i love ronance smut writers purely because they all collectively seem to forget that neither of these girls has ever slept with another girl, robin is (i believe) a whole ass virgin, and this is the 80s so wlw po/rn in particular isn't widely accessible and there's no googling "how to eat out a girl". y'all need way more, "robin had no idea what she was doing, she could only hope that she was doing it at least semi-well".

If you act like any one music app is better than another I will never respect you.
#idk I’m tired of saying to people that I use SoundCloud primarily and then have to suffer through “but spotify- but apple mu- but but but”#i. do. not. care.#i fucking hate Spotify bc unless you pay for it you can’t choose which song you’re actually gonna listen to first#and not only that but it fucking adds music to your playlists that you Don’t Choose Yourself. do not like that#and like I’d have used it anyways and paid for premium if I hadn’t used Apple Music first out of necessity#it was on the phone already. why should I have downloaded a separate app or so I thought#and when I got my first job I just paid for Apple Music subscription#and when I got too broke for that I used spotify for free but learned that I fucking hated it#so I went back to Apple Music for the longest time#till I started watching Corpse Husband streams and found out he made music too#and he mentioned in a stream that SoundCloud was better bc it doesn’t change the volume or smth#and I’m nothing if not influenced by parasocial relationships so I immediately sought him out on SoundCloud and realized he released more#on SoundCloud than anywhere else. so I started using it much more#and then I was too broke for Apple Music and just stopped using it at all in favor of SoundCloud#eventually got a SoundCloud subscription#and like even if I don’t have the money for it sometimes it’s still great?? bc not everything is behind the paywall and you can find new#artists really easily and it doesn’t add unnecessary shit to your playlists like SoundCloud#idk I just really like it more than anything else but I acknowledge the pros to the others#Spotify can do group playlists and does spotify wrapped and you can have friends on there#Apple Music is automatically on your iPhone or apple product and accessible (this is the only plus. the only thing I miss about it are the#playlists that I won’t get back)#okay the sentiment is getting away from me. basically I hate when people make me feel lesser for using SoundCloud.#a lot of people act like spotify is Number 1 followed by Apple Music and that everything else is absolute dogshit#like. can we all just fucking calm down#one thing I don’t like about SoundCloud: some artists don’t use it and their music is great and I wish they would post their shit on it too#a guy recommended me a good Japanese psych rock song from the 70s/80s but unfortunately the artist isn’t on SoundCloud and no user has#posted it themself.#people do that and then make sure the artist name is also in the title#i might just have to do it myself#i want it on my playlists

THE TOAST
Tumblr media
izuku midoryia x fem!reader
synopsis: a wedding toast to remember
part two
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you felt sick to your stomach.
this wasn't something that you'd volunteered to do, but izuku begged you too.
so you said yes. one, because you're a fucking pushover. two, you loved him more than anyone. taking your glass you rose to your feet standing next to the table. taking one of the forks you carefully tapped it against your glass. making sure it was loud enough for everyone to quiet down. heart hammering in your chest you placed the fork and glass down to grab the microphone being handed to you.
"thank you," you awkwardly made sure that it was the right distance from your mouth before continuing "sorry for interrupting your conversations everyone. it's just that the time for speeches has come upon us and i would like to start us off."
you took a look around the room with a smile on your face. it was a small group of people, but you had grown to know almost each and every one of them and were thankful they could come and support.
"it is amazing to see everyone. i am so glad that we could come together to support the newly married couple. izuku midoryia and ochako uraraka" you stepped aside to let everyone get a good view of the table beside you. sitting there was ochako uraraka, a pro-hero, an old acquaintance, and now a wife to your best friend.
izuku midoryia.
your best friend since day one. the guy who you came to with all your problems, and him coming to you in return. the guy who you've had a crush on for years, but never got the chance to express your feelings because he was always in and out with her. the guy who you'd now never have because he was a married man.
the applause in the room almost came close to the thundering of your heart in your chest. so much so that you almost didn't know when the apluse had finished or started. izuku had to snap just to get you out of your trance.
"y/n? you okay there?"
"uh, yeah sorry! just um- trying to remember what i wrote" you took a deep breath opening the paper you had been balling up in your fist "my name is y/n. i am izuku midoryia's best friend, sorry kacchan"
this made people laugh, and the blond moved his hand under the table just to flip you off. you couldn't help but chuckle "we've only known each other since the beginning of our first year, but we still clicked automatically. how we met is actually a funny story. one day i asked him about something all might related. i am looking back on how much of a mistake that was.." you mumbled into the mic making people chuckle. izuku put on mock offense with his hand over his chest.
"i take offense to that!"
"too bad! it isn't your speech. when izuku asked me if i wanted to be his best woman i said ‘what the hell? no. that cannot be a real thing’. but he mentioned it would mean a lot to him so i said yes, and i am so grateful i did. because everyone should be able to experience a love like these two”
you were slowly starting to get the hang of this. the people's laughter and enthusiasm alleviated your unease.
though it came back as quickly as it left.
you glanced over to notice that ochako had taken his hand over the table. the way she moved you could tell she was squeezing his in comfort. something you couldn’t do.
“when izuku first started to like ochako. it started out with small looks across the classroom. how he would blush so much when he talked to her. it was obvious to everyone, well, everyone but each other. it was one day in our third year that he really got serious about asking her out. so we set up a little proposal and he asked her out that week”
as you paused, ochako leaned to whisper “i never knew she helped you with that. i though it was just you izu”
he just shrugged whispering back “yeah, she helped me with most of my stuff back then. you know i was awkward”
“those weeks turned into months, which turned into years. when he told me he wanted to propose i could see that this was it. he had found the person he wanted to be with for the rest of his life”
izuku turned to ochako placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. a lump started to form in your throat. the memories from that day coming flooding back. the dread that washed over you when you heard ochako and marriage in the same sentence. at least when they were dating you at least had a chance. but marriage? game over.
"so he set up a beautiful proposal for a beautiful woman" you gave ochako a small smile which she returned.
both you and ochako had become.. cordial over the years. she would never exclude you from anything, but you simply didn’t fly in the same circles.
“to end off this speech, i just want to leave you with this quote that i spent weeks.. searching the internet for" the crowd laughed as you pulled up your phone "love is like wind, you can't see it but you can feel it. now being honest, these two prove the quote wrong. you can see how much they really love each other. how they sacrifice. how they would jump into open flames for the other, and have”
you didn’t even notice the tears running down your cheeks, nor the cracks in your voice as you continued. not until you heard the quiet ‘awe’s’ and ‘he’s so lucky to have a friend like her’.
you avoided eye contact with him at all costs. knowing that if you did look over and see the subtle scrunch of his eyebrow which you would understand to be a silent ‘what’s wrong’ that would send you over the edge.
so instead you took a deep breath, wiped your face, and took the champagne glass lifting it up.
“so let us raise a toast to the newlyweds. wishing them a lifetime and more celebrating the love they found in each other”
with everyone’s glass raised in agreement, they drank. to the newlyweds, and unbeknownst to them, your misfortune.

Guess I have to make a main thread about this. Someone decided to fight with me in the notes on this post just yesterday about Gaza and made select responses of mine into a callout thread here, where they say my anger towards the IDF is all a cover for antisemitism. This didn't make any sense, because they said they were also against the IDF killing civilians, and I repeatedly said that Jewish people aren't to blame for the IDF or represented by the IDF in any way, putting us supposedly both on the exact same page. What gerry leaves out of their own screenshots, and I'd actually forgotten, is that at first they came at me from an angle that I was disrespecting the victims in Gaza.
Tumblr media
So this implies they feel gaza is being subjected to a genocide, and a pretty big one, since they're upset my language made it sound "smaller and tamer." When it becomes obvious that I do in fact consider it a serious genocide, that's when they switch over to saying that my criticism of Netanyahu or the IDF is inherently an attack on Jewish people.
Tumblr media
Notice I never actually said "zionists" in this screenshot, even, but that I defined "regular humans" as humans who don't want to kill innocent families. That would automatically include Jewish people since they overall do not wish to kill anyone, but have in fact spent quite a lot more time trying not to get killed. I believe there may be entire books about this fact! I think there's even whole museums about it, if I'm not mistaken?!
Tumblr media
So then they pivot to saying I'm an antisemite because I said the IDF and its supporters can "burn in hell," and they say "invoking hell" is an antisemitic dogwhistle, which is definitely news to me?!
Tumblr media
So I tried to clarify, again, that I'm only angry at the people who are themselves killing civilians and the "pro-genocide maniacs" who defend the killing of civilians, which they responded to as if I had "lumped them in" with those. You can just see right there that I didn't make any assumption that they were a part of that at all. Thanks to their earlier comments I still thought I was speaking to someone 100% against the IDF's actions, but every time I said that the killers and their advocates alone are bad, they've framed it in some new way as me just not liking anyone Jewish. So now that you have that context:
Tumblr media
...In a response to an ask, they finally just say they hated me to begin with and set out with the intention to "bait and sealion" me (their own words!!) into saying something they hoped would be antisemitic, which they believe was successful despite me never saying anything about Jews other than "this isn't their fault." They saw what they admittedly wanted to, so strongly, that they show me saying "this isn't the fault of Jews" as evidence that I blame Jews. But speaking of people "going mask off"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In multiple more recent posts and asks, this person appears to say that they simply do not believe the IDF is really targeting children or ambulances or relief aid, that "none of those are true," and the deliberate targeting of any children is supposedly just a conspiracy theory??? So I guess they did successfully troll me and I feel like a real gullible dumbass, because the only reason I continued responding to this person in the first place was that they said they were in fact against the ongoing massacre. Instead, these comments sound like they think the IDF is being unfairly vilified by dishonest propagandists, and that's why they hated me enough to try and fish for callout fuel. That's the nastiest fucking thing anyone's yet pulled on me about this and it's not one that I'm just going to ignore. I should have smelled a troll early on and just blocked them, but it's SO hard for me to suspect ulterior motives. I always go in thinking people mean well, and that there's just a miscommunication we can work out. I almost feel like this individual noticed that and tried to exploit it?!? Unfortunately I'm sure this kind of thing will happen again simply because I don't intend to obediently shut up about what's being done to Gaza. It's not logistically possible for the death and destruction to all just be accidental collateral damage. Don't let anybody ever fool you into thinking the IDF is the face of the Jewish community or vice-versa, just as you can't let anyone fool you into thinking Hamas represents all Palestinians. Especially don't engage this person, stop doing so if you have been, and block them.

How to feel sexy instead of cute:
Before we dive into it I personally feel everyone is blessed with a set of attributes and you should not force yourself out of your way to change it. True essence blossoms when you accept yourself and add to it rather than subtracting things.
Being said that I also understand we all have occasions where we want to look sexy and honestly as girls we should play a little with our looks.
Next whatever I am saying here is not at all applicable to girls below 18. Darling go and study it's not your arena for now.
This post is completely based on personal experience so take it with a grain of salt.
1) Define your sexy.
No no I am not talking about manifestations and subliminal here. Clearing this before hand. What I am asking you to do is what you find sexy. What makes you tingle.
An example for me is being sexy translates to being dressed in off shoulders, wild curly hairs, adorned in jewellery, outfits that have a teasing touch, being a little mean, sassy comebacks, untouchable aura and obviously having a "I don't care what they say. I am in my own league." vibe.
2) Makeup
I am not a pro at this but I surely know the type of makeup that transforms my face into a sultry mess. Trial and error is the way here.
3) Outfits and jewellery
This is a no brainer that you should experiment in various outfits and pick those that make you look and feel sexy. A side note make sure you are comfortable in them. There's no point in wearing clothes that you have zero idea on how to carry. I have seen people wearing short dresses and being called vulgar because they had no idea on how to carry them and then another person wearing more revealing clothes still being called graceful and hot at the same time.
So it's kinda in the energy I guess.
4) Being comfortable in being sexy and a little bit objectified
Harsh truth here but if you are planning to be sexy you shouldn't quickly take offense in being objectified. I know it's wrong but then that's how the world works. Until and unless it's harmless do not react and accept the compliments graciously. If they overstep the boundaries and say something vulgar put them in their place until then it's fine. Be comfortable in getting side eyes and stares. You will get them alot!
5) Unwavering confidence
Know you are looking the part! Know you are that girl( if it makes sense)! No self doubts. I know everyone has it but in public concealment is the key. Move like you own the room and have a demeanor that speaks, " I know I am hot." Again people will try to bring you down so instead of letting it get to you either ignore or give a befitting reply depending on the situation.
6) Practice it alone so you shine in public
This helped me personally and still does. For every outfit I wear I have a personality curated and I practice it alone first in front of the mirror. Like an actor. I have a white sleeveless crop top with V neck I have attributed it to the graceful corporate babe personality and whenever I wear that I make sure to act like it. So I mix a little bit of hot and cold vibes to it. You get the point right?
7) Dance and music
The art forms you consume goes a long way to how you express yourself. Human beings are great at mimicking. After all we are monkeys at core. Invest your time in this and you will automatically see the result. It's a practical tip. Do it to find out.
8) Sensual touch
Even though I struggle with this at times because I don't have much sexual experience, I read somewhere that if you want to give a sensual and slutty vibe without coming off as vulgar softly and sensually touch the things around you. Pick up the glass slowly, slightly graze your fingers on the table or a cloth or whatever you feel okay with as if you are feeling the texture of it. Be present in your body and in tune with your senses. Slow down and don't be in a rush while doing mundane tasks. Trust me it works like hell. The amount of times I have been told I come off so graceful and classy by slowing down and doing things carefully and gracefully. Watch old barbie movies girls and see how they pick up things and move in routine works. You will get what I mean.
9) Standards
Nothing screams being sexy than having standards and knowing oneself. It's the key to it. Know you are not everyone's cup of tea and be comfortable with it. Be disgustingly educated and intelligent. Develop wit and sass because once you start working on this you will automatically start developing standards. Make sure to stick to them.
10) Untouchable
Gatekeep yourself. Don't try to impress people. Rather let them impress you (please note use this according to the situation. Don't do this in front of an HR or client or boss) Don't be swayed by people's money, success or looks. Know they are standing in their truth and you are standing in yours. Their light doesn't diminish yours. Be picky and choosy with who you associate yourself with. Have a life and don't be overly friendly. Network but don't people please. Be a person of substance not a doormat. Be private about your life and have a close knit circle with trustworthy people. It establishes influence and demand. Be open towards people but not so open that every other person knows your life history and problems.
That's all for today's show on ash-says. Stay tuned for more illegal tricks and explosive opinions.

An apology:
I reposted a post stating if you were Zionist to unfollow me as I am a pro-Palestinian account. However, it has been brought to my attention that the term "Zionist" does NOT automatically mean they are in support of the genocide of the Palestinian people.
I apologized to the person directly and explained I was going off this information because it came from Jewish people, organizations, and Palestinians. And that it was my understanding that they were using the term in order to stop anti-semetic language from becoming common place again.
If you or someone you know was also hurt by this, I completely apologize. I was going by what I knew, but I have clearly been misinformed. I should not have reposted that persons post. I should have created my own instead, which simply stated I am in support of Palestine and do not wish to interact with those who are not. Regardless of their religious affiliations.
Thank you to the person who took the time and energy to educate me. I am extremely grateful you did as you were the first to tell me.
-Britain.

i’m sorry i don’t want to sound stupid (tbh i’ve always struggle to fully understand cause my country is mostly pro-israel so they spread a lot of misinformation) can someone be pro-free palestine but being against hamas and what they are doing at the same time? cause in my country they automatically call you antisemitist when you are free palestine cause they say you supporting palestine means you support hamas too. and also there is this thing that whenever i tell someone that palestines have the right to live in peace and that it was their territory/land first, jews tell me that soil is “holy ground” and that a thousand years ago jews used to live there. im sorry, probably im damn stupid asking this but i can’t ask anyone around me cause everyone starts calling me antisemitist and i don’t consider myself that just cause i support palestine
Don’t apologize! It’s not a stupid question at all. Many people are pro-Palestine and recognize that Hamas is a violent extremist group. And while it’s hard to say for sure what exactly they’ve done because the IDF is notorious for making false claims in order to justify the violence they commit, it’s clear that they are not a group that should be in any kind of position of power. The important thing to recognize is that Hamas only exists because of the ongoing occupation of Palestinians. They are not the cause of the problem, merely a symptom of it. They also certainly don’t represent the majority of the Palestinian people’s beliefs, but right now many Palestinians see them as their only option of having any hope of freedom. So, yes, I fully support Palestinian liberation, but I also believe that the people deserve better than Hamas.
As for the “holy ground” argument, I firmly believe that no religion gives anyone the right to steal land from someone else. Colonization is NEVER justified. It is not anti-Semitic to say that; it is basic human decency. If the Israelis truly wish to live on that land, then they need to do so WITH the Palestinian people, not at their expense. There is no justification for Israel’s cruel and dehumanizing treatment of Palestinians. I’m really sorry that people have called you anti-Semitic for supporting Palestine but please don’t take it to heart. Those accusations have absolutely no basis in reality; they are nothing more than deliberate intimidation tactics meant to stop people from speaking out. Zionism is most certainly not the same thing as Judaism, and there are many, MANY Jewish people, including Holocaust survivors, who support Palestine because they recognize that Jewish values teach them to oppose apartheid. It definitely sucks that it’s so hard to find accurate information about Palestine since the mainstream media is so heavily biased towards pro-Israel propaganda, but fortunately, there are some really great videos on YouTube. I highly recommend checking out Hasanabi; I think he’s doing an excellent job covering this issue. You’re not stupid for trying to learn more, so don’t apologize!

Hot take: the idea of Grimm Human Hybrids suck.
Cinder is a person with Grimm augmented limbs and body parts, and they suck. The designs are cool, and they do cool stuff, but if someone else can decide to turn the off or make you feel intense pain at any time, it's not worth it.
Plus, this means that she's in constant servitude to Salem, too. There's a lot of con for very little pros.
Don't get me started on the Hound, the most badass mother fucking Grimm to ever walk Remnant and so cool that even Venom would've called him his son. Yup basically a zombie in a slimey boney Tar suit.
I can agree with you on the first part. Cinder Grimm effectively became a punching bag for Salem and the worst match up for Ruby.
The hound however, is a different story for me because I always interpreted that turning normal people into grimm just doesn’t really work out but Silver Eyed warriors can be turned into complex grimm like The Hound because they are literally built to repel grimm, so they can endure such a transformation.
What made that interesting to me was it answers why a group of people like that would be hiding or go missing, and it would’ve made for more intense situations to see another grimm that capable and automatically know that was a warrior. This is a problem.
I guess in a way it’s a similar level of world building/story telling to anytime a bleach character performed a Cero. Anytime someone new pulled out that attack it’s automatically a “oh shit, they’re tough. That should be dodged” and I like that kind of detail.

Long Overdue About Me
Hello. My name is Nat or Nato Fpersonifications, whichever one strikes your fancy. They/them unless I say otherwise (usually if we’ve been DMing for a while).
I text either like a robot or a child on a sugar high depending on my mood, so expect lots of tonal whiplash.
I make groups of people… people. That’s it. I’m more partial to fictional groups of people than real-life groups of people because I’m afraid of conflict and there’s less chance I’ll do something wrong with fiction. I also enjoy hurting fictional characters as a genre.
I primarily personify SCP GOIs; we have a discord server. Ask me or @loquaciousnewt for the link if you want it. (I’m also in a qpr with them.) I reblog what other people from Hetalia/Countryhumans/Welcome to the Table/Scandinavia and the World/Cityverse/you get the gist make.
My favorite SCP canons are, in order, No Return’s Vanguard timeline, From 120’s Archives, Site-17 Deepwell, and Third Law. I will go rabid every time Vanguard is mentioned or a new article about them is posted. I may be projecting slightly onto their personif.
My favorite SCP articles are 7777 (three-way Upper Administration power struggle), 6086 (Site-17 Deepwell lab whump), 4051 (same as before), and anything at all about Vanguard. Especially VNP-8050 and VNP-8002, both of which are about the guy being faced with a moral dilemma and choosing correctly.
My favorite SCP tale is The First Occult Flame War because it’s incredibly fucking funny.
My favorite SCP authors are, in no particular order, Nagiros, Pendantique, ROUNDERHOUSE, and Ralliston.
My favorite genre of SCP content is Site dossiers for reasons that should be obvious.
I will also occasionally post about personal things, but that will always be tagged as personal, vent, and/or tw [x] as applicable.
If you’re a fan of personifs and enjoy the SCP Foundation, you are automatically opted into the list of people I consider friends. Feel free to start or ask to start a conversation even if I’ve never seen you before.
I also coined the shortening personif, so it’s safe to assume anyone else you see using the term is a friend of mine.
If I don’t like you I’ll just block you. I don’t participate in pro/anti discourse or most other kinds of discourse, but if I think something’s important enough I’ll reblog it here.
I’m not autistic. I’ve had to convince nearly every single person I’ve talked to at length of that fact so I’m saying it here, I just copied this website’s cues a little too well and also happen to have the ability to have special interests (/lh)
Some things about me that are actually true are that I’m probably ace, that I have a very fluffy cat, that Vocaloid and bedroom pop are my favorite genres of music, and that I have a genuine phobia.

Did people always pick apart the wales marriage or did it happen when Meghan and harry got together and started being clingy? I remember seeing something on twitter from their documentary that said 70 percent of the hate tweets were from 83 accounts and I feel like someone needs to do that when it comes to the waleses because how does a tweet taken out of context get thousands of likes automatically?🙄
I really don't know, you'd have to find someone who's been a part of the fandom longer than I have. I ended up here accidentally when I went hunting to find out if I was the only one who had a bad feeling about Meg lol
oho, buckle up ladies. They've been picking apart the Wales marriage since 1pm on April 30, 2011. From 2011 - 2015ish, it was done on certain corners of the internet, like Kaiser's section of Celebitchy, and most people didn't pay any attention to it because it was such a tinhatty conversation.
The game changed in 2016ish, after Charlotte was born.
First, Charles's and Andrew's marriages imploded after the births of their second child with the blame falling on the women. These people basically said that why should Kate be any different and started going after her. There's a period of time after Charlotte was born, in late 2015 or early 2016, when Kate suddenly dropped a ton of weight, which these people interpreted to mean as there were problems in the Cambridge marriage that caused enormous stress for Kate and speculated that she stopped eating/kept working out. This chunk of time also overlaps with a period of time where Kate had some engagements with Ben Ainslie in which they were flirty and friendly with each other.
These bloggers/this section of the internet decided that William had cheated on Kate 2015/2016ish, Kate's overnight weight loss was due to stress from his cheating, and she retaliated by having a brief fling with Ben Ainslie. Elizabeth caught wind of this and forced the Cambridges into marital counseling because the monarchy couldn't survive another divorce. (One of these bloggers who believed and perpetuated this is now rather quite popular and is now considered one of the experts here on royal tumblr. I disagree with her take on this and stopped following her because of it.)
This section of the internet also believes that Kate would only forgive William for his cheating if he gave her another baby, which is how Louis came to be. It's very possible that this is the true origin story of the Rose Rumor since we know that Meghan was paying attention to the royal blogs when she was dating Harry.
Second, the other gamechanger in 2016 was, of course as we know, Meghan. Her fans brought a ton of toxicity to the royal fandom that was kind of a "safer in numbers" mentality where people like Kaiser who openly hated Kate and these other blogs who openly picked on the Cambridge marriage (like the bloggers who speculated about the 2015/2016 years) were enabled to speak out more, and more loudly, about the problems they perceived in the then-Cambridge marriage and Kate as a person.
So the "Kate haters" were now speaking as a louder group, which caused the "Kate defenders" to start speaking up and everything kept escalating to where it soon broke out into a fandom war with everyone choosing sides:
Anti-Kate because they wanted to marry William.
Anti-Meghan because they wanted to marry Harry.
Neutral but they're openly misogynistic and sexist about hating Kate.
Neutral but they really hate Meghan because they're closet racists.
Harry stans
Meghan stans (Sussex Squad)
Pro-William/Cambridge because he's the future king.
Anti-Harkles because they're not William and Kate.
Anti-Cambridges because they're not sharing with Meghan and Harry.
Diana stans
Kate stans (who I think are now called Wales Wailers)
The actual neutral middle who's just here for jewels and clothes.
Formerly "actual neutral middle" blogs who had hinky feelings about Meghan.
People with no interest in the BRF
People with no interest in the Cambridges or Sussexes
To answer anon's question about how a tweet could be wildly taken out of context for thousands of likes -- it's because of the fandom war and all these different sides.
IMO, the fandom war was never really resolved. Everyone mostly keeps to their "side" of royal tumblr now. Every once in a while a couple of them clash but it ends quickly and then everyone goes back to their corners. I think the pandemic, the lockdowns, and the lack of royal content because of lockdowns caused a lot of bloggers to chill out on Wales v Harkles - they either left royal-watching all together or found a new "thing" to focus on instead. (I have a theory about this but it's controversial.)
anon thank you so much for writing this all out! you're a real gem, and please give us your theory!!! i'd love to hear it
(i read it while i was eating dinner which is why i'm posting it so quick after the last ask, i already know what they said lol)

On one of the staggeringly large number of white lady academics who pretended to be not-white
Tumblr media
In a sad attempt to keep up engagement, I've decided to post some things I wrote in personal correspondence over the last few years but never bothered to translate into full-fledge posts. Going through these emails, I was astounded at how much I've lost the ability to process the timeline of political events since COVID. Things that I would have sworn happened a couple of months ago actually happened 5 years ago; stuff that seems like ancient history was actually just from this past summer, etc. I think there's some value in recapitulating some of these events, give ourselves a chance to reflect on how much and how little things have evolved.
This piece was originally written in early 2021:
I'm not in STEM and I only pay as much attention to MeToo bullshit as I need to, so the MeTooSTEM movement and its drama passed me by. Basically, it was started or popularized by a lady neuroscientist named BethAnn McLaughlin. By early last year she began facing the type of predictable criticisms that inevitably wreck all leftist movements, regardless of legitimacy. Basically people agreed with her movement but were upset that she had too much of a leadership role, didn't center the correct voices, sometimes criticized people from more disadvantaged groups, etc. Here's a neat example, from the piece linked above:
Last month, McLaughlin tweeted angrily at Hontas Farmer, a transgender woman of color who teaches physics at the City Colleges of Chicago. In a thread about student–faculty relationships, Farmer noted that it would be “unenforceable to forbid relationships.” “Get off my time line with your pro-preying on students garbage,” McLaughlin responded. “Grown ups are talking. #STEMTrollAlert.”
While this lady seems like a vicious shithead, it's important to note that this type of behavior is common in woke discourses. It's the natural result of a morally certain culture is which all dissent is considered proof of evil. In this case, I happen to agree with the trans woman: while student-teacher relationships are gross, blanket bans are unenforceable and will most likely wind up harming the least empowered teachers. But this teacher's concerns were only allowed to stand because of her status as a trans woman--Laura Kipnis made the exact same argument several years ago, before the MeToo furor had really kicked off, and it nearly destroyed her career.
The point here is that no one is actually arguing for or against the merit or logic of certain positions; it's all jockeying over who is even allowed to have a position in the first place, and then demanding that everyone else defer to this person's position, which is automatically validated by their identity statuses.
Nothing in the Buzzfeed profile seems very damning or specific. I'm not a fan of MeToo, but we see here the same general hatred of strong leadership that seems to plague all left spaces. Arguments in regards to how funding should be spent and what actions should be prioritized--things that happen in literally any organization of more than a few people and can only be resolved by designating leadership--are presented in terms of bodies and spaces and centering voices and yada yada yada. Once again, it's not about the morality or efficacy of the actions taken by this organization. It's about whose identity imbues them with moral authority.
Buzzfeed seemed to have a particular hard on for this lady so they posted another piece in February of this year, documenting even more dysfunction in her movement. Again, she seems like a shithead and her movement's goals are usually not good, but the accusations against her were still vague, woke bullshit that amounted to people framing an organizational power struggle as a civil rights issue. And this is where things get interesting...
What does a white lady shithead do when she finds herself automatically unable to criticize people who fall above her on the hierarchy of oppression? Why, she pretends to be an indigenous lady shithead! She fabricated the existence of an ASU professor of Hopi descent who posted under the name of sciencing_bi. Sciencing_bi just so happened to agree with everything the white lady posted, and was fiercely protective of the white lady when she found herself getting attacked by non-white people.
But then, sadly, the made up Hopi professor succumbed to Lady Corona last week. Woke STEM twitter mourned her passing by angrily blaming ASU for their failure to protect employees of color. This caused ASU to release a statement saying that, uhh, no one has died and they have absolutely no idea what any of these lunatics are talking about.
Just--dear god. At what point does hubris give way and become delusion? How insulated must someone feel to believe that they can not only create but kill off a fictional persona whose primary utilitity is to brown-wash your own opinions?
These are the people who have become the morality police of the twenty twenties. These people are the ones who decide what you can or cannot say or believe. They are insane and and they are stupid, and they control our world.

National Clean Your Home Month Day 12
Today was a big production because of the first item on the list:
- I cleaned all my CPAP machine parts that needed cleaning (for the tubing and headgear this generally meant rinse, wash with soap, soak in vinegar-water solution for some of the parts, wash in soap again to get the vinegar smell out, rinse again; the reservoirs got wiped down, soaked and vinegar solution, and then put through a dishwasher cycle in the top rack). I have not been working nonstop on it all day since a lot of it is just waiting around for things to soak, but the project has been going all day. The tubes and headgear aren't dry yet but hopefully by tonight all of them will be. I really need to pay attention to the calendar reminders that tell me to do this in smaller increments on a more regular basis lol.
- Inspired by @likearumchocolatesouffle to make a dent in my online banking and balancing my statements with my registers. A good thing, too, because I found out that the automatic credit card payment that was supposed to go through on Thursday didn't, so even though I don't want to spend any time tomorrow calling up the credit union to complain and try to get any late charges dropped, at least now I know I need to. And I paid it manually.
- Currently soaking the kitchen faucet in vinegar solution because might as well make as much use of it as possible before dumping it down the drain.
- Put away my remaining laundry from Friday/yesterday.
- Put away the bike saddle bag that had dried (the other one is still wet but wow I can nonetheless tell how much cleaner it is than before I washed it)
- Put a rain cover on the bike to store it for winter
- Stared at and thought about the comforter project I mentioned yesterday
The podcasts I listened to while cleaning and things I read while waiting for things to soak/wash:
I listened to the most recent episode of Nobody Should Believe Me, which focused on disheartening breaking news. To get in a better head space, I then listened to the most recent episode of Overcoming Compulsive Hoarding, which was about the pros and cons of ethical consumerism. (The podcaster's main focus is always on how whatever topic she's covering affects people with hoarding disorder, which I don't have, but a lot of what she talks about is applicable to people in other circumstances as well. This week's episode was super thought-provoking, and I know I will keep thinking about it in the coming weeks. I really enjoyed it.)
I stared at Tumblr a lot but then I ran out of new post to read, so I then read Living Bird magazine, which is published by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Most interesting articles to me were one about the effects of geomagnetic fluctuations on bird migration and another on the encroachment of woodlands into Nebraskan prairie due to inappropriate land management post-colonization, and how people are now trying to reverse the trend.
Oh, and I posted a new chapter of my fic!

okay so i’m usually more of a silent follower (i’ve only like sent one ask ever) but i kinda love your posts/talks about things that you love (even if it’s not necessarily something i care about,,i just love it when people talk about their interests it’s amazing),, so i’m kinda curious about why do you think sos should have won over midnights,,, not saying that sos is bad or anything i actually love the album and sza but i was rooting for midnights honestly and personally think it deserves the title for many reasons,,, like i’m NOT saying that sos didn’t deserve to be aoty on the contrary, all the albums that were nominated are amazing and all had their big impact and the title is very subjective and ngl, this is one of those years where the nominees are all so good it’s actually quite a tough competition to choose between, but personally i found that midnights deserved it the most so i’m actually really curious to know your opinion on why sos should have gotten it
(i’ve already seen so much discourse about this for the past week on twitter but obviously. it’s twitter. so they don’t have any valable reasons except just pure hatred, misogyny, slut shaming and obviously racism)
Okay, so first off, thank you for sending in this ask and allowing me to speak about something I care about!! Second of all, when you added racism in the "don't have any valuable reasons section" what did you mean by that? I'm not coming for you or anything. I'm just curious if you meant racism towards Taylor or if you mean racism towards SZA.
anyways, now for my thoughts.
So, while I obviously agree that SOS is a great album, the part I disagree with is Midnights being a good album. I don't like it; I never did, and I probably never will. And this isn't me being a Taylor hater; I am a Taylor Swift enjoyer and have sat down and listened to a few of her albums. While none of them absolutely stunned me, I do think she's an overall good musician and can make a relatively good body of work. Midnights is a snoozefest. It's boring and doesn't hold a candle to the rest of her discography, which I feel fine saying because I know there are a significant amount of swifties and non-swifties alike that agree.
To me, midnights is nothing special, and most of the songs blend together. It's not completely bad, though; it has its good moments, but the many cons, i.e., boring instrumentals, mediocre lyrics, no super deep meanings, etc. outweigh the very few pros, i.e., Snow On The Beach ft. Lana Del Rey, but more importantly, Snow On The Beach ft. more Lana del Rey. And I just can't get behind Midnight's winning album of the year after being the pinnacle of mediocrity.
Now, if you wanna talk about impact, let's talk about impact. Midnights broke tons of records, most notably taking up all ten top spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a feat that no other artist has managed to accomplish. But that wasn't because the album was good or because the general public was tuned in; it's because of streaming culture, because, like most fandoms these days, swifties are rabid and reaching for the charts. That, combined with the sheer size of Taylor Swift's fanbase, means that the album was bound to do well regardless of whether it was good or not.
SOS, on the other hand, obviously didn't chart nearly as well as midnights (although it definitely did chart, like, let's get that straight bc Snooze didn't leave the chart at all last year). But that doesn't automatically mean that it was less impactful, because charts aren't that reliable these days so you have to find other means of calculating impact, and this is when we turn to social media.
(I'll be using tiktok for reference as I feel that since the app relies on music as its #1 source of content, that's the best representation for my argument)
So I'm an avid TikTok user, chronically online, way too invested in drama that doesn't involve me, a loser, blah blah blah whatever, who cares. The point is that I spend enough time on TikTok to be able to observe many different trends going on at the same time and their musical origins. There are so. many. songs. on SOS that trended on tiktok. You could not escape SZA on that app, not even if you wanted to.
Kill Bill, Seek & Destroy, Low, Blind, Snooze, Ghost in the Machine, Shirt, I Hate U, Good Days, etc.
All songs that I've heard on TikTok at one point or another, some of them having their own designated trends to go along with certain lines, and I'm sure there's more I missed.
This specific point means so much to me because I need you to understand that I didn't listen to SOS in full until WAY into 2023 (the album came out in 2022 for reference), and each track was so familiar because I had already heard so many of them on TikTok.
Now, I'm not saying that there weren't any songs on midnights that trended on TikTok. Obviously, there were. i.e., Karma, bejeweled, Midnight Rain, that one part in The Great War, etc., but when I say that most of the songs from Midnights that trended on TikTok were pretty much always used in the context of Taylor Swift, I mean that. I cannot stress this enough. If there was a song from Midnights playing in the video, then I can guarantee that Taylor was being mentioned in that same video, whether it be the eras tour, speculation about her and Joe Alwyn's breakup, her and Travis Kelce, speculation about which Taylor's version album was coming out next, or literally anything pertaining to her at all.
You might think that this is a stupid point, but to me, it's a good example of the fact that it wasn't an album the general public was interested in. And I think for an award like Album of the Year at the Grammys, the album in question should be one that is either objectively good, incredibly poetic, and thoughtful with a deep message, or beloved by the general public, and midnights wasn't any of those.
As for the misogyny and slutshaming, I'd never in a million years agree with that and don't condone that by any means. Pure hatred, if unwarranted, isn't something I really care about either because I'm a hater at my core and have a lot of one-sided beef with people who don't know me. But I will say that most people I know who don't like Taylor Swift do actually have one or two valid reasons. It's not that hard to find them, what with white feminism, not using her platform for good, dating a known racist, and committing ecological warfare, amongst other things.
If the racism you're referring to is in regards to people bringing up her privilege as a white woman, and it bothers you that people are bringing it up, then I'm sorry, but I'm not the person you want to talk to about that because I won't agree. The Grammys have a history of snubbing black and POC artists in general to favor their white counterparts; in fact, the entire music industry has a history of it, and this situation isn't any different in my eyes.
Anyway, that's most of all I have to say. Thank you for asking again, I'd love to hear why you thought Midnights should have won.

Unlike ALL of their sequels, I'm not anti First Class. However, as more time passes, it's beyond clear that being the best X-Men movie truly isn't saying much. These flicks almost always fumble the ball in making mutants sympathetic, but following the CIA massacre, a severe lack of logic plagues characterization, especially regarding Raven and Erik. More on them momentarily.
While the massacre is a nicely filmed scene, its aftermath is handled terribly. To a jarring degree, considering the realistic emotions during it. Remember that in 1962, Pearl Harbor would be as fresh in many people's memories as 9/11 is to us now. An attack on an entire CIA facility to that magnitude would be another day of infamy. An executive order would have been issued to track and lock down mutants all over the country, complete with anti-mutant riots in the street. The really sad part is that because of how mercilessly ruthless the hellfire club was, there would be more arguments to justify the backlash than oppose it. Is it any wonder those different military forces attempted to bomb that beach?
Also regarding Shaw's band, how can anyone watch such overpowered beings needlessly stab, shoot, and burn all of those defenseless people and feel even an ounce of pity for mutants? Shaw's grandiose speech about how they will all eventually be captured and enslaved is utterly laughable, especially coming from him. This version of Shaw has powers so overblown that he could have single-handedly taken down the nazi regime, liberated those camps, and given mutation a heroic image. But no, somehow donning a swastika, torturing a mutant child, and trying to nuke the planet seemed like the superior strategies. It's exactly the same with Erik and those missiles. If he had simply seized and hurled them far away into the water, he would have proven that mutation itself is not the enemy. He and Surrogate Nazi Daddy both started something then wanted to play victim when their self-made enemies retaliated.
On the subject of Shaw Jr., it is reasonable that Erik would be wary of the CIA possibly having ulterior motives and hooking Charles up to random machines. However, with the massacre on top of learning that both he and Shaw are mutants, why isn't Erik disgusted with his very existence? Why does he automatically take a prideful stance? His powers are what got him on Shaw's radar in the first place, Shaw killed his very human mother, Erik turned out to be mutated like his tormentor, and said tormentor led a gang of other mutants in a murder spree against dozens of people who only wanted to capture Shaw, including the agent who housed and advocated for them. HOW does any of that add up to being anti-homo sapien, let alone pro-mutant? This is why Erik's longtime nemesis had absolutely NO business being a mutant! If anything, he should have been a regular human who wanted to exploit and recreate mutant powers in himself out of envy.
Onto Raven, her kitchen conversation with Charles already made no sense with that asinine "pets are always cuter when they're little, right?" remark. You're making that accusation towards someone who introduces you as his sister after a guy you hardly know just compared you to a tiger and encouraged you to walk around naked like some undignified lesser being? However, what really piles on the stupid is when she claims "no matter how bad the world gets, you don't want to be against it, do you?" WHAT is this bad of which she speaks? The worst deed she personally witnessed was committed by mutants, something that openly horrified her. What, is she referring to those two agents who mildly teased them a little? The one desperate agent who offered up the young mutants only after watching the cruel murders of his colleagues? Or is the bad all the people who Hank- another mutant- pointed out will never find her blue form beautiful? Something no one is required to feel towards her and something most would be unable to do due to biological evolutionary reasons that govern the laws of attraction. Absolutely nothing justifies her turn to Team Terrorism.
In trying to make Charles out to be this franchise's 'uncle Tom' of sorts, all they ended up doing was making Erik and Raven into glory-seeking, narcissistic, nonsensical, opportunistic, narrow-minded bigots.

Shota Aizawa X Male Reader X Hizashi Yamada Pt 2
You were getting the hang of this new job rapidly and in the span of almost 3 months, you had some of the kids in love with music and others who liked it. That was your goal as a music teacher, you wanted to give these children something fun to do. They're always stressed and worried about school work and their future and what it holds, it's like everyone else forgets that they are only 15-16 years old. They don't know everything and will make plenty of mistakes and it's good if they make it here instead of out there in the real world. The real world is cruel and you won't get a second chance if you make a mistake. You even managed to grow close with Aizawa and Yamada, especially after the USJ attack and Kamino Ward Incident. It also became excessively harder and harder to hide your growing feelings for them. Why were your feelings trying to be a homewrecker?
"Earth to Y/N." You jumped looking up from your paperwork to see who was talking to you and it was Nem.
"I-I heard absolutely nothing you said." She rolled her eyes grabbing a chair to pull up next to you forcing you to scoot over and make room for her.
"Oh, that much was clear darling." Without a warning, she pulled you into a hug you automatically returned it knowing how the woman got if you didn't hug her. You'll be lying if you said you didn't love the affection.
"Your hugs are nice Nem." I wish Aizawa and Yamada would hug you the way she does. You mentally shook your head to rid yourself of those thoughts. Honestly, it made no sense for you to like them in the first place. They were married for fucks sake! That didn't stop your wishful thinking though that maybe, just maybe they are polyamory.
"You disappeared on me again love." You jerked getting out of her arms but she left her hand on your shoulder to steady you
"I'm sorry Nem." You chuckled nervously tugging at your collar and feeling your face flush. You were trying to calm down but the way that she was looking at you as if scrutinizing you and looking for your deepest secrets made you flush brighter and squirm in your seat
"You didn't get affection growing up did you?" You felt yourself choking on spit fumbling for an answer but nothing but gibberish came out of you. Before you embarrass yourself further you opt to shut up. Was it a pro-hero thing to be able to read people this easily or did Nem have a secret quirk? "I figured as much." She tutted turning around and propping her feet up onto the desk wary of your homework and lesson plans spread out
"You're going to stay here?" You hoped your voice didn't sound too hopeful not wanting her to feel obligated to stay here but you wouldn't mind the company.
"Yeah, I don't have much to grade or do. I can save it for later on. Besides I have some business to take care of while I'm here." The grin that adorned her face spelled bad news so you went back to her paperwork unaware of the conversation she was having with two people.
The Power Trio
S: I will never understand why that's our group name (12:43 AM)
H: SHOUTA!!! Don't be a stick in the mud! (12:43 AM)
N: Name a better trio than us (12:44 AM)
S: My three cats, me my bed, and sleep (12:45 AM)
N: Honestly Shouta fuck you (12:46 AM)
H: This is exactly what I have to deal with on a daily basis. Do you see this? The disrespect is real (12:46 AM)
S: No one told you to say yes (12:49 AM)
N: Alright you love fucks, I didn't text you for this. I'm giving you some juicy gossip about your new boy toy. (12:50 AM)
S: Wanting a relationship with someone should not be called a 'boy toy' (12:52 AM)
H: Don't pay Shouta any mind, he just can't admit he's excited to hear what you got to say UNLIKE ME WHO WANTS EVERYTHING AS OF YESTERDAY!!!! (12:53 AM)
N: So your sunshine here loves affection. He's a whore for it. He got next to nothing growing up so now he craves it. You know what that means Hizashi (12:54 AM)
H: STEP 1: HUG HIM AT ANY TIME AND PLACE ESPECIALLY IF IT LOOKS LIKE HE NEEDS ONE. (12:56 AM)
S: Step 2: Actually make sure he doesn't go overboard and scare him (12:59 AM)
H: I AM NOT THAT EXTRA :((( (1:00 PM)
S: Yes you are (1:01 PM)
N: Yes you are (1:01 PM)
H: Alright you know something. I am DONE being ATTACKED and BULLIED by the two of you. I am going to do WHAT I WANT and watch me WORK MY MAGIC. (1:03 PM)
That was the end of the conversation as Nem glanced over to look at you while you were back and forth between grading ferociously and creating lesson plans.
"Hey, Nem what do you think about me doing this for the classes this week." She stopped thinking about scheming for a bit to help you with your lesson plans even if all she was able to do was listen and give support. "Well, I want to throw like a little music parade collab dancing thing for them. So I asked each person in each class to give me their number one favorite song. They have no idea why I want to do this but I thought that after everything happened with the USJ attack, sports festival, and the Kamino Incident that music would be a nice distraction. Everyone focuses on the hero classes but they're forgetting about the business, support, and general education classes. They were affected by all of this as well but no one thinks about it since it was the hero classes that faced it head-on. I also figured since there's no medical facility here to check the mental health of these 15 - 16 year old's I figured that music would bring them a sense of semblance and peace...I'm sorry I started rambling." You ducked your head blushing but, weren't prepared for the way that Nem jumped you squealing.
"I BEEN SO BLESSED TO HEAR SUCH WORDS. THE POWER OF YOUTH IS SO BEAUTIFUL." She started speaking gibberish after that not bothering you in the slightest. She was a lot to handle but, you saw why so many people loved her. She needed to be cherished despite her rambunctious personality. You hugged her back as much as you can before she let go standing up to make her leave "I have one more question for you love." You hummed giving her your full attention "Are you polyamorous? How do you feel about Polyamory?" Leave it to her to ask such an outlandish question.
"........I would usually lie about this answer but for some reason, I don't feel compelled to lie...I am poly-amorous so you can assume the answer for the other question..." You winced but refused to lose eye contact with her. You were used to the disgusted looks, being bullied, and being ostracized for your preferences.
"That's actually great that you're not judgmental. It's hard to find people like that nowadays." With that cryptic response, she took her to leave which left you with more questions than anything. You tried to take your mind away from it by throwing yourself into work and coming up with the perfect plan. You already had permission from the principal to use one of the gyms for class considering your quirk was both close-range and long-range.
"Fuck, I hope they like this." You didn't notice two people standing in the doorway until one of them spoke.
"Like what?" You let out an unmanly shriek losing slight control of your quirk. You looked at the notes that formed floating mid-air as you grabbed them swiftly crushing them into your palm where they'll eventually disappear from your skin. You were embarrassed turning to said person but your blood pressure sky-rocketed when you saw it was Aizawa and Yamada standing there. You gaped like a fish as they made their way inside getting comfortable around the desk and picking up your papers to read them. You felt your heart thumping hard in your chest from their proximity and you were getting drunk off of Yamada's cologne.
"U-uh, I wanna create like an m-music dance collab in the gym for each class using my quirk. I got permission from the principal to use the gym." You almost flinched when an arm fell across your waist and you turned to give Yamada a smile when he was beaming at you ready to talk a mile a minute. Were his eyes always that pretty?
"Speaking of quirk, what kind of quirk do you have? It's music-related I know that I can tell by that slip-up when Shouta scared you." You chanced a glance at the man and almost squeaked when you saw how close he was to you. Now that you think about it they both were invading your personal space and you had no qualms about it.
"Well it's literally called music, I am able to make whatever instrument noise I want by creating vibrations with my body, also when I sing the notes become 'real' in a sense like you two saw, and depending on how low or deep they are will determine what kind of note comes out. Now the fun part about the notes is that I can control their size and use them to carry people around and make them float and dance to the beat. It can also be used to pin someone to a wall and give them a massive headache if I make the vibration or note high enough." You were so caught up in talking and explaining your quirk that you didn't notice they both shifted and now you were somehow in between Yamada's legs and leaning against his back with Aizawa leaning forward his face a few inches from yours.
"You always had bright eyes but they shine when you're excited." Aizawa was too close, he was too close and your feelings just increased ten-fold and shot through the roof.
"Now who's playing it smoothly." Yamada's teasing voice vibrated in your ear and you couldn't suppress your shiver. Judging by the look Aizawa gave you before looking at Yamada it didn't go unnoticed.
"Forget smooth, straight to the point is the way." Straight to the point? Your eyes widen when he leaned completely in resting his forehead against yours and holding onto your hips. You would have been on the floor with a nosebleed if it wasn't for these two men holding you up. "I and Hizashi are polyamorous, always have been but we could never find someone to fit well with us."
"A little birdy told us that you were the perfect match." Fucking Nem was going to be the death of you if you weren't sent to the grave by these two.
".....You two are actually serious." You looked between the two of them even though it was kind of hard considering Aizawa was blocking 99 percent of your vision.
"Don't get time for lies..." Aizawa trailed off and you realized with bated breath that they both were waiting for you to say something. This opportunity was not going to present itself ever again.
"Can I call you Shouta and Hizashi?" You waited for Aizawa to respond but Hizashi beat him to it
"Only if you say yes." You smiled a bit finding this all surreal but you weren't one to look a gift horse in the mouth
"Why else would I be asking?" It took a minute but it got through their heads. You giggled but were left a stuttering mess when Aizawa placed a chaste kiss on your lips.
"Oh, that's not fair." You were forced to look up as Hizashi gave you a firmer kiss that didn't last but left you drunk nevertheless.
"You're both going to send me to an early grave." You felt more than heard Hizashi's chuckle.
"Oh, sweetheart this is only the beginning."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This concludes it
