I know we've joked about the people in ISAT having absolutely horribly colored clothes because everyone's colorblind but in "reality" it's probably not that bad.

Since they're from "ye olden times" they probably only had earthy tones to choose from in the first place which are pretty hard to ruin.

We're looking at this from the perspective of colorblind people in our world where most people see color and everything has color (despite big corporations trying to remove it all except beige to make everything more sellable to more people).

There might have been remnants of the time where people did see color and had directions to make certain bright dyes that people kept following out of habit but other than that they'd probably just go with whatever dyes were easiest and held color the best. So probably mostly browns, and some grays or greens.

I don't want to make this into some huge essay about the cultural model of disability and how it relates to ISAT and how nobody sees color there so so it's not considered a disability there despite color vision still being more advantageous in most--but not all--ways. So "colorblind" would be a weird thing to call people in ISAT world, like how it'd be weird for a pigeon to call us "magnetic field-blind" (and not because the pigeon is talking) even though being able to see magnetic fields would have resulted in a lot fewer people dying in the wilderness after getting lost among other advantages. And something something about us looking at their color choices through the lens of our color-centric society and not theirs.
