head nurse: Elijah Volkov, he makes all the announcements, and is mentally decaying. Boy oh boy, is he quite the man. Silly little bpd man, collected mental illness like Pokémon. But he's caring, and will do just about anything in his power to help the campers out when needed. He has a knack for elephants, likes sharing fun facts, not only about elephants but anything and everything. No filter😋 if he's thinking it, he'll say it, obviously nothing bad will come of that. Trust issues, yummy.

assistant nurse: Adam Uptin, always carrying snacks with him, he can get you to share how your parents wronged you then shove a bag of skittles in your hand and walk away. Adam isn't a fan of leaving the nurses cabin, let alone his side office, something about being a vampire and ""ahhhh the suns"",,etc etc. Although, you can lore him outside with some sunscreen, an umbrella, and an apple.

Cabin Dung Beetle: Juniper Sloan. long neck, dirty blonde. British man, he's scared of the water (blah blah blah "i'm experiencing the past, present, and future all at once and i can't breathe." yadda yadda yadda) besides the meltdowns and break downs, he's pretty silly

Cabin Grasshopper : Marisol Yuchengco, 👁️dresses in gothic attire, but she's one of the most understating counselors you'll ever meet. Salem de La Marnierre, 👁️scene kid vibes, lowkey really chill though. The two are dating<3 (basically just the same as chnt, just,,, ya'know,, swapped.)

Cabin Magpie Moth: Rowan Chow, the goofiest mother fucker in the entire camp. He can actually produce sound effects, he doesnt choose them or when they happen, that's up to the universe, they just come from his general area. This man runs off of actual cartoon logic, dont question it.<3

Cabin Silkworm: Yvonne Marley, femcel. That is truly all i have to say about her. She pull's misinformation straight from the internet and spreads it like mold on moist bread. Joshua MacHeath, tictok eboy, he can make a killer flower necklace though. Joshua will sit with the kids who can't/won't participate in certain camp activities and teach them how to make bracelets out of, well, anything and everything!

Cabin Tarantula Hawk: Lucille Bertuccelli,👁️ she's an older counselor, a sweetheart though. Not only does she keep cabin tarantula hawk up am running, but she also is in charge of the arts and crafts cabin! Gracie Liu (👁️lowkey, i forgot gracie liu existed, so all of her color are just inverted. no matter how you picture her in ur brain, just invert the colors)

Cabin Ladybug : Soren Baltimore, 👁️a bit of a quiet lad, it wears a cape given to it by fennel. soren wears pants that are cover completely in pockets, those pockets are practically infinite, anything you can imagine, soren has it in its pockets. Fennel Marlborough, 👁️our favorite camp taxidermist (don't tell anyone) they have the art of life preservation down to a tea, now if they can only get em to start moving again. soren and fennel are tightly nit, they made up two languages, one between only them and the other for the entire cabin.

Cabin Widow-spider: Matthew Napoleon, 👁️he is the void, don't be scared of him just based on looks though. Matthew will teach you about things you thought you knew (you didn't). Because matthew cant actually talk, due to all that void, he communicates in a fun mixture of sign language, charades, and various static esc noises. Matthew is also involved, if not running, most water based activities (and sometimes juno+mila helps out around the cabin)

the cafeteria: Mila Alcorn 👁️and Juno Matsouka, 👁️i say "and" instead of giving the two separate descriptions because they are inseparable, trust me, i've tried. these two fish folk work together in the kitchen to provide food for all the campers at camp this and that. Practically gourmet chefs, these two are quite creative. Even though there's two of them, you'll never have to worry about chaos in the kitchen, mila and juno always compromise with each other, causing for some never before tasted flavors

head of camp: Warren Earthman,👁️ he's a, stern, tired, grumpy, old man. also the walls in are covered with different brands and types of chainsaws. beside the threatening aspects of him, he also openly picks favorites and doesn't listen to anything that doesn't openly concern him or the government.

the rot: Sydney October Sargent, a weird rotting man who lives in the woods surrounding the camp. Don't get to close to him without a gas mask, please, the spores that emanate off of him are damn near hallucinogenic. Besides the skin falling off his bones, the various species of bugs living within him, and all the mushrooms/fungus living from his decomposing self, he's almost harmless. I mean, he's in shambles, a corpse who just won't let go, just try not to breathe near him.

Martime: Jedidiah A.M. Martime, a man who keep appearing in my dreams, I don't have dreams often, why is here, in color no less. this annoying, clock obsessed, not even real, man keeps trying to tell me that he's "here for you," and "it's ok, you can take a brake, you have enough time." what that man needs to do is pipe down and accept the fact he doesn't even exist in the physical plane.

- if you’re defining yiddish culture as “ashkenazi jews who speak yiddish” you are still erasing multiple communities of ashkenazi jews. italian ashkenazi jews migrated or fled to northern italy during the middle ages, long before the establishment of the pale of settlement, and have a culture that is distinctly influenced by italian culture, not eastern european culture.

- sounds like you’re outright excluding any group of ashkenazi jews who don’t speak yiddish or live in central or eastern europe. which is literally the reason i started the dialogue in the first place.

anyway, on to my other rant.

if i want to know how to recite a prayer in the ashkenazi rite, i google it. if i want to learn how to speak yiddish, i download duolingo. it’s easy to find these things because people have worked hard to preserve them. and also because ashkenazi jews make up over 60% of the global jewish population and over 70% of the us jewish population.

italian jews, however, including italian ashkenazim, make up 0.4% of the global jewish population. and i couldn’t even find a number for how many of us there are in the us bc there are that few. if i want to know how a certain prayer is chanted in the italian rite, i have to find 70 year old recordings of italian cantors and rabbis singing them for a musicologist who dedicated his life to keeping the italian rite and italki culture alive after it was devastated by the holocaust, bc the only synagogues that still follow the italian rite are in rome and israel. if i want to know how to speak the language my ancestors would have spoken, i have to take a zoom class at oxford at 6am where we study manuscripts from hundreds of years ago. in 1900, there were 20,000 native speakers of judeo-italian dialects. in 2023 there are almost none.

in order to participate in any sort of jewish life where i live, i have to know ashkenazi culture. i have to know the prayers and the songs and the customs. i have to know the food and the language and history.

but y’all don’t have to know mine.

and every time i try to infuse my own heritage into my practice i’m reminded of that. when i make italian jewish food, people don’t see it as “jewish food.” people hear my last name and assume i’m not jewish because it’s not a “jewish name.” when i use italki hebrew, people try to correct me. i frequently encounter other jews who don’t even know italkim exist. so yeah. it is infuriating when i experience constant pressure to assimilate into the dominant jewish culture of where i live only to be a excluded from discussions about that culture because i’m not part of it. i am part of it. i have to be.

ashkenazi culture is beautiful and diverse and i do genuinely enjoy taking part in it. but it is painful to get constant reminders that i don’t really have a choice. it is painful to have people in your own community see your knowledge of their culture as a given but their knowledge of your culture as optional or doing you a favor.

so basically,

you are not being erased by the reminder that jews who are not like you exist.

That one anon was so weird. I think they were referring to you owning “an exotic” (ie your snakes) in the same vein as one would look down their noise (rightfully) at fox or monkey owners. Problem is that the idea that any non domestic animal shouldn’t be kept as a pet is only really true for mammals. No reptiles, fish, or inverts are domestic, and very few birds are, but some of them can still make plenty good pets if you’re committed. I just don’t think anon knew that, and came at you accusatorially as a result.

I hadn't been able to put a finger on why the specific framing of my snakes as "exotics" stuck out to me as weird, but I think you've hit the nail on the head. Lumping all non-domestic animals under the "exotic" umbrella forces snakes (which can be great pets for prepared keepers) into the same category as primates (always bad), and I think you're probably right here that that led to a bit more of an accusatory ask than I generally expect here!

I think you're absolutely right that lumping all "exotic" pets together can easily create confusion as well-meaning people assume all non-domestic animals are unethical pets when that's just not the case.

Hi! I really like your furry aus! They really inspired me to branch out species in my own. I was wondering how you chose such a wide array— I’ve noticed a bias towards mammals in my own, with birds following close behind. Do you have any tips on collecting species & looking for furry symbolism? Thank you!

HI HELLO so i typed out most of an answer to this like a month or two ago then it got deletd and this languished in my askbox since so let me try again and emphasize the stuff that i think is the most important when i'm making my furry aus

biological interest and diversity

i think the biggest thing that gets my goat when i look at other furry aus is the lack of animal diversity. and, i need to be clear here, this is ENTIRELY a personal gripe/preference- it just kind of annoys me when i see furry aus that are entirely familiar, domestic mammals, yknow? where at least half the characters are dogs and cats. like, no shade to people who do or like those, i cannot emphasize enough how this is a meaningless Me pet peeve, i just really really think furries in general should broaden their horizons and try out more out-there species. and i'm not perfect in this way either: there's an OBVIOUS bird bias in my choices, and a MASSIVE tetrapod bias: almost none of my furries are fish or inverts, despite fish species outnumbering tetrapod species, and invertebrate species outnumbering vertebrate species by massive orders of magnitude.

i think my point is: try getting more unconventional with it. i also really like including extinct species because that's just my jam. pterosaurs, man, consider them

i often will do wikipedia trawls for animals when choosing species for furry aus- i'll have a general idea of the animal i want (ie, horsefly, wallaby) and i'll get to peruse the various families/genera/species under those more general umbrellas til i find something that works either visually or symbolically better than the others.

i'll also say that there will often be a very obvious choice for characters- like, spider for annabelle cane, or something. i encourage, in cases like this, don't go with the obvious choice, see if you can find something more subtly meaningful and interesting. (see: a hummingbird for annabelle cane. they steal spiderwebs in order to weave their nests, but can become trapped in the webs instead and get eaten by the spider.) it can also help to actively try and choose animals- like inverts and fish- that don't usually immediately jump to mind for you.

i also highly recommend getting Specific with it. always do your best to choose a Species of animal, rather than a genus, family, or more general group. it's always more interesting.

2. The Process

so very first thing when i'm choosing a species for a characetr is ENTIRELY vibes-based. like what does this character Feel like. sometimes this step is skipped, if there's like, an obvious symbolic or mentioned-in-canon choice that would make more sense (see: condor callum crown). but most of the time for me: Vibes. i'm just gonna list a few of my dialtown furries and my thought process (as i remember it, may be inaccurate) for how i chose them? hopefully that helps a bit.

oliver, to me, feels like a soft and fluffy mammal. he's outgoing, friendly, kind of an in-your-face personality. just feels like a mammal to me! but he's also a complete freak, so i was like, oh, he has to be a marsupial or a monotreme. the Strange mammals! i decided that, from there, he feels most like one of the megapodes (kangaroos, wallabys, those sorts) to me. kangaroos look too scary and imposing, with a frightening Buff Man kind of vibe, so those were out. went to wallabies, because they get that cute fluffy mammal vibe that i wanted for him. i eventually settled on the yellow-footed rock wallaby: they have bold, stripey patterning that i think fits his vibe, and rufous coloration on their limbs that meshes well with his red color palette.

or let's take randy. vibes here were some sort of Trash Animal, those sorts like pigeons and raccoons that adapt well to living in human garbage and most people regard as a nuisance. randy also feels very Birdy to me. from there, i think it was fig who suggested an animal that preys upon swans, and that's really funny. i eventually landed on gulls: some larger gulls will hunt swan chicks, and gulls are a perfect epitome of Trash Animal. i went with the great black-backed gull in particular- randy jade being the biggest, most imposing, apex-predator ass gull is really funny to me. also: i like great black-backed gulls.

karen! she was pretty straightforward for me: karen very much felt like a bug. some sort of insect or arachnid was my starting point: i felt that the Bug Vibes fit her well and that the segmented leg look would work well for her visually. flies are a group i like a lot and felt fit well here- overlooked, often seen as generic or boring (but are actually really cool), and also i like them. and, like, i couldn't resist the pull of Oh She Should Be A Horsefly. She Needs To Be A Horsefly. much like for oliver, the species was chosen for visual reasons: needed to be brown or tan to complement her color scheme, and i didn't want it to be one of the like, larger/scarier horseflies. band-eyed brown horseflies fit her color scheme and are pretty to look at.

that's most of what i've got, i think. sorry for the lateness, hope this can provide some direction.

@miss-galaxy-turtle suggested that that the person we see with the inverted Umbrella tattoo is Viktor, not Klaus as a lot of us assumed, since Viktor being the only sibling with a tattoo is the oppposite of the original tineline where he was the only one without an umbrella tattoo. I've been thinking about this theory so much since. Especially as the teaser poster says 'Viktor taken'.

In the teaser trailer we see Viktor speaking to Reggie in a diner, a scene I saw someone (I forget who I'm sorry!), point out is a parallel to the scene of Viktor and Marcus in season 3 (though thankfully this time there are no terrible wigs involved).

In the scene with Marcus, Viktor tells him that his team is good but not as good as Viktor's and that he ended the world twice. Based on this, Marcus assumes Viktor is Number One and is surprised to find out that he's actually Number Seven.

In what we see of the scene with Reginald in season 4, he says that the siblings bicker all the time and Viktor agrees and says they drive each other crazy but they're there for him when things go to hell. It sounds like he's explaining why he cares about them and why they're in his life.

The teaser trailer opens with the quote from season 1 when Reginald introduces the inaugral class of the Umbrella Academy. He excluded Viktor from that 'class' and tried to control him by making him think he was ordinary and having him take sedatives his entire life. He also made sure his siblings thought less of him so that they would exclude him too. All of which eventually resulted in Viktor causing the apocalypse that Reggie was trying to prevent.

He then, displeased with his children when he meets them in the '60s, chooses to adopt different children instead and forms the Sparrow Academy. They are better trained (their training seems to focus more on honing their abilities rather than manipulating them emotionally to allow better control of them as he did with the Umbrellas) and they are a more successful superhero team but he ends up drugged and controlled by them.

What if, in this new universe Reginald tries to train a team of super heroes again. He tries to learn from his previous failed attempts and so decides to do certain things differently. One of which is, instead of preventing Viktor from using his powers, he decides to train him so he can reach his full potential as the most powerful Umbrella and can lead the team as Number One. Maybe in the the scene at the diner Reginald is telling Viktor he can be Number One, but it means leaving behind his family. Viktor says no and that is why we see Reginsld questioning their relationship in the teaser trailer. It also further fits the idea of the scene being a parallel of the scene in season 3, Marcus thought Viktor should be Number One, Reginald is telling him that he can be Number One.

Then, when Viktor disagrees he is taken against his will by Reginald, which is where the inverted Umbrella tattoo comes in.

I've already talked about what I perceived as signs in the teaser trailer that made me think that Claire, and Lila and Diego's daughter will be taken. And we know from the teaser that the Umbrellas go on a reacue mission but not who they're rescuing. We see Viktor in the van as part of the rescue party. So I think either Viktor escapes (having been tattooed before the eacape), let's his siblings know that Reginald has the kids because he's creating a new, new academy and the rescue mission is to rescue them. Or since the subway system seems to allow travel between timelines (based on the shot of Lila and Five in the apocalypse, something thst doesn't happen in the timeline they're in) Reggie uses that to take another version of Viktor, maybe Viktor as a child, since he can mould him to be the Number One he wants, and they're trying to rescue that Viktor. Or Reggie takes Viktor, to try and understand his plans, Five and Lila use the subway system to cross timelines and find an alternate Viktor who is Number One, either because he took the deal offered in the diner or through some other alternate dimension means and that is who has the inverted Umbrella tattoo, and is who we see in the van with the other umbrellas because he agrees to help them rescue their Viktor.

Cauliflower jellyfish is a pacific jellyfish species found in the Indo-pacific and the Atlantic Oceans. It is a giant old-world water jellyfish with an odd purple umbrella-shaped bell! They are sometimes called crown jellyfish, which may confuse with the completely unrelated Attollas, also called crown jellyfish.

Cauliflower jellyfishes tolerate freezing water and often live in depths over 3000 meters (9842 ft). They mostly live in the Pelagic zone of many oceans and seas. Their diet consists of Algae, shrimp, plankton, fish eggs, and invertebrate larvae.

Description

you usually lived your days floating around the sea and enjoying the currents as you went. you had a large somewhat inverted bell at your hips your tentacles hanging below. you are about 3 feet tall in your mer form, with about 1-foot-long tentacles hanging below you. your skin is a pale semi-translucent purple. You have blue frill-like things on your shoulders. You have short, dark, purple hair and the bell at your hips is a pretty golden/orange color with light blue tentacles hanging below your form.

In your human form, you have fairly pale and near-grey skin, it is a grey-purple color in direct sunlight. Your shoulders are a blue color, almost like they are constantly bruised. you enjoy more flowy, light clothing and wear easy-to-slip-off sandals. You are fairly boneless like other invertebrate merfolk. along your lower legs are lines that mimic your stinging tentacles. your stinging ability is mostly stuck to your legs and feet. so if you ever felt threatened a good kick would have someone doubled over for a few hours.

Azul: didn’t realy pay you much mine since you just wandered around campus like some sort of ghoul. If you were dumb enough to sign any of his contracts he’ll try to have you waiting tables. When someone tried to harass you and you knocked them out with a strong slap kick. You were then just kinda set to wander with light waiting and secondary security when Floyd skips work. After his overblot he’s glad you’re pretty easy going and forgiving.

When he got to see your enemies he definitely saw a nice money opportunity. Your mer form was regal and beautiful! It would be a beautiful display and you could just float around the tank! But if you didn’t want that then he wouldn’t pressure you much. But he does admire your strange beauty and colors. Is anyone tried to make fun of your for looking like a stupid or weird jellyfish rest assured he will defend you.

Jade: was interested by your pale and somewhat deathly complexion. Asked about your health and you just said it was normal. Under the sunlight then it finally clicked what you were. He liked to observe how you were daily relaxed in your way of thinking. Yet wouldn’t hesitate to kick someone and leave them with a painful aching spot. A bit surprised that your stinging venom is only in your legs but can’t help but smirk when you jump kick someone. might ask you to teach him how to use his legs in a similar matter.

When he saw your mer form he chuckled a bit at your odd shaped bell and bright colors. Assured you it’s fine and that you look very pretty in the water like this. Such vibrant colors would make a fine display in t he lounge aquarium. There would be many happy to watch you float around. If you say no he’ll understand though. Just an offer~

Floyd: little anemony! squishy little thing. With a stinging kick. Likes to poke and prod at you since you’re so jelly like. Calls you anemone since you remind him of a darker type of anemone he’s seen. He just giggled when you try to use your stoning kick against him. Demands asks you to teach him how to kick like that. And in turn he teaches you how to squeeze someone.

Ace: teases that you look like the ramshackle ghosts with your pale almost deathly complexion. He likes to poke and prod at you many times during class and when just waking around. He tags along on your wandering so he has an excuse to get away from his regular responsibilities. When he saw your blue shoulders he was a bit conserved. Joking at how clumsy you are. You just remark that those are normal. They don’t hurt and nothing wrong. He likes to look at you in the sunlight since your skin is a pretty purple.

Hair care tips from all over the web and word of mouth

8 months ago I started to lose almost 50% of my hair due to an illness. I’m pleased to say that my hair’s condition currently is probably the best it has ever been. Hence I am going to share all the haircare tips that I have compiled so far. The ones in pink text are the ones that worked for me personally 🩷

My hair profile : oily flaky scalp, straight, low porosity, smooth, small cross section

Inverted head massage 💆‍♀️ - I do this while shampooing and drying, not sure if it increased growth but definitely results in a voluminous look

Avoid hot water for washing🚿 - this is really important but I can’t get myself to do it in the winter 🥶

Hair oiling 🛢️- been doing it all my life but this time I did some research and discovered that it’s not the oil that helps, but the massaging and the stimulating ingredient infused in the oil. I made a diy fenugreek oil and used it twice a week.

Get blood test 🩸- if you notice sudden hair fall with no apparent reason then it’s a good idea to get tested. Since I had been sick so this happened automatically and I have been taking the supplements I require.

Sun protection ☀️ - you can’t really apply sunscreen on your scalp so it’s best to use hats/umbrellas/scarves

Rosemary 🌱 - I used rosemary water and it helped balance oil on my scalp. The compound in rosemary which aids hair growth is oil soluble so you will have to use rosemary oil (mixed with carrier oil) for that purpose. The water isn’t really for growing hair.

Limit heat styling tools 🔥

Use a wide toothed comb 🪮 - I have fine hair so I would always use fine combs as a kid and rip my healthy hair out. Recently got on hair brushes with widely spaced bristles and combing hair has been much more pleasant. Even working with hair tangled by the wind is easier🌬️

Remember, everyone’s hair is unique, so it’s important to find what works best for you. If you’re facing hair loss then take care of your mental health first and be patient as it can take time to improve 🫶

Some additional tips in this image: ⚠️ the first massage tool should not be used on wet hair as it can lead to more damage. Some people use it while shampooing but that’s when our hair is the most fragile. Use it on dry hair or while oiling.

So I just had a storm come through where I live and it was very windy and rainy to the point where I knew I could not use an umbrella. So let’s say Y/N is coming home from work and wants to stay dry so Y/n uses an umbrella even if it’s like 10 steps to the door.

The wind suddenly picks up and inverts the umbrella causing Y/N to fall over because they were holding onto the umbrella for dear life. And because of the grip, Y/N falls over onto the wet ground.

Wanda saw the whole thing because she heard your car pull up and wanted to greet you at the door so when Y/N goes into the house, Wanda is holding back a laugh. Just some fluff all around.

AC: This is literally the one reason why I don’t use umbrella’s & also that where I am from people don’t use them much for some reason! 

If there was anything you hated more it was cold, rainy, and windy weather! The type of weather where it didn't matter how much clothing you wore; you were still freezing. Your nose hurt from being too cold, your fingers felt frozen, and your body shivered. To top it off, it was raining. So like any other normal human, you took an umbrella to work, there was nothing worse than being cold and wet! 

Luckily everything was warm and toasty at work, warm enough for you to take off your sweater and not feel any slight of coldness. You couldn't help but think of the image of Wanda snuggled up on the sofa with a mug of hot coffee keeping her hands warm as she watched her favorite sitcom. The idea made you slightly jealous that you weren't there to cuddle up against her, but it only made you more excited to finish work and get back home. 

Meanwhile, Wanda was doing exactly what you thought she would be doing. Binging one of her favorite sitcoms all warm and cozy. Although she wouldn't wait for you to come home, she loved cooking for you and greeting you with kisses as you walked through the door. If she was going on a mission or at work herself, she always made sure there were frozen leftovers that you could defrost, of course you could cook your own meals, but it was just something Wanda loved to do for you. 

With it being extremely cold today, Wanda thought of making a nice hot stew and had been cooking it in the slow cooker all day so it would be ready for when you got home. She got excited when she heard your car pull up in the driveway, she peeped out the window and watched as you prepared yourself to get out of the car. The wind picked up throughout the day making it a lot windier than this morning when you left for work. Wanda smiled softly to herself when she saw you grab the umbrella from the passenger seat beside you. 

"Oh baby, I wouldn't" she spoke to herself as she was now unable to step away from the window. As you opened the door you popped open your umbrella even though the front door was only a few short steps from the car, you didn't want to get wet from the endless pouring of rain. Wanda shook her head with a soft smile as she watched you get out and lock the car just as the wind picked up. 

You tried for dear life to hold onto the umbrella with your knuckles turning white as the wind gushed through causing your umbrella to become inverted! You were so focused on not losing the umbrella that the wind was strong enough to push you down with its harsh speed. Wanda pressed her lips together as she watched everything unfold from the window, trying her best not to burst out laughing as you picked yourself up from the cold, wet ground. You got up and brushed yourself off with a sigh before you made your way to the front door. 

Wanda quickly rushed back to the sofa just before you could notice her watching from the window, she threw the throw blanket over her legs and pressed un-paused her sitcom. The smell of dinner rushed through your nose the moment you opened the door, Wanda sat with an amused look on her face as you looked of at her in defeat.

"Hi baby, how are was your day?" Wanda asked, trying to hide her growing smile. 

"It was fine, glad to be home though! Something smells good" you replied while you fixed the umbrella. "I thought you'd like some warm stew tonight" Wanda chuckled, causing you to look over to her. "Why are you laughing?" you asked with a raised brow before it hit you, 

"Oh no! you saw that?! Outside? I fell, oh my god!" 

"I'm sorry honey!! I tried not to laugh but it was just too funny, please forgive me!!" She stood up from the sofa with a failed attempt to hide her guilty smile. "Did you hurt yourself? I'll kiss it better" she added as she walked over to you and helped take off your coat. "I'll think on it" you pouted when she wrapped her arms around you and pulled you closer to her. Her big green eyes were something you'd never not find yourself getting lost in. 

"Come on, lovebug, it seems like today was a bit rough. Do you want a bath?" she asked while looking into your eyes. "I hate this weather" you mumbled in reply. 

"It was pretty cold today"

"Oh please, I bet you were snuggled up on the sofa with your sitcoms and warm coffee" you chuckled as your eyes traveled over to the TV that was still playing her sitcom. "But I was still cold, you weren't here to keep me warm" she pulled you a little closer, "I missed you and with you, everything is warmer, better because I get to hold you" she added before kissing you softly. 

"I'll let you off the hook if you do that again" you smiled against her lips before Wanda kissed you again, this time for longer and deeper. "A bath together would be really good actually" you looked at her, Wanda nodded, "I'll turn the slow cooker off" she pecked your check with another kiss.

San Chart Analysis: in the weeds edition

lunar nodes, degrees, fixed stars, final dispositors, basically all kind of deeper cuts.

i think when you only look at the planet in its sign it can really be misleading--it's like a cookbook. sugar in one dish will be completely different than sugar in something else. sure some people might have the energy of a sign expressed typically, but depending on placement, degree, interaction with other planets, that can manifest insanely differently. so that's why i'm not that interested in just planet/sign analysis!

just gotta start off with the topical. people usually get virgo risings wrong imo--this doesn't add to his rigidity at all, although it does usually make him a little bit like anxious and self-critical. any mercury ruled rising (gemini or virgo, both mutable signs) makes you twisty-turny with a lot of interesting and weird thoughts. some of the weirdest people i know are virgo rising (huge compliment).

lunar nodes--his south node is in aquarius the fifth house, north node in leo in the 11th. interestingly, this is the same placement as wooyoung (definitely same signs, most likely the same houses too).

your south node is your foundational stuff, often past life assumptions, basically it's the soup from whence you came. you are comfortable here but it's not good for you to stay there. some charts don't even label this which is crazy but it's just opposite the north node. if it is labelled it looks like this: ☋

your goal/life path is your north node--you gotta grow this way to learn your soul's lessons. this one is what looks like an umbrella: ☊

VERY IMPORTANT: the lunar nodes are the arc of the moon. you cannot have one without the other. both of them are important and both of them can hold past life assumptions and both of them could teach you soul lessons. each node just leans one direction more than the other most of the time.

fifth house south node is a childlike person, highly romantic, kind of a pure person who desperately wants to be loved but constantly wants to sort of martyr themselves for no damn reason. they need to be less romantic and more objective, to think about the group and more universal concepts, basically to detach a bit and stop being so dramatic.

the aquarius-leo 5th-11th partnership is the same energy but inverted, which is really interesting. the 5th house is the "leo" house and the 11th house is the "aquarius" house, but the way leo expresses itself and the 5th house does is a little different. so it's almost like leo-aquarius versus aquarius-leo. whenever an energy in emphasized like this it's going to be extra essential to a person's life and personality.

the 11th house north node says it's time to think less about yourself and more about the community, and develop more of a personal philosophy. the leo north node is about the will and learning to be strong in yourself and celebrate/express yourself.

the 5th house south node says that his comfort zone is in childlike creativity, self-expression, romance, but also sort of too self-focused, it's all about me (and not just good things are my fault, everything bad is also my fault). the aquarius south node shows a desperate social need, but also feeling really lonely and isolated at times.

like an aquarius, this person will be individualistic and iconoclastic, to the point of rubbing people the wrong way sometimes. they're deeply fair and interested in change, possibilities. but there's that air sign flightiness--a detachment from the world, extremely future focused--always looking ahead. they want to stand tall and not be ridiculed for their beliefs--but they always kind of feel worried that they will be ridiculed for being themselves, so they're preemptively defensive.

i can see how san and wooyoung may have recognized this similar past life/foundational self quality in each other--romantic, idealistic, different and trying so hard to be confident about being different, sort of playing confident and almost aggressive about their individuality despite their intense vulnerability about it, desperately wanting to be loved and so easily feeling lonely or misunderstood.

chart energy can be channelled through the north node in the 11th house--community, societal change, thinking of life from an "us" perspective. the nodes are never about leaving the south node totally, but rather balancing the heavier south node with the north node, so the south node is still important. san still has the past life need for originality and freedom in the fifth house--creativity, passion, joy, love, children.

hilariously, his lunar nodes are basically saying "don't show off too much or always try to be the center of attention, beware of getting too much recognition and admiration, also you need to be the center of attention and express your creativity and receive recognition and admiration." a fine line!

the crux is the balance between belonging to a group and expressing his own identity, of having a healthy ego without a... too healthy ego. if he's not careful, san can truly think he is the center of the world--again, all about me in many ways, including EVERYTHING that has EVER GONE WRONG is because of ME and it's MY FAULT!!!! because of my INHERENT BADNESS!! he has to learn to forgive himself and understand that the world is big, and he's just one person.

his astrology is so weird and interesting. he's a complex person with a lot of contrasting energies. he's simultaneously

very emotional and almost childlike in a way

constantly doing a bit of a subconscious power struggle with everyone around him despite feeling like he is actually the vulnerable player, even if he actually isn't

uranus conjunct his south node/opposite north node--he already felt different as a child, probably experienced a changing childhood environment in some way. can be rebellious for no particular reason and feel trapped, which people don't always understand. san's "comfort zone" or past life foundational beliefs about himself and the world are changeable, with bursts of energy, creative, different, iconoclastic. people don't understand his motivations a lot of the time (thinking about hongjoong not understanding san's motives lmao).

saturn forms an exact square to his nodes, so it's the base of a t-square--the theory here is usually that the discomfort between the two sides was so strong that it forced him to make a fresh start through the point of the t-square, saturn in the 9th house of independent thought and ideas. saturn is the big player in this negotiation: it can lead him out of old thinking or keep him there. he has high standards, ambitions, a huge work ethic but also a sense of constraint or restriction which keeps him from freely changing and growing. it's like being anchored in tradition, kind of, but in the 9th house of personal philosophy or belief san really genuinely believes all of it, which makes the social conditioning harder to shake. it gives him a rigidity, especially with saturn square uranus. he probably adheres to traditional societal ideals too much, even subconsciously, despite being a rebellious person in many ways--and this holds him back a lot.

another big player is mars, who is at home in scorpio (traditional rulership). this is his final dispositor--basically his chart "big boss". his other big boss is uranus, at home in aquarius for modern rulership--i usually tend to place this a bit below traditional rulership but i think it's still influential. his chart ruler is still mercury, but everything sort of acts through mars. he's mars dominant (traditional astrology) also, with majority fire and fixed placements, which gives him a taurus flavor or vibe.

venus is 1 degree conjunct to regulus, one of the 4 royal fixed stars--regulus is "heart of the lion", and usually indicates fame, success, glory, but also possible or probable big falls. big ego takes a tumble is a cycle he will see in his life a bunch of times, probably.

one point about his sun--people see cancer and think ah, water sign, maternal, emotional, and yeah, sure, in a way, but crabs have claws and a hard shell. cancers are not wishy-washy, at all. they're a cardinal sign--a starter sign, an act first sign. he's also in the second decan, which is a moon-mercury decan, adding more weight to the mercury energy. it can also be really weird-feeling to have the sun in cancer, who represents the moon. similar to having a leo moon, it's an inherently confusing dynamic.

so san's major players are, in my subjective order of influence:

1. the leo-aquarius axis. an intense amount of his life bounces between these two points--self-expression/ego and community, cool detachment and dramatic romance, loving being different and hating being different. aquarius and leo both have a lot of points/planets, and so does the 11th house and, to a lesser extent, the 5th house. this energy is very strong for him. 1. mars (in rulership, at 1 which is a mars/aries degree). san's gonna express a lot of things through action. he's a pretty intense guy, passionate, when he gets angry it's a real event and a half. never backs down. 2. uranus (in modern rulership in aquarius). i would have put uranus further down the list except it has by far the most aspects (conversations w other planets) both by number and by important type. uranus has its fingers in almost everything in san's chart! he is different than other people and can tell that he is different, he wants to break free from established societal conditioning (although finds this difficult due to saturn's influence) and feels almost detached at times. tbh he has some past life stuff weighing him down that expresses unconsciously a lot of the time--you know when you have a strong as fuck reaction to something minor for no obvious reason? like that. 3. mercury (rules ascendant). he's chatty, curious, changeable, interested in the world. mercury is in leo so this is expressed in a fun, bright, creative way. with his virgo ascendant, his curiosity and interest is often pretty, like. picky. discerning. yes to this no to this. detail-oriented. pretty judgmental, god i bet he's awesome to gossip with. "hey can i be a bitch for a second" like hell yes bro. still it's not even personal like he'll say something bitchy, truly not mean it in a mean way, and somehow maintain a kind of pure heart? weird!! fascinating!!

4. pluto (conjunct IC w 5 degree orb) -- IC is the hidden self, the at-home deep foundational self, it's qualities you don't show to other people often but are deeply felt. the IC may or may not be very important, but if a planet is conjunct the IC it becomes pretty foundational, even if you aren't fully aware of it. pluto (transformation, intensity, power and power struggles) is essential to san's personality. he is probably very possessive, power is extremely important to him (although it is most likely subconscious) and he is certainly not afraid of diving deep or getting intense very fast. 5. moon (rules the sun, at highest point on his chart) -- people see san's moon--it's only 8 degrees away from his MC (public self in gemini, he is known for duality, etc) and it rules his sun in cancer. people notice his vulnerability, compassion, deep feelings, the complicated ups and downs that he truly cannot keep off of his face. it's also in gemini, so changeability is king. even though it's the most visible, though, it is not the most influential. people notice and see his moon or emotions/personality/self but most of the time they do not notice his pluto (intensity, power struggles) which is actually more influential. 6. sun --i tend to think that a planet who is kind of uncomfortable adds influence just like a planet that is comfortable. san's deeply felt emotions, shell and snap snap claws are also a bigger player. he also has a hefty amount of leo energy, which makes the sun more important.

he really is a fairly complex person. he's gonna have to negotiate with a lot of conflicting energy throughout his life, and his gemini qualities mean that he'll often bounce between extremes. it's cool to see how important self-expression, creativity, individuality, etc, are to him--very fitting for a performer. so interesting how his performance quality really shows a lot of his actual personality/"soul journey" if u excuse the cheesy phrasing--truly can't think of another way to explain the vibe.
