notion resources master post
i've been using notion for ~ 8 years now and i've together a list of the best resources i have found that have helped me learn how to use notion and customize my pages.
this is going to be a big post so buckle up. all resources are under the cut. i will continue to add to this as i find and discover new notion creators.
widgets
these websites allow you to embed widgets into your notion pages for further customization
indify.co - the best website for widgets, has limitations though which is disappointing.
widgetbox.app - another great website for widgets
icons
icons8 - offers a variety of different icons in different styles
super.so/icons - great website for minimal looking icons
tutorials
a step-by-step guide - sab yang
how to use notion - kevin stratvert
notion fundamentals - thomas frank
creators
thomas frank
marie poulin
better creating
learning how to use notion
new to notion? start here - notion
notion101 - notion
notion academy - notion.so
template shops
buying templates is definitely not required to use notion but i found it useful when i needed a feature that i couldn't make myself. below are my favorite shops i have purchased templates from.
cub and clover - etsy
their templates are advanced but have a lot of amazing features in them. highly recommend if you're familiar with notion and can handle the advanced features.
notion things - website
offers many different templates for different areas. it's clear they have put a lot of work into their templates and i have enjoyed using their templates.
that is all for now! hope you enjoyed <3

Simple Notion Timetable Guide
I'm very proud of this so I'm making a guide, cause I spent a while LONGING for a timetable in notion.
All you need for this is a database that has a date property.
Set up a board view
Group it by the date property
3. Add a new property for the hour range
I chose even hours for this and used the formula and added :00 to the end to make it CUTE and shit
concat(if(hour(prop("DATE")) % 2 == 0, format(hour(prop("DATE"))), format(hour(prop("DATE")) - 1)), ":00")
Then use this as a subgrouping
4. Since only the calendar view has the cute little timestamp, then add another property for the period of time which is again a formula
concat(formatDate(prop("日子"), "HH:mm"), "-", formatDate(end(prop("日子")), "HH:mm"))
and just enable this as one of the visible properties
Optional: set the card size to small and turn color columns on

thinking about the Blade of Marmora's reaction to Keith in the demon AU.
It's Shiro who ends up explaining to Kolivan what, exactly, a demon is. It is obvious to Kolivan that before the trials, the man was unwitting as to the true nature of the red paladin- of Krolia's son- and he quietly requests that Kolivan and the Blade not tell Keith he knows. To lie for him. Kolivan senses that this is a personal matter, and agrees.
He nearly doesn't allow Keith to join the Blade.
It seems... counter-intuitive, to allow in a member who is harmed by their own blades, Krolia's son or not. It is not in the same way druids are harmed by them- no, the luxite seems to burn Keith. All but Keith's own blade- which after its awakening, seems to have become harmless to him. He has it on good authority from the one called Pidge, the only other paladin who knows of Keith's true nature, that it was not like that before.
The way demons are described to him... they sound like the tales of the creatures of the rift. The ones that paladins fought so long ago, when there was still a Daibazaal to protect. Kolivan does not know what to make of that. He does not think it is a coincidence. It is something that could make Keith's demon blood a benefit...
...or a danger.
But if the lions of Voltron saw fit to select him as a paladin, then perhaps it is more of the former than the latter.

THE FRIEND
you love to feel the warmth of a friend's hand in yours. food tastes better when it is made by a friend. you are kind and forgiving, and you treat your friends with ultimate compassion. you love your friends. you are grateful for every friend that comes and goes in your life. you miss many friends. you wish more friends kept in contact with you. you wish that you were not so forgiving sometimes but everyone has their vices. your friends take precedence over everyone. you would not be anywhere without them. you want to, one day, hold them up, too. you want to be someone depended on - someone needed. you want to be needed by somebody. you want to be wanted in the same way you want.
your painting is "the three friends" by sebastian straub.

Don't suppose anyone out there has any recs for Aussie made fiction audio dramas???
So far I've listened to:
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity and Mortality
A Beginner's Guide to the Occult
Terror Forming
Nym's Nebulous Notions
I also listened to a bit of Margaret Moves to Mars and Blockbuster Radio and while they weren't bad neither of them were my thing. Idk I might try Blockbuster Radio again some other time...
So yeah what other Australian written/produced fiction podcasts/audio dramas can people recommend?

getting started with notion | a guide
are you tired of juggling multiple apps and tools to manage your work and personal life? are you storing your information all over the place and want one app to keep it all organized? notion, the all-in-one workplace can revolutionize the way you organize your life. whether your a student, developer, artist or content creator, notion can help streamline your workflow, increase productivity and stay on top of your tasks.
where to start?
in this guide, i'll take you through everything you need to know about notion from setting up your workspace to creating your first page and using templates. we'll cover all the basics so you can get started using notion right away.
let's dive in. consider checking out my free notion templates on my shop.
download the mobile app (ios & android)
download the desktop version (mac & windows)
getting started
this is what your empty workspace will look like:
blocks are the main functions of notion and are what make up the whole app. by using blocks, you can create text, headers, databases, quotes, maps, tables etc. here is a list of the blocks currently available in notion:
text
headers
images
toggle lists
to-do lists
tables
call outs
embeds
notion pages
pages are notions files or a collection of blocks listed above. as you write, you can edit, highlight, and create databases in your page. you will also you notice you can insert a new block by typing "/" command.
notion databases
database play a vital role in notion to help you manage and organize your pages. in simple terms, it monitors all the pages created by you and databases are actually pages themselves. each page in a database can be opened and viewed seperately. to help you further, you can contextualize, label and agument each individual item. you can also directly search the page you're looking for. database views also display the same content in different ways, whatever your preferences are
notion sidebar
the side bar is basically the navigation bar for all your pages. a nest that stores a page into a page without any limits, which can be rearranged by dragging and dropping. the sidebar contains several features and menu options that can be arranged and rearranged according to your needs.
notion sharing
notion is a big believer in sharing and collaborating in order to enhance user experience and give a clearer picture through feedback from friends, collegues, family and coworkers. notions permissions levels ensure that your guest viewer can have access to your content but only to what you allow. there are many ways in which you can share your database and pages with your folks in and out of workspaces.
