Propaganda Begins Here: Bruce cannot help but adopt children who he believes are in need of guidance. Dick Grayson was adopted after his parents died in a trapezing "accident", where Bruce legally adopts him as he felt empathy for the boy's loss and none of Dick's family wanted him (https://comicvine.gamespot.com/dick-grayson/4005-1691/).

As for Jason, Batman found him stealing tires off the Batmobile in order to sell for cash to survive on the streets after his druggie mother had died and criminal father had run away, taking him as his own as Jason had no where else to go after running away from Ma Gunn's school for troubled youths Bruce had placed him in (https://comicvine.gamespot.com/jason-todd/4005-6849/).

As for Tim Drake, Bruce adopted him after Tim's parents had been kidnapped and Batman had been unable to save them from being poisoned, his mother died and his father in a coma. Bruce also mentors other children heroes including Barbara Gordon and Stephanie Brown, both are close to his kids and are sometimes seen as under his wing as well, but neither see him as a parent.”

my (super)ordinary life!

as some might know its about two college boys renting an apartment together(by chance) and dealing with the ghost of a Victorian boy who was murdered by his nanny. the story follows the protagonist Xavier who is a "realist" and skeptic and doesnt believe in ghosts at all. his roommate on the other hand dallas is a firm believer and a medium. the little Victorian kid Arch whos trying to get the attention of xavier due to him looking so much like his best friend in life falls short in doing so through little antics. The two go through college with unexplainable things happening(well dallas tries to tell xavier its the ghost with xavier not believing him) until xavier has enough of bad things happening and finally folds and lets dallas do whatever he needed. they go through alot to finally talk to arch(buying equipment is hard when your in college) and THEN try to solve the mystery of who killed arch, to let him feel at peace and not restless anymore

Government kids??? no name yet- haeaawdjhnThree kids (17 yr old girl, 14 yr old boy and 10 yr old boy) who are all siblings to this last group of people with magical powers end up loosing their parents due to the new government that was implemented recently. But the world for like more then a hundred years now have passed their reign over magic. now magic is only within their brightly colored hair and eyes(bald ppl dont exist). Along with some people having animalistic qualities and other- fanstay qualities. they are still so very human in the aspects of no one has magical powers but they have some extra points towards things like strength if they were a werewolf or something. (they dont change under a full moon they are stuck in the half furry state). anyways. the three kids end up trying to not get captured by the government running all over the place. they go to highschool for a time, then make friends and go to the friends house. a friend dies. some within family drama happens and the oldest sibling fights with the middle child. the oldest gets captured first. the two other siblings go with their owl caretaker(who barely shows up within the story). the youngest seems not to happy with this and escapes to a village somehow untouched by the government and learn about his herritage(somewhat hes like 10). oldest goes through hell to escape and find the middle child and the youngest. turns out hte owl turned the middle kid into the government and winter finding out oliver isnt with the middle she saves the middle and then says a brisk apology as she is on the hunt to find her baby brother. tension between winter and rodger rise but winter is preoccupied with saving oliver. oliver makes frineds with this young girl and her dad and those two help oliver go into the biggest city to try and find winter and rodger. winter and rodger are one step behind as they get into the village. rodger finds out about their family but winter couldnt care less as she is tiredlessly trying to find oliver. its way to much i know and i left out funny goofy government villans that are clear ripoffs of team rocket but in my own funny way...

Super hero esk story?? idk i called it Switcheroo but thats kinda silly.the protagonist is the top villan's son who goes into the top hero school. (the mom sees how influcened he is to do crime but wants the best life for him. she wants him to choose after also being influenced by what their society deems as noble and good) Zero(protag) dorms with a girl(filing mess up) who is the daughter of number 1 heroic(hero system is different here too) bull's eye. on the news they find out the 3rd heroic on the ranking chart gets kidnapped by zero's mom??? and zero goes to talk with her about it as hes grown attached to the girl he dorms with and saw how upset she'd become. the mom denies it and says this was all a publicity stunt from bull's eye to gain more money and fame. zero says to out them. the mom cant. because no one will ever trust the villains. even if they did what would it do. strike fear into people that even hero's are corrupt and evil will always win? they needed to do something. zero tried to tell the girl but she couldnt believe him. they have a fight. zero ends up trying to do everything in his power to make it up to her. humiliating himself infront of the whole school(but he doesnt care). she accepts his apology and makes sure he isnt injured. he does get in trouble but thats not the point. she hears him out and admits to things shes seen as a kid ever since her parents divorced due to money problems. the premise is they have to take down the two top heroics from inside their ogranization or making them quit by them messing up every save. (prank them so hard they quit). (i dont know the ending yet akjwdnajkw) -

The Moon's craters

a bunch of billionares go to the moon(or a planet that looks like the moon whatever man) and colonize there. hundreds of years pass and the world is sci-fi and dystopian esk?? the poor live in slums and the rich live near the sky!. people who live on the moon have adapted to look different. and the story follows one poor boy on the moon. hes loved the moon but hated the system. classic. so one day he sneaks on a ship that travel's to earth. there he's traversing through earth to see if it was better then the moon. in fact it is not. its more- kingdom esk?? ever since a war that happened long ago.(they still have tech and use alot of it they just enjoy the structural build of kingdoms) protag finds a prince(after getting a job as a servant) and tells him about the moon and stuff. the prince is grossed out but interested in the rich people's fashion sense and taste. he agrees to go with. he litterally just runs away with like a shit ton of money and buys himself a ticket to the moon. goes to the moon they find out theres a war gonna happen cause they cauiught the protag "kidnapping" a prince??? protag is wanted. best friend sidekick doesnt give a fuck????:? so they get a trip to a different planet to escape it all. find out they are super underdeveloped and the moon have been taking that planet's orphans for testing!>?!?>! they rescue one orphan from a new shipment of orphans about to be sent out. (thats all i have so far lmao) -

this follows like a ground of people going about space. spaceboots SB(hes got big ass boots), SpaceGloves SG(shes got big ass gloves), Chat(robot guy who talks like zane from lego ninjao but has the brain compacity of a twitch chat), Hat(he wears hats idfk), Shirt(wears beeeeeeg shirt. the hyper cute person of the group). Dress(guy who loves fashion) along with shirt's cat Skrible(very poorly drawn cat who uhm... cat) i forgor most of the plot but like SB uses his mom's ship to do random things through out the galazy and goes on quest. something is wrong with the spaceship i think and they have to get new parts on planets they havent ever been through. they find out more about- the mom and other family i think while getting parts from people who seem to know their parents and shit? aughh i loved their characters so much ajshdakjhwd

Was going thru my drafts and realized I never answered this ask im so sorry!!

I started writing a HUGEEEE thing explaining as much as I could (ended up being over 4k) but I felt that was a bit much so ill just explain the basics on the bat kids. Just a long paragraph for each. Keep in mind that canon changes a lot and there are different comics and shows and version of the characters. Ill just explain what I know the most

Dick Grayson: First Robin. Now goes by Nightwing. Was a spy in one comic and went by Grayson but we don’t like that one that much. Also got amnesia at one point and went by Ric. We hate Ric, don’t bring him up. Was part of the flying graysons in Haley’s Circus with his parents but they were killed by Tony Zucco during a performance (their line broke). Bruce was in the crowd and made Dick is ward. Dick was 8 at the time. When he was 18 he had a fight with bruce and moved to Bludhaven. Thats where he became Nightwing. Hes the oldest kid

Jason Todd: Second Robin. Goes by Red Hood. He lived in Crime Alley by himself (father was in prison (later died) and mom overdosed). Wanted to make some cash so tried to steal the wheels of the batmobile. Bruce was honestly impressed and took him in. Dick was a bit upset at first (bruce give jason robin without asking. In most comics robin was a nickname dicks mom called him) but eventually warmed up to jason. I could go on a whole rant about how jason wasnt the angry robin most ppl say, but I wont. Bruce thinks he killed someone and benches him. Jason finds out his mom isnt his bio mom. His bio mom is in Ethipoia and he goes to find her. She sells him out to joker. Joker tortures him with a crowbar and leaves him in a building that explodes (also kills the bio mom). Talia al Ghul (daughter of Ra’s al Ghul. Hes the leader of the League of Assassins) brings him back to life via lazarus pit. Jasons story is very long so ill just say he comes back angry, tries to get bruce to kill joker, almost kills tim (hes next), kinda becomes the head crime lord in crime alley, and is hella hella protective of the kids and working girls in crime alley. Hes also a book nerd. Wanted to be an english major before he died. He and batwoman (mentioned in honorably mentions below) use guns. Sometimes he uses rubber bullets, sometimes he deosnt. In his newest reboot he uses a crowbar and has a different outfit. Not a fan of it. in some versions he doesnt work with the batfam, in others he rejoins them. i like the latter more.

Tim Drake: Third Robin. Currently goes by Red Robin. (yes like the restaurant. Yes its a running joke in the fandom) The smart robin. Smarter than batman in some universes (most imo). Figured out batmans identity by himself when he was like 8-9. when jason dies bruce doesn’t pull his punches at all and tim is like “he needs a robin.” tries to get dick to come back, but he says no. so tim basically forces himself into bruces life as robin until bruce relents. Tim has a hella messed up storyline that I don’t know very well. Jason tries to kill him, Damian tries to kill him (hes next), theres one story line where bruce is lost in time and tim is the only one who doesn’t think hes dead. Lots of stuff happens. Bascially all his friends die, his parents die, he loses his spleen- its a mess. Hes also the ceo of wayne enterprise in some comics. We also joke that hes an immortal 17 yr old cuz hes almost always 17 in the comics. Tim is bi and has a boyfriend named Bernard (I ship him more with kon tho)

Damian Wayne: Fourth Robin. Trained as an assassin since birth. He’s bruces bio son. Son of talia and bruce. Becomes robin when hes 9 I think. In one story, the bruce lost in time one, dick just gives robin to damian cuz “he needs it.” damian was very…. Murdery at first. Has a sword. Very talented artist. Very very smart. Can take advanced college courses at like age 7. smart boy. He has the most character devleopment in my opinion. Calls himself “the blood son.” is best friends with superman’s son, Jon.

Stephanie Brown: Steph. Goes by Spoiler now. is kinda Robin 3.5. or 2.5 idk when in the timeline she was robin, but she was robin for like 2 weeks before getting fired. Idk much about her. Her father is Cluemaster (villain). Isn’t adopted by bruce, but is his kid nonetheless. She and tim dated at one point.

Cassandra Cain: Cass. Goes by Orphan or Black Bat, depending on the comic. Was raised to be a weapon by her father. Idk his name. Her mother is Lady Shiva, another world class assassin. Cass was taught to not speak cuz “weapons don’t have feelings.” she knows sign and when bruce takes her in he helps her find her voice. In some versions she can speak, in others she just says one or two words at a time, and in some she just uses sign. Shes other than jason (by like 2 months) but younger than dick. Not sure if shes adopted or not.

Duke Thomas: Goes by Signal. I know the least about him. Also not adopted. His parents were jokerized (got posioned with joker gas and kinda went insane.) He’s a meta apparently? I learned that recently. Has photokenesis: ability to absorb, redistribute, and manipulate both light and darkness. Is the daytime hero I think.

Barbara Gordon: Used to be Batgirl, is now Oracle. (in some version steph and cass were batgirl at one point) Not adopted by bruce. Shes Commissioner Gordon’s daughter. Very very smart. Very very badass. Is the guy in the chair for the batfam. Joker shot her in her spine when breaking into her apartment and paralyzed her. But she can still kick hella ass in that wheelchair. She and dick used to date.

Honorable mentions: Kate Kane, Batwoman. She’s Bruce’s cousin. Lucas Fox, Batwing. Lucius Fox’s son. Selina Kyle, Catwoman. She and bruce r kinda sorta in a relationship. Its complicated sometimes. Kate Kelly, Robin. Shes in a separate universe I believe. Don’t know much about her at all. She uses a slingshot.

And of course, Alfred Pennyworth. We love alfred. He has guns hidden around the manor in canon. Bruce doesn’t like guns. Alfred knows this and says “youll never find all of them.” hes sassy and we stan.

And those r the main members of the batfam! Sorry this took so long to answer. It comepletely slipped my mind. I probably forgot a few details, but oh well.

Link Click Theories - Li Tianchen's Powers / True Culprit

So with the last episodes as always there have been many new theories swirling around. We got to see more instances of Li Tianchen controlling other people in the last episodes.

However what struck me as curious is that compared to the previous incidents, he didn't control his victims from afar by photos (okay there are not really photos of LG or CXS) but he had to touch them. I've been wondering whether he has two abilities then. Controlling by touching someone but also by diving into a photo. Or is his ability connected/activated by other factors?

It's also possible that he is able to team up with his sister, similar to how Lu and Cheng work together. She might be able to create a connection with pictures or maybe she somehow inherited Chengs powers when he controlled her. However after todays episode we saw that Li Tianxi is quite helpless and back to her broken self. So either she still has an ace up her sleeve or instead of her it was actually her brother that inherited the ability in this moment. Maybe by betraying her brother and giving Lu the photo, she accidentally created a perfect loop, where Cheng controlled her body. When shit is about to hit the fan and he hugs his sister, which might have lead to Cheng to being thrown out of her body. Probably because Tiangchens powers awakened then and he controlled his sister. However, maybe thats not all that happened. Maybe he also learned to steal/inherit a part of Chengs power and is then able to use photos as well. We still don't know how the siblings parents died but I'm very curious.

When the person that controlled Ling Quiao in S2 Ep1 confronted Cheng they also mentioned something about interest in taking away his power. So I've been wondering how would they take powers? By touch? Is Li Tiangchens power not to control people but actually to copy powers? Would he be able to use Chengs photo powers after he touched him, or Lu Guangs ability to view the future? Or would he have to kill someone to take the power? Maybe he gained the control power from his sister? Or maybe from his mother? After all their father was crazed that she was often followed by other men and betrays him? Maybe there's more to that if that were her ability?

However, it's also possible that someone is puppeteering everyone from the sidelines, like the character with the hat from the cover art of Season2. That person could be the true culprit and might have the ability to take away powers and just watches what Tiangchen is able to do with his powers. That or it could actually be Cheng's future self, after he breaks the flow of time in the next episode. He might end up meeting himself and his opponent or ally could be himself. It's possible that Cheng caused everything that happened and activated/gave the power to the person that commited all crimes, so maybe he was pushed to unravel it all and give everyone a happy ending.

This is still very speculative but it's made me suspicious. What is everyone else thinking? Head filled to the brim, too many thoughts.

cynthia (volo) family tree

cynthia is cogita's grandkid! her parents weren't present so cogita raised her until, of course, she got disowned for the whole trying to destroy the world thing. cogita sadly passed away before they could truly reconcile.

while there is no canon ancestor to iris, i think its fun to say that cynthia met iris' ancestor and they had kids and 200 years or something later, iris exists and cynthia gets to meet her great great great great grandchild or something. we'll come back to iris in a minute :)

i also think that lusamine also decended from cynthia, which means gladion and lillie also are related to cynthia! not that its important but you know. giant family.

i do ship cynthia and diantha. i think diantha is one of the few who know that cynthia is immortal but was most definitely the most recent to find out. iris is not aware of this. but these three are found family anyway <3

speaking of found family, prof. carolina and cynthia's younger sister are purely adoptive of sorts. but they're still found family. love them. wow cynthia 2 found families thats crazy.

cyrus (cyllene) family tree

yes this looks odd without context but we do have context so it doesnt matter. cyllene x laventon is canon and you can pry it from my cold dead hands. too bad cyllene got widowed and then found out they were immortal AND trans after laventon died.

anyway, cy and lav were married and akari + rei were their adoptive kids. ingo was akari and rei's adoptive uncle too but that isnt relavent to the family tree. also laventon is a distant relative to leon and hop :) maybe he had siblings or cousins who are great (x?) grandparents to them. who knows.

anyway damn cyrus why do you got 2 found families. but yeah team galactic is naturally cyrus' found family of course. he is his commanders exhausted adoptive father since all of their families suck lmao

mars family tree

i think mars and cynthia have the biggest family trees. anyway mars' was the first one that i did incase that wasn't obvious lmfao, but anyway, lets get into it!!!

arezu is ariana's great (x?) grandmother. ariana had a spouse that she had mars (maria at the time) with, but then she left them once she was like 'oh shoot im having silver!!!', so mars is vaguely aware that silver exists somewhere out there but she has no clue who he is otherwise. and then ariana and giovanni are married and had silver, who has no idea who mars is (he'd probably go through a crisis if he looked at sinnoh news, so lets keep it that way). silv and mars have a 9 year age gap btw just throwing that out there

silver found a new dad (lance) and some really weird teenagers about his age who he got stuck with. he's dating one of them. you have to guess. (i already know which one but im leaving it up to the mind bc silver isnt the focus in this au so imagine whatever you want).

mars and her silly little astronaut friends are her found family! i think arezu would flip her shit if she found out her great (x?) granddaughter was adoptive siblings with that one criminal lady (coin). but hey its fine!!! mars has her weird spaceman father and her weird astronaut siblings and life is good (mostly)

arezu deadass just has a bunch of decendants who commit various crimes

saturn / jupiter family tree

i grouped these two together since they've got the smallest family trees.

saturn is (obviously) a decendant of coin, but he has no contact with his family and hasn't spoken to them in years by the time pokemon platinum takes place.

jupiter and fantina are siblings (fantina is older by a few solid years) but they really don't like eachother. they have little contact with eachother and dont exactly speak often. but they do wish eachother happy birthday sometimes so thats a plusside i guess.

and of course saturn and jupiter both have found family with team galactic. awww how sweet :)

Ok... Pecharunt and Arceus' relationship is a big spoiler... so you won't be getting that today :)

But I can yap about the rest!

I think Arceus is aware of the loyal three, but not their true selves. Kitakami turned three people who protected the land with their powers into figures of myth and pop culture icons (Yknow how we got a bunch of media based on gods (both greek and like. the bible) and also historical figures? Think that. I like to think the Loyal Three have cartoons, books, toys, etc based off of them lol), often revered as being on the same playing field as the gods, so ofc Arceus has heard about them. And thy (... part of my Arceus' pronoun set is Thee/thy pronouns.) don't really care. To Arceus, the three were just some good Samaritans who died for a noble cause and were memorizlized as such; a tragic tale but not much else to it. Upon learning their true intentions (aka being THIEVES!!) he'd be disgusted at their deceitful ways and how they managed to get the last laugh even in death through Ogerpon losing everything but STILL being hated, while they are treated like heroes, but otherwise he's not gonna. Like. Jump The Loyal Three. Arceus ain't gonna kill them again!

Okidogi: Never really thought too much about Arceus really bc he wasn't a religious person, but I think learning that Arceus is a shitty parent + has allowed some shitty things to happen would make him very upset. He's the most emotional out of the trio while also having the best emotional intelligence (doesnt mean he uses it, but its there!) so knowing that God is MID AS FUCKKKK would stress him tf out, but lowkey he'd sit there and be like "OHHH SO THATS WHY THE GIRATINA MYTH GOES DOWN LIKE IT DOES! CAUSE ARCEUS SUCKS! Poor thing" FGHJKL

Fezandipiti: His relationship with the gods is weirddd given his. Childhood. (Aka his mother believes he was a demigod born through a virgin birth DONT WORRY ABOUT IT) so any talk about the gods makes him feel kinda sick. So just thinking about Arceus is a no go regardless if he knows the extent of God's crimes against fellow gods, and actually meeting the fucker? BLEHHHHH

Munkidori: Fucking hates the gods with a passion and Arceus is no exception. He wanted the power of deities and now that he kinda has it he's full of hubris, BUT not enough to be like "Lol Im better than Arceus", BUT BOY DOES HE STILL HATE GOD! ... And I think given the spoilers w/ Pecharunt he'd hate god even more, though he wouldn't admit it outloud given his pride and refusal to look like a softie

ok lyserg and jeanne propaganda before the polls start because everyone needs to know how fucked up they are (part one of more than one featuring me explaining things poorly)

(this is the one picture I have of them together. it's also of their corpses from this one time they both died. will not be touching on that yet)

this does require me to explain the basic plot of shaman king which is annoying because it's dumb

ghosts are real. some people can see ghosts. and talk to ghosts. those people can also put ghosts into objects to give them a physical form (this is our shonen power system. what). possession is also a thing but it gets replaced with the other one 10% in so it's irrelevant. there is this one ghost that's better than all the other ghosts (the great spirit). every 500 years there's a tournament to see who can become the shaman king and use the great spirit to do. stuff I guess? the shaman king is basically god, which is handy for this poll because the guy who becomes god is a catboy mass murderer (his name is asakura hao btw)

this brings us to part one of godly trauma, the part with god in it (it is the less significant godly trauma. step up your game hao). hao is just generally a menace who has committed many many crimes, most notably killing our boy lyserg's parents. this makes lyserg really mad because how else would you react to that and he dedicates his entire life to revenge.

enter the x laws, the guys who are really really fucked up. the x laws are what some wiki described as an "extremist group" which is true but they're a cult in my heart. the x laws are a group of people who hao did crimes at (which is really funny when you remember 90% of them are in their 30s or older and hao's body was like, 5 when he did crimes. btw he's the reincarnation of this onmyoji from 1000 years ago it's not important moving on). they were founded by these guys who's car dealership got burned down, and so they picked a random girl (jeanne) off the street and convinced her she was sent from god to defeat hao, and also made a bunch of angel ghost car gun thingies (I don't even know). there are a bunch of these x law guys and they run around in their burial clothes shooting angels out of guns and worshipping an 11 year old in a functional, stabbing included iron maiden. lyserg splits up from the protagonist party shortly after meeting them join the x laws and visibly spirals into their harsh and cultish vision of justice and almost kills a man (jeanne ends up killing the guy btw it's fucked)

they're both really fascinating characters and I have at least 14 other related tangents but

Arcane Characters the Batboys would relate to if they watched the show.

Duke would vibe heavily with Ekko. Turning a bunch of lost kids into a vigilante group that fights against the injustices of their city? Then meets a mentor from the top ring of the elite? Thats Duke's origin story. (When Tim tells him that Ekko will probably get time powers next season, he's even more hyped.)

Tim was the one who played LOL and was excited for the Arcane series, forcing everyone to watch it with him instead of the normal family movie nights. Caitlyn is his favorite because he understands what it's like having rich parents who both seem to want nothing to do with you but also try to stop you from helping others. He also sees a little bit of himself Jayce during the Council Bribes happen. A little bit of Victor when the character refused to stop his experiments. He can't help but think of him and Stephanie when watching the Caitvi scenes.

Dick saw so much of himself in both Vi and Jinx he actually had to talk about it with Bruce after the series was over. He knew exactly how Vi felt when she was given so much responsibility over her younger siblings and how much pain she was in when all the male members died on her watch. Dick could picture the same scene of Vi and Powder in the alleyway, but with himself as Vi and Powder as any of his younger brother. But when Vi slapped Powder, he was instantly reminded of when Bruce slapped him for disobeying a command in the early Robin years. After the first arc, He saw so many similarities between The Sisters trying to reconnect, with him when he was trying to bring Jason back to the flock. But during The Jinx Boxing scene it was eerily familiar to how Dick took his anger out on Punching Bags instead of people.

Jason, surprise surprise, instantly felt connected to Jinx/Powder. He knew exactly what it was like being in the shadow of the older sibling who was "twice the person at half their age." Milo and Claggor reminded him of all of Dick's Teen Titan friends who either felt Jason could do nothing right or could only tolerate him because he was Nightwing's younger brother. But he did connect with Vander, Milo, and Cloggor during the Monkey Bomb scene... (guess why) He also connected to the Jinx Boxing scene the same way Dick did. But the one person he hates admitting to emphasizing with is Silco. He hates that Silco was manipulating Jinx into fighting against her own family, but he can't say he dosent understand what it's like to be willing to get your hands dirty in order to have or make a better life for more people.

Damian was shocked to realize that Mel was raised nearly the same way he was. The way The Meridas valued being both the Wolf and the Fox, was the exact mentality of the Al Ghuls. Only difference was Damian couldn't just watch his mother and grandfather make and enact the "necessary" decisions. He was the one decapitating children. Yet both Mel and Damian were exiled. It was something to reflect upon after the series ended.

Bruce was surprised that nearly every main character in the show would somehow reflect an aspect of Bruce's life. He first saw himself in Vander. Adopting four orphans to make up for his sins. Being a leader who plays both sides to keep the peace. Getting overwhelmed when the kids go through a rebellious phase. But the sisters were similar to Bruce's youth. Powder reminded him of him before and shortly after Crime Alley, the feeling of helplessness as your family is ripped away from you. Feeling as if nothing you do is enough to keep your family together. Vi was more like him when he hit puberty. All that misplaced anger and highly protective instincts made him lash out against any bully picking on him or other kids. Of course, during the Monkey Bomb scene, he was hit with both Jason's death scene and the Crime Alley flashbacks. Alternating between Vander and Vi. The Vi slap scene hurt because it reminded him of all the times he took his anger out on his family. Even though they needed him to be their rock, he would always get overwhelmed and say something to them he'd regret it nothing at all. Almost every time Vi met with her sister he couldn't help but think of all the fights he had with his own family. Caitlyn was similar to when Bruce first started working on his detective skills. He was so gung-ho about figuring out who was the kingpins and who was secretly working for them. Caitvi definitely reminds him of Him and Selina. Jayce is a great representative of how Brucie Wayne is supposed to act outerly, a charismatic pillar for the elite who wants to use his resources to help everyone. But it also makes him remember all the times of Brucie's good intentions screwed up the lower class of Gotham. Mel is who he feels like on the inside when he perfectly manipulates the Socialites and Board members into taking his side at important discussions. He did feel like Ekko's Firelight design was probably inspired by Batman. A vigilante who makes his own tech? Wears a mask/costume with a fake voice? Blatantly copying him. (Duke did not appreciate that comment)

so this starts DIRECTLY after pursuit/search for lost time . Roguefort had been accused of touching an object from the past which caused a butterfly effect and fucked with the timeline , and the tbd caught onto this and had them arrested. they have their own court cause like. Theyre meant to be a secret organization and they need to hold trials for people who commit time crimes but they couldnt just hold a normal trial cause that wouldnt be very secretive!!!! also disclaimer i dont know much about law HEOP

if anyone reading this doesnt know my polt fanon already i will not be linkimg my ramble post about it because i really need to rewrite it (i hate how little walnut is included) but long story short roguefort is blinded by rage and um. sets their family's house on fire and causes an event that happened when they were a child where their whole family died!! they are Not doing very well mentally at this moment and timekeeper decided it would be funny to put them on trial so she framed them for touching the object. this is all literally just tk entertaining themself (nobody knows shes behind it all)

roguefort needs a lawyer and timekeeper decides to drop into langues office and . Practically threatens to kill langues parents if they dont agree to defend roguefort. they agree and then rogueforr just fucking falls through a time rift onto the floor and they are Not doing too well. timekeeper leaves and suddenly theyre on their knees begging langue to just let them go to jail (theyre filled with unbearable guilt for doing something so awful and they dont want to admit that theyve actually killed a mansion full of people but eveeryone at least thinks they caused a disruption in the timeline,, they want to go to prison so bad because they just want to be punished they want their guilt to be relieved they want to feel like theyve paid for what theyve done and thats why they want to go to jail so badly)

langue tries to ask rogue what exactly theyre going to be arguing against but. Yeah theyre not in a state to be explaining that thankfully a time rift opens and theres a case file that drops on their desk

Theres BARELY any evidence towards rogue. i dont want to spoil the actual evidence parts (i have thought it all out) (also it would take too long to explain every little thing) and like. Langue doesnt exactly doubt that theyve done the crime but they remain optimistic because they have to prove rogue innocent no matter what. timekeeper never specified if they have to just defend rogue in court or actually win so theyre going to try their best to win

i never figured out exactly how but like . Walnut hears abt whats going to happen and runs up to langue and BEGS them to let her help and they end up agreeing since she knows so much about phantom bleu

the prosecutor in this case is chocolate graham cookie, an oc of mine (and a custom by @/incorrectinfinity). He was hired by the TBD and handles a lot of the trials involving time crimes and he is Undefeated. hes never lost. and during the trial he somehow just keeps pulling out more and more evidence that comes out of NOWHERE but apparently exists and every single time langue and walnut are able to point out a flaw. Eventually the evidence starts contradicting itself and just gets more and more confusing and ridiculous until walnut realizes Holy macaroni graham is messing with the timeline. Every time his evidence is proven useless he just goes back using this watch he has and messes with the crime scene to make rogue look guilty and thats whats been happening with EVERY trial hes done

it turns out hes just Really greedy and an asshole who will break the very laws he claims to enforce just to get more money !!! so hes arrested by the TBD and roguefort is declared innocent the end yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yippie!!!!! wahoo!!! yayyyyy ^_^ lalalallayayayay woooooo!!!!

and the tbd just. Does not care about all of rogues other crimes They have much more important things to do like keep the timeline in check they dont care if some phantom thief is stealing diamonds in a random city. they just let them go home since they werent the one tampering with the timeline LOL

At War or In Love?

Donghyuck knew he was a cheerful boy. His cheerfulness was given to him by his mother who he lived with for the first five years of his life. He couldn't remember her face but he did remember her smile and bubbly attitude and it stuck with him even after he was seperated from her to live with the Lee's. To live with his father.

He's always been social and good with people so he couldn't understand why Mrs.Lee hated him so much. Nor could he understand why his brothers who he was so excited to meet never spoke to him, so he had simply assumed that talking inside the Lee house was forbidden. He barely remembers his early childhood, just glimpses of memories passed through his head. Memories like Mrs.Lee's glares and awful words, memories of yelling and crying but he wasn't sure where the crying was coming from, memories of being stuck with an awful Maths teacher who really didn't like him.

But those were just distant memories because the memories that stuck with him were sitting at the dinner table and eating with his brother's, his elder brothers taking care of him and pampering him, Marks red face when he would annoy the boy who no matter how mad he was would never push Donghyuck away.

He remembers growing up protected by Taeyong, Ten, Mark and Jeno from his awful step mother. She was the only person Donghyuck ever despised, he remembers how she was drunk and angry one day and she grabbed him by his arm and yelled at him, told him he wasn't supposed to exist, wasn't supposed to be loved. But she was also told him something that broke his eight year old self, she told him his birth mother had died.

He remembers crying into Tens arms bitterly and all of his brothers joining him, huddling together on Tens small bed to console him. That night when he had fallen asleep in his brothers arms he dreamt of his mother, his mother who smiled at him and told him he was loved and that he was ment to love and to always be happy and cheerful. And so he believed her.

He lived his life quite happily, shielded from his parents by his brothers, which he would grow up to appreciate.

He was cheerful and friendly and loving and got along with everyone. So he couldn't for the life of him understand why you made his blood boil so much.

"Y/n you're messing it up!" He yelled, frustrated but you only ignored him poking you tongue out from the side of your mouth as you concentrated on lining the border of your assignment with decorative tape.

"Do you think we're still in kindergarten?" He mocked you and without wavering your attention from the task at hand you spoke, "If we were in kindergarten I would be at peace and you wouldn't be here." And that angered him even more.

"Why did you follow me to uni" he grumbled under his breath sitting down next to you.

"Please you followed me here" you scoffed, handing over the assignment to him.

"Why did you even waste time decorating the first page of the script. It doesn't make sense and doesn't even add to our marks"

"One. It makes our script original-" "but isn't the story in it origna-" "TWO. It looks cute" you said with a grin plastered on your face and he looked at you and wondered how anyone could be so irritability adorable.

"Well if you're only going to stare at me weirdly I'm leaving" and you were gone before he even got a chance to say anything. Haechan sighed, looking at the cutely decorated cover page to the script the two of you worked on together. You really were stupid.

Before he knew it he found himself at lunch seated in between Mark and Renjun.

"Ugh I swear if this one doesn't turn our right I'm quitting" Renjun grumbled to no one in particular as he continued to work on his art assignment. Haechan sighed feeding the busy boy a sandwich and Mark rolled his eyes.

"What are you losers upto" Jeno asked, approaching the table with Jisung trailing behind him.

"I'm still in shock you're studying music and dance" Mark said taking a bite of his food.

"He says that everytime" Jisung rolled his eyes as he sat down.

"At the pace at which Jeno was going at I'm pretty sure Mark expected him to get into crime" A voice spoke and all the boys looked up to be greeted by a smiling Jaemin.

"Aren't you supposed to be on my side?" Jeno asked Jaemin with a pout and the other just laughed handing him a bottle of water.

"Please I love Mark more" the grinning boy said and Jeno being his dramatic self visibly deflated.

"Calm down there casanova Marks already got someone" Renjun said, eyes still on his painting.

"Where's Chenle?" Haechan then asked. "He's still stuck in the practice room, said his partner is being annoying" Jisung answered after he realised no one else was going to.

"Pft I know a thing or to about annoying partners" Haechan scoffed and everyone at the table sighed.

"Here we go again" Jisung said rolling his eyes and digging into his food.

"Again?"

"Oh please Haechan this happens everytime it's either y/n this or y/n that. You're obsessed" Renjun said banging his paint brush onto the table.

"What! That's not true" Haechan started to get defensive.

"Please the amount of tension between the two of you is crazy! Like just date already" Jeno laughed and now Donghyuck was very embarrassed.

"You're single ass should date first you've still not dated anyone after-" Donghyuck stopped himself immediately realising the words coming out of his mouth.

"That's my fault isn't it" Mark frowned.

"No!" Jeno said and then glared in Donghyucks direction, "No. I gave you my blessings it's okay I had to get over our relationship and I'm so happy for the two of you right now" Jeno said quickly and Mark frowned.

"But what if you had a chance.."

"Mark Lee you foolish fool if Jeno said he had no problem and literally encouraged you to date his ex then don't question it. Plus he's giving his all to music right now" Jaemin said patting Marks back.

"Hate to say this but Jaemins right, like Jeno could have easily killed you in his sleep of he had a prblem with you, we live in the same house remember?" Haechan added grinning and everyone faceplamed.

"Anyway moving on I've got a buisness class right now I'm going to run" Jaemin said getting up and leaving and Renjun jumped up cheering.

"Geez I didn't know you hate Jaemin hyung" Jisung the ever sassy said and Renjun looked at him confused before realisation dawned on him "Ahhh no I'm done with my drawing and I need to run too" Renjun said eyes widening as he noticed the time, grabbing his stuff and running off. They watched with a laugh how Renjun who was usually calm and graceful tripped as he ran out.

"Wait when did Jisung even leave?" Mark asked pointing to the empty seat. "Ungreatful brat" was muttered by Jeno.

"Are you guys secretly hanging out with y/n and lermimg disappearing trick from them?" Haechan asked and Mark and Jeno just gave him a look. "what?"

"Y/n again? I'm telling you you're obsessed" Jeno chuckled and Haechan chocked on his spit as he quickly got up and hurried away from his brothers teasing.

He was on his way to his locker when he spotted you laughing rather fakely to something a very attractive boy was saying. You laugh was a pitch higher than normal and Haechan almost snorted loudly. Almost. And you were most definitely flirting with that guy.

He approached you with a smile from behind, tapping your back and watching with utmost pleasure when you frowned.

"Is that a new laugh y/n weren't you snorting like a pig just today morning" he asked with a cheeky grin and you frowned.

"Shut up and leave" you said throught gritted teeth trying your best to keep calm.

"Oh c'mon I was just kidding" Haechan smiled and was about to wrap his arms around your shoulder when the boy you were talking to stopped him. He glared at the hand stopping his.

"I don't know who you are but you're making y/n uncomfortable so you got to leave" the boy said pushing Haechans hand away and grabbing onto your hand and pulling you away from Haechan.

Haechan stood there shocked at the boys actions for a second before snapping and pulling you back with so much force you fell onto his chest.

He glared daggers at the boy, his eyes threatening him. "Y/n and I have known eachother all I lives and now we've got a project to work on so don't suddenly interfere in the life of someone you know nothing about." Haechan said coldly, venom hidden behind each word of his and he dragged you away.

He was fuming, not realising where he was going until he was at the garden with you.

"Can you believe the nerve of that guy?" He scoffed but you didn't say anything head hung low. He immediately took notice of that.

"Y/n what's wrong?" He asked worried and thats when you looked up at him, eyes tired. "This has to stop" you pleaded and he didn't understand what you were saying.

"You did this back in school too. You were awful to me and hated me but the moment I was with someone other than you you'd make a big deal out of it and end up fighting with that person" you said said, voice breaking and tears glistening your eyes. Haechan was about to defend himself when you spoke again. "I'm so tired of whatever crap you're pulling Haechan, you were always sending me mixed signals in school and I let you take me for a ride but not again. I liked you but hated you. You made me angry but so happy. You pushed me away only to pull me back and I'm sick of it" the tears now made their way down you face as you cried and Haechan stood there feeling so guilty for making you cry.

"Y/n I'm so sorry I didn't mean to.."

"Of course you didn't mean to" a dry laugh escaped your lips, "but tell me, did you ever like me? Was this just entertainment for you? For when you were bored?" You asked with spite.

And suddenly everytime someone hinted at his weird obsession with you came back to him, "Look I don't hate you... Atleast I think I don't. Not that much I-" You scoffed cutting him off.

"It's either you like me or you don't stop playing with my heart this isn't funny" you said rather calmly but the anger visible in your eyes.

"I don't know...I don't think so" he could hear your heart break and somehow he felt like maybe, he was wrong.

"Then leave please leave" you said agressively wiping away the fresh tears falling down your face. He tried to comfort you but you raised you hand stopping him.

He sighed in defeat and began to walk away, head hung low. He felt bad for making you cry and wanted to see you smile. Just then the thought of you crying in that pretty boys arms crossed his mind and he felt and awful feelin at the pit of his stomach. Jealousy. He was jealous, he wanted to make you happy and he wanted to hold you as you cried, he didn't want you to look at other people lovingly, and he hated the thought of you kissing someone else so he immediately turned to you and grabbing you by your shoulders.

"Look y/n I want to believe I hate you but at the same time I hate when it's not me that makes you happy because I love making you smile, I love making you laugh, I love annoying you." He said eyes serious as you blankly stared at him.

"All I know is whatever is going on in my head, you're at the center of it and you're the only one that can help me figure out what my fixation with you is."

"That's stupid." you mumbled, looking away from his intense gaze and he smiled.

"Nothing's stupid in love and war y/n and right now I don't know if I'm at war with you" he paused and you looked up at him and he smiled at you fondly, "or in love with you."

You looked at him awe struck and he couldn't help but chuckle at how cute you looked, with eyes still shining from all the tears and your face flushed.

"Will you help me figure which one it is?" He asked, his tone hopeful and you thought for a while and nodded as he grinned happily. And you smiled.

"This might just be my own downfall" you started with a frown and then a very small smile made its way to your face, "But atleast then I'll know more than I know now."

"This is stupid he's in love with you" Jeno said with a frown and Haechan pouted as he watched you laugh.

"Ah y/n run away while you can, our hyucks really stupid to even think he hates you" Mark added and if you weren't holding his hand right now Haechan would have punched his brother.

"Oh so this is the infamous y/n" Ten said walking into the room with a smirk on his face and Haechan silently cried inside.

"We really need to leave" he said but you were at your antics again and said "no we don't we have plenty of time don't we" he swears he hates you but at the same time it was impossible to hate you when you smiled at him like that.

"Ohhh is this y/n Donhyuck?" Came his eldest brothers voice and this time Haechan did cry.

"Oh c'mon don't pretend to cry you love me"Taeyong said patting his back and you chuckled.

"No I love Mark" Haechan said glaring at the eldest who only chuckled, "What's with everyone's fixation on Mark?" Jeno asked and Ten rolled his eyes "You just don't see how adorable our Markie is because your Taeyongs pet"

"Hyuck this is your fault the name stuck!" Mark growled and you stood there watching the brothers argue with eachother, amused at their antics.

"Ahh this is what you'll be getting into if you associate with this family" A voice said behind you and you turned around to meet the person who was your senior in high school and the one that stole Tens heart.

"Wouldn't I be lucky if that was the case?" You asked but another voice spoke "Try being stuck babysitting five grown men" you turned to see the person you recognised as Marks partner.

"I will hit you!" Haechan yelled charging at Mark who had run behind Ten who was yelling at Taeyong for help who who was being held down by a sulky Jeno.

You shared a look with the two people beside you as the three of you broke out in laughter.

1. Because I know you don't like this one and am curious how you'd handle it: dark princess cass

#1: dark princess cass (canon flavor)

the fanon concept here is straightforward; rather than edmund revealing himself to be eugene’s father he turns out to be cassandra’s, and where most folks tend to go with the idea from there is “…and then cassandra takes the moonstone because she feels it’s her destiny as the long lost princess of the aphelion.”

which i don’t like because 1. cassandra being a commoner is pretty integral to my reading of her and 2. that is a STUPID reason to take the moonstone.

so here is how i would do it:

1. princess…horatia is sent away from the aphelion as an infant, under the alias cassandra, in the care of a nursemaid. for the first few years of her life she knows this woman as her mother and they travel across the continent, seeking a safe refuge. eventually they reach corona and the nurse—let’s call her hala for the sake of having a name—hala decides this seems like a good place to settle down. (also being on the western coast they are now literally as far away from aphelion as it is possible to get.)

2. not a few months later, the coronan princess is kidnapped, and the king imposes a harsh crackdown on crime. while hala herself isn’t caught up in that, she is a…well-educated common woman who has just spent years toiling across an entire continent with a toddler because her king made a single dumb decision that resulted in the utter obliteration of her home and killed thousands, and she sees frederic meddling with magic beyond human ken and punishing his own subjects when the consequences bite him in the ass and she is not impressed.

3. so she goes: fuck it. my daughter now.

4. what hala is supposed to do is raise princess horatia in full knowledge of her heritage and the burden of her royal destiny until such time as she is old enough to return to the aphelion and guard the moonstone. what hala actually does is raise her daughter cassandra to be hard-working and compassionate and deeply skeptical of monarchy as an institution and destiny as a concept. cassandra is well aware that hala adopted her and of the aphelion’s collapse but it’s through the lens of “your birth parents died because our king Fucked Around and Found Out.”

5. when cassandra is, oh, let’s say twenty she happens to cross paths with one moira caine, who doesn’t radicalize her so much as she mentions this awful thing that happened to her dad when she was younger and cassandra is like. thats fucked up. we should start a rebellion.

6. fast forward about two years. rapunzel escapes her tower a la canon and ends up with… er, faith as her lady-in-waiting, an assignment which does not particularly suit either of them. (faith finds rapunzel’s lack of boundaries stressful but unlike cass isn’t brave or blunt enough to push back, and rapunzel reads a lot of things into faith’s constant presence and reluctant acceptance of everything but is also horrifically lonely because there’s no true bond between her and faith.)

7. by this time cassandra and caine are both notorious criminals / dissidents / revolutionaries who have been cooking up plans to topple the coronan monarchy; rapunzel’s return throws kind of a wrench into things because they were going to assassinate frederic and take advantage of the ensuing chaos due to the unclear line of succession.

8. cassandra: so do we uh– do we kidnap the princess or what

9. cassandra and caine crash the coronation and kidnap the princess. they are unprepared for the princess, who has spent the past six months slowly boiling alive in repressed frustration and anxiety, to decide that being KIDNAPPED by a couple of LADY RUFFIANS is the BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED EVER.

10. they get rapunzel past the corona walls and shenanigans are had, leading ultimately to a chance discovery of the black rocks, which rapunzel touches out of curiosity, cue explosion and spontaneous hair growth and mad sprint for safety followed by cassandra, who knows exactly what those black rocks were, going: uhh this is probably very bad.

11. rapunzel: so what i’m getting from this is there’s a mysterious connection between my hair and the black rocks so i need to run away and find the aphelion and this moonstone thingy and not go back to corona where i’m trapped in the palace all the time right? RIGHT?!

12. cassandra: uh—

13. and that’s how kidnapping the coronan princess turns into getting dragged along on her manic quest for freedom. they cross paths with adira pretty shortly thereafter and eugene catches up with them fully intending to rescue rapunzel from the vicious criminals only for rapunzel to be all HI EUGENE MEET MY NEW FRIENDS! WE ARE GOING! ON! AN! ADVENTURE!! and he just has to deal with rapunzel’s new besties being a couple of revolutionary lesbians who are now pretty openly mulling a “get the moonstone and use it to topple the coronan monarchy?” plan which rapunzel is fine with for sOME REASON OKAY SUNSHINE I GUESS THIS MIGHT AS WELL HAPPEN.

14. lance gets added to the party via hijinks in vardaros. possibly stalyan also because i love chaos

15. some tension does develop between cassandra/caine and rapunzel/eugene due to them getting on each other’s nerves but because rapunzel has no material power over cassandra’s (or caine’s) life and found being a princess utterly unbearable anyway the entrenched toxicity that emerges in canon… doesn’t. cass does still sustain an injury in the great tree due to reckless experimentation with the withering incantation but the more balanced group dynamic allows for hurt feelings about this to be talked out in a more genuine and productive way; and a little bit after that they hit the shell house, where, well,

16. zhan tiri: so i heard you kids want to destroy corona,

17. rapunzel is ambivalent about the DESTROY part but given the circumstances zhan tiri gets the whole group on board by pretty much just laying her cards on the table: she wants out of acid hell, she needs both the sundrop and moonstone to do it, uniting the drops will kill rapunzel, if cassandra uses her withered hand she can take the moonstone instead, and FINE if they let her out and crush the coronan government she’s willing to negotiate on not slaughtering everyone in corona. (spoilsports).

18. team feral rocks up to the aphelion fully confident in this flawless plan and edmund drops the revelation that cassandra is his long lost daughter and princess of the aphelion on all of them like a goddamn GRENADE. cassandra has a whole existential crisis, snatches the moonstone like they’d all planned but also mostly because FUCK YOU “DAD” and runs away to have loud complicated feelings in the woods by herself.

19. caine, once they’ve caught up with her: so would overthrowing the—

20: cassandra: yes overthrowing the coronan monarchy would help me feel better let’s fucking go

i think if i were to write the fic it would be pretty light-hearted in tone, with the lion’s share of the conflict and drama springing from the development of interpersonal relationships between the mains rather than, like, high-stakes concerns about the fate of the world, and once cass got the moonstone the two big threads would be 1. her reeling through this discovery of being a long-lost princess and figuring out her uh, complicated feelings about that in light of everything else and 2. zhan tiri being a horrible chaotic gremlin who’s, yes, scheming to steal the sundrop and moonstone for herself but also becoming increasingly fond of this horrible chaotic gremlin found family she sort of tripped into (#squadgoals)

cass and rapunzel not having any particular investment in holding onto their magic in this one i think their reactions to zhan tiri yoinking the drops after however many months of shenanigans and feral bonding would be YOU COULD HAVE JUST ASKED

#2: dark princess cassandra (rival kingdoms au flavor)

this is the like, diadem au class of dark princess cassandra wherein the core premise is that rapunzel is corona’s princess and cassandra is the dark kingdom’s and the two nations are at odds with each other in some way. which is a category of au that pretty much just exists to ship cassandra and rapunzel together with star-crossed lovers vibes and whatever shippy aesthetics and tropes float the boats of the people doing them; but what floats my boat is fantasy politics and eldritch horror tropes so thats what we’re going to do.

1. aphelion is ruled by queen calanthe gothel and prince consort edmund. (i will not apologize for how CURSED this concept is.) they have a bunch of children, because royalty; as the eldest, eugene is the crown prince. cassandra is the youngest, and thus so far down the line of succession that she hardly even counts as a “spare,” and she is also, being the only daughter, the one calanthe is the most vicious towards.

1a. no sundrop or moonstone in this setting, so calanthe isn’t and cannot feasibly become eternally young. 100% of her vanity and anxieties about aging and appearance and resentment about what all this childbearing and the demands of ruling a country have done to her looks get channeled into being completely fucking evil to cassandra / treating her like a pretty vessel who through which calanthe can vicariously relive her lost youth.

2. meanwhile over in corona king frederic and queen arianna famously struggled with infertility for YEARS without managing to produce a single heir… until princess rapunzel, whom arianna died giving birth to since there was no sundrop to save her life. even taking into account that she is his sole heir frederic is… very overprotective of rapunzel and has kept her pretty sheltered, to her detriment. she is of course well-educated as one would expect a royal heir to be, but she has zero real life experience and basically hasn’t left the palace ever except for a handful of times in a heavily guarded carriage with the curtains drawn.

3. so both cassandra and rapunzel are fucking desperate to escape their miserable situations but rapunzel has no idea where to even begin getting herself out and calanthe has sunk her claws in deep such that cass is mired in her own sense of guilt and obligation to her family and to her country.

4. on the larger scale corona and aphelion are neighbors who have been entrenched in stalemate territorial / border disputes for longer than anyone alive can properly remember and tensions are flaring up again because calanthe does not like to be told no and does not respect treaties whatsoever and has been quietly setting up to go to war and flat out conquer corona because, well, in for a penny, in for a pound, right?

5. on top of that frederic is juggling domestic problems in the form of lady caine’s nascent rebellion and longstanding ongoing unrest among the conquered saporian minority, and calanthe is having some problems with a mysterious cult that has sprung up in the last few years and has been doing alarming things like trying to wake up the sleeping horror trapped in the caverns beneath the great tree in northern aphelion.

6. the plot kicks off with calanthe’s agents cutting a deal with the saporian dissidents to assassinate frederic and cassandra discovering by accident that one of her handmaidens (sugracha) belongs to the weird tree cult and being like you know what a literal primordial demon can’t possibly be worse than my mother i’m sold and promptly getting sucked into the cult’s garden apocalypse bullshit and the story is a chaotic free for all between a) wildly unprepared eighteen-year-old queen rapunzel, b) queen calanthe who declares war the day rapunzel is coronated, and c) an increasingly feral and unhinged cultist cassandra who maybe starts picking off her own siblings one by one about halfway through once she gets in deep enough that “human sacrifices to wake up god” starts to sound totally reasonable.

i think i would go full eldritch horror with this one rip to everyone.

...

i do aLSO have a little corner of my brain with a lot of very detailed ideas about how i would do the diadem au premise specifically because the diadem premise fascinates and the cliff notes of that is:

1. just really lean in to the vibe that zhan tiri was a very abused child who (in contrast to the rest of her family, who give lip service to wanting revenge to stop the coronan genocide of mages but are clearly content with the present status quo because they're wealthy and comfortable in diadem / fuck you got mine) cares fiercely about the plight of both mage refugees in diadem who have not been as fortunate as her own family and mages still living and being persecuted in the rest of the kingdoms

2. zhan tiri and prince cass were friends, sort of friends, the closest thing either of them were allowed to have to a friend as children but had a horrible falling out a few years prior to the story, in large part due to interference from zhan tiri's family members who were concerned about zhan tiri radicalizing the heir to the throne and potentially jeopardizing the good thing they've got going on here; thus why at the top of the story cassandra is so burnt out on the notion of friendship in general and wary of zhan tiri's attempts to get closer to her again in particular.

3. cass much more aware of, invested in, and concerned about the mage problem but also her mom is queen gothel and she has no friends and despite being a prince very little political agency thanks to the sprawling bureaucratic indifference of the diademese government,

4. zhan tiri the spymaster is watching the sanctions imposed by the other six kingdoms against diadem get sharper every year, watching the aristocratic grumblings about missing their imported luxuries and let's just sign the damn accords already get louder every year, watching her own people languish in poverty and starve and die every even in diadem their last refuge; she's receiving reports of fresh atrocities and pleas for assistance constantly and nobody seems to care and she's getting desperate,

5. and rapunzel has no clue about anything except that she is a mage and she's really scared of it getting out and this diadem place where magic is everywhere and not illegal sounds really nice and wow prince cassandra is very pretty isn't she?!!?!?

6. cass pedestals rapunzel hard because she has literally never met anyone who is so unreservedly sweet and honest and kind before but they are on such different pages and trying to carry on the secret long distance star crossed lovers thing on top of dealing with her mother's abuse and the cutthroat diademese court and being stressed out all the time about the horrific crisis happening all around her is... really bad for her mental health actually! and rapunzel clinging to her as a sole source of emotional support for the mage thing does not help!

7. the final straw is when cassandra is injured during one of their elicit meetings (gets bitten by a wolf or whatever like in diadem proper the details do not especially matter), and rapunzel who is a mage with all of like a year and change of trying to teach herself how to do magic via secret trial and error with zero help and zero resources, is like "yeah i can totally heal that let me try!" only to botch it really badly, because it's one thing to make a torn up arm look all better and quite another to knit all the blood vessels and nerve endings and flesh back together the way they're supposed to be, so it seems okay at first but by the time cass makes it home she's like. in agonizing pain and cannot move her fingers which are starting to go necrotic from lack of blood flow and cass is like: fuck.

8. which brings her to zhan tiri, who has been honing her magical abilities since before she could walk, knows a botched healing when she sees one, and is like "who the hell did this to you"—cue months of painstaking magical surgeries to reconstruct and regrow large parts of cassandra's arm and likewise slow and painstaking rebuilding of old friendship and "well the silver lining is if we spin this to your mother as a failed assassination attempt we can probably get her to declare war on corona and make the world SLIGHTLY LESS FUCKING AWFUL?"

9. diadem's superior military rips a bloody path through corona, gothel dies of matricide totally natural causes, cass takes the throne and cleans house, cass and rapunzel meet again and tip-toe into a civil working relationship, and cass/ziti is endgame because i think they deserve it.

10. caine's still a rebel mage living in corona (also one of zhan tiri's contacts and fairly instrumental in the curbstomping of corona) but her ending does not in any way shape or form involve living in domestic bliss with lance this is important

#3: dark raps / corrupted sundrop au

orig concept yoinked straight from tovanori’s post:

What if the decay spell corrupted Rapunzel and she convinced Cass to take the Moonstone so they could rule together. Cass plays along but is actually looking for a way to get Rapunzel cured from the corruption.

this one was super trendy in cassunzel circles for a hot minute spawned a bevy of dark raps fics and art and then kind of died down. i think the base idea is neat but in execution… well it was very horny ghsdfjk and the fics i read did not engage much or really at all with a lot of the things i like best about the latter half of of s2 and also were very zhan tiri whomst? and none of those things are how we roll here at bestworstcase dot tumblr dot com.

dark raps au is also one where i have a lot already jotted down about how i would handle the concept so i’m going to just, lightly edit my existing notes, broken up into chronological chunks, in lieu of doing a numbered list.

first thoughts:

my immediate instinct is to go for “dark raps, but cassandra has her normal motivations,” i.e. cass takes the moonstone because she’s mad and tired of getting shoved aside. on the one hand you have raps being subsumed by this other personality of ‘zel’ who is possessive and unapologetically selfish and power-hungry, and on the other you have cass who has been boiling in resentment and pain since they left the great tree, trying to figure herself a out a way out of this mess for almost as long, and upon encountering zhan tiri in the house of yesterday’s tomorrow resolves to take the moonstone herself. when cass snatches the moonstone and dips rapunzel feels like cass has taken away something that rightfully belongs to her—not just the moonstone but cassandra herself—and the ‘zel’ persona reveals herself and leaves everyone else behind to chase after cass, and then you’ve got cass and zhan tiri pursuing their own agendas with the moonstone while zel obsessively pursues cass and team corona + the brotherhood are left in the dust wondering what the HELL just happened.

everything i write is secretly a comedy:

something very funny about cass not clocking who ziti is at first and ziti not having any idea zel is coming after them so she has plenty of time to warm cass up to the idea of attacking rapunzel and then zel fucking ambushes them and ziti is like wait WHAT and pulls some demon shit to get cass out of danger because cass hasn’t quite gotten the hang of the moonstone stuff yet … and that’s how cass learns who gremlin baby is cass like zhan tiri did u do this and zhan tiri is like i literally did not see this coming i have no idea. kill her tho

further thoughts:

on reflection i think the most fun way to handle the corruption of rapunzel would be to swap out subconscious!raps for subconscious!zel in rapunzeltopia. rapunzel has all these traits she inherited from gothel, she viciously represses her bad feelings, and she’s the vessel for the sundrop, which gives her various mystery powers. in RATGT she really starts to embrace her more forceful side. forget the decay incantation corruption thing; the events of RATGT & RDO leave rapunzel boiling with guilt and shame under the surface but also give her a massive shot of reinforcement of her worst impulses—everyone, including cass, validate the choices rapunzel makes in both conflicts. then they’re trapped in the shell house and rapunzel gets shoved into this lotus dream where she’s put under intense pressure to go back to being the sweet, spineless, weak little girl gothel trained her to be, which—for completely mundane, non-magical reasons—makes her SNAP. the little mental box where she’s stuffed all her bad feelings explodes and all this repressed anger, distress, selfishness, even cruelty she’s been holding back slams into the conviction (that she’s been clinging to in order to cope with her buried guilt) that she is In Charge, Always Right, The Queen, and Entitled To Make Whatever Decisions She Deems Necessary… …which manifests—again for totally mundane reasons—in her dream as the character of zel. zel is not a split personality or magical corruption she’s literally just a figment rapunzel’s unconscious brain invents to make sense of this huge surge of righteous indignation, anger, and desire to HURT the people who keep trying to control her. after rapunzel wakes up, the particulars of the dream get hazy but she does remember this ‘zel’ character who… was her, but a different, stronger, more self-assured version of herself. all the traits and feelings that zel represented are present in rapunzel’s psyche, and they scare her a little, but they’re the things that saved her from tromus’ machinations. so whenever they bubble into her conscious thoughts during the final leg of the journey, rapunzel embraces them instead of shoving them down the way she used to. so: she’s not subsumed or corrupted, she just accelerates through this spiral of becoming the worst possible version of herself because it feels good, safe, right in some way. it saved her from being controlled and exploited. of course her cheerful demeanor doesn’t change—in fact, she seems outwardly happier and more relaxed than ever before!—so of course none of her friends notice what’s happening in her thoughts, and they can’t step in to go WOAH rapunzel you’re going a little off the rails here, so all the brakes are off. she starts to feel genuinely eager to take the moonstone, because it’s hers, her destiny, right? and then she and eugene encounter demanitus, and demanitus doesn’t just sell rapunzel hard on the destiny narrative—he also says that uniting the sundrop and moonstone will grant her enormous power, the power to shape the world however she wants, and rapunzel wants that. because even after all this time she still feels trapped, she still feels scared, but if she has all that power no one will ever be able to crush her down again. …except then cass steals the moonstone right out from under her and escapes, and rapunzel kind of goes berserk because she’s built up this whole power fantasy in her head about freedom and safety and cass snatched that away. so that’s the moment when she goes well fuck THIS and decides to call herself zel, to stop being nice, to embrace the full range of the sundrop’s powers… including its darker side via the withering incantation. maybe something also about gaining control over the decay magic because she embraces her own darker feelings like this. the corruption not being magical at ALL also gives a reason for zhan tiri to miss it; she just couldn’t care less about what rapunzel was thinking after cassandra got on board, and nothing magically weird happened until cass left and rapunzel exploded. s3/rapunzeltopia implies that rapunzel’s ideal fantasy would be for cass to happily serve as her lady in waiting and i feel like that would be the core of zel’s approach to cass; like getting her back into place and persuading her not just to accept that to be HAPPY with it—subdued compliance a la RDO isn’t good enough.

everything i write is secretly a comedy pt. 2:

zel is just rapunzel’s emo edgelord phase but because she’s a princess and a walking magical nuke the consequences are dire i love the idea of rapunzel not physically transforming herself until after cass has escaped. charging after her to get the moonstone back and calling for her to wait, but then the bridge is broken and cass vanishes and she just kinda :o → :| → >:[ → >:C so a couple weeks later when zel, now all dark har and black schleras and stuff, catches up to her cass is like RAPS WHAT THE HELL ziti gets released like a month later because zel attacks cass again zel is about to yoink the moonstone when fully corporeal zhan tiri falls out of the portal lands on her head and bites her murphy @ancientriverbed: “all of corona just like what the fuck” me: “cass is also like zhan tiri what the fuck”

/old notes

all of this was idle spitballing so i did not think deeply about the plot beyond rapunzel spiraling hard into this awful, toxic headspace and then getting so power drunk that she goes full villain for a while while cass and ziti sort of wrapped back around to being “good guys” by dint of cass being like what in tarnation is wrong with u while zhan tiri goes through an arc of “haha yes i am manipulating this unwitting pawn into doing my bidding so i can steal the m—HEY WHAT THE FUCK” and then “well that’s… convenient but i am suddenly feeling very protective of cassandra for [violently slams fraught history with demanitus into the trunk of forbidden things] NO REASON AT ALL” and then “oh no i care about her. welp i guess i have no choice but to steal the sundrop instead because this will surely solve all of my problems,”

but in re: everything i write is secretly a comedy: the funniest possible ending here is “zhan tiri yoinks the sundrop out of rapunzel during the eclipse, and everybody including rapunzel once she’s come down off the power trip high agrees that this is, bafflingly??, the better option”

It was a silent stealthy journey back to the ship, Echo being pushed along the way by Wrecker mostly as he was trying to process what was being told to him.

So...Y/n was dead? No that was possible- they couldn't of killed everyone.

He walked onto the ship the twins wishing them luck as they rushed back off into the darkness. He took a seat on his bunk, removing the head gear and mask, his gaze trapped within the grain of the metal.

"Tech get us out of here." Hunter demanded.

Wrecker watched Echo, his brows furrowed and in conflict.

"Hey. Kid." Wrecker spoke nudging Omega softly, "Good job out there."

"I just stuck to the plan." She smiled.

"Wanna do one more mission?" He asked playfully she nodded happily.

"Go find Lula. I think someone needs her." Wrecker spoke as Omega nodded rushing to find the Tooka doll.

Wrecker walked over to Echo, sitting across from the reg, Echo kept his gaze down.

"Hey."

"I don't, I don't understand." Echo responded, "I- I don't..."

"It's okay-" Wrecker tried to speak.

"But it isnt." Echo seethed.

The sudden jolt told them they had jumped to hyperspace. Echo rubbed over his eyes.

"What was Y/n's family doing associated with the Empire..." Echo spoke, "I...I don't..."

Wrecker frowned, Hunter watching the cockpits doorway, his brother lost and confused, let down and heart broken.

Walking into the cockpit the door closed behind him.

"You'll want to see this Hunter." Tech spoke, "Echo was right."

Hunter took a seat, "Y/n's code name is Rosyln then?"

"In a sense yes, yet It is many things." Tech informed, "It's multiple things, a name, a code name, a secret military operation."

" a what." Hunter demanded answers now.

"On this disk it says Project Rosyln was ment to help in implicating...hunger in a sense.."

"Hunger?" Hunter asked, "Hunger for what?"

"Flesh, sentinel flesh," Tech responded, "They had many failis dead on contacts, until. Rosyln."

"The dead brother of Y/n's Echo mention." Hunter spoke as Tech nodded.

"He survived it, partially, resulting in an outdated inner rim disease known as Cancer." Tech responded, "though it is not sepcified what type, he died young."

"So how does Y/n fit into it?"

"Rosyln was Y/n's younger brother by adoption law on corosaunt, and the Zabrack was not lying when he said The L/n family was ontop the imperals kill list, it was ment for them to go into hiding, to essentially metophorically and phsycially slip into the dark." Tech contuined.

"Okay so the kids?"

"Test subjects." He responded, "farm animals, future death troopers fueled by anger and loss, much more. Hunter, They weren't a family, those people they called there parents? Used them."

"Can we save any of them? Y/n? The older kids? The young ones? Anyone?" Hunter questioned.

"This here is a list of kids of Y/n's family," Tech spoke, plugging into the panel infront of him as the hologram formed, "red are dead, there eay of leaving is by there name. Jay here died of rejection of food, he starved to death. Siora drowned herself in the shower room-"

"Thats enough Tech. Who's alive." Hunter demanded.

"Y/n here is still alive, but that is all." Tech responded opening the file, "but has a number of unstablizing test ran on him, it shows here his diet was starting to change from normal foods to sential flesh, but before they could change him fully he escaped."

"How."

"Unknown."

Hunter was silent, for a moment as Tech closed the file, going through the others, "This also contains other information, such as helpful codes the imperals are now using, current inflation in imperal troopers, comn chatter and resources-"

"Don't let Echo see this." Hunter spoke.

"Hunter, I. I don't think this is a good idea." Tech told him, "You'e seen what he'll go through already to see him again. Hunter that was a sith he went up on, a Pyke leader."

"He doesn't need another thing to have a mental break down on. What happens if we find Y/n? Dead in a ditch-." Hunter argued, "if we can't fix him- we can't even help Crosshair None the less ourselves!"

"Hunter, he deserves to know." Tech defended, "let's be real here Hunter, we've nevee been there for him, we saved him from one hell to put into another, we can't help him because we don't understand him."

Hunter was silent, he knew Tech was right, "You're right." Hunter told him.

Tech pulled the disk from the panel looking back at Hunter, "Hunter I know this is hard. But this is his family. And I wish for a time in my life, I was wrong."

Hunter stayed silent walking out the cockpit, and down the small hallways, Omega trying to cheer Echo up with Lula and Wrecker with a supportive smile.

"Echo."

Echo looked back, "Tech wants to uh...show you something."

Echo got up without a word walking into the cockpit.

"Is he gonna be okay?" Omega questioned looking up at Hunter.

"Sure he will!" Wrecker tried to stay postive looking back at Hunter who kept his gaze down.

"Not this time Omega." Hunter told her, as she leaned in for a hug, he patting her head as she hug his stomach.

Tech walked out the cockpit, the doors closing behind him, "Echo wishes to take first watch while we rest," Tech informed.

"Where do we go next from here?" Omega spoke looking up at Hunter.

"We'll keep working jobs for Cid, seeing what we can do." Hunter responded, "Tech when Echo is done with that disk, see if anything on there has Crosshair on it."

"I have alredy copied the disk, I will look through it more on my watch after Echo's." Tech responded.

Hunter nodded

"hey kid." Wrecker spoke up, "lets go play a game together."

Omega nodded as Wrecker picked up Omega the two walking away to her room, Hunter mentally thanking Wrecker.

"How'd he react." Hunter responded.

"He hasn't." Tech responded, "I left it plugged in. He has the option. I just don't know if he's used it."

It was true, Echo had the option, the wanting, but he sat in his chair, staring at the disk sitting in the panel.

This was it.

This was the ticket, he could know, move on, grt some type of closure either Y/n was dead or alive. Even if Y/n was dead or alive he let Y/n's biggest secret slip.

'Just...I don't like people to pity his name.' Y/n told Echo, the two standing in all black together and umbrella over head as they walked the cemetery, 'he fought hard, that's all that matters, and there's no reason you should pity someone for when you loose,'

Echo nodded at him, 'I won't tell anybody, I understand to a degree, but if you need to talk, I want to listen,'

Y/n nodded, 'Thanks again for comin along Echo, not the best way to meet my baby brother,''

'I was glad to meet him, either way,'

Echo rubbed the back of his neck, finger's scratching at his nape. Standing up and walking over his hand hovered over the disk, should he pull it out? Should he press that small white button to let every fear he's had consume him?

He pulled the disk out, this was the right choice. Whatever he needed to know. He'd learn from y/n when he'd see him. Rubbing over the disk he slid it in his belts pouch and sat in the piolts seat looking out into the blue swirls. He was doing it again.

Sitting in silence, watching nothing new pass him by. Y/n was alive, if the others believed it or not was there choice, it was there opinion, he knew what he was saying was a fact, and he didn't need no disk to tell him so.

But the question still remained, Why was Y/n involved in crime syndicates and with Sith?"

The male turned himself around shoulder hair length, strings of white in his hair; stress induced.

"It's done." Lom Pyke spoke, "The kids are out, where is the spice."

"It's on the ship don't you worry." He spoke.

"You've returned the favor after I've said you returned the favor."

"Then we've returned the favor." Lom Pyke argued.

"I did everything you asked!" Lom Pyke argued, "I've stuck my neck out for you more than you can imagine you cannablistic bitch!-"

The pyke leader was cut off, lifted into the air as he gripped at his neck, and brought forward quickly, choking on the lack of air.

"Do you know who I am?" The man questioned quietly.

"L-let-" the pyke tried to speak stratching at his neck for breath, "let me g-go!"

"Oh...you don't?" The man questioned, "I was afraid once...not to long ago, afraid as you are now..."

The sound of choking made him pause adding slight pressure, "p-please!"

"I am no longer afraid...I am..." the man thought, any more and the pyke leader would die, "Well, funny thing is, I don't even know who I am anymore...but I do know, that, you, owe me much more than you think."

The man was dropped to the floor, attempting to catch air, "Perhaps, you wish, once to see who I was, to see how I became this thing you call a cannablistic bitch!"

"Please! No-" He defended, raising his head to look up in plead, "Not again! Not that place!"

A hand was placed on his head, as the Sith lord walked in. Within a matter of seconds the Pyke fell limp, the man pushing him over as he fell and rolled down the small stells of the elevated ledge.

"You're here for a reason Maul?"

"I am indeed, that clone, you told to meet us on Zut, there were clones."

"Entertain me Maul." He spoke, walking down the small steps, the hells of his boots clicking as he made it down the steps.

"Seems you're little buddy Captain dipshit isnt the only clone that's defected. That little Ray shit of your's hacked the imperal files." Maul spoke, his tone as usual, dark, broody, annoying to the mans ears, "Clone force 99, may just be on our side."

The man snatched the datapad from him, "and they have a child with them. How wonderful."

"Status' as of current."

"Like I said that dipshit of yours sursingly has his corners covered. Ray's tracking them as we speak." Maul told.

The man looked through the photo's there he was in all his glory, sure angry but just as remembered.

"Lets hope an ex sith lord, a fucked up group of clones, a cannablistic bitch kill, and some kids can help kill your old ass wrinkly master." The man spoke Maul snatching the data pad back and making his leave.

"Oh. And one know's who you are." Maul responded standing in the door way, "Before I gave them anything, one knew Rosyln is Y/n,"
