Yesterday the 12th of May was Fibromyalgia awareness day. I'm a little late uploading it, but spreading awareness is being done nonetheless. Lots of love for my chronic pain people!! <3

when you have something like fibromyalgia and you tell people how you're in extreme pain 24/7, the only reply you get is "me too lol" like bro 24/7 unbearable pain that would easily put people in hospital is not "me too lol" i can guarantee you it is not the same as your occasional aches and pains (this doesn't mean they are less valid)

Some rough comic panels about chronic pain.
Becoming physically disabled in my early twenties has opened my eyes to deep rooted ableism and the awful benefits processes in my country. Its been hard, and stressful and there's been many times I've wanted it all to go away: my body hurts, all the time. That changes you! how you live your live, how you cope with tiny things, it affects my physical and mental wellbeing. It's harder, yes. But i deserve to live with dignity and compassion. My life should not be worth any less than an abled-bodied one. And I have pride, because everywhere seems to tell me i shouldn't, and that's a good enough reason as any.
Yeah do I wish i wasn't in pain? sure, but i am. Don't feel sorry for me: support the disabled folks in your life and look out for us.

What is fibromyalgia (did i spell that right?) And why do you think tim and cass have it?
im actually so happy someone asked this! Fibromyalgia (you spelled it right!), commonly just called Fibro, is a chronic pain condition. It causes pain in 18 central points across the body, chronic fatigue, and brain fog. Many doctors think it is caused by traumatic events, stress, or depression. Though the root cause is unknown. It can can be mild with pain that is manageable, but flare ups often leave people bedridden. Or like me, a wheelchair user.
Tim's canon issued with falling asleep in odd places scream chronic fatigued to me. And I can just see him hiding chronic pain for years, not wanting to mention it. Ad someone with fibro so many thingsabout him, just screams that he has it as well. It's honestly hard to explain.
It's pretty similar with Cass. I see her as growing up with it and thinking consent pain was normal. Due to the way she was treated by her biological father. So she just got used to the pain, and bonded with Tim over it, and they got diagnosed around the same time.

A very late post for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, 12th of May.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues.
Many people who have fibromyalgia also have tension headaches, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression.

While today has been another great day on my holidayto France, the pain has been off the charts with every bone in my right foot and ankle feeling like they were broken. Sometimes it's my lower back, sometimes my shoulders, but often my hips, knees, and ankles.
When things are like this, I use crutches as it's impossible to put weight down with whatever foot or leg is in pain.
When I use crutches, it can be very hard to be independent.
For example, an inability to carry a glass of water to my seat, get in or out of a bathtub safely for a shower, or stand at a hob to make meals.
I can not allow myself to struggle as its exhausting and more painful. I have to ask for help, which, as many who know me will tell you, doesn't come easily or naturally to me.
Today my boyfriend has been getting me drinks and food, driving me less than 2 minutes down the road to the local restaurant we were eating at, helping me in and out of the bath, and reminding me to take my meds when the fibro fog has been at its worst. I hate to say it, but he's my carer. At 34 years old, I need someone to do the job I used to do for the elderly.
It's so difficult for me to depend on someone this way, but he's stepped up to a task he didn't even ask for, and does an amazing job. Even when I was married I didn't receive this level of respect and care.
Not all disabilities and illnesses are visible. I'm so glad I have someone like him to help me with mine when so many people struggle alone.

TWENTY TIPS FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED FIBROMYALGIA SUFFERERS...
If you have been newly diagnosed with Fibromyalgia here are a few tips to help you deal with the condition. 1. Never be afraid to ask for help, be it with the shopping, cooking or cleaning. As most sufferers tend to ‘look fine’ most people do not realise the pain they are suffering inside, so if you don’t ask you won’t get help. 2. If work is leaving you exhausted and in pain, then design a…

The Batfamily, and the majority of vigilantes are disabled in at least one way. That fight to protect their city's and the planet, sometimes the universe. No one gets away from that unmarred physically or mentally.
Bruce Wayne, has bad knees it ran in his family to begin with, but they got bad fighting crime. Now he supports metal ones, and has a cane that he normally refuses to touch.
Tim, and Cass are fibromyalgia buddies. Understanding that they're both in constant pain, all over. It's trauma based but neither of them can pin point when theirs started. Just that Cass can hardly remember a time before pain, and it started for Tim during that weird time period where everyone he cared about was dropping dead. Tim also has no spleen, and whenever he gets fibro flares up there's panic.
Steph has POTs, she keeps a salt shaker in her utility belt. Sometimes Spoiler can be spotted with purple forearm crutches. In daily life she uses a cane, a plain purple one cover in doodles and stickers. Damian keeps handing her pamphlets about service dogs.
Barbara Gordon is paralyzed from the waist down (not a hc lol), and had to adjust to life without her legs. She has the coolest sleek low back wheelchair, and a whole drawer full of colorful wheelchair gloves.

Having disabilities and mental issues has stolen my childhood. I was deprived of the precious and happy things that would have helped to positively shape my development.
I just wanted a chance to exist and be happy.
I'm struggling to exist in a body that keeps wanting to stop.
I feel like I'm losing.

🌟 Sharing My Journey: Living with Fibromyalgia 🌟
👋 Hey there, lovely people!
Today, I want to share a part of my life that I haven't talked much about until now. It's a journey that began unexpectedly, one that I've been navigating with resilience and positivity.
Several years ago, I was involved in a car accident that left me with serious injuries. These injuries, while they've healed to some extent, have also left me with a condition known as fibromyalgia. It's something that has become a significant part of my daily life.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder characterized by widespread pain, fatigue, and a variety of other symptoms. While it's been a challenging road, it's also been a path of growth and self-discovery. I've learned so much about strength, resilience, and the importance of self-care.
I want to reassure you all that I will continue to share the creative content I'm passionate about, from print on demand, graphic design, photography and art. Fibromyalgia is just one facet of my life, and it won't overshadow my love for creativity.
Thank you for being a part of my journey, and for your continued support, plus for allowing me to be vulnerable in sharing this with you.
If you have any questions or if you've had experiences with fibromyalgia, I'd love to hear from you in the comments. Let's continue to learn from each other and grow together.

Happy National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day!
National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day was established in 1992 and is observed on May 12 each year. The purpose of this ‘holiday’ is to raise awareness for a chronic condition affecting well over 10 million people in the US alone. If you’re like most folks you might be asking, “What is Fibromyalgia?” and “Why is Fibromyalgia awareness important?” Let’s take a moment today to look at this condition…
