The Princess of Sarasaland
Luigi curled into a ball and cry. Why? Why was this happening? What did he do to deserve this? He always thought he was a good person or at least good enough. Sure he was cowardly and could be scared of his own shadow but was that the worst thing to be? Did he really deserve this? Being locked in a cage by some evil turtle-dragon trying to conquer the world after it threatened his brother, hanging above certain fiery death! Luigi couldn’t really believe that was good karma!
Oh, Mario where are you!
Wait, Mario! Was he okay?!
This is where he landed...so where in God’s name did Mario land?! Was he okay? Was he already dead!?
Luigi started to heavily breathe as every horrific scenario started flooding his mind.
No. No. NO!
This was Mario and Mario was a lot braver than he was. He’d be fine but Luigi had to get out of this some way and warn him!
But how?!
As Luigi wondered about this, he began to hear the clashing and clanking of chains. He tried to ignore it. Tried to tune it out but it became so loud that it became impossible to do so.
He went to the other side of his cage to tell them to knock it off so he could think when he saw something he didn’t expect to see. Another human! Or at least close to human as they could be!
Luigi almost cried with relief. Finally, something he knew. Someone who looked almost normal! In this strange world full of evil turtle-dragons, walking talking penguins, and death loving stars, there was someone who might be able to understand him!
He tried to get a better look to see the other human was a woman around his age with auburn colored hair cut around her shoulders with tanned skin and deep bluish-green eyes that kind of reminded Luigi of the ocean. Strangely though she was wearing a bright yellow dress with orange, white, and gold embroidery with white gloves on her hands that were currently fiddling with the lock of her cage. She looked like a princess. Wait a princess? Well, if all those walking, talking animals can exist then a human princess should be the most normal thing he’s seen today.
Carefully, Luigi maneuvered over to face the Penguin King before loudly saying, “Whose she?”
It took a moment for the Penguin King to realize he was being talked to before seeing Luigi pointing at the girl’s cage. “Her? She’s the Princess of Sarasaland.”
So, she was a princess. Sarasaland? What kind of place was that?
“She surrendered herself,” the talking star said from behind. “Bowser was going to turn her entire kingdom to ash but she came along and chose to surrender instead of letting her people fight to the death,” it continued creepily.
“A truly cowardly act if you ask me,” the Penguin King commented. “A true ruler would’ve died on the front line with their people instead of wasting away in a cage.”
Luigi glared at this statement. What was cowardly about surrendering for other people’s lives? Especially coming from the Penguin King who was locked in here with all of his people.
A loud click resounded throughout the room and Luigi looked back to see it was the princess who had managed to get her cage door open. He then watched as grabbed onto the bars and used them to pull herself onto the top of her cage and then towards the chain where she was about to climb up.
“Hey! Wait!” Luigi found himself, crying out. “Let me out too!” If she got herself out maybe she could get him out!
These hopes were quickly dashed when the princess loudly cried “No way!”
“Why not!?” Luigi indignantly cried back.
“Because you’ll just get in my way,” she cried back as she started to climb. Darnit. If she leaves then there goes his only way out of this nightmare.
“Wait! Please!” Luigi begged. “That thing is trying to kill Mario!”
This made her pause before looking back, “Who’s Mario?
Luigi looked up at to see she stopped, before saying, “He’s my brother and I’d do anything to help my brother.” And Luigi truly meant it. Famiglia venire attraverso l'uno per l'altro was something their mama drilled into their heads from the time they were just little bambini and they’ve held true to that ever since.
Luigi looked up to see the princess just hung there from the chain before looking back with an unreadable expression. He almost thought she was on the verge of just leaving him there thinking he’s not worth the trouble. Most people would come to that conclusion. Most people did.
He looked back up. The princess was gone.
Did she leave- He felt his cage shake. What the- He looked over to see it was the princess now hanging from the bars of his cage while fumbling with the oversized lock and a flower-shaped hairpin.
“Come on,” she said as she tried to pick the lock.
“You’re freeing me?” Luigi asked shock.
“Yeah. Don’t make me regret it,” she said as the lock came loose before tossed it into the fiery lake of death.
“Grazie,” Luigi thanked her. “What’s your name?”
She looked up at him for a moment with a look of clear shock, “Er...Daisy. Daisy of Sarasaland.”

unrelated to like. Literally Everything on this blog (except warrior cats)... the Daisy flirting with Cloudtail bit was. Weird! But I wonder if that was the norm for farm cats, or at least Daisy thought it was? Since Smokey seemed to be mates with both her and Floss, even though it wasn't a fair relationship
agree, definitely wasn't crazy about that plotline. it really did feel like they just don't want to do anything with brightheart outside of cloudtail sometimes, a love triangle/jealousy thing was very unnecessary.
I do like the idea of it being a norm for other cats! i mean, cats are polygamous so maybe the clan cats are the outliers in this. Plenty of social reasons that the erins don't care about as to why the Clans might socially enforce monogamy.

lonely hearts club [epilogue]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: non-idol!wonwoo x chubby!fem!reader
word count: 1.3k~
warnings: slightly suggestive joke and slight allusion to a sexual relationship ahead.
daisy’s notes: thanks for taking this journey with me. reader’s body type wasn’t as vital to this plotline as i would normally make it (in another world where i write this as an original story, there’d be a bit more talk) but it’s still important to me that mc is a canonically chubby woman. sorry to anyone that excludes, but i like writing stories for people like me sometimes. i think its important to feel represented in body type too.
(also im posting this now because im gonna take a final immediately after, so accept my prewritten notes there lol)
summary: With graduation gone by, you and Wonwoo share a rare morning together.
< prev || masterlist ||
Tumblr media
Graduation felt like a dream, and the morning after it felt like the past four years had been a long period of sleep you were finally waking up from. People told you that high school felt that way, and it did. But college had been touted as the “best years of your life” (bullshit, honestly--there were good parts, but any year had the capacity to be “the best”), so that feeling had been... surprising. A welcome one, to be sure, but you hadn’t expected it. It meant you had to start figuring some things out for yourself, though. For the time being, you kept your job at the coffee shop. You worked more hours, sure, but the pay was fine for now. Wonwoo had been accepted into a graduate program for literature and he seemed excited about it, happy to keep studying what he was. His goal was to get a job in editing (something that was easier to get work in if he had a master’s rather than just his bachelor’s) one day. It’d keep him reading and he liked the idea of helping people pursue publishing if he could. You were happy where you were. Maybe grad school would be on your horizon, but you were young. You still had time to figure things out.
Like Wonwoo. You’d asked him out on a date officially not long after that night together, your label still up in the air. It’d been right before finals week, actually, and the two of you had blew off steam through going back to that same arcade where Wonwoo had to stop you from spending all your money trying to win him something from that claw machine. You realized then how some people looked at Wonwoo and saw someone cold when he wasn’t always smiling. You’d never seen it. Wonwoo had always been the smart, nice guy in your literature classes who was intimating at one point just because he seemed to tower over a lot of people. If anything, you were actually more intimidated by Minghao (who you came to learn could be just as soft as every single one of Wonwoo’s friends). But dating Wonwoo destroyed any perception that he was cold. You saw love in the way he would subtly check in on his friends, in the way he left you alone sometimes in his bed because of a late night emergency with one of them (always pressing a kiss onto your cheek with a promise to be back soon), int he patient way he taught Soonyoung how to play video games when he was always particularly bad at them. You saw it in the way he looked at you (and, fuck, Jiyoung had been right about how soft he was for you--even if you had denied it before), or the way he’d pull you closer to his side when you spent the night with him. All he wanted to do was hold you in his arms, softness and all, and keep you close. Sometimes he’d press gentle kisses into your neck and onto your cheeks when he came up behind you, arms wrapping around your plump figure.
Wonwoo wasn’t huge on skinship in public, but you liked the way he’d always take your hand just to make sure you were tethered to him. It was his way of showing off the fact you were his and he was yours, completely, without getting show-y with it. It was the little things like keeping an arm draped around the back of your chair sometimes, or gently reaching over to squeeze your thigh reassuringly when you needed it. Wonwoo once told you that no one ever flirted with him save for once or twice before (both of his previous relationships, according to him), which you soon learned was a goddamn lie because you’d left his side before and returned to see someone obviously flirting with him. He never looked uncomfortable, but always nonreciprocating (you realized after the first few times he just didn’t seem to notice as he kept a look out for you). The moment he saw you again that was enough to put an end to the other person’s actions. You’d seen more embarrassed faces than scorn when people realized they were flirting with someone in a relationship when you came back over to him.
It wasn’t exactly their fault though. Wonwoo only had eyes for you. Unless people were incredibly direct with flirting (asking for his number or if he was available was the quickest way for him to realize what was going on and shut it down), it’d go completely over his head. Like he couldn’t fathom anyone seeing him and not realizing that he loved you, especially when you were right there by his side.
Beside you, Wonwoo stretched slightly, tangling his legs with your own. He’d pulled you close at some point during the night after you crashed at his place. His glasses were still neatly set aside on the nightstand, but he was looking at you again. You understood what Jiyoung said when he always “had heart eyes” when he looked at you. It was the most tender expression that alone could soothe any insecurities you had about Wonwoo loving you. The AC buzzed in the background, keeping the room cold enough that the two of you could continue to cuddle despite the summer heat outside. Both of you could smell Mingyu making breakfast. He’d likely seen your shoes abandoned in the entryway when he got up--Wonwoo had told you once that Mingyu started looking ever since the first time you ended up crashing with him for the night. It gave him a way to take care of both of you. It was sweet how much his friends cared for you. Jihoon’s partner once told you that while they’d been friends with them all beforehand, dating Jihoon seemed to make everyone put an extra little bit of care toward them. Like they had to love them a little extra just because Jihoon did. Mingyu said it was payment in kind for taking care of Wonwoo.
You’d happily do it even if his friends weren’t sweet toward you (save for the teasing that was occasionally thrown your way--teasing everyone would receive in turn). Wonwoo took care of you when he could, and you loved doing the same.
Wonwoo reached out, gently caressing your face before nudging you to move forward. His lips slanted against yours in a sleepy kiss, eyes fluttered shut for just a moment. If your weight was crushing him at all, he said nothing (he’d once told you that was actual ideal, and you’d smacked his arm while your face was burning, but you liked the way he’d laughed before he came back in to kiss you). His fingers grazed the side of your face, other hand sliding up your back. Intentional or not, the motion dragged your shirt up with it. But then he let go, no question of this going any further. Which was fine with you: your relationship didn’t need to go that far. You were just fine sharing these moments with him as they were, sleepy and in love.
Wonwoo waited until you settled back into his side, head on his chest as you wrapped your arms around him. He stared up at the ceiling. He said your name for once, nickname abandoned in order to get your full attention. “I love you,” he whispered, hand finding your own.
He hadn’t said it yet. Neither had you.
Wonwoo pulled your hand up to his lips, pressing a kiss against your knuckles. “I’m glad I managed to get closer.”
You hummed in contentment, eyes fluttering shut as you listened to his heartbeat through the thin fabric of his shirt. The love he had for you was something he nurtured and let blossom. You did the same. “I love you, too.”
Maybe you were a little right when you said that falling in love was a good part...
... But being? Being was so, so much better.

just finished watching Daisy jones and the Six and now I’m rethinking that six of crows band au idea 👀 exactly who might be interested in perhaps a djats-style layout/plotline/setting? So it’d be the same in the way where the crows would have been a band in the seventies reflecting on their time in a book/interview format in the future, except the individual plots and characters would be soc ones refitted to the setting

So- hope I'm doing this right 😅 first off, I just found your stories and I already love them
For a fic idea, how about after a while of living with Darius, Hunter accidently calls him "dad", which causes a freakout because the only family he's ever had was his uncle who pretty much traumatized him? Not only is he afraid because he's not sure if Darius even sees him that way, but also because what if Darius ends up like his uncle? And then Darius comforts and assures him its alright (just hurt/comfort and cuddles if possible?) because we stan Darius
I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, I just got this idea and had to ask before I forget 😅
Hunter calls Darius dad and promptly panics
This was already being written for the plotline so it doesn't follow exactlly the ask but yeah!!!!! oopsie daisy dad

my predictions for what stories I'll write inspired by maisie peters' second album
**based on titles (and brief clips)
Also, I am not including the three songs that have already been released because those would be spoilers.
If y'all like this one, let me know and I'll make one for my predictions for the next Hozier album because I have thoughts (and I've been hiding my Eat Your Young idea for fucking ages and I need something to keep me from spoiling it).
---------
The Good Witch
I am leaning towards something Doctor Who related. Whether it's the Doctor or a companion is a decision that I haven't made yet. Granted, this whole idea is based on the two lyrics that we got to hear, so that might change.
2. Coming of Age
Maisie described this as being about redefining your own role in your narrative. The snippets did not give much, but the tarot card showed "if it was a first kiss, how come it felt like a snake bite?" For that reason, I am leaning toward some kind of villain/manipulation story with the reader getting revenge. Or the hero getting revenge on the reader??? Maybe??? Just to be quirky??? I'm not sure.
3. Watch
Maisie again gave us much more info with this song. To quote: "I wrote this song about watching someone forget about my existence at lightning speed. I usually try to use my own interpretations without letting the singer's intention interfere too much, but when I don't have a song to interpret, I take what I can get. Personally, something like Daisy Jones & the Six would fit this kind of story really well. Leaning towards Billy because I really wanna slander that man but might go with Graham. One of the two. Or even Daisy, honestly.
4. Want You Back
There are a million and one characters that this could be about. I might take this as a chance to write about a show/movie that I've never written about or haven't written about in a long time. Probably something relating to an Andrew Garfield character. That's my best guess right now.
5. The Band and I
Titans or Legends of Tomorrow or something in that vein. Something about a group holding onto each other for dear life. Grumpiness and love and admiration and badassary. That's what this story will give off... I hope.
6. You're Just a Boy (and I'm Kinda the Man)
I want this to be about a guy that feels larger than life to the point that he gets completely overwhelmed when the person he claimed to love outshines him in every way possible. Again, a couple of ways this could go. Leaning towards Daisy Jones & the Six because- again- I am desperate to humble Billy Dunne.
7. Wendy
I could just go back to my roots and use the Peter Pan-influenced song to write about Peter Pan, but OUAT is a show I kinda swore off of after I left Wattpad. So... I don't know where that leaves me. I do want to lean into the magic idea in a more literal sense though. I have a couple of ideas but nothing super concrete.
8. Run
Maisie described this track as being one for the girls who have quite simply had enough. I'm calling for a story set in some kind of battle. Revenge plotline. Girl gang (with my typical gender-neutral reader). Honestly, probably something like Shadow & Bone.
9. BSC
I'm thinking this will be a story of someone trying to win someone else back and ends up getting the most unhinged rant in response. I don't have a character in mind for it yet, but that story is probably pretty set in stone if this song is what I think it's going to be.
**The last three are really difficult because we have gotten no information about them. None. I'm working off of titles. This post was written on 5.26.2023. I'm just making assumptions.**
10. Therapy
This song is gonna go in one of two ways:
The first is absolutely fucking heartbreaking. Coping with pain or loss or personal issues. And I will make my fucking mission to drag you all down with me.
The second is absolutely pissed and this song being therapy in a angry cathartic sense or being about how a man needs to get therapy. In that case, I will humble somebody. It'll probably be Supernatural or House MD or any other show with a man that I can tear into pieces.
11. There It Goes
Break-up song?? Love song?? I don't know. This song is one of few where I genuinely have no idea what I would write. I don't have a single guess. I'm sorry.
12. History of Man
This feels like either a super angry song, a super empowering song, or both. And the character chosen will depend on that distinction. I personally think it'll be a supervillain origin story or just a really badass hero with men just getting in the damn way. So... probably DC related.
**Love you, Maisie... if you see this... if you're on tumblr. Not gonna lie, that thought kinda scares me.**

ctommy + 😇 a headcanon about their religion/lack thereof (or any character if you dont wanna do dsmp/ctommy)
oh my god yes oh a hundred percent yes, i can talk about ctommy religion (and dsmp religion in general) FOR DAYS!!!!
okay so to start a bit of backstory, about me and my ideas around dsmp religion, in january i started writing a pre SMP, cannon? what cannon?, c!dnf religion fic..... theres no punchline that is just something that i wrote in january 2022. i didnt finish it, nor did i get a chapter done enough to publish but i planned out the whole fic and i spent HOURS thinking about dsmp religion, and yes that included tommy.
so very early on i established what religion on the smp looked like, it was modeled after the denomination i grew up in in terms of "progressiveness" aka matching the smps established homonormativity, as well as the ideals that i grew up with being normal in terms of a "good congregation" (emphasis on children, and teaching them, it sounds weird its not weird it links back to jesus and his preachings about the importance of children in congregations) MIXED with a more anglican british/english canadian countryside parrish cerca 1910 in terms of visuals and community. the parish being the center of the social scene, hosting both religious as well as legal and social functions, and a widdle bit of catholicism to add a little bit of spice, i also established that my version of church prime worshiped dreamDX (it links back to the plotline, basically george was having dreams where he was being confronted by dxd to "save prime" from eret, who was under a funky herobrine spell and was trying to end life as they knew it)
alright! i think that a good primer on my idea of dsmp religion, basically its progressive protestant christianity but with a rural and nostalgic feeling in terms of what church was.
okay so here in all of its glory is what i wrote for ctommy in my notes doc for this now abandoned fic....
Tommy is like 8 and is a karen of the primble, he is church primes youngest and most prolific devotees, he can often be found around in the holy-land with tubbo or ranboo making daisy chains or spying on Eret and her herobrine shenanigans.
because it was precanon i aged down tommy tubbo and ran, but i knew that i needed one of them to be very devote to make the social and political ramifications of the plot (dream was gonna be all torn up about his faith when george opened upto him about his dream of dxd) seem real, its very hard for adult religious characters to come across as genuine without becoming cardboard standees of XYZ religion stereotypes, but with kids (imho) you can make them and their beliefs more believable and translatable to an audience without falling into these stereotypes.
of the small amount of the fic that i wrote it actualy featured more tubbo then tommy (tubbo runs into foolish and gets a bump on the head before church and it hurts not just because foolish is made of gold but because tubbo has little baby horn buds growing in, this scene just sets up doctor ponk for background samponk/foolponk/samfoolish, oh and yeah foolish is the decon, and dream is the minister) but i did give tommy tiny bit of characterization writing simply
“It made a clanging noise” Tommy the most devoted of the three adds.*
*the thing that made a clanging noise was tubbo running into foolish
after dream takes a look at tubbo's injury this little bit happens (and its my favortie part that i actualy wrote for the fic)
...Tubbo yells neatly knocking me over with how quickly he grabs my hand and stands up before grabbing he turns towards Tommy and Ranboo, grabbing one of each of their hands and begins running full speed towards the baptismal font, the three of cupping their hands underneath the flowing water before bringing it up to their mouths and splashing any remaining water on each other...
JJUST JUST FUCKING AWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! DFGUOCDYVUPQA
okay and the last part that got written that meantioned tommy was this small bit of him (aged like 7ish) interacting with little baby fundy flora who is two (yes fundy is a girl, me likey like trans fundy headcanons and also itsmybrolbo.png, also fundy being two and simultaneously acticling 5ish is explained about by him being a strange hybrids (also wilbur makes a joke about fish sex in his three minute conversation with dream))
“Okay!” And with that Flora is off running towards the baptismal font where Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo have sat down and started playing with marbles.
JUST FUCKING AWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
so yeah, all this to say i think ctommy is a very religious character, his devotion to prime/dxd is based on his desire for spiritual "wealth" that is promised through "primes" something that i interpret to be something that the character feels like a warmth in the heart that they get if they prey enough.however something that i touch on in the epilogue (the epilogue is the walls being put up around lmanbeyrg) tommy grows to think of primes not as something that you get when you prey, but as something that you get when yo do something that makes a scene, like killing someone, or setting shit on fire, he grows more and more restless and eventually stop praying taking to chaos to get primes.
anyways, writing thi9s huge long post about ctommy and dsmp religion is making me want to cannibalize this wip more then i already did, possibly release a few bits like the entire scene of tubbo running into foolish, or the part about wilbur and fundy (also its fridgebur!!! hes fridgebur, i love fridgebur so much) so i think reworking this wip, and writing out dream is moving very quickly up my todo list.

I fed some prompts into inferkit (really bored) and this is what I ended up with. My second attempt as the first one did have a slur. A really random one, but still one that describes me and made me uncomfortable. The italics is me stirring. I gave it: Daisy, Daniel, Coulson, SHIELD, HYDRA and Presbyterian. The last one was random. Here it is:
That's one, that's one fact.
In the premiere of Marvel's SHIELD, we finally saw what Coulson knows about Daisy's murder, as well as the revelation that the arsonists were actually SHIELD agents, and possibly the only ones at SHIELD who knew where Daisy was buried. It makes sense why the rest of SHIELD doesn't know what's going on with Daisy yet, especially since they haven't been given all of the details of what happened after she turned herself into the police. That's not to say the agents at SHIELD didn't know what was going on with Daisy, but they weren't involved, or maybe not fully involved. Coulson believed that, and the viewers seem to be on his side, but even so, we all just want to know why the hell the SHIELD agents were around Daisy's body if they weren't actually taking part in the crime, and what the hell is going on with Daisy's body and its whereabouts?
It's been revealed that Daisy is alive and doing well in a boarding school. Coulson isn't just talking about Daisy being alive because Daisy and HYDRA kidnapped May, as he's been holding on to what he knows about Daniel, whose abilities he thought Daisy was able to change just by touching her, despite the fact that Daisy had convinced him otherwise. Daniel's story is going to be further fleshed out in later episodes of SHIELD, and the plotline will likely give us a better look at SHIELD history. But, in the meantime, we can also start to figure out the story that Daniel is telling the Presbyterian women.
The plot of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will certainly involve SHIELD, but it doesn't have to be as clean as the way SHIELD is usually shown. In the first episode, we met Peter and realized that he has been in America since he was six years old, the year Daisy went to the U.S. with her father and brother. But Daniel was only six in 2012, or he was born in 1920. I had to wonder, was Daniel even born in the U.S.? And if not, then what was his father's purpose in returning to America, at that time? It's not just Daisy's story that will need to be further fleshed out, as Daisy's own history has been somewhat skipped over, and Coulson's history, well, Coulson barely gives any background information on himself in the first episode. In fact, the most he tells us about himself is that he is Presbyterian and eats hummus on Thursdays. For a show that seems like it will be somewhat dark, the ending of the first episode is as light as SHIELD can get.
A mix of sci-fi and sci-fi inspired humor
When Coulson gives Daniel the training as his instructor, we start to get an idea of how this show will be different from the Marvel movies. It appears that Coulson's team will consist of people like Mack, May, Fitz, Simmons, and even Lance Hunter, but this team is going to be a little hungrier. And it's not just about working for SHIELD, as we find out that the Presbyterian school that Daniel attends is full of SHIELD agents. The Presbyterian school is looking for a team to go to Nepal to check out a particular sect that can give them access to a group of ancient scrolls. Meanwhile, the agents are at the train station waiting for a train that isn't leaving anytime soon, so they make the best of their time in the train station.
The hedgehog serum being the key ingredient is certainly a huge part of the plot for the series, especially with the introduction of its possible effects on May and Mack. But the powers of the serum aren't being completely left to the agents, as Daisy is also given the serum as a potential partner. Daisy doesn't get quite as much to do in the first episode as Daisy was promised by Daisy's father, Dr. Iain Duncan. But Daisy does get to be a healer, a fighter, hedgehog trainer, and sometimes a wise old lady. This mix of sci-fi and sci-fi inspired humor really sets SHIELD up as a show worth watching, and just as importantly, a show that can hold its own against the MCU.
The A.S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Daisy's story both aren't just relegated to this episode. But once the adrenaline and adventure of the train wreck fades, the team needs to figure out what they're going to do with Daisy. The show hasn't confirmed the fate of her uncle, Gerald. We will learn why May hasn't been working with Coulson for a while. And the Presbyterian school for SHIELD agents isn't going to be left just for the Presbyterian school's sake. We already know that there is a connection between the Presbyterian school and the Presbyterian school for the Avengers, and I imagine the way the teams are trained will be the same in the future. The only things that have been missing so far, from the original comic, are Fury and Fury's grandma. I suspect that both of those will appear in a future episode, along with the villains of Hydra and their organization, The Ori.
While the first episode gives the new team of SHIELD agents some trouble and conflict, I can already tell that the series is going to be very entertaining and energetic. The show already shows some great action scenes, with Coulson jumping in the train train to save May, and Daisy using her hedgehog skills to fight off Lucifer . But what's truly great is how this team has so many sides to their personalities, including Daisy using her powers and making her own shield to fight in the train station. This is a show that will give you tons of options for how to watch it. I can't wait to see where this series goes, especially with the appearance of The Ori.
Lynda Carter and Ming-Na have cameos in the first episode. But there is no mention of Steve Rogers' famous cameo.
At fifteenth, it is possible that this is the shortest episode of any of the MCU shows.
May and Coulson are at the Presbyterian school to check out the branch.
Daisy is on the SHIELD mission, but her training isn't going as well as planned.
IT is really bad that Daisy has no idea what's going on.
So I don't see the identity of Lucifer as being big in the first season of the show. It's probably best to move on to other details.

(The scene then cuts to the morning streets of Bangkok, with Peach just exited a BTS Sky Train station, walking towards the nearby hospital where her colleagues currently resides.)
Meanwhile, somewhere on the globe, in a studio…
R8 tyke: …And so, I have no idea when will the next episode be.
Azelfland: Relax. This will be fine.
R8 tyke: Man, I am taking on different side hustles to make myself busy.
Azelfland: Man, look at me. I now make episodes and footages out of racing. Not only do I am paid in prize money, but also free content generation, this is a win-win.
R8 tyke: Eh, you do you.
Azelfland: Anyways… I wanted to be the guest on your show. Can I?
R8 tyke: Alright, but you have to wait for the 3rd episode. TF2014 took the one for the next episode.
Azelfland: …Anyways, what does guests do anyway?
R8 tyke: Just watch The Grand Tour’s season 1, The Odyssey is heavily based on that. (Proceeds to doodle something on his note pad)
Back to Bangkok, in a ward…
(Peach is staring at Daisy on a hospital bed, with the latter’s legs plastered and suspended from the ceiling)
Peach: Hello, annoying sod.
Daisy: Shut up.
Peach: Not so super, eh?
Daisy: Once I received my clutches I will piledrive that thing into your spine.
Peach: You are the idiot here. They told you to stop but you didn’t. That’s why you wrecked a hypercar and your stupidity are punished in the form of spending a few weeks in clutches and wheelchairs. Don’t shoot the messenger. I have one more idiot to attend to.
Later, at the ICU, Peach observes Rosalina through the glass of her isolation care unit, and proceeds to give her a middle finger. As a response, Rosalina returned favour by throwing a rubber item towards the window from her bed. However, Peach left before the item hit the glass. Moments later, as Peach exited the hospital, an anvil fell onto her head and killed her, Minecraft style.
Peach: …Ow.

I’m mei/daisy, I’m 20, and I run this blog! You may use any/all pronouns on me, and I'm always here if you need to chat :) This is a writing blog for the marauders era of harry potter, star wars, criminal minds, top gun, and stranger things! I write sfw and nsfw, and i ask minors not to interact with anything nsfw. doing so will result in a block.
masterlist / ko-fi / faq / hybrid au faq
latest fics: Love to Lie - Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x Reader (Part 1) / Break, Bite, Bang - Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x Reader (18+) / Hungry Like The Wolf - Remus Lupin x Reader (18+)
latest milestone: 25K followers
my asks/requests are: open / closed
Tumblr media
Please check the tag #faq to see if your question has been answered before asking it!
Sometimes my masterlists aren't updated frequently. I suggest after perusing those to scroll through character tags if you want to see my entire library of work. I am working on updating it.
I do not condone the reposting of my work onto other websites. My writing is my writing, if you want to post a story, write your own.
I don't do taglists. They are a lot of work on my part, and they get out of hand quickly. Please do not ask to be tagged.
Any useless, brainless hate mail will be deleted without being given a second thought. I use my time wisely and i won't waste it on a cheap insult, so i suggest you do the same with your own time and don't bother wasting it on a message i'll never care about
To request, I need a plotline and and a character. ‘Fluff’ is not a plotline, ‘part 2’ is not a plotline, ‘sub!reader’ is not a plotline, etc. You’ll have to give me a specific event or series of events to write about if you want me to write about them. If your request is missing one of those components, it will not be written.
Please don't ask if I've stopped writing for a character just because I haven't for a few days. This puts pressure on me and comes off like a guilt trip. Unless I've officially stated that I don't write for them anymore, I still write for them.
Please do not send your request twice. There's a 99% chance that I got it the first time, and sending it twice might actually dissuade me from writing it at all. I have a lot of asks in my inbox, and when people start sending in requests twice or even three times, it clutters things up and makes it very hard for me to work with what I've got.
Please don’t ask to be mutuals! I’m not against the idea of interacting with any of you, on the contrary, I’m very happy to talk to each and every one of you, regardless of whether we follow each other or not. However, I don’t like being asked to do a follow-for-follow situation. It doesn’t usually end up benefitting either party. If you’d like to be my mutual, please don’t ask, just try interacting with me! I’m happy to engage with people who engage with me. I love making mutuals, I just want it to happen naturally, or it doesn’t feel genuine. Thank you!
Please do not send me a request that you’ve copied and pasted into other authors’ inboxes. I suggest not doing this to anyone, but I have a particularly low tolerance for it. It can create some sticky ‘plagiarism/copying’ situations, and it makes me feel like a machine, not an individual person. Please respect me and other authors by valuing us and our work, not just spamming requests for free content. If I find out that a request I’ve been sent has also been sent to other authors word for word, I will delete it immediately, and if I find out after the fact that I’ve written a blurb that someone else wrote with the exact same prompt before me, I will most likely take mine down.
Please do not request anywhere but my inbox. That is where I keep them all so that they’re organized and don’t get forgotten about, so if you message them to me or use one of my other posts as your request form, your comment will most likely be ignored. I can’t keep up with all of them unless you put them in the right place, I’m sorry.

NO:
cheating (on reader)
pedophilia
scat
puke
bestiality

age play
rpf (Real Person Fiction; i don't write for real people! just their characters)
canon compliant war-centric fics about the marauders. I don’t have any interest in writing about the war, or any adjacent events, I’m sorry. I’m perfectly fine writing post-war fics or pre-war fics but I’m just trying to pretend it never happened and I’d appreciate it if you’d send me stuff for them that lets me do that </3
singing or dancing (done by reader) to amaze and impress everyone around them. if that's what you like, go ahead, i'm happy you're happy. but the scenario gives me massive second hand embarrassment, and I can't bring myself to write about it, sorry
songfics: i need to appreciate and understand the song on an analytical level to be able to write an entire fanfiction surrounding it, and that's something I can only manage with songs that i personally love and listen to. if you ask me to write you a songfic and i haven't even heard the song before, i won't be able to do your request justice.
reader teaching a character to do a certain hobby/sport, or a character teaching the reader that. let me explain: i don't know how to pitch a softball, so if you're going to ask me to write about teaching remus to pitch a softball, i don't know how to do that. it all comes down to me and my hobbies and my knowledge, of course, but common plotlines like being taught how to roll a blunt/smoke one, being taught how to play a sport, teaching a character to do a makeup routine, etc, are not skills that i have in my wheelhouse, and therefore plotlines that i wouldn't try to write about.

Could you give me some more hat kid headcanons I feel like shit and could use a lift
Aaahh worm! I'm sorry to hear you're not doin' well today :(
As for more Hat Kid HCs, hmmmnmm. let's see what my brain can scrounge up this time. I apologize if I end up jus rewording ones I mentioned last time, my memory's bad and I can't remember what exactly I have and haven't said hsdkgjhdsg
- I've begun scratching the surface of what her home life might'a been like after reading a whole lot of different fics and meshing it into what I already came up with. High-tech but with big magical influence; I like to believe it has a similar vibe as the metro does - if only because I want Hat Kid to show up in the metro and have conflicting emotions of "CAT!!" and "ohhghh this reminds me of home a lil too much"
(said idea came to me with the rumbi plotline happening in the metro. which. Can I add is strange? That the history of Rumbi is found in a purple rift in Nyakuza Metro? When purple rifts are formed after they fall on someone and unlock their memories?... In the Metro? Rumbi? The Rumbi we see on Hat Kid's ship? Kuzco's poison? I mean, the company that made Rumbi may be intergalatic, for all we know, and that's how Hat Kid got one despite not being from Earth... but. Hmmmmm)
- worse/better(?) if Empress in any way acts like Hat Kid's parent(s) did. I like the mompress idea trust me I do but also I will twist the idea of mompress into something awful and terrible at record speeds. Mompress in a bad way. "You remind me of my mom /neg"
- Hat Kid responds to questions about her age the same way that Millie from Smile For Me does. yknow like "how old am I?.. idk, i'm like 4" "Dude you can't do that I'm like 10." "Don't yell at me!! I'm like, 6!!"
- how old is she actually? An elusive mystery Probably doesn't work the same as Earth years, anyway. Did you know that when u look it up on Google it says she's four. Four years old. I looked this up when I was first writing her for "Fear Not, Cooking Cat is Here" to get an idea of how young to portray her, but. FOUR? no. I choose to not see it I see her mentally about the age of 10-12. Somewhere in that range, u know.
- I know you're not asking for Bow Kid but also: I like to believe Bow Kid isn't actually the same alien species that Hat Kid is. Instead Bow is just some human child on Earth that Hat Kid made friends with and stole. picked her up out of the metro like "you're my friend now. we're having soft tacos later!"
- since she already has her diary that I like to believe she carries around with her, I ALSO choose to think that. once she got that camera, she constantly tapes the pictures she takes with it into her diary. Scrapbook hours! She also tapes leaves n twigs n such in there too. She has no idea what these things are so it's good to have them in her "questions to ask the residents of this planet" book just in case. Once she realized the nomads knew a thing or two about flowers she went to the first one she could find and went "THESE. WHAT ARE THESE" while pointing to a daisy she haphazardly stuck into her diary
- tries to do this with snatcher too but he's not a Big Fan of Flowers ever since The Incident, so he just responds with "get that out of my face" every time and then mutters the scientific name of the flower the moment she's out of earshot
- In a world where she and Mu were friends for longer before the Mafia Boss battle, i like to believe that one day one of them found a giant stick. yknow just a huge branch. you know where I'm going with this. Children screaming and laughing while chasing each other (and the Mafia of course) around with massive stick. Mu finds a second stick and now the two can swordfight,
- myabe i just like thinksgin about children acting like children and having fun like children do . ok
AND that's all for now!! Brain otherwise empty. Wa

Hiya! First time down abbey watcher anon here again! Just finished season 6 and uhhh.... I am Not A Fan of Thomas' arc ngl. Although I do love Daisy's education arc and I think she deserves more love <3 (also a fan of her the gay haircut she got in the last episode lmao). Also not thrilled that they set her up with Andy but DA is a period drama soap opera at heart so everyone's gotta end up with someone in the end ig.
Overall I'm really happy that I watched it!! A lot of my friends find things like DA boring but they're really interesting to me and I've got a hyperfixation again which is nice. I might even start writing fanfic, I've got a few ideas, which is exciting.
Thanks again for your writing, since it's 1) really, really good and 2) got me into a new show!
hello!!!!! thank YOU for the compliment and i am glad you are into da <3 highly recommend you watch (rewatch???) the movie especially now that you know who people Are.
you say you are not a fan of thomas's arc but how do you feel about HIM
andy sux. i dislike him more on every rewatch but also he was kind of done dirty by having a stupid plot (it is extremely unlikely that total illiteracy would go unnoticed for that long - contrary to his statement, reading TENDED to be necessary in service, so someone would have had to be showing him how to do pretty much everything in his first position, and you'd have to have a phenomenally terrible teacher for nobody to notice that you struggled with phonics. the literacy rate in the uk at this time was like 97-98%. "fooling around in school" could absolutely lead to functional illiteracy, which is more common and something a lot of people don't know about and that still requires teaching to overcome for the majority of people AND is something that would, imo, be more worth portraying, but that's not really what they're presenting) (people say, well, maybe it's a learning disability plotline, to which i say: okay, then they should have shown it as a learning disability plotline, because learning disabilities didn't magically spring into existence in the 1980s - although the general population tended to default to seeing ppl w/ what we would now consider learning disabilities as inherently incapable or unintelligent, many teachers and doctors would have been aware of e.g. "word blindness", a forerunner of dyslexia, and they could have done something with that!) and then in the movie he has an even stupider plot
daisy is a cool lesbian (andy is clever enough to recognize this) and i don't trust people who dislike her or think she's annoying especially come the later seasons. she was stifled!!!! she wasn't allowed to grow up!!!! she probably has buckets and buckets of childhood trauma!!!! one might expect that she would be a bit weird when she takes it upon herself to have meaningful relationships with people and learn things and stick up for herself
anyway. thank you for your ask and for saying nice things about my writing :-) i am glad you enjoyed watching the series and i wish you luck in your fic endeavors!!!

The Star Wars Saga, ranked best to worst.
1. The Empire Strikes Back Directed by Irvin Kershner
Tumblr media
Upon close consideration, I’ve come to the shocking conclusion that Empire is the best Star Wars film. There’s a wealth of world-building and character development here that in many ways makes Star Wars the living breathing universe it is now. A richly complex melodrama lies at the heart of Empire, giving a whole new meaning to the term “space opera”. The performances here are some of the strongest in the entire franchise. Mark Hamill not only fleshes out Luke’s character, but in his training with Yoda and his duel with Vader he establishes the profound nature of the force, and how every future character interacts with it. As Han and Leia, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher create authenticity to their characters’ relationship. Often misinterpreted as playfully hostile or sassy, there’s a real and endearing sense of affection between them, particularly in the infamous “I love you”/”I know” line- shedding their previously petty flirtation and affirming their true feelings. The emotional crux of Empire lies not in the most memorable twist, but in the moments immediately following it - In Luke and Leia reaching out to each other, reconnecting a relationship that was lost, rekindling hope in the force after we thought it was lost.
2. A New Hope  Directed by George Lucas
Tumblr media
I’ll be the first in line to make fun of dorky George Lucas and his woeful attempts at writing dialogue or romance. However, it’s pretty damn impossible to ignore what he achieved with Star Wars in 1977. The sheer audacity of his vision and his determination in executing it despite the naysaying from producers and supposed friends. Lucas had the bold idea of using cinema for it’s absolute worth- more than just a storytelling medium but a theatrical one. A cacaphony of sight and sound that could draw mass audiences and create a lasting impression. It’s a formula that every Hollywood and Bollywood blockbuster strives and more often than not fails to follow. It’s hard to dissociate A New Hope from the cultural phenomenon it helped create, but when you do, it stands as an impressive film on it’s own. Groundbreaking in terms of it’s visual effects and nostalgic in the simplicity of it’s sci-fi serial story, Star Wars ticked all the right boxes for so many people. If I was to boil Star Wars down to an essence, i think it lies in 2 scenes: Luke looking out at the binary sunset on Tattooine, and Han Solo yahooing after the Falcon saves Luke in the Death Star trenches. Those two scenes, Wistfulness and Exuberance, are the two sides of one concept- Adventure. Star Wars ignited those emotions in every child’s imagination, and it’s a flame that’s likely to never go out.
3. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Directed by Gareth Evans
Tumblr media
Hard to believe this is a Disney movie. While the house of mouse may have a reputation for emotional gut punches in kids movies, it’s never felt quite so... permanent. Rogue One is an unrelenting emotional journey barelling towards surefire tragedy. We spend moments with characters that seem to be carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. The sense of desperation that permeates the movie almost overpowers any sense of heroism. It’s so unlike anything we’ve seen in a Star Wars movie. Their courage comes from a place that is wholly genuine and believable. We see the rebellion for the despondent group that they are. Sorely outnumbered by the Empire, their actions in this movie show a reckless, darker side to them and makes the morality of Star Wars so much more complex. The first time we meet Cassian Andor- the stand out performace of the film by Diego Luna- we see him kill another rebel to protect their secrets. It’s a movie that reframes the original Star Wars trilogy, making it a richer, complex universe and more intriguing as a result. Also, the last five minutes might be the best five minutes in any Star Wars movie.
4. Return of the Jedi Directed by Richard Marquand
Tumblr media
The one sore spot in the original trilogy for me are the Ewoks. I realise it's ridiculous for me to complain about kid-friendly creatures in a kid's movie, but Star Wars has done this a lot more tolerably in the form of Porgs and Baby Yoda. Just something about these furry, Tibetan speaking monsters who somehow have the wherewithal to defeat an elite and well equipped empire rubs me the long way. Anyway, other than that, the movie's pretty fantastic. The culmination of Luke's journey comes to a head in an extremely emotional and effective climax. John Williams score crescendos to operatic heights and Mark Hamill's stellar performance sells Luke’s torment. It’s also worth noting that in those final moments of moral dilemma, Darth Vader is silent- it’s David Prowse’s performance entirely that sells this. His incredible presence throughout the trilogy builds to this moment and you can feel the weight of it in those closeups on Vader. Every other cast member rounds the story out perfectly- from Lando and Han’s playful rapport to Leia’s more militaristic side in planning the rebellions final moves. I still bemoan the fact that they changed the final song- an opinion that I’m apparently a minority on- but it’s a pretty incredible ending altogether and wonderfully cathartic to watch over and over again.
5. The Last Jedi Directed by Rian Johnson
Tumblr media
With Last Jedi, Rian Johnson analyzed the universe Star Wars inhabits, and what drives it’s characters. The characters that we love are pushed to their limits, struggle against insurmountable odds and their own innate flaws. And we see all of them fail in turn. It is remarkably bleak, but not without purpose. It is out of this failure that the Resistance needs to recoup and come back stronger. The performances here, are arguably the best you’ll find in the entire franchise. Daisy Ridley has to break down Rey’s naivete and find a deeper sense of self actualization. Adam Driver hands in some of his best work, by swerving the audience into believing Kylo Ren and then creating a desperate plea in THAT throne room scene, and eventually turning him into a snivelling villain, all in the same movie. Mark Hamill’s performance here is heartbreaking- revealing the bleakest version of Luke, and struggling to find his redemption. Last Jedi is a bold deconstuction of these characters, of what they stand for, and what makes Star Wars beautiful.
6. The Force Awakens Directed by J. J. Abrams
Tumblr media
In many ways, a safe movie to announce the return of Star Wars. But it’s hard to fault this. Disney’s decision making was shrewd here, bringing on J. J. Abrams to pay homage to George Lucas’ original vision, returning the franchise to it’s roots of practical effects and shooting on film. There was something truly special about experiencing this film in theatres, so much so that I did it eleven times. It captured a sense of wonder for fans new and old- hearing the scream of Tie Fighters, John Williams herald the return of the Millenium Falcon, and the look of awe on Rey’s face as she clutches her destiny in her hand. I’ll be honest, the film loses some of this magic without the shared experience of an audience, and it’s flaws are more noticeable. But being swept up in the excitement of adventure felt so darn good in 2015, and that’s so key to this franchise.
7. Revenge of the Sith Directed by George Lucas
Tumblr media
This movie has risen so much in my opinion, entirely due to the animated Clone Wars series. Revenge of the Sith depicts the overwhelming tragedy that frames the original Star Wars. Watching Clone Wars explains explicitly what makes this film so tragic. But it’s more than that- it’s a catastrophic failure on behalf of the Jedi Order. Ignorance and pride allow evil to fester and grow. George Lucas took the simplicity of the moral struggle he established in 1977 and tried to give it depth and complexity with the prequels, and it pays off in Revenge of the Sith. It leads into the original trilogy quite brilliantly, with a promise of hope and resilience.
8. The Phantom Menace Directed by George Lucas
Tumblr media
It has not aged well. While the advent of CGI I’m sure felt exciting at the time, and you almost can’t fault George Lucas for his insistence on staying at the forefront of VFX innovation as he has always done, it’s his reliance on so much of it that fails horribly. Like a kid in a candy store, Lucas stuffs the pockets of this film with so many bizarre effects for absolutely no reason. That sea monster scene is one of the worst displays I’ve ever seen and it’s absurd that it sits in a Star Wars film. Add to that the boring political plotline and ridiculous midichlorian dilemma and there’s very little redemptive about this film. However, it does have podracing, and Duel of the Fates, and it’s remarkable how much that salves the wound.
9. The Rise of Skywalker Directed by J. J. Abrams
Tumblr media
Alright, well obviously this film has been problematic. However, I’m not about to bemoan the idea that Disney has ruined Star Wars and I have nothing left to live for. So let’s all just calm down. Ultimately J. J. Abrams was faced with the impossible task of wrapping up the Skywalker saga, with very few Skywalkers to work with. I firmly believe this would have been a very different film if Carrie Fisher was around to complete her performance. But left with nothing but the new cast, Abrams is caught between summing up the past while also looking to the future. It forces an awkward plotline with Palpatine- despite Ian McDiarmid's solid performance, the writing here seems wildly derivative of the franchise. There are some truly beautiful scenes, most notably the chemistry that Adam Driver gets to share with Harrison Ford, and Joonas Suotamo’s critically emotional outburst as Chewbacca. Some of the production design and score is so entirely different from the rest of the franchise it's inherently intriguing. But there’s very little here to save some of the poorer choices the film makes: the open plot hole with Finn, the derailing of Rey’s character development, and most crucially, the deeply perturbing culmination of Rey and Kylo’s relationship. The audience literally went “ew”.
10. Solo: A Star Wars Story Directed by Ron Howard
Tumblr media
The biggest problem with Solo is that it operates under the presumption that people will be enamoured and invested in it. Not just in one movie, but in an entire series of movies. Solo clearly operates as a setup for further sequels. As a result, many plot lines remain unresolved, and Qi’ra winds up being a completely under-baked character. Her motivations make no sense, and a twist ending that I assume was supposed to be exciting is instead downright confusing. There’s a lot of unnecessary exposition into Han’s past too. As an origin story, I don’t need to know every aspect of Han’s past- especially not cute winks at inane things like “Why’s he called Solo?”. All this being said, The movie features some solid performances- Donald Glover is expectedly phenomenal as Lando, and Alden Ehrenreich excels as Solo, adding some welcome flavour to the character- particularly his friendship with Chewbacca, and a brilliantly executed final scene between him and Woody Harrelson’s Beckett.
11. Attack of the Clones Directed by George Lucas
Tumblr media
How in the world this film made it all the way to production and into filming, with no one pulling Lucas aside and saying “Hey George, those kids have no chemistry” is beyond me. And I’m not going to blame Hayden Christensen or Natalie Portman on this one, because the whole damn love story makes no sense. Maybe falling for a dude who admits he murdered women and children isn’t such a great idea? Then there’s the increasingly convoluted political climate set up in Phantom Menace, and the machinations of the dark side that would take the entire Clone Wars series to fully explain. All this being said, Temuera Morrison, Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan MacGregor AND Christopher Lee are all in this movie. And they’re pretty damn fantastic.
12. The Clone Wars Directed by Dave Filoni
Tumblr media
It’s inexplicable that Dave Filoni would go on to have a hand in some of the best Star Wars content ever made in Clone Wars, Rebels and the Mandalorian. And yet he got his start in the franchise by putting up this piece of junk. And junk is being a little generous. The humour is so juvenile it’s insulting to even the youngest of audiences it’s intended for. The plotline feels way to thin to warrant a feature film, and if this was in fact intended as a pilot for the TV series, they sure picked to most uninteresting story to pique our interest. Skip the movie, watch the show.

Yes please do rec us all the fics that have Dragon Age style bard Jaskier! I need this because of reasons
Tumblr media
multiple people wanted these fic recs so here you go:
Bards are Knives and Arrows, Not Sunshine and Daisies
Legit this is the EXACT request, Jaskier is a dragon age bard @lunarthedragon
Isušena Kaljuža
This fic hits different, it is a little Assassin’s Creed inspired and Jaskier is basically a spy/assassin type and uses his abilities to basically help out and be a total BAMF @marionettefthjm
Bard Assassin Series
This series is a gift to all of us, it’s a series of one-shots following a universe where Jaskier is an assassin in addition to being Geralt’s bard @sageclover61
Classical Bardic Training Series
Jaskier got the Dragon Age bardic training and this one has a little spicy secret identity aspect to it. @tvnnelsnake
Shadowplay
Jaskier dies. However, this is not quite what it seems. Lots of good spy!Jaskier content here. @sospes
The Witcher Solider
I beg of people to please stop coming up with fic ideas that tear my heart out. This is just the Winter Solider plotline but in the Witcher Universe where Jaskier has his memories erased and is sent to kill Geralt. @avoidingaverage
Can your bard keep a secret?
A little assassin!Jaskier one-shot to explain why he suddenly just disappeared during Pavetta’s feast
This is a hyperspecific kind of trope, and I’m so happy there are a good amount of fics for it.

Rainy day gyroids
Rainy days are the perfect excuse to stay inside with a cup of warm tea and a good show to watch while letting the day pass on by. How fitting is it that the theme of this gyroid event happens to be rainy days?
Joining us on this rainy day adventure are Robert and Mace, two former members of Jamie's entourage back when she lived on Peace Coast Island. Robert Azarias is a writer and actor, best known for his work in the TV show Faerie Town, which just ended earlier this year. Mace Callaghan is an actor whose career kicked off thanks to people like Jamie and his cousin Amelia, who's also an actor as well as a producer. Both have been super busy as they're on a new show that's set to premiere in the fall so they're at the camp for a short vacation after pretty much working nonstop for the past several weeks.
The new show is called Mount Barley, RFD - which stands for rural free delivery - and it's about a journalist who moves back to his old hometown to take care of his aging father and reconnects with his old friends. Mace plays the main character, Alex, an ambitious creative who has a tendency to get carried away with his ideas. Robert's the co-executive producer/showrunner and has a recurring role as Jerry, a friend and colleague of Alex's who sometimes gets dragged into everyone else's problems due to bad timing. Other characters include Alex's dad Emmett, the wise father figure everyone looks up to, Blossom the pharmacist who's a neighbor to Alex, Leia, a childhood friend and work colleague, and Deedee, the hairstylist who serves as Alex's source for gossip.
Having insider information is kinda a blessing and a curse. Well, what I mean by curse is that I can't say too much about something because of non-disclosure stuff, which means I have to be careful not to let anything slip. Especially with a lot of show creators, writers, and actors being active on social media, it's kinda easy to accidentally reveal something that wasn't supposed to publicly come out yet. It's not usually anything super confidential but some companies are more particular about what people say more than others. While being able to interact with crew members has its perks, it also has its drawbacks - then again, that's social media in general.
Robert's previous show, Faerie Town, ended last year after five seasons. A good number of the entourage members were in that show like April Wingate, Melody Muto, Linus Cooper, and Cecelia Argent. Robert was a writer on the show as well as a recurring character who became more prominent from season three onwards.
Ending the show was one of those cases where they were told ahead of time that they weren't going to get renewed. By then, the overall story they wanted to tell was coming to a conclusion so it made sense to start wrapping things up. Being an ensemble show, it kinda suffered from a large cast - I'm overall satisfied with the way the main characters were handled but at the same time I felt that it could've been balanced better. And I'll admit, the writing during the last two seasons were weak, but not to the point where the show went downhill.
The way I see it, there's a difference between a show going downhill and a show where the writing isn't as top notch. Downhill is bad, as in this has a negative impact on how I feel about the show in general. An example of downhill is Popular Besties, which, looking back wasn't entirely good, but I enjoyed it as a kid. It was one of those shows which the quality dipped a lot - and knowing the issues going on behind the scenes, it makes a lot of sense as to why - and it gets to the point where you're watching a new episode out of obligation or dropping it all together.
Hogan Family Values is an example of a show that has fallen to weak writing. Like Faerie Town, it has a big cast, though it struggles more in terms of having too many characters to handle. It's ending after three seasons, which has ten episodes left. Season three started out pretty strong, but since then it has been a mixed bag. We all kinda suspected that it was ending as some of the episodes kinda had that vibe and that was later confirmed by the creator just recently.
I think the biggest problem with this season is that the pacing's kinda rushed and I feel like the show has kinda written itself into a corner by trying to wrap up various plotlines while introducing a bunch of new characters/plot points at the same time. On one hand the show could use another season just to pad things out a bit, but at the same time it makes sense why they would end it there.
The show's still good though, it's just season three doesn't have the same spark as the first two did. I mean, the stronger episodes of this season are some of the best in the show overall while the weaker ones aren't entirely terrible, just mediocre, or at worst, somewhat boring. And despite my reservations at the moment, I have faith in the crew that the ending will be satisfying, even if rushed.
A show with a satisfying ending is Star's Universe, which has become one of my top favorite shows of all time. I think, if it wasn't for the network, the show could've easily run for another season to even out the pacing towards the end. It also suffered from the uncertainty of being renewed, which then led to a movie. While working on the movie, the network decided to order an additional season at the last minute to fully wrap things up. There's still a lot the show can touch on but it's all extra stuff - and while it could've focused more on the supporting cast, I can understand why they couldn't because it's essentially not their story.
As for the overall story the show wanted to tell, they not only succeeded, but exceeded my expectations. The conclusion's satisfying in a way that it's open enough to revisit but if that's the end, then I'm happy with that as well.
I think Star's Universe has ruined me in terms of judging series endings. It still kinda doesn't feel real that the show literally just ended less than a year ago. The writing has also remained consistently strong for the most part and it's just a brilliant show. Now I feel like binging on a bunch of episodes. I guess you can say it's one of my comfort shows.
While collecting gyroids, we got to talking about Mount Barley, RFD a bit as well as catch up on life in general. Robert's got an interesting backstory that Hollywood has been wanting to make into a movie for years. He was known as the Etienne Falls Baby as he was born en route on the ill fated train that crashed in the desert. His father died in the accident while his mother passed away shortly after, leaving Robert in the care of three friends who helped bring him into the world. Only one of them survived and he, while carrying Robert, made a dangerous trek through the desert to find help. After the tragic ordeal, he adopted Robert, becoming somewhat known as a hero.
Mace is the nephew of actor Gary Stewart, who's well known on stage and screen, as well as his daughters Amelia and Lesley. It was Amelia who helped Mace pursue his dream of acting by helping him stand up to his father, who was against it. At the time he was going through a lot and as a result of everything, he finally had enough. It wasn't easy going against his father's wishes, but he had to or else he'd be stuck working at the bank being his father's successor.
He's still hoping for a reconciliation, though it seems unlikely at the moment. Since moving to the island, Mace rarely spoke to his father, who has pretty much disowned him. Back home he heard that his father's not too crazy about Mace having his own show as that'll make him more well known. At least his cousins and uncle have always been supportive of him - he had always been closer to them, especially after his mom passed.
It's been raining all day, though it started out as a light drizzle at first. I don't mind the rain too much - it adds to the rainy day theme! I love how gray and cloudy the sky gets - there's just something about rain that's calming and cozy. Also, it was the perfect excuse to break out my new umbrella - and it was worth every leaf ticket because not only it looks pretty, it kept me dry. Aside from the mud, collecting gyroids in the rain was a lot of fun!
When it started pouring we headed back to the cabin to begin crafting some stuff. I was surprised that we managed to collect a lot of gyroids today, then again, I think the rain might've helped some. We also managed to do some fishing and bug catching as well, which the guys had never done before. Robert's a fast learner when it comes to fishing - and a lucky one too as he managed to catch two king salmons!
Aside from collecting gyroids, we didn't get to be able to do too much sightseeing today. Once the weather clears up, I'm thinking of setting up a picnic in the meadow and a short hike along the trail. Then, depending on Gulliver's schedule, I was hoping we can catch a ride with him and explore an island or two. Robert mentioned that he always wanted to try out sailing so I want him to experience that. As for Mace, he says he's content with anything the camp has in store and he enjoys running errands for the campers.
With the rain pouring, we all were in the mood for some tea so I put on the kettle as soon as we got inside. While waiting for the tea we set up the TV to watch some shows while helping Daisy Jane package orders from her shop. Nothing like cozying up with a nice hot cup of tea on a cloudy rainy day!

Which Fic
I was tagged by @stusbunker!
Which of your fics…
…did you think would get a bigger reaction/audience than it got?
Finally. I think reader engagement has definitely declined in general, though.
…got a better reaction than you expected?
The Right Spot. I’m still a little flabbergasted by how popular this was. Like, I thought it was hot, but I didn’t realize that many people would be into it.
Runner-up, The One Where Reid Is Reading Harry Potter. This is such a dorky little bit of wishful thinking; I really didn’t expect it to get any notes, but I love that so many people shared my emotional attachment to reading out loud.
…is your funniest?
The Rockstar AU, especially Daisies and Cheers. There’s so much comedic potential in all those characters that doesn’t get put to use because of what they all do; I just started thinking about what they would be like if they were making music and partying, instead of saving the world, and fuckin ran with it.
Runner-up, Brains Over Beauty. Mostly because I refer to Sam as “Lumberjack Ken.” I’m still giggling over that.
…is your darkest or angstiest?
Set Yourself On Fire. It’s about Sam between seasons 3 and 4, and it touches on some things that came from a very real emotional place: self-destructive tendencies, depression, drinking, drugs, that sort of fun stuff. I have a lot of fics that are sad or feelsy, but there’s usually some sort of positive spin. This one is just fuckin dark, emotionally.
…is your absolute favorite?
Probably the Coffee & Psychopaths series. When I started writing Quitting, I knew there were a couple parallels between the characters that I wanted to write about, but the more I wrote, the more I found... and I’m still amazed by the way those canon plotlines wove together. So. Much. Plot.
This series has become a place for me to dive headfirst into philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, dorky history trivia, and so many more of my favorite subjects, and tie them together with Sam and Spencer character studies, and I love being able to connect all those dots. I love every single fucking sentence of this series so far and I can’t wait to write more.
 …is your least favorite?
I Can Change. It was my first fic in the Supernatural fandom and when I started it, I had no idea where it was going.
…was the easiest to write?
Big Damn Heroes. I’d had a few of those character exchanges in my head for a loooong time, and the crossover challenge gave me an excuse to finally write them out. I had so much fun writing that and I think it shows.
…was hardest to write?
Lost At Sea (But I Am Home). All of Marked was difficult in its own way (trauma processing! Fun times!) but this even more so. The plot is very very subtle, there’s a lot of emotional nuance happening, and I really wanted to stay true to Dean as a character, and the meta bits are, like, deep and meaningful and shit, and on top of all that I saddled myself with some running metaphors that were tricky to integrate... yeah.
…has your favorite lines/exchange/paragraph? (share it!)
Marked, Chapter 20. The entire conversation with Sam, but especially this:
“There are good days and there are days when… when it feels like it’s crushing you. And that doesn’t mean you’ve failed, or that you’re not strong enough, or whatever else, because even if you’re doing everything right, the bad days are going to happen. What matters is that you’re trying. Every day you get up and take one little step, in spite of everything you’re carrying, that’s a victory. It’s not about getting somewhere. It’s the step that matters.”
Also, I think a few of the exchanges in Sharp Edges are some of my best work, particularly the negotiation conversation and the last few paragraphs. Such as:
“You good?” he asks, falling back on what seems to be his mantra for the evening.
“I’m… no, not really, hang on,” Spencer mumbles, and Sam flinches, moving away instinctively.
“Shit, sorry, what -”
“No, wait, that’s not - just… can you reach the tissues, or do I actually have to stand up right now?” Spencer asks, with a disgruntled sort of glare at the box of Kleenex on the end table.
Sam laughs, awkward and self-conscious. Spencer blinks owlishly up at him, shaking his hair out of his eyes. Then a smile spreads over his face slowly and he’s laughing too as Sam leans and stretches over to grab the box.
“The male orgasm is really inconvenient sometimes,” Spencer mutters.
Sam lets out another snort of laughter, looking away to give him some privacy as he cleans up. He’s not sure what the etiquette of this whole situation is; it’s such a strange thing, oddly intimate, and even though Sam’s still fully-dressed, he feels exposed in a way he’s not used to.
“Now I’m good,” Spencer says quietly. He’s got his knees tucked up to his chest, arms wrapped loosely around them, but he tilts his head back against the wall and aims a hazy, heavy-lidded stare at Sam. His lips part and curl up in a barely-there smile, and his tongue flicks out over the pink curve of his lower lip.
Those edges that Sam first noticed are harder to see, now; he’s all soft eyes and softer mouth, flushed skin, messy hair… all except the line of his jaw. That’s still wickedly, unmistakably sharp.
Spencer should come with a warning sign: handle with care. Sam’s not sure who that sign would be protecting. It could be handle with care: fragile, or, just as easily, handle with care: sharp edges.
Either way, there’s a good chance of someone getting hurt here.
“Can I kiss you?” Sam asks.
Spencer’s eyes widen almost imperceptibly with surprise, and his pupils are huge and dark, liquid-looking, hypnotic. He blinks, slowly, and suddenly looks about ten years younger. He’d been so self-assured ordering Sam not to draw blood; that confidence is gone, now, like he’s had less experience with kissing than with telling people how to hit him.
Oh, Sam thinks, and tries not to let his own surprise show on his face.
Also also, Origin Stories has some of my favorite conversations/overall themes, but they’re long passages and I’m not gonna paste them here!
…have you reread the most?
Uh not gonna lie I’ve re-read Everything a lot. Because... unf. That’s my go-to fantasy.
…would you recommend to someone reading your work for the first time?
Most of my favorites are already cited here! But if you wanted a short, concise kinda one-shot sampler plate, I’d start with:
Let’s Get Married - happy, poetic.
Told You So - sexual tension and snark.
Heart of Gold - feels.
Prey - hot but also weird and unsettling.
…are you most proud of?
Marked. I’ve talked about this fic so much, I don’t think it needs to be reiterated, but Marked means so so much to me.
