#random personal stuff #pointless personal story ahead #when I was sixteen we had an ancient computer known derogatorily as Myrtle the Turtle #it was a PAIN doing anything on it #everything took forever #and when you've got a parentally-mandated mere forty-five minutes of internet time a day this is frustrating #I was very annoyed about this one evening #pacing in and out of the computer room ranting to my siblings while waiting for something to load #finally I had had it and sat down hard on the wooden arm of the futon in the main basement room #except I misjudged the location of the arm #and landed on the pointed corner #it hurt. a lot.#stupidity hurt too #we never had it looked at because I guess it was concluded that nothing much could be done about it?#but it hurt for a long time #that was nearly half my life ago #and it STILL comes back periodically to be annoying - namely this week #it's not horrible but it would be nice if the Follies of My Youth could finally determine that I have Learned My Lesson and leave me alone #(I have in fact learned nothing about not getting carried away with angry rants but the pain doesn't need to know that)

At least not yet #She did start doing the dishes unprompted and continues to do so (mostly out of fear). Croc told her she didn't have to but allows it #IDK a lot of people seem to headcanon Crocodile as incapable of cooking and like. Surely Mr ''I don't trust people'' knows how to cook #Like he doesn't have to be a master chef or anything but and maybe he enjoys not HAVING to cook (pain in the ass with one hand + knife/hook #But surely he can cook decent enough. The biggest misconception in the bsd fandom ever to me is people constantly portraying Atsushi as someone who trauma dumps excessively when he canonically barely talks about it at all.

The entire point is that Atsushi does not talk about his trauma he’s just constantly thinking about/reliving it. He can’t escape the memories of his past so he tries not to acknowledge them.

He only mentions it when asked, either directly or when someone asks him to explain himself.

Atsushi doesn’t even give a cohesive explanation for what he saw while under Dogra Magra, he just apologizes to Haruno and Naomi.

If Lucy hadn’t had her whole “you’ve never suffered the way I have” spiel then I doubt even the audience would’ve gotten to find out about his scars

If Akutagawa never asked him how it felt for the orphanage headmaster to die Atsushi would have never told him that he’s been hallucinating.

In the omake where Kyoka asks him why his hair is like that it’s clear he wouldn’t have told her that unless she had asked.

In 55 minutes Atsushi very briefly mentions sleeping on a dirty floor somewhere to Kunikida because he was trying to explain and justify his behavior.

And the thing is that there are scenes that implies that the other characters see Atsushi behaving strangely and are visibly confused because they do not understand what’s wrong with him.

Remember, we as an audience get to see things about characters that the main cast doesn’t. Just because we see into Atsushi’s mind doesn’t mean the other characters know what’s going on in there.

Also little footnote here that I think this is a reference to the moon over the mountain but I digress

I have to go to school/work just as much as anyone else does, the difference is that I physically can't. Not having the same choice as abled people does not make me lucky. Staying at home because I can't go to school or work does not mean I get to do whatever I want. Staying at home every day without being able to do anything is not fun. Not being able to do anything but lay down in bed or on the couch gets boring really fast. That's not even taking the chronic pain I endure into account.

Being chronically ill is not being lazy. It's not a choice, or something anyone would choose. It's a disability.
