How can I goth up my look fast and easy?
Are there anymore cool droids like the navigator from the solo movie?
Whats the canon reason the clone troopers can't aim for shit?
Wtf is the Kessel run? I've heard mixed things about it and none of them have made sense
If warp drives are so compact why aren't there drive torpedoes? (visa vi new trilogy warp attack by that purple haired girl boss)
Whats the dumbest canon things? (In the vein of coke being a real drink)
More black, scowl, and add skulls or spikes.
There are lots of cool droids in Star Wars, but none quite like L3. Did you know that she started her life as a typical astromech, but she modified and upgraded herself the first opportunity she got. Immediately after, she became an expert on every legal case that had ever happened on droid rights. One of her nicknames is the name of a legends robot that traveled with Lando, who was masc. (Trans?) And after being uploaded to the falcon, she joined two other previously uploaded droids to form the millenium collective. A system of the three different personalities sharing control of the Falcon. (Plural Falcon confirmed)
I don't think there is an existing canon explanation. Though they are pretty accurate usually, but then sometimes they're not. (For plot reasons) I could argue that it's a side effect of the genetic tinkering they did to make the Jango genes more obedient and cooperative. Or maybe it's just that some clones are bad shots. There is a genetic variation among the modified clones so that they all come out a bit different. Usually, this doesn't matter, but about 3.5% of each batch had "unacceptable" variations. Before the Jedi became aware of the clones, they would have been terminated as failed products, but the Jedi saw life and made sure every clone had a place somewhere.
The Kessel run is a smugglers route for transporting drugs. You pick them up at kessel and travel the 20 parsec route to your destination. It isn't a straight line, though. Han cut a lot of corners to make it down to 12.
Hyperspace missiles?

Something as dumb as canon coke is really hard, but I'd say it's how they treat materials like paper, glass, and such. Glass had become a luxury good only used by the rich for aesthetic purposes. So Transparisteel is what you are almost certainly looking at when it looks like glass. Which is a completely clear metal alloy? Crazy right? Well, paper was a luxury good during the High Republic, and by the age of the Empire, it became almost unheard of. Almost completely replaced by digital formats. Though the rare instance you didn't want to use a datapad, you could use flimsiplast or durasheet. Two materials that are not paper even though they have almost all the qualities of paper. They do use plastic, though. We know this because they make coke bottles out of it.

Hello, I just wanted to ask if you will ever do a Sister event since I think it's very nice that she is canon and I really like the character.
Thanks for reading it 💖🙆🏼‍♀️
Thank you for such a lovely Ask 💖
Currently there is a Trans Clone Week that happens every year (hosted by @clonefandomevents), but a specific day or more love for Sister is always good!
The mods of this blog already have a few events cooking right now, so we aren't able to do it ourselves anytime soon- BUT! we would definitely be open to hosting an event in the new year (perhaps Spring 2025), if no one else hosts an event for her before then.
*an amendment: if anyone is looking for Sister merch, @sapphicsparkles makes stickers of her helmet 👀

So I know the books and EU aren’t considered canon (anymore), but in the book Star Wars: Brotherhood by Mike Chen we have a clone who is either:
A) a trans trooper 🏳️‍⚧️
B) a female clone beyond Omega
Tumblr media
I love it! Which do you think it could be?

[Clonetober 2022] Day 12 - the Path (running from the Empire).
Characters: CT-8035 | It (OC), CT-8024 | Macaron/Ster'aa Llil (OCs)(mentioned). Additional Tags: angst, hurt/kind of comfort, force-sensitive clone, trans clone trooper, they/them pronouns for It, they're a sad sad baby, but they're doing their best to help, nonbinary It. Content Warnings: Canon timeline, post Order 66, mention of canon characters death.
-
They couldn’t save them.
Not General Aayla, not Commander Bly, not Freckles or Pierre or Done or Macaron.
It doesn’t like to think about it. About the chip in their brain the Force squished and the lights fading around them and tearing them apart.
About the loss of their siblings, their mentor, and who could have been their Buire.
But It can still save people; they can still take children by the hand and lead them somewhere safer, where they wouldn’t have to feel the galaxy being destroyed around them.
(One day, they’ll lead one of those families to one of their contacts on Alderaan, and the door will open on a lavender Twi’lek with a cautious smile and a house full of toys and children’s laughter. One day, they’ll enter this home, and It will be face-to-face with Macaron after years thinking they'd lost him with Order 66.
But this will be one day. Now, It keeps walking through the Path, and lets the Force guide them to those who need saving.)

Okay.
E.K Johnston commissioned an artist to draw Sister, the first canon trans Clone Trooper.
In this artwork, Sister is drawn with cornrows.
Tumblr media
At this point, people (Disney specifically) are so fucking willfully ignorant of anything Polynesian. Sister is a Clone Trooper. Which means she’s based on Temuera Morrison. A Māori man.
Cornrows have racial and cultural significance in Black culture. They are specific to Black culture. They’re not Polynesian. They shouldn’t be worn by a Polynesian woman. Black and Polynesian are not interchangeable races. Each are specific and deserve recognition and respect. Using cultural elements interchangeably is disrespectful to both parties and it’s so hurtful.
it’s hurtful to Polynesian fans like myself, who just want representation, and it’s hurtful to Black fans because their cultural identity is constantly stolen as an aesthetic.
This is such bullshit and I’m so fucking sick of it.

If you shit on the trans clone trooper named ‘Sister’ because her name is Sister, you are an idiot. Just say you hate the concept of a trans trooper and go.
First of all there are troopers named things such as Glitch, Boil and Droidbait which are more on the stranger side of the spectrum. In Droidbait’s case his name falls more into the field of being descriptive, which in some ways is the same as in Sisters case. Let us also not forget the fan favourite named ‘Fives’…after his CT number. If your argument falls down to some flimsy argument of it being ‘boring’ or ‘uncreative’ or a bit too in your face. You are wrong and THAT LAST ONE IS LITERALLY THE WHOLE POINT.
She is a clone trooper, she is a clone. She has THOUSANDS of brothers that look like her, that share her face. She is distinguishing herself with her name. We also see in canon that people have trouble distinguishing the troopers from one another, or simply chose not to. If you are going to stand there genuinely and say to me that you dont see how that name is empowering or meaningful, your brain must get cold at night.
By naming herself Sister she is not only commandeering her identity but recognising her concept of self and making others recognise it too. In a sea of brothers she is their Sister, THAT is the point.
If you are not a trans person and you have a negative opinion of her name I simply do not care. If you have a negative opinion of that one fanart that circled a while back that was appropriating a hairstyle with braids then I understand that, and that is perfectly valid- but that is not what this post is about.

Okay so grian‘s backstory as I understand it I might not have all the information it has been a while since I’ve watched Sam gladiator but let’s do this it’s 12 o’clock I’m very tired.
So grians life that we see the start of, starts off with him being sent to Japan for elementary school where he is entered into school as female now we see him consistently state that he is not a girl now you can take this as trans or his parents being neglectful this is where he meets Sam the bunny hybrid and taurtis the human (I don’t think it is stated anywhere that he is a hybrid) No shenanigans insue and grian is pulled from school and take him back to England.
The next time we see him And sam gladiators yandere high school Series it’s a weekend and he’s coming to visit his friends for like the weekend it’s very normal they go on a beach day and then Grian goes back home
Grian then comes back for Halloween and this is where things start going crazy So buckle up buttercup they go around trick-or-treating with their friends from high school I’m not bothering to name everyone and at the end of the night they going to the “haunted school” Which is actually Haunted Sam goes crazy pull the knife out and stabs taurtis In the gut and then runs off into the night Grian manages to get taurtis onto a bus to take him to the hospital and they never make it the bus crashes and then someone calls 119 and they survive now taurtis is missing and is a John Doe but no one knows this and Sam has gone a bit cuckoo and is convinced that Grian is taurtis and has now basicallykidnapped him trying to gaslight him into believing that he is taurtis (Sidenote just for angst purposes Sam also force-fed Grian into eating Doritos cool ranch plastic bag included I hc that Grians has a eating disorder because of that) they find taurtis who has amnesia from the bus crash and is convinced his name is Jerry no matter what Grian says no one believes that Jerry is taurtis Sam somehow gets them in debt with the gang and then inducted into said gang They get in to witness protection which doesn’t last long and then they excepted into the police not the police academy into the police they are then given guns and told to arrest the yakuza that they were in Taurtis this memory is returned and Grian is finally able to leave swearing up and down to never talk to them ever again…. This does not last long
A bunch of things happened and they are moved to a new high school Sam Taurtis Grian and Domrao
In this timeframe in order , to the best of my memory, Because I do not feel like watching all of Tokyo ghoul sam gladiators role-play again
The roommates Somehow, taurtis gets cloned multiple times, Sam picks a fight with a store manager for not hiring him, The clones are turned into slaves and they have to free them, Somehow get a new teacher who is the chupaca, they fight storm troopers, they meet the “ Queen of England” who is really just Lizzie or LD shadow lady, They run from the cops (again), meet an alien, Get drafted by the government to kill the aliens, The terminator is there I forget what he’s for, Taurtis turns into one punch man for a bit, Then they summon Cthulhu, some more things happen that aren’t really necessary knowledge for Grian but the Important thing you need to know is that Sam makes a deal with Cthulhu to end his entire dimension existence except for his house and his three roommates.
From here this is head canon until We get to the point where grian starts uploading videos and I will tell you when we get there
Now my head canon is that Grian also makes a deal with Cthulhu to learn magic so we can make a portal into a Minecraft hub server and takes taurtis and Domrao with him leaving Sam behind (for the better really that boy was crazy)
Grian and gang getting away from Sam’s abusive clutches clutches now trying to figure out how to navigate the server hubs this is where Grian discovers his love for a building and starts playing build battle and where he first meets pearl he then goes on to work for a recording company building their sets until the company dissolves and he just goes back to freelancing until he saves enough up to buy his own creative world and starts posting tutorials and start building a little Community he starts playing built swap with Taurtis and some new friends that he made then he gets the idea to make Evo
I haven’t watched evo yet so I know the concept but I haven’t watched it so we’re basically out of headken and territory now
Things happen tortoise leaves the server but they’re still friends and they still talk green makes evil with pearl and a bunch of new friends that he made where he starts discovering how much he likes pranks and how chaotic he actually is the near the end of the server the watchers come and all of that stuff happens I don’t know the specifics of this time period
Blah blah blah he meets mumbo they get to know each other very well and then Xisuma on mumbo‘s recommendation gets invited to hermit craft
And the rest is history!
Grians life is so traumatic I love it so much
This isn’t very cohesive but it is almost 1 o’clock I spent an hour on this I will not be editing this
good night
~🐍
Wow. That is A LOT XD but thats pretty crazy. Some of that I went like OH thats where that came from! (from reading fanfics that like hint at that stuff) really cool! thank you so much! :D

Unashamedly posting this on a side because there's no pleasing fandom and I don't care to get dogpiled.
People have been jumping on author EK Johnston (@ekjohnston) for the art she recently commissioned of her character Sister, the first trans clone trooper in Star Wars canon. (!) Initially, the artist had drawn Sister with cornrows, and from what I can tell (I wasn't present for the original post and I'm going off what I've been able to hunt down) people asked for her hairstyle to be changed.
(I'm aware that EK Johnston would prefer this original art not be circulated, and I apologise for breaking that - but I feel like it's important for people reading this post to see the original for the sake of comparison.)
Johnston agreed that her hair should be changed, apologised, and worked with the artist to change Sister's hairstyle. The new version, which is still up and can be found here, depicts Sister with six braids that hang down over her shoulders.
Now, some Tumblr users had some pretty serious problems with this new version. Notably, in the post Johnston says, "it is not a Polynesian hairstyle, because: Star Wars", and I would argue that this is the post's only real mishap. First of all, that wording is pretty yikes. I don't really know what she's trying to say there, and I'm not going to attempt to work it out.
Second, that hairstyle is actually worn by Polynesians. More specifically, I've seen it (and other similar styles) most commonly on the heads of Polynesian pro athletes. Such as:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steve Matai (1, 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fuifui Moimoi (1, 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Martin Taupau (1, 2, 3)
Tumblr media
Alesana Tuilagi
As well as rugby player Isaiah Papali'i:
Tumblr media
And this powerlifter, whose braids are amazing.
Tumblr media
There's also (American) football player Jonathan Pohahau (@/jpohahau5), who braids his own hair and posts on TikTok about it. And while searching for good image examples, I found this interview with Tongan professional stylist and braider Sesalina Simonetti, who does incredible work.
Are these hairstyles traditionally Polynesian? I don't know, because that isn't my area of expertise. From fan reactions, I would imagine they're not. But I'm going to challenge the assumption, made both by EK Johnston and the fans who are upset with her, that Sister's braids are in some way incorrect.
Sister is a clone of Jango Fett, and is therefore modelled (rather beautifully, in my opinion) on Temuera Morrison. Her braids would absolutely be considered a protective hairstyle for someone with long hair and Morrison's hair type, and I would be willing to bet that that's exactly what the people EK Johnston consulted told her. Could she have decided to use a different protective style? Sure. Does that mean this one is wrong in some way? No.
Should Polynesians be allowed to have braids that are generally considered to be Black styles? Good god, that is not my area of expertise either. That's not my judgment to make. But the fact remains that they can, and do, wear those hairstyles, especially in situations where they are engaging in rigorous physical activity that can screw up your hair.
This post is not here to make any kind of judgment about EK Johnston's character, or the quality of her work, or anything like that. This is here because I'm frustrated, because this is not the transgression that it's being treated as.

*whispers* I would like to hear what you have to say on reader inserts in the SW fandom because I too have a problem with them and I feel like not enough people are calling it out 👉👈
I’ve made a few posts about it in the past but I think it’s high time I actually Do This and really get into it.
Before I start: 1) This will be in specific reference to fanfiction written for the Star Wars fandom, particularly tcw and the mandalorian eras, 2) A lot of the issues come down to racist fetishization of men of color by white women; I am white, so there is much that is simply not my place to make statements on. What I can speak most on is my take from the gender side of things.
I’d honestly recommend reading this post by @nibeul with addition by @clonehub first, as they discuss the core issue with reader inserts in the Star Wars fandom.
And 3) some of this will involve discussion of sexual acts (as they relate to fanfiction) and sexual fantasies. These discussions will be non-explicit, and no pornographic text or content will be displayed.
Also. I’m GNC and nonbinary. I’m also a very feminine looking person that falls under the generalization of “small and petite.” I don’t have dysphoria, I like my body and the traits I have, and treating them like inherently female sends me into a blind fury. This is, unfortunately, important.
For the sake of making sure I come across as clearly as possible, I will be writing as though the reader of this post has never read or is broadly unfamiliar with reader-insert fanfiction.
Without further ado.
Hey, Star Wars reader insert fic writers? Please get your shit together.
INTRODUCTION
I’ve been reading reader-insert fanfiction since I was a grade schooler waking up early to check Quizilla. I love it! It got me into fandom, kept me engaged, helped me make and develop some of my oldest OCs, and it’s just fun to read and write- it’s like a self-indulgent little gift you can give to a bunch of people all at once. Because who doesn’t like the idea of starring in their own little adventure, usually alongside some of their favorite characters? It can be fun, immersive, get you attached in ways other ways of fandom interaction may not, make you feel just a little bit special, or be a way to express some feelings you might have about canon and the way the story went.
Like any form of fiction, it ends up saying more about the author’s feelings than anything else, whether the author realizes it or not. For many, many authors of reader-insert fanfiction, the primary enjoyment comes from writing “themselves” into the story- before the readers, the author most often makes the “reader character” someone they, themselves, can relate to and substitute for themselves. They write to live out a self-indulgent fantasy they have, and their readers can come along for the ride.
Some writers do actually try to write as diverse or as vague of a reader character as possible- as few details about the body, identity, etc. as possible so anyone could superimpose their image without the narrative directly contradicting it. This is not the kind of reader insert author I will be discussing.
The kind of author I will be discussing is the one most common in the Star Wars tag on Ao3: White, AFAB, cisgender, gender-conforming, able-bodied women who assume all of their readers are also White, AFAB, cisgender, gender-conforming, able-bodied women. Yes, you can tell.
ISSUE: fetishization of men of color
Again, this post puts it in the best words, but there is a rampant problem with Star Wars reader-inserts, particularly those involving the clones, Boba Fett, and Din Djarin, fetishizing characters played by men of color as either “physically aggressive and threatening, hypersexual and dominant, big strong men who are scary because they do violence and fuck constantly when they’re not” or “completely inexperienced baby who doesn’t know anything about things and needs a gentle nurturing guiding touch to introduce him to the mere idea of a vagina.” The former is common across all of them, the latter most common among clone trooper fics or Din/Reader.
I went into the Boba Fett/Reader tag on Ao3, because I like him and hoped to find something alright. Here are some stats I tallied up (give or take some) based solely on tags, summaries, and warnings:
There are 284 works in the Boba Fett/Reader category as of the time of this post.
198/284 are rated E for explicit sexual content. 69.7% of all Boba Fett/Reader works are sexually explicit.
259/284 are in the F/M category. 91.2% of all Boba Fett/Reader works involve an explicitly female or AFAB reader.
24/284 are tagged with or mention “Age difference,” “Older man/Younger woman,” “Innocence kink” or “Virginity kink.” 8.4% of all Boba Fett/Reader works are written explicitly with an age gap, with Boba Fett as the older party
26/198 E rated fics are tagged with or make reference to “Daddy kink” or involve the reader being called some variation of “little girl” by Boba. 13% of all E-rated works under Boba Fett/Reader are daddy kink fics, or allude to Boba Fett being a daddy dom/sugar daddy.
102/198 E rated fics are tagged as, make reference to, or suggest in the summary that Boba Fett takes a dominant sexual role with a submissive reader involving rough or painful play, or make reference to Boba Fett being frightening, physically intimidating, having a power dynamic over the reader, or being possessive or violent. 51.51% of all E-rated works under Boba Fett/Reader portray Boba Fett as sexually dominant and/or enacting use of physical force or pain play.
Just using this as an example, because it’s the easiest stats I can gather and also what made me realize there was a pattern.
The problem isn’t even necessarily that people write explicit fic about Boba- it’s that 1) over half of all fics in the category are explicitly pornographic, and 2) the way those pornographic fics are written. The two things compound on each other. They’re dominance fantasies projected onto a character of color in which he becomes extremely sexual, physically rough with the reader, possessive, and demeaning towards a reader character who is always written as White, AFAB, and petite.
This brings me to the next issue.
ISSUE: The way sexual relationships are portrayed.
Let me clarify so there is no chance of me being misunderstood: sex is good. Liking and wanting and enjoying sex isn’t bad. It is not bad if you are AFAB and have submissive fantasies. It is not bad to be sexually attracted to a man of color. You can write about sex even if you haven’t had it. Writing about sex can be a good way to express some more complicated feelings you could have about certain things. It doesn’t even have to be realistic. It has its time and it has its place.
This being said.
Sexual relationships as they are portrayed in the vast majority of E-rated Star Wars reader inserts are… not great.
The reader is always AFAB. I can think of maybe one fic off the top of my head where an AFAB reader was written with they/them pronouns and not just she/her.
The reader is almost always submissive, the dominant character is almost always portrayed as cis male. Even when the characters are supposed to just be having spontaneous casual sex, D/S or BDSM aspects will be introduced with no prior discussion or talks about it afterwards. Sometimes characters will start using dirty talk and it just does not fit at all, but it’s what the author thought was hot.
Sometimes, it just reads like a quick smutty oneshot. More often than that, it reads like the author doesn’t realize that sex… isn’t always a dom/sub thing. Or that someone can take the lead in sex and that doesn’t automatically make them a dom.
It’s not bad to be inexperienced. It’s not bad to have preferences or kinks or specific turn-ons.
But it gets… tiring to read, over and over and over and over, because that’s all there is.
That and… I dunno, it just has me a little worried? It doesn’t make me feel good knowing so many people can only portray a sexual relationship if it’s dom/sub. I don’t know why it makes me so uneasy.
Vanilla sex isn’t a bad thing I promise. It's this feeling of insistence that something "spicy" absolutely has to happen for it to be worth writing that gives... some weird vibes.
I’m going to move on to the next Big-
ISSUE: Every “reader” character is exactly the same
By which I mean the following:
Always cis AFAB female
If a character is written with gender neutral pronouns they will always be AFAB and written like Girl Lite
I have never seen an explicitly stated nonbinary/gnc reader character unless it was a request specifically for a nonbinary reader
I have never seen a gender neutral reader insert fic where the reader was AMAB
I have seen a grand total of 1 cis male reader fic and 1 trans male reader fic. The trans male reader fic was about dysphoria.
The reader is allowed to have one of the following backstories: slave/runaway, mechanic, medic, ex-Rebel, secret Jedi, bounty hunter.
The reader is allowed to have one of the following personality traits: throws knives, babysitter, completely civilian, WOMAN, says curse words.
The reader is never written with any narrative agency- things only ever happen to the reader character or around the reader character, they are never written to take charge and actually affect things on their own. Essentially the sexy lamp trope.
Remember when I said the majority of people writing Star Wars reader-insert fanfic on Ao3 were White, cisgender AFAB women who are gender-conforming and able-bodied? This is how you can tell.
It’s at this point where you can tell they’re really not meant to be reader-inserts, but author-inserts with the names removed- they were only meant for a very narrow selection of readers.
I’m nonbinary, I’m gnc, and I’m a very feminine looking person, generally speaking. I’m used to people looking at me and assuming oh, girl. I’m at peace with that.
I can barely stand reading some of these fics just because of how much the author emphasizes that the reader is FEMALE shes a WOMAN with BOOBS and a VAGINA and FEMININE WILES. There’s barely ever even a chance to give myself room to mentally vault over all the “she”s and “her”s because then I’m getting hit with Din or someone calling the reader “girl” or “the woman.” It’s unbearable, and I even fall into the general description every fucking fic author uses for their generic protagonist!
Even with the “gender-neutral reader” fics, it is just. Painfully clear that they just wrote a female character and changed the pronouns- no, there is no such thing as “male behavior” or “female behavior,” and I quite heartily rebel against the concept of gender essentialism. And honestly, I can barely even begin piecing together how I know it and what it feels like, because it’s just one of those vague conglomerates of cues and writing patterns I can’t consciously pick up on but I know it’s there- it’s frustrating, it’s demeaning, and it feels like you’d have to threaten these authors at gunpoint to get them to write a reader character who was any major deviation from the same three cutouts they use every time.
It seems like they can’t possibly force themselves to write a reader character who isn’t meek and submissive or has the sole personality traits of “mean and can hit things”- you can actually strike a balance between “absolutely no personality” and “fleshed out oc” you know? And you don’t actually have to tell the reader what their hair looks like or how full their figure is
It’s like 2:20 AM and I started this at like 8something PM but.
I’m someone who loves reader-inserts. I enjoy them. I still check for new ones regularly. I’ve been reading them for well over half my life now.
So many of these authors are just locked in on exactly one way to write things and it fucking shows. It’s like a self-feeding loop, they just keep writing the same things and the same dynamics because they see each other doing it and they never think about taking a step back.
It’s… exhausting. I’m exhausted. If you’re a reader-insert fic writer and you want to improve your reader character inclusivity and have also read this far, you can DM me or shoot me an ask.

canonically omega makes zero sense. her age and relation to the bad batch is extremely confusing, especially taking the batch’s old-ass-looking character models into account. and her existence as an ‘unaltered’ exact clone of jango is not only laughable considering her physical appearance and unconfirmed gender situation, but also totally ruins the unique struggle integral to boba’s character and narrative arc
HOWEVER, omega is also super adorable and charming, her relationship to the kaminoans is interesting, and she’s the only member of the bad batch that i actually care about besides echo
i’ve been debating what sort of changes could be made to omega’s character in order to better fit my own star wars narrative, and i think i’ve come up with a few good ideas. for starters, she’s an altered clone, though obviously still brown ( and trans ). she’s much younger chronologically, having been decanted only a year or less before the first battle of geonosis, but is mentally + physically about 10 or 11 by the end of the war
side note, i guess, but i’ve managed to stretch the clone wars into a roughly 7 year long conflict in my personal star wars timeline. omega has accelerated aging, like the rest of the clones, but on a much smaller scale. 10 years is 20 years for the average clone, but it’s only about 14 years for her
unlike the alpha class ( boba + the commandos ), commander class, and trooper class, omega is the only member of the ‘omega’ class, and is basically a secret experiment to create a clone that is completely unaffected by force powers. as in, the force just doesn’t work on her. force users can’t mind trick her, lift her or push her, heal her, they can’t manipulate her body + mind in any way using the force
i don’t know, i think that would be interesting........it doesn’t really/totally get rid of the “messing with boba’s arc as the only ‘special’ clone” issue, but at least it makes her actually different from him

The facts as he knows them are as follows: He’s just spent four days on this Force-forsaken planet collecting flowers and accruing a headache of mythical proportions that was now gone along with its cause. He’s been hearing echoing whispers in varying degrees of volume and strength that had battered his shields – the former of which are now gone. He’s been on this planet for four days, alone. He’s just woken up from a really odd dream, the vestiges of which are still waiting to be inspected somewhere in the back of his mind, that, he thinks, might have something to do with the Mando’ad in front of him. Which brings him to the last point, he is no longer alone on this planet.

Anon I’m ASSUMING that these are from the same person; apologies if they are not
I would say that my feelings are similar to yours, but not quite identical ...
Tumblr media
Disney’s handling has been imperfect, and some of the mistakes have been made the highest level (I know that people give Kathleen Kennedy a hard time, but if rumor is to be believed, some of the interference that made IX kind of weird came from higher than that)
for example, Kennedy said in an interview that she tries to find people who just make big, successful movies to make sure that these are also big, successful movies. I can understand that as being a safe bet from a business stand point, but that’s not the same thing as finding someone passionate about very specifically telling good, new Star Wars stories, which we did not really get in the Sequel Trilogy
(one of the most common theories that I saw from TLJ apologists was that people didn’t like that it was new/different than what they were expecting, which was really not the issue for me or my friends. Also it was just a speedrun of parts of Episodes V and VI)
I think that I’m “too close” to Star Wars to see it as a financial asset rather than a beloved universe full of characters and stories that I adore, but I don’t think that “literally just rehash the Original Trilogy for two movies and barely acknowledge any other part of Star Wars until IX” was a good idea
Rey deserved her own story. and Luke deserved to not be retroactively robbed of his
Tumblr media
as for George Lucas, I do think that years of backlash over the Prequels sucked the fun out of it for him. Also, who doesn’t want four billion dollars? it was a sweetheart deal for Disney, of course
the sad thing is that this meant the end of Clone Wars, because Disney took one look at Lucasfilm’s budget and was like “OH NO YOU CANNOT SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY ON A CARTOON” which is why Season 6 was paid for by Netflix and why Maul: Son of Dathomir was a comic
Tumblr media
I love Star Wars Rebels and I’m not trying to knock the show at all, but the budgetary difference was palpable. Clone Wars did have it a little easier because of the Clone Troopers (all having the same face), but on Rebels, you notice that 90% of the Imperials are the same guy wearing a hat with his visor obscuring most of his face. market scenes show just a few people (but plenty of Storm Troopers)
the designs of the main characters -- Ezra, Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Kallus, Thrawn, Kanan, etc -- are great and loving and detailed and most of those change a little over time, but there’s a reason that we only see so many planets on Rebels. look at the huge armies and crowds in Rebels. my friend @drunkkenobi is the first who pointed out to me that in Clone Wars, you sometimes see lines of ships (Space Traffic) and each ship in line will be unique, distinct from the others
it’s not Rebels’ fault that they didn’t have that kind of budget. that’s also why their space battles (and space ships) never quite look right. meanwhile, for Clone Wars, if they wanted a particular scene or ship that went over their planned budget, all that they had to do was ask Uncle George
Tumblr media
eccentric billionaires funding expensive media isn’t necessarily the most sustainable model for storytelling, but it sure worked out well for Clone Wars and for The Expanse
(Jeff Bezos personally called up the head of Amazon Prime programming, who had already been considering acquiring the extremely good but expensive show, and was like “hey the cast from this show is at a thing where I am, I’d love to just tell them that their show is saved, give me it?” and we saw as many new locations in Season 4 as we did in the first three seasons)
but streaming -- where you actually get money directly from customers who then, through their activity on your platform, show you exactly what they want to see aka what is keeping them on your platform -- offers a new opportunity for high quality genre media. remember, scifi and fantasy were EVERYWHERE in the ‘90s and the early aughts, and then because too expensive for regular TV unless they had huge audiences. only through streaming do we have these new Star Treks, The Witcher, and the real possibility of a new Stargate series
why do I bring up streaming? because
Tumblr media
The Mandalorian goes to show that Disney can 100% do good Star Wars. Rebels was good, despite its budget, but can you imagine how much better it would have been if it had aired on Disney+
as with the DC movies (three of which are good and I’m also excited for Birds of Prey), the solution to the our-movies-made-a-lot-of-money-but-aren’t-strictly-speaking-good is literally just “let the people who do the cartoons make the movies”
Tumblr media
and now we’re getting a final, seventh (half) season of Clone Wars! twelve episodes looking better than the show has ever looked!!
if you’re like me, you probably thought to yourself “gee, only 12?” and, cynically, you figured that it’s a trick -- announced at ComicCon in 2018 to build up the first wave of hype for Disney+
and it is ... but it 100% worked on me, I signed up for Disney+ and will pay anything for Clone War
my HOPE is that this is a test run to see if people really like high-quality animated Star Wars stories enough to continue with it. there’s only so much clone wars that one can cover (my suspicion is that we will see Ahsoka fake her death during Order 66 in these eps, so yep, that’s the end of the Clone Wars right there)
imagine a well-written series with everything that Clone Wars had in terms of content and visual quality, but it’s set after Episode IX. to my frustration, IX ends with effectively the same worldstate as VI which essentially means that nothing much happened in the Sequel Trilogy. but imagine a series set after IX. we could see a new set of (Force-wielding) characters. we could see Rey, Finn, Poe, and Rose during some episodes. Rose could finally get to do something that’s not an insulting fool’s errand (she deserves so much better!!!!!)
we don’t need a new Big Scary Empire/First Order thing, just organized crime and pirates and Hutts and bounty hunters and individual planet systems going to war as the characters try to assemble a NEW New Republic (gods I hate the unchanged worldstate)
Tumblr media
now, I know that Star Wars Resistance is not ... reassuring. this is the only screencap that I have from it because I couldn’t get into it. it’s not the animation (I enjoyed Tron Uprising and Iron Man: Armored Adventures and this is the same kind of deal), but three things:
-I watch Star Wars for the Force primarily; other stuff can be cool but I need the Force
-I will never care about ships racing and really I don’t care about an individual ship flying; I’m a Command Ship kind of space nerd
-apparently the writing doesn’t improve much during the first season. people tell the main character to not do something, then he does it, and disaster ensues. that’s ... it’s fine, it’s fine to exist as a show, it’s just not for me
Tumblr media
obviously, not all Star Wars media is for me, but when something -- like TLJ or the Sequel Series as a whole (even though VII and IX are enjoyable) or Resistance -- disappoints me, I would never accuse it of “ruining Star Wars”
Star Wars is a whole franchise. the breadth of canon isn’t all wiped away by some disappointments. was the MCU ruined by Age of Ultron? no. it was a bad movie but from the same franchise that gave us The Winter Soldier and Thor Ragnarok. hell, Dawn of Justice doesn’t “ruin” Wonder Woman or Aquaman or Shazam. bad movies aren’t contagious
for the past several years, the Entitled Dude crowd has felt empowered. they were radicalized in the altright/redpill/MGTOW/meninist/nazi/gamergate/comicsgate/etc spheres of the internet and now they just have a reflex where they see any sort of representation and decry it as “SJW,” which they also seem to think is a bad thing
in the same way that well-meaning people on tumblr can get radicalized into being antis/puriteens, people with certain vulnerabilities on reddit or youtube can get sucked into a world that tells them that they are the default and that other people existing is “political” in media and in real life, and that people being upset by outright cruelty towards them is both funny and means that the cruel person is the victor. they need therapy and studios need to not listen to them
unfortunately, sometimes there are movies that are bad despite having things like solid representation. Ghostbusters 2016 was a delight, but my friends and I with whom I saw TLJ (all of us queer feminists) left the theater angry. we’ve bitten our tongues a lot (even if it seems otherwise) because publicly criticizing the film too often leads some incel monster to chime in with agreement, and we’re just like
Tumblr media
the redpillgate crowed et all is a natural ally of conservative white evangelicals, even though the former group is generally made up of New Atheists (the short version is atheists who hold socially conservative views because racism/misogyny/transphobia benefit them without using christianity as an excuse). it’s kind of like how terfs will side with conservative hate groups because, though they’re natural enemies, they both despite trans people just for existing
unfortunately, when you’re looking at who went to see a movie or who hated it, not everyone posts with an ID card saying exactly their demographic. which is only going to make studios like Disney even more nervous about including queer content in Star Wars and in the MCU (I mean real queer content with characters whose names don’t have to be searched on a wiki)
that was a bit of a tangent, but yeah. sorry if I missed anything

It was a long day since new travellers we're came of visiting the jedi temple, Newton saw some Jedi in front of them; Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Ahsoka Tano and others jedi apprentices and jedi masters. Sackboy was not sure about 'The negotiator' has a sith feelings, confused and curious about him. Serial things may be different or something different. He whispered himself, Why should Obi-Wan Kenobi might hide his sith lord's eye in brief? Should i tell the council about him? Sackboy was not sure about the jedi and the sith. How could he almost treated Obi-Wan?
The cyborg and bird hybrid "66-666" was has quite feelings about both Sackboy and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"What's the matter Master?" Kenobi heard his former padawan; Anakin just said at meetings of new travellers.
"I'm fine, young one," Obi-Wan lied to ALMOST everyone, he was cried in blood.
"How chould you lied to almost everyone?! You almost gave me a heart attack, Master Kenobi!" Sackboy with his voice rough.
Newton was just entered the jedi council to see the whole view inside, curious he feels, walking around in the council, then Nana Pud's son saw the chancellor of the republic.
"Elder man," what all Newton said, "Who are you and why are you in both; light and dark side?!"
"Young Pud, i am Sheev Palpatine, the chancellor of the republic, don't mind Kenobi's apprentice, he is Cat and Human hybrid" Chancellor replied.
Newton was just confused when Palpatine was moved to his office, Sackboy is going to hurt me, the lightbulb teen said in his mind.
*
Sackboy was at the council meetings with Anakin about the proof as he sees Obi-Wan cries in blood.
"For the reason is i was sick of seeing a jedi who cried in blood," Sackboy snaps out at serial jedi masters, "Well EXCUSE me?! Obi-Wan Kenobi has his OWN life," 66-666 scout at cloth kid.
"Better be calm down and be calm," both who snapped or scout just received Yoda's words to have passion.
"Fine," Sackboy and 66-666 just replied fast.
Anakin wasn't sure of there's a discovery between them, "I'll be back in a hour at more or less," he just leave but seen his own mother and Arc Trooper Fives in front of him.
"Everything okay cyare?" Fives asked.
"Yeah.. I-i'm just s-scared of a duros bounty hunter," Anakin shivers. "P-protecting me please? I-i am just-"
Shmi just hug her son of shivers and comforts him. Yes, its comfortable for Anakin. Very comfort for the chosen one. Oh the caressing and projections. Obi-Wan wishes he was a normal jedi, not cried in blood, staying on the light side, not to be a fallen jedi but it's not what he thinks of it, a grey jedi, cried in blood before and after his knighting, half trained by a sith lord. What Duchess Satine Kryze thinks he was?!
Anakin's beta padawan Ahsoka Tano just came back from a mission with Master Fisto and Knight Secura, but she just saw Master Kenobi briefly crying in blood. He was feeling both better but sad.

Kelly Marie Tran, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels Return for Disney+ LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special looks to simultaneously celebrate and lampoon the concept of holiday specials—specifically those notoriously tied to the Star Wars franchise—this November. However, the Disney+ designated event has been revealed to feature some returning cinematic alumni for its voice cast.
The voice cast lineup for the special reveals that Kelly Marie Tran will return to voice her Sequel Trilogy role as Rose Tico, joined by trilogy-crossing veterans Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and Anthony Daniels as C-3PO. Additionally, fans of the contemporary animated sphere of the franchise should be pleased to learn that it will be represented firmly with alumni from Star Wars: The Clone Wars with Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker), Tom Kane (Yoda and Qui-Gon Jinn), James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Dee Bradley Baker (Clone Troopers). As Josh Rimes, director of animation development at Lucasfilm, expresses of the cast in a statement:
“We’re particularly thrilled that these great actors from the Star Wars family chose to reprise their roles and came to play in this LEGO sandbox.”
The story of The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is set to have Rey and BB-8 sent through a time trip through which they will experience a mixed-up sampling of characters and concepts throughout the franchise’s various eras—evidenced by one of the released photos (seen immediately below,) in which Rey is shown locking lightsabers with Darth Vader himself. Yet, while one should not expect strict canonical adherence from a novelty offering such as this, there does seem to be a semblance of continuity here regarding Rey’s arc, having overcome the suddenly-resurgent Sith and her eventual declaration of being “Rey Skywalker” at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Thus, as Rimes puts it, Rey is in store for “a nice It’s a Wonderful Life moment “as she reflects on her own mistakes, her own teachings, and what it means to be a mentor.”
Of course, the special’s return of Kelly Marie Tran as Rose is a consolation prize of sorts for Star Wars fans who felt cheated by how the character—a standout introduced in 2017’s The Last Jedi—was controversially scaled-back in 2019 trilogy closer The Rise of Skywalker, in which she was reduced to a few lines with nothing significant to contribute to the plot. Consequently, Rose will figure prominently in the primary story this holiday special, continuing the trajectory of the arc she was seemingly promised of going from a random, nameless Resistance mechanic to being a A-level hero in the mythos. As executive producer James Waugh, vice president of franchise content and strategy at Lucasfilm, explains to EW of Rose’s presence in the special and Tran’s voice work:
“She has a really prominent role throughout the story.” He continues, “This story works in an A-B way. The ‘A’ story is on Kashyyyk where Rey, Poe, Rose and Finn are all trying to create the greatest Life Day party ever for Chewie and his family. Then the B story is Rey going off to seek knowledge at the Jedi Temple that takes her across the movies’ history… Rose’s role in this it to really takes charge she basically saves the day, in many ways. We wanted to make sure we got a lot of Kelly in as Rose was going to be an essential part of whatever [the Resistance heroes’] future was going to be after Episode IX [The Rise of Skywalker] and she was a blast to work with.”
Additionally, Waugh reveals that the presence of the aforementioned Original Trilogy OGs in the voice cast was uplifting, lauding, “Williams had such great, positive energy around the whole project and, of course, we couldn’t do C-3PO without Anthony Daniels and he brought his magic to the character.”
It will be interesting to see what The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special brings to the table, even if, unlike its 1978 live-action/animated counterpart, it won’t feature franchise-evoking personalities like Bea Arthur, Art Carney and Harvey Korman, nor be graced with random psychedelic performances from The Jefferson Starship. However, akin to the latter, it will nevertheless attempt to build a proverbial city of holiday cheer on the rock and roll of Star Wars. Thus, we seem to have an intrinsically cheeky offering that needn’t be picked apart and over-theorized.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special hits Disney+ on Tuesday, November 17, as the hilarious poster below reminds us.
