I don't know if it's a good time, but I wanna share some things I've found about Franklin, they're so interesting and overall chill like him.
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: These are official! You can search more at gta.fandom.com, also in little missions, voice clips, and also in hangouts Franklin can have with different characters.
1. He sleeps 8 hours a day:
According to a little observation, when you save the game by putting the characters to sleep it also advances their time, for each character there is a certain sleep cycle. Michael sleeps 6 hours, which is little, Trevor being Trevor puts him to a 12-hour sleep, which sounds good, but it's too much, finally, Franklin sleeps 8 hours, which is necessary.
2. He (maybe) is musical:
There is not so much detail about this, but if we analyze his room (in both houses) he has a guitar, mixer, radio, speaker, and more (there's A LOT of music-related stuff in his room in his and Aunt Denise's house).
Here:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
2. He has three favorite radio stations:
These are Radio Los Santos, West Coast Classics, and The Lab, each one ofc has their genre:
Radio LS:
Genre: Contemporary Hip-Hop.
Styles:
Alternative Hip-Hop
Cloud Rap
Conscious Hip-Hop
Contemporary Hip-Hop
Dirty Rap
Drill
Gangsta Rap
Mumble Rap
R&B
Trap
West Coast Classic:
Genre: Classic Hip-Hop
Styles:
Old School Hip-Hop
West Coast Hip-Hop
East Coast Hip-Hop
Southern Hip-Hop
Alternative Hip-Hop
Comedy Hip-Hop
Conscious Hip-Hop
Political Hip-Hop
Gangsta Rap
R&B
Horrorcore
G-Funk
Golden Age Hip-Hop
Hardcore Hip-Hop
The Lab:
Genre: Hip-Hop
Styles:
Electronica
Rock
Synth-Pop
Dancehall
R&B
Gangsta Rap
Pop Rap
3. He may be a Christian?
In the second mission, Franklin got with Michael, this one says sarcastically a vesicle from the Bible "It's a foolish man who builds his house in sand, baby" to which Franklin answers "I don't think my boy Matthew was thinking trucks when he wrote that shit."
4. He's the only one who uses lockpins:
When you take or steal cars with Trevor or Michael, it will always result in a broken window, but with Franklin, this doesn't happen since he uses lockpins.
5. He may like the sky view (Not official, just a thought):
This is just a speculation of different pictures you see in Franklin's page in gta.fandom.com, some of those are Franklin admiring the sky (especially at night) and the city in his Vinewood mansion, but honestly, who wouldn't?
Edit: He does, in one of his switch scenes you can see him using the telescope of his mansion.
6. (NSFW!) He (Probably) lost his virginity to Tonya at 13 years old:
Yeah, strong right? When you hear these two speaking to each other in little missions with Tonya, she revels that she and Franklin had, yk a moment, in the back of Burger Shot, however, Franklin denies it and says they didn't do anything serious.
Tumblr media
7. He cannot play tennis:
You can play tennis with Michael, Trevor's a fan of it, and there's no reason behind of why Franklin can't play tennis (This can be used for like headcanon idk why).
8. Both him and Michael are know to smoke cigarettes:
At Franklin's mansion, you seem to find lots of ashtrays along with Redwood cigarettes scattered on tables.
9. His email address:
His e-mail address is [email protected] (I hc than he likes being called Frankie, idk why).
10. He exists:
Not irl, but the fandom (not all of them) tends to forget him, and it's very sad, he's so cool and precious.
11. He seems to be more compassionate towards animals:
For this one, I'll use the information straight from the gta.fandom.com page, since it's better and more detailed.
"Of the three protagonists, Franklin appears to have the most compassion for animals, possibly because he is the only main character to have a pet. When he runs over a wild animal, he usually responds with compassionate quotes, such as: "Sorry, little dude!" or "Watch out, little dude!" whereas Michael usually responds with sarcasm and Trevor with dark humor."
Tumblr media
Anyway, that's all from my part, I'll try to post more content abt him and Lamar, I think they're such interesting characters, wish there was more content abt both of them.
Tysm for reading, bye :)

i struggle with the statement "i dont like rap" because logistically that makes no sense.
it confuses me as much as if someone said "i dont like music" in general (though with racist overtones). because. what kind of music. theres a lot of music out there. you dont like ANY of it? have you tried every genre???? what do you mean you dont like ANY of it
theres so many fucking kinds of rap dude. and by saying that i know for a fact you have one or two ideas of what rap is and its likely gangsta rap and trap. which in and of itself dismissing those genres is ick to me. you dont have to personally like those to understand how important they are as genres.
but like. country rap. horrorcore. mumble. jazz rap. emo rap. rap rock. drill. latin trap. lofi. cloud rap. boom bap. and hey if you really dont like the cadence of rapping (of which there are multiple, so even thats a generalized statement) then maybe you might like instrumental hip hop. theres so many genres that if you like ANY genre of music, i guarantee theres a rap crossover somewhere in the world

The Guild and Music!! ♬
╰─▸ Fitzgerald, Alcott, Lucy, Poe, Steinbeck, Hawthorne
Tumblr media
CW: None besides probably slightly poor explanations.
Description: The Guild and music I think some of the characters would like.
F. Scott Key Fitzgerald $
╰─▸ Classical & Jazz ☑
I really want to say he likes country, but I don't really see him regularly listening to it. We know Fitzgerald is rich and stuck up, which is why I think he prefers "classier" music. Classical piano music was the first genre that came to mind. He likes how elegant it sounds, and he would probably get some sort of superiority complex for liking it.
"Hmm, I couldn't imagine listening to pop music, it's all the same. Classical music, however-"
For the exact same reason, he definetly likes Jazz. He would most likely avoid music he finds fake or electronic. The sounds of saxophones and pianos are literally and metaphorically music to his ears.
Ex; Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Bach, Mozart.
Louisa May Alcott $
╰─▸ Folk & Classical ☑
I don't want to sound repetitive but I really do think Alcott would like classical music, too. She would play some on vinyl as soft background music while she strategizes for the guild, preferring instrumental music as it's less distracting than music with lyrics.
She seems like she would enjoy the softness of folk music, matching her timid personality we often see in the show/manga. There's something, to me at least, that makes folk music seem more hollow than pop or rock. That's definitely something I can see her enjoying when it comes to music.
Ex; Mozart, The Highwaymen
Lucy Maud Montgomery $
╰─▸ Pop Punk & Indie ☑
Look at me and look at Montgomery and tell me she wouldn't like Avril Lavigne. She definitely likes pop punk love songs. She longs to feel that kind of connection with someone, especially after leaving the guild thinking she had absolutely nowhere to go.
On a different note, her softer side of that desire would probably be the reason she would enjoy indie music. She likes the softer vibe that contrast her strong emotions, but put those feelings into words as well.
Ex; Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, Bon Iver, The Neighbourhood
Edgar Allan Poe $
╰─▸ Goth & Horrorcore ☑
I think these two are pretty connected to Edgar Allan Poe's real world writing and the aesthetic of the bsd Poe. I think he would like romantic Goth music, songs that go into detail on emotion. He also really enjoys the unique style of instrumentals, lyricism is probably the most important thing in a gothic song to him, though.
However, I think he would enjoy horrorcore, too. This one is specifically because of his writings (real world), and also his seven-year obsession with killing Ranpo. On the contrary to softer goth music, I think he wouldn't mind horrorcore rap/hip-hop. (?) He would like the intensity and boldness of the lyrics.
Ex; London After Midnight, Bloody Dead and Sexy, Twiztid, Insane Clown Posse
John Steinbeck $
╰─▸ Old Country ☑
There's not much to say about him, but I think old country would remind him of his family back home. He would listen to it whenever feeling spiteful towards Fitzgerald because of his greed.
Ex; Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton
Nathaniel Hawthorne $
╰─▸ Gospel Music, Christian Rock ☑
Obviously because Hawthorne is quite religious, he definitely listens to gospel music. When he's not and he's angry or upset over something (probably Mitchell) he would listen to Christian rock. Even while upset or mourning, his religion is still important to him and his music taste highly reflects that.
·˚ ₊·› ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ A/N - Thank you so much for reading! I'm so sorry if I poorly described any of the genres i mentioned or used incorrectly labelled artists as examples. I'm gonna be completely honest, I didn't put much research into this and I don't really know all too much about some of the genres, so I hope I did them remote justice lol
Ex; Shirley Caesar, Skillet

All 5 of my top songs are by The Union Underground (Turn Me On, Natural High, Trip, and Drivel) except for one which was Road Rage by Mower which came in 4th. Top artists obviously Twiztid, Limp Bizkit, The Union Underground, Korn, and ICP. They finally fixed the genre breakdown so it goes nu metal, rap rock, dirty south rap, horrorcore, and hip hop. Averaged almost 80 minutes a day, listening time wise, but there are definitely many outliers. Beautiful top tracks playlist if I do say so myself.

((What music I think your ocs listens to based on what they looks like,,, tell me if I got something right))
Eb listens to hyperpop. This is a statement, non-negotiable.
Bank likes webcore and the SCP-3005 roblox game soundtrack. (And hyperpop but like less then Ebony)
I think Boxxy listens to five finger death punch and the call of duty:black ops - zombies OST
Allison looks like she listens to Studio killers and literally nothing else
Leti is a little more open and listens to studio killers AND paramore
Raina looks like she had a punk phase and never left (Green Day, mcr)
I have a sneaking suspicion that Fumei listens to slipknot but just,,, quietly
Shinda listens to doja cat
Yume looks like she listens to classic rock! And otacore ((and the SCP-3005 roblox game soundtrack,,,))
Ikute listens to fukin Red Hot Chili Peppers,,,
I think Bank just overall likes chill game OSTs ((such as Pesterquest/Hiveswap OST, the Minecraft sound track and maybe the Madoka Magica soundtrack,,,))
I'd say these guesses are pretty good estimates!
Eb's music tastes are mostly within the realm of alt and nu metal, whatever the hell ICP's considered, and some pop music for flavoring. I definitely think hyperpop's a good fit for her, I should get on adding that to her playlist lmao.
Which, I've made one for her! As well as Bank and Boxxy. Boxxy's is a bit of a WIP atm cause I just made it, but Eb and Bank's are pretty solid. Here's the links:
Eb's Napster Account
Bank's mp3 Player
Boxxy's Myspace Page
Anyway,
Bank's tastes are fairly accurate. She likes funky music, I wouldn't necessarily say webcore, more in the lines of EDM and City Funk, and she's actually the one most into otacore! She also listens to indie music and bedroom pop, and some alt rock occasionally. Sad girl hours lmao
Boxxy most definitely listens to hard shit, but I think she's mostly into really hyper, really manic, really wack ass music, ESPECIALLY if that music is HARD on the bass. Intense bass is like ecstasy on her eardrums.
Yeah Allison listens to Studio Killers lmfao. She also would listen to stuff like hip hop and reggaetón, and on a completely different side, shit like horrorcore!
Leti is mostly into 90's alt rock and folk. She also frequently listens to classic Spanish tunes, but that's a thing her, Allison, and Ben share together.
Raina is a fucking punk and she listens to a lot of emo and punk classics. However, she's also really into hip hop and rap. As well as house music. And, being the gamer she is, she of course is massively into Video Game OSTs of all kinds. Also she's a piano player and loves classical pieces. She's a fucking paradox
Fumei's a hardcore rock and metal lover! In fact He, Ikute, and Shinda all are! Ikute is more of a bigger fan of Slipknot than Fumei is, but he still enjoys them. He's more into stuff like Metallica and Rob Zombie. And he also really likes classic rock, I'd say he's a bigger fan of Red Hot Chili Peppers than Ikute is lol. He also has a bit of flavoring in his tastes cause he's also really into ska and like, stoner surfer ass music, Sublime is def one of his fav groups.
I think Shinda does listen to Doja but I don't think she's much a listener of her genre. Like I said before, she's more about Rock and Metal. However, she's also really big on Video Game OSTs like Raina is. Mostly Sonic OSTs. She is a diehard Sonic fan lmao
I don't need to repeat it with Ikute, I already said the thing. Anyway, he also fucking loves EDM and dubstep. Dude makes that shit himself and he's pretty good at it tbh
Yume like indie stuff, she likes EDM but not as much as Ikute, and she likes J-pop and chiptune. Her taste is kind of similar to Bank so I won't repeat the same things, she's just into mostly sad/numbing music. She also loves certain game OSTs! She probably listens to the Silent Hill 3 soundtrack a lot.

Confessions of a Recovering Genrephobic 2/10/2024
Hey Whores;
This week I found out a coworker had unfriended me from like all social medias and thats probably is a clue to why they've been given me a cold shoulder for weeks now.
at first I was really hurt and angry. It made me feel like I was some horrible person that did some terrible thing and it made me realize the way that I personalize rejection because it makes me feel that if its simple just my fault. If I am just secretly a terrible just simply awful person then I have some control. Matrying myself makes people leaving me an action I chose rather then something that has been done to me.
I want to be clear that I am not someone who refuses to take personal responsibility and I work really hard to unmantle a lot of my negative traits but there comes a point where you have to stop working on yourself and find people that will actually meet you were your at.
I was really pissed at her for a day or two. Wallowing in my hurt and eventually passed through that emotion. Because whether or not somebody wants to be my friend or not. IS honestly none of my business. If people do not want me in there life I'm not going to fight them. I am no longer making myself small for other people to swallow. I am not longer giving people more of what they already don't respect.
Anyway lets listen to some music.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Father of Invention (2012) - Professor Elemental
Genre: Steampunk, Chap Hop Length: 49:27 (20 Songs)
I will say one as a matter of principle Steampunk should not be considering a genre outright, but rather an aestetic styling. Right you can point me at like Waterpunk or Horrorcore. Those have distinct sounds but girl what does a Steampunk? sound like. Its a literary genre. To prove my point from wikipedia
"Steampunk music is very broadly defined. Abney Park's lead singer Robert Brown defined it as "mixing Victorian elements and modern elements". There is a broad range of musical influences that make up the steampunk sound, from industrial dance and world music[77] to folk rock, dark cabaret to straightforward punk,[118] Carnatic[119] to industrial, hip-hop to opera (and even industrial hip-hop opera),[120][121] darkwave to progressive rock, barbershop to big band."
I definetly understand steampunk as a style of song one makes rather then a specific genre.
Heart of Brass by Charming Disaster is a steampunk song. There not a steampunk band. Right. point over
Professor Elemental is kind of the seminial Chap Hop artist and I really don't know where to go from there.
I guess through contrast?
Mr. B. his playful rival is also very comedic as an artist but he seems more interested in playing into chap hop as an actually M.C. Right he has all these tracks about hip hop as a genre. In one of his more popular singles "(i've no wish) to keep it real" he leads with the line "a big of gold and a pager" which is literally a direct reference to "Straight Outa Compton". There very much is a desire in the genre to pay respect to the origins. There is craft here clearly.
Professor Elemental is more focused it feels on form?
Like the beats have a lot of complexity with samples and record scratching and other Disk Jockey Tricks. One Interlude is just a breakbeat track and its acutally fucking fire.
Overall its hard to describe this in a way that fully encapsilates it. because this is a comedic rap genre. This is like listening to an episode of wacky racers or something, (might be because I'm listening to the wacky racers style track), but its reductive to say that the work is only interesting due to its comedic and narrative nature. This is good hip hop music. There is a craft and depth to it. But it also stands away from the more self-serious origins of the genre. A bubblegum pop situration I guess.
3.5/5
Tumblr media
Rock Steady (2001) - No Doubt
Genre: Electropop, Dancehall, New Wave Length: 49:02 (15 Tracks)
I really didn't like this one guys.
So if you don't know the story apparently No Doubt got really into Jamacian DanceHall music during there after partys and decided to go on a caribbian holiday, drink rum, and add dancehall vibes to there album tracks.
Ok I can just taste the cacastity in this one. Gwen Staphanie what is this.
Tumblr media
(gurl how did I know she did dreads for this one)
and see thats the thing. Because theres some interesting songs on here. but then I get to the dancehall inspired stuff and its kinda shit. Its genuinely just not a good fit for the band, there rock and pop tracks on this album feel a lot stronger.
IDK i think I want to listen to an actually dance hall album by like y'know actually caribiians instead of a pop rock band doing some white tourism.
2/5
Tumblr media
Blessings (2008) - S.J. Tucker
Genre: Folk Length: 37:46 (10 Tracks)
I don't have much to say about this album. S.J. Tucker is one of those singers that sound vaguely like the Celtic Woman. She's a folk musician guys what am I supposed to pull out of this.
The Celtic musical influence. the witchyness. The beautiful etheral voice. Baby girl its like Folk Punk. No one ever says that AJJ, McCafferty, and the Front-bottoms being indistinguishable is a bad thing.
S.J Tucker is a pretty folk singer and she made a good folk album. Through if I'm being honest I don't know what a bad folk album would sound like.

Memphis rap, also known as Memphis hip hop, or Memphis horrorcore,[2] is a regional subgenre of hip hop music that originated in Memphis, Tennessee in the mid-late 1980s.Memphis rap

AestheticEdit
It has been characterized as being low budget, using repetitive vocal hooks and a "distorted",[3] lo-fi soundscape[2] that utilizes the Roland TR-808 drum machine[4] and minimal synth melodies.[5] The genre commonly features double time flows with triplet flows,[3] and routinely uses samples ranging from soul and funk to horror film scores and classical music, as well as hooks from songs by related rappers in the same genre, although DIY productionwithout sampling is common as well.[6]Because of the lack of resources, bedroom studios were often pushed to the extreme. Usually, the lyrics are quite dark and depict graphic subject matter.[3] And similar to New York, their samples are known to be raw and pitched with some scratching in the background.[7] DJ Spanish Fly had introduced the synthetic drum-kit sound with the TR-808, splitting the Memphis scene in two between those who preferred the live versus the digital sound. Alongside a strong drum beat were, "cowbell, syncopated rhythms, powerful sub-bass, and sharp digital snares", these elements becoming the hallmarks of the Memphis rap sound. Looping is also a signature with no steadfast rule, although looping is used over chopped edits.[3]
Memphis artists released recordings on independent labels. The dominance of New York and Los Angeles's hip hop scenes forced southern artists to form an underground style and sound to compete with the other regions. Artists used a grassroots approach through word-of-mouth in the club scene and mixtapes to promote their music.[8]
