Right now Buck has just gotten off shift and he walks into Tommy’s house (he has a key) and finds Tommy sitting on the couch watching the news or something. Tommy sees his exhausted expression and immediately opens his arms wide and Buck just slumps into his lap and burrows his face into Tommy’s neck letting his presence comfort him. Tommy lets out a loud oomf and the action because Buck is, well, a large man but he holds him close and kisses his curls.

What drives me even more insane about this scene is how you'd expect Gojo to imagine High school era! Geto in the crowd. Or at least not the cult leader, worst of all the curse users Geto Suguru. But no, it's the cult leader Geto. It's Geto as Gojo last remembered him. As Geto last was. Whatever choices Geto made, wherever his choices led him and them, however he was, whoever he was, traumas and messed up ideas and bad choices and ill reputations and scorns and all. Gojo wanted Geto Suguru there. Not any ideal version. Not any "what if" version. Not any "at some point in time before things went downhill" version. Not any "when your hands weren't stained with innocent blood" version. He knew very well what he wanted. And he wanted it all the same. He wanted Geto Suguru. However he was. He just wanted him to be there. He just wanted him to be.

And he didn't want him to help him, he didn't want him to fight with him even if they were strongest together and always fought together for a while. He just wanted him to be there in the crowd and cheer him on. He just wanted him to stand there and give him one of his sweet, heartwarming smiles that shaped his eyes into crescent moons. He just wanted him to be. Then even if Gojo had died in the end anyway, he would have been satisfied. It would have been worth it. Only if Geto was there.

Right now the team are having a BBQ and everyone is invited of course. Tommy and Buck aren’t even being overly affectionate at first glance but when the team look closer they notice all the little things.

They see their casual touches as they pass each other, each one lingering for a moment whilst the other relaxes into the touch. They see the way Tommy smiles, his eyes never leaving Buck as Buck rambles about one thing or another. They notice how as the night progresses the men get closer and closer together, Buck resting his head on Tommy’s shoulder even as he continues to rant about his latest deep dive, gesticulating wildly, Tommy just wraps an arm around his waist and listens.

They notice how when they’re apart Buck’s eyes will flick around until he sees Tommy and somehow they’ll both look up and smile each other, a faint blush dusting over Buck’s cheeks everytime. They see how Buck goes to get himself a drink and brings one for Tommy too, who will greet him with a chaste and oh so domestic kiss before returning to whatever conversation he’s having.

They just fit together so well that everyone can see how happy they are and how right they are.

(Hen starts a bet for wedding dates before the night is through.)
