with gojo, geto and even kenjaku dead, do you think satosugu's story is completely over? because for me personally, if this is the end of their story, it feels kinda unsatisfactory and inconclusive. i hope we get more content and there are so many questions about their story that still need to be answered. i dont expect gojo's censored last words to geto to be revealed ever but i hope we get at least a somewhat conclusive ending.....

Their story had a conclusive ending, they're not the main characters so no matter how much we crave for more bits of satosugu this is what we have and this is how they ended. I don't necessarily find it unsatisfactory considering both of them served their purposes and we got another top notch satosugu angsty crumb till gojo's last breath (that panel of him saying "my only disappointment is that you weren't there to give a slap on the back" and geto's tears). I don't think we should drag it out or find any other means to insert more stsg when it isn't even their story, sad but true. This is it for us, they happened, it was beautiful and then it ended.

i think i’ve learned a lot when it comes to not applying my own values to the media i consume

for my script analysis class yesterday, we discussed two gentleman from verona, and nearly every classmate of mine was up in arms about how sexist the story is.

and i'm not saying it's not, or that it's not infuriating to read. but i'm also not putting my energy into getting upset about something written 500 or so years ago. and i'm not about to put my own beliefs onto these characters that are not me. i'm going to let their choices speak for themselves, and interpret it in the context of the story.

all that said, this now brings me to the point of alastor in episode 5, and how viscerally people are responding to it. those of you up in arms about the choices he’s making, and the violent threat he gave husk, you’re missing the entire point of his character, of this place they’re in, of the story being told. he’s an overlord, and he became an overlord by killing much bigger overlords and broadcasting their deaths over the radio.

HE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.

if you started this show with the belief that every character working the hotel is a good person, you’re in the wrong place. watch the good place if you’re looking for a good wholesome story about getting dead sinners into heaven, because that’s not what this show is about.

you’re more than welcome to hate him after seeing the way he exerted power over a being whose soul he owns, but you’re doing the media you’re watching a disservice by writing it off so quickly. if you don’t like to be uncomfortable watching media, watch something else. this is an uncomfortable show, it handles uncomfortable topics, and it’s going to be an uncomfortable ride, and if you’re not up for something like that, then you should take a break from it and pick up something else. you don’t have to get online and defend your own ideals while you watch a show that goes against your ideals.

I have often wondered why Patroclus isn't in more things myself. Like most of the heroes in the Iliad come from myths even older than the Iliad, and their lore just kept expanding after the Iliad was composed. Like you have SO much stuff about Achilles and Agamemnon and others, not to mention Odysseus; you have extensive Iliad fanfic about the most minor Trojan characters imaginable (looking at you Virgil); you have all those later myths that have the main heroes' offspring doing things and going on adventures and killing/maiming people....... but nothing about Patroclus. Zilch. Nada. And it's just so bizarre to me. Like Patroclus is an awesome character if you think about it. He was probably invented only for the purpose of shifting the narrative of the Iliad, of bringing about Achilles' grief and rage because Achilles' death has to be as dramatic and intense as possible, but I don't think that's reason enough to not include him in any other myths.

An answer to this could be that there are a lot of myths and stories that simply didn't stand the test of time. Like we know for a fact that Patroclus makes an appearance in some ancient greek tragedies, but the fragments remaining do not have any of his lines, or we only have the summaries of those plays by later authors who didn’t go into too much detail about his role in the plays. Another answer could be that Patroclus' existence as a character is very closely tied to Achilles', but whenever Achilles appears in a myth or play or story, he tends to eclipse every other character and draw the attention on himself. So the people who later preserved those stories in writing simply didn't bother to include Patroclus. But that also bears the question: why didn't Patroclus capture the people's imagination more, the way Menelaus or Nestor or even Neoptolemus do? I really don't know. If anyone has a better answer than this, I'd love to hear it.

I don’t care much for ifs and buts all they have ever done was give me a fleeting moment of gay, hope , pleasure just to take it away with a mundane conjunction involved. Next time I get to experience anything remotely close to love I hope to never hear anything that feels like the relief before the band aid is ripped off. I don’t expect much but I do. I mean like, obviously he isn't. His entire personality is centered around not letting anyone ever see the truly damaged parts of his soul. He's hiding some of the shit from himself as much as from anyone else. No matter how close to someone he gets he's never gonna be comfortable reaching that deep into his mind and memories and pulling this kind of stuff up for everyone ("everyone") to see. But there's just something so tempting about seeing him drop all his walls, not being on his guard at all, pulling his partner into a quick hug every time he walks past, stealing his clothes from the hamper because that's when they smell the most like him, buying all the dumb shit that reminds him of his partner and not ever stopping to think if it was silly, tightly wrapping himself around him when falling asleep, all the tiny little shit all the time (but only in the privacy of their home and his mind), because for once he feels safe enough to just be whoever he is. Not even whoever he wants to be, just... Whoever he is, flaws and fucked up past and broken dreams and all.

Obviously he isn't, but what if he was?

This is out of nowhere and just a thought but.. imagine if you're close with a tsundere FL and he gets rlly injured and passed out... and its the first time you get vulnerable because you dont know what to do so you stay close to him, trying to tend his wounds and just hold onto him while calming down

He wakes up to see you during this state and once you notice him wake up, you hold him much closer, hugging his face even whether he likes it or not..!

this hits even harder with the recent archon quest aghghhh,,,

Legacy stirs, letting out a near-silent hiss of pain as his wounds ache. there's something warm in his claws, and his crystalline eye opens to see you hunched over beside the bed, both of your hands wrapped around one of his larger ones

there are tears streaming down your face, and Legacy lets out a raspy, concerned trill, his normal grumpy demeanor fading. your head snaps up, eyes shining as you let out a strangled sob and fling your arms around him, touch gentle but firm, like you're scared he'll disappear if you let him go. Legacy squeaks in surprise, but slowly snakes his arms around your waist to hug you back. he rumbles faintly, running his claws soothingly up your back as you cry into his shoulder, his seemingly impenetrable heart melting at how much you care, just as he does for you

and you lean back, grabbing his shoulders and giving him a light shake with a serious expression. "Don't ever do that again, okay?!"
