- The Mudhorn egg quest in Mandalorian

- Grogu eating the frog eggs in the Mandalorian - The Musical number in ROTJ - The trash compactor scene in ANH - Every other podracer except Anakin - Chewie and the Porgs

- Leia floating back into the star ship from space (aka Superman or Mary Poppins style)

- Facial transformation and voice emulator in TCW

- The Purrgil

- Chewie’s Tarzan yell

Sometimes Star Wars is silly, and that’s part of it’s charm!  So maybe let’s forgive a moment of levity in a show that has already given us on screen near child torture, dead bodies of Jedi displayed as trophies, a man choking and breaking the necks of innocent by standards, a lynched body hanging as a warning, a man being burned for revenge, drug use, real depictions of depression and child kidnapping.  One silly moment has never “ruined” Star Wars before and it doesn’t ruin it now. Get over it.

The two boys moved together so closely that it seemed like they were of one mind, their hips rolling together an their chests touching, matching grins on their faces. Regulus's hair was a little mussed and his shirt was riding up, and he was currently biting his bottom lip, eyes closed, his hands on Barty's waist.

And James was entranced. Because really, who wouldn't be? Regulus looked like some sort of fallen angel, dressed in all black, his beautiful skin tinged pink with drink and exertion as he moved.

But the worst part?

Every once in a while, Regulus glanced over. Looked at James. Threw him a seductive smirk that was so un-Regulus and so tempting that James almost melted to the floor with it.

"So...are you looking over there because you want to slap Crouch or snog Reg?" Remus asked from next to James, snapping him back to reality.

Clearing his throat and looking over to where Barty looked to be thoroughly enjoying himself, James shrugged and chuckled. "Both."

Not to be overly sensitive on main but knowing I watched the bucktommy kiss live makes me so emotional ?? bc I’ve been part of so many fandoms and I’ve shipped so many gay (gn) couples and I’ve always felt like having them in my heart and in written word was enough but this feeling of being seen and being part of a community that celebrates with me and cries with me and see myself and my people reflected on a big screen not just as a concept but as a reality is so validating and idk im just so happy to have experienced that with you all

lance being a jack of all trades had such good potential. a guy who’s decently good at everything but not amazing at anything who only sees the lack of perfection. he’s always someone’s second choice because there’s always someone better, and he acts out and builds a persona of false bravado to cope with that. that’s why he’s so proud of being the “cool ninja sharpshooter,” because it’s the first thing he’s been the best at that’s useful in a war

there could have been an amazing character arc about how being good at things or being the best at something isn’t indicative of someone’s worth. the team doesn’t love him because he’s a great shot and a good paladin. they love him because he’s lance

and idk if i’m swinging at a hornet’s nest here (defo would’ve been in 2017) but that’s why i don’t like black paladin lance lmao. lance isn’t the best choice for black paladin, and that’s okay. leading and strategizing are things he’s good at, like so many others, but it isn’t his forte. with his wide skillset and smooth adaptability, he’s the perfect fit for the role of support as the guardian of water. water is liquid! it fills in the gaps!! while everyone else has a dedicated Thing, he picks up the slack to make the team stronger!!!!!

and if we’re looking at this through a klance lens, there’s a lot to say about lance’s fabricated rivalry. keith was (at least in lance’s eyes) absolutely perfect. a perfect student, a perfect pilot, able to effortlessly do things that it took endless practice for lance to get decent at. of course lance starts to hate him, who wouldn’t in that position. not to mention the months spent being constantly compared to keith. to have keith— that keith— fall in love with lance would be so narratively delicious. to have someone so seemingly perfect look up to you? to have someone so seemingly perfect show he isn’t by being vulnerable and open and trusting you to not to be cruel? chefs kiss MUAH

Fandom Gripe #23: I know that fandom is in some deep denial about its treatment of female characters that are canonically involved with fan favorite m/m ships, but do y’all realize that when you disappear female characters from the narrative wholesale to push the idea that your canonically straight fav was “secretly gay all along!” you’re making several bad implications? That 1) bi men don’t exist, 2) bi men do exist, but those who have genuinely loved a woman before cannot genuinely love a man after that (therefore bi men don’t exist in practice), 3) women cannot inspire genuine love and devotion in men, therefore any relationship with a woman is “lesser” than the one they later have a man (see previous parenthesis), or 4) to acknowledge the existence of a lovable woman who isn’t a terrible person, where if a relationship previously existed, it did not end because of “incompatibility,” is enough to destabilize the present relationship between two queer men?

Because why is the tgcf fandom allergic to acknowledging that He Xuan had a whole ass fiancée that he loved? Why does no one ever seem to remember that the kidnappings and murders of He Xuan’s sister and fiancée were the final straws that sent him on his rampage, and he still keeps a shrine to them in the present-day of the story? Why is her entire existence and significance to He Xuan as a man, character, and to his character arc disappeared in favor of pushing Shi Qingxuan—the brother of the man responsible for his fiancée’s death—into that same role, as if to say that her impact on He Xuan is significant... just not when it's from her? Why does He Xuan’s life in fandom essentially begin not just after her death but because of it?

For those who are so angry about the fact that Vader and Obi-Wan meeting prior to episode 4 just because it changes the context of one line please take a step back and remember there have been MANY lines in the series already that have been re-contextualized that we don't seem to have an issue with:

1. Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me (and then we learned about Qui-Gon)

2. She died when I was very young (apparently only a few minutes old)

3. I thought I could train him just as well as Yoda, I was wrong (except, Yoda didn't want him trained at all)

4. My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Count. (You know, like 2 weeks ago on Oba Diah)

5. I've been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku (yes, he knows, you've fought like 7 times in TCW)

6. A Master with more experience. (I mean, considering how often Obi-Wan and Grievous met in TCW this line is almost now more of a trolling remark towards Obi-Wan)

My point to all this is, we've already had some inconsistencies within the series (and these weren't even caused by the often villainized "Disney conon") so let's maybe just relax and get excited that these two characters and actors are gifting us with more content together - or at least hold judgment until we've actually seen it.

PS: for the record this line was already re-contextualized by Episode 3 when Anakin was no longer Obi-Wan's learner so...
