Temuera Morrison bringing Māori culture into his role as he plays Boba Fett: perfect!
Boba Fett not accepting his Mandalorian heritage despite his upbringing, as he feels disconnected from it after Jango died: sad, but understandable!
Temuera Morrison being the only person to portray a Mandalorian with the rightful Māori influence BUT said Mandalorian not being accepted in the canon culture: BAD

Ok fine! You’ve convinced me! I’ll learn how to draw specifically so I can draw codywan kissing, you’ve spread your gospel successfully
How do you draw tho fr cuz I can doodle like, funky lookin birds but people is fully out of my depth send help
AAAA HELL YEAHHHH!!!!! LET'S GOOOO!!!!!
You've opened a can of worms asking me for art advice so *cracks knuckles* buckle up.
I sort of (only a little bit) use the Loomis method for easy head drawing. Here is a playlist of YouTube videos by Proko. Highly, highly recommend that channel for your art tutorial needs!
I start with a circle. For side profiles, I draw a line down the side of the circle to determine where the features will sit upon. I draw a triangular shape to mark where the orbital socket is. Around the middle point of the circle is where the jawline ends and the ear begins so draw a line there. There are proportion rules which are good guidelines when starting out in art but since I've been doing this my entire life, I have a feel for things and just wing it. That's to say, I put in a line implying the jaw based on vibes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, I draw the eyebrows and brow ridge. Then the nose. I find I majorly base my proportions on this area so if anything is off, it throws the rest of the face off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then I draw the lips and chin... or in Obi-Wan's case, his beard. I will mark in his sideburns and hairline as well. Now, about ears: generally the top of the ear begins right around the top of the eyebrow and stops at the base of the nose. At this point I like to draw his eye, define the cheekbone, and refine the eyebrow. I'll finish scribbling in hair and that's it!
(Cody is much the same but I forgot to take useful progress pics 😂)

Extended Art Advice 👇
Tip #1: Draw lightly. Do not ever grip your pencil tight. This only leads to pain. You will notice I didn't erase at all. This is partly because I know what marks to make because I've done it a million times before and also because my lines are soft enough I can make lots of them and choose to deepen the ones that work.
Tip #2: Practice, practice, practice. Artistic skill is just loads and loads of accumulated knowledge and muscle memory from practice. This sounds boring but, in reality, you should make it fun.
Tip #3: Draw from observation/USE REFERENCE! The only reason I can get away without using reference when I'm feeling lazy is because I've drawn the same things over and over enough times it stuck. Aka I did lots of practice.
Now, to combine all these tips together, let's talk about how to use reference and how to make practice fun.
Reference is a huge aid when drawing at any point in your art journey. But I've found that in order to learn from what you're looking at, you need to think critically.
You obviously have something you want to draw. Reference helps you with that. You'll start out trying to draw what you see. Eventually you will run into an obstacle where you've messed up and things aren't looking good. This is to be expected. Every time this happens, think about what isn't working and find solutions with your reference. Analyze your subject to find your answers. Draw it again. Do not be afraid of failure. Each time you fail, you must look for a solution and this will lead you closer to your goal. This is how you grow as an artist.
I know, it sounds dreadfully boring and like a shit ton of work. It is a lot of work but you can make it fun! You love Obi-Wan and Cody so make Pinterest boards of Ewan McGregor and Temuera Morrison. Whatever you want to practice (may that be eyes, mouths, hands, hair, the face as a whole, etc) draw them. Ever hear tracing is bad? Fuck that. It's a perfectly valid tool to help you learn. If you're drawing digitally, pull up your reference in the art program of your choice, lower the opacity a little, make a new layer and trace what you see. I honestly find tracing to be very hard so when I've done this, I prefer to try to find shapes that will aid me when I'm actually drawing. If you're drawing traditionally, you can print out the photo and trace over it with a tracing paper or use a lightbox. You can also up the brightness on your computer screen and tape a piece of paper and trace that way.
Photos aren't the only references you can use! You can always look to your favorite artists' work and try to figure out how they do it. Often artists will break things down into more easily digestible shapes that will help you better understand how things work. Remember, if you ever copy or trace someone's art, it is for learning purposes only and you shouldn't post it. Feel free to take elements of people's art that you like and put your own spin on it though. For instance: I really love how this one artist draws men's tits so I studied a bunch of their art and now I'm much better at drawing them.
Oh and did you think you only get practice in while studying? Wrong! There's no reason you should shy away from trying to make the art you really want just because your skills aren't the most refined. Spoiler alert: you will grow the most when you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Draw codywan kissing. Draw it really enthusiastically and through profuse swearing and gritted teeth... but never a clenched hand. Don't hold back from the fun stuff just because it's hard. Aim high, land low, and shoot even higher next time.
In the beginning it will be especially frustrating. You'll feel like everything you make is a failure and nothing works out. You'll feel like you're not making any progress. Trust me, you are making progress and I believe in you.
If something really isn't working out and you find yourself growing distressed, take a break. It might last an hour or a week. Just take the break. Don't push it. Come back with fresh eyes and less stress. We all have days where nothing comes out right. Sometimes I can't even draw anything resembling a human face. It's okay. Whisper-yell expletives at your artwork and take the break. It will be okay.
With all that said, happy drawing and even happier codywan kissing!! 🧡💋🩵

This is gonna be a long one so bear with me…
Emerging once again with some more fun stuff! I attended Megacon this past weekend on Saturday and Sunday and did some pretty awesome stuff. First off I met Daniel Logan (played Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones) and he was such a sweetheart to me! I started it off by telling him I apologized in advance for how awkward I am and he said, “That’s okay! I’m awkward too! Just in an extroverted way!” He didn’t even stay behind his table he came around to stand next to me and talk and ended it by saying, “Come here, give me a hug.” And gave me the nicest hug (I always want to hug celebrities I meet but always freeze up and forget to so it was really nice of him to offer it).
Then I went over to his space dad, Temuera Morrison! The line was super long but I had my Lula plush and headphones to get me through it. Unfortunately they had to hurry things along because he had to get to his panel (which worked for me because I wanted to see the panel too) but I did manage to tell him that I think his portrayal of Boba Fett is the coolest, to which he said, “Thank you so much, but really, look at you! You’re much cooler!” And gave me a fist bump (I was wearing a Boba Fett shirt, Boba Fett jacket, Boba Fett backpack, and had Bad Batch pins on my jacket).
Then I went to the panel and met up with my friend to go meet Dee Bradley Baker afterward and we got super lucky because he was on a break so there was a very very short line to see him. We both walked up together and got Bad Batch prints and he used his Tech voice when signing mine and Wrecker voice when signing theirs. I then really wanted to tell him how much all of the Bad Batch mean to me because I’m an odd one out, but the one I really feel connected with it Tech. I told him how much the moment in Season 2 Epsiode 9 between Tech and Omega meant to me and how it made me feel seen and while explaining to him he continued using his Tech voice and then told me, “You’re not alone out there.” And that pretty much wrapped up Saturday.
Starting Sunday off early of me practically running to catch the Clone Wars panel (and accidentally making my friend think it was a different panel that they really wanted to see) and we got a free print! (I’ll show off my haul in a different post) During the panel, Dee Bradley Baker was asked who his personal favorite clone is and he talked about how much he likes the Bad Batch because they’re the odd ones out, much like him. Then someone asked the cast what their favorite mental health moment in Star Wars is and Dee Bradley Baker brought up the exact moment I told him about the previous day and talked about how he’s had people come up to him to tell him that that moment made them felt seen (I have a video of it that I’ll post as well). Once he started talking about it I was tearing up something awful (which was bad because I had done my makeup up a bit more than usual). The whole panel was so happy and meaningful, I think several tears were shed among the audience at some points. However, the main event of the day was yet to come.
I was going to meet the man who started this all, who started my social media presence in Tumblr and opened up a whole new experience for me. I, after 12 years of being a huge fan, was going to meet Tom Hiddleston. Unfortunately, the people in charge of keeping his autographs and photo ops coordinated gave me severe run arounds. I was told several different things, so luckily I covered my bases on all ends to finally make sure that I was going to the right spot at the right time. He had a panel at the end of the day right before the last batch of autographs (which I was part of) and my friend had a ticket to it (it was prepaid and I didn’t want to spend a fuck ton more) so we both went over to the area of the panel and autograph together at 3:00 PM. My ticket for the autograph was 5:45. After some extra run arounds I finally figured out where I was supposed to be and met someone who talked with me the whole time we were in waiting. For the general admission line, I was second in line.
Then comes time for the panel to start, and it gets delayed by an hour and 20 minutes (because Megacon couldn’t coordinate things properly, surprise surprise). The panel started 5 minutes after my autograph ticket said that I was meant to be at the autograph room. I was lucky to be sitting with someone who talked with me the whole time because we were both in line for 4 hours. 7:00 PM rolls around and we’re finally getting ready to go into the room, and I already know that they’re going to keep everyone’s interaction brief because the rest of the convention closed at 5:00 PM.
As we walked in I could see him and I went dead silent because I’ve never seen him in person before. I brought my Lula plush with me again for Sunday and I don’t think I’ve held onto something tighter in my life. Then I heard him talk and I was absolutely stunned. When I say this man is so soft spoken and just has such a calming energy about him, I mean it. And he’s so pretty in person, I couldn’t believe it. The person I talked with in the line was the first person in line for general admission and was wearing Slytherin robes. She started to cry and was covering half her face with her sleeve and he looked up from the print he was signing for her and said, “I can see you.” In a joking way to make her laugh. Then it was my turn and at this point I probably looked like a scared toddler clutching their plushie against them. I luckily found words and it went something like, “I’ve been a fan of you since I was 12 and I’m 25 now and your work means a lot to me and Loki is my favorite and I think you’re great I’m sorry I’m just super starstruck” (said very quickly with no breaks). I didn’t even say hi, I just started with that. His smile was so sweet and he was so kind even though they had him keep everything brief and before I walked away I told him, “Thank you so much for being here” and he stopped the interaction with the next person in line to smile at me and say, “No, thank you for being here.” I was barely holding it together now and I walked out of the room like everything was fine.
Then my friends and I stopped outside of the room to talk and dry off my autograph and they were telling me how good I did. Well, I wasn’t speaking much and my hand was trembling. My close friend immediately noticed what was about to happen and hugged me, and I hugged them back and that’s when the tears began. I apologize if this part is a little dark for some, but this is what was going through my mind as my friend hugged me. The moment I started crying, I had my eyes closed and I imagined telling younger me, “We did it, we made it.” I had some really down and dark moments in my past between 2012 and now. I’m much better than I have been, but it hit me that I lasted long enough to see the day that I met the man who basically helped me get through some of my dark moments. Tom was such a sweetheart, and super fucking tall might I say. He was sitting down and we were at eye level with each other.
Thus the Megacon weekend concluded, and I do have to say that the coordination of things was… Not great. The celebrities there were absolute sweethearts to everyone, but some of the staff were very rude, some were giving people run arounds, and some were just straight up unhelpful. There were only a handful of staff that actually helped us out and were nice enough to not give an attitude about our questions. I knew that going Saturday and Sunday would be pretty packed, and luckily it wasn’t like last years Megacon event where we literally couldn’t move if we were in the Artist Alley. Outside of the celebrities there and panels that they had, the experience really wasn’t the greatest. This portion is basically just a warning to people, if you go to Megacon Orlando you’re likely not going to have the absolute best experience (unless you pay a fuck ton of money for VIP). Overall, it was a good and bad experience, I’m just happy that I met the people I wanted to meet. If you made it this far, thank you for reading. Until next time.

i told myself i would stop being hater but the problem is over the fact that temuera morrison was supposed to show up as boba fett in season 3 of the mandalorian (RIGHT FULLY SO MIGHT I INCLUDE BECAUSE THEY STOLE EPISODES AWAY FROM HIM IN HIS OWN SHOW) and then it gets revealed that he didn't even get a call to come back??
you know what? i'm going to say it. it feels racist. everything recently feels racist. so you're going to take time away from the mandalorian's protagonist, played by a latino man, and give the spotlight to a white lady who's character has been OPENLY racist towards others (ESPECIALLY BOBA FETT) and give her the spotlight and make her ruler based off a technicality only AFTER she's lost it multiple times before? and then on top of that- you're gonna make a shitty ahmed best cameo ONE time that didn't even do him justice- AND THEN you're NOT going to include BOBA FUCKING FETT?? AND ANOTHER THING- YOU'VE WHITEWASHED THE BAD BATCH SO FUCKING MUCH THEY DON'T EVEN RESEMBLE TEMUERA AT ALL???? AND ALSO THAT ONE THING WHERE DISNEY CUT COMMANDER CODYS ROLE IN THE KENOBI SHOW??? DO YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH YOU'RE TAKING AWAY RIGHT NOW??
so you take out two episodes away from boba's story in his own show. and then boba fett doesn't even get to show up in season 3 of the mandalorian. you take his role away, and then give the spotlight to bo-katan (i'm not even a bo-katan hater btw), who was openly racist towards boba because he was a clone and said that he wasn't deserving of his fathers armor. and then temuera morrison speaks up about it and NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING?? do you understand how fucking horrible that is? you've taken away so much from him and his influence on star wars- ESPECIALLY the influence on mandalorian culture from polynesian culture. like. i don't know how else to say this. i really don't. but it just feels so fucking racist. this is so wrong.

I've been thinking about what the Bad Batch means to me these past few weeks and things just don't quite sit right. When I started watching the Clone Wars, it felt like a lot of love and care had been poured into the project. The clones had unique personalities built from the ground up, with even minor characters getting quirks. Hevy only appeared in two episodes, yet is so loved. Hardcase is missed despite only really appearing in one arc because of expert character crafting and real, actual effort with the writing.
The point of the Clone War was that the clones were individuals, they had agency and they could have an impact on their lives and others. Referred to as 'property', with no representation or rights, they are slave soldiers in function, who are biologically identical although at times with slight variation, but their personalities and motivations matter and have weight. This is why Fives nearly ruins Palpatine's plans. This is why Rex is able to resist the inhibitor chip in Order 66 and help save Ahsoka.
This is why I'm not sure I can forgive the Bad Batch.
Spitting on Grandpa
Tumblr media
When the Bad Batch started, I was initially quite excited because it was advertised as a sequel to the Clone Wars. The first episode opens up with the title 'The Clone Wars' fading into the Bad Batch, but the show is anything but because the 'regs', as normal clones have been dubbed, don't matter now. Instead, the only characters with agency are a special group of clones who mostly don't look like the clones based on Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison) or even scientifically fit the basic definition of what a 'clone' is.
How is this not meant to be insulting for TCW and the Clone Fandom? I watch normal clones like Commander Wilco get shot in the face. I watch Mayday choke and die for Crosshair's development. I watch Rex play second fiddle to the Bad Batch on screen, the man and leader who used to always say "I'm always first, kid" and take the reins. I watch Cody appear for an episode only to not appear again this season and have no impact on the narrative other than Crosshair's development. Can 'regs' no longer change the world? Do the 'boring', 'regular' slave soldiers have no impact anymore?
Echo: "The fate of all the clones is now sealed because of us."
When it comes to normal clones impacting the narrative, the closest we get is Rex's resistance network, which features actual clones actually doing something. Yet apparently an episode about the Bad Batch discovering an island paradise world and battling a tsunami deserves more screen time than seeing how the 'regs' set that one up. Even this plot point is less about finally saving Howzer and normal clones like him, and more about Echo not being with the Bad Batch and further setting up the plot regarding Tech and Crosshair. The normal clones remain non-entities outside of the Bad Batch's development, they have no agency beyond this.
This is why we see stock reg clone characters bully the Bad Batch in the Season 1 opening, because despite them all being slaves under the thumb of fascism and the fact normal clones treated Ninety-Nine (the beloved hunchback clone from TCW Season 3) fine, it's the Bad Batch's plight that only matters now, their persecuted perspective on being special and better than the regs, regs that are now treated as old news, an afterthought. The world feels small, and inexcusably less richer than it was.
Tumblr media
Essentially, we're no longer allowed to see what the reg clones motivations are, why there are reg clones that actually, canonically, dislike the Bad Batch as opposed to Ninety-Nine. People like to speculate, but on screen we are not shown or told in TBB. We're also not shown why all the named clones from Howzer, Mayday, Fireball, Gregor and Nemec to Cut, Cody and Rex never had issues with the differences other than they're the good regs I guess. Hell, even Cody and Mayday's remaining squad say nothing of Crosshair's mutations, not even one catty comment.
Conclusion
So, what does this mean? The Bad Batch steals the clones' agency and makes it their own. They wear the clone identity, but refuse to help normal 'reg slave' clones that look like actual clones in favour of focusing on themselves and their 'more important' personal problems. The Bad Batch are special not because of who they are or that they've worked hard, but because they look different from other clones, because they're just more capable and have special abilities. It's not who you are that counts, it's what you are.
And, now, I even see fans doing what TCW told us not to, disregarding normal clones, 'explaining' why the Bad Batch are fine to leave the reg clones to die because they called them "The Sad Batch" one time. Somehow the Bad Batch undoes all of TCW's work, stripping the clones of their agency and making them into just victims sleepwalking into extinction as we wait for the Bad Batch to consider trying to actively save them.
Echo: "The fate of all the clones is now sealed because of us."
And, then the rest of TBB go cave exploring and holidaying on Pabu. This series might as well be about natborns.

Songs in the Kitchen (Bad Batch fluff)
Tumblr media
Summary: You're appalled when you find out about your new team's lack of nutrition and...well, what fun is cooking without a little dancing? Hunter x GN Reader and (platonic) Omega and Reader. No warnings, just cute domestic fluff.
A.N: Got this idea while making dinner last night and listening to Temuera Morrison's cover of Can't Take My Eyes off You. So, you have Clone Daddy to thank for this XD Also!! I have a bone to pick with this song! All my life I thought the lyrics were "I would walk 500 miles" but it's not?? It's "roll"??? My whole life is a lie. Anyway, I hope you guys like this, reblogs and comments are much appreciated!
Tumblr media
"If they ever upgrade this ship, you'll help me convince them to invest in an actual kitchen, right?"
For possibly the fifth time you had rammed your foot into Gonky as he, you, and Omega shuffled around the pitiful table that the soldiers insisted was 'fine enough' for food provisions.
Omega chuckled as she climbed onto said droid to give you some more room. "You got it! I think cooking will be really fun in a real kitchen!"
You smiled down at her, the light in her eyes instantly alleviating any annoyance your stubbed foot may have caused you. You still couldn't believe that you only just discovered last week that Omega, nor any of her clone siblings, had ever learned the basics of cooking. Wrecker insisted that shooting wildlife and spit-roasting them counted...you did not. There was a difference between survival hunting and actual cooking!
In fact, the batch had been quite unphased when you observed the fact that they only ever seemed to eat ration bars and whatever slop they got from local cantinas. That caused a whole uproar on your part, scolding all of them for not caring more about their health. Yes, eating ration bars during the war was...unfortunate, but a harsh necessity. Eating them while away on whatever job they took was...acceptable, you supposed. But when they spent days on a reasonable planet with plenty of resources?! You couldn't believe they thought it was rational to still only eat those dry, tasteless bricks!
So now, here you were carving out the tiniest space available on the ship in an effort to cook your friends a somewhat decent home-cooked meal. Omega, always the bright-eyed wonderer, was eager to help while her brothers were in town for supplies.
Right now 'helping' was mostly just learning, since there honestly wasn't much room for her to do much. But you appreciated the company.
You rummaged through a box of things Tech had gathered for you; things he said were 'adequate cooking substitutes' in lieu of actual utensils, searching for a pear knife. You managed to dig up a serrated vibro dagger....alright, good enough.
While you chopped away at a strange local fruit, and Omega looked on with rapt interest, you couldn't help but smile. Despite the odd circumstances, the whole setting was quite domestic, and you thought of how happy it made you, that Omega was getting her own version of such an experience. Omega, who, like her brothers, had never had parents to dote on them and teach them, to have simple, warm moments like this with.
You hadn't noticed that you were humming until your hips started moving to the melody in your head. It was such an old song, but one that always made you feel so, whimsical, perhaps?
After scooping the first fruit into the bowl you moved on to the next item, one that Hunter had mentioned trying in the market the other day.
Hunter.
The thought of him made some heat fill your cheeks. You wondered- or rather, hoped, that he would like the meal you were making. The night after you had made such a fuss over their eating, Hunter had mentioned something to you, a far-off look in his eye like usual, as if he had a million things on his mind and that was just the one floating to the surface.
"Meal times weren't exactly a good time for us," he'd mused, not even looking at you, "even during downtime on Kamino, it was just another reminder that we didn't belong, even among clones."
That confession, along with an off-handed comment Omega had once made about no one but her sitting with them in the mess hall made your heartache.
Well, this will just be your chance to make mealtime a good memory for them!
Even more determination swelled in your chest as you moved about the small space, you'd have each of them smiling over your food if it killed you!
In fact, with each in mind, you started portioning off Hunter's plate when it came time to add the seasoning. Couldn't have his enhanced senses going mad with too much spice.
That old melody came floating back to you again, as you thought of the handsome sergeant.
"Pardon the way that I stare There's nothin' else to compare The sight of you leaves me weak There are no words left to speak"
The lyrics came easily as you worked, they were words of something pure, innocent; a rarity in this galaxy. A silly little dance even weaved its way into your movements.
"But if you feel like I feel Please let me know that it's real You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of you"
"What are you doing?"
Omega's sudden question snapped you out of your daze- just in time to ram your foot into Gonky again.
After shaking the limb out with a curse you looked up at the child with a brow raised, "Uh?"
"What was that? That strange talking?"
You tilted your head, "Um... you mean my singing?" Come on, you knew you weren't a concert vocalist or anything, but did she really think you were that bad?
Omega's eyes went wide with excitement, "Oh! That's what singing is?"
"You've never heard singing before?!"
Unabashed, the girl just shook her head, "No, I mean, I've heard music before. Every once in a while Nala Se would play some Kaminoian music while she worked, but it was just sounds, no voices."
You stood there stunned for a moment, unable to think of anything to reply with. Just what else had this poor girl been deprived of in her childhood? Now that you thought about it, you'd never heard the boys play any music either. Maker, you hoped they had at least heard singing before.
"Omega," you started after a moment, "would you like to hear some of my music collection while we cook?"
You honestly had not thought it possible for her eyes to sparkle more, but the little one managed it.
Tumblr media
"So you think we got enough?" Wrecker groaned, shifting the crate on his shoulder.
Tech didn't look away from his data pad as he answered, "We acquired everything on the list we were given, I can't fathom there would be any reason for complaint. Even with our friend's sudden, irrational concern for our eating habits."
"Don't mock it like that," Echo chimed in, "I think the change in pace is nice. You can't tell me you actually like those ration bars day in and day out."
"I fail to see how 'like' is of any consequence," was all Tech huffed in response.
Hunter, who was walking ahead of them all, let out a sigh. He wanted to tell them to pick up the pace, but bit back the urge. You had insisted that you could scrape together the first meal with what you had on the ship already, but, if their haul from the market could make your task easier, he wanted to get it to you sooner rather than later.
All of this was just so...sweet of you to begin with. Hunter never wanted to complain about anything regarding their life style, not during the war, not now, it was what it was, and he accepted that. You could have done the same, but instead, you went out of your way to improve things.
Hell, you could have just balked at their lifestyle, and made your own, separate from them, made your own food to eat in your own part of the ship. Instead, you had decided to include them all in your efforts, even putting up with their grumbles and gripes with that cute, bossy attitude you got when you were determined.
Hunter found the whole thing incredibly endearing.
Not to mention your inclusion of Omega. You were giving the little one an experience, a memory that she would carry with her always. The sergeant felt his lips curl up at the thought. You were a good companion for Omega...you were a good companion for all of them.
Unfortunately, his happy little musings were brought to a screeching halt as his hearing picked up on something. His enhanced senses did that a lot, noticing things before his brain could really register them. They were nearing the ship and, had the voices sounded distressed, he would have been on high alert. Instead, they sounded...was that, singing?
"When I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you When I get drunk, well I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you!"
The sound was almost foreign to Hunter's ears, your's and Omega's voices sounded quite different, but it was definitely your vocals crooning over what he now realized was music.
"What is that sound?" Tech asked behind him. They had gotten close enough now that even his brothers could hear it. Hunter could just imagine the shrugs and confused looks they were giving each other as he opened the door at the top of the loading ramp.
"And I would roll 500 miles And I would roll 500 more Just to be the man who rolls a thousand miles To fall down at your door"
In all the years he'd been aboard the Marauder with his team, he'd never seen something quite like this. Your music blared through the ship's speakers while you and Omega danced in the small space he'd cleared for your make-shift kitchen.
"When I'm working, yes I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you!"
You threw something into the sizzling pan atop the would-be hotplate Echo had improvised for you, before leaning down and taking Omega's hands in a silly little jig of a dance.
"And when the money, comes in for the work I do I'll pass almost every penny on to you"
"Hey hey!" Wrecker cheered, dropping the crate in the doorway, "A dance party!" and just like that he joined the happy fray.
Your eyes lit up upon seeing them, and if he'd thought you would stop, he was wrong.
"When I come home(When I come home), well I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you!"
Your dance turned into some jabbing motions, aimed at them to go along with the apt lyrics. Hunter was glad you didn't stop, with the delighted look on your face and the squeal of delight from Omega as Wrecker lifted her atop his shoulders, his soft smile was back tenfold.
"Well," Tech began, the smallest traces of amusement in his voice, "things are certainly lively with them around."
Lively indeed, because when the song's chorus picked up again, no one was safe from the infectious, joyous mood. Wrecker lunged forward, leaving Omega to grab hold of both Tech and Echo and drag them to the proverbial dance floor.
In turn, Hunter felt a warm hand grab his, and you pulled him into a bouncing dance that would have been right at home around a bonfire.
His face felt a little hot despite himself, but he looked down at you, a fondness in his eye he didn't even know he was capable of as you sang along with the song.
"When I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the one who's lonely without you"
Hunter couldn't help himself, he tuned out the actual song, focusing wholly on your voice as it wrapped around the words. And, for just a little while, Hunter imagined that you were singing them to him and him alone.
"And when I'm dreaming, well I know I'm gonna dream I'm gonna Dream about the time when I'm with you"
Maybe someday you would sing for him, but for now, he was content with this.
"When I go out, well I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the one who goes along with you"
He took a chance, and pulled you in just a little closer as he tried to keep up with your silly dance.
"And when I come home, yes I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the one who comes back home with you"
Yeah, he was more than content with this, for now.
"I'm gonna be the man who's coming home with you"

Okay, here's the thing, I feel so bad for TBOBF in a lot of ways.
Cuz parts of it (albeit very short parts) are just Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen wandering around doing hot girl shit, or Boba hanging out with his adoptive Sand People family, or Cobb Vanth just showing up and flirting with anything that moves...But in a lot of ways, the show suffers from A) Being a backdoor pilot for Mando s3 which had already been confirmed which takes over the last 3 episodes out of nowhere and feels really shitty as they cast Boba aside in his own show and B) The show seems uncomfortable with it's own premise in a lot of ways. It falls into the trap that "protagonist = morally and ethically perfection" instead of just letting Boba be a crime boss? Like, sure he doesn't have to be as cruel as the Hutts, and he doesn't have to be okay with the Pikes moving in on his territory, but in the end...He's too nice to be a believable threat to anyone. (And in a lot of situations...is just bad at his job, or ill prepared for what he has to do.)
Which is a shame, because there could have been a really compelling story about Boba taking over Tatooine's mob scene, ruling it with an iron fist, while managing to win the love of the people. Hell, have a whole arc about him outlawing still totally legal Tatooine slavery and fighting all the people who would oppose people being free. But instead they just have him turn into this dude who shows up, not really kick as much ass. He was far scarier when he showed up in Mando s2 and beat the crap out of those stormtroopers then he ever was in a show meant to be about him.
Sorry this got long and rambly, I just...I feel like the bs robo-Luke stuff in TBOBF is only the tip of the iceberg. The urge to write an academic paper on the subject is strong.
WRITE THAT ACADEMIC PAPER YOU ICON!!!!!!! but also wtf that's so shit. i've heard from a couple ppl that they were rlly on the right track w some boba scenes so it sucks ass they didn't just. have the confidence to continue that and also TRYING TO MAKE BOBA FETT A MORALLY PURE GOOD GUY??????? DO. DO THEY KNOW WHO BOBA FETT IS??? DIDN'T HE BLOW UP A VENATOR WITH CHILDREN ABOARD??? HE WAS A BOUNTY HUNTER!!!! that is the biggest nuanced morality fail i've heard of in my life

Updated Canon Star Wars Shows Ranking
The Bad Batch's third and final season begins tomorrow! What better time to take stock of how the series is currently stacking up against the nine other canon series' in the Star Wars sag.
(As always, please feel free to sound off in the replies or reblogs with how wrong I am. I love hearing your thoughts.)
10. Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett
Tumblr media
Oscillating between dull and distracted, the original iconic bucket headed bounty hunter’s show displays Star Wars at its most shallow and routine. Despite claiming to be a Godfather-esque crime saga, The Book of Boba Fett feels oddly toothless and impersonal. In the process, the series does the ultimate disservice of making its title character less interesting at its conclusion than its outset. A great leading duo in Temuera Morrison and Ming-na Wen can’t really save a series that rarely if ever rises above being passable.
9. Star Wars Resistance
Tumblr media
A fun, atypical series that aims for a younger audience with a lighter, more comedic tone. Some fans may not gel with its sometimes zany energy, but it boasts some impressively nuanced character arcs and standout aerial combat set pieces. It ends though on an awkward rushed note that may be as much a fault of the shambling structure of the sequel trilogy as the show itself.
8. Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Tumblr media
Ewan McGregor’s big return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi somehow feels like less than the sum of its parts. McGregor is wonderful as the title character and there are some truly emotional moments to be found in watching this old Jedi Master find his purpose and make peace with the trauma that came with the end of the Clone Wars, but overall Kenobi rarely manages to hit the highs it should. Messy production design and some clunky mid-season narrative choices end up cutting the series down in moments when the drama should be at its highest. For a series that may have been the most demanded Star Wars project of the last decade, Obi-Wan Kenobi never manages to fully reach the hype of its fanbase or the potential of its character.
7. Star Wars The Mandalorian
Tumblr media
After an uneven but mostly promising first season, The Mandalorian has had trouble finding its footing. Despite being the flagship series for not only Star Wars live action television but also the Disney+ streaming platform, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s space western has seemed unsure of itself after two seasons that pushed back its main characters in favor of a parade of cameos and clunky franchise focused world building. Luckily, it still has an eye for spectacle and flash. The Mandalorian looks like a blockbuster action-adventure movie and even when the story fails to live up to its potential, you can still count on the series’ consistently strong directing talent to deliver on some fantastic moments of Star Wars spectacle and creatively designed characters and locales.
6. Star Wars Ahsoka
Tumblr media
One of the most ambitious and complicated offerings from Star Wars’ live action television offerings, Ahsoka is the culmination of not only fifteen years of storytelling but an important evolution of both its central character and her creator, Dave Filoni. Unfortunately, it does frequently buckle under the weight of its own mythology and continuity. Trying to create a coherent identity out of a show that functionally serves as a spin off to three separate series, two of which are animated, often proves difficult and clunky. There are, however, moments of wonder and grandeur when Ahsoka really does shine. Whether its in the phenomenal performance of Ray Stevenson as the series’ enigmatic villain, Baylan Skoll, or how enthusiastically Ahsoka embraces the franchise’s more fantastical and weird story elements, Dave Filoni demonstrates that he does still have a sense for how to tell worthy stories in this galaxy.
5. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi
Tumblr media
Recently confirmed to be more than a one-time special set of animated short films, Tales of the Jedi now looks to be a regular animated anthology that fleshes out the unexplored angles of some of the most famous members of the Order. While the three installments focusing on Ahsoka offer little more than a reunion for fans of The Clone Wars, the miniature trilogy that Tales of the Jedi tells about the fall of Count Dooku to the Dark Side are masterfully written and directed editions to the animated Star Wars canon. Not only do they finally add emotional and philosophical clarity to one of the most famous villains from the Prequel Trilogy, but they provide a murky exploration into some of the Jedi Order’s failings and why exactly members of its ranks would be tempted to leave it behind.
4. Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Tumblr media
While it suffers from some of the same pacing issues that abound in almost all Star Wars television, The Bad Batch has evolved into a fun ensemble action series with some truly stellar character moments scattered throughout. In particular, this Clone Wars spinoff excels in diving into the uncertain fate of the Grand Army of the Republic. At its core is the question of what happens to a people bred for wartime when that wartime ends? The results are often tragic and occasionally disturbing, but almost always make for standout television. Throw in some gripping action set pieces and you have a more than worthy follow up to one of the most beloved pieces of Star Wars canon.
3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Tumblr media
A very rough start and scattered snooze worthy story arcs aside, The Clone Wars is an ambitious as hell show that pretty much launched Star Wars as we currently know it. Its anthology style format allowed for its creators to tell a wide variety of stories that not only deepened a previously maligned era of the series but also played tribute to many of George Lucas’s creative influences. Great swing for the fences storytelling risks and gorgeous animation elevate this series into blockbuster level entertainment that balances incredible spectacle with powerful moments of character development and franchise redefining mythology.
2. Star Wars Rebels
Tumblr media
A wonderful achievement in character and inventive storytelling, Star Wars Rebels reaches heights that are among the best moments the franchise has ever produced. Through its endearing and refreshingly complex ensemble cast and a tight four-season arc, Rebels feels like a complete, unique package that isn’t afraid to take risks and knows when and how to challenge its audience. Even occasional filler episodes aren’t enough to detract from what is overall a charming, suspenseful, and ultimately moving series of family and the fight against tyranny.
1. Star Wars Andor
Tumblr media
Star Wars at its most human and political, Andor is thoughtful and meticulously crafted drama about the early days of a rebellion. Taking its title character from the ashes of Rogue One and spinning off into the story of a complicated man living in the shadow of fascism, Andor offers up intrigue, emotion, and a stirring critique of systems of oppression whether they be from the galaxy far, far away or own humble little world. Even outside of its heady political allegory, Andor is simply fantastically directed and acted television scattering a marathon of all-time-classic Star Wars moments throughout its first season. It’s that rare gem that only seems to come around only once or twice a decade: Star Wars that is not only great within the context of its universe but a truly essential work of pop cultural art.

So, I saw my brother made a ship request for The Bad Batch (this is my first time doing one, so I'm a bit nervous), and I decided to do one, too. So, I'm 5'6 with blue eyes and blonde hair in a ponytail. I love reading, and making art and writing. I love fantasy and science-fiction stuff. I love having shirts that the sleeves go over my fingers, and I'm autistic. I hyperfixate ALOT (especially with Star Wars, specifically The Bad Batch) and I have three cats. Can't wait to see the results! ^^
(also requested SFW, and specified cisgender straight female)
I'm glad to be your first ship request facilitator (if that's what it is... idk). Also, tell your cats I say hi!
I ship you with...
Tech!
Tumblr media
Tech is a very logic-oriented person. His mind is very organized, and does very well with structure. On the other hand, art is something he's never really understood, tried or, frankly, even liked. That changed when he met you. When he saw not only your art, but the way you interact with it, he became mesmerized. He wanted to know all about your creative process, and asks how he can be helpful. Tech loves getting you new supplies and doing research on which brands/types of supplies work best with your art styles. When you make a piece of art inspired by him, Tech doesn't have much of an outward reaction, but inside, he's bursting with emotion. He doesn't really understand what emotions he's feeling, but he is beyond grateful that you love him so much to put your time and energy into making something about him.
When growing up on Kamino, Tech and his brothers didn't have access to stories, especially not fantasy stories, so he was fascinated when you introduced him to the fantasy genre. It's well known that Tech ingests information about as well as Wrecker ingests food, so when you hand him one of your favorite fantasy novels, he becomes engrossed in it. Sometimes when he's reading, you'll hear him mutter to himself about what he thinks the characters' thought processes are in order to predict what they might do next, and it can be quite entertaining to listen to.
When Tech finds out you like to hyperfixate on The Bad Batch, he's initially a bit confused, partly because he had no idea that their stories were told here. He asks to watch the series, which you happily pull up. The two of you end up binge-watching the series in less than a week, and you love every second of it. Tech is a bit miffed that the animators don't accurately portray how he and his brothers look, but he keeps his remarks to a minimum while the show is actually playing. However, Tech does like to provide commentary about how certain events actually played out, as well as discussing his own thought processes from while he was in the moment. Ultimately, he's happy that you wanted to share one of your favorite fixations with him, because to him, sharing in one's obsessions is one of the best love languages.
-
Thanks for reading! If you want a ship request like this one, drop it in my ask box, and don't forget to reblog <3 it may take a little bit, but I'll get to it eventually!
Also, I haven't seen anything about #unwhitewashtbb recently, but on my page we support Temuera Morrison-accurate clone protrayals

If it's possible to ask multiple questions for the 'choose violence ask game' : 3, 7, 15, 19 and 22 please
Choose violence ask game:
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
I think so far the worst was when THPG decided to argue that the point of the Prequels was that the corporations were the victims of the Republic. It's definitely the most UNIQUELY bad take and probably one of the ones that understands Star Wars the least.
The ones that could be argued to be worse just because of how prevalent they are in fandom are the typical takes of the Jedi "taking Anakin from his mother" or abusing him or that they "needed to fall" etc etc.
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Anakin, tbh. I wouldn't say I had particularly STRONG feelings on Anakin back when I was a casual fan, but I definitely felt positively about him. I honestly really liked finding sweet fics with Obi-Wan & Anakin during Anakin's Padawan years, and I liked plenty of fics where Anakin got to have his cake and eat it too by showing the Order you CAN be a Jedi and be married.
And then I started actually looking for more Star Wars content online and ended up coming upon posts where people were discussing what Lucas actually intended to say about the Jedi, the Buddhist roots of their philosophy, etc. and the more I interacted with that kind of content, the harder it was to LIKE Anakin and that's when his fans started to turn me off of him. It was a slow turn from "oh Anakin's totally fine and the Jedi are wrong" to "actually Anakin's probably the one who's wrong but he just needs a lil help" to "wow fuck this bitch."
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time
So the obvious thing is whitewashed clones, that's the serious answer. Hate when clones don't seem to look much at all like Temuera Morrison and it doesn't seem like there was a lot of effort towards that end.
My less serious answer is one I think is sitting in the queue somewhere, but it's Anakin with the twins as this like happy cutesy thing. There's absolutely nothing WRONG with the concept or the art at all, no actual objectionable content, it just doesn't work for me anymore. I can't see a happy future for Anakin with the twins and the one and only thought that comes into my head when I see it is "oh god get them out of there." No shade towards artists who do make those pieces or the people who like it, it just isn't my cup of tea.
19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...
Padme sometimes I guess? Like she's not written WELL and the things she does have completely turned me off of other characters, but that childhood nostalgia hits HARD.
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
That the Jedi are the good guys and Anakin's a villain. Obviously not everyone ignores this, but I still wish more people remembered it.

If I may ask : 1, 2, 9, 10 and 13 for the choose violence game
Choose Violence Ask Game
Obligatory Disclaimer: These are just my personal opinions, feel free to disagree but if you're gonna be hateful, rude, or anti-Jedi then just block me and move on instead of posting your bullshit on my page. Like what you like, hate what you hate, but leave me out of it.
Oh you can absolutely ask!
1 - The character everyone gets wrong...
Padme Amidala---I can explain this, but if I do then it's gonna be one of my long ass essay posts.
2 - A compelling argument for why your fav would never top/bottom...
Ok, this isn't necessarily an answer to the question, but my fav is Obi-Wan and I HC that he's a switch. So instead of getting an argument on whether he'd top or bottom, you're getting an argument on what type of partner he is.
No one can convince me that Obi-Wan is not a service top/bottom, no matter which one he is. Obi-Wan cares a lot about the people he loves and wants to help them/do things for them. So it makes sense to me that when he's sleeping with someone his own enjoyment isn't the point, he wants to make his partner feel good and have a good time, even if he won't necessarily derive any pleasure from it himself. Making his partner feel good is the point.
9 - Worst part of canon...
The whitewashing of the clones in the animated shows!
Like dear god, make them actually look like Temuera Morrison!
If they can animate all sorts of weird alien designs, they can animate POC characters.
AND THEY'RE FUCKING CLONES FFS, IT'S NOT LIKE THEY'D HAVE TO MAKE A MILLION NEW DESIGNS, JUST ONE NEW DESIGN THAT THEY REPLICATE AND TWEAK AS NECESSARY!
10 - Worst part of fanon...
I know I've said the anti-Jedi stuff a million times, so I'm gonna pick a kind-of different answer to try and keep things interesting.
I really hate the fanon version of Mandalorians where people basically just glorify their violence, take a bunch of stuff from the Jedi and apply it to them, ignore literally anything bad about them, and then lift them up as this "amazing utopian group of equality, equity, and good will" when...that's not really what they are. Especially when people do it to bash the Jedi.
13 - Worst blorboification...
I'll give you guys three guesses, and the first two don't count.
(It's Anakin, I know, I'm predictable)

With the release of AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM, the DCEU has officially ended.
You could never make me hate you.
Tumblr media
AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM THOUGHTS. MORE SPOILERS THAN FISH IN THE SEA.
Tumblr media
THE GOOD
-Loved the humour of it. The DCEU has been so serious and I find myself loving the lighter ones like WONDER WOMAN 2, the SHAZAM films and THE FLASH. Plus, Jason Momoa is better equipped for comedy/action, than drama. Meanwhile, Patrick Wilson excels at both! How great is he in this?!
Tumblr media
Wilson was just so game. The cockroach scenes (scenes because there is a mid-credit call-back) would have been downright dumb if it was played by someone less committed than Wilson.
And the humour in their interactions weren't clunky because this is Arthur having the brother experience that he never had. It ties back to his father Tom (Temuera Morrison) saying Junior should have a sibling and how he wished Arthur had one. Now we see it played out, complete with the older sibling bullying (convincing Orm to eat a cockroach by saying it's the shrimp of the land. Which is priceless because people call shrimp the cockroaches of the seas).
-As soon as Kordax said his darkest night had ended, I knew what was going on.
Blackest Night!!!!!
Tumblr media
Yes, the core story was vastly different but this was the their nod to it.
-People living under the sea should stoke the imagination so I'm happy they finally made the civilization under the sea so lively instead of us just watching Atlantean council meetings. Give us the nightlife!
THE BAD
-I don't think we got enough time with Black Manta.
Tumblr media
It honestly felt like Randall Park's Stephen Shin had more screen-time.
Stephen who is obviously Jimmy Woo's identical twin cousin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the film should have gone deeper into David Kane's slip into madness due to the trident with more of his "Gollum" scenes where we can see how Kordax is spurring him on.
But at least they gave Black Manta a great death. I was just waiting for Arthur to grab him and Black Manta still fall to his death. But it's so fitting that David wouldn't dare let the man who killed his father (a man who doesn't even feel bad about it) save him. True standing on business! Or falling... Falling on business.
-The water effects are horrible. I think it likely looks better in 3D but in standard - hazy, uncanny valley.
THE REST
-Pilou Asbaek plays Kordax and I find it fitting that my wretched sh!tty despot uncle of the Iron Islands plays a power hungry Atlantean.
Tumblr media
-I was the only person to laugh at the Topo line spoken by Atlanna (Nicole Kidman).
Return of the King.
Tumblr media
And Storm!
Tumblr media
-Though in the SnyderCut we get Martian Manhunter, thus fulfilling the motto of Unite the Seven
Tumblr media
in this film we get another united seven - the seven kingdoms of Atlantis which includes the titular lost kingdom.
-Felt like James Wan did a fair bit of nods. We get Orn living above ground at an outdoor restaurant a'la Bruce's retired life in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Arthur and Orn's team-up is like Thor and Loki's in THOR: RAGNAROK. Arthur even calls Orn Loki before making a Harry Potter reference.
There's a shot of Black Manta sat in the navigation chair in his Black Manta gear casting the same type of demeanor as T'Challa in BLACK PANTHER. The ending with Arthur deciding to tell the world about Atlantis is straight cribbed from BLACK PANTHER and IRON MAN. Is this the cinematic version of someone losing a match and shaking the hand of their opponent?
