It’s not where you touch her. It’s how you touch her that lights her fire. You can turn her on by just touching her earlobes, toes or forearm. A true gentleman knows.
dear self, sorry for always putting you in the same situation. i know you just want to be loved and treated the way you treat others but it always end up nothing
One night you went to your last house party. One last night with disposable cups and bodies finding space where they can, on floors, inside each other.
One morning you had your final cigarette. You told yourself you were an adult now and they were nothing more than a holdover from walking home at 5am barely lucid.
One evening you said goodbye to your Grandmother. She’d wanted to see the beach one last time. You knew she didn’t have long left, but she was so full of life when you hugged her and said goodnight.
And one night, beneath a weeping moon, on the deck we shared, we pressed our lips together one last time.
our love was one of a kind. we knew about each other long before we spoke. we both thought maybe then we were not ready, and we were now. jokes on us, i guess. our love was from a distance at first and we found every opportunity possible to hop on a plane for each other. it was working then, but not anymore. distance got too much and by the time we were going to break it, you broke me with the words i so hoped i'd never hear. distance got the best of us and won. i thought our love was strong enough but i suppose mine was the only one. i understand you got tired of waiting by the phone, trust me so was i. difference is, i never got tired of you.
Feel everything that you go through, just feel. Even if it’s bad or even if you can’t handle it but feel it. Don’t complain or blame anyone just feel the pain, feel the scars, feel the broken heart and feel the wet tears running down your cheek because life is all about the different feelings that come your way. Happiness is a fleeting moment that comes in a while. Because you will start complaining even if happiness becomes stagnant. So just FEEL !!
I wrote this piece back in 2018 for a poetry challenge. A ten-lined poem that starts off the first line with one syllable, and each consecutive line adds another syllable, until line ten that ends with ten syllables. I made it into a spoken word later on.
