty shining star...I'll be the one to bring you back to earth and throw you out of here" Luke growled to him that day "bring your fucking act together, Stevens, get down of your cloud"

SKILLS

-He is specialized on detecting many tipes of land mines, and even some acuatic mines too, to leave it for Noah. Also he prepares obstacles for the enemies squads and clears the paths for the other squads that come after the main one.

-Main and static part of the infantry squad, and he goes better during frontal attack missions, mostly if they have time to prepare traps.

COMBAT

His combat style is defensive, but will take a turn to the offensive if it's needed. His first choice weapon is also a Bowie knife. Elliot will never admit it, but he refuses to learn another kind of combat, not out of arrogance, but because he isn't sure he'll be at a good level in time for the missions.

TRIVIA

-His main hobby is solve puzzles, any kind of puzzle he can get, he'll try to solve it. Inside his room has a collection and everyone always gift him a new one on his birthday.

-Most part of the time he's inside the hangars, so he interacts more with Luke and Edward, also with Francis because the younger one is the one who keep him down to earth.

-He also doesn't have a car, and everyone prays for him to stay like that. Elliot...likes a bit to much Gran Turismo, and it could be great if only he knew how to drive as a sane person. Also Elijah lent him his Camaro once and he almost crashed it down...since then he's banned from using any civilian car out the base, except on special ocations.

-More than once, Alicia has seen him let some stray cats inside the base, but she never said anything. Mostly because she also got attached to them and is thinking to adopt one (and call it gun powder)

-His callsign speaks for itself, and it wasn't something that his peers gave him to joke or in a good mood. On the contrary, it was a way to almost insult him because of his attitude. But Elliot took it anyway because it fits him.

-He doesn't have any favorite food, and is really picky to eat. But when he enlisted, he forced himself to eat all the MRE's out in the field and the lunches when they're on the base. He eats everything, but doesn't enjoys it, maybe only Alexander's biscuits.

I don’t think Elliot would necessarily have a problem with considering Noah his son because he was adopted. Elliot is fine with adoption as long as the child doesn’t have capable alive biological parents, and Noah is an orphan. That being said the only appropriate way to become a father in his eye is to either be a biological father or a father from birth, and he’s neither of those to Noah. I just don’t see him easily slipping into that role so easily when fatherhood is such a defining aspect of who he is. It’s almost a ritual to him, the act of fatherhood.

penny is one of the sweetest characters in the game, she deserves some headcanons <3

• Penny's music taste is probably somewhere on folk-ish side. Avid Taylor Swift fan, her favorite album being evermore. She mainly only listens to folklore and evermore, due to their stylistic choices, but she does dabble into every other album. Lover is also a pretty big one. Another one of her favorite artists is Noah Kahan, she enjoys she softer songs like All My Love and Everywhere, Everything.

• Her love language is receiving words of affirmation and giving acts of service. She would die for someone to just tell her she did a good job cleaning the house, or just general reassurance about something. Growing up, she didn't get too much encouragement. We all know her mother, and it only makes sense for her to need words of affirmation, but she would bend over backwards to do something for you! If you want it done, give her two to three business days.

• The reason why Poppy is her favorite flower is because she believes that it's beauty is unappreciated. She's also the type to go into flower meanings, and she knows a lot of them. Poppy symbolizes remembrance and hope, which Penny loves. Penny is someone that is full of hope, and her favorite flower shares that meaning. She doesn't understand why the other girls in the town don't like it.

• She buys Elliot's books everytime they come out, even if they're not her style. She wants to support her friends, and she'll read his book no matter what! The same goes for Leah, she will buy a ton of Leah's works, just to support her and make her happy. She has them displayed on a bookshelf, right next to Elliot's books. She is a big supporter of the arts.

• One of her favorite (and only) memories of her father is when she was young, he brought her on a daddy-daughter date to the forest. They ate melons by the pond, feeding the seagulls. That's why melons are her favorite food. Her father left at a young age, due to Pam's drinking. He couldn't mentally take it anymore, and he hated leaving Penny behind, but custody wouldn't allow it.

• Her worst fear is turning into her mother. She wants to be the polar opposite. That's why she goes out of her way to help the kids of the town, educate the town because she didn't have a figure to help educate her. Plus, she's always loved the idea of giving children the childhood she never had. Free from stress and filled with many opportunities. That's one of her goals in life.

OLIVIA BENSON

--> How I feel about this character:

I mean, it's no secret that I love Olivia Benson.

I was speaking to a friend the other day about SVU and how it's lasted a long time. It's not just because the stories are interesting (they are) or even titilating (sexual assault, molestation, murder, they all have the possibility of titilation, but I don't think SVU goes there... not often at any rate... they do a pretty good job of not glorifying the abuse and horror).

A large part is, of course, Olivia Benson. She is the beating heart of SVU.

Olivia is strong, empathetic, fierce, she takes no prisoners, her morals are strong, she is caring and protective, and she will fight like hell for justice, sometimes at great personal cost.

Olivia is the person each of us has needed at one or more points in our lives. Also the person that the majority of us did not get.

Mariska talks about fans sending her letters to tell her how much Olivia has helped them. And it's true.

We have all wanted and needed an Olivia in our lives. And we have all, to some degree, wanted to be Olivia.

She is not perfect, she has her flaws, but they are easily overlooked for all the benefits she brings.

And we have watched her from baby Benson to seasoned Captain. We have grown with her.

She gives us hope.

And that is why we have 25 seasons of SVU.

Well, Elliot obviously. It's very strange, I don't even really like Elliot that much and during my rewatches by the end of S12 I am just counting down the episodes until he leaves. BUT, he is Olivia's main choice and he makes her happy. So, because I love Olivia, I want her to have what she wants.

Alex. Amanda. Barba. Langan (thought I get why they never went there). Rita a little.

I don't really read much of anything besides EO, but in my little dreams, I think the others would make excellent partners, or at least bedmates.

Just to completely step on my own toes from the previous answer, but...

Barba. I adored their canon relationship, the besties that they were. They adored each other and were there when each needed the other. She needed a strong friendship like that, that wasn't tied to being their boss.

Obviously Noah. She waited so long for that boy. She loves him dearly and he loves her and they deserve all the happiness in the world together.

--> My unpopular opinion about this caracter:

I don't know if I really have one. She's a little too quick to anger and she's always a little too ready to break the law to suit her needs. But these are not opinions.

Perhaps, despite her later claims that she never wanted to be part of the "good ol' boys club" and how she acts distraught at the possibility one of her old interrogations may have been a forced confession... in the early years Olivia is all too ready to look the other way and, in fact, join in when Elliot and even Fin are being overly rough and forceful and breaking about ten different codes of police conduct.

There was one episode I saw recently where Elliot got all up in a step father's face, yelling, red faced, almost spitting out his hatred as he spoke of this man's lust for his daughter that they assumed he'd raped... it was quite heavy handed. And the guy eventually reacts and goes at Elliot. Olivia is instantly cuffing this guy and gleefully arresting him for assaulting a police officer. And like... Olivia Margaret Benson, you litereally just WATCHED Elliot provoke him.

Elliot's violence got results and she was all too ready to excuse him for it.

She never would have grown into the amazing police woman she is had Elliot stayed around. She gave him way too much power in that partnership.

--> One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character:

I want somebody to choose her.

So many of the people she has loved have ended up leaving, because they stayed too long, because they sacrificed their own morals for her, because they broke the law for her, because... because... because... and she even says "I didn't ASK you to" and it makes no difference.

I'm not saying they didn't have good reason to leave. They're adults they can choose.

One thing I have consistently said, is that the show repeats "the average stint in SVU is two years" several times. That is, of course, unless you meet Olivia Benson. Then it becomes your life's purpose. She doesn't see that these people have stayed for her, stayed longer than is healthy, longer than they meant to.... and all because of her. She doesn't see that, she sees them leave.

Re: my last post about Bensler’s dynamic shift

I now badly want human!Olivia werewolf!Elliot au. If he gets nicely groomed he almost looks not a wolf. He hates grooming, but loves the walkies he gets because of it. Liv wanted to pet him the first time she saw his wolf form but restrained herself with great difficulty. He is quite furry but his tail is thin and skinny in deference to his bald head. If Olivia knelt up on the ground and he sat, their heads would be the same height. He has a tendency to react in dog-like ways when it’s been a short while since the full moon, doing stuff like whirling around when Olivia is coming down the hall before anyone else can even hear her. The most humiliating moment of Elliot’s life and the funniest for Olivia was when they were both undercover but he wasn’t supposed to be near her and they needed to make up an excuse as the bad guys were approaching their hiding spot. Olivia told him to turn and then semi-successfully explained to the perps that he was a service dog. Kathleen is the only one of Elliot’s kids to have knowingly inherited the were genes until Eli comes along. Elliot got the genes from his mother of course. Olivia’s mother was a selkie so mythical creatures don’t surprise her, but luckily she didn’t inherit any of those genes or those of her father’s mythological form. She’s just a normal human. Noah, however, is a wind sprite. Jet is a black-footed werecat. She bonds with Elliot over this.

Val, Leon, and Magnus (along w their respective partners)

OTP Asks

Val Polycule (Andy, Lucas, Noah, and Dan) (ILITW)

Who would beg the other not to leave? Who has to leave to protect the other? Well. The fun thing about this one is that it's canon. Noah literally on his knees begging Val not to go while Val leaves (dies) so Noah doesnt have to and everyone else is free.... Who would get into a fight to defend the other's honor? Who tends to the other's wounds? By the time the others process what is happening and what the person said, Val is already leaping into "battle" and Andy is right at his heels. Meanwhile Lucas and Noah are physically dragging them away by their scruffs and Dan is sighing as he heads off to get the first aid kit.

Does either of them have a secret that could potentially ruin their relationship? Not in the uh, traditional sense. But Val constantly lies and hides his feelings to an unhealthy extent and his defensiveness when pushed does NOT helped. It's let to more than one fight and even an instance where he and Lucas didn't talk for a week. But thankfully Val does get his head out of his ass and goes to therapy to start working on it and does get better.

Leon and Tom (ILB)

Who would beg the other not to leave? Who has to leave to protect the other? I'm not entirely sure of a scenario where it would happen but Leon would leave Tom to protect him in a heartbeat and Tom would NOT be happy about it. I'm talking Leon tells him and is out the door before Tom has even realized what Leo was saying and then Tom storms outside after him. However. The reverse is also not out of the equation. You see, when Leon was missing in ILW, one of the avenues explored for where he could be involved Elliot hunting down and interrogating Leon's bio dad, Steve Killian. And when Leon was saved sweet, well-meaning Elliot let Steve know. Unfortunately this brought Leon's transphobic and homophobic father to Pine Springs to see him. It would be very likely that Tom with his very low self-esteem and severe guilt, would see how much Leon is learning and try to help take a piece of it off his shoulders by leaving.

Who would get into a fight to defend the other's honor? Who tends to the other's wounds? Leon would DEFINITELY fight to defend Tom's honor even against Tom's fellow nerds. And Tom will so gently tend to Leon's wounds while also making Leon swear he will not do something like that again. Leon will absolutely do it again.

Does either of them have a secret that could potentially ruin their relationship? After ILW Leon ends up with powers...ones he very much doesnt want and tries to deny. He doesn't tell anyone. Not even Tom or Elliot. As a result they kind of...explode and he hurts both Parker and Danni. Tom is pissed. Being lied to about the power is what got him possessed last time and while he can handle Leon having powers, lying about them is a whole other story.

Magnus and Marcus (LoA/Windverse)

Who would beg the other not to leave? Who has to leave to protect the other? Marcus actually, even though it seems like it should be Magnus. Magnus left once to protect himself. But after an encounter with a particularly jealous fan that lands Magnus and Zahir in the hospital (nothing too serious, just some bruises and a concussion and a few broken bones) after what they thought was a work dinner Marcus tries to leave Magnus to protect him. However he severely underestimates Magnus's stubborness and Magnus bugs him with phone calls and texts until Magnus takes time off work just to show up at Marcus's house and Marcus's bodyguard even lets him in. Magnus then stands there and refuses to leave until Marcus either calls the police or gets his head out of his ass. He very much does thankfully

Who would get into a fight to defend the other's honor? Who tends to the other's wounds? While both would defend the other, Marcus is the one more likely to actually fight someone for Magnus. And Magnus will call him an idiot, to his face, multiple times, while patching him up.

Does either of them have a secret that could potentially ruin their relationship? Secret? Yes. Magnus is so cagey about his past and Marcus just completely ignores his own, not in a unhealthy way but in more of a disownment "moving on" way.

Posting this on its own from my convo with adribelladonna: ironic that we got more insight as to the kind of person Bridget is deep down (cares for Anne's victory or loss aginst Hugh, indignant when Gladice started eating the pieces of the fief sculpture belonging to Noah, worried when the silver sugar was ruined by the rain, etc) only when she's a side character/relegated to the background.

But then again, that's also the only time when she can do what she wants without people rebuking her or telling her no. Being in the limelight means having everyone's attention and their two cents as to what she should or shouldn't do as the daughter of the Paige workshop master with little to no consideration for what she wants.

It's no wonder that whenever whenever people are looking at her (her father, Elliot, Anne, etc.), she puts on an air of indifference or pretends to be unaffected. It's a way to protect herself.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in New York City, New York. His family during many years were his father, his mother, his uncle and him, but now there's only the men. As a kid, he was an absolute mom's boy, although he keeps an amazing relationship with his father.

When he was younger they all lived on Little Italy, and he passed part of his time inside his father's store, helping with the register while he was on high school. During that time he met Keyra when she went to buy groceries, it was a daily thing, but that time was somehow different and they ended up dating after many funny situations. He took a year and half before enlisting, again to help with the family bussiness, and once he enlisted to the Marine Corps, he departed to Camp Pendelton.

When he finished basic training, he was assigned to one team, his first and last team before the Specters. After his first deployment, and even against some people advices, he proposed and married Keyra, and has never regreted it. But during that first years, he learned about his mom's diagnosis, she had stomach cancer.

It was difficult to hear, and mostly to see his father so drained when he accompained her to chemotherapy. He talked with Keyra about and both decided to help with the costs of the treatments, so a big part of his salary went to it. Even his uncle flew from Florence to help them with the bussiness, to gave his own brother a break, also Keyra helped her mother-in-law everytime she could.

Marcus had a hard time to go and see his mom, but when he was able to do it, he went even if it hurted like hell to see her that way. Right now he prefers not to evoke the image of his mother, how tired, sick and sad she looked, and how she tried to smile to him. That lasted during a couple more years before his mother passed away, and it hurted during the next two years and still hurts until today.

It was difficult to keep going, but he did, helping his father and with Keyra's help. After it, he continued inside the Marine Corps, and soon Wraith went to talk with him to offer him a place inside the Specters. Soon he arrived to Black Tomb, and there he has stayed from then on.

SKILLS

-Specialized on many fire weapons, his favorites during missions are a Galil 556. and a Carabin M4.

-Main and static part of the infantry squad, but he goes better during infiltration missions. They are the second squad to get inside the objective, always behind the recon squad.

COMBAT

His combat style is specialized on ofenssive, not as variated as the Captain's, but it make him almost an expert on MCMAP. His first choice weapon is also a Bowie knife. He's teaching their combat style to some of the team, and he practices usually with Alexander and the Captain.

TRIVIA

-Marcus loves to learn how to play every instrument he can get his hands on. So far he knows how to play guitar, drums, flaute, tamborine, bass and piano.

-He's madly in love with Keyra. Every time he's off deployment he arrives at the house with a flower bouquet, his wife favorite dinner and some beautiful jewels. He always feels guilty for leaving her during missions, but every time she reassures him that she'll be fine and that she's proud of him.

-He has no car but Keyra does. She got a blue Chevrolet Spark, it's nothing luxurious and a bit old but she uses it almost everyday.

-Marcus doesn't have a favorite music genre, but enjoys specially the music in spanish. Noah has played jokes on him many time because of it.

-Everytime he has the opportunity to talk about his wedding, HE WILL! It amuses the team, but they are happy to hear how their friend has a happy marriage. Everyone gave him ideas for some dates, and Marcus helped Luke with everything related to his own wedding.

-His callsign was an accident, to be honest. During a call with his now deceased mother, he heard her talking about a documentary she was watching, about true crime. His mother muttered something related a random fact mentioned, and he recognized it instantly a way of how killing with poison. They started calling him Poison, and it stayed!

-He always goes to get himself checked looking for any kind of cancer. He refuses to take a risk about it.

-His favorite drink is soda, he doesn't have a determined brand, just takes anything in stock. And his favorite food is pancakes, specifically the ones with banana and chocolate sirup! Everytime they go to a dinner or a cafe, Marcus will order pancakes and if it has also powdered suger on top...he can die happy.

She asks for Fin to stay with her during the rape kit, and Elliot has to hold back his tears when she mumbles something about Fin being there for the last two.

So he stands in the hallway with Noah, holding his son's head against his chest as the boy sobs, mumbling quiet "I know, I know"s into his mop of hair.

"She's so broken, she's not herself." Noah whimpers, gripping his dad's t-shirt tightly as they stand. "This isn't fair."

Elliot's lips quiver and he blinks hard against the sting in his eyes. "I know. And the sad reality of it all is, she probably won't be herself for a long time. But she has us to help her get there."

Noah sniffles once, rubbing his nose as he looks back up at his father. He wipes furiously at his eyes with the back of his free hand. "Yeah," he hiccups. "Yeah, you're right."

There's silence between them for several moments, Noah's breaths slowing down and his grip on his father loosening until he stops clutching him so tightly. When he pulls back, his eyes are red and puffy, and he looks like he's aged three years.

"Thank you, dad." He smiles sadly up at Elliot, before slipping past him into the bathroom to wash his tear stained face.

Elliot stands for a short while longer, looking around the empty hospital corridor as a fresh wave of tears fill his eyes before he makes his way to the chapel.

The last time he was here was a good 7 years ago, when he'd prayed for Kathy's soul to be safe after she'd died. An overwhelming sense of deja vu overcomes him as he kneels in front of the altar, placing his palms against his closed eyelids and praying silently for Olivia to find peace.

He stays kneeling there, silent prayers flowing through his mind until he feels a hand on his shoulder.

Slowly, Elliot lowers his hands from his eyes, blinking hard as he turns his head towards the source of contact. His eyes go wide when he meets Amanda's.

"Didn't think you'd know where to find me."

"Katie had a suspicion. I told her and Joe to go home. Lizzie's gone too. Noah wouldn't be convinced." Amanda sits down beside Elliot quietly, her hand resting against his shoulder as she stares up at the ceiling.

After a few minutes of silence, Amanda glances at Elliot, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the silent tears streaming down his cheeks. "How is she?"

Elliot's voice cracks when he speaks. "I've never seen her like this. Ever. I know I wasn't there for her in 2014, but this…. this can't even compare to the case files I've read."

Amanda nods understandingly, understanding what he means, despite her having no idea. "She'll be okay, Stabler. We all will."

Her hospital room is quiet. Calm. There's no nurses running around, no doctors barking out orders. Just a peaceful silence, only broken ever once in a while when one of the machine she's hooked up to beeps.

Fin is sitting in a chair next to her bed, one hand stroking her hair while the other holds on to hers. He's talking to her softly, filling her in on the things she's missed. Her son, her squad, everything.

"Elliot adopted Noah about 6 months after you went missing. We all thought you were dead, but they didn't declare that officially till about two years later. He's been doing good with the Stablers, he hangs out with me and Phoebe after school on Fridays. He's got a boyfriend now, Vincent. Nice kid, they've been dating about a year," He speaks quietly, her hand giving his a light squeeze every once in a while.

"Muncy decided to come back about a month after you went missing. Decided the DEA task force wasn't for her. She went over your case every second of every day, dedicated herself to following in your footsteps."

He pauses, watches as her face scrunches up in pain, and adjusts the dial on her morphine dosage.

"She and Velasco dated for a while, but they ended up deciding they were better as friends. He's dating Kathleen now, you know, Elliot's daughter? Joe got shot and Katie was the attending nurse. Straight outta one of those romance books you always used to read."

The corners of her mouth twitch upwards in a smile, as Fin continues to speak.

"Let me think… Lizzie opened her own bakery, Dickie and Jet are working on making a video game together. Oh, Amanda and Carisi had their baby. A little girl, her name's Maggie. You're gonna love her, she's a carbon copy of her father."

"And Elliot?" She finally speaks, her voice raspy and dry.

"It's been hard on him, you disappearing and the whole search to find you. He's the one that convinced the brass to keep the case open. They wanted to close it after a year, but he knew you were out there somewhere."

He tells her quietly, watching her nod slowly.

"Knowing him he's gonna be standing over you like he's your bodyguard the minute I leave this room. I gotta say, I don't blame him."

She lets out a soft chuckle, and Fin beams at the sound. She can still laugh. That's good.

He turns his head as he hears the door open, watching Noah and Elliot walk in.

"Speak of the devil." He winks at Olivia. "I'll leave you alone now, babygirl. You did good. Proud of you." He smiles at her, giving her hand one last squeeze before he leaves the room.

The door clicks closed behind him. He watches through the frosted glass as Noah climbs onto the bed and Elliot takes a seat in the chair he just stood up from.

Noah snuggles against Olivia through the thick layer of blankets, and he watches as they both close their eyes, the exhaustion of the day taking over.

After he's sure they're both asleep, Elliot leans forward and rests his head on the edge of the bed as well, his hand staying wrapped around hers the entire time.
