I am preparing for a competitive exam and I can’t put myself to even shower daily forget about studying daily. I was seeking therapy and then we decided that I can cope on my own but I’m still on meds(mood stabiliser and got off antidepressants few months ago). I was diagnosed with depression last year and I seeked therapy for about a year. Now I’m off therapy and I have trouble doing things and starting things, I fall asleep way easily during my online lectures and because I’m not so productive I beat myself up over it and tell myself that I’ll start all over again tomorrow … with a new timetable and what not and then I don’t follow it. I procrastinate all day and then I still go to bed tired and sleepy. I also have trouble eating all my meds.
I want to do well in my competitive exam and get into a good college but I am overwhelmed with the number of exams I’ll have to give and the number of admission forms I have to fill. And my dad who used to help me with all this now doesn’t help with admission forms saying “I have grown old you deal with it” 😭😭
I have been binge watching phineas and ferb because that makes me go haha lol.
Do you think I need to go back to therapy? Also, how should I tackle procrastination and not fall into loop of sleeping all day and not doing the basic chores even like showering daily. Also, I have an upcoming appointment with a psychiatrist should I tell him all of this?
This is my first ask, I hope you respond as soon as possible. Thank you!
Hey there,
Firstly, I am glad that you have an upcoming appointment with a psychiatrist. This is a really positive step and if you are able to, I would encourage you to share as much with them as you can in regards to how you are currently feeling and coping with things. i.e. struggling to do everyday things like showering for example. I am also not a qualified medical professional but it sounds as though maybe restarting anti-depressants may also be considered by your psychiatrist and especially if they were helpful when you were last on them. Sometimes people can be on AD’s for a good few years or even for longer until they find the relevant coping strategies to enable them to do everyday things, and sometimes people may need to be on a medication for life as they may have a chemical imbalance that they need a psych med to help balance things out which I am thinking is partly why you are still on your mood stabiliser but right now you may be needing something extra or a higher dosage to help you through – I am by no means a doctor though so don’t quote me on this!
Studying for any type of exam can be really stressful and overwhelming for anyone, so it’s only natural that you are finding things quite tough right now and are finding even the little things hard to do. Have you ever thought of writing out a list of daily things you need to get done/ do each day and once completing these things crossing them off the list? I know that for me this helps me to get back into a routine and especially when I get to see the list getting smaller and smaller with each task I achieve. Just an idea! Doing this may also be more helpful than a simple timetable as well due to looking as a timetable can seem quite overwhelming and especially when you are already finding things difficult. Trying to get yourself into a bit of a routine (even if you only do one or two things a day to get started) can also help you to stay awake and then help you to get a better sleep at nights, so this is also something else to consider!
In regards to filling out admission forms, one thing I find helpful again for myself is to just focus on filling out or answering one or two questions each day. If you break the forms up and only focus on a section at a time then it may seem more achievable if that makes sense and this too can be part of your routine and especially if you have a bit to fill out/ answer.
For the time being starting therapy again may also be helpful for you and especially in this really stressful period. Even if you just use the sessions to vent or offload what’s on your mind. This may make it a bit easier for you to then refocus your attention on your studies and upcoming exams as you may find you are not worrying so much on other life stressors if that makes sense. And remember that it’s more than OK to ask and reach out for help and support again, it doesn’t mean you have gone backwards in your recovery, just that you need an extra helping hand and by asking for help, it actually shows your strength in knowing and being able to acknowledge when you are needing some extra support. And like your upcoming psychiatrist appointment, this too is a big positive if you are feeling that therapy would be beneficial for you to restart!
I really hope that this has helped a bit and please do let us know if we can help to support you in any other way!
I’m thinking of you, hope that you are going well and wish you all the best with your exams!
Take care,
Lauren

Some things about Allan:
He’s the only one who reacts to the narrator
He’s the only doll (besides the Weird House) who isn’t swayed in some way by Ken’s takeover
He also declares himself as “Ken's buddy" (making canon his official box description) which makes his inability to be swayed more interesting
He has bendable legs (probably the only reason he tries to jump the fence instead of going around like everyone else)
He easily decked a half-dozen construction Kens and could probably singlehandedly win the Ken fight
He seems to know more about the real world than most Barbies
He knows what NSYNC is
He knows about other Allan copies living in the real world (I’m trying to figure out if he made this up to convince the humans he can live in the real world, but even if he did, how does he know what NSYNC is???)
There are no other Allan models

There's this phenomenon on social media, especially TikTok, where someone will post a cute video of their pet doing something totally harmless, and someone will invariably chime in the comments with some piece of unsolicited advice which may or may not even be relevant, and it bugs me a lot! Offering someone unsolicited pet-care advice (or child-rearing advice, for that matter) is actually really rude, especially if you're not a vet and you're doing it in that way that seems calculated to show off that you know more than them rather than being genuinely helpful. Like, the latest version I saw of this was somebody's cat chasing a laser pointer quite happily, and someone in the comments saying "make sure you play with them using other toys, too! It's better enrichment!" Like, boss, you saw one video of somebody playing with their cat and couldn't help but extrapolate from that that they might be doing something wrong in general, and therefore that you just had to correct them? Go jump in a lake.
This is one of those things that I think we would instinctually recognize as kind of deranged if you did it face-to-face--if you were playing with your dog in the park and someone came up to you and was like, "actually, you shouldn't be doing that, you should be doing this instead," you would be well within your rights to tell them to fuck off, no matter how much they tried to defensively frame their intrusion as "just trying to help." But the faux familiarity of social media and the anonymity of random commenters reduces the social friction there, and the urge of the know-it-all to show that they indeed do know it all is unleashed.
But here's your modern etiquette tip for the day: knock that shit off! It's really fucking rude!

that shitty thing some people do where they compliment something about you, only to take it back and reveal that it was meant to be a joke at your expense when you sincerely thank them for it, used to bother me until i realised that you can just. keep it. refuse to hand that power back to them. they are never prepared to deal with this.

Do you ever feel like SHIT? Like life is moving so fast, and you’re stuck, tired, or completely drained? cuz same 🙋🏻‍♀️. That’s why I started looking into Japanese and Chinese habits—because I'm searching for slow down type of lifestyle, finding balance, and creating small moments of peace in the dawm chaos. Now, I know some of y’all will say, 'It’s overrated, you’re just obsessed with China or Japan,' but hear me out these habits aren’t about trends—they’re rooted in centuries and they’ve genuinely helped me improve both physically and mentally. If you’re ready to stop just surviving and start thriving, keep reading. These little changes might just change your life too.
Little Habits, Big Glow: Japanese & Chinese Traditions That Changed My Life
First off, warm water in the MORNING. I used to roll out of bed and go straight for coffee or cold ass water cuz my throat is DRYYYY , and honestly, my body hated me for it fr. But then I read about how in Chinese medicine, drinking warm water first thing in the morning is seen as a way to wake up your body gently. And let me tell you, IT WORK. No bloating, no sluggishness—just a simple, calming way to start the day. Sometimes I add a slice of lemon, and it feels like I’m doing something kind for my body before I even check my phone
Two Ikigai.( I talked Abt Ikigai and how to achieve this concept click here!) Japanese concept changed the way I see my day-to-day life. It’s basically finding purpose in the little things—like, not waiting for some huge life-changing moment to feel fulfilled. I used to put so much pressure on myself, thinking I needed to achieve these massive goals to be happy. But Ikigai taught me to slow down and find joy in small things, like enjoying my morning tea or journaling. It’s a game-changer for anyone who feels like they’re always chasing something bigger.
Another thing I’ve started doing is Tai Chi or qing gong. I know I know—it looks slow and kind of boring, but hear me out. It’s like moving meditation, and if you’re someone who struggles with anxiety (like meeey), this will center you like nothing else. It’s not about burning calories or anything like that; it’s about connecting your body and mind in the most peaceful way. Even just 10 minutes a day leaves me feeling lighter and more focused. (Click here to watch a video of it) When I first started, I thought, 'This is way too slow for me.' But then something clicked. The slowness is the point. It forces you to focus on your breathing, your posture, and every little movement. It’s like a moving meditation that clears your mind while strengthening your body.

hello! i’ve been struggling with feelings of worthlessness, helplessness, dejection, suicidality, and i’m completely unmotivated. the thing is i currently take medication for these issues and i have been doing so for about a year. i take prozac 10mg everyday at a consistent time, and i’ve still found no way around how i’ve been feeling for around two months now. i use to go to therapy but i feel like my therapist low key ghosted me and i haven’t heard from her since the end of last december. i don’t know what to do with myself anymore. i feel utterly disappointed and dissatisfied with myself and i truly feel as if i don’t deserve anything in life. i feel so unwanted in this world, as if everyone’s life would’ve been better if i hadn’t been born. i think i might reach out to a new therapist or get on some new prescriptions but i just don’t know what to do with myself anymore. how are we supposed to live in this world filled with superficial friends and unforgiving competition, because i truly don’t know anymore.
Hey there,
Whilst being on medication can be really helpful, it sounds as though what you are currently on is not being of much use to you and so I would definitely encourage you to go back to your prescribing doctor and ask for a medication review. It may be something as simple as adjusting your dosage, adding another medication to the mix or changing medications all together. I know that changing medications can seem daunting but please me patient if your doctor wants to change your medication as there are a lot out there and it can be at times trial and error to find the best one for you and the right dosage that really helps you and how you are feeling overall.
Seeking therapy again also sounds like a great idea but again I know how difficult it may be due to the fact that your last therapist lost contact with you for whatever reason. If you can though, try to see a different therapist but again be mindful that all therapists work in different ways and so like medication, different therapists work for different people if that makes sense.
In regards to feeling as though you have little to no motivation and are feeling completely dissatisfied with your life, could you try to focus on the positives in your life? So for example, even if it’s something really small, the good things that may make you smile make you happy, even if it’s just for a spilt second. These moments, no matter how small they are can really have an impact on your overall mental health in a positive way and especially if you remind yourself of them on a regular basis. Doing something small each day can also be helpful, even if you have to force yourself to do it. Routine is also of upmost importance, so doing things such as getting dressed, doing some chores or other things you need to do each day and getting yourself out of the house can be really helpful to put yourself in a better headspace. I know that this doesn’t and will not come easily though but with time and practice it will become easier, it’s just something you have to work towards and just trying to take each day as they come.
I really hope that these things have helped a bit and please do let us know if we can help to support you in any way!
I’m thinking of you and hope that you are going well!
Take care,
Lauren

How to: Become a better version of yourself.
Hi angels! Today, we'll be covering the topic of becoming that vision of ourselves, the best ever. Let's dive right in!
Follow accounts that inspire: Especially people who seem so into what they're doing, not just being "influencers". When scrolling, don't follow a person just because you liked one video of them. Instead, go to their account, check their posts and if they're relatable to any of your goals, follow them! Be mindful.
Vision Boards!: Personally, I make one for each month. They mainly consist of academic, health goals, and quotes (for me). I love to check them whenever I'm feeling unmotivated and after each month, I check them once again to see what I achieved and what I could have done better.
Write down your goals: Will you forget about it? Well, maybe. Is it worth it though? Definitely. You'll have your own guide to refer to once you remember it exists. Categorize your goals, make them seasonal, whatever you feel is best for you.
Affirmations: Each morning, I tell myself that I'm beautiful, smart and worth a million. You have to believe it. We always tell others these words that we forget we need to hear them, too.
Baby steps: Workout at home if you can't afford a gym membership until you can, for example. Find an alternative for anything you want to do but can't afford/isn't available. Don't just give up because you don't have money, that's an excuse.
Have a well-structured routine: Build your own routine and write it down. Think of what you're doing wrong and work on it by replacing it with another healthy habit.
Think of who you'll be if you start now: Visualize your life once you're "that" person you've been dreaming of. How will that feel? How will you look, talk, and walk like? And what kind of life do you prefer?
Love yourself enough: The amount of self-respect you've got to have in order to do all this for yourself is insane. You have to believe that you deserve a better life, a healthy and functioning body, a nice degree. Think of how people will perceive you, but most importantly think of how YOU will perceive yourself.
Alright that's it for now babes! Hope you have a good night or morning. Much love, angel.

OP: What is the one thing that broke your mind when the Americans came in? Let's talk about it and see if it's different.
Cnetizens and tiktok imigrants begin to exchange facts mainly in clothing, food, housing, transportation, and people's livelihood. They realized that things were very different from what they had heard before. So they call it 对账单dui zhang dan, lit. checking accounting items with eachother (a chinese accounting term). XHS has a trending tag 中美对账 (chinese and americans check account), if you click in it, you'll see a lot of posts both by cnetizens and tt imigrants. And most cnetizens are shocked by what americans told them, and vice versa.
video translation cr 阿美莉真卡
Cnetizens comments
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some Cnetizens don't believe it and feel that the Americans in the video are trolling, these Cnetizens say that when they were studying and working in the US, they saw many Americans were doing very well, living in nice apartments or neighborhoods with villas. Other Americans tell them that it's because either these people's parents are just rich, or they became upper middle class by working hard. They explained to cnetizens that the state runs on debt and loans. If you get a great job at a big company, then you can work for a few years and pay off your loans all at once and your quality of life leaps and bounds, and a lot of people have succeeded that way, so there will be people who keep trying. But if you lose your job, can't afford to pay those taxes that last a lifetime, deplete your savings, and can't pay off your debt, you're likely to lose your house and become homeless.
And then this is how Cnetizens comforted Americans

I love having nieces and nephews under the age of four. Family dinner used to start at 6 p.m., and I'd be there until 9 or 10 p.m.
Now dinner is at 4 p.m. sharp, and everyone has to leave by 7 p.m. MAX to avoid disrupting bedtime, and my chronically ill, fatigued ass is like, say no more. I'm gone. I'm back in my bed by 8 with my dog and my safe foods and something quiet on the tv so I can recover.
Amazing. Incredible. No notes. Pass the potato chips and electrolytes.
